To say the last few weeks had been exciting would be a strange statement; While Rubic had no concept of excitement or fear, he had been incredibly busy due to the interesting assignments he had been given. So much combat data had been processed that Rubic predicted a higher efficiency rating from his own capabilities. However, testing his efficiency in a sterile environment was far different than a real combat scenario, and since Rubic and Goken appeared to be training with Master Roshi all the same, it was a logical choice to request a spar with probably one of two individuals that Rubic could come close to calling 'friend', as strange of a word it was to Rubic. Rather than conduct the spar on Roshi's Island (where the probability for collateral damage was highest), Rubic instead selected a woodland scene. Indeed, the spar was agreed to take place inside the forest nearest to Roshi's Island, providing a much more interesting combat scenario for the pair of androids. The fight would likely be similar to his one with Android Number Nineteen, but even then, Rubic felt he could use far more training in that particular environment. Regardless, once Rubic arrived at the agreed-upon location, he began activating his training and combat sub-routines, powering his systems to full efficiency as he waited for the rotund android to arrive. ==== ACTION 1: Fly to Location ACTION 2: Power Up ACTION 3: Wait WC: 226 Rubic Total WC: 226 Spar Total WC: 226 |

Once more, Goken was about to face Rubic. The RBC unit had for a while being the toughest of Goken's regular training partners. There was no doubt by now this was all due to flawless programming and designing. The white-haired android was not sure how strong had Rubic gotten by now, but he knew that probably was a lot stronger than the first time they sparred. This time, however, Goken and Rubic had agreed to try themselves in a different scenario. A forest, or something. That meant almost nothing to the care-free fighter; more trees, more obstacles... nothing that would really change the most likely outcome. Goken stayed training until late night before. He did not overslept this time, though. In fact, the half-machine warrior was anxious to try himself against Rubic once again. He had by now faced Vlad, an android far stronger than himself, and Shiruva, whose full Power Level remained a mystery. Even so, Rubic was the best way to measure his own growth. At the moment Goken arrived at the location of the spar, he saluted Rubic with a relaxed imitation of a military salute. “Looking good, Rubic. As always. I must say, you look more impressive every time I see you. Have you been polishing your armor, or something?” Goken expected not a follow up on the comment. Rubic was far beyond trivial chit-chat. That was the very only thing in which probably the RBC would never surpass Goken: the capacity of making witty comments at every step of the way. Some of them were not so good, though. Maybe with enough interaction with humans Rubic could indeed become a more accomplished comedian too... but that would truly be weird. “Well, I guess we better get on with this, don't you think?” That said, Goken took of his weighted jacket and put up his plastic armor, usually kept on a capsule. It was not as hard as the military android's plating, but it was better than nothing. “Well, here I go!” Goken did not waste any time flying straight at Rubic, looking to connect a fist in the androids face. By now, the cybernetic combatant was sure that even using a bit more than the usual training Power Level, he would not cause serious damage to his friend. "Greetings," Rubic said to his fellow android. "This unit has activated Practice Simulation protocols. The purpose of this exercise is to provide a training simulation for both units involved to better enhance their combat capabilities and knowledge. The environment was selected in order test applications of combat subroutines in woodland environments. Minimizing ki attacks will now be set as a priority," Rubic explained. "Training mode has been activated. Safeties in place to prevent death from occurring during this exercise. Attention: To disable training mode, command word 'JUGGLE' should be spoken in a clear, loud voice. This unit will attack until Training mode self-deactivates or the command word is spoken," Rubic informed the fellow android, apparently all according to Rubic's internal protocols. Indeed, most of what Goken said basically 'went over his head', as the organic term went. Rubic was just as socially inept as ever. As usual, Rubic tilted his head to the side until an audible 'CLICK' could be heard, his systems thrumming with power, before he assumed a combat stance. It was clear that his stance was a bit more refined due to his training with Master Roshi, but it still held that predisposition towards offense. "Begin Simulation," Rubic said before Goken rushed into the combat. As always, Rubic began scanning his opponent and data collection, the never-ending system of gathering data and analyzing it for changes in tactics and strategems. In this particular case, melee combat would be difficult with all the obstacles in place, but Ki attacks would cause unprecedented collateral damage. As such, speed was ultimately the key in this fight. Goken had improved his speed far more than Rubic had anticipated, so much as that Goken's initial attack almost landed into Rubic's head, but the military android raised an armored forearm up to block the attack, a sizeable dent forming in that section of Rubic's arm. Rubic immediately moved on to the follow up, throwing a kick up towards Goken's mid-section to propel him higher into the air, if it hit. In the next instant, Rubic's form flickered and disappeared, reappearing behind and above his opponent to slam down an armored fist upon Goken. ====== ACTION 1: Block G3 ACTION 2: SA (Up-Sweeping Kick) ACTION 3: Speed Teleport + SA (Heavy slam) WC: 360 Rubic Total WC: 586 = 226 + 360 Spar Total WC: 971 = 611 + 360 |

Rubic reacted with impressive quickness. His arm easily blocked the hit; Rubic had no reflexes in human terms, but his processing speed was uncanny. The half-android could even see the shadow of an evolving style in his pal, something that amused him. He wondered how “human” could the RBC unit could truly become, because little by little, adaptation of the machine was making him more accurate in several areas. Perhaps he could be programmed to mimic some other stuff... but that wasn't important now. A kick came. The military android was in many senses superior to any other android Goken had met, two exceptions noted, but still, he was not outpowering him by that much now. He was stronger, and faster, but not enough to be in a complete different league yet. Goken moved as fast as he could and managed to dodge the attack by a few miliseconds. There was no room for mistakes here. “You're swift, Rubic, but you're gonna have to step it up if... WHAT THE?!” Goken was in the middle of his comment, when the military android vanished and a powerful punch smashed right into the ground. So far, Rubic had never been so speedy; Goken was sure that Rubic had not yet perfected the speed teleport, but the evidence said otherwise. On his knees, Goken decided to try something else. Something surprising too. “That was something... last time you didn't have that. But... SMILE!” said the white-haired android wile directing his hand towards Rubic's optic sensors, his robotic eyes, and flashed him with a light that could very well be as bright as the sun itself, if not more, in order to blind him for a moment. Right after, Goken followed with a low sweep kick, trying to make the sturdy Rubic fall to the ground, all covered by grass and fallen leaves. If Rubic had managed to grow this fast, it was better not to get overconfident on what he had observed last time. ACTIONS 1-Dodge action 2 2-Solar Flare (8% Ki Used) 3-Special Attack (Sweep kick) *WORDS: 333 *Goken: 718 = 385 + 333 *Total: 1304 = 971 + 333 |

Once again, Goken was displaying far greater speed than their last encounter, a few variables that would needed to be changed in Goken's personnel file in Rubic's memory banks. Even now, Rubic's processors were attempting to re-analyze Goken's attack patterns and capabilities in order to take better advantage of the fellow android's weaknesses, hopefully in order to form a far more efficient attack pattern. However, when Goken raised his hands to his face, Rubic was not sure what exactly Goken was attempting to accomplish. Was this a new technique taught by Roshi? Rubic immediately got his answer a split second later, the blinding flash hitting Rubic's visual sensors with unprecedented intensity. Rubic stumbled back just before the kick knocked him off his feet. WARNING. ERROR DETECTED IN VISUAL SYSTEM. WARNING. ERROR DETECTED IN VISUAL SYSTEM. WARNING. Rubic was quick to get back onto his feet, rolling away from Goken's last position in order to put some space between himself and Goken. REBOOTING VISUAL SYSTEMS. STAND BY. REBOOTING VISUAL SYSTEMS. STAND BY. It took a moment to try and reboot his systems, the android taking a more defensive posture until that occurred. However, once his systems rebooted, Rubic was able to go back on the offensive. At this distance, he would have used a ki attack, but he could not risk the trees catching fire. As such, he charged back into the fray, seeking to slam his shoulder into Goken. ===== Hit by G2 ACTION 1: Blinded Hit by G3 ACTION 2: Blinded ACTION 3: SA (Charging Slam) WC: 239 Rubic Total WC: 825 = 586 + 239 Spar Total WC: 1543 = 1304 + 239 |

The Flashing-thingy on its arm was a success. Goken was not sure how much juice he could get from this, but was determined to get the most possible. It was not pride... well, not only pride, for he also needed to find out how well he could handle against an stronger opponent. This time it was not enough to see how much he could take. He needed to know if we would be able to stand toe-to-toe against Shiruva. And that was not precisely a picnic. “Maybe I can catch her off-guard with this too...” Rubic took his time getting on his feet and –seemingly– regaining his sight, but launched a quick offensive afterwards, charging towards Goken without any hesitation. “I'm not sure he's even able to doubt.” Determined not to lose the edge, he went full-speed to dodge the move by Rubic, disappearing from the military android's line of sight for less than a blink, and reappearing right at his side, immediately throwing a left lariat-like hook, which would make the heavier android fall if connected. [STUN ACTION] After that, Goken was ready to kick the fallen android, strongly enough to push him a few feet away. “Now, he seems to be restraining from using his Ki techs. Well, I have something else here...” the half-machine fighter thought. He quickly removed his right hand from his arm, revealing the cannon of a simple, metal projectile weapon. A gun, in short. “Now, let's make sure this doesn't hit anything important.” That decided, Goken shot his bullet at Rubic's shoulder, which it could cause the less damage. Not that it was gonna do a lot anyway. This kind of weapon was, according to Kozan's research log, quite ineffective against strong opponents. Goken has already witnessed Rubic take a lot of gunfire before, when they fought that nefarious army back in Portobo. Goken reattached his hand. Things had gone well so far, but Rubic was not the kind of fellow who could be taken lightly. Goken needed to keep pushing, but Rubic surely would also do that, for the white-haired android knew that taking offensive action was the main strategy of the military android. Goken's quick use of his potential speed definitely took Rubic by surprise, the left hook slamming into Rubic's side and pushing the android down to the ground. The android rolled with the impact, quickly coming up to his feet thanks to his control over his limited control over his own personal inertia. Goken pressed the attack, throwing a kick towards Rubic, but Rubic stepped inside the kick and attempted to slam his elbow into Goken's mid-section to throw the opponent off balance. Then, Goken revealed the firearm in his own appendage. Judging by the attack pattern, it was possible it was similar to another technique Rubic had seen before, and he knew it was rather difficult to dodge due to its speed. Rather than try to dodge it, however, Rubic activated a small, electromagnetic shield on his right arm and deflected the attack away before Rubic gathered energy into his hands and let loose his own attack: The Dodonpa! The attack was not powered up nor was it used to its full potential, due to safety limitations in Rubic's programming, but it would be enough to at least knock Goken off his feet if he failed to avoid it. ===== Hit by Left Hook ACTION 1: Counter G2 with Elbow to Midsection ACTION 2: Deflect Mesposo ACTION 3: Dodonpa WC: 199 Rubic Total WC: 1024 = 825 + 199 Spar Total WC: 2104 = 1905 + 199 |

Once again, Goken had completely forgotten how fast Rubic was able to retaliate. Before he could kick the military android, the RBC unit had countered with his superior speed. “Damn, those counters are gonna kill me someday...” After that, the white-haired android was surprised to see his sparring partner deflecting a bullet with such ease. The metallic projectile flew straight into a tree, making Goken wonder how hard Rubic's plating truly was. “Well, that was something,” Goken murmured, not knowing the real surprise was just coming, in the form of a Dodonpa. The technique was something new, but by now Rubic should now Goken was not the flinching kind. Instead, the man wearing sunglasses tried to replicate the feat of repelling the blast. “It must not be that hard... He just swung his arm with enough force...” Results were actually really poorer than Goken had expected. The blast hit his arm, and sent him flying back a couple of yards, as if it had fully connected, but also leaving the man's arm a bit numb. “I almost had it...” he thought as he lied there, on the ground. “You really pack a punch... I give you that,” the white haired android said, in fact mocking his own failed attempt to deflect the blast. Working a bit to get back up, Goken stretched his arm to regain movement. He was ready for more now, and the idea of deflecting blasts was not out of his system yet. So far, Rubic had shown his capabilities in the efficient, usual manner. Goken would need to further improve to avoid being shot down so easily in the future. “As always, you've been quite instructive, Rubic.” As this was only a training match, Goken already had observed a great deal of factors to be considered lately. “Okay, I concede. What was the word? Pillow? Juggy? JUGGLE! Yeah, that was it. Or Jingle...” Goken waited for the imposing RBC to calm down. “You're a tough one, my friend... I'm just glad you have not completely left me behind. That would suck. Now, I'm really impressed by that deflecting move... I really need to learn how to do that...” ACTIONS: 1-Defend againt Dodonpa (Miserably Failed) 2-Concede Post: 366 Goken: 366 + 1080 = 1446 Spar: 366 + 2104 = 2470 *OFF: I had a typo... Of course, Rubic was prepared to resume his offensive maneuvers towards Goken, running towards Goken until the fellow android uttered the command word, making Rubic cease all forms of movement entirely for a moment until the android settled down, arms at his sides. "Training Simulation complete. This unit hopes you gained valuable insight and data from this training session," Rubic said. "Unit Goken has improved by 102% since last training session," Rubic stated in that dull voice of his. As always, he wasn't much for conversation. "Deflection move learned from Master Roshi. Perhaps inquiries will allow unit Goken to learn the maneuver as well," Rubic said, nodding to Goken. "Let us return to Roshi's Island. He would be eager to hear of our spar," Rubic said, waving for Goken to follow him back to the island. ====== SPAR COMPLETE WC: 136 Rubic Total WC: 1160 = 1024 + 136 Spar Total WC: 2606 = 2470 + 136 |
