Due to certain circumstances, involving Lord Frost, Valentil was forced to train alone. It was not the best solution, as he had hoped that by training with one of Frieza's most renowned masters, it would sufficiently increase his power, experience and technique as a warrior. It was these attributes that he, as a Saiyan, prided himself on above all else, and would stop at nothing to achieve new heights.

Training alone was not the be all and end all though, after all, the Saiyan had spent most of his life in solitude, and had grown used to himself being his only company. Not to mention the fact that the icy cold temperatures provided a completely different regime of training in comparison to the hot deserts of Juno, in which he had resided for the past fourteen years.

Valentil had decided to stay away from the fortress for the time being, not wanting to be roped into any kind of quest or mission that Lord Frost would have him complete. After all, Valentil was no lacky, and the only reason he was planning on staying on Frieza for the time being was because he had not yet figured out how to use his Instant Transmission ability to full effectiveness for planetary travel. As he had discovered by winding up on the planet Frieza.

So, for now at least, the Saiyan warrior had built himself a make-shift home, which reminded him of his home back on Juno. A small cave, in which he could keep his belongings, simple and effective. For most people, it probably wouldn't do, but then again, most people were used to the comforts of life. Valentil, however, was far from 'used to it'. All of his life had been a struggle for survival, and so the 'comforts' were hardly on the top of his priority list.

The Saiyan warrior had decided upon meditation as his main training for the day, as he awoke from the cold, stony ground. He didn't need to use his scouter to know that powering up, or practicing ki techniques would be a bad idea. Valentil had already sensed several high power levels across the planet, of which a few were far stronger than himself, and the last thing he needed to do on an unknown planet, was draw attention to himself. He was far too busy for that.

Something else was troubling him though. Valentil couldn't quite focus his mind as much as he wanted, or usually could. There was something odd going on, something that he had never felt before. Suddenly, a shiver trembled down his spine, forcing him to open his eyes. Cold sweat dripped down from his forehead.

"What is going on?"

Valentil couldn't recall a time when he had felt so distressed. It wasn't right. He felt as if something was lurking in the shadows, and yet at the same time could not sense a presence of any kind. The Saiyan reached for his scouter, wondering whether technology would be able to help him in this uncertainty. He quickly attached it on to his ear, and clicked the button, as his eyes focused into the deep shadows of the cave...

The scouter began to go haywire, beeping and repeatedly showing the word "Unknown" on the small screen.

"Nothing like this has ever happened before. I thought the scouter had been equipped with all racial knowledge..." Valentil thought to himself as his eyes remained fixed in the darkness, not knowing whether to edge forward slowly, blast the back of the cave, or leave before he could find out what lurked beneath the shadow.

This had certainly halted his training. Valentil wasn't necessarily scared of whatever was hiding from him, but more cautious of the unknown. Had he seen or felt his possible foe's power, then the Saiyan would have made a calculated estimate based on his own. But this was something else. It was as if, whatever was hiding was something completely new...

Valentil finally plucked up the courage to creep closer, holding out his hand, palm up, and summoning a ball of energy to light up the dark cave as he strode further into its depths.

The Saiyan stopped, thinking that he had heard movement, and pushed his hand out slowly. The ball of energy moved deeper instead, eradicating the shadows. But before it could reach its destination, the energy had dissipated, as if it had been absorbed.

Valentil could not take much more of this. The cold sweat slid further down his forehead, running down his face, just as his patience was slowly running out.

"Enough of this! Show yourself!" The Saiyan commanded as he stood ready for whatever was to come next.

He could hear the sound of movement, a slight rustling of clothes and shifting of broken rock on the ground. Whatever 'it' was, was now on the move, as Valentil has so nicely suggested. The Saiyan stood in guard, his eyes still fixated deep inside the cave, trying to get a good look at whatever was moving through the dark shadows of the cave.

Before long, a silhouette had become visible. The outline of a figure, which slowly walked further into the light. At first it looked like an ordinary man, but under close inspection, Valentil could see that it was something...different.

The being had finally become visible for Valentil to see properly, and it was definitely not what he had expected. The Saiyan had seen the being's kind before, but this one was far from normal.

The man that stood there was a Namekian, but no ordinary Namekian. Something, as aforementioned plenty of times, was different.

"I thought all you guys were meant to be green," The Saiyan said, rather insensitively.

The red Namekian smiled. "Yes, we are. But I am different. If you will indulge me, then I shall tell you how I came to be, and why it is that I am so unlike my brethren,"

Valentil knew that he didn't have much else to do, and so he signalled the Namekian to continue, with a nod as he sat down on a nearby rock.

"Long ago, the Namekians were not just peaceful people, but warriors as well. They fought for good, as you can imagine. However, upon helping another planet with their unwelcome visitors, my father was born. Hatched from an egg under the red sun. He was supposed to go back with the other Namekians, but was forgotten about. By the time he had hatched, the red sun had taken its tole on him, turning him a red colour. My father set about getting back to the planet Namek, and in doing so, he rose up through the ranks until he was the most experienced Namekian, besides the Guru at the time. However, my father was different from the other Namekians, despite learning their ways, he also wanted strength and power. He was far from being evil, but it was because of his so-called selfish desires, that he was not allowed to become the next Guru, and was forbidden from ever spawning his own kind. It was of that that Red Namekians were outlawed, and as the new Guru, which is the current Guru of Namek took over, my father left. My father knew that he needed an heir, and so he used up the rest of his remaining power to overcome the curse that they had laid with him, and I was born,"

"Unlike the green Namekians that everyone are used to, I am a true warrior,"

Valentil was shocked. He had no idea about Namekian history, but it was interesting. The Saiyan would be able to use this to his advantage.

"I think it's pitiful that that would disregard someone like you. Instead of going back to them, you should stay with me, I could teach you a thing or two, and I don't doubt that I could learn from you either,"

The red Namekian nodded, as he sat down on the floor, crossing his legs and closing his eyes.

"Very well, then the first thing I shall do is teach you the Namekian method of meditation. It is much more effective than any other race,"

Valentil responded by imitating the Namekian's actions. The Saiyans had never really focused on using meditation before, and this was only going to work to his advantage. A warrior who could use his body and mind in perfect harmony, would be a very deadly warrior.

"First of all, you're now under my command, so I give the orders. Secondly, after we're done with this, we'll spar a little, I want to test this power of yours. And finally, my name is Valentil, what do I call you?"

The Saiyan warrior knew that he could only benefit from having an underling. A minion to do his bidding, and to assist him whenever he wanted, and the Namekian would be a fine choice. Unique; one of a kind.

"Very well, Valentil, and you may call me, Red. Now, the key to mediation is to focus on your inner power. Never give up, continue focusing on that power, going deeper and deeper, bringing it out as you go. You need to be able to access every last part of your potential,"

The next few hours were filled with more intense meditation than Valentil had ever experienced. The Namekian had continued sharing secrets to true mediation with the Saiyan, which had enabled him to access his mind in ways that he never thought possible. In only a few hours, Valentil could feel that his power had increased. Obviously, some of this was due to untapped potential, and wouldn't always get these kind of gains, but the end result was still phenomenal.

Valentil finally awoke from his meditative state. His body glowing with the power that he could feel inside. His aura flaring around him as if he was on fire. The Saiyan's natural instinct was to immediately summon up his power in his entirity to find out what he was capable. However, the Saiyan decided against this, for the same reason that he had decided against sparring or practicing ki techniques earlier that day.

"Right, time for a more physical challenge now. I want you to show me what you've got, Red. Don't worry, I won't fight back,"

Red looked confused, as he too stood up.

"Sorry sir, what would that have to do with training? I know Saiyans are meant to be tough, and even with my weaker power, with you not defending yourself, you could get seriously hurt,"

Valentil smiled, as he replied to Red "Us Saiyans have a knack for growing stronger once we heal up. Plus, it'll help improve my ability to take a hit, and at the same time gives me a chance to assess my new warrior. So don't hold back,"

The Red Namekian needed no more convincing and readied himself, taking up an unfamiliar stance to Valentil. The Saiyan couldn't help feeling excited, despite knowing that he was in for a world of pain.

Red lunged towards Valentil at speeds he didn't quite expect. Sure, it wasn't as fast as the Saiyan, but still faster than he had judged him to be. Red's elbow came crashing across Valentil's face. The blow was enough to knock him off balance, but not quite off of his feet. The second strike was far stronger, as Red's knee struck Valentil's stomach with high intensity.

Normally, such blows wouldn't have done as much damage as this, but with Valentil not defending himself, the attacks were much more fierce. Red didn't stop there either, continuing his assault as the Saiyan had instructed by quickly attacking his mid-section with numerous punches, finally ending with a strike directly aimed at Valentil's soloplexus.

The strike forced the Saiyan to buckle over, coughing up blood on the floor.

"K-Keep going," Valentil instructed as he fell to his knees, impressed by Red's strength.

The Namekian picked Valentil up by his air and held his palm up to the Saiyan's face. Valentil could see the ki summoning up, and sensing that it was by no means a weak blast. The energy erupted, blasting Valentil into the cave wall, which in turn caused numerous rocks to come crashing down on top of him, as they had done when Valentil had killed the Kassacks back on Juno.

He stood back up, dusting himself off and wiping the blood from his face. The pain was intense, but Valentil was insistent that he had to carry on, taking even more punishment. But before he could regain his composure, Red was on him again, striking him from all directions, before tossing him on to the floor like a rag doll.

Valentil ended up sliding outside of the cave, his body leaving a bloody, Valentil-sized trail as he did so. Before the Saiyan could even get up from the ice-cold ground, the Namekian had begun to summon hi ki one more...

Before Valentil was able to pick himself up from the cold, hard ground, Red had fired numerous energy blasts. The ki homing in on the Saiyan at a vastly extraordinary rate, just ready to explode upon impact and cause more damage to the already injured body of the self-proclaimed warrior.

There was not much Valentil would have been able to do, even if he hadn't promised not to defend himself, as the blasts were in huge number, and very speedy. They connected with the Saiyan's body, one after the other, each causing more damage than the last as Valentil's pain threshold decreased from the constant onslaught of damage that was being rained down upon him. Not every blast was accurate enough to hit him, but it seemed as if all of them were, from the amount that were connecting with his body.

On some level, Valentil regretted his decision of wanting Red to inflict as much damage as possible on the Saiyan, but in the back of his mind, he still knew that this could only benefit him. After all, Saiyans were known, and prided themselves on getting stronger after healing themselves, especially from near death, and that was certainly where this was heading.

Red may not have been as powerful as Valentil, but he wasn't far enough ahead of him to not defend himself and not feel the affects of battle. Any normal-powered person would struggle to inflict the slightest pain on the Saiyan, but Red was half of his power, and had impeccable technique, it had to be said, even for a non-Saiyan.

All of this had led to the point that, once Red had drained a substantial amount of his ki, from firing a ridiculous amount of energy blasts at the Saiyan, that Valentil was left in, what some would call, a bad way, even if it was an understatement. His body felt broken, and partly frozen from the icy ground beneath him.

Suddenly, without reason, Valentil's vision became red, not in the traditional sense, and although some of the blood had seeped into his eye, which admittedly stung like a bitch, that wasn't the reason either. The pain had overcome him, and had seemingly reminded him of his childhood...thoughts in which he had been blocking out for the past fourteen years.

It was as if the pain on his body was no longer that which had been inflicted by Red, but the same bruises and wounds that had been dealt by his own father in his youth. The sealed scars feeling as if they were being torn back open. Valentil had not felt such pain since his childhood, and there was good reason for that. His training had led him to be stronger than those around him, but now, the pain struck him as a direct link to the anger and hatred he felt for his father, for his family. Causing him pain, and motivation at the same time.

He rose up from the ground, lop-sided, all he could feel was the anger rising to the surface, inch by inch, second by second, overcoming his very being, and just wanting to inflict pain on those around him.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" The Saiyan screamed as his aura flourished up around him. His whole focus in the past had been just to be stronger, he had felt no other motivation for it. But this was it, the key to why he had been so determined. Valentil's anger lying dormant all of this time, as time itself buried it within.

Valentil was no longer the warrior he had been, he was now a warrior of vengeance. A warrior of pain. A warrior of retribution, and a warrior of anger. The Saiyan welcomed it, as he succumbed to the darkness within, filling him up entirely. A new man had awoken.

Valentil no longer had the patience or willpower to stand around getting beaten down, as had happened to him all of those years ago, and without a second thought, the Saiyan warrior found himself launching into the sky, his aura like a burning flame around him.

There was no need or reason for what came next apart from the intense anger and rage that burned inside the Saiyan like a fire. Like a volcano, which had erupted after lying dormant for so many years. His power wasn't quite what it could have been, if he was at full capacity, but the damage that was being inflicted upon Red was evident, especially when Valentil sent him crashing to the same cold ground, which he had been laying on mere moments ago, with a powerful hammerfist.

The rage seemed to subside somewhat after that, as his need to inflict pain diminished. The Saiyan could see what he had done, but still didn't feel any remorse. He certainly was a new man. There may have been a time where he would care for those around him, but the years of cold solitude, combined with the searing hot embers of passionate anger and hatred inside of him was a deadly combination that had turned him from a determined Saiyan warrior, into a ruthless and determined Saiyan warrior. He could feel the difference, and he cared not for his "old self".

However, Valentil was still keen to have the Namekian as an ally. Someone to serve under him, and so he descended to the ground, to help Red up.

"I will not apologise for my little outburst there, as it has awoken something inside of me that has been laying dormant for years. I now feel better than ever, I now feel like I have a purpose, and I now feel complete,"

"It's fine sir," Red began as he took Valentil's hand and stood up. "I'm glad I could be of assistance,"

The Saiyan felt better than ever, and he knew what he had to do. Valentil would go to the planet Vegeta, just as intended, become and elite...and then find his father. The thought had, for some reason, never crossed his mind. As if something had been blocking him mentally for years. But no longer, his power and rage was unleashed upon the Universe.

"Red, I will be heading off of this god-forsaken ice planet soon. I want you to come with me. I am not arrogant enough to know that there are dangers, and people working beneath me might just be what I need. What do you say?"

The red Namekian decided to clean himself up before responding, dusting off the pieces of ice and snow from his body.

"It would be an honour, sir. But I cannot. You have proven to me today that I am still not strong enough, and I have much to do. I will join you in your efforts when I have increased my power,"

Valentil was shocked at first, but quickly came around to Red's way of thinking. The Namekian would be a useful companion at some point, but it was true that he would need to improve, and Valentil would not always have the time to assist in that. However, Red beckoned the Saiyan back into the cave.

"I may not be of use to you yes, but he might," Red stated as he dragged, what looked like a corpse out of the shadows. "This was the alien that resided in the cave before you. He's quite strong, and may be of use to you. I believe he was once a slave to the Changelings and was, for some reason, banished from the fortress,"

The Saiyan warrior looked down at the tattooed-faced alien. Despite the fact that he was unconscious, he looked to have some use to him. That, combined with a somewhat unnerving, scary quality to his appearance definitely deemed him to be a useful henchman.

The voices and dragging must have awoken the previously unconscious alien, as his humanoid body began writhing on the floor, and his face and eyes twitching.

"You, what is your name?"

The man's eyes spread wide open, it was easy to tell from his expression that he was trying his best to work out where the hell he was, and just who was speaking to him.

"My name is Shiyan," Spoke the man, in a somewhat deep and double-voiced tone.

As he said this, Valentil noticed the third eye on the alien's forehead. Probably normal in the alien's culture, wherever he was from, but it was definitely weird in Valentil's eyes (excuse the pun).

"Very well," Began the Saiyan. "I have also been informed that you were once a servant to the Changelings, but you were banished. If this is true, for what reasons was this punishment implemented?"

Shiyan nodded as he wriggled his arm free of Red's grasp, and pushed himself up from the floor and on to his knees, his head looking down at the ground.

"You were informed correctly. I was a slave to a Changeling family. However, my services were not good enough for them, and they brought it someone to replace me. Having obeyed them for my entire life, having been born under their rule, I was in no place to accept this. I attacked the new slave, and was banished because of it,"

The Saiyan grinned as he heard Shiyan's account of the story. It pleased him at least that his new underling at least had some fiery qualities, of which would certainly help him, should he ever need it.

"Well, Shiyan, your services may have been tossed aside by the race of people that inhabit this planet, but I will not disregard you so lightly. From now on, you shall serve under me. Your fate would be much better than living in this cave on a desolate planet,"

Shiyan nodded. His whole life had been consistent of the same thing, and was probably glad at the change of leadership. Valentil didn't care much for the reasonings behind it, he was just glad to be building a following. His anger had awoken a much more ambitious side of him, which wanted to lead him somewhere big, somewhere glorious. And this was only the start.

"Our friend here, the Namekian shall join us at some point, but has a lot of training to do. So for now, you shall remain as my right hand man, so to speak. As I'm sure you're aware, you will do what I say, when I say it, and no questions,"

The alien nodded continuously, every now and then uttering the words "Yes, master,"

"Soon, we will be heading off to the planet Vegeta. My home planet. I have a lot of business there, and it will be good to have someone there whom I know I can trust. However, before we decide to set off, I want to test your loyalty to me..."

As Valentil said this, he clicked the button on the side of his scouter, to get a good reading on just how powerful Shiyan was, so as to depict the difficulty of the task, and to know just who to look for, should the loyalty of this alien fail him. The reading suggested that Shiyan's power was around half of that of Valentil's, and just slightly weaker than Red's. It was reasonably impressive, and certainly would come in handy.

"...There is a group, not far from here, by my understanding. Not too powerful, but certainly not weak. If my scouter is correct, then they should be around the 500-1000 power level mark, none going above that and only a few beneath it. There should be about ten of them. I want you, no matter who they are, to slaughter every last one of them. They could be children, your family, or even a bunch of low-life women looking to pleasure and sleezy man who walks by, I don't care. I want them dead. Not because they're a threat...I could wipe them out myself. I just want to know how far you're willing to go. Now, I could quite easily sense their deaths, or even use my scouter...but I want much more than that. I want you to take that bag over there and bring them back, severed into nice meaty chunks. Got it?"

Valentil had never been so sadistic in his life. But it felt good. Without the restraints of a conscience holding him back, he felt unstoppable, he felt ultimately powerful, and with it he had a good plan for what he was going to do with the body parts that were going to be brought back to him.

"How long do I have to complete your request, master?" Asked Shiyan, as he rose to his feet, preparing to leave.

"You have one hour...and remember, any sign of disloyalty, and you won't just be 'banished' from a place, you will be 'banished' from your entire existence in this physical plain...Oh and one other thing, my name is Valentil...well...Master Valentil to you,"

Shiyan nodded. "Yes, Master Valentil,"

Immediately, with no second thought, the alien took off and flew in the direction in which Valentil had ordered him to. The clock began ticking...

"Do you trust him, sir?" Red asked as the two of them watched the alien fly into the distance.

The Saiyan smiled. "I have no doubt that he will be back, Red. He has spent his whole life in servitude, and therefore does not know anything else but obeying commands. But just because I have sent him out to run an errand, it doesn't mean that you're off the hook. I know you do not plan on coming with me to Vegeta, and I have allowed this, but I need to test your loyalty as much as anyone else's. So, your mission is to find a weak defenseless family, and bring them back to me in the same condition as I have told Shiyan to. In this family, I want a mother, a father and a child. A baby is a bonus to the addition. Oh, and try not to mess up their faces too much. I want people to see them in plain daylight, the anguish that was caused,"

The Saiyan warrior adored the new darkness inside of him. The evil grin that lurked on his face would certainly be enough to give any child nightmares.

"But be sure not to be seen. Hide yourself, I don't want anyone knowing of the red Namekian,"

Red nodded, just the same as Shiyan had done just moments before, before he himself took off in the same fashion, in a different direction. This was a far harder test, but Namekian's were known for their compassion and peacefulness. For Valentil to fully trust him, he would need to know that Red did not possess these certain qualities.

Now, all Valentil had to do was play the waiting game. He had issued out his evil deeds of the day, and within an hour he would either be greeted with dismembered corpses, or a nice little hunting mission, which, again would end with dismembered corpses...only this time they would be by his own hand.

The next hour passed as slowly as expected. There wasn't much for the Saiyan to do but to sit and wait. He could quite easily have constantly checked up on his henchmen's progress, but he just couldn't be bothered. It was true that Valentil had known both of them for a very insignificant amount of time, but he could still feel that underlining of trust between them. Which was essential for any group.

Valentil sat in wait, but not for long, as he could hear the soaring of flight in the air. Despite Shiyan having a head start on his mission, the two had been able to arrive back to Valentil almost Simultaneously. Each equipped with a heavy sack. Excellent.

Red and Shiyan landed on the ground, and walked into the ground, both dropping their respective full bags at the same time, and stood next to them with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

"Excellent work, and with time to spare as well. Even better,"

The Saiyan warrior moved over to inspect their work. The bags had been filled exactly as instructed, and the remnants of the sacks were even better than Valentil had hoped for. Dismembered flesh and blood filling the cave with a stench to which no normal man could appreciate.

"For now, Red, your service with me is complete. I hope to see you again soon enough, as we both strive to gain in power. But now I must take my leave of you, and Shiyan shall accompany me back to the nearest city. It's time that we spread some more fear in this world, even if we don't quite announce our presence fully,"

Valentil took up one of the bags, the one in which Red had delivered to him, and pointed at the other bag, signalling Shiyan to once again pick up the other bag.

"It has been an honour to help you, sir, and I look forward to joining you once again in the future,"

The Saiyan nodded at the red Namekian as he and Shiyan took to the skies, heading off towards the nearest city on Frieza. It was a shame that Red wasn't going to be accompanying them, but he knew that the Namekian would be a far more useful ally in the future.

"What are we going to do with the corpses, Master Valentil?" Asked the alien as the two of them gradually got closer to the city.

"Well, I thought it was about time that we inflicted a little fear in this world Shiyan. I don't want to make our presence known completely, so we'll have to be a little discreet in our actions. What I plan on doing is dropping these body parts all over the city. I only wish we had more...but oh well,"

Shiyan had the same grin as Valentil had had when he had come up with the idea, which was definitely a promising thing, considering he enjoyed the act of evil deeds. Probably from having spent his whole life with a somewhat evil race.

The city was now in sight, and the two warriors hovered close to it, readying themselves for what they were about to do. Everything was now in place, the tools, the city and the smirk that covered Valentil's face as he began to rummage through his bag of goodies.

"It's time, Shiyan. Get ready to cause some havok,"

Luckily for the Saiyan and his lacky, many people seemed to be out in the city, as opposed to being cooped up inside, and as the two of them reached the city centre, which held the majority of the population roaming around, they began to relieve themselves of their gifts towards the people of Frieza.

It wasn't long before the screams and cries could be heard below as the citizens began to notice the pieces of corpses raining down upon them. Valentil couldn't help but laugh, as there was no real reason for him to be doing this, apart from to finally revel in his darker side. It was especially glorious seeing the GNN turn up, trying to get the latest scoop on the situation, only for the journalist to be struck by a baby's arm. Terrific.

It was odd to think how much Valentil had changed just in a few hours. He was certainly not a full-blown tyrant...not yet anyway, but the change was clearly evident. From a seemling calm, calculated warrior, into a ruthless, cold-hearted beast was definitely something that could be seen.

The Saiyan's plans would most certainly change from here on out, at least in the full scheme of things anyway. Valentil still had high hopes for attaining his elite status amongst the Saiyan race, and continue on his path to increasing his power as he had done his whole life. But now, what had been added to that was what would come after. The actual use of his gifts for his own personal gain, and not just in a mild way either, but to gain fear and respect across the Universe. There would be no time for anything small now.

And of course, there still laid his plans for his revenge. The family that had so quickly written him off, and tossed him aside like common trash would now have to answer for their crimes. The rage that burned inside of the Saiyan would make sure of that.

But there was much more as well, Valentil, being a Saiyan loved the thought of a good fight, but with the anger that now dwelled inside of him, the very will to battle had intensified ten fold. It wasn't just about getting stronger, but proving his strength against others, about making those around him fear and respect his very being, and to cause pain to those who were delusional enough to actually think they stood a chance against this warrior. Yes, there were people that would throw Valentil aside like a rag doll, but he would soon catch them up, as long as the intensity of his training remained as bold as it had always been.

However, with his visit to Vegeta approaching fast, Valentil knew that his new found...awesomeness (he'd call it that anyway), would have to be put on hold just a little. Bottled up inside until the opportune time, when he was cemented into the Saiyan ranks, and could once again unleash his true self.
