Sarge of ADBZ

First, a summary of relevant rules so that you don't have to search to find them. Then... the opening post. Stats: Strength: This is rather self-explanatory. Strength will prove useful in moving objects around, making kills in melee combat, forcing locked doors open, and even holding unsecured defenses against the undead hordes. Speed: Same as above in terms of self-explanation. Speed determines how fast you can run, how easy it is for you to escape from zombies, and how many blows you can make in melee combat before an attacker gets you in a position that they can strike. Reflex: A bit similar to speed, this measures how fast you are - but in reaction time. A world-class sprinter that takes three seconds to react is as easy to chow down on as a couch potato. Reflex will be a largely defensive stat, measuring your ability to avoid danger and react to sudden incursions. By no means does Reflex make you able to defend against anything, though - reacting more quickly to 100 zombies surrounding you in a hotel hallway with no exits isn't likely to help. Much. Stamina: This stat is a passive but important one. Stamina measures your endurance, your fatigue, your ability to continue. The longer your character goes without sleeping, without getting proper nourishment, or the farther along they get in infection stages, the worse their performance will be as their Stamina is drained. While being infected has no cure, taking a long sleep or having a full belly will do wonders for restoring the stamina of someone who has been overworking themselves. Dexterity: A similar term to reflex, but in this game it's use is quite different. Dexterity measures your ability to use your muscles in complex ways, or very delicate ones. Climbing walls, especially unstable ones, is extremely difficult for characters with low dexterity, and it also makes landing what could be a difficult hit with a melee weapon easier as the character has better control, even of unwieldy weapons. Picking locks is also an option for very dextrous characters, and even sneaking past unaware Zombies. Intelligence: A measure of brainpower, Intelligence is a lot more useful than one might thing during a Z-Day event. Intelligent constructors can make better barricades with the same material as a less educated survivor, and will be much more likely to notice slight details that others miss. This means that intelligent characters will get more detailed information without having to specifically seek it out. Accuracy: Accuracy only has one function, but it is a very important one. Similar to one of dexterity's functions, Accuracy increases the ability to hit, but much, much more dramatically than a versatile stat like Dexterity. And it also increases firearms accuracy. Perks: Iron Stomach - Get hungry & thirsty slower, eat expired food safely. Sprinter - Temporary boost to speed when in mortal danger. Night Shift - Better performance to all tasks when on low energy (compared to someone without the perk). Resistance: Harder to infect. Healthy: Improved performance in all physical aspects Deep Sleep: Bonus energy regained while sleeping Sixth Sense: Sense danger before it happens (This can be as obvious as a nagging feeling you get [sent by AIM/PM by me] or something as simple as nervousness. Can be difficult to tell from simple fear being RPed, and may not warn against certain threats, so not a fool-proof danger avoidance ability) Calm & Collected: Receive no performance degradation in high-stress/life-or-death situations. Observant: You notice things that others do not. Repairman: You're an expert at fixing things or constructing things. Statistics: Hunger: Refilled by food/water, it affects your physical performance first, then your mental abilities, then your skill performance. Sleep: Refilled by resting. It affects your mental abilities, then your skills, then your physical abilities. Infection: This is a statistic that you have no idea of. It is a % which is not displayed, but is extremely important. Each time you come into contact with infected material, from a zombie bite to zombie's blood spraying into open wounds, your mouth, or your eyes, this goes up. When it reaches 100%, that's it, game over. Over a somewhat-lengthy amount of time your character will begin to degrade, until they can no longer function, and die. At this point they will become a zombie. Depending on their positioning and whether they kept it a secret or not, this could be a potentially disastrous move for the survival team. Talents: Eagle Eyes - Better accuracy with all ranged weapons; more likely to find things Precision Hitter - Better accuracy with melee weapons Survivalist - Improved skills with fortifying, stealth, and shooting Chef - If you prepare food, it increases hunger by significantly more Soldier - Better stamina, less degradation from low sleep, better combat skills Looter - More likely to find items when searching Firearms Collector - Expert at fixing broken and malfunctioning firearms Gentle Touch - Objects are less likely to break when you use them; guns are less likely to malfunction Ask Me About My Zombie Plan - You've read the Zombie Survival Guide, and you remember every word. When a situation comes up where this knowledge is advantageous, you receive a significant advantage. Post Rotation/Phase Order: -Introductory Phase *A post at the very beginning of each round. It details any new happenings the players will be aware of, as well as the current whereabouts and statuses of each player. This includes hunger and sleep. -Action Phase *A post by each player describing what they are doing, and/or what they will be doing throughout the day. Essentially, the details of everything your character will do with his time. Keep in mind that the longer the time, and the less things you do, the more thorough your job will be and/or the more likely it will be to be successful. You can either RP your decision-making here, if in a group, or decide via AIM or other OOC means, just don't clutter this place with 5 posts each per Action Phase. From the introductory post there are exactly 72 hours for your final posts to be in before I move on to the Reaction Phase. -Reaction Phase *Another post by me detailing the results of the players' actions, any special events that happened, and any individual events that may have happened to any particular player (EX. Gosai gets attacked by a mob of zombies while searching for supplies in the rooms.). These will be followed through in the Events/Roleplay Phase -Events/Roleplay Phase *This is where anyone I called out in the Reaction phase has to RP their way to safety, to bounty... or to death. Pretty simple, actually; a few behind-the-scenes rolls and estimations based on factors including statistics, Perks, Talents, and the situation itself, and we have our result. -Secondary Reaction Phase *This is where the remainder of the Reaction phase carries out; for example, if you were interrupted during the fortification of a door or window by a lone zombie, once you kill that zombie you'll probably go right back to fortifying, not abandon it. So assuming you manage to down the Zack, you'll get more work done. -Wrap-up phase. This functions to cover anything that won't be addressed in the Introductory post of the next round; either won't be used at all, or won't have much in it. Introductory Phase: Place: Southeastern Manhattan Hotel/Apartment Complex Time: 4:37 PM Date: 6/13/2012 The makeshift convention hall absolutely rings with activity as ADBZ members begin to acquaint themselves in person - for most of them, the first time - with the other members on the site. Banners are hung over booths run by figures the likes of Alex, peddling his book as well as various T-shirts made for the occasion; D.J. Westercamp, the face behind Sanara, selling off food and drink to supplement the few supplies the hotel was willing to provide; a handful of artists from the site who prepared drawings of the characters on the site to entice the owners of them; even Fonos, having compiled a list of the funniest moments in the ADBZ CBox in booklet-form. Money is exchanged, but more importantly, greetings and laughs as well. With most members relieved of summer schooling duties and the rest on vacations so that they are able to attend. The only person not enjoying the festivities would be the old man in the north apartment on the second floor, somewhat disturbed by the loudness. His complaints, however, were met with skepticism by the hotel/apartment building manager for the simple fact that he had complained about nearly every tenant the building had previously had. Time wore on, and eventually booths were lifted and tossed to the side. The convention hall suddenly became an open floor, and from seeming nowhere a gathering of dozens of nerf dart guns were produced. Child-like vests were produced from a similar wormhole of mystery and suddenly the entire arena erupted in a massive game - which lasted for quite some time, coming down to a near-draw between Jacob Mansfield, roleplayer of the infamous Jordan, and Matrium, Gon's writer. In the end, Jacob manages to land a handful more darts on his foe, however, as Matrium tires quickly as the battle drags on, and Jacob claims the win. That is, until Pan reveals herself on a second-story balcony overlooking the open room by firing a dart through a nerf sniper and landing a perfect shot on Jacob's temple. Perhaps having too much fun can be a bad thing, when it makes you let your guard down for even a moment. Of course, Jacob does little more than mutter a curse word that barely qualifies as such before laughing along with the rest of them; the day's festivities have put everyone in a jolly mood. The day was still young however, and there was much to be done. There were still plenty who had not officially met each other, and there were many hours left before the convention had to close for the night to avoid disturbing the other guests... Let the party begin. Reaction Phase: Roleplay Phase: Players: End (Name: Dynaon) Jordan (Name: Jacob Mansfield) Gon (Name: Matrium) Amy (Name: Mango/Remy) Osiris (Austin)??? Eski (James) Future Gohan (Jack) If you want in look up the sheet from the previous topic. You all have one week from the day of this edit (Dec. 26th) to do your RPs before next phase starts |

Site Noob until I revenge kill Toma

Sanara's been threatening to ban me if I don't post, so I've thrown something together: “This looks pretty cool,” Jack said as he walked into the party. He looked around, and realised he didn’t know who anyone was. He had probably talked to all of them, behind their online masks, but he’d only see pictures of a few of them in the real. He wondered if he would be criticised for being underage. Sixteen wasn’t too young, was it? The bouncer had certainly given him a hard time about it, but screw him. “We all need badges,” he said to himself absently, as he walked to a table where food was being sold. “With our character’s names on them, so we know each other.” With that thought in mind, he bought himself a large muffin and a milkshake, devouring his sugary lunch quickly. Hopefully that would give him energy for whatever the day might hold ahead of him. It turned out he would need that energy: Later in the day nerf guns were revealed, and Jack helped himself to a sweet sniper rifle. Crouched on the second floor balcony, Jack had an almost full view of the arena, and he began to silently pick people off. One…two…three…Jack watched, smiling, as the many below began to take out each other, faster than he was shooting them down. Soon, there were only two left. He wasn’t sure who they were, but he began to take aim for the one who had the upper hand, more or less. Suddenly, something stole his attention. His eyes darted up, to the balcony across from him, where another sniper rifle was pointed at him. “Oh, shit.” The shot landed right between Jack’s eyes and he fell back, dead like Future Gohan. “Ahh, damnit.” He said, retrieving an iPod from his pocket and opening Angry Birds, hoping to entertain himself until the end of the war.
