Valentil raised his two fingers up to his forehead, ready to take himself off of the planet Juno and return to his home planet of Vegeta. Never before had he used the Instant Transmission technique at such long distances before, but he was sure that he had locked on to the right place. He could feel at least one Saiyan there, and that was enough for him. Soon he would once again be able to step foot on home soil and begin his mission to become an elite Saiyan warrior. Something that he had dreamed of doing since the moment he had been marooned on the desert planet. As a child, he had been content with staying at a second-class level…but no more. The pride and determination that ran through his Saiyan blood was far too strong to stay at such an amateur level. Valentil had no intention on easing off his training, or procrastinating in weeks to come.

Finally, the moment was here and within seconds, the Saiyan warrior vanished from the face of Juno, to re-appear on a new planet, clad in his Saiyan armour.

However, something was not right. Even before the Saiyan opened his eyes, he knew something was wrong, especially when the freezing cold temperatures struck his body like a sharp knife. As soon as Valentil opened his eyes, he could definitely see that something was not right. This was certainly not planet Vegeta as he had remembered it. To what Valentil could recall from his childhood, the planet Vegeta was not a seemingly desolate, icy planet, with freezing cold temperatures. Granted, a lot could well have changed in almost fifteen years, but this was extreme. Surely this was all wrong, he couldn’t help but think that he had gotten something wrong himself, and teleported to a completely different planet. Because this was certainly neither Juno, nor Vegeta.

Valentil pressed the button on his scouter, trying to see if he could detect any life-forms of any sort within the vicinity. But there was no need. Almost immediately, through the white icy winds that almost impeded his vision, he could see, what appeared to be, some sort of fortress in the distance. Without any hesitation, the Saiyan took off from the icy ground, and soared through the air, the cold air rushing passed him, almost causing him physical harm. The air itself was hard enough to breathe, and the temperatures were almost unbearable. If Valentil had not had the sheer determination and will power of a Saiyan, he knew that he would not have been able to withstand it. To him, however, it was almost like a test, or a training session, to measure his toughness. Weight training was one thing, but climate training was a whole different ball game altogether.

No sooner than he had taken off, Valentil had arrived outside the fortress that he had spotted mere moments before. It was tall, dark and black from the outside. The writing on the door was something that he was unable to make out, but it still left him with an incline of where he might be.

In his childhood, Valentil had been told about a powerful race of generally evil Alien warriors, of who could change their will when strong enough. Many times had the Saiyans and the Changelings fought, but the feud had at least died down in recent years. The Saiyan had been told that they resided on a cold, desolate planet, as was their nature as cold-blooded beings.

“This must be the planet Frieza,” Valentil thought to himself. “There is no other planet that I can think of where a race of people could live in such extreme temperatures,”

Valentil had also heard about one Changeling in particular. Lord Frost. A powerful and evil Changeling who sometimes took on students. The Saiyan had never been trained by a master before, but this was the perfect opportunity to learn the ways of the Changeling. Valentil had never considered himself evil as such, but he knew that his moral values differed quite a bit from the typically ‘good’ person.

The Saiyan knocked on the huge doors three times, and within seconds, they had opened up for him. Inside, however, he was greeted by guards.

“State your business,” They asked, almost robotically.

“I wish to train with Lord Frost, so I ask that you take me to him, so that I can ask him,”

A new alien warrior stepped out of the shadows, and answered “Follow me,” Valentil immediately followed the alien warrior through the cold corridors. The temperatures inside the fortress were not exactly much warmer than those outside, just as the Changelings preferred it, he presumed. Before long, he had been brought to a great chamber, in which he could see Lord Frost sitting in, resting in a large chair. His very form and presence was intimidating, even to a Saiyan.

“Go inside, I suggest you bow to him before you ask him for his services,” The warrior stated, pointing the way for Valentil to go.

There was only slight hesitation as the Saiyan took a deep breath and entered the chamber. All seemed to fall quiet as he made his way along the long blue carpet that led its way to Lord Frost’s throne. The eyes from everyone residing in the chamber locked on to Valentil. Finally, he arrived in front of the royal Changeling.

“My Lord,” Valentil began as he took a bow to show his mark of respect. “I wish to seek your services, to train me as my master. I have heard many tales of your excellence,” The last part had been a lie, but Valentil assumed that flattery would at least aid his cause.

“Have you now? Well, then I’m sure that you have heard that I only train those with the ruthlessness and determination of a true warrior. I don’t just train anyone you know,” Lord Frost stated as he swirled a big glass of wine in his hand.

“I am ruthless and determined, my Lord. I will do whatever it takes to train under you. Your wish is my command,”

The Changeling Lord thought for a moment as he sized up his possible student. Taking more sips of blood red wine as he did so. Valentil wasn’t sure if he had disregarded his statement altogether, or was considering his offer.

“Very well,” Began Lord Frost “I want you to travel down to the underground encampment of Ignus, and then from there you shall go to the Lawe Inn. Then I want you to slay three aliens, it doesn’t matter which ones, or how you go about it, I’ll let you have your fun there, but if you can complete this task, then, and only then will I accept you as my student. Also, as you seem to be new to this world, I’ll send one of my guards with you, to show you the way. But they must play no part in your slaughter,”

Valentil bowed once again, to show his acceptance of the evil quest, and followed one of the guards out of the chamber, and back into the cold winds of the plains of Frieza, outside the fortress. The guard did not speak one word to Valentil, nor did he even acknowledge his existence, or check to see if the Saiyan was still following as they took off into the air, flying towards the entrance of the encampment.

The Saiyan was still not completely used to the brisk, cold wind that rushed into his face as they flew through the air, not compared to the guard, who seemed to pass it off as if they were in completely normal temperatures. Well, normal to Valentil anyway. Especially as he had been confined to the heat of Juno most of his life.

It was not too long before they set down on ground once again, and the guard uncovered a hidden entrance underneath the ice, and pulled it up for the Saiyan to enter.

“For some reason, these punks think that they can hid themselves away without Lord Frost knowing about it,” The guard started, finally acknowledging Valentil for the first time since they had set off. “But, as you can see, nothing gets passed our Lord, so get down there and do what you need to do. I’ll be waiting up here for your return,”

The Saiyan climbed down the hole, and as soon as he was in, the door above was closed shut, leaving him in a vertical, dark tunnel. Luckily for Valentil, it wasn’t exactly hard to find where he was going, as it was just straight down a ladder.

“And who might you be?” Asked a strange hooded man, as soon as Valentil touched the ground.

Immediately he began to shivering and rubbing his arms. “Sorry, I needed to get out of the cold. I got lost on the surface, and stumbled across a hatch, and took my luck with it,”

The man looked like he was suspicious of the Saiyan at first, but soon warmed up to him. “Well, it’s a good thing that you got in here when you did. Those Changelings aren’t always so friendly to us warm-blooded types. Come on, I’ll take you to the Lawe Inn, you’ll be able to get some good food and drink down there,”

“Perfect,” Valentil thought to himself as the two of them walked down the impressively built underground structure towards the Inn. He couldn’t help thinking to himself that these people were far too trusting. Little did they know that he was running an errand for Lord Frost himself, and it wasn’t exactly a nice, happy, friendly one either.

As the underground town was not exactly big, it wasn’t long before they reached their destination, the Lawe Inn, and the hooded man held open the door for him as Valentil stepped inside.

Inside was a completely different environment to what he had been used to on this planet. There were families for a start, people who were happy, and laughing, genuinely having a good time and enjoying each other’s company. The man offered Valentil a drink, but he declined. The Saiyan wasn’t here on a social call, he was here for business. As he looked around the room, it only reminded him of what he had missed as a child, with his father disowning him and sending him away out of sheer embarrassment. It made him feel sick.

Valentil looked at one family in particular and smiled, they were on stage, as the Inn had some sort of Karaoke night going on. Everyone seemed to be cheering their names and generally had a lot of love towards them. This made the Saiyan’s choice of victim easy. He had only intended on murdering three aliens, as he had been instructed, but there was no way that the Saiyan could resist taking out the four of them, mother, father, son and daughter, all in one.

He raised his hands, everyone in the Inn oblivious to his action, and his evil grin that lurked on his face. Within moments, the singing and cheering ceased, as energy ripped through the air, blasting the happy family. It was something that Valentil had never really relished in before, but it made him feel glorious, and powerful. It was incredible.

Valentil exited the scene, not needing to stay there any longer. His work was done, and he had to get back to Lord Frost for his training.
