When are we eating?
|
The planet Juno. Ayakon shut his eyes and concentrated on the planet. The dry smell of the desert, the harsh winds blowing in seemingly random directions, the pressing heat of the bright red sun dubbed the Inferno by the Keliouxian inhabitants. With one forceful push of his ki, he disappeared, taking his entire ship and its inhabitants with them. As the Behemoth ship appeared in the air of Juno, the sudden appearance of the massive craft caused a loud crack in the air, the displacement creating an effect extremely similar to a sonic boom. Thankfully, the reflective panels that stealthed the ship did their job and made it seem as though the burst of noise had come from nowhere, as though thunder were rumbling in a clear sky. Aboard the ship, Ayakon's eyes opened up and he took a deep breath, "Did we do it? Are we here?" "Indeed, sir." His pilot and only admitted friend Suiji responded with a nod, checking out the specifics of the planet, specifically the weather of their current location. "It doesn't look like we're in the middle of a sandstorm now, but according to local reports, these things pick up quicker than you can imagine. Fighting in that sort of environment is not advised." "Well, fighting of any kind is never really advised." Ayakon said, heading towards the hanger bay of his ship. Through his Scouter he could keep in touch with Suiji and anyone else on the ship. "I'm going to investigate this strange feeling." He pressed a button on his armor (a modification he'd made modeled after his daughter's futuristic armor) and dropped all of the weights connected to it. Just before the Instant Transmission that brought him to this planet, he'd changed into his fighting armor, modeled very closely after the Saiyan armor with only minor modifications for his comfort (including the larger tail hole, Saiyan tails were tiny). With him he carried a few items for his own protection, things he'd picked up just before the big jump, as he wasn't exactly certain what he'd find here. The wind burst into the hangar as the ramp lowered down, creating an opening in the massive ship. Ayakon made his way down to the planet's surface, following his ki sense towards the disruption that was getting to him so much that it forced him to jump planets. Within the depths of his soul and within his mind, the Changeling heard what he recognized as his darker half, speaking to him, You can feel that can't you? It's dark ki. You should be on your guard. Whatever we're going to be here for isn't a joke. Nothing should set you off like this. I know. Was all Ayakon mentally responded. Before long, his searching found someone he didn't expect on this planet or any other. It was Karas. The opponent he'd battled in the astral realm, whose fighting had gotten him thrilled for the first time in a while without outright pummeling him. Now though, he could feel the dark ki radiating off of his opponent. Ayakon had never considered himself a pursuer of justice, but this humanoid's ki was causing a constant tingling in the back of his skull. You're doing this, aren't you? Ayakon asked his other half. You need a real challenge. The Dark Ayakon responded. "Karas!" Ayakon announced without further conversation with his other half, "I'm here to finish what we started in the astral realm. Prepare yourself as quickly as you can, we're going to begin right now." He brought one fist to guard his torso and placed the other just in front of him, properly taking his time to set in his crush stance and waiting for his opponent to drop into a stance as well before he rushed at him, giving Karas no choice but to face him. As he did, the tingling in his mind stopped, or at the very least simmered, confirming his suspicions. Ayakon started the fight off by leaping high into the air and coming down with a wild haymaker with his right fist, bringing it downwards like a pummeling blow that, if it connected, would hit Karas in the shoulder and possibly dislocate it. This attack was a pure set up, the Changeling using the force of the blow to gain momentum, spinning about diagonally just before he hit the ground and aiming a hard downward tail swipe down on Karas' skull as he finished the spin. Whether his attacks connected or not, the Changeling resumed his fighting stance, bobbing ever so lightly on the balls of his three-toed feet and making it apparent that he was in the fray now and that this match was just getting started. Come on then, show me what you've got. WC: 783 Actions. Free. Crush Stance 1. Drop Weights 2. Equip Saiyan Armor w/o Shoulders of Combat 3. SA (Haymaker) 4. Lost Scouter. SA (Tail Swipe) Tactician. ”How do they keep finding me?!” Karas had only arrived on Juno not even a couple of hours prior and already there was someone calling out to him and announcing his intent on trying to beat the crap out of him. Letting the flames expel from the purple ring on his finger he opened one of the purple boxes on his belt and allowed a mist like substance to exit through the opening he had made in the top. The hybrid was completely engulfed in the purple mist and kept any possible changes hidden from his opponent. When the mist cleared he stood, leaning with his weight on his new sword (a temporary replacement until his next trip to Avalon and he could pick his sword back up from the Paladin’s guild) and donned in spiked silver armor covering him from head to toe. ”At least I get a chance to test out my upgraded Armamento da Guerra.” The hybrid’s mind flashed and gave him a glimpse of his opponent as well as their first attack. It was the Changeling he had just recently encountered in the Astral Realm. Ayakon? At least, that’s what he thought the fighter’s name was. His mind showed Ayakon rushing in, not even giving Karas the chance to turn around, and launching himself into the air in an attempt to deliver a haymaker with enough crashing force to dislocate his shoulder. Rather, it would if it weren’t for Karas’ stepping out of the way when it actually did happen and even if it didn’t his armor took so much of the blunt of the attack he doubted it would have really done anything serious. The vision faded which meant that Karas would need to act. As true as his vision had proven his opponent was above him and falling fast, all it took was a quick half-spin so that his whole body was facing to the left rather than how he had been. The movement caused him to move his shoulder out of the way and force Ayakon’s attack to miss. But like always there was a catch to his visions, and like always it was in the form of a follow-up attack which in this case was a tail being flung at him in an attempt to smack him in the side of his head. Thankfully his shiny new helmet was there to take the full-force of attack. ”Is that it?” He half-taunted Ayakon from the lack of damage he had just took. Though half of him was disappointed, perhaps having such a strong suit of armor wasn’t playing to his personality. He did, to some extent, enjoy the feeling of knuckle (or tail) making contact with his body before he retaliated. All around the two warriors reality seemed to shatter like glass, opening up the space around them to a pure white nothingness save for several dozen black lines surrounding them like endless spider webs. It was these lines that showed Karas where to slice his sword, where to slice through the space in front of him with enough speed to chain together several strikes aimed for all of his opponent’s exposed vital spots. The final slash of his blade caused the “empty reality” to be repaired and show the two the battlefield on Juno that they had started on, and never left. His next attack flowed flawlessly from his previous one in the form of a power kick to his opponent’s gut. If it connected he hoped it would give him several feet of space between the two which was perfect considering his next attack was launched right away in the form of a large blue ki orb being flung at the Changeling. Next the hybrid "slipped" out of reality only to appear behind Ayakon and once again deliver another power kick. Feeling he was all set on the offense for the moment Karas slid his right leg out behind him, getting into a sort of semi-crouch, and pointed his sword the same way and holding it with only his right hand. His left arm sat loosely across his waist with the fingertips of his open palm resting lightly against his weapon’s hilt. ----------------------- WC: 727 Actions Free: Telepathy vs action 3 1: Kuzu Ryu Sen 2: SA (Power/Spartan Kick) 3: Big Bang Attack (-12%) 4: ST + SA (Power/Spartan Kick) CE: Blademaster Stance

Ayakon recognized the armor, that of the Avalonian Paladins, something that Ayakon was all but certain that Karas couldn't be a part of, unless the Paladins had suddenly stopped caring about the virtue of their recruits. It mattered little to the Changeling and he continued with his planned assault. As he'd predicted, Karas deftly dodged first crushing blow, only to fall victim to the second one. The tail smash to Karas' newly appeared helmet dampened the damage, but Ayakon was certain it couldn't have completely absorbed the blow. As he landed back on the ground he smirked at Karas' taunt and replied, "Oh I can assure you, we're just beginning." Before him, reality seemed to shatter. This took the Changeling off guard for a moment before the warrior realized that it was an illusion. If there was one thing Ayakon could almost always tell, it was what was and wasn't real. Having the voice of your completely separated dark half talking to you on a regular basis had that small advantage. Karas brought his blade forward in preparation for the attack. He was fast, but the Changeling was used to having to keep up with people much faster. Ayakon moved and twisted as his opponent kept rapidly stabbing at what should have been vital areas. Most of the attacks missed, and those that connected still missed their crippling targets. Drops of purple blood dripped from the wounds, however shallow they were, though the Changeling was so in the moment that he paid no attention to them at the moment. Ayakon had put so much concentration into watching for the next sword strike that when Karas' leg shot out, it connected directly with the Changeling warrior's stomach. As 'reality' set back in, the Changeling slid back until his feet were embedded in the desert sand, forced to double over ever so slightly. The metal-clad warrior's kick had been mostly absorbed by Ayakon's Saiyan-inspired armor, but the sting of the blow resonated even as Aya prepared himself for the next attack. Still partially doubled-over, he felt the heat of the next ki attack coming at him and could see the shadow of the sphere flying towards him. Ayakon spread his hands in front of him just as the attack entered his striking range, causing it to dissipate and instead become a burning shield that surrounded the Changeling. Even as the burning aura of energy covered Ayakon in a protective waving shell, his opponent disappeared from sight. Had this happened before the Changeling could sense energy, his opponent would have a severe advantage now. However, the moment Karas 'stepped back' into reality, the Changeling sensed his presence and when Karas shot his leg out, Ayakon attempted to wrap his tail around it and aimed to throw the warrior to the ground. Determined to take his opponent off of the offensive, Ayakon continued onwards, ignoring his opponent's stance and pressing forward with a pair of tiger claw strikes in rapid succession, both aimed at Karas' armored chest. Whether the attacks connected or not, he brought his hands together into a single fist and brought it upwards, in an attempt to knock his opponent backwards again by slamming into Karas' chin with his hammerfist strike. Karas was attempting to put distance between them and Ayakon was determined not to let that happen. The Changeling was genuinely curious as to what his opponent's next move would be, watching Karas' hand and ensuring that he was ever wary of his opponent's blade. Though the Changeling had extensive training with opponents that insisted on wielding weapons, the greatest lesson he'd learned was exactly how dangerous the weapons could be if he wasn't careful. Karas found himself being thrown into the ground by Ayakon’s tail when he attempted to kick him the second time. The hybrid had used his momentum to flip backwards and get back to his feet before sliding into his intended stance, sword pointed behind him and held at waist level. Ayakon continued on his offensive and charged at Karas, attempting to swipe at him with a set of claw slashes. Karas found the opening and took it, knocking Ayakon’s arms away with his free arm while slashing at the Changeling’s waist with his sword in an attempt to slice him in half. Ayakon followed up by clasping both his hands together and bringing them up to strike Karas under the chin. The blow rocked his head back and shook his jaw, as would be expected seeing as Ayakon struck an unprotected part of his body. This caused him to flip backwards once again and put about a yard of distance between the two of them. Karas closed in on Ayakon as quickly as he could, using his free hand to deliver a strong punch, charged to the brim with ki, aimed at the Changeling’s face. Even if he didn’t make full contact his fist would still discharge the ki in the form of a blast from his knuckles. Ki covered his sword as he cut it upwards while pulling his arm back. The hybrid’s eyes shone brightly before a pair of beams were shot from them, aimed for Ayakon in hopes that he would he could at least hit his opponent. -------------------- WC: 261 --------------------- Actions 1: Counter Action 4 w/ Blademaster Stance 2: Blast Punch (-2%) 3: Ki Slash (-4%) 4: Eye Beam (-2%)

Ayakon's body reacted instinctively to Karas' reactionary slice, though the Changeling himself took no notice to what happened as he delivered his upwards smash, knocking the humanoid for a loop. It was only when the two took a brief moment between the fighting that Ayakon noticed what had happened. The Changeling had shifted his lower body just enough that the sideways slice took off a good chunk of Ayakon's tail rather than slice through the Changeling warrior's gut. As Karas took his fighting stance, Ayakon glanced down at his still writhing tail flopping like a decapitated snake on the desert sand. Thankfully the Changeling had, under the training of Overlord Seta, practiced repeatedly fighting without his tail. He no longer relied on it as a weapon or for balance. Now, losing it only caused one thing. "You cut off my tail…" Ayakon muttered. As Karas ran at him and threw forward a punch charged with ki, Ayakon matched it with the same, his ki-flaming fist perfected long ago and now used as an instinctual response. He took a step towards his opponent, exhaling hard. When Karas brought his blade upwards, Ayakon counted on his gauntleted hands to catch the blade, taking only minimal damage from catching the wild swing. He shoved it away and said one more time, "You cut off my tail." He'd never actually lost his tail, more than a bit of it anyway, in the physical realm. What he had lost he knew could be recovered with a short stint in the rejuvenation tank, but that wasn't the point. The point was, Ayakon liked his tail. The Changeling let out another exhale, his fury overwhelming him with no war cry or shout of rage. Instead he bulked up into his first transformation, gaining at least a foot in height and expanding in muscle mass immensely. Though his size had changed, his speed didn't decrease with it. As he transformed, Karas' burst of energy smashed right into his armor, searing two deep holes into it that would have caused the Changeling to stumble before his transformation, but now only made him look down at his wounds. He looked back at the humanoid and said a final time, "You… cut… off… my… TAIL!" Ayakon held out his open palm and let it charge with ki for just a second before firing a massive light blue beam of energy that threatened to engulf the next several dozen meters behind Karas, as well as the warrior himself. Using his ability to sense to track the warrior, Ayakon followed him and fired it again within a matter of moments. He was lucky to have found Karas in such a secluded place. The extreme heat from the blasts had turned the sands surrounding the Changeling to glass. He could only imagine what it would do to Karas if he'd been caught in the middle of it. At the moment, however, he couldn't care less. Though his exterior was mostly calm, the rage from losing his tail threatened to consume him, causing the Changeling to go all out on this particular bout. WC: 513 Actions. 1. Karas didn’t think much of Ayakon’s mutterings after having sliced off a portion of the Changeling’s fifth limb. It was only when he stated the same line for a second time with more force that Karas started to get worried. Ayakon started to grow, pushing past Karas height wise and bulking up with several additional layers of muscle. The first thought Karas has when he had seen his opponent’s new form for the first time was, ”Oh fuck.” The hybrid having said it out loud as he gawked at the Changeling in his taller, more muscled form. He had gained maybe an extra foot to a foot and a half of height and now stood taller than Karas, beaming down at the now smaller hybrid.
With his opponent’s new form backing his words up Karas was starting to understand the gravity of the situation, however just slightly. Ayakon proceeded to point an open palm at him and charge a small amount of ki into the center. That was enough time for Karas to press the flat of his sword in front of him as a wall between him and the inevitable attack. Just before the beam was launched Karas’ blade began to glow with a brilliant light that was swallowed by the attack. The light broke through and Ayakon’s attack diminished to nothing, showing Karas standing proud and strong with a still glowing sword that transferred the ki of Ayakon’s attack into his very veins. Karas tracked Ayakon’s movement through his ki signature, just like Roshi had taught him on Earth. The Changeling was behind him and ready to launch another beam identical to the previous one. Karas intercepted this one this time by releasing his Storm Shield from the red box on his belt that normally housed it, letting it deflect the beam off in another direction. Turning around to face Ayakon all of Karas’ worries that had manifested from watching his opponent’s transformation into such a behemoth had vanished only to be replaced by his traditional smug grin. ”Now this is starting to turn into a real fight.” He swung his sword at his side a bit aimlessly, simply as a way to express his eagerness at the current situation. ”But it looks like we’re taking this up a notch. Taka! Kujaku! Condor!” He ended by hollering the names of three different avian species which produced the effect of three circular red images of each animal ringed in gold to manifest in front of him. The emblems stacked onto each other and transmuted into a completely new one with more of a phoenix design that smacked into his body and produced a blinding gold light. The light turned into flames that scorched the sands around him and turned them to glass just as Ayakon’s last attack did. The flames died and Karas was visible once again, now his armor had been modified to fit with the theme of his now demonic right arm. The silver and spikes had been replaced by red armor-like feathers and the gaps between them with black leather-like scales. His helmet had become phoenix-like with a crimson visor dropping over his face. ”Well then,” He teleported again, this time closing the gap between Ayakon and himself by getting right up in the Changeling’s face. ”Round 2 starts now I suppose.” He brought his sword towards Aya’s waist once more, this time intending to pierce straight through rather than slash his opponent in half with black flames flaring from his elbow and increasing his thrusting speed. Pulling his sword arm back out he attempted to put some distance between the two of them and jumped back a few yards. ------------------------------ WC: 626 ------------------------------ Actions 1: Aura Blade vs Ion Beam 1 (+10%) 2: Deflect vs Ion Beam 2 3: Transform into Awakening (-.2%) 4: ST + SP (sword thrust) + Flames of Hell (speed) (-4.2%)

The Changeling watched in anticipation as his opponent shifted forms, looking a bit let down as Karas acquired an avian-esque armor rather than his paladin one. Is this what Non-Saiyans or Changelings do to transform? Change clothing? Are we battling or putting on one of Master Roshi's fashion shows? Ayakon let out an audible exhale, No matter. The Changeling pounded his fists together and waited for his opponent to prepare himself properly. "There are no rounds, bird boy." The Changeling's voice was much deeper in this form, adding a gravely tone to anything he said and making it sound that much more menacing. In the moment that it took Karas to pull his arm back a blur of speed, Ayakon shifted to the side to dodge the other warrior's striking blow. "Now put the damn knife away, you're starting to embarrass yourself." To reinforce his comment, Ayakon rushed in, delivering a cross-chop to the warrior's neck and attempting to dig a knee into his foe's gut at the same time. Using the two attacks at the same time and being on Karas' flank gave him a small but distinct advantage over the now much shorter warrior. Contrary to his overwhelming size's implication, Ayakon was faster than he had been before, losing no speed along with his increase in muscle mass. With such close-ranged attacks, Ayakon attempted to show Karas how useless his sword was in at this particular range. Before he could give the now shorter warrior the chance to regain his bearings, Ayakon switched tactics. The Changeling jumped backwards a fair distance. There's got to be something else that I can do. Ayakon's mind raced. He considered his options and recalled the modifications that had been made to his armor by his daughter, in order to more closely mirror her futuristic armor. Ayakon had noticed that, during his two large bursts of energy, Karas had used one of the little boxes attached to his waist. As long as his opponent could use items during their battle, Ayakon figured so could he. After only a fraction of a second, the Changeling said, "I feel that you're still holding back. Let's see how close to the edge I can push you." It was with a devilish grin that Ayakon activated two of the aforementioned modifications on his armor. One of them was on his left hand. A quick, precise flick of his thumb against his forefinger activated a stim pack he had installed that would give him a temporary burst of energy to move a little bit quicker for a short time. The other was a precise flick of his right wrist that delivered a small purple sphere into his palm. He tossed it at Karas, tracking the humanoid's location once again, and said, "Catch." The small purple sphere exploded in a bright flash just in front of his opponent's face and Ayakon was quick to rush through the blast and deliver a powerful punch towards Karas' helmed skull. The Changeling was certain that even the warrior's avian-themed helmet wasn't enough to guard him from the harmful explosion that would slow him down for almost as long as Ayakon's stim would enhance the Brumal Lord's own speed. Karas continued to track Ayakon’s movements through the ability that Roshi had taught him, finding himself ducking under a karate chop that had been trying to sweep at the back of his neck only to be caught by a knee to his stomach. Inside his helmet he was coughing up bile, finding his armor to provide less impact resistance to his foe’s new form. The impact caused his to be lifted from his feet and thrown several yards away from the changeling, collapsing flat on his back in the sands. ”Now I remember by I don’t use this form anymore.” The hybrid groaned as he got back to his feet, making sure he had his balance before glaring at his Changeling foe from behind his ruby colored visor. ”Bird boy? That’s really the best taunt you’ve got?” He smirked despite his physical condition, straightening out to face Ayakon with that bravado he was famous for. His sword hand tightened around the hilt of his weapon.
His opponent threw what looked like a small purple sphere at him which proceeded to explode in his face. He realized this as a tactic he had used in his previous battle to slow down his opponent for a period of time. He could feel it taking effect on his body already. The flash bomb like attack had given Ayakon the chance to deliver another punch, this one landing square in the center of his armored face and throwing him back yet again and causing him to tumble over himself. However the hybrid was able to land with his feet planted to the ground this time. ”I’ll show you what this “damn knife” can do, just you wait.” Lifting his left arm up over his chest he twisted his wrist to show the black pocket-watch like object he had produced and now held in his palm. ”Henshin!” The brought the object down and locked it into the buckle of his belt, causing the object to show a crow’s eye running vertically down the center of the inner circle. The crimson armor on his body burst off as new armor took its place. This one held more of a mixed theme between a raven and a samurai, colored black and edged in gold. Flames exploded around the blade of his sword as he launched himself towards his opponent, ki and black flames flared up to speed him along while the tip of his weapon scrapped along the sands and left a thin trail of glass in his wake. He flew past Ayakon, delivering a swift slash in an attempt to slash through the Changeling’s waist once more on his pass-by, before planting his foot into the ground and using his momentum to spin and face his foe’s back. ---------------------- WC: 500 ---------------------- Actions 1: Partially dodge action 2 2: Transform into Spiritken (-.3%) 3: Inferno Sabre + Ultra Slash + Flames of Hell (speed) (-14.3%)

When are we eating?

"I'm waiting." Ayakon watched as Karas rushed towards him. Even wIth this increased toughness against his opponent's powerful slash, he relied heavily on his armor to keep the slice from cutting through Ayakon, as it was too fast for the Changeling to normally block or dodge without altering his normal speed. Thankfully, Karas' blade worked against him. The speed of the blow combined with the flame emanating from his weapon served as an immediate cauterization to the wound, Though the blow had cut into Ayakon's muscle, it hadn't spilled his guts like his opponent had intended. When Karas stopped behind him, Ayakon rolled forwards, spinning as he landed and facing his opponent, "Another change in garb, eh? I suppose it's time for me to match." The Changeling closed his eyes for only a moment and shrank down to his prior size, his appearance becoming a much more sleek, refined version of his original state. His colors had inverted, causing him to change from primarily light grey with red covering his protective plates, to the dark red being his primary color. Anyone who'd seen or faced his darker half would see that this form perfectly mirrored that version of him, and more precisely, now more accurately matched the rest of his clan. Ayakon took a fraction of a second to admire his transformation. He'd spent the past few months perfecting the power that he could release in his transformations, and now could bring himself out almost to the brink in every form. "It feels good to finally take my unleashed form. I'd give you the chance to admire it, but I don't think you'll last that long." In Ayakon's hand he gathered a small sphere of energy, flexing his hand slightly to cause the ball of ki to catch on fire. As the ignited energy charged, Ayakon moved with such speed that he left a light-blue afterimage of himself in his wake. He stopped just in front of his opponent and attempted to shove the burning energy sphere into his opponent's chest, as it turned into a beam that shot forward. As this happened, Ayakon shouted, "Burning Masenko HA!" As the sand rose and attempted to settle as a result of his overpowered attack, the Changeling himself was preparing his next attack. Still tracking Karas with his ability to sense ki, rushed to his foe's location and unleashed a powerful punch directed at Karas' face, overloading his fist with ki just before the attack would hit. This was an ability Ayakon had used to cancel out Karas' attack before, and now he was hoping to force Karas to feel the blow full force. Ayakon resumed the onslaught against his opponent, bringing his hand to his face and making a hand-sign as though he were blowing up a balloon, instead firing a massive fireball at Karas, This was one of the many tricks he'd learned in the Fire Temple, something only a few other warriors he'd run into could duplicate. Dropping his hand, he continued to the burst of flame, turning it from a precise blast into more of a wild gout. Unable to continue his onslaught without giving the seemingly younger warrior a chance to surrender, Ayakon said, "We can stop it right here, Karas, if you'd like to give it up. If you'd like to continue, however, I can get serious and show you how deep in the ground I can pummel you until we reach solid rock." WC: 574 Actions. (-2.4% for trans) Free. Take A3 1. He reached forward and forcibly yanked Karas' gauntlet off, taking the ring that marked the warrior as an Avalonian Paladin. "You're no Paladin. I don't know who you killed in order to obtain this, my friend, but this is not something that you should have. You should count yourself lucky, Karas. Another warrior may have murdered you for this deed. Myself..." He slid the ring onto his own finger, "I'll simply take the reward." He gave the humanoid a salute and disappeared from sight. But then it turned out that he couldn't do that. So Aya took his damn Quantom Weights. 1.Steal 2. Still be a bitch about it. OOC: Changed this once I found out about the grandfather thing. Informed everyone. |
