With a sharp kick to the side of the head, Ayakon was knocked to the ground by his loyal minion Suiji. He growled and moved to stand again, noting that Suiji gave him the space to do so. "What are you doing?" His minion met his gaze and said, "Sir?" He unclenched his fists slightly, unsure if he had damaged his master's pride more than his body. "You had the advantage," Ayakon demanded, "You did not press it. I am not giving you the honor of sparring with me just so you can go easy on me!" He wiped a small bit of purpleish blood off of his jaw, his breath a little heavy. "But sir, surely your awareness that I had the advantage took away a portion of it?" Suiji was winded at the very least, being pressed just as hard as his master, but doing a slightly better job of not showing it, if only out of duty. "Yes, but you gave me no chance to see how I would fare against it. Imagining a situation and fighting it are two very different things, Suiji." He resumed a fighting stance again and said, "We go again." Suiji nodded and took a step back, resuming a fighting stance of his own. "As you wish, sir." Unfortunately before either of them could throw the first blow, a messenger arrived bearing the insignia of Lord Frost. "I seek Ayakon of the Brumal clan." Ayakon dropped his stance, folded his arms and turned to the messenger, "You have found him." "I have a message for you from Lord Frost." He handed an envelope over to Ayakon, but Suiji stepped forward and took it, "My Master thanks you, sir." The messenger gave a firm nod and turned to go. Ayakon stopped him with a question, "Lord Frost does not request a reply?" "The message will answer all of that. Good day, Ayakon of Brumal clan." WC: 309 TWC: 309 |

Ayakon turned to Suiji and said, "Open it. Any correspondence from Lord Frost should not be withheld." Suiji opened the envelope and removed the letter, allowing three smaller pieces of paper to drop to the ground as he did. Ayakon ignored them for the moment and took a seat, allowing himself a moment off his feet. Suiji handed him the letter and he read:
Ayakon stared at the letter for several moments then snapped his head to the side and looked at Suiji, "Do you know the location of the Lawe Inn?" "The Lawe Inn sir? It's in the... Ignus encampment." The words left his mouth with a hint of distaste. "Not an advisable place to visit." "Most places that require visiting are not," Ayakon waved his hand, "Continue." Suiji was quiet for a moment while he gathered his thoughts. It was his business to know things like this, so that his master didn't have to. "It's located north of here, part of a larger refugee area for non-changelings and other... unsavory sorts." Fortunately they were still on the planet Frieza. Suiji knew it well, but his knowledge did not extend much farther than that. Ayakon nodded. He picked the smaller pieces of paper off of the floor and looked them over as he considered Suiji's words. "Unsavory sorts indeed." He muttered. A moment later, as he stuffed them into his training garb, he inquired further, "North of here, isn't it? How long would it take us to get there if we left now?" Suiji calculated the relative distance, "I would expect at least a few hours. But you aren't at peak physical condition, sir. In all honesty, nor am I. We have been training." "I am aware. But time is of the essence, Suiji. When Lord Frost asks-- correction: tells you to do something, you should immediately wonder why you are not already doing it." He rose to his feet then turned to leave the room, expecting his loyal underling to follow. WC: 393 TWC: 702 |

Several hours of quiet travel got them out of the city and moving towards the Ignus encampment. "Encampment" was an overstatement, as it was, in Ayakon's opinion, barely more than a mish-mash of cobbled together buildings that served as homes and places of business. Definitely not somewhere someone would choose to live or work, more likely a last ditch effort by some creatures to remain on the planet. The Changeling garnered attention simply by moving towards it. There were almost none of his kind here, and those that came usually came for a purpose. Needless to say, this was hardly a place one visited simply to relax. As they began to walk the streets Ayakon spoke softly to Suiji, "Do you happen to know exactly where in this... place the Inn is? I would rather not spend a moment longer than I need to." He dug his toes into the ground and frowned ever so slightly. The smell of this place. "My apologies, sir, but I do not. I've never set foot in this place myself, I only know hearsay." Suiji looked around, "I suspect I could ask some of the locals, if you'd like." He offered this hopefully, suspecting that it was the most peaceful way to find whatever it was they needed. In all honesty he was still uncertain as to what their final goal was. "But why let you have all the fun, my dear boy?" Ayakon's tail swished about behind him, "If we are going to be here for more than a few minutes, I'd like to do some of the legwork. Where does one gather information in a place like this? A pub, I would suppose?" He set off in search of something that looked approximately like some sort of tavern. Suiji grimaced as he followed, "As you wish, sir." WC: 305 TWC: 1007 |

A tattered building with the front door attached by one hinge looked as good a place as any to start. The strong scent of alcohol and depression lingering in the air signaled that this was likely the sort of tavern Ayakon was searching for. "Wait here, Suiji, I shouldn't be too terribly long." "Yes sir." Suiji stood to the side, awaiting as instructed. He pushed through the door, effectively breaking its last hinge. It clattered to the ground as he marched purposefully in. He cleared his throat and loudly said, "If I could have the attention of the room, please, I require information." He stood in his normal, self-important stance, arms folded as always. A few of the patrons looked over at him, some startled that he was even there, others upset that he'd disturbed the room for his own selfish purposes. "I am looking for a place that calls itself the Lawe Inn. Anyone who can give me information as to its whereabouts earns a shiny zeni." That should be some sort of compensation for this. He looked around and awaited a reply. One of the more inebriated patrons stumbled to his feet and sauntered over to Aya, "Juss what makes you think you can marsh in here and demand all kinds of information from us, huh? Damn Changelings are all ali--" He was cut off by the swift movement of Ayakon's tail wrapping around his neck and lifting him off the ground, albeit barely. Physical strength was still not his strong suit. The Changeling hadn't moved otherwise and didn't even acknowledge the action taken, except to say, "I will not repeat myself." The drunkard gagged and grabbed blindly at Ayakon's tail, attempting to loosen the grasp in any way possible. The rest of the room had fallen silent. The majority, if not all of them, could not sense Ayakon's strength and therefore weren't aware that it was sheer intimidation that caused him to hold the room. To them, it seemed like a Changeling, known to be among the most powerful races in the universe, had marched in and demanded information. And to them, it appeared that he was willing to take lives in order to get it. Finally, one of the patrons spoke up, albeit extremely nervously, "L-Lawe Inn is on the other side of the encampment. Th-the building with the reddish roof. That way." He pointed towards his left. "You can follow the road there." "There now." Ayakon set the drunkard down, ignoring him as he stumbled onto his ass, coughing and gasping for breath. "That wasn't so hard, was it? I'm sorry, but the offer for the zeni expired with this idiot." His tail jerked towards the patron on the floor,"I bid you all a good day." The Changeling turned and left without another word. "Did everything go as planned, sir?" Suiji looked up as Ayakon stepped outside. "Just as intended." Ayakon nodded with a smirk on his face. "We'll be heading that way." He tilted his head in the direction he had been given. "Shouldn't be too long now. I expect we'll be back home in time for a short breakfast before we return to training." And he began walking, expecting Suiji to follow as always. WC: 542 TWC: 1549 |

The Lawe Inn had, as described, a sanguine-colored roof and looked as though it was barely standing. Cobbled together from bits of other buildings, it was among the better looking buildings in the encampment. Its door, at least, was completely on but at the moment was completely open. "What a welcoming place." Ayakon said briskly. "Let's pay a visit, shall we, Suiji?" He headed inside. "It seems we must, sir." Suiji followed obediently as always. As he stepped in, Ayakon pulled out the images contained within the message from Lord Frost. He examined them then looked around the room. None of the three appeared to be in the lobby, and so he turned to the service desk and set the images on the desk. "I am looking for these three, please." The creature behind the service desk examined the images and then looked up at the Changeling, "Uh. They asked not to be disturbed." "Oh I'm sure." Ayakon nodded, "But this is a pressing matter, you see. It won't take but a moment and then I'll leave." His face was completely neutral, any menacing thoughts or preparations within had been suppressed. "Uh... Fine. They're up on the second floor. Third room on the left," The service desk employee responded, clearly just wanting Aya to go away as soon as possible. Ayakon nodded at the information and turned to head upstairs. As he left Suiji said, "Thank you." to the employee and turned to follow his master. Ayakon headed up to the room and stood in front of the closed door. Suiji joined him a moment later. The former was silent for a moment before he said, "I was sent to kill them." "I inferred, sir." "It will earn me favor with Lord Frost, and a chance to train with him." "At the cost of three lives." Ayakon grimaced slightly, "Just cover me in there. Even out the fight if necessary but not before." "As you wish, sir." WC: 327 TWC: 1876 |

Deep breaths. Center yourself. You have the element of surprise. Ayakon burst into the room and stopped only to ensure that the three aliens he was after were in the room. Once he located them, one on each of the two beds and another standing by the window, he rushed in and attacked. Charging first towards the one near the window, Aya slammed hard into him and knocked him through it. WIthout checking to see if that'd finished him off, he spun and slammed his tail hard onto the one on the left bed, then raised it and slammed it again. The element of surprise was over by now and the third alien rose to fight him. Being unable to sense energy himself, Ayakon was unaware of this. But fortunately he had backup. "Suiken!" Suiji fired a burst of ki from his open palm, steadying his arm by holding his wrist with the other hand. The burst of energy flew so quickly that it couldn't be stopped, and it smashed the third alien dead on, causing whatever attack he was preparing to falter, and also giving Ayakon the awareness of an impending attack. The Changeling shot a quick jab at the third alien, who was still a bit dazed from the surprise blast, then followed it up by closing in and elbowing him in the face. Following that, he grabbed at the hem of his shirt and shoved him towards the window, taking a step back himself. As he did, the first alien he attacked rose back to the second floor. Bukujutsu. The ability to fly. Something Ayakon had yet to master, but was hesitant to admit. No matter. With all three of the aliens in roughly the same place he could finish the work that needed to be done. Fighting was not the most popular thing amongst the Brumal clan, but there was one technique they excelled at. Ayakon summoned his ki and opened his mouth firing three rapid blasts in the general direction of the three grouped up aliens. After waiting a simple moment to catch his breath, Ayakon repeated the three blasts before finally stopping, breathing heavily and waiting for the smoke to clear. When it finally did, the remains of corpses of two aliens lay crumpled in a heap, along with several new holes in the walls of the inn. Ayakon stepped forward and looked out the shattered window, noting that the third's remains had fallen to the street below. Looking almost bored, but unable to hide the fact that his breathing was a bit heavy, Ayakon muttered, "See if one of them has a knife or something, Suiji. I'd rather only bring heads back if we can. This should get me in with Lord Frost." WC: 460 TWC:2336/1800 |
