[flashes Combat Rune] Jared could see the bottom of the lake from his position in the water. His face clearly showed marvel at the underwater life. Along side him was Freed who also seemed to be enthusiastic about what they were seeing. Jared pointed to a cove to the left of them. The two swam their way over to it. As they entered, they could see the tunnel had them traveling upward and so they followed it until the could see the surface of the water. Jared went first and emerged from the water. He seemed highly energetic. "I swear I was a fish in my past life. I LOVE the water." Past life? Jared turned to Freed, "Let me guess, you don't know what a 'past life' is?" Freed stroked his chin, Past life refers to how you lived in the past. Jared stared at Freed agitated for a good moment. He sighed and turned away. "Never mind!" Jared, where is this place? "To be honest I don't really know. But since I've spent so much time exploring your mind, I thought it would be cool to explore mine for a while. Yours is one big jigsaw puzzle." Freed nodded. Jared had an active imagination. For this reason alone, his mind was like another world in itself. Exploring the cove brought an element of excitement to him. Jared couldn't help but wish this was all real as he continued walking. It felt real enough though. He could even smell the lime inside the cove. The end of the tunnel was in sight. Jared followed the tunnel all the way to the end and exited out into a large open space cavern. The ceiling; filled with stalactites had to be a good forty feet above their heads. If something was going to happen, it would happen here. Words: 304 |

Underwater Cove; this was unexpected. But Cell was an adaptable creature and so took the environment with a grain of salt. It seemed the Gem of Telepathy knew no bounds. Like the equivalent of a child’s imagination, one could go anywhere through this crystalline object’s power. The creature could see where this might come in handy. Becoming able to fight in any sort of climate or environment imaginable was an amazing tool. Whoever brought them here must have been confident about having an advantage. Well in the words of any normal man; “We’ll just see about that.” The devilish creature’s lips curled into a grin as he continued walking through the cold wet tunnel. In his own time he’d find the end of it. The tunnel emptied out into this deep cavern with high ceilings and cold rocky floor. It was only after this that the creature need not look further. His eyes caught sight of a form on the other side of the cave; a most familiar form. His bright yellow hair was like a beacon in the dark. This boy had crossed his path once before. His amazing power back then took the creature by surprise. But not this time. In the art of stealth, the creature crept around the stalagmites present in the area, attempting to keep his power signature low to nonexistent. The creature’s hunger began to stir in the bottom of his gut. Remembering the boy’s power and the sheer nature of his own design, Cell wanted to assimilate this boy’s being into his own. It. Would. Happen. Unable to hold himself back, the creature lashed out from behind the nearest stalagmite. Lunging into the air first. His extendable tail moved in sharply for the boy’s form attempting to make the piercing mark on his chest. But Cell was not stupid and figured the boy might be able to nimbly maneuver away from the tail. So he prepared to follow up by following after him with a quick straight punch and an upward kick with the left leg and a spinning tail swipe at his body. “We meet again, young one! This time you will see your efforts fall short on you.” Word Count: 369 |

Jared's mind seemed lost to his surroundings. This cove was literally wondrous of a sight to behold. The cavern walls seemed to glitter like gems. It was a shame it was not real. It mattered not however, because his mind was soon drawn away his surroundings when Freed notice something lunge out from behind a rock. JARED! he shouted in an instant. Jared's instincts led him to turn to the right where he noticed something flying at him. He jumped to the side as the object hit the end of its reach. A tail with a piercing end was in his view. Jared's eyes widened at the sight of it. But it was no more a surprise than the punch that came flying as a scaling green creature entered his view. Though he managed to put up a block with his forearm, Jared winced when the creature's leg smacked against his side. He then found himself caught in the face by the creature's swinging tail. It knocked him sideways against the ground where Jared was able to get a good look at his assailant. “We meet again, young one! This time you will see your efforts fall short on you.” Jared's surprise took him. "You're that thing from before!" Jared are you ok? Jared jumped to his feet, shot a look to Freed and then back to the creature. "You should be asking him that question Freed. I sorely hate it when someone attacks me on my blind end. I'll send those dangerous sentiments right back at you, creature!" Jared then looked at the creature's tail, remembering how the creature had attempted to stab him with it before. Surely it would try again. I need to stay clear of it as much as I can... Jared thought Jared's right hand produced a ball of energy with little concentration behind it. He thrust the ball forward directing it to hit the ground between him and his foe, creating a smokescreen between them. Then Jared accelerated his body quickly, attempted to crash into the creature's torso with a flying kick. He accelerated again and went for an elbow drop at the creature's head before doing a single back flip for distance. He cupped his hands. "HAAAA!" He shouted He thrust his hands forward, wrists together, and fired a blue energy beam from the hands at the creature, waiting for the explosion and the final result. Freed seemed surprised. 'His technique is different today. He used an energy counter assault. Could Jared be attempting to keep his distance?' Words: 425 / 729 |

He remembered. What an honor! Cell was ready to escalate this skirmish. The boy’s energy seemed much higher than last time but so was his. Jared jumped to his feet, shot a look to Freed and then back to the creature. "You should be asking him that question Freed. I sorely hate it when someone attacks me on my blind end. I'll send those dangerous sentiments right back at you, creature!" The creature seemed confused. Who was Freed? Was someone else here? He couldn’t detect anyone at the time. But as the boy took his stance, Cell quickly lost concern for it. He seemed hesitant to move. Placing himself into position, Cell prepared to go on an offensive of his own. But then the boy brought his palm up and produced a ball of energy with little concentration behind it. He thrust the ball forward directing it to hit the ground between him and his foe, creating a smokescreen between them. Cell was shocked when the boy’s foot sunk into his torso, nearly drawing the wind out of his body. Scowling like the devil, the creature sharply moved to the right of the boy and jumped up avoiding an elbow drop. The boy did a back flip as Cell was landing on the ground. “Hah?” Went the creature. He noticed the boy’s posture, crouched and his hands cupped. But they didn’t stay that way. With a thrust and a shout, the boy released an energy beam in the creature’s direction. The creature crossed his arms in front of his chest, bracing himself as he let out a distorted shriek as the blast came barreling in his direction. There was the sound of vicious impact. But this was from the sound waves colliding with the beam itself. The creature could feel his feet sliding backwards against the ground. Suddenly the creature looked up noticing several of the stalactites starting move. That’s right. They were in an underground cavern. Blasts like this could bring the entire place down. That wasn’t exactly what the creature was up for just yet. “A bit reckless I see.” The creature rushed the boy quickly, attempting to power crash directly into him; or at least it seemed that way. Cell abruptly changed up his tactic only a foot away from the boy, spinning himself forward as he jumped upward and over the boy’s head. Landing upon the ground he sharply spun about attempting to bring his tail into contact with the boy’s body from the side again. Words: 420/789 |

Jared had thought at first that it was over when he heard the creature scream in what seemed like agony. But the dust cleared and he discovered quite the opposite. The creature was still in good physical shape. Freed seemed concerned overall and was quick to express it. Jared, you must remember where we are. I think the cave ceiling is not very strong. Jared growled. Freed was correct. It seemed the creature was aware of this also. “A bit reckless I see.” Jared didn't get a chance to reply before the creature came rushing his way. He went to his guard. But the creature jumped over his head. Jared sharply turned about and felt the hard smack of the creature's tail against his side again. This time however, Jared was quick enough to grab it in response. "Not this time, creature!" Jared, be careful of the stalactites. "I'm aware! HYAAAAAAAH!!!!" Jared spun on the heel of his left foot twice pushing his energy up. In a vicious toss, Jared attempted to give the creature the toss right into the cave wall. Then he shot off again racing after the creature, producing another ball of ki in his right palm. With a jump and a spin, Jared attempted to personally bring the ball of energy right into the creature's face. His anger had him lash out with a vicious left cross and a right uppercut at the chin. He threw a downshifting right punch at the torso, then a left uppercut at the jaw. He thrust his palms forward attempting to finish it off with a powerful shove. Then he let his energy settle. He looked up. It seemed he managed to go on an offensive without shaking the foundations of the cavern they were in. Jared had to keep that in mind. But if this creature was as foul as he seemed, he might not have a problem bringing the place down on his own just to get rid of Jared. Words: 332 / 1,061 |

The creature received the unpleasant surprise of having his tail grabbed by the boy on that last attack. He tried to pull the appendage free from the boy's grip. But suddenly his energy started to rise. Cell found his feet easily leaving the ground. His world begin to spiral as he flailed a bit helplessly. Before he realized it, he was sailing over the ground toward the cavern wall. It took all his effort to stop before the collision. A lot of good it did however, when the boy's aggressive prowess saw him colliding with Cell's face using a ball of ki. Forced to smack against the wall, he was defenseless against the boy's vicious physical assault that followed. He was out for domination. The creature could only curse himself for the severe lack of power in his design at the moment. Secretly he swore to amend this. The creature was sent flying off by the boy's forceful shove. Such power in the frame of a small boy. He surely could not allow himself to forget such a thing in the future. The creature engraved this boy's being in the deepest part of his memory just before hitting the wall with a forceful crash. There Cell lay motionless, but very much still conscious. Perhaps it was sheer tenacity that allowed it. Or perhaps the boy had managed to pull back some power in that last hit. Either way, for Cell to try and retaliate here and now was a mistake he'd pay dearly for should he try it. Too strong. At all costs, I must make this boy's power mine! The creature sat up slowly, soon catching sight of the boy's position across the cove. Again Cell found himself ready to concede to this young person. He managed to sit up and rest his arm across his left knee. The creature's grin appeared as his form started to fade. "You luck out again, young warrior. But be assured that you will meet defeat at my hands." The final declaration. Cell then vanished from the cove, leaving the boy to ponder on the creature's closing words. Words: 357 / 1,146 |
