Ender had been at the Avalonian academy for almost three weeks learning everything he could about their ships and tactics. Jane, a life form that lived between the philotic webs of life, was able to bring him to this dimension. Jane was seen as a god to the Avalonian people. So it was because of her he found himself here, where the Avalonian people intended to push him through the navy in order to wage war against their enemy, the Changeling and their Planet Trade Organization. To that end, Ender found himself learning from the Avalonian military everything he needed to wage war. He was commissioned as an ensign, the lowest Avalonian military rank, while he was in training. He knew, however, that they planned to make him the top ranking military commander, just like what happen in his own dimension. So much for his childhood, he often thought. They were also training him in hand to hand combat. Apparently there ware massive difference in fighting here in this universe than in his. People could learn to harness energy and use it, and often time it was far more effective than a firearm. So he trained in between his studies, it was really nothing to him compared to the battle school. Today, instead of training, He was told to go out into the central park in town. His instructor told him there were always people there willing to fight to improve their skills. His task today was to fight an opponent. What his teachers may not have realized is that losing was the worst thing that could happen to him, and he knew he was not very well prepared for a competitive battle right now. He found himself in a lushes green park. It was quite beautiful. He stood around where his instructor had told him, in the center of the park, waiting for a challenger. -Note: The events of my join form and all that follow occur AFTER this battle- “Don’t spend too long at the market, you hear me?” “Yes, dear…” “And don’t you go getting in any of those fights again, either! I worry about you, A.” Asroth gave his wife a knowing smile, and winked before stepping out the door. Of course he was going to fight. He was good at it. Her worrying was expected, of course. A young father like himself shouldn’t be getting into nearly as many fights as he had. But, in his defense, he was much better than other people he’d met. Anyone, really. He only fought publically nowadays just to brush up on technique – no matter how strong or weak someone was, they could still outclass you. Asroth recognized that, even in his youthful arrogance. A skip in his step, the Rat King pondered on which he should do first. If he went to the market, then over to Spar Manor(once again he wondered at such an awkwardly worded name), he ran the risk of some uppity charlatan stealing it under his nose. But if he fought first, he ran the risk of being too worn to make the trip properly. After a moment of deliberation, the blonde decided to fight first. Worst case scenario, he could just rest a bit before heading back and swear he’d gotten lost. Linda wasn’t too harsh on him, since he did his job, got money, and obviously was smitten. She’d let it slide. Not once had she beaten him in an argument when he pulled out the pouty lip. Smiling to himself a bit, he nodded. It was settled. Altering his footing slightly, he walked over to the park, surprised to find that only one person seemed to be there. A child, at that! Asroth considered just turning back right then and not even bothering to fight the little kid, but in the end decided this would be a good learning experience for people not to come over here until they were ready. “Hey, kid! What’re you doin’ here? Didn’t you know? There’s a height requirement to getting’ your derriere kicked by Yours Truly!” Pointing a thumb at his chest good-naturedly, he figured the child would rise to the challenge, be it from anger or recognizing his jibe as just simple ribbing, and they’d have their decent spar. But Asroth wasn’t about to just start off walloping on him. Nah, he’d let Junior go first. ~~~ Actions 1) Worry Wife 2) Fastwalk to Opponent 3) Inquiry/Challenge Prepared Items 1) n/a 2) n/a 3) n/a 4) n/a 5) n/a Notes 1) Battle Gear + Studded Battle Gear [+300 all stats] 2) [3/3] Counters – Higher Intelligence, Higher PL, <150% Stamina Stats Power Level: 6,716 Ki: 3,358 Strength: 877 Speed: 827 Toughness: 827 Stamina: 827 Vitality: 827 Intelligence: 23 Charisma: 11 Determination: 11 |

Ender almost smiled, but held it back. Here was another person thinking that because he was small, he would be incapable of defending himself. Ender hated to fight, his brother was monstrous in his effort to bully others around, and being four years younger than him, Ender usually got the worst of Peter’s experiments with torture. Every time Ender had to fight, he always fought to win. Of course he always won too; this is why the International Fleet chose him as their commander. But Ender knew that he won because he chose to be violent to the point of killing his opponents without mercy. But this was different, at least he hoped. Every fight he had been in was a fight for survival. He chose to destroy his attackers rather than be killed or seriously injured himself. He breathes in deeply. This is a different time and place he told himself. This would be a friendly battle, no one here trying to kill each other. “I’m the tallest one in my class,” Ender jested as he dropped into a fighting stance. Despite learning some basic martial arts while at battle school, the Avalonians had really taught him everything he knew about personal combat. All his actually fights he won by sheer force of will, his desire to survive and escalate the situation beyond that of his opponent. They too had underestimated him. He charged forward, hoping to take this guy by surprise. He punch out with his right and then left fist, as hard and fast as he could, hoping to catch the guy in the chin. Relying on his military training he followed up with a downward kick aiming for the knee, hoping to take out his ability to stand. Finally he stuck out with two palms to the ribs, aiming to make it difficult to breath and end this quickly in his favor. He had little doubt though that this would end quickly. OoC: oh ok. sorry. Got stamina confused with strength. But can you list your actions officially? I'll edit in my post after you do. ~~~ “I’m the tallest one in my class,” he boasted. At first, Asroth nodded, impressed by the child’s statement. He even gave a genial chuckle. Deciding that was enough of an acceptance of the fight, he reached from inside himself, reaching for that intangible source from whence his strength came from. Feeling the slight bump, he bashed against it with the mental strength and exactitude of a blunt hammer. Feeling the dam of energy come forth, the Rat King stretched briefly, letting his limbs be filled with the mysterious Ki he’d very recently learned about. However, Ender didn’t respectfully wait for him to finish powering up to begin the fight; just as he finished stretching, the child threw himself into the fray, sending to quick sucker punches at his jaw from either side. The first one brought him back to reality, but he still didn’t have the time to defend the second punch. Slightly angered by his own underestimation of this person, he quickly zoned into the fight; the adolescent twisted his body so his right side faced Asroth and lifted his knee. Realizing the kid was going for a kick, he spread his legs apart to a wide angle, feeling the kid’s leg pass between his own. Sparing a brief moment to look the youth in his eyes, Asroth was surprised to see nothing but determination. He clearly took this fight seriously. Well, if the child wanted a serious fight, Asroth could give it to him. As his opponent lifted both his arms, Asroth leapt into the air to bring one of his feet back to a more natural standing position, reaching his own arms out to meet the child’s wrists as they came to him. If he grabbed hold, he would use his foot still in the air to make contact with the kid’s chest and send him in a rolling kick that would send the child flying back. He followed through the motions, unsure if it worked or not, but hoping it would. Assuming he sent the child flying, then, Asroth rolled backward a bit, lifting his feet higher in the air so that he could snap back to his feet, and spun, trying to catch sight of his opponent. ~~~ Actions 1) Power Up [+25%] Free) Take Action 1 2) ST + Dodge Action 2 3) Counter Action 3 Prepared Items 1) n/a 2) n/a 3) n/a 4) n/a 5) n/a Notes 1) Battle Gear + Studded Battle Gear [+300 all stats] 2) [1/2] Counters – Stats Power Level: 6,716 Ki: 3,358 Strength: 877 Speed: 827 Toughness: 827 Stamina: 827 Vitality: 827 Intelligence: 23 Charisma: 11 Determination: 11 |

OOC: Sorry about that, i had written them down as i wrote out the actions so i would remember to do that, but then i forgot ![]() Ender was surprised that he got the first two shots off. His experiences lead him to believe that it was almost impossible to nail your opponent during the first few exchange of blows. It did not occur to him that this guy might not take him seriously. Maybe that had change and this guy was ready to fight him tooth and nail now, but maybe it hadn’t. Couldn’t he use his opponent’s lack of commitment based on Ender’s size to his advantage? He would certainly try. He noticed that this guy barely dodged his kick, which just meant he had to push himself just a little hard; concentrate just a little bit more and he should be able to match this guy blow for blow. Suddenly, Ender found himself being sent flying through the air. He had been kicked in the chest, but pain was nothing new to him and he could handle that, but he needed to regain control of his body and stop from being sent where he didn’t want to go. He knew how to fly in this galaxy and he knew how to handle that. To him, flying was almost like being in zero gravity in the battle room at the battle school. He had mastered movement there, which was a large portion of his success. He remembered his Jessh, his subordinates that fought under him in the Third Invasion, had made a motto out of his explanation. “The enemy’s gate is down,” they would say. In this case, he only needed to flip around to see his opponent. He landed softly on his feet thanks to his ability to fly. He breathed in deep, preparing himself to strike again. He was going to go in with much less aggression this time, in order to hopefully throw his opponent off guard. He slowly and carefully moved inward he threw out a weak feint, one he knew would be easily countered if the guy wanted to, but he doubt that he would fall for such tricks. He followed it through with a real punch, aimed again at his face. He leaned back in case a punch came at him; it was almost off pure instincts. Then he sent two more punches with his left hand towards the guy’s neck, for he didn’t want to get close enough to hit is face, he felt it left him to open. Finally, he threw a kick center mass in order to try to create some distance between them. It was a fast kick, but lacked any sort of real power. He was hoping more for a dodge and to maybe see where he dodge so he might be able to figure out how this guy moved. He felt the flip rather than saw it. Asroth knew, even before he turned on his heel to face his opponent that he’d landed on his feet. Quick wits, he thought appreciatively. That sort of move should have just plopped him on his back. I’ll have to watch this kid. It seemed the child was thinking the same, and came in a little bit more cautiously rather than actually trying to go for an aggressive, violent style of attack. Coming closer, he threw a punch at Asroth’s face, but it was going a shade too slow for him to react to it. Sure enough, his instinct proved right as it was a feint. Even still, though, Asroth decided to take it, rolling his head with the blow to lessen the damage. The kid leaned back, in the way he’d heard some African fighters from Earth did in violent, spur-of-the-moment scraps. He shook his head imperceptibly. Moves like that left people off-balance, and easy to topple by the right person, but Asroth didn’t go for it, instead altering his body so his shoulder faced the adolescent. When he leaned back in to throw two more punches, Asroth simply shrugged his shoulders high: despite this kid being taller than the average kid, he was still shorter than a man – just as he’d anticipated, the punches hit his shoulder rather than his face because of his ‘casual’ shrug. Punches to the shoulder were much easier to deal with, after all. Asroth still didn’t move to attack, so the child tried yet again, lifting his foot as quickly as he could – the thought Madness! crossed his mind for some inane reason – and aimed a shot directly at Asroth’s chest. Crossing his arms in an X, he deftly blocked it, leaving himself, for the most part, no worse for wear, even if he did have dirt all over his arms now. Damn kids. Shaking the thought off, Asroth looked down, twinkle in his eye, and cocked his head slightly to the side. My turn. Taking a quick step up into his foe’s face, Asroth reached out and tried to grab the child’s head in a vice-like grip, bringing his right leg up as he brought his hands down for the classic, yet brutal, knee to the nose. Sidestepping to try and have his pecs near the child’s right side, Asroth grabbed his right fist in his left and tried to force his elbow forward in a slashing motion, in an attempt to end the fight quickly. ~~~ Actions Free) Take Actions 1, 2 1) Block Action 3 2) Straight Knee 3) Elbow to Face Prepared Items 1) n/a 2) n/a 3) n/a 4) n/a 5) n/a Notes 1) Battle Gear + Studded Battle Gear [+300 all stats] 2) [1/2] Counters – Stats Power Level: 6,716 Ki: 3,358 Strength: 877 Speed: 827 Toughness: 827 Stamina: 827 Vitality: 827 Intelligence: 23 Charisma: 11 Determination: 11 |

Ender was amazed that this guy was able to take his blows so easily. He knew now he needed to turn the heat all the way up in order to take this opponent down. He had only one option left to him and he hated it. He had to strike fast and decisively. He had to become the most brutal person in order to win. It’s what Peter would do and he hated himself for it. He had little time to consider his options, the man had blocked his kick, so there wasn’t enough distance between the two of them for Ender to get out of the way of the head grab. He felt the knee jam into his face. It missed his nose, which a blow like that would probably have knocked him out, but his face still had the piercing sensation of pain. He was a soldier though, he could tolerate the pain. His vision was cloudy for a few seconds and he didn’t see the guy move. However, he could sense his energy moving to the side of him. Ender knew another attack was sure to come and so he rolled forward and turned so that once he was on his feet, which was almost instantly, he would be facing his opponent. The pain was numbing his face, but he pushed it out of mind. He needed all his focus for this fight. The Avalonians had taught him to harness his power, and he reached deep within himself to pull it to the forefront. He could fill energy rushing through his body and it was invigorating. He rushed at his foe, this time committed to attack fast and hard. He vanished just before he would be within kicking range of his enemy. He reappeared in front of him, aiming a kick at his hip, hoping to throw it out of place with the surprise of speed. WC: 319 TWC: 1,091 Action Free) Take action 2 1. Dodge action 3 – Roll forward 2. What the…? Asroth stared, dumbfounded, as the child harnessed his inner Ki and channeled it accordingly. How could one so young be able to do that? It was supposed to be a long process of enlightenment. The Rat King even remembered the first time he managed to tap into his potential energy – he’d been almost a man by that age. And this mere child stood before him, flaunting it! An unknown emotion broiled inside him. Anger? No, envy. A sneer marked his face for a moment, before being swallowed by a vice-like mask. Asroth forced the negative emotions to simmer down, but it was difficult. Finally, he shook it off, just in time to see the child disappear. He smirked, before spinning around behind him – it was the oldest trick in the book, after all, to appear BEHIND your opponent. But while he was turning, he saw a flash of something to his side and reacted instinctively, throwing his arms out and catching something hard in his left palm. “Ouch,” he mumbled. Shaking his hand a bit, he let his good-natured attitude filter back. He needed that slap (kick) to the face (hand) to get him back on track. Turning to face the kid, he nodded appreciatively. He’d actually fought better than Asroth had assumed, and that deserved some praise. Still underestimating him. “Hey kid,” he asked, “What's your name, anyway? Mine's Asroth,” he added, tossing in yet another winning smile. After waiting an appropriate time for an answer, the Rat King moved into his personal space, throwing two quick jabs at the sides of the adolescent’s face – mostly because he didn’t want to try and strike down. Taking another step closer, after trying to hit his jawline, Asroth tried to make this fight to a level where it had to stay up close and personal, without all this backstepping and rethinking coordination. ~~~ Actions 1) Block Action 3 2) 2 Quick Attacks 3) Initiate Grapple Prepared Items 1) n/a 2) n/a 3) n/a 4) n/a 5) n/a Notes 1) Battle Gear + Studded Battle Gear [+300 all stats] 2) [1/2] Counters – Stats -> RP Bonus Power Level: 6,716 Ki: 3,358 Strength: 877 -> 1,009 Speed: 827 -> 951 Toughness: 827 -> 951 Stamina: 827 -> 951 Vitality: 827 -> 951 Intelligence: 23 Charisma: 11 Determination: 11 |

Ender heard him ask for his name, and was surprised at it for a moment. He was so used to being known that it caught him off guard for a moment. “My name is Ender,” he said at last. He felt that there was no reason to tell him about his military position within the Avalonian military. Since he was wearing no uniform to identify him, maybe it was best he leave that information along for now. There was little time to think, however. Two quick attacks slammed into Ender’s face. He noticed that this guy had reached within himself as well, for this attack hurt more than his last attacks. He could take though; he just needed to block more. While trying to create space between them, Asroth (as he called himself), leapt on him and locked him into a grappling stance with him. He knew this could be dangerous and decided to attack first. Again, he knew that attacking fast and hard was his best chance at getting out of this. He sent two palms to Asroth’s ribs. He followed this by an elbow aimed at his face and another elbow to his collar bone. In the back of his head, Asroth was counting the moments. He didn’t want to go too hard on the little kid, even though he was good – and on top of that, he had other errands he needed to attend to. Not enough time really for a full blown bout. He thought to himself how it might be time to wrap it up quickly, just as the air was left from his lungs. The two open palm smacks left him winded, and leaned forward slightly. With no other defense, he lifted his arms up quickly, much in the form of a boxer trying to avoid shots to the head; thankfully, that had been just when the shots to his neck and head occurred, and instinctive reflex let him block. Having his breath back, Asroth saw that Ender was winding up for a power punch and took a half-step back, leaning, that way when Ender threw the punch, Asroth was set up perfectly to reach out. After hopefully grabbing onto his arm, Asroth twisted both his arms in a counterclockwise motion, to try and corkscrew Ender’s arm by extension. Letting go quickly, before any real damage could be done (if any was done at all), the Rat King expected a brief moment of respite, but no! Ender was like a machine, and just went to throw yet another punch; Asroth slid to the side, easily watching it fly past, and allowed himself a small chuckl— “Whoa!” Dirt and dust flew up into the air as all the wind flew from Asroth’s body. Shaking his head, he tried to jumpstart his brain to realize what had happened: the kid had set him up! Using the punch as a decoy, he’d gone in for a low leg sweep that had knocked him off his feet. There was still another moment of stunned silence, before Asroth started nodding. Slowly at first, but it quickly picked up velocity as he got to his feet, almost looking like a bobblehead when he got to his full height. “Not bad, man, not bad. You’ve got chops,” he congratulated him. “First time someone gave me a good bout in… quite a long time, I’ll tell ya that much.” Still genuinely smiling, he started to walk away. “I’d keep goin’ at ya, really, but my wife needed me to pick up a lot of things. Ender first two blows were successful. He figured it would not do enough damage to end this fight, but it still disappointed him. It also disappointed him that this guy was able to dodge his next attack and counter the one after. The countered attacked hurt him, but not enough to stop the flow of his attacks. Ender was grateful when he felt the leg sweep had worked and sent his opponent flying. He was getting ready to rush forward with another attack, but the man spoke of leaving. It caught Ender by complete surprise. Never in his whole life had he been in a fight where he didn’t have to kill his enemy in order to survive. This was new to him, so new in fact that he almost rushed anyway and attacked. Yet, he knew that this guy was not his enemy, at least not now and not because of their battle at any rate. Ender was in no danger by letting him live, and so he did. After all he hated violence and truthfully would not have killed anyone that he had fought had he been in better control of himself. It was in this moment that he knew that he would take the commission officer rank that the Avalonians where trying to give him. There was a war coming and they needed to win, he had agreed to that. Up to this point he didn’t know if he was ready to command people again. He decided he needed to learn how to fight in order to save lives. If he had enough power and control, he could save the lives of even the people stupid enough to attack him. WC: 283 TWC: 1,594 |
