The gem itself was always something of an enigma to Rubic. Even if his systems were nothing but pure technological mechanisms, he was still able to interface effectively with the gem, giving him the ability to search and fight other beings across the aether. Strangely enough, with all the assignments he had been given lately, Rubic found himself with a free moment. Even if all of Rubic's combat data had been effectively analyzed and cataloged, it was always a curious notion to activate the gem and find others out in the astral realm that would connect them.

Rubic focused on the crystal a little as he picked it up, the light reflecting off of the gem quite beautifully--that is, if Rubic ever had such an appreciation for things like that, which he didn't. As such, one moment, Rubic was on King Kai's Planet--the next, he was somewhere else entirely.

Rubic found himself in a rocky outcropping, a jutting slate of granite protruding from ground at a slight angle, likely the after effects of geological activity within the area. Surrounding the large rock was a forest, spreading out as far as the eye could see. Speaking of eyes, however, there were thousands of eyes around, all from Wolf-like creatures. Perhaps they were wolves, but there was something about...their gaze. As if they possessed far more intelligence than regular wolves did. Like they were sentient, judging, watching.

Rubic scanned around for his possible opponent, wondering just what kind of situation he found himself in. Even so, he made it a point to increase his power draw, increasing the relative power level he had access to and making sure his limbs and systems were operating at peak effectiveness. There was no telling what strange realm Rubic stumbled into using the gem...

[Combat Rune]

Kularian's thumb, pointer and middle finger rested on the ground, easily holding the bulk of the man upright as he performed the single-arm push ups, keeping his entire body inverted as he did so. His eyes were focused upon the ground, the tile that lay there . He likened it to a chess board, save all the tiles being the same color, really. There was the occasional red or yellow hued one on the ground, but for the most part, all of them were same, drab off-white color that seemed to perpetuate the stereotype of such types of tiled floors. There was little more to the ground below him than the light grey tiles, and the occasional spots where his own sweat had dripped down from his body and splashed on the ground. His eyes narrowed as he finally felt a bit of strain on his arm and then decided that was enough for now as he pushed off the ground, launching himself into the air before he flipped once, landing neatly upon the ground, on one of the red tiles no less.

As he moved across the gym, he felt a few pairs of eyes on him. He was well known by these people as one who kept to himself, but could floor every single one of them if he tried, simply by existing, really. Kularian had never bothered to bring his scouter to training, but he knew that the people that frequented this gym were beyond what he could comprehend as far as a fledgling fighter. Most of them were too busy simply gaining body mass and trying to look appealing. Kular, on the other hand, was a walking monster, an unending fountain of force that could decimate entire cities with enough of his released power, and doing it all without firing a single blast of ki.

Moments later, he emerged from the shower, and as he picked up his pack, he felt a resonance from inside and frowned, before he picked up the sphere that lay inside, the one that allowed him to fight in far off dimensions. He smirked as he closed his eyes, allowing the gem to override his normal senses as the world around him slipped away, and suddenly he found himself at the edge of a forest, a rocky crag in the distance. He couldn't really sense anyone around, but gave a slight grunt as he flexed his power somewhat, letting it spike. “Come on out!” he roared, grinning widely as he sought out an opponent.

The Wolves in the forest seemed to turn their gaze to the side, every single one of them turning to look towards the newcomer to the strange pasture of pine woods. As eerie of a sight as it was, Rubic was not given to intimidation or fear. He simply lacked the ability to feel much of any emotion, due to his construction. While his official classification had him as an 'android', it was only loosely used to describe the military robot. With a great leap, Rubic landed on the grassy side of the clearing with a whine of mechanical parts and a surge of power as Rubic's body compensated for the movement. As the android rose to his full height, he heard the voice of a familiar entity. Quickly cross referencing the sound and tone of the voice, Rubic was able to identify the voice as belonging to a Kularian--one of Master Roshi's former students. Regardless, once the individual issued his challenge, Rubic spoke to respond.

"This unit will be your opponent," Rubic said, his systems powering up and feeding energy to the various components of his body as his sub-routines prepared for combat. With that, Rubic began to step towards Kularian's particular thermal signature, the robot ignoring the strange wolf spirits gazing between the two fighters. Each step eliciting an echoing sound across the trees of the forest. Once they were close enough to engage, Rubic assumed a combat stance, slamming a foot into the ground as he squared his shoulders.

"Combat Functions activated."

Kularian glanced to the side as he heard something heavy, and mechanical land a short distance away, and the man couldn't help but give a slight smirk. “Oh hey, Rubic, right?” he asked, watching the other. It was fairly obvious that the creature rarely referred to itself as such, and instead went by the full name, but Kular had heard others use that acronym to describe it, and thusly, he would as well. He hoped that, at least, the android knew that particular sequence of letters was a designation for it. If not, then it would be quite confused at Kularian's attempt to identify it.

“Kinda weird that you android things are able to use these gems, but who am I to say?” he spoke, giving a slight shrug before he moved forward, his form lithe and full as he approached. He didn't bother with using ki, at least not yet, as his attacks flickered forward, still testing the capabilities of the machine before him. Rubic managed to avoid a few of the blows, and just from the way that the thing moved, Kularian could tell that its processes or whatever were beginning to move more quickly, and it had more tact and skill behind its movements.

Still, Kularian wasn't going to just go forth and give it full credit as, even if it had grown more powerful, so too had he, and he wanted to show it that there was still a fair level of growth waiting for it. “Not bad, but how about this?” he spoke, before he planted a foot, twisting his entire body as he thrust out with a right straight, the entire area around him exploding away from him in a wave of force as his fist likely broke the sound barrier multiple times in its thrust forward, just curious to see if the android could handle the Lismian's true power.

Even now, Rubic was analyzing his opponent's movement, picking up on every movement, every muscle tightening, every aspect of the feral warrior's physical form. Much like the last time they faced off against one another, Rubic was constantly gathering as much information about Kularian as possible, the android's sensors on overtime to collect what data it could from his opponent.

But ultimately, the best data came from actually being in combat. With that notion in mind, Rubic met Kularian head to head in the field of battle, the android utilizing what data he had on forest combat to his advantage, using trees for cover as he maneuvered, his data on Kularian allowing Rubic to at least dodge some of the wolf-man's blows while Rubic lashed out with his own. As Rubic suspected, the results were similar to punching military grade steel, the man barely reacting to any attack Rubic lashed out with. As Rubic seemed to improve, so too did Kularian, that much was certain. His reaction times were slightly faster than last they met, his skin slightly tougher, his muscles slightly bigger. Anything and everything about Kularian's movements and techniques were catalogued into Rubic's personal memory core as he fought, the android attempting to find some weakness in the organic's stance, fighting style, and general demeanor.

Unfortunately, after a few moments, Rubic's scouter readings jumped up significantly as Kularian readied an attack. Rubic attempted to rush forward, hoping to intercept the feral warrior before he could loose whatever attack he was preparing, but the android was a split second too late, catching the brunt of Kularian's powerful blow square on. The sheer force of the attack sent the android flying through several trees--all of which fell to the ground in a cacophony of sounds--before Rubic landed some two hundred meters away from Kularian. Even if the damage done in the aether realm was never permanent, the simulated effects seemed real enough to the android in this realm.

With that, Rubic slowly picked himself up, splinters of trees sliding off his metallic armor, damage readouts flying across his vision as he was given an accurate display of what damage he had taken, simulated or otherwise. Kularian was obviously an incredibly impressive opponent, far more powerful than Rubic currently was. He would need to increase his efficiency and effectiveness in combat in order to even come close to defeating the wolf man.

Still, there was one other thing Rubic could attempt. His arms slid apart down the middle, forearms folding around his upper arms and revealing twin cannons--one cannon in each arm--as the android targeted the wolf man.

ACTIVATING HELL FLASH

With a whine of machinery as capacitors charged, the android finalized his firing solution and opened fire. The capacitors dumped their built up energy in one go, firing two massive beams of energy towards the wolf man in an attempt to show what Rubic was really capable of.

Kularian growled as he watched Rubic fly away from him, crashing through the sea of trees that lay beyond their normal reach. He grunted, taking a few steps forward as he followed the path of destruction. “Rubic! You better not die on my, you overgrown tin can!” he roared out as he moved through the underbrush, picking his way over the fallen trees in the path. He caught sight of the wolves surrounding them, and he couldn't help but to think that perhaps this battleground had chosen him, rather than the other way around.

However, as he made his way to the android, he saw the robotic fighter with his arms up in the air, pointed directly at him. “Oh, sh-” Kularian began, before the wave of force rocketed out from the android's arms, crashing into him. The warrior gave a roar as the initial force pushed him back several steps as he let his hands stop the blow, forcing it from moving forward, and pushing him back any more. “Goddamn, man. That's dangerous,” Kularian panted, before the force, he realized, began to rupture, being so close to his own, volatile ki.

There was a sudden explosion that ripped through the trees then, with Kularian right at the epicenter, a wave of force rolling outwards, causing many of the still standing trees to fall to the ground, while those that had already fallen shattered outwards, leaving the epicenter empty, save Kularian's form. His body was burnt and charred in places, and the warrior gave a grunt. “You're dangerous, man,” he spoke, before releasing his control of the gem, giving Rubic the unofficial win. “But I'll fight you whenever you'd like,” his voice echoed.
