I beg of you, help me get to the Galactic Transit Station! There're bound to be thugs looking for me. I'll pay you all I have left after I buy my ticket off. Please?" Will you help this worm? 75… 76… 77… 78… Sweat trickled down Burter’s face as he pushed himself as far as he could go. The past few days, he had been training as hard as he could, nonstop, to grow stronger. His recent forays into the astral realm of the gem had taught him one thing very clearly, that he was far outmatched by many in the universe. If he was to survive long enough to claim revenge, he would need to be stronger than anyone he might face along the way. Suddenly, Frost’s aid walked in. Burter thought nothing of it, he just wanted the esteemed master to return from his campaign and train him personally once more. The aid continued to stand there, somewhat awkwardly, as the Borean continued his workout. Once it was clear he wasn’t leaving, Burter paused for a moment and approached him. “Well, what is it?” The changeling merely shifted his eyes and mumbled something, seeming almost nervous. This was uncommon for the proud race, and Burter was very intrigued. “Speak up! I thought you people were proud.” Hopefully that would get him to talk. “Well, sir… You are the only one of Frost’s students available… And, well, we have a job request we need you to take.” Suddenly Burter understood why the changeling seemed so nervous. He was being trained by Frost, which instantly gave him credibility over the people. He was above most changelings on the power chain. It was odd for the alien to think about. “I suppose I have no choice but to do this. What is this task you speak of?” The changeling seemed relieved that Burter agreed, “The client wouldn’t tell us exactly, we just know that you are to meet him at the bar in town…” The servants nerves were starting to really to annoy Burter, “And ‘when’ am I to do this?” “Uh… I… Sorry, I err… Forget.” Burter was really starting to get angry, his fists began to clench. The changeling quickly exited the room and went back to wherever it lived. Well I may as well get going. With any luck I won’t be waiting long. Burter went to dry off his sweat and immediately left for the bar. He wanted to get this done quickly and return to training. WC: 381 |

Burter sat in the bar, working on his third drink. Nothing had happened in the hours he had been there. Not even an altercation. It was so BORING. But he continued to wait. Another hour passed by. That was it, he couldn’t wait any longer. Burter got up to leave, and suddenly the door opened. A timid alien entered, seeming very out of place. He kept looking back and forth, and moved in quick, jittery movements, as if he was being hunted. For some reason, the Blue Hurricane knew that this man was his so-called “mission”. “Excuse me,” he addressed the man, “did you request my aid?” The timid man started at the sound of Burter’s voice. It seemed like he thought everyone was out to get him. “Y- Y- You? Are you F- Frost’s s- st- st- student?” Great, he stutters too. I can already tell this day’s just gonna get worse. “Yes, yes I am. What can I do for you?” “Pl- please, you must help me. I owe a d- d- debt and it’s due today! I h- ha- have some of the money but i- it’s just not enough. I only n- n- n- need you to get me to the GTS.” Being already hired, Burter knew he had no choice but to accept the man’s terms. The GTS?? This guy does not keep up with current events. Not my problem though. “Agreed, I’ll get you to the transit station, but after that, I’m gone. Do we have a deal?” The Borean stuck out his hand for the alien to seal the pact, which he did momentarily. “Oh th- th- th- thank you!” Burter only sighed, “I do have one other term for this deal. You don’t talk until we reach the station. Got it?” A fervent nod gave the reptilian the answer he wanted. He walked toward the door to leave, not knowing that already his present company was indeed in danger. WC: 327 TWC: 708 |

The bodyguard and his employer exited the bar while Burter decided what to do now. I’m willing to bet this guy can’t fly or else he wouldn’t need my help, and there’s no way in hell I’m carrying the bastard. Guess we’ll go on foot. He had just started to move down the street, when suddenly a human appeared out of the shadows, coming out of an alleyway. The human’s motives were clear by his body language. He was here for blood… And Burter intended to give him just that. Before the human could move the Blue Hurricane teleported behind him, and quickly gave him a chop in the back of the neck. The Borean was tired of this errand and wanted to return to training. To do that, he had to finish this as quickly as possible. The human sprawled out unconscious, or dead, Burter didn’t really care which. He motioned for his employer to join him and again began to walk towards the GTS. As they walked, Burter could only hope that all of his opponents would be as weak as that human. It would make everything so much quicker and easier. He had thought about how to continue, and decided the best approach was to march down the street, in plain sight. It would force any would-be attackers to come out in the open, and save some time in the process. The reptilian also intended to take the swiftest path to the destination, while knowing it would be the most heavily patrolled by the lenders’ goons. If he had to miss his training, then he would damn well do what he could to make up for it. “Stop,” a voice suddenly commanded from behind the pair, “you don’t want to cause us any trouble now, do you?” Burter turned around and saw an alien standing there, ready to pounce. Just as he went to engage his foe, he heard more footsteps behind him. Looking around, he saw two more goons surrounding what was now his back side. The reptilian warrior simply smiled, as he jumped and flew up in the air, firing energy blasts at those two. The third made a break for his nervous target, forcing Burter to fly back down to intercept. As he got close to his adversary, he simply sped up, crashing into the ground using the body of the alien as a cushion. By the time he rose to his feet, the other two attackers had recovered from the surprise energy attack and were staring agape at their former partner in crime. Apparently, they didn’t have life insurance; it was a matter of seconds until they took off. Again, Burter and his charge continued down the street, simply waiting for the inevitable next attack. The duo had walked for nearly 15 minutes with no interruption after Burter forced the last ambush to flee in terror. The GTC was nearly within their sight. Suddenly there was a flash of light from Burter’s left, and as he looked, an energy beam was flying toward him. Unable to dodge, he was hit by the beam. Unfortunately for the would-be assassin was either new at controlling ki, or just weak; the blow barely made Burter flinch. It didn’t take long to identify the culprit, a creature wearing a cloak. The reptilian dashed forward, landing a single uppercut against his opponent’s stomach, and the cloaked figure fell to its knees, unable to retaliate. It was odd, how helpless all of the opposition had been against him… Something is just not right. This guy could have hired a normal mercenary if this was all he needed. Frost’s students are known to be above this kind of work. There must be some catch to all this… His train of thought was interrupted when a muffled cry came from the street. Spinning around, Burter saw that his client had disappeared. Cursing to himself, he raced off in search of the abductors. With no idea where to search, progress was slow. On planet Frieza, the changelings were not strangers to seeing violence, so there was no reaction from passerby to his whereabouts. Just as Burter began to feel desperate, he was approached by the cloaked figure that attacked him earlier. “To find what you seek, figure out the goal of the meek.” He spoke with a pronounced lisp, and sounded far more reptilian than Burter was. He heard the weakling’s rhyme, and let him leave, knowing it wasn’t a threat. After a bit of thought, e realized the answer was quite simple. The goal of the meek referred to where his employer was attempting to go to, which was the GTC. Burter, not wanting to waste any more time, took off in flight towards the station. Upon his arrival there, he saw the one thing he expected least. The sight greeting Burter was his employer. But he wasn’t in chains, or really any sort of discomfort. In fact, he appeared to be in great comfort. It seemed the so-called thugs were doing his bidding. That wasn’t the only difference, either. His previous timid and nervous demeanor had been replaced with one of confidence and control. Burter landed and looked around, sizing up the enemy numbers; he was prepared for a fight, knowing by now that he had been tricked. “Oh, d- d- don’t worry about them,” the leader said, momentarily returning to his ruse before continuing confidently, “We all know they are no match for a fighter like you. You have proven that many times. But then again, what did I expect from a pupil of Frost himself? I am indeed sorry for wasting that much of your time. Someone like yourself could actually prove… useful, to me. If you surrender now, and become my servant, you will not have to die here today.” The blue hurricane smiled, knowing his answer already WC: 519 TWC: 1673 |

Burter got into a fighting stance, watching his opponent with eyes unmoving. Smirking, he answered, “Become your servant? Not gonna happen. You should know that I don’t really want to kill you. But if you continue to stand between me and my revenge, I will not back down.” At this, he jumped towards his former partner, twisting his body around and attacking with a spinning hook kick. The reptilian was surprised when his opponent deftly jumped upward to dodge and landed far behind Burter. “It seems you have made a decision. I would have had to kill you eventually regardless. See, I’m a bounty hunter; your head has a price. You might be stronger than my men, but you can’t kill them all!” As he finished the sentence, the dozens of thugs surrounding Burter attacked. The blue hurricane would have to show them why the others in Frosts city gave him that name. He jumped skyward, letting them all collide with each other in the middle, before landing daintily outside the circle of fools. He began to run around and around in a circle, moving fast enough to create winds behind him. He then jumped into the air in the middle of the wind funnel, firing several powerful energy blasts. The wind served to scatter the blasts, but also kept them condensed inside. This allowed a series of weak attacks to spread out and hit all adversaries, while not allowing the shots to be distant enough to dodge. Also, since the blasts move with the wind, their paths were unpredictable, making blocking difficult. Burter touched down, breathing slightly heavy. As he looked up, the bounty hunter ran to the GTC, and frantically tried to enter in order to escape the Borean. “You really should keep up with current events. This GTC was closed some time ago due to that stupid law. I told you, you don’t need to die. Unless, that is, you think your friends need company?” After speaking, Burter hovered up into the air and charged up for an attack… then smiled and flew away. Today, he thought, someone will live.
