The Super Namek
|
The Memorial Ceremony had ended hours ago. The sermon had been brief, but powerful. Something about survivors having to continue on once their loved one had passed, or something. Rem had been rather numb for the whole thing. He had stood there, motionless, until the crowd had milled away, the workers had come and torn down the podium, and even the sun had left-setting behind a deep bank of full, dark and heavy clouds. Mother nature had waited until he was alone to open those clouds, and bring down the rain; pouring melancholy across the blackened and brown ruins of what had once been a minor city. The rain seemed to mute the scene, transfixing it in his mind as more of a faded painting than the realism it was. Rem had nowhere to be. Nothing to do-for the first time in ages. It was amazing the journey he had been on since he'd last stepped foot in this city. The times he had nearly died, the people he had met and lost, and the power that he had gained and had shown to him where beyond instudious recollection. "They thought I just came to pay my respects." Rem said aloud. The first words he had uttered that day, since waking, shining his armor, and throwing his white cloak about him. "They were happy to see me." He gave a low, mournful chuckle. "Rem, of the Justice League. Hero of West City... HAH." His burst of sarcastic mirth echoed a moment behind a peel of thunder in the distance. "If they knew why I was here... That I was here to see the damage I had caused because I was stupid... haughty... braver than I was pragmatic..." The Namekian shook his head and turned. The green skinned, ivory armored warrior lifted his hands high, to either side of his head as if to indicate the broken cityscape about him. "This is my greatest Sin... My biggest mistake." His hands fell to his sides limply. "What of you, Yume..." Rem somehow recalled the young warriors name, even though it had been long since the other had near killed him just a few miles south of here. "Do you have many regrets?" The Namekian had been terrified of the white haired boy when they had last battled, disbelieving of the power a solitary individual could hold. He'd been terrified of the callous, manic nature of the boys attack, and his flagrant disregard for the lives of others. At the time... Rem had thought Yume was the 'great darkness' that had awoken him in the night... But Yume had simply been a foretaste of what had been in store for Rem. Face blank, emotionless, The Namekian unclipped the scabbarded sword from his waist and held it up before him. "Shall we?" “Regrets?” The white-haired warrior, who was slouched against a battered wall looked up towards the sky. It was as though the heavens were shedding their tears for the Namekian and his self-perceived failure in defending what were now merely ruins of the city of Barradine City. Somewhere inside, a small part of him idly wondered whether or not his apartment was in any usable condition after the chaos. He had only actually come because Kami had told him that the young Namekian before him needed to hear something and that it was up to Yume to decide how to affect his fate. “Why should I? I’m still alive aren’t I? If I’m not dead then I can do the things that I still need to do. Whatever you’re choosing to beat yourself up over inside there is useless to dwell upon. Just don’t let it happen again.” As meaningful as his words were, Yume knew he wasn’t a particularly passionate speaker. He left that to the guys who were more comfortable in the limelight. All he did was fight. It was all he really knew how to do. He never really considered a greater purpose to ‘why’ he fought though. Which was something that Rem seemed to need to find again and be given. The only answer he really had for that question himself was one that only appeared when he was actually fighting. He could feel the surface emotions of Rem running through his mind like a torrential downpour much like the growing storm surrounding the two, drenching them to their bones. Yume’s soaked bangs hung in front of the visor that shielded his eyes as he felt Rem’s mind seem to settle on….something. Although one couldn’t tell behind the strange headpiece Yume had adorned for the upper half of his face, an eyebrow was raised as the Namekian warrior in front of him unclipped his blade from his belt with a well-practiced flick, bringing it to a ready position.
The human fighter gave a weak grin, pushing himself off the wall he had been resting against. He gave his entire body a shake, ki running through his body to counter the chill his soaked suit had been sending through his bones. He idly wondered if the Namekian in front of him saw what he saw when he looked at him. The last time he had encountered Rem, he saw someone who seemed so inexperienced, yet exuberant and full of hope as though it was only yesterday. Yet now, the ivory-clad warrior before him seemed infinitely wiser and proud, but marred and hollowed by his failures. It was the look of someone who had lost his innocence and reason in the universe. He now saw why Kami wanted him to talk to Rem. Even if talking seemed to be the last thing on the Namekian’s mind. To save yourself, you need to save someone just like you. The youth’s earlier grin became strained as he finished gauging Rem’s power. As guarded as his emotions were now, his energy levels were an open book to the youth. The six-digit figure on the readout of Yume’s visor was merely a statistic that supported the strained smile that now adorned Yume’s face. His legs spread to shoulder-width, lowering his centre of gravity as his hands came up, fingers curled as though preparing to slash much like a cat pawing with its claws. It’s ironic isn’t it… Rem was fighting to find a reason to continue fighting and here he was, trying to convince him to continue fighting through the very thing that the Namekian was trying to continue doing. How do you save someone by defeating them? Black flames of ki burst forth from the back of Yume’s waistcoat, forming two shrouds in the air behind him that evaporated the rain that passed through it with a sizzle. White tendrils of energy began manifesting all over his body before wrapping themselves around his chest and arms, finally forming a mask that covered his lower face. Yet throughout all this, his energy remained balanced, not affecting the surroundings at all. The warrior let out a final sigh, his transformation completed. ”Show me your soul, and let me know your value of its worth. In return…I’ll show you the light.” Even as he finished his sentence, Yume reached up towards the sky with a clenched fist as he powered up all the way to his maximum. The torrential downpour slowed to a slight drizzle as the clouds that hung overhead lightened from a stormy grey to a lighter shadow of their original shade. An aurora of white and black energy whipped around Yume’s form, evaporating the water still soaking his suit. Light began to shine from the warrior’s left fist over his head as a pillar of white light shot forth from his fist, illuminating the dank ruins around them with its glow. Lowering his arm so that it was pointed outwards to his side, the pillar narrowed and sharpened until it became an eight foot blade of energy that sparkled and hummed with a dangerous, clean noise. Then Yume moved. He seemed to glide along the ground, a forceful burst of energy shooting forth from his back as he shot through the rain towards Rem. Approaching the Namekian, he crossed his left arm in front of his chest before hop-skipping into the air. He allowed gravity to aid him as he assailed Rem with a downward diagonal slash aimed at his left collarbone, taking advantage of his energy sword’s superior reach. Even as Yume attacked with his first swing, he made no wasted movements. His swing seemed to accelerate his descent before he seemed to vanish with a blur. With a burst of sheer speed aided by the rotational force of his descending swing, he forced his body to move beyond its limits to appear behind the Namekian, still cycling with the spin of his first swing. Spiralling around, he hacked at the thighs of Rem’s legs with a scything horizontal sweep of his energy blade, the wind displacement from the force of his swing cleaving a nearby pile of debris in two. His other hand had not been idle, shimmering with speed as he flicked a kunai out from a wrist compartment under his sleeve before sending it upwards at the back of Rem’s skull while he was hopefully distracted by the swing aimed at his legs. Show me your soul. Show me your will! sent Yume telepathically, his eyes boring into Rem’s being as though his innards were laid bare for him to see. WC: 1,114 Actions: Free: Catpaw Stance Mk II 1. The Super Namek

The younger warrior came on, surprising the Namekian with his sudden speed and power. Rem hadn't remembered the other being quite so strong, but then again... Rem had gained massive amounts of strength since he had first battled this young fighter, to think that the other would have simply stood still and allowed him to catch up was folly, and foolishness. There was a snap and crackle of energy, and Rems eyes went wide at the sight of a blade made out of what appeared to be pure energy, snapping into existence in the instant before Yume charged at him, flying across the broken, littered debris in a flash. He's fast... Rem thought, and considered moving out of the way. But that blade of energy... it was long, had range, and Rem wasn't a hundred percent sure how effective Yume could be with it. If he dodged and misjudged, he may very well find himself spitted before the battle had even begun. Defense, then, was the better option. Rem smiled, and felt a warming tingle upon his skin from the sudden shield of energy that coated him. "COME ON!" he roared, and in the next instant took the full force of the young humans attack upon the shoulder. His smile began a wide grin of arrogance as he starred into the eyes of his opponent. In the next moment pain struck him. Sharp, blistering pain that rolled down his shoulder until it met the seam of his armor, and stopped. His mouth opened wide and he nearly screamed, but bit it back, too surprised really to actually do so. What... The helll was that. Then he realized... he had stopped the force of the blow, but not the energy itself. Stupid... he thought, shaking his head and spinning. Yume had moved almost as soon as the blow had landed, working his way around the Namekian in a powerful burst of speed. Rem spun in place, wincing from the pain in his shoulder, but ignoring it. His scabbarded sword stabbed downwards as he spun, but a bare instant late. Rem felt the press of the ki sword against his shield at the same time as he intercepted the blade and pushed it away from himself. He felt heat upon his leg, and if the shield hadn't been in place, he figured there would have been hell to pay... But he'd been lucky. The Namekian's other hand, gripping the head of the staff, slammed outwards with the butt, just as Yume's hand flicked outwards. The Butt of the staff was aimed at Yume's face, and he shoved outwards with the greater portion of his strength, trying to throw the fighter off balance for just an instant. The throwing knife, or whatever it was, zipped by Rem's face, a crackling sound as metal met energy rose in his ears as it passed within bare centimeters of his eye. This guy... has gotten better... Rem thought, and then rushed forward during the small window of time and space he had created for himself, covered blade lashing the air as he closed the distance between them....

Even as Yume’s hand released his kunai, his head was already in motion as it fluidly tilted to the side to avoid the butt of Rem’s staff as it stabbed over his shoulder instead, as though he knew it were coming. Although his race was known for having greater mental powers than most, Rem seemed to have little to no education on the art, his surface thoughts clear as day to the human and allowing him some semblance of ability to predict the Namekian’s attacks. However, it was the other thoughts running through Rem’s head that disappointed the human warrior. He’s still just fighting for the sake of fighting. I’m not forcing him enough. Although it seemed Rem was more than willing to give him the opportunity to prove otherwise as he closed the gap between them in a speeding blur of green and white. Knowing his energy blade would be useless with the size that he had made it for, Yume allowed a ghost of a smile to cross his face as he hopped back from Rem’s charge. His still bladed arm flicked itself forcefully with a sharp motion even as the youth allowed the energy to shatter, sending a storm of bright yet harmless shards of glaring light towards the Namekian’s face and eyes. Having hopefully disorientated the Namekian superhero, Yume’s eyes gleamed as his eyes continued to sweep over Rem’s body looking for soft spots as he took the opportunity to lead in with a forceful knee thrown at his solar plexus. He tried to take advantage of the hopefully winded Rem, his arms shimmering in the rain as they ghosted through the falling drops to strike at the taller Namekian. If one could slow time they would spot a knife hand and a rabbit punch targeting Rem’s esophagus Having struck constantly at Rem’s head up until this point, Yume methodically continued his assault all over the Namekian’s body as he attempted to grab the taller Namekian by the wrists before stabbing forth thrice with a heel kick in an attempt to crush Rem’s sternum. He then tried to dig his foot into the Namekian’s chest, allowing him to push himself into the air where he attempted a rising snap kick to the taller Namekian’s chin. The youth ended with a haymaker that streaked through the air, striking the rain that had already fallen below said limbs as it descended towards the back of Rem’s cranium. With a final burst of ki, Yume managed to hold himself in midair above Rem, throwing a drilling corkscrew punch right at the top of Rem’s head from above, the sheer wind displaced from the blow cratering the ground below. Yume flipped through the air before landing a few metres from the cloud of dust that had risen from his last attack before stomping upon the ground with his left foot, creating a small crater as he held his fists at the ready in a strong fist stance, aura flaring wildly around him. He had been aiming at fatal areas for two reasons. One, because he expected Rem to at least survive that much even if he was in a state. His eyes glowed as he transmitted the second reason to Rem. If you aren’t willing to take a fight seriously enough to survive, I will break you and allow you to drown in your misery and the tears of the sky. Until then, words aren’t necessary. The Super Namek
|
Rem's charge towards Yume was cut short by a sudden burst of light and sparks that near blinded him for a moment. A second too late the Namekians hand came up in an attempt to ward it off. Shit... He thought, and quickly bunched his legs, then threw himself backwards in a teleporting backwards somersault. He had felt exactly how close Yume had gotten to him, unsure of the nature of the attack due to his momentary visual distraction, but sure that he had avoided a rather significant blow either way. Unfortunately, even his reflexive dodge of the first attack wasn't enough to deter the faster warrior's complete assault. His eyes jerked wide in surprise as the follow up attacks jabbed deep into his throat. Automatically he gasped in surprise, and felt a horrible sensation as air refused to flow either up or-as he found out momentarily when he tried to take a breath-down. Forcefully he coughed, trying to right whatever the son of a bitch had done to his throat. Worry about breathing later, fight now, Rem decided. Glaring before him he lifted his staff an inch off the ground, and then slammed downwards-driving it into the deepening mud caused by the ubiquitous, unceasing rains. His other hand shot out to the side, small finger flicking against the scabbard of the sword and sending it spinning end over end into the darkening, broken cityscape. Yume came on again then, reaching out towards the unhindered hand that had held the staff just moments before, his leg rising towards the namekian's chest. Rem moved like a shadow, sliding low upon the ground, knees sliding upon thick mud, his back rolling backwards to clear himself beneath the other fighters leg. His sword lashed out mid slide, slashing against the leg Yume still stood upon. And then Rem was clear, coming to his feet behind the younger, human warrior. The ivory haired fighter spun to face him and leapt for the Namekian, his legs snapping out in a kick that Rem backflipped away from, using the moments breath he had created in his avoidance of the previous attack to his advantage, and creating a small opening. Rem kept moving, even as he caught sight of Yume coming back towards him, descending from the night sky with fist pulled back and obviously intended to knock the hell out of the ground bound Namekian. No chance. He thought, and moved from his backflip into a sidestepping dodge, hand rotating, bringin the blade up, and then following through with an ascending swipe towards the human's tricep. If Yume wanted to play dirty, Rem was more than able to oblige, and would slowly disable him-one muscle group at a time. With that thought in mind the Namekian waited until Yume was back on the ground, and then shifted forward, moving himself at a rapid clip so that, to the untrained eye, it would suddenly appear that the Namekian had moved from before the human, to past him, the sword already finishing its low, half circle rotation that would, presumably, further help to disable the warriors attempt to combat effectively. As soon as the blow was landed Rem continued moving, stopped a dozen yards beyond Yume, back beside his staff, where he had begun. He was good, Yume... But Rem had centuries of battle experience on him. And now that he had regained what had once been lost to him, he was certain that even Yume's rather impressive power would not be a challenge- not yet anyway. He was dangerous, and fought underhanded at times, but those attributes could not, would not overcome the difference in them. If Yume didn't believe Rem took him seriously, then it was only because Rem had faced challengers that dwarfed the young one, and he had risen above them. Shaking his head, Rem dismissed the thoughts and carefully blanked his mind. His thoughts were his own. Rain pelted down violently all around them, and the last wisps of sunlight were slowly beginning to fade in the distance. Soon, the moon and stars would be witness to their battle, or at least its end. Rem intended to end it soon, if he could. He strode forward purposely for three steps, and then simply leapt. His legs bunched and his speed increased dramatically as he appeared in the air, a dozen feet before and above Yume, and sent his arm-already lengthening into its mystic form-thrusting out in an attempt to grab the other fighter by the throat and dash him against the broken concrete and rubble on the ground behind him. Moments later the arm returned, meeting the Namekian Halfway as he near instantly closed the distance between the two, shifting in air so that his knee was before him. At a near forty five degree angle he slammed downwards, hoping to drive that knee into Yume's upper abdomen, and drive it beneath his ribcage where he would be most vulnerable.

OOC: RP Award after this. ![]() Yume wasn’t going to lie, he was rather surprised by the Namekian’s retaliatory attack to his heel kick. It wasn’t the counter itself that surprised the youth, it was the way that Rem had gone about doing it. What the Namekian had done was the equivalent of a Rock Away, a move in boxing where a fighter leaned back to avoid a straight fist before striking while the opponent’s fist was still retracting. Although Rem’s attempt at this counter allowed him to avoid the kick entirely, there were three factors that allowed Yume to dodge the blow. One. Rem was a lot taller than Yume, and as such needed to lean much further back just to allow the kick to pass over him. Two, the fact that Yume had used a kick which wasn’t as simple to retract meant that Rem was left to slide his way to attempt a slash upon Yume’s still planted leg. These first two factors were what allowed Yume to take advantage of the third reason Rem’s counter would fail. Haretsu Seigan. A small bubble of ki instantly materialized under Yume’s grounded foot before he blasted into the air, mud and debris exploding into the air in a geyser. His previously planted leg swung back, performing a mid-air forward split as Rem’s blade sliced through the air where his thigh had been earlier. Yume was sure Rem must’ve flabbergasted at what had just happened. The youth couldn’t help but remember how blank his face had been when he had actually tested his technique on a whim during a spar with Master Roshi.... To put it simply, the technique Yume had invented was an improved variation of the Bukujutsu technique developed for high speed combat. Rather than focus on a continued release of ki for flight and speed however, the Haretsu Seigan focused on releasing small to large violent bursts of ki from points on the body to give manoeuvrability and evasion. It helped that the technique was a lot easier to use than the Bukujutsu which required constant concentration. To the white-haired warrior, this technique of his reflected his fighting style. There was never a complete pattern, never any repetitions that could be exploited by an opponent. He continued to relentless probe at his opponent, always finding new weak points to strike at with every change the battle took. Even as he continued to press upon his assault, Yume continued to allow his variation of the Bukujutsu to augment and guide his movements as he pressured the Namekian just like the rain that weathered down the two fighters. He frowned in mid-strike as Rem suddenly shifted in the midst of his flip, his body beginning to shift to the side. With the way that the two of them were fighting, using a blade as large as the one the emerald alien possessed was more cumbersome and telegraphing than the advantages of having said blade. In this case, said blade had played the Namekian’s ploy too early, having forced him change momentum while Yume was still in the air and out of reach of the blade that was now streaking up at his descending form. With a rough burst of ki, Yume seemed to leap off an invisible platform in the air, using the Haretsu Seigan to twist gracefully to the side in midair as the blade slashed by in front of his chest. A small cut appeared on his wrist that had trailed in front of his chest mid-spin, although the damage was more cosmetic than anything. However, the youth had involuntarily conceded first blood to the Namekian. He frowned as he landed on his feet, facing Rem and felt…confidence? Or overconfidence… thought Yume as Rem blurred through the rain straight towards him. The youth arm’s flickered in place, the friction from the blurring in his arms causing the water that had soaked his sleeves to steam and evaporate. Focusing on his sense of touch he waited for the slightest sensation of wind and displaced water before he spun around, his arms snapping out in a blur, grabbing what must have been a surprised Rem by his wrists mid-swing. With a violent shove, Yume forced the blade away from his body and hopped back to the minimum safe distance of twelve feet, glaring daggers at the Namekian. Did Rem honestly think that he was fast enough to get away with dashing straight past him in order to strike him from behind? This is unlike him… thought Yume as he delved into the Namekian’s surface thoughts once more…
…… Yume’s eyes glinted dangerously. As mildly pleased as he was to see that Rem had regained some vigour and spirit since the start of the fight, it had manifested in the wrong form. The thoughts he had found were not those of Rem, hero and defender. There was a thin line between arrogance and overconfidence, and the Namekian had crossed it with nary a hint of regret. Anyone could get lucky. Battle experience meant nothing. What mattered was a mastery of one’s own body and reflexes along with just enough experience to use said traits to their full potential. It was easier to discover a new ability and figure out how to defeat it than think through centuries of said experience to discover an answer that could be discovered far more easily through observation alone… The ability to read an opponent’s mind certainly helped though, especially one as focused as Rem’s. It made evading the attack that much easier. Yume’s muscles were relaxed yet at the ready as he counted the Namekian’s steps through the pouring rain. One, two, three! Just as Rem had vanished in a blur upon his third step, pouncing upon the human as he materialized a mere dozen feet in front of him. Yet the youth had been ready, already knowing of the dramatic boost in speed Rem had planned in an attempt to catch him by surprise. There was a span of a dozen feet from Rem’s stretching arm to Yume’s neck, the outstretched hand descending from the darkening sky and slapping through the falling rain towards him… Yume only needed to shift to the side by a twentieth of that distance to evade the offending limb. The human warrior crouched before leaping up at the exposed Rem, reaching to grab the hurriedly retracting arm that had smashed against the concrete as it shot past him. The limb accelerated his own momentum as he spotted the green-skinned hero strike forward with a desperate knee. Twisting his grip upon the retracting arm, he pushed himself upwards with a surge, his waist now level with Rem’s head. His left leg raised itself in midair, his foot planting itself against Rem’s rising knee, leaving his head well and truly exposed. His other foot shot forward in a brutal attempt to stomp the Namekian’s face in, centering on his nose and forehead. Hoping Rem was staggered, Yume then continued to try to poleaxe the Namekian’s concentration by flinging a twisting corkscrew shot at Rem’s right temple, attempting to smash him straight into the ground. All right, so far this fight is going pretty intensely, and I dig it quite a bit. There's a lot of fun growth ICly all around, as well as a lot of good fighting. I had to go through the posts several times in order to come up with an RP award winner, and in fact, I had to actually invent a numerical system to do so, because it was so close.
Due to these numbahs here, I'm going to award Rem the RP Award. Now for some concerns-
That's from the Telepathy description, so I'm not clear as to how Yume is reading Rem's thoughts, bro XD It's meant that way to keep from powergaming, which is what some of your posts appear to touch on, mostly that last one, thus the hit to Validity. In addition, as far as Counters are concerned, the site description reads that they are avoidable under "very rare circumstances." To me, that means that where you used the Telepathy dodge to avoid the first attack. Yume has a less-than 10% advantage in Speed over Rem, so even with using Power Fly, I'm going to rule that the first counter avoidance was unsuccessful. The secondary avoidance...no. You took that counter, mang ![]() With that being said though, that does beget a 50% miss chance. Roll(1d100)+0: 20,+0 Total:20 Roll(1d100)+0: 19,+0 Total:19 Per the roller on the site, and thus the SAs, the counters, did miss to begin with. So ya'll are still Grappling, Rem has the RP award, and is up next. Any concerns can be brought to me via PM or IM. |

Missed... Damn. Was Rem's last thought just before he slammed full bore into the ground, knee leading the way. A cascade of debris and dust rained down upon him in the next moments as he knelt there, half submerged in a crater of his own making-quickly filling with water from the rains above and the groundwater flowing freely over its sides. Now, where did he... and then, as if in answer to his question his scouter beeped and showed an indicator to his right. Shit! Rem released his grip on the sword in his right hand and brought both hands together in a two handed blocking formation. Yume's foot appeared out of the darkness, a heavy stomp coming towards the Namekian face. Rem was in an awkward position, facing forward with the attack coming from the right. Although he managed to block the full force and intended target of the attack, he couldn't stop from being thrown leftward simply from the residual strength of the other, even after the block. Rem gasped as his back hit the side of the newly formed crater, and was glad he had. It had only been a dozen seconds or so since his last breath, but in high paced combat like this the body thrived on oxygen, and he was beginning to feel the lack. Rem lay half sprawled over the lip of the miniature canyon for a second and opened his mouth wide, sucking in another gasp of precious air, forcing it down his bruised, but apparently not permanently damaged esophagus. That extra breath, that precious moment, gave Yume the time needed to launch yet another attack, hurtling out of the deepening darkness like some demonic wet-cat, hair plastered to the sides of his head and loose clothing outlining his figure as it clung to him. Rem threw himself forward then, hands at his sides grabbing against the sides of the crater lip and thrusting himself forward. He rolled, head first, down into the deepest part once more, hands moving hurriedly over the broken concrete and mud, searching for the sword he had dropped just moments earlier. THERE! He exulted as he caught sight of the hilt sticking up bare inches from what must have already been a foot of water that had accumulated. Rem snapped up the blade with his right hand, spun and launched himself back into the darkness just beyond sight. A half dozen rushing, high kneed half leaps, and he was closing back on Yume. "RWAA!!" he roared, his voice cracking and pain slithering down his throat from the battered vocal muscles. There was no form, no style involved in what Rem did; he simply leapt. He cleared the ground, water spraying outward from the ground where his feet pushed off, and leaping from his white cloak (which was a definite, dirty brown by that point). He attempted to spear yume-wrapping his arms around the others midsection- and drive him free of the crater and into the destroyed infrastructure that still lay half intact beyond the debris ridden hole in the earth. They, or at least Rem, skidding along the ground for a half dozen yards before slowing, stopping. And then Rem was leaping into the air, hoping to meet Yume as he too rose from the ground, and spun-unleashing a powerful roundhouse kick aimed for the human's face. "Ha!" Rem shouted, at the same instant his feet touched back down upon Earth and his right hand rose, an ascending cut aimed to draw diagonally from Yume's lower left to upper right chest. Then he was backflipping once more, clearing some distance between the two. His eyes flicked over the other fighter, looking for signs of weakness, signs that he may be tiring or ready to fall... But he looked strong, powerful still, and resolved. Good. Rem was going to make him pay for their first fight. Make him pay in full. A Namekian might be able to regenerate arms, but too many disregarded the fact it hurt no less than it did for anyone else to lose an arm. Rem moved then, closing the distance between the two of them in a flash of barely visible motion. The sword was already descending as he appeared there, striking downwards with an intense ferocity, aimed for Yume's right shoulder. As he pulled the sword free Rem struck out with a heavy knee to the human's groin, putting a measure of power behind it. It was a cheap trick, but sometimes those were the best tricks.

"Hraaa!" Rem groaned as his knee rose into the groin of his opponent. His opponents eyes widened for an instant in shock and pain, and Rem used that opening to bring his left arm to the right, clasping both pals around the hilt of the Katana before rotating his body in a powerful, sideways hammerblow attack. He hoped to send the foe crashing into a massive pile of rubble that had once been a stone and concrete building off to the side. Even as Yume, presumably, went streaking away from the Namekian Rem leapt into the air and took off, an aura of power rising around him as he sped along bare meters behind the others hurtling form. At the last instant Rem spun in air, flipping himself around so that his right leg led the way. He crashed into the building a hairs breadth behind the fighter, attempting to drive his foot deep into the gut of his disadvantaged foe. As the smoke and dust from the destroyed rubble about them cleared, Rem's hand fumbled for the belt pouch yume carried. He quickly fished around inside the front pocket, figuring that he would find something... Ah, yes! With a smirk of victory Rem backflipped out of the rubble strewn landscape. A moment later he teleported into the air high above, quickly stuffing his procurred senzu bean in his own belt pouch before bring his arms together and launching a thin, violent beam of energy streaking towards Yume. Unsatisfied with leaving it as such, Rem brought his hands together again in a near Kamehameha type motion, "HRAAA!!" he shouted, a beam of thick, blue energy firing out before seperating into a half dozen individual blasts that fell rapidly towards Yume, and then came together at his location, Exploding as one massive ball of destructive force. "It's over Yume! Give it up!" The Namekian Shouted down, and proceeded to power up to his first stage maximum, preparing to continue if the other fighter desired it...

The Janitor

Yume wasn’t sure how he ended up in the state he was in. Nor how many blows he had taken. The pain seemed to just be throughout his body. The arrogant yet cowardly Namekian cur had managed to disorientate himself somehow, striking viciously and underhandedly. Had it not been for the improved endurance of his body in his new form, he doubted he would’ve taken any of the blows as well as he did. Yet he was still left bruised and battered, blood dripping from his chest and shoulder. A wet, hacking cough escaped the warrior’s mouth as he was struck by a resounding hammerblow that sent him flying into the distance. On the inside however, the emotional aspect behind his transformation began to burn within his chest, nagging at his mind. There was nothing in Rem that was worth redeeming. All the pain seemed to fade away, the rain washing away his stoic demeanor, replacing it with the power that fuelled his transformation. Fury. His senses burned, the world’s energies moving as though in slow motion. In his mind’s eye, Yume could feel the fallen hero approaching him. The gravel crunched into dust beneath his feet, as he abruptly seemed to shrug off the blows to his body. His flying momentum abruptly came to a halt, mud and earth violently ripping into the air from the two trenches his legs had created in the earth. The assassin was sure his abrupt recovery must have caught the Namekian by surprise. His eyes and senses heightened by a newfound clarity and focus, his arm seemed to blur through the air as it shot forward in anticipation of its clash with Rem’s kick. However, if one had the ability to sense energy they would be able to detect the sudden concentration of ki within Yume’s left arm, causing it to slice through the air even faster than Rem’s leg. Absolute Zero. Yume’s face was absolutely blank as a wave of ice seemed to form in the air just as his hand was about to make contact with Rem’s leg. The wave suddenly expanded as it enveloped the Namekian’s leg and body in ice, threatening to freeze even his very limbs to the bone. Given the similarities that Namekians and plants shared, one couldn’t help but wonder whether or not the ice technique Yume had used wouldn’t have a far more serious affect than if he had used the technique on another human. However this thought had no place in Yume’s mind, as he absently noted the coward’s thieving hands had managed to take something from one of his pockets. There was no room for thought, morality or communication. Yume’s continued blank expression only matched the absence of all emotion within his mind. Rather, there was only the mental command to inflict pain on Rem. It was the basic human instinct, to rise and attack that which has made itself known as a threat. A spike of ki from above him alerted him to Rem charging energy from above a moment before the indicators of his scouter gave him the same information in statistics. As accurate as a scouter was, the reaction time it took to acknowledge the information and respond to it paled to the instantaneous sensation that detecting said energies mentally provided. With the altitude that Rem had opted to fire his beam from, it gave Yume more than enough time to gather enough energy for a beam of his own. His hands interlocked above his head, one hand in front of the other. A miasma of darkness materialized above his head in an instant, his energy flowing through him eagerly, awaiting its opportunity to sear the Namekian in vengeance. The orb of energy above his hands pulsed in eagerness as it grew, awaiting its master’s command to destroy. There was no need to search the sky with his eyes, his mind could feel where he needed to guide his energy, locking onto the growing signature of the airborne Namekian. Giving a soundless cry, his own wave of darkness slammed into the descending, violet beam. Yume glared upwards at the struggling beams before forcing his beam to quadruple in size, the swelling of the outer edges of the beam making the wave resemble a gaping maw as it swallowed the smaller purple beam whole before rushing upwards, threatening to engulf Rem whole. Yet a second spike of ki warned him that that Rem wasn’t quite done as a glinting blue light streaked down from the sky. Crossing his arms, Yume began to gather energy throughout his body. A red outline began to form around his body as he emotionlessly watched the beam split into several orbs of azure light that streaked towards his motionless form. The next moment, his view was only that of fiery death… Or it would’ve been had the wave of destruction come into contact with him. Instead, his body welcomed the potential destruction, his body glowing white before he was surrounded by an enormous supernova of pure flame. He welcomed the feeling of fire and death, a mist beginning to rise from the volume of rain that vaporized instantly upon contact with the fires surrounding him It was rather poetic in a sense, Yume taking the energies that had indirectly caused the ruin of the city around him and using them to bring Rem down. His fingers reached calmly into his pocket, withdrawing a silver orb as he eyed the strengthening Rem. If the Namekian thought he was simply going to let him power up unhindered, he obviously didn’t know better. The grenade in Yume’s hand was pitched at supersonic speeds as it rocketed towards the midair Rem before exploding violently, a mass of icy mist and liquid nitrogen forming an aurora of frozen raindrops in the air around Rem. Said pitcher of the grenade appeared at the edge of the blast radius a few feet from the hopefully frozen Namekian a moment later, both hands outstretched. With a soundless echo, a violent ripple of ki warped the air around the two as it shot forth in an attempted to sever Rem’s head from his body, if not flatten and crush his skull entirely. The human warrior relentlessly followed up with a second downward pulse that was directed at the top of the Namekian’s skull, focusing downwards and centered around his shoulders. Sweat and blood dripped from Yume’s form as he emotionlessly prepared himself to continue. There would be no stopping for him. You fight to find a reason to continue. ----Going back to the Beam Struggle--- Rem's teeth chattered as he channeled the ferocious beam of energy towards his opponent far below. The son of a bitch had hit him with some sort of... ice cube attack or something when Rem had gone in for that last assault. It was slowly creeping up his leg, moving up his lower abdomen, and if he didn't do something about it soon, it would probably encompass all of him. To make matters worse, Yume seemed to have decided to go insane... He had matched his power against Rems, and their beams were popping and spasming far below, vying against one another for control of the beams direction- and eventual target. "He doesn't know he has no chance...." Rem said to himself, realizing just how low his power level was, and what Yume must have assumed after fighting for this long and not seeing the Namekian's raise a bit. "He's going to find this a very... Unfortunate lesson to learn." Rem grunted, straining against the attack. Yume's own beam was pushing the head of the opposing blasts towards him. The Namekian wasn't going to have time to power up and unleash his full energy in response, but he could... "KAIOKEN!" Rem screamed, and red fire seemed to burst to life around him. His strength and muscle density surged, and from the friction of the energy the icyness around his legs suddenly shattered (mostly already melted from the intense heat of the Ion beam not a foot or so away). "HRAAAA!!" The Namekian roared, increasing the output of energy with a will, expending precious amounts of his power in order to more quickly end this ill conceived struggle of titanic and destructive force. He didn't want to kill Yume, he was pretty sure he didn't anyway. So the Namekian allowed the beam heads to get closer to himself, closer, knowing this was going to hurt, but figuring he still held the advantage. He would be thrown into the darkening twilight sky, while Yume would feel the pressure wave slam down upon him, driving him into the wet Earth and rubble below. After a few moments he thought the beam head was about even between them, and with a final pulse of power he winced, just as the explosion ripped apart the night and threw him head over ass through the air. -------------------------------------------------------- ---After powering up--- "Shit..." Rem muttered as Yume reappeared before him, hands lashing out in a thrusting motion. A powerful crest of wind energy slammed into his armored chest and head, momentarily knocking the breath from him. His scouter pinged as it recognized another of the powerful wind bursts coming, and he rolled through the air, managing to evade it just in time to feel its edges blow past, whistling its threatening song. "Enough of that." Rem muttered, flipping into a somersault as he descended the last few feet towards the ground. He touched down with a 'tok', and noticed his staff was still standing up straight in the ground. "Time to get serious, if he wants to play hard..." Rem said to himself. He took off at a run, swiping the staff from the ground with his free hand, Katana swinging low, its tip nearly touching the ground as he picked up speed. He charged yume then, The blade alighting with fire in the instant before he lashed out with his first blow, an upward diagonal strike across Yume's chest. He spun in place, the blade descending as he tried to get around Yume's back, and tore a ragged line through the air as it passe through what Rem hoped would be the human's back. He spun once more, almost 270 degrees from where he had started, at Yume's side, and slashed once more- a horizontal strike meant to further the blood letting. "You mistake me, Yume." Rem said with a growl, hopping back a few paces. "You aren't facing the fresh, naive Namek you ambushed and mutilated so long ago. You are facing a warrior who has seen more destruction and death than you would if you were to watch this entire planet burn around you. You wonder why I fight? What I fight for?" Rem smiled then, raising the burning sword before his eyes to cast a demonic play of shadows across his features. "I fight for Justice. Fuck honor, fuck Pride. I win. Or innocents die. And people like you..." Rem snarled then, unable to even finish the thought.

Rulings- Critical Effect- Immobilize Roll(1d100)+0: 72,+0 Total:72 No go. Also having done the math a few times to make sure, the beam struggle was indeed canceled out by Rem and both Ion Beams explode in the middle of ya'll. While Yume's was 'Empowered' it was not 'Charged' and that means they are both uncharged Advanced, which follow the path normally. Rem fired, Yume overpowered, and then Rem matched again on his turn, causing them to explode. Now, I'll repeat this part:
Ya'll are going to get hurt from that. One Ion beam is 'almost the whole battlefield' and while you are a distance away, you've got one Empowered one and one with a ton of ki in it. Yeah. Ya'll are taking some damage. |

OOC: It's actually ruled that Empowering somethng causes it to be considered 'charged', so not sure what you're on about there. -------------- Any sane person would've been stunned by the fact that Rem had suffered little to no damage from a shockwave of energy to the face. Yume just took it as a sign that he wasn't hitting the Namekian hard enough. Bolstered by this notion, his muscles expanded slightly as he settled into the mindset that was needed to engage the Kaioken. Despite the beginning onsets of sluggishness due to lactic acid secretions, his mind continued its mantra.. 'I have limits, I just refuse to acknowledge them. A thin film of white ki began shimmering over his skin as he brought his hands up in anticipation of Rem's next move. The rain arced before falling to the sides around him, as though sliding off an invisible suit. Even as Rem's katana scythed upwards in its attempt to form a 'X' upon his already-scarred chest, the assassin's hands had moved into the path of the rising blade. Geki. There was a violent flash of white lightning before the bade was forcefully repelled from Yume's hands, not leaving a mark upon his skin. However, it seemed that the Namekian's strength now surpassed his. Despite using both his hands to block the one-armed swing from Rem's katana, he found himself sliding backwards through the mud, losing ground against the taller Namekian. Losing traction, he could only try to loosen his body in defence against the Namekian's second swing as it clashed with another set of white sparks against his back. Although the blade managed to sink into his flesh, the barrier's resistance couped with the lack of said resistance in his own body meant that he was merely sent flying with an inch deep cut in his side rather than being bifurcated. However, the fact that the blade drew blood meant that his shield was failing. As Rem spun around for his third swing, Yume blasted forward through the air straight at the Namekian. With a surging dash, he forcefully halted Rem's swing by rushing inside the range of his blade, his still burning palms lashing out to halt Rem's sword wrist from initiating the blow before sliding under said arm to flip to a midair halt behind him. His opponent did likewise, hopping back a few paces where they stood evenly once more under the surging rain...
Yume cocked his head to the side, his voice monotonic as he stared Rem dead in the eye, willing the Namekian to meet them. "Is that what you think?" The human reached up, pointing towards Rem. If one could see from Yume's point of view however, his finger seemed to be focused on Rem's left eye. He waited for the slightest lowering of the Namekian's guard before striking out, firing a lancing needle of dark energy that almost appeared invisible under the night sky to disorientate him. Yume's aura flared, bringing the power of the Kaioken to bear once more as he sent a pair of kunai streaking through the rain at supersonic speeds with impeccable accuracy. One soared towards Rem's throat, the other at his chest while the Namekian was hopefully disorientated by the Suiken. With a final flourish, Yume withdrew an armband from his pocket before slipping it onto his left wrist. "It really doesn't matter what you think, but you're certainly welcome to try and prove me wrong." If he was still standing, that was. ----------------------------------------------------------- 1. ooc- You forgot to adjust your PL last post. No worries. Also, triple strike can not be completely blocked. So that 3rd strike will need to be counted as a partial block I guess. *Thruum.... Thruum* Slowly, the staff in Rem's left hand began to twirl at his side. In his right he rotated the sword back and forth, preparing to make a move as soon as Yume made clear his plan of attack. Rem's eyes darted from the warrior's eyes, to his shoulders and back-waiting for any sign of movement from his core. And then... Everything seemed to happen at once. Yume's finger rose, seemed to point directly between Rem's eyes, and then fired a beam of fast energy. *Thruum, KAARRAAAACK!* The sound of the Ki blast slamming into the Spinning staff was loud, and its sudden jerk as energy struck like lightning in the instant after Rem rotated it from his left to before him nearly ripped the wooden weapon from his hand. Rem went ahead and let it drop, moving to grab the hilt of his Katana with both hands, JUST as yume threw something that shone darkly in the pale moonlight. He didn't even move, unsure of whether he was either fast or accurate enough to deflect the deadly blade. Instead, he simply powered just a bit of energy along the hilt of the sword. The blade began to vibrate and let off a mournful, mono-tonal sound not unlike that of a tuning fork after it has been struck. The sliver of metal crossed the meters long distance between them in a flash. There was a high pitched 'tink' sound, and it spun end over end away. A bare hairsbreadth later there was a second 'tink', and Rem saw another of the throwing knives sailing off in the opposite direction. He hadn't even seen that one coming... A moment later the tonging sound of the sword died away to nothing, and Rem let it swing down and free to his side. "Are you quite done yet?" He asked, "You are never going to beat me. Accept that. Your power level is dropping, your energy is waning." Rem hung the bare blade at his waist, flicking a noose around its hilt. That would hold it well enough until he could find wherever he had thrown that damned scabbard... He bent and picked up his staff, keeping one eye towards Yume at all time- wondering when he was going to make another strike. Finally, he straightened and turned back towards the other, holding the staff in two hands. "I would show you just how outmatched you are... But you don't deserve to see the power of a True Warrior. What I have brought forth will be enough to defeat you, and it is all you will be allowed to see... Let that rest within your mind, Yume. Wonder, forever, just how much I have surpassed you- if you are the type who dwells upon such things..." "If you will not yield... Then I will break you. Simple as that." Rem made a quick motion with his right hand, bringing up the Staff and... slamming it into the improvised holder upon his back. With both hands free he brought them out before him and began to channel energy. Rem began to intone as the balls luminescent rose to scale with their power level... And then as one, he threw them at Yume. Two fingers on either hand controlled them, and he immediately seperated them from one another, trying to break the attention of the defender between them, before coming together just seconds apart to slam down wherever Yume was at that particular moment. Even before the twin explosions settled more energy had been gathered, his scouter checked to ensure Yume's power level wasn't in danger of winking out completely, and then released. Rem fired off the second Kakusandan of the night, letting its powerful blue beam sail into the air above Yume before striking down as a hail fire of blasting destruction. Once more the Namekian's eye hovered over his scouter, and with a reluctant gesture of annoyance allowed yet another Spirit Ball form. There was no fancy tricks or movements here, simply the charge and release of powerful energies, meant to weaken his foe until he could no longer stand to fight... The Namekian was exhilarated by the expulsion of so much energy. When sparring Kular or Sai he was limited by what he could do, what he dare attempt to ensure their safety... But here... In absolute truth, Yume's life meant very little to the Namekian. Rem knew barely anything about the man, but what he did know was not good. Was he a villian, or simply a diabolical warrior with no conscience? What was he? WOULD it be better to kill him? To rid the Earth of his taint? "HAAA!!" The Namekian shouted, without further thought. He thrust his arms forward and released two bolts of powerful energy, one from each palm, which headed towards Yume before exploding into dazzling light and fire. Rem breathed out, hard. He would have sweat, but the rain drizzling down upon him from above kept his skin moist and cool. His heart thudded in his chest, his veins and arteries pumped furious, oxygenated blood through his system to keep up with his exertions. "Time to end this..." The Namekian said, and drew forth the katana once more from his side. He starred across the distance between himself and Yume... And then he moved. Like a bolt of lightning he crossed the intervening distance, sword pulling back before thrusting forward at the unprotected abdomen of his human foe.

OOC: I explained why the third block is successful.
Yume was losing. Even if he wasn’t losing outright, merely keeping up with Rem wasn’t the same thing as winning. Yet here Rem was, offering him a way out… He laughed. Despite the bruises and the bleeding wounds upon his body, he laughed. He was numb to the point that he couldn’t even feel the rain that drenched his form even now. Yet he continued to guffaw like a madman as he stared through the darkness to meet Rem’s gaze. ”I’m never going to beat you? I can’t win? Why can’t I win?” asked Yume, his laughter dying to a mere chuckle. The mere thought of surrender was hilariously stupid. So the Namekian thought he could break him? ”Show me my limits, so that I can do what you failed to do.” In response to his challenge, Rem’s power level surged before a luminescent pair of azure orbs shone in either of the Namekian’s hands. Yume’s eyebrow’s rose as the pair of orbs shot wide to either side before spiralling towards him in a pincer. The youth grinned at the straightforward tactic before doggedly charging at the left ball in a blur of speed. Did Rem really think he was simply going to try to evade both orbs until he was unable to focus between the two? No, he was going to nip the attack in the bud and pre-emptively deal with them with the time advantage Rem had so helpfully given him. His arm surrounded in a glowing field of white light, he forcefully met the incoming orb with his own fist, striking it from above before leaping into the air as the ball struck the ground beneath him violently before exploding in a shower of light. ”Or maybe I won’t have to struggle against this technique at all,” muttered Yume thoughtfully as he studied the feel of the few particles of Rem’s ki that had splintered from the main attack onto his arm, feeling the nature of the energy flow. Having finished his analysis of the energy with a nod, the air filled with an unearthly screech as Yume’s aura seemed to pulsate in the form of a wavelength. He spun around just as the second Spirit Ball struck him forcefully in the chest. However, the moment it did so, the unearthly screech only intensified. The waves of Yume’s aura continued to pulsate around the orb that was trying to drill its way through to the human’s chest, only to expand before violently exploding in a wide field of energy. Yet even the explosion washed around Yume’s form, obscuring him from the Namekian’s view while leaving him completely unharmed. However it seemed that Rem knew his attack had done little effect as Yume sensed a third, different attack surging towards him. Although he recognized the signature of the attack Rem was using as the expanding attack known as the Kakusandan, the Shishio could only be used effectively with one particular technique. Focusing one’s aura to emit a wavelength that negated another’s technique was a complicated process that was difficult to perform more than once. Say what you would about the white-haired bastard, he put a lot of effort into learning esoteric techniques that kept him from being killed. Such as the one he was about to use… ”How much energy does he have to burn? It doesn’t matter…” ”YOU’RE NOT DOING ENOUGH!” roared Yume defiantly, his scream warping the air in front of him before there was a thunder-like crack. Although he couldn’t see it through the plume of smoke, Yume could still feel Rem’s attack waver under the force of his Kiai before shattering into sparkles of dust. Speaking of dust… A muddied and dirt-covered Yume shot out of the fading dust cloud, taking in a deep breath of fresh air. He noted dimly yet another ki attack that was almost blinding to his senses with its presence as it shot towards him. However Yume noted the type of attack and allowed himself a moment of reprieve even as the familiar Spirit Ball collided with his aura once more in a violent screech before exploding once more, showering the youth in mud and grime. He WAS getting tired. His mind was straining from the effort of keeping up his Kaioken as well as his senses… ”Damn it!” thought Yume exhaustedly, his body still quick to instinctively kick off the muddy ground hard before he shot into the air with a burst of ki. However, the explosion of the twin lances of light still managed to catch his feet and ankles in the blast radius, leaving stinging burns, as tolerable as they were. ”Thank goodness it’s raining.” He stared down at the Namekian in defiance, hands held defensively in front of him. Calmly appearing unruffled was for heroes and idiots. Yume’s stance was more than solid enough to deliver his intended message to Rem… ”I’m still here.” Rem’s response was swift, his form tearing through the sky in a straight path. It was quite heroic and commanding in its performance as his blade cut through the air in front of him. But heroics were for idiots. As fast as the Namekian was, in the moment he had taken to draw his katana, Yume had already gathered enough energy in his arms to match whatever Rem had planned. A straightforward sword attack was nearly the last thing Yume had expected. ”This…is exactly why I gave up on being a hero.” Even as Rem’s blade threatened to tear into flesh, all it met was an icy mist that washed over Rem's sword and arms before threatening to flow over the Namekian's entire body before solidifying into a truck-sized orb of ice. Yume's hands then slammed together with a burst of ki before rapidly cycling his hands around each other in concentric circles above his head. A small vortex of wind began forming around his arms before the youth violently thrust his arms to his sides, expanding the vortex to expand. Spinning in the air, he maneuvered himself below the Namekian before punching up into the sky. As though answering his request, a tornado descended from the heavens to meet the spiraling vortex of wind above Yume's head, trapping the hopefully frozen Rem inside before it began grinding and slicing everything within into nothingness. Staring up through the eye of the vortex, Yume breathed heavily before muttering under his breath. ”I’d rather be a nameless warrior who succeeded than a remembered hero who fell.” Actions: 1. The Super Namek

Even as Rem charged Yume, he could see the energy reading on his scouter going up. "Shit..." He muttered, pretty sure he knew what Yume was about to try-after all, he had done the same thing the last time Rem had gotten this close to him in a charging attack. I should stop that... Rem thought to himself, just as Yume's hand shot forward and released a swirling vortex of freezing ass cold energy. He wasn't going to get close enough to stab Yume, that was certain now. The tip of the sword frosted over, and ice sped along the length of its blade towards him, creeping over the hand guard in an instant, and rushing towards the hilt his hands held. "No Chance!" Rem roared, and his forward motion stopped upon a dime. He released his hold on the frozen sword and used his energy to 'powerfly' himself away, feet skidding along the ground as he slammed backwards, kicking up rubble and destroyed bits of the local cityscape. He could feel the tips of his fingers, cold like having just touched ice in a freezer. It stung, but he'd managed to... "Son of a Bitch!" Rem suddenly shouted as he looked up. There, framed in the placid moonlight, was his katana... sitting in a crystal clear block of ice. Think I read shit like this in a book once... Rem thought as he stared through the ice block for a second, at Yume beyond. "Going to need that back..." he muttered to himself. It was almost art, in its aestheticism. But... well, you couldn't stab someone with art, and that was what Rem wanted to do at that particular moment. So, with an almost regretful, embarrassed look at Yume, Rem walked forward, pulled his arm back, and then slammed it forward with all of his strength. It shattered, and he hurriedly reached in and grabbed his sword. Then Rem had a thought... "How the hell did he get hit with all my attacks, and not even react..." Rem pushed some buttons on his scouter, and checked the recording of what had happened... Apparently, Yume's Aura had... done something. "Ohhh... that's neat." He realized that, somehow, the other warrior had managed to sync up the energy wavelength of HIS attacks, with Yume's own energy, so the attacks and Yume had the same power signature, and they became completely useless as anything more than a light show. He clicked a few more buttons on the scouter, saving that particular portion of the battle-wanting to see if he could learn how to do that later... Rem's breathing had started to slow a bit in the time it had taken to retrieve his sword and checked out that technique, but he was still beginning to feel the edges of fatigue at his peripheries. "Shit..." he muttered, and took a heavy breath. Yume hadn't stayed still while the Namek had retrieved his sword. Instead, he was spinning in a circle. "Hey... I know that technique..." Rem realized aloud. With a grin, he began to vibrate the edges of his sword again, much more than he had a minute previous. He was going to need to really put in some effort if he was going to stop a tornado with a katana... And then it was inbound, roaring along like a demented avatar of mother nature herself. "RWAAA!!!" Rem roared, lifting the sword high, an aura of power arising around it. The tornado got closer, and closer. "HAAA!!" Rem shouted, refusing to be lifted off his feet and thrown around all willy nilly, refusing... Until... The winds died down a bit, the tornado seemed to decrease in size. It was still closing on him, but it wasn't as powerful or destructive. His sword thrummed with power as it dissipated and absorbed the powerful energies, and Rem could feel the backwash of power soaring through him, revitalizing him just a bit- but taking away none of the fatigue he felt. It was a strange dichotomy of give and take. A few moments later the tornado was still there... But it was simply a lazy, twisting wind upon the ground; half a foot tall, and languidly rolling this way and that- dissipating into the night's chill air. "Close... Well, not really." Rem said to himself. "Really, Yume." Rem shouted. "You have some neat tricks... But it's over. You can't keep this up, I know it!" Then, Rem slammed the Katana back in its scabbar and turned, throwing himself into the air at full speed. He created distance between himself and Yume, and started to charge power... Charge like he hadn't charged thus far in this fight. If Yume was going to keep avoiding his weaker attacks, then it was time to do something truly impressive. He continued flying, turning backwards as he soared higher, and higher into the air. This... was going to be a big explosion, and he wanted to be nowhere near it. A yellow light appeared in his hands, and then grew, and grew. It began to fluctuate and pulsate with power, but still Rem continued pouring energy in- right up until the point where he felt it becoming wildly unstable, and knew that anything more might just cause it to blow up in his face. "HRAAAAA!!!!" The Namekian shouted, and sent the massive beam of energy shooting towards the warrior below, wondering just how Yume was going to get out of THIS attack....

"It'd be so easy to just give up right now," thought the human tiredly as the great force of nature that he had conjured, a rising elemental vortex of fury... Was stopped by Rem and a pointy piece of metal. To be fair, the impressive piece of metal had left more than its fair share of bleeding cuts upon the youth; frankly the fact that it had drawn blood from him at all was one drop of blood too many. His blood-tinged suit agreed with him, looking more like a cut up piece of cloth than any regular article of clothing. It didn't help that the environment was one that didn't suit Yume's fighting style at all. The ground held no advantages for him, especially with its slippery surface and an opponent who could stretch his arms at will. With a relatively ruined and clear battlefield, the only thing Yume had to use was his own fighting ability. For someone like him who was used to using everything the other fighter didn't have to bring them down, a straight-on fight against Rem was less than ideal. Frankly, it sucked. He had no advantages at close range due to the Namekian's weapons, his mid range was shot to hell by the Namekian's ability to stretch his limbs and his long range... Although he may have had an advantage at long range, the fact was that his lack of practice with his latest transformation was draining him dry. If it went on any longer, he wouldn't have a 'long range' to use. As though voicing his own thoughts out loud, Rem's voice cut through the dark storm between them...
The white-haired warrior fought smart, he knew it. But the tactic that he was about to use came from one of the most idiotic fighters he knew. Yet he couldn't deny that each time he had done so, it had worked to great effect... He didn't have anything else to try anyway. Although Gohan had never worded this particular tactic, the way he fought emphasized its simple brilliance well enough. "When you're all out of ideas, do the dumbest thing you can think of." It would be stupid to continue to charge headlong against Rem with his depleting reserves. Yet the youth's aura flared with hidden strength that he had yet to tap into as he chased after the ascending Namekian. Rain was blown away by the two rising warriors as they ascended into the pouring sky. Feeling Rem's energy begin to grow, Yume's eyes narrowed. He knew how large the blast radius was for the attack the Namekian was about to use. His body shimmered with renewed vigor before continuing on after Rem. Yet it appeared even as fast as the youth was, he wasn't going to be fast enough to meet Rem as he finished charging his golden ray of death. Yet had anyone been close enough to observe as the golden beam of death ripped through Yume's body without any resistance, there was a blue ripple before said body simply disappeared being only an image... The original had managed to ascend above Rem, keeping out of sight and given the amount of energy Rem was generating into the space between his hands, he doubted his own energy signature would be detected. Gathering his own energy in an instant, he appeared a few feet above and behind Rem. "You missed." Rather than a close range attack, the youth pumped extra energy into his attack as he released a growing field of energy that instantly surrounded his body and stretched on for metres, incinerating everything within. There was a resounding boom as the edges of his shockwave rippled against the rising detonation of the Ion Beam that Rem had just fired. Hopefully, the Namekian had been caught between both explosions via being knocked down from his shockwave. He doubted there had been any way for Rem to emerge intact... "Or not," thought Yume, breathing heavily. Half of the reason being Rem's signature still existing despite the possible damages he had managed to inflict. The other half being that his body's energy levels were starting to drop massively. But he had to keep going. He'd already come this far after all... Feeling for Rem's energy level, his aura flared weakly before maintaining its glow. His finger tilted itself before releasing a sharp, glowing needle of light that shot deep into the rising columns of smoke. Yet this was only a distraction for the attack he MEANT to hit Rem with. Clenching his fist in front of his chest, his other hand gripped said arm at the wrist as there was a small flash of energy in the air just above his fist before disappearing. Yet Yume knew what was there. His pinnacle of ki manipulation, being able to condense energy to an atomic scale. Sweat dripped down from Yume's body, mixing with the rain as he felt his last dredges of energy begin to fade. Yet he knew that he had managed to get the majority of his energy where he needed it to be above his fist, despite there being no visible signs. He only knew it was there because he could sense it. This attack was designed to pierce on the molecular level. The edges of the attack circled around his fist, unseen to the naked eye as he waited for his attack to detonate. To any observer, he would just appear to be focused on his wrist, as though sorting out a crick. Yet anyone with the ability to sense ki would be able to feel the immense amount of energy gathered to such a point in front of his fist that they would question the youth's sanity. Sometimes Yume questioned his own sanity too. This would be it for him. He had almost nothing in the tank left. Already, he could feel his weak grip on his transformation slip even further away from him... "Now!" Yume felt his earlier attack vanish from either being negated or hitting their mark. The moment he did so he sifted through the air, a mere blur. Rather than attempt to strike at Rem from behind, he rather went in head-on. This was his last honest shot. If he didn't punch through whatever Rem had, he wouldn't win. Besides, as far as tactics went, he doubted Rem would expect an invisible, dense, drill of ki surrounding Yume's fist to punch through his chest in a straight on assault... A guttural roar left the youth's throat as his fist shot forward, for victory or death. ------------------------------------------------------- Actions: Free: Reserves (+20% ki) Free: DZ (6% ki) DZ1. I meant to get to this last night but we're busy as all hell with the Xmas season on its way, so I apologize for being late, for both of you. Yume has gained the RP award this time around. However. Even with the RP Award added in (I did the math, you can double-check it if you'd like to,) using that much ki is going to cause you to go over your maximum. However, since you had not included the ki cost into the technique, I'm assuming that you also didn't actually /use/ IT. So here are my rulings- With the loss of ki Yume should also have a loss of speed, and should have lost actions. However, given that I meant to post this last night and it should have gone to Yume, I'm going to give the award retro-actively, as far as this goes. His speed is enough to keep his 4th action, but not the 5th, due to stat loss. So I'm going to rule that the attack was uncharged and un-IT'd, but still fired. The attack is fired, but does not have IT attached, is uncharged, and is DR 5. Yume is, due to being out Stamina and Ki, pretty much at near-death. |

Okay, I'm posting this here just because you took it upon yourself to RULE this stuff. But I made an error in calculations, that's a mistake and I should be able to correct it if its invalid. You can't just rule my attack a failure. Also, HOW on Earth does still having half my power level mean I'm 'near-death'? Pretty sure Goku in canon has just not had enough energy to fire a Kamehameha and be nowhere near dead. |

The Namekian was tired of this shit. Yume had done exactly nothing to impress him this battle, excluding his ability to dodge. His power was mediocre, and even when he had been stronger than Rem, he'd been unable to capitalize. Now... his power was waning. But he refused to give up. From another warrior, that might have been commendable. But Yume had been outclassed from the start and was simply delaying the inevitable. Rem's power level rose as he finished firing the ion Beam. He was going to just overwhelm Yume with his power if nothing else. Sandbagging was just extending the fight. Below him, the city was burning from the Ion Blast... Much as it had that night so long ago... But yeah. Rem powered up to full, like a boss. And then turned as Yume yelled something or other at him. "Right." Rem said lazily, and erected a barrier. Rem was thrown back suddenly as some sort of shockwave slammed into him, destroying the barrier, and even slamming into his armored body. It had hurt, but the attack was well below his own power level at that point, so whatever. Looking down, Rem saw that his armor was fucked up, like seriously. "Going to need to get that fixed..." Rem pulled his staff from its scabbard once more, figuring it was time to just go ahead and bash Yume's face in. "Anyway... Are you done?" Rem asked, looking over at Yume. Just as he fired off another attack. Sighing, the Namekian spun the staff once, dissipating the attack before it got close to him. "NOW?" Rem asked. Yume was looking at his hand. What the fuck... "Hey, are we done here?" Rem asked. Still, Yume continued starring at his hand. "..." Then yume screamed and charged at him. Rem simply teleported to the side, and then slammed down with the staff towards the back of Yumes head. Momentarily, he did it again. And then again. Then for good measure, one last time.
will fuck with stats if this goes on for another round. |

It was then that an energy surge had tickled the ship's sensors and sent an alarm all throughout the Saiyan corridors! Broli looked around, waiting for the damn computer to tell him what the hell was going on...although the elite could feel a power emulating in the lands...the mightiest he had felt thus far on the planet. Could it have anything to do with this power... Broli thought to himself and was soon answered by the mundane voice overhead. "Lord Broli, it would appear a battle is taking place between a Namekian warrior and...a warrior who is in Justified Tyranicide’s data base, Yume Shizumu…I will pull up his file now from the database of the alliance and Saiyan Empire sire..." Broli tapped his fingers on the arm of his chair, where he sat at the helm and a few displays began to appear out of thin air. The portraying data was of a white haired boy and sapphire blue orbs to go along with the fare face. The elites emerald eyes flashed through the records....and it would seem this human had actually been closer than most to the former lt. marshall of the alliance. At least from the number of ‘missions’ and other off duty time the two had been involved in. "Well, let's have a look into this shall we? Take the ship to an altitude I can drop in from, if I am so needed...I wish to see what sort of trouble this human has gotten himself into...any friend of Justified Tyrannicide deserves our attention." Broli stated as he felt the warship begin to ascend into the warm skies and leave behind Roshi isle, heading toward the rising power's the sensors were continuing to read. "My Lord, do we have time to get involved...Toffit is in dire need of ou--" Vicki began to say before she was silence by two emerald orbs. Silence, until the ship reached a certain altitude and the computer had confirmed the area...bringing up the two warriors below locked in a fierce, and clearly outclassed, battle. Broli's eyes shifted from his pupil to the screens before him...The elite could feel the power that was shaking the ship outside, high above the city highline…”My my…that green slug seems to have quite the power eh? Well, I cannot sit idly by while a friend of our organization is fighting for his life. I shouldn’t be long. Keep the ship in orbit, Vicki…keep communications open, I may call for you yet. This one seems like quite the warrior.” Broli said in a low voice, rising to his feet and cracking both his knuckles and neck. It was then the ship had quaked, not from just the power coming from the two warriors…no it was an explosion and following such an explosion caused the Saiyan Warship’s alarms whale. Before that, Broli had shifted his gaze to the screen…it beginning to become fuzzy, and the two beams colliding with one another making such a powerful force…that it caused the ship’s defenses to become online and active. “Yeah, this is getting out of hand…no time to change clothes…Vicki, you are in command while I am gone.” The brute said as he took off running toward the emergency escape. “Computer, open the door!” the Saiyan Legend commanded. The silver door shot open, the elite warrior pushing off his back leg and began a free fall toward the two warriors below. His hood came free, letting his golden locks appear…his entire face now showing as his cloak began to flutter in his descent toward the mortals below. Broli appearing like an angel coming forth from the heavens to defeat the guise of evil. Although, even the elite had to admit he felt no sinister aura emulating below… As Broli had come into view, his eyes watched as the the Namekian withdrew his stick and Yume had charged him…”Well, fucking people and their god damn weapons…” Broli muttered as he accelerated to the full extent of his speed. He flew through like a rocket aimed for the Taliban…but even his awesome speed was not enough to stop the first stroke of the unknown warriors engraved battle stick! The elite finally reached his destination, and as the second blow was being initiated Broli appeared like a god of light behind Yume and thrust his bracers up to meet the threat. He could feel the weapon…and while his bracer attempted to hold its place, Broli contorted his body and thrust his body to the side, coming around toward the Green bean, countering the attack with two scissors kicks toward his newly found foe’s jaw. Broli had hoped the shot were so quickly done...and that his god-like strength would send the namekian hurtling through the air, to give the elite the time he needed… As Broli twisted around, he helped Yume stay in flight for a moment…his power was low…too low. Our hero reached under his ‘holy’ white cloak and into a bag sewn upon his waist. “Here, take this…it should help you.” Broli said as he quickly took out a senzu bean and attempted to place it into Yumes mouth, as if he were a toddler being spoon fed. "Swallow it down, I will deal with this bastard…” the elite said as he turned away from Yume and back toward the enemy of the moment. The Saiyan Legend was not much for talking to asshole’s who felt the need to beat things with their puny stick…The elite vanished from sight and began his attack as quickly as he could, now that he were closer to his enemy and was at a clear advantage of surprise. Broli’s emerald orbs flashed and the warrior took control of the heavens. Locking onto Rem, he began to bend the gravity of Earth to his will. Infusing the air around his foe with massive amounts of pull and push, the first portion of this gravity assault was his attempt at restricting this new adversary’s movement. The elite had the idea to wrap him up like a pig in a blanket, letting the winds lay flat and try to roll him up into an invisible concoction of gravity and pain. If that were successful, or not, Broli then moved his arms in front of his chest and had his two meaty palms begin to face one another. Without a word he quickly pushed his palms together and thus attempted to collapse two invisible walls together, hoping to crush him like trash in need of compression. Broli was simply trying to get rid of him in a bone-crushing type way. “I do not know what your quarrel is with this human, but he is a friend to my organization…and I cannot simply have you take out your stick and simply beat those who have good relations with us now can I? I saw you had the power and the knowledge to perform an attack I have most recently learned. So how about I show you what real power is, my putrid green friend.” The atmosphere began to shake, the clouds of dark grey rolling in behind our elite hero. Bolts of lightning coursed through the air as Broli’s own blood was circulating with excitement. The Saiyan legend added to the electric skies with his own emerald bands of electricity as he began to charge the newly learned technique Kami had taught him only days prior to this event. As it became complete, Broli gave his foe a wink and thrust his right palm forward unleashing a torrent of golden energy toward his enemy. The elite watched as his beam hurled through the heavens, like a bolt of lightning being attracted to a rod sticking out of the Earth. The plan was simple enough, to break his spirit before he could kill Justified Tyrannicide’s friend. As the energy had finally been expelled completely, Broli sat down into his infamous crush stance…his feet looking as though it were on solid ground and his fist balled and turning white…simply waiting for this new threat to come back from the dead with some miraculous escape. He would rival the infamous Harry Houdini if he could achieve such an accomplishment. For now, golden locks of hair blew in the storm that just began to brew and his cape was all around him like a hero standing on a mountain side, simply overlooking a city…The human’s below were probably running amuck and thought gods had shown up above their humble abode and were fighting an ancient and unknown war. OOC: I don't have a problem with your post, but apparently it's illegal for the next few hours so I might as well post. Yume dazedly registered a hand near his mouth, the owner of said hand’s voice dimly registering in his head.
”Keep whatever it is, I’ll be fine…” muttered Yume, rolling onto the mud with a squelch. He wasn’t sure how he’d ended up in this situation. The last thing he remembered was the Namekian nimbly avoiding his last shot before a crippling pain reverberated through his body as he tried to remember what had happened afterwards. All he could gather was that he’d been struck hard in the back of the head; hard enough to black out for a few seconds at the very least. The fact that he was still alive led Yume to assume that the figure who’s hand had been near his mouth was the one who had saved him. ”Definitely him,” thought Yume weakly, as his senses went on the fritz from being too close to the stranger’s flaring energy level. He dimly registered that he was no longer in his transformed state, probably having been knocked out of it by Rem’s blow as he dragged himself to his feet. Shockwaves of pure energy echoed through the air as the golden figure that Yume recognized as a Super Saiyan seemed to manipulate the air itself, the sudden violent forces of gravity ripples washing over the weakened human. Yet the youth only paid a scant amount of attention to the fight that continued in the skies above him. He’d failed to overcome the Namekian, his strength falling short in its attempt to achieve his task of reawakening Rem. The youth wondered if the rain that continued to pour down upon him was Kami’s cruel way of telling him he had failed. He’d lost. Despite everything, he’d still managed to lose… Just like he thought he would. His legs buckled before he slumped upon the muddy ground, the sticky substance chilling his legs as he flopped onto his back, giving the sky a one-fingered salute. The youth took the chance to breathe and rest for now, having lost the will to immediately jump back into the fight. It wasn’t like he had the vitality to survive anything the two champions above him were throwing at each other. That was where beings like Rem and the mysterious stranger belonged. In the open sky, titans clashing… Not like Yume though. He wasn’t a hero. He was just some guy. Yet despite this self-reflection, the white-haired warrior found he wasn’t bothered by it, now that he had the brief time to rest. Actions: Free. Revert? Free. Take Rem action 5. The Super Namek
|
OOC- Couple things. 1- Yume, you were attacked last round, and were attacked this round. That completely nullifies any resting, so you don't get the KI or any other benefits back. 2- Yume. You don't have the speed (i assume), or ki to instant transmit out of Broli's Ion Beam. Sorry bro, you're ally just killed you. A freight train from the heavens slammed into the Namekian a moment before he would have ended the battle; knocking Yume unconscious to fall limply to the ground below. Twin kicks struck him in the face with force that he was sure had cracked something in his jaw. Pain roiled through his head as he was sent hurtling away from the two warriors. His scouter warned him of a sudden surge of power behind him. That was enough to wake the Namekian from his disorientation. He had no idea who had hit him, but whoever it was was charging energy "HRA!" Rem shouted, throwing his arms out to the side and bringing himself to a stop. There was a mixture of pain, confusion, and wonder in his eyes as he turned his face up into the air, languidly flying back in the direction from which he had been hit. It was still dark, and rain was pouring down, so it was hard to see exactly who had attacked him. The Namekian squinted as he caught sight of a pair of huge, trunk like legs that connected to a barrel shaped body. This guy... was massive. Suddenly, the energy Rem had been scouting was around him. "WHAT?!" he shouted, as he began to feel energy pressing in to either side, trying to crush him. What... The hell... Was going on! Pain began to ripple through the Namekian's body, his bones began to grind against one another... And then... Lightning coursed through the sky like a forked tongue. It struck nowhere near the Namekian, but the jolt that went through him in the next instant was as powerful a force as that very lightning, at the least. The sky, the dark, heavy clouds around them, and the mountains that surrounded them in the far distance were all visible in that flickering instant. And with them... The Saiyans face. Like a bear trapped, a lion caged, the winds from an unbound tornado... The Namekian Roared. "MURDERER KYYYAAAAHHHHHH!!!" The restraints around the Namekian shattered, and for a moment longer he simply levitated there as his eyes attempted to readjust after the plunge back into darkness. It was him... the man who had killed Gohan. Rem had been searching for clues as to the whereabouts of their little Saiyan mascot for weeks. He thought he'd been on the right track when he'd fought a Saiyan in the Astral realm who'd claimed Gohan was dead. Days later, however, Gohan himself had managed to teleport himself from the afterlife to the very field where Rem had been training. They had battled, a link, focus for Gohan to anchor himself to for the short minute it had taken for him to explain what had happened. Rem still wasn't completely clear on the entire situation, but he knew this: A Saiyan Elite named Broli had come to Earth and had Killed Gohan. That was all he really needed to know. And now... the object of his desired vengeance stood before him, charging energy in his hand, preparing to attack the Namekian once more. "You..." Rem gasped, his body shaking with fury, with fear. He was going to kill this bastard... but his scouter was telling him it was going to be a tough job. "You... Fucking... Saiyan... FUCK!" The Namekian shouted, his voice projecting across the night sky. "HE WAS JUST A BOY!" He didn't even hear what Brolly was saying, didn't care. His words were filth. His soul was filth. An instant later energy began to rise, a yellow glow arising in Brolly's hand. Rem threw a barrier up around him, knowing he was going to need it. The power this guy had... It was almost enough to rival Sekt, or even Tapion. But Rem and Kular had managed to kill Sekt, and had fought Tapion to a stand still. Rem tapped his scouter once, thinking to call in Kular, to tell him that he had found the man responsible for the death of the youngest member of the Justice League. But... there was no answer, not even a signal. "Shit..." Rem whispered, and remembered that Kular had taken up Kami on his offer to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. That was the moment Rem realized... he was alone. Gohan was dead, Kular was in the HBTC. Sai... Rem dismissed the Saiyan immediately. Sai didn't have the power to compete at this level yet, he would simply get himself killed. There was nobody else... Tapion was halfway across the Galaxy, so that was a no go. Hell, if Rem had known where Kenpachi was at that moment he would have asked for HIS help even. The only other warrior Rem had known who might come to his aid... Was a man named Jordan, who had once showed the Namekian true power, and had said that he too defended the light. He'dhad been the Emerald Warrior's first inspiration, first desired stepping stone for his own successes. But... He had no idea where Jordan was, and wasn't sure the man would even remember him. "Shit..." Rem repeated, watching the scouter tick up, and up, and up with the power level of his opponents attack. "Wait... What is he... NO!" Rem screamed, and shot forward. He KNEW this attack. Hell, he'd already used it once already this day. It was the Ion Beam, and this guy was going to use it... Now? Rem's eyes shot towards Yume. He almost felt pity for what was about to happen. He had no love for the other warrior, but it had not been his desire to see him die this day. As he closed, Rem's left arm shot out. He went faster, faster. His mystic arm shot out of the barrier that protected his body, elongating, extending... getting closer... "Sometimes... I hate being green." Rem muttered. In the next instant Broli's hand shot forward and he released the massive attack. The problem with the Ion beam, you see... Is that it is fired like a beam, but explodes like a blast. Most beams incinerate and travel through an object, dissipating slowly naturally as they continue on their path. The Ion beam was an overcharged mess, without any of the neatness of a usual beams. Rem's hand, just a foot or so, opened wide as Broli fired, and Rem stopped moving forward hunching his shoulders and beginning to throw himself away, backwards. He winced, knowing what was about to happen before it even... And then it exploded. In an instant Rem's hand was completely consumed by the exploding, expanding plasmatic flames. Nothing was safe from an Ion beam- which was why Rem barely used the thing if he could get away with it. Luckily, the city beneath them was dead- having been wiped out months ago by a Demon. Rem didn't even struggle as the concussion wave struck him first, throwing him towards the ground below once more. He spun, the barrier lighting about him like a festive celebration, nearly blinding him within its protective coccoon. Rem was hunched, fetal position, knowing the chest of his armor was the weakest part at this point, letting his back take the brunt of the destructiveness that got through. And then he slammed through the top floors of a skyscraper, not even slowing as he blasted out the other side, rubble, concrete, and smoke trailing him. A moment later he barrelled through a burnt out apartment complex, its remaining charred structural supports collapsing behind him. More buildings, a bus... And then he struck the blackened asphalt of the road way, his body moving so fast he ripped it up like a plow through topsoil. Flames danced along the road with him, splashing like overflowing fountains across the city, burning away ground floor buildings, and toppling taller buildings as it steamed through like an avalanche of destructive power, with the Namekian at its head... At some point he stopped, groaning, tears leaking from his eyes at the pain of having lost an arm, and had his body thrown around like a ragdoll. "That... Kaff. KAff." Asbestos and aslphalt shot out of his lungs and throat, "That'll teach him.... To use that technique..." Rem coughed again before managing to choke out the last bit of the thought in a wheeze; "Against a Namekian Kaisen." Long moments passed as Rem simply lay there, looking up into the sky where the inferno was just then beginning to die away. He wondered if Yume had survived. He doubted it. Too bad, although at that moment Rem could feel nothing except the burning passion for vengeance within him, and the acute anguish of the damage to his body. Even with a shield, even through his armor, he had taken more damage than he'd have liked for an opening salvo. More damage than he'd taken the entire fight with Yume; although to be fair he had been fighting the other warrior at a much reduced power. He forced himself to stand then, not sure how damaged brolly would be from taking his own point blank Ion beam. He'd have been even closer to the attack, and wouldn't hadn't had the benefits of a barrier to protect himself. It probably hurt. Good. He had just begun to make this bastard hurt. Straining, he lifted one hand and quickly stabbed the staff he still, somehow, held onto into its sheath before opening his palm to the night sky above... and began to charge energy. "Better let the fuck know I aint dead..." Rem muttered, and shot out a navy burst of energy into the air. It traveled outside of the city perimeter a few dozen feet before exploding apart, blooming like a 5 sided flower petal, the beams heading in various directions of north, east, west, and south-separating before they would come back together and explode against any power levels they could seek out. "I hate to do this..." Rem muttered then, letting his solitary arm fall back to his side. "But... I can't hold back any more." Rem's hand moved across his waist and pulled the sword out of its makeshift hold, then placing the blade in his mouth, holding the weapon horizontal. He reached back and pulled forth the staff once more and began to concentrate. It only took a few seconds for the power of the Earth to summon his call. Droplets of ki energy began to rise from the ground as tiny, blue balls. They swirled about him, notably the sword, before attaching themselves to his body, covering him. More, more... Long seconds passed as he continued to concentrate, begging the ground, the sky, and even the insects about him for their precious energy. He needed it... He could no longer see, the blue orbs covered his face entirely, then his head. Down his neck, over his chest, and finally even his arm, shoulder, and legs they joined... With a final flash of brilliant light they all disappered, merging with him, becoming one, transferring their power to him. "Thank you." The Namekian whispered, and looked to his right. There, a brand new, unmarred arm resided-perfectly matching the one on his left that still grasped the staff. He smiled, knelt down to pat the ground once and said; "Seriously." He loved his homeworld, Earth- and it, apparently, would take care of him in return. He would have to dedicate a battle to its honor at some point in the near future- but not this one... THis one was for a 17 year old boy, who no longer breathed the effervescent, sweet air of this world. Rem placed the staff back into its back scabbard once more, took the sword from his mouth and shoved it home as well, looping a cord about its hilt to keep it in place, gathered his energy about him, and shot off into the night sky once more. "IT'S TIME TO PAY, BROLLY OF VEGETA! I AM REM, AND I SHALL BE YOUR FINAL OPPONENT!" He wasn't sure exactly how much the other had actually heard or understood as he charged into the air, closing with his foe... But he figured he'd get the message.
