"Got an idea." Rem said as he came up behind Kular- who was practicing some Stance or another he was attempting to learn. Probably had something to do with wolves. Or wolf pack tactics. Whatever it was, it was sure to be something any foe would be reticent to face in battle. Thankfully, Rem was on Kulars team.

"What's that?" Kularian asked, dropping out of the stance and walking over to a bench and sitting down. He grabbed a towel next to him and draped it over his head before vigorously rubbing it, drying his sweat soaked hair. The Namekian handed him a water bottle after he'd tossed the towel back down beside him, and Kular nodded in thanks before taking the time to rehydrate. Never forget to rehydrate kids, it's essential.

"Well, really, it was Sai's idea. He was going on and on about how physical strength beat out the power of the mind, and I want to test that. And since we're closer in strength this week than I am with Sai, i figured why not try it with you." Rem explained.

"Okay, so what is the idea?" Kular asked.

"Let's arm wrestle." Rem said, stone faced.

"Wait, so let me get this straight." Kular began, almost seeming to want to laugh. "You are trying to prove the mind is stronger than the body, and want to do it with an arm wrestling match... against me?" He did laugh then, "What, are you going to hope me to submission, sure let's do this!"

The man shook his head as he sat down on the table opposite Rem. It was an interesting thought that the fellow had, for sure, but it seemed like it was something…altogether irrational. With Kular’s emphasis on physical strength, it didn’t make sense that the Namekian would try to challenge him to the match. Yet, Kularian wasn’t about to turn it down, either, as he had no qualms with trying to out-strength the man. Rem sat down as well, and the two locked their hands together, with each using their free arm to support the other’s elbow. The two with locked eyes and locked arms, focused on the task at hand.

With an unseen, unheard signal, perhaps it was the mental thing that Rem had been spouting off, the match commenced, and immediately, Kularian found himself surprised as his initial rush of power was kept at bay by Rem’s own strength, though the Namekian gave a definite grunt at the resistance. “Shit; this is why I don’t take a direct punch from you,” Rem grunted under his breath as the two continued to pour what strength they had into the match. Kularian smirked at the comment, knowing that as witty, clever and quick as Rem was, one solid hit from the man could usually shatter any guard that was put up.

“With as ki happy as you are, I didn’t figure you’d have the strength to match up to that start of the match,” Kularian said with a grunt, the two locked in place, now. It felt like Kularian was holding his own against a bar of that material Kami used for training. It was like an immovable force, restricting him from going forward at all. He knew though, that if he were to let up, even for an instant, that Rem would take the victory.

Rather than a strength test, this had become a test of stamina and willpower.

The fact of the matter was that rem was losing. It was pretty evident from the start, at least to Rem. Kular owned him in sheer strength, but Rem was not altogether that weak in the department. He was burning a lot of that strength up in this initial show down. To be honest, while he had talked about mind vs body stuff, he HAD rather hoped he had simply been stronger than his friend- that would have made the entire escapade all the much easier. But, it didn't seem to be happening, so it seemed he would have to use his mind to win the battle. Finally, after about ten seconds of near stalemate as their hands shook and thrummed with power, Rem decided it was time for the real show to begin.

He had to conserve the strength he had, use a peculiar tactic to try to win. essentially, he had to let the human think he was winning, and use that knowledge, that overestimation, to bring back the win. Rem's hand slipped a quarter inch to the right. Rem grimaced, which wasn't all that faked since it was a terrible burden to continue the match at all at this point. Anyway, a moment after his hand moved Kularian instantly redoubled his strength, sure he had the advantage and wanting to end it quickly. But Rem used his own tactic, pouring his own will and strength into his arm, forcing it not to move. But it did anyway.

It dropped another inch, but Rem wasn't all that saddened by the loss, as Kular would simply know he was closer to ultimate victory. Another half inch and rem's arm was about 1/4th the way to where Kular would need to get it to be the victor. Each time it moved, Kularian increased his power, which caused it to move more, which caused him to poor moor strength in, each second, each incremental movement of the Namekians arm a sign that he was going to win.

Kularian could feel the slow victory creeping up on him. It wasn’t like Rem was weak, not by any stretch of the imagination, but Kularian was specialized in physical strength; that was what he did. Rem and Sai were more about the ranged combat, with throwing Ki around like it was going out of style, but Kular was a straight up fighter, and pressed the gap between himself and whomever he was sparring against without any hesitation. Each day, most of his training was about stances, styles, strength, how to hit things harder. It was a constant effort to increase his strength and bring it to a new level.

But in that, Kularian couldn’t help but to think that his ally here, his friend and cohort was trying to delay the inevitable, and then possibly try some rush at the end, but one thing that Rem wasn’t aware of, was that Kularian was ready for such a quick turn around. His own arm was taut and ready, waiting for the Namekian to try something. And as the green arm approached the table, he felt a sudden flare in Rem’s power.

The Namekian let out a cry as a rush of strength picked up the arm, moving them back to the center… and at the center it stayed, and Kularian’s eyes flickered up to Rem’s. “Not…a bad show,” he managed out through clenched teeth, the veins in his arm and neck standing out as they were locked for another moment, before Rem’s arm started to droop again. “But you stepped into my ring!” Kular roared out as he began to force the other arm downward, and Rem let out a curse, but there was naught he could do as the man’s arm hit the table with a ‘thump.’
