To anyone outside his own mind, Ayakon was feeling pretty great about things at the moment. His power had increased drastically under Lord Frost's tutelage, and he'd even attained his first transformation, albeit under unusual circumstances. He was, seemingly, growing a bit too arrogant despite his still relatively low power level. Unknown to anyone besides himself, this was to compensate for his recent doubts. He'd grown more and more tired of having to slaughter people for his own gain, specifically if they had not specifically wronged him.

Suiji, his loyal minion, had noticed only the arrogance but was reluctant to say anything about it. Still, he was a bit upset with the darker turns his master had taken in order to obtain said power. He'd seen some light in the darkness, but it was quickly fading. He decided it was best to broach this subject, but went about it as carefully as possible. His master's strength had far surpassed his own and he wasn't certain if his arrogance had gotten to the point where he felt he no longer needed any companions.

It was during a brief period of rest that he decided to bring it up, "How has your training with Lord Frost been going, sir?"

"Hm? Oh. Exhilarating, Suiji." Ayakon smiled, "I've been learning new techniques and my power has grown exponentially. I'm sure that very soon, I'll be able to work my way into the PTO. Can you imagine, Suiji? Your Master, finally working for the Planet Trade Organization. That's when everything will be fine." He glanced at his underling, "I'm sure I'll bring you with me, dear boy."

"Er... That's... that's fantastic, sir, but truth be told I have been--"

His sentence was interrupted by Ayakon's eyes growing wide as the one covered by the scouter pointed suddenly to his left. He reacted instinctively by shoving Suiji backwards while jumping back himself. A sphere of energy shot between where the two had been moments before, traveling beyond them to the far wall, where it exploded in a burst of power. "What in Frost's name was that? Who would dare?"

"I'm sorry." A cloaked alien a bit shorter than Suiji said as he walked closer, "I suppose I gave myself away with that, didn't I? Don't worry, the next one won't miss." He held his hand out and fired off another sphere straight at Ayakon.

As he was speaking, however, Suiji had closed the gap between them and jumped forward in front of his master, smacking the ki blast away with a swipe of his hand. This clearly took something from him, however, as he rubbed his hand and forearm afterwards. Still, he stood stalwart in front of his master, "Name yourself, villain."

"My name is unnecessary, and you would be wise to stay out of affairs between your master and I. That is, unless your underling fights all of your battles for you, Ayakon of the Brumal clan?"

This clearly struck a nerve with Aya, "Get out of the way, Suiji. If this bastard wishes to fight me, his request will be granted."

"That's what I'm looking for. Don't worry though, I'll dispatch of your little... friend afterwards, as my treat," He said with a smirk in his voice, cloaked head turning to Suiji. This would prove to be a mistake.

Ayakon, due to either the challenge or the threat to his underling, kicked off and charged at the cloaked and unnamed villain. He surprised him with a quick cross chop to the chest, then headbutted him, relying on the hard protective plate on his forehead to inflict as much damage as possible. His plan was a success, as the cloaked creature stumbled backwards and didn't immediately retaliate.

"Perfect." Aya took advantage of this by pressing forward and spinning into a hard tail swipe, then finished by shooting a burst of ki from his mouth straight into the chest of the mysterious man. It wasn't quite enough to kill him, but it was damn close. The figure crumpled to the ground, breathing heavily and bleeding just as badly. "Now," Aya said, "How about that name?"

The figure, still breathing heavily, raised a hand and began to form a ki ball very slowly. Too slowly.

Ayakon knocked his hand to the side and stomped on his chest. He pressed down with all of his weight until he heard a crack, and then another. When the creature stopped moving, he lifted his leg, stomped hard once more for good measure, then said, "I suppose you die nameless then."

He turned to Suiji, "Search him. I want to know exactly why I was attacked." Then took several steps away. The short bout had not quite winded him, but there was always some small strain in fighting. Aya moved to sit back down in the mean time, patiently waiting to find out exactly what the hell.

Suiji, who had just watched this display of his master's power, shook off his dumbfounded stare and nodded, moving as commanded after a second or two. He searched within the robes of what turned out to be an alien Suiji could not place, attempting to find some form of identification. Finally, he stumbled upon a sealed letter marked 'Upon your victory'. He read the title aloud to Ayakon, who turned and snatched it out of his minion's hand, tearing it open and reading aloud,

Quote:

Ayakon--

You have done well these past few weeks. You are almost becoming a pupil worthy of a master such as myself. Your falter in resolve as of late has been brought to my attention. This will rid you of it, one way or another. I would like to see you prove yourself in a much more dangerous situation, so I've put a price on your head. Five of my best assassins are out for you, with an extremely large bounty up for grabs. The one you have no doubt killed is the weakest among them. Have fun.

--Lord Frost

PS: They, and you, have a time limit of twenty four standard hours. I'll require their badges as proof of their demise, or your head as proof of yours.

Ayakon couldn't help but laugh at the letter, "Well I suppose I have no choice. Did he have a badge on him, Suiji?"

Suiji searched for a second then pulled out a portion of what was once a circular badge, "Yes sir, but I'm afraid your blast destroyed part of it."

"Well that should suffice, I believe. Hold on to it, would you? We're going to be very busy being hunted for the next few hours. We should get out of town before more of our training grounds are ruined." He turned to leave.

Suiji followed, but hesitated for the first time in a while,"Sir, more lives to be taken? Isn't there a way out of this?"

Ayakon stopped in his tracks. His voice was cold, but almost falsely so, "Lord Frost has set the terms of the game, Suiji. We will not belittle ourselves by trying to get out of it. Now let us go, we are wasting time."

As seemed to happen often to Ayakon, he found himself heading out of town, towards the glacial areas of planet Frieza. Since his mastery of the ability of flight (which proved relatively easy for the most part) he was all too eager to make use of it. Followed closely by Suiji, he soared through the cityscape, heading to the northern parts of the planet, figuring he could flush out his would-be assassins as they tried to follow him. Unfortunately, he didn't take into account that he made himself vulnerable by flying out in the open like this, and realized his mistake far too late.

"HA!" A voice above them shouted. Before he could react, Ayakon felt the searing energy smashing into his back and throwing him hard off course. He struggled to keep afloat as he turned to face his attacker, only to find nothing there. He turned to his underling, "Suiji, did you see where that came from?" His ability to sense ki was still non-existent, and the attack had happened too quickly for his Scouter to register it.

"No sir." Suiji was searching just as hard as his master, but could find nothing either. "I can't seem to find anything."

Ayakon rose higher into the air and shouted, "Show yourself, coward!"

"I am visible. It's not my fault if you can't see me." The voice echoed, bouncing off of buildings and making it hard to place. Another burst of ki shot at Ayakon, this time he caught a glimpse of it hurtling towards him and managed to twist his body at the last moment, only taking a graze of the energy. It still knocked him down a meter or two. He turned to where the blast had come from, finding nothing. Face distorting as anger began to rise within him, he shouted, "This is no way to fight, weakling! You'll never beat me this way!" He had nothing against moving quickly, but this non-stop hit and run nonsense was cowardice in his eyes.

"Oh I think I will." The echoing voice said, "And it looks like this is the end." There was the very familiar noise that accompanied blurred speed right beside him, and Ayakon turned just in time to see another shadowy attacker standing inches from him with his palms held out in front of him. He opened his mouth to name his attack--

And was met with a loud shout, combined with a burst of energy coming forth from Ayakon and forcing the assassin back and interrupting whatever he'd been planning, "Now I've got you!"

Aya flew forward and jammed his elbow into the attacker's face, following it up with a quick punch to his gut. This was hurriedly followed by another headbutt, but Aya found no purchase in this slam, and was instead forced forward by his own attack. The assassin had sped away again.

"By Frost, I will end you!" Ayakon's rage began to get the best of him, he hated sneaky tricks like this. He considered them dishonorable and petty. He stopped moving and waited. If this assassin wanted the bounty he'd have to show himself again, if only to make one more strike.

Sure enough, above Aya the assassin hovered, and attempted to charge a ki attack in his hands. The blast was growing in size but at a very slow rate. Beads of sweat were forming on the assassin's forehead.

"Master Brumal, above you!" Suiji had been watching the battle (if one could call it that) from afar, and could only offer this warning due to his distance.

His scouter confirmed it, and Ayakon looked up just in time. He inhaled deeply, gathering ki for his family's signature attack, and fired the beam just as the assassin fired his. Ayakon forced more energy into his ki, overcoming the relatively weak blast by the alien being. The result was an explosion of energy right in the attacker's face. Aya shot upwards to follow it up, rising through the smoke to float above his opponent.

As the smoke cleared, he grabbed a badge similar to the other from the cloak of his current foe, then tossed it up in the air, clasped his hands together into one massive fist and smashed it down on his would-be assassin's skull, knocking him forcefully down to the ground. The impact was evidence enough that he would not be getting back up. He caught the badge as gravity brought it back down to him and said, "Speed alone does not a fighter make." Then looked over at his underling, "There are still three more of them, Suiji, we should make haste out of the city. I'm sure Lord Frost would hate it if I ruined anymore of his land." If Ayakon was growing tired from these near back to back assaults, he was doing a wonderful job of not showing it.

Once they were out of the city, heading towards the frosty wilderness of planet Frieza, Ayakon glanced over at his servant, who was flying just a bit behind him, "Are you alright, Suiji?"

Suiji kept looking straight forward, "I'm fine, sir. I was just about to consider asking you the same thing."

"Hm. What a silly thought. I'm fine. But the winds are kicking up. Finding some sort of shelter would not be an unwise idea. Now where can we..." Fortunately this wasn't a complete lie, there was an increase in the howling winds, and it was a nice excuse to relax for a bit. After a few more minutes he managed to spot a cave almost concealed by the white tundra, "There." He motioned his head towards it and began to drift towards that direction. Suiji followed.

The cave was empty, though bones in the far corner indicated that something probably lived there at some point, "Frost wolves." Ayakon muttered, "Let's hope for their sake they remain out on the hunt while we rest here." He took a seat a few feet within the cave and slid down to a sitting position, closing his eyes but keeping his Scouter on. "A few hours sleep should restore me to my fullest..." He murmured, as he drifted off to sleep.

Beebeebeep.

The Scouter went off, indicating a sudden display of power. Ayakon opened his eyes, and they went wide immediately as he saw what had set it off. A massive fist heading straight for his face, charged with ki. He jerked his head to the side as the fist was buried to the wrist into the icy stone behind him. That blow would have definitely killed him had his Scouter not gone off. "Another coward!" Aya barked, jumping up and landing both of his feet on his foe's buried arm as if to try to break it. He had something a little better in mind.

He kicked off and backflipped, using not quite enough force to break his opponent's arm, but using enough to complete a backflip and give himself some distance from his opponent, hoping for a chance to size him up. He got a look at his opponent. An untransformed Changeling, clearly, but one that was unnaturally muscular. The opposite of the last one. Fantastic. Aya thought back to his last fight against such a monstrous brute, the Changeling Frore, who he'd managed to impale. That wouldn't be possible this time. He gave his surroundings a quick looking over. Impaling wasn't possible, but using his surroundings was still an option. He turned his attention back to the Changeling assassin. "Let me guess, you're the big slow one?" He took a few steps back as he taunted his foe, "Well let's get this over with, shall we?"

The next would-be assassin grumbled and yanked his fist from the wall, turning to Ayakon, "This will be over soon. Frost promised a lot of money for you." He shot a surprisingly quick punch straight at Ayakon, one that connected and hit him square in the chest. He stumbled back, not expecting the speed. It wasn't overwhelmingly fast, just faster than he'd been expecting.

"Impressive, brute." Aya grabbed his chest. The armor he was wearing had absorbed a small bit of the blow, but not enough. Ayakon was winded by that single blow. He knew he couldn't let it happen again. "Perhaps you could try another one that would actually hurt?" Though there was pain on his face, the bluff actually worked and seemed to enrage the large Changeling. He began to throw wild haymakers at Ayakon, ones that were more predictable and easier to dodge. "Wonderful! This is almost like fighting an actual opponent!" This taunting was successfully driving the Changeling into a frenzied fury, blurring his thoughts and vision with anger and making him that much more clumsy and reckless. Exactly what Aya wanted.

His brash swings and tail lashings were crashing against the walls of the cave, causing the ceiling to begin to shake, "Come on now! You'll never get that reward if you can't kill me, and you'll never kill me if you can't hit me!" This assassin was completely unaware of his surroundings, and Aya was using that to his advantage. Every step brought him closer to the cave's opening, and almost every missed swing loosened the ice lining the interior of the cave and the snow covering the above mountain. And there was a lot of both.

As Ayakon stepped outside of the cave into the harsh winds, he took a moment to glance to his side to ensure his underling had gotten out as well. Sure enough, Suiji had caught on to his plan and had backed out. With a smirk, Aya aimed a blow not at the Changeling himself, but at the wall, one final solid kick to solidify things. Or rather, loosen them up. With a low rumble, the cave began to collapse upon itself, chunks of ice falling to the ground. Too late the Changeling assassin realized his mistake and attempted to rush past Aya to get out.

But of course this wouldn't do. Ayakon fired a blast of ki from his mouth into the other Changeling's face, then followed it with another, causing him to stumble backwards, grabbing his face and shouting in rage. His shouts were muffled as the falling ice and snow covered the mouth of the cave. "Hm." Aya murmured, "Suiji, we should leave the ground now. This avalanche will be bigger than I predicted." The two lifted off the ground as the cave and that portion of the mountainside was covered in additional snow, burying the third assassin along with it.

Aya thought for a moment and then scowled, "Damn. I forgot to grab his badge. Looks like we've got some digging to do."

"No need, sir." Suiji held up a scratched up badge, "I took it from him as you lead him backwards. It was on his arm and relatively easy to grab. You would think he would have made some effort to hide it."

Aya took the badge and said, "Intelligence did not seem to be his strong point, nor did foresight. Nevertheless, well done, Suiji." Then turned to fly off. He hadn't had to fight that much during that last bout, so he was still feeling fairly refreshed barring that one extremely painful punch. Still, it was only two more, then this game was over.

"Sir?" Suiji, knowing his place, flew behind his master and slightly to the side.

"What is it, Suiji?" Ayakon glanced back at his underling. He didn't sound irritated, but there was an increasing tone in his voice that indicated that he had elsewhere to be.

"Have you considered--"

"I'd rather not consider things right now, Suiji. Please remain silent."

"Yes sir. My apologies."

The flight continued in silence until they'd gotten a few more kilometers north of the cityscape, where the weather was extremely cold and the harsh gale blocked most of one's eyesight. Even Aya's Scouter was starting to frost over a bit. He gave it a tap to ensure that it was still working, and the beeping he received indicated a positive response.

"Now, sir?"

"We wait. Make yourself as comfortable as you can, Suiji. I'm sure they'll find us soon."

It had been approximately twelve hours since he'd killed the first assassin. Assuming that was when the counter started, he had another twelve hours to kill these two assassins and return to Frost's palace. He took a seat, and closed his eyes, falling into a state of meditation to drive off the cold as he waited. An hour.

Then two.

And six.

Eight hours passed before his Scouter picked something up. He snapped to, now perfectly refreshed from his previous battles. Two signatures heading quickly towards him. "Both at once." He murmured, "This'll be fun." He raised his ki to its maximum, hoping to draw them forth.

Hearing this, Suiji frowned and said, "I can assist, sir, if yo--"

Ayakon cut him off, "No. The bounty is on my head, not yours. Besides, I'll not need your help. These power levels combined barely match my own." He took a fighting stance and waited for his opponents to arrive. In short time, they did, and in a conveniently clear gust of wind he got a good look at both of them. Two aliens. Twins, from the look of them. It made more sense why they'd team up if they were working together.

"Let's do this as honorable as we can." The twin on the left said. The both of them removed their badges and hurled them at the ground between them.

"Honorable indeed." Aya remarked, "I'd do the same with my head, but it would put me at a severe disadvantage. If you'd be so kind as to make the first move..." He motioned them both towards him.

They moved with impressive speed at him, their attacks well rehearsed and difficult to predict. One threw a punch towards the side of his head as the other aimed a kick from his right at his ribs. He managed dodge the punch and block the kick, but couldn't offer up any sort of counter attack, because the assault was all but relentless. They continued to work him back, forcing him completely on the defensive even scoring hits on him every now and then. Again, he was relying on his armor to take away some of the pain, but every block caused some pain, every dodge was a nearer and nearer miss. Every small hit was amalgamating to greater and greater damage.

He understood, perhaps a bit too late, why they worked together. Their attacks were perfectly synchronized, and they would wear him down long before they grew tired. He had to do something to tip the scales in his favor. He had to--

He had to transform.

Damn them for driving me to this point. Damn Frost for forcing this upon me. "Damn it all to Hell!" He crossed his arms and shot them out as he shouted forcefully, taking the two by surprise and causing them to take a unified step back. He took advantage of the moment let himself go, crossing into his second form, muscles bulking and horns growing as they usually did.

The two assassins looked surprised for a moment. They seemingly weren't aware of his ability to transform. Now the advantage was his. He rushed at the one to his left and slammed his hardened shoulder plate into his chest, then spun around and snapped his tail onto the chest of the other, preventing any sort of counter attack from behind. He continued his assault on the one in front of him, with a series of quick jabs and finally a hard kick to the stomach. He jerked his head back on instinct and found that, hunched over in this form, one of his horns had impaled the one behind him, onix spike piercing his opponent's chest.

"My brother!" The opponent before him shouted. He looked as if he was going to fly into a rage, but Ayakon knew that it wouldn't be wise to draw this battle out any longer. He lurched forward, not bothering to shake the impaled one off of his horns, and grabbed his final opponent. He stood, face to face at point blank with him, and fired a mouth blast straight at him. He released his grip and let what was left of him fall to the ground. He reached behind him and tossed the other off of his horn, letting that one fall to the ground too.

He stood still for a moment, bulking with muscle and eager for more bloodshed, taking the time to bask in his triumph.

"Sir." Suiji offered quietly from somewhere to his left, "Sir, we should get going."

He finally reverted forms and walked over to pick up the badges off the ground. Counting the one that Suiji held, he had all five now. He held his hand out to his underling, who took the hint and handed over the fifth badge. Nothing special, having all five, but turning them in to Frost would probably earn him something special.

Suiji looked at the remains of the two assassins, "Should we do something, sir? They requested an honorable battle. They fought relatively fairly, compared to the others. Perhaps an honorable buria--"

Without even thinking, his rage driving his response, Aya snapped, "We have better things to do, Suiji. Leave their corpses to the wolves." He rose up, preparing to take flight, but saw that his underling didn't immediately follow. "Unless you would care to disagree?" After a moment, Suiji rose off the ground as well. "Just as I figured."

Completely oblivious to any insulted look on Suiji's face, he tapped his Scouter to display the current standard time. There was enough left for him and Suiji to fly home and, perhaps, a quick lunch before he needed to report to Lord Frost. His opinion of Lord Frost had, to say the least, changed. He glanced back at the corpses but forced himself to look forward. Unimportant. The many thoughts floating through his mind were dismissed, however, because he had places to be.
