The Super Namek

"So." Rem said as he came up to Kular in the early hours of the day. "We're leaving soon, heading back to the real world and all the bullshit that awaits us there." The Namekian seemed kind of morose, somber, a little too much CW. "Ayup." Kular said simply, not sure exactly what was going on with the Namekian. He had been fine for the past couple weeks, even rather chipper at times, all things considered. Rems hand went to his pocket and felt the small capsule there. He wasn't going to be able to do it, he realized. It was... a rash plan anyway. He had come to the afterlife full of piss and vinegar, thinking he could find a solitary soul among the billions, trillions, more? that resided here. He thought he could outsmart the system, and rescue his dead friend. Three weeks had come and gone and he had managed nothing. He had been to hell, had been to Yemma's, had been to heaven. He'd been all over the afterlife, always looking, always searching; and finding nothing, no sign. Jacob Straudmeir was dead, Rem realized... And he probably couldn't do a damn thing about it. He wondered how long that capsule would stay in his pocket. He would have to let go, eventually... But... not yet. He needed to hit something. The only person around who could possibly stand up to his hits, and return them just as hard, would be Kular. Rem looked back up at the Human and smiled, "Then I guess we better get one last spar in before we go back to it all, right? See how well we stack up after a few weeks under this gravity, are we faster than we were back on Earth? Let's find out..." 341//341 |

Kularian watched his friend and ally, wondering what had been going on in the Namekian's mind. It wasn't like Rem to be so somber for so long, and yet this last week, it seemed that is all he had been. There was very little talking and laughing as per usual, it was mostly him half contributing to a conversation that Kular and Sai were having, as if he were distracted. There was something off, but Kular couldn't quite put a finger on what it was. Not that he wanted to directly ask the fellow, all of them had enough going on in their own minds that they didn't need to share it with another. At the Namekian's words, Kular wasn't sure that the man was wanting to spar to really test out their skills. Sure, it was what he was saying, but he doubted that the man was actually thinking that, in his mind. Kular had known Rem awhile, and had fought alongside him for a damn long time, all things considered, so it wasn't like the man couldn't tell. However, he doubted that Rem wanted him to know that he was feeling something on the inside, and so he merely shrugged and smirked, nodding at his friend. “I suppose I can beat your head around awhile. But we've still got a few days; don't think that this is our last spar,” he spoke. Kular decided to start things off, darting forward and launching a quick series of attacks at the Namekian, who seemed to be taking more of them than he normally should have been. Kular mentally shook his head, attributing it to the gravity, that he was just moving slower than he should have been, though something in the back of his mind told him that it wasn't true. Kular ended the quick flurry by following up with a powerful spinning kick aimed at the Namekian. However, that, Rem avoided, and followed it up by a force filled punch, slamming into Kular's stomach, knocking the man back a few steps, coughing a bit. “All right then, I guess you're serious,” Kular spoke, smirking. “Let's do it for real then.” -- WC: 364 KWC: 364 |

Rem took a series of punches and kicks. He made a modest effort to block them, but to be honest, he sorta liked the pain. It made him feel better. It made him feel like he was suffering, like Jacob must have felt in those last few moments, as his skin had been rended by hands and knives- as his body had been burnt with flames, and his wrists rubbed raw and bloody by the coarse ropes. God damn it... Why Jacob... "HRA!" Rem exploded, throwing out a punch that drove Kular back a few feet. That apparently made Kular think he was finally serious about fighting. Good. He wouldn't hold back then. They exchanged blows, mostly blocks and parries, but then the human pulled a trick Rem hadn't seen before. Kular came around with a heavy left haymaker that was way too telegraphed to be a real attack. Rem caught it on the side of his forearm and flung it away. With a smile, Kular went with it, his body shooting back to the left, and his right foot coming up in a ridiculously over powered kick that came up and slammed into the Namekian's temple, jarring his teeth together and knocking him around. Rem decided two could play at that game, and used his own spinning momentum to bring his own leg around, slashing at the humans midsection. -248//589 |

Kularian could tell that whatever was weighing on the Namekian's mind, it was heavy, heavier than the gravity here, than their training gear, than anything. It had turned the man from a jovial sort to something that Kular... somewhat understood. Something had to have happened before they came here, something that had pressured the Namekian to push Kami to get them here. It wasn't something that he wanted to ask Rem about, but goddamn, what was it that had driven his viridian ally to this point? Kular didn't really know, but one thing he did know: if he didn't concentrate on this fight, he was going to get his ass knocked the fuck out. As Rem recoiled from his kick, the Namekian used the momentum to turn, throwing out a wild kick aimed at Kular's stomach. Giving a grunt, Kular managed to catch the foot, stopping its initial colliding with him. “You're getting better at this whole melee thing,” Kular said with a grunt, then a loud curse escaped his lips as Rem's leg suddenly extended, Mystic style as it pushed him backwards, using Kular's grip as a push off point, before firing a quick barrage of energy at the other. However, that seemed to just be a distracting tactic as Kular let go of Rem's foot to guard his body, and the Namekian came right back in. Kularian hissed as Rem's fist slammed into his guard, taking him back a half step before he countered, swinging his own fist around, which Rem ducked underneath, firing one of his own in response. The two continued for nearly a minute solid with throwing obvious, powerful blows back and forth, dodging and blocking when able, taking them when not, before Rem took a shot to the jaw, taking a stumbling step backwards. Kular was about to comment, to taunt, when the Namekian launched a powerful front kick, slamming into Kular's chest and sending him backwards, hitting the ground hard before rolling up to his feet. “Goddamn...” he grunted, wincing at the bruised ribs. -- WC: 343 KWC: 707 |

Kularian was up a few moments later. He was looking rather annoyed. It wasn't often that the two engaged in a melee type battle and the Namekian was even able to hold his own for very long, much less, arguably, come out ahead. The fact that the Namekain was doing so now said much for either the extra few days the Namekian had managed to get in, training upon this world, or the current motivation, the driving force in his mind. Either way, Rem was in the zone, and for the first time in a long time, Kular was taking the brunt of the damage in the fight. "COME ON!" Rem screamed, his eyes wide, perhaps even a bit manic, spittle shooting out of his mouth as he threw his arms wide, fists clenched, pectorals, abdomen, triceps, and biceps all flexed, and hard as granite. Kularian needed no further invitation and flashed across the half dozen feet, yelling out "WOLF FANG FIST!" His left and then right hand slammed into the Namekians chest, then a series of rapid punches to his still exposed abdomen. Rem took the blows, roaring in determination as his body was pummeled by a dozen or more strikes in just a few seconds. The Namekian's body was jerked and shook from the force of the attacks, but somehow, he managed to stand firm, never once moving to block the attacks or to change his stance. His arms stayed extended in front of him and wide spaced. His breath shot out of him in spurts after each connected blow, the force and power of the human warrior astounding, even to the Namekian, whose adrenaline and strength were maxed out at that particular moment. And then came the finisher. Kularians arms came together, shot backwards, and then started forward, palms outward in an attempt to strike the Namekian in his solar plexus. Rem apparently decided he didn't want to take that particular blow, however, and without warning his head shot forward. A thunderous 'KAAARRRACCCKK' reverberated for a moment, followed by complete silence. Rems left leg had shifted forward as his right had taken a steadying half step to the rear, his body shifting so that he was positioned in a stance more amenable to launching oneself at their opponent, and then his forehead head had slammed full force into the nasal root of his friend. opponent. 431//+1k |

Kularian took the blow to the nose, straight up, feeling his eyes beginning to water almost immediately afterward as he stumbled backwards, his head spinning. Since when had Rem gone that full out during their spars? Normally the Namekian was much more in favor of hanging back, pelting the fighter with energy attacks when Kular attempted to get in close to melee. But here, it seemed that Rem was moving forward with complete abandon, and fighting without any fear of getting harmed, and in fact, seemed to enjoy the thought of it. He took a few steps backwards, his head spinning as he tried to get his mind back into the fight, but the watering of his eyes was making it difficult to see. He took a few steps forward, taking a few wild, unaimed swings at the green fighter, but none went through, as the other seemed to step back and avoid them before countering with another fierce fist, slamming it into Kular's chest, knocking him backwards, the man stumbling again, trying to keep his feet underneath of him. He hit the tree on King Kai's planet, panting as he tried to regain his balance. He saw the fist coming soon afterward, and moved just in time to have Rem's fist punch a hole through the tree. But as Kularian moved to the side, the arm continued through the tree and coiled around, courtesy of mystic, and slammed into Kularian's back, knocking the man to the ground. The arm then grasped the back of Kular's clothes, and pulled him back through, slamming him into the back of the tree. The contact rattled him, and as the hand released him, he fell to the ground, panting. “Fuck that; you're on your game today,” Kularian grunted, vision swimming. “We'll do this again later.” -- Rem's win (( over 1k)) |
