After Rubic returned from the Next Dimension (and thoroughly and properly storing the portal device for later use and to prevent someone from being accidentally sucked into the Next Dimension like Rubic had been), the military android had requested a full external diagnostic and repair during his recharge cycle. Unlike the recharge cycles done at King Kai's, the one done at Earth Defense Forces Headquarters was by and large far more efficient and effective, as Rubic was directly connected to a quite potent power source. This resulted in the android only needing less than two hours to recharge his dwindling power reserves to maximum capacity, meaning Rubic could theoretically operate in the field for up to four continuous weeks. However, even during this recharge cycle--and thoroughly analyzing all of the combat data he had gained while in the Next Dimension--Rubic found himself with little to do while he waited. As such, Rubic pulled out the quite familiar form of a telepathic gem and synchronized his robotic brain's patterns with the crystal. Rubic's consciousness slowly ebbed and faded from his body and brought him to the ethereal plain, the familiar area where warriors from all over the galaxy could combat one another using such gems.

This time, Rubic found himself in a large cavern, likely an underground cave network underneath some vast planet. It was pitch black, requiring Rubic to activate his Sonar detection sensors and his shoulder flashlight, enhancing Rubic's thermal and night vision capabilities. Still, the conditions in the cave were rather sub-optimal for combat, but perhaps that was the reason why Rubic was brought to such a locale, to further test his abilities.

With that in mind, Rubic proceeded through the caves looking for his next opponent...

The warrior grunted as he looked around, not entirely sure where he was as he couldn't even really see his hand in front of his face. He'd had the brilliant idea to go and do a fight with that gem thing that he carried around, but he had been expecting to be sent to the fighter's guild, where he normally went. However, as soon as he opened his eyes, he was somewhere that he hadn't ever been in before. At least, that was his guess; he couldn't see a damn thing in here. He gave a low growl, before he began to raise his power level, and then explode it outwards as his Kaioken took over.

A deep, red light began to emanate from him, and even as he did so, he noted a light in the darkness, and moved towards it. “Hey!” he called out, moving towards the light, wondering if this was his opponent for this particular round. “Who's out there?” he asked, the man frowning as he tried to make out whoever was there. His aura gave him maybe five feet of sight around him, aside from that light that was shining in the darkness. He didn't know if he needed to or even wanted to shout again, not sure if he wanted to draw more attention to himself. “This is what I'm saying, though,” he growled as he moved forward, towards the light. “If I could shoot ki...I'd just blast the bastard.”

Rubic halted his advance as soon as he picked up a sound on his sensors. Unlike organics, which just heard the sound, Rubic's sensors saw each and every surface that the sound bounced off of, using those impacts to triangulate the position of his target. With his opponent now known--for the most part, voice recognition was still processing--Rubic switched off his shoulder flashlight and proceeded forward, thermal scans lighting up with a signature further ahead--his target. Rather than progress immediately forward, however, Rubic proceeded towards a side tunnel, his sonar sensors still giving Rubic an idea of the physical layout of the area, since his regular vision was rendered useless by the darkness.

The android then activated stealth mode, his moving gears and components suddenly silencing their usual noises. Surprisingly enough, Rubic could be quite silent when he needed to be--such as in this case--but unlike some RBC model androids, he did not possess active camoflage, which could render the user completely invisible to regular human vision. Still, with the darkness the way it was, Rubic was likely quite unseen by his opponent--at least, as far as the android was concerned. Whether or not his opponent had advanced visual or detection methods was still an unknown factor. All the same, however, Rubic decided the stealth approach to closing with his opponent...

Suddenly, that light shut off without warning, and Kularian gave a low hiss, knowing that he wasn't able to get that vision back. He'd stared directly into the light itself, which kept him from being able to see, now. The darkness was now even more absolute than it had been moments ago, which caused him to groan under his breath. He wasn't scared of the dark, hell, he wasn't scared of anything, as far as he knew, but it made life difficult sometimes. Briefly, the warrior pondered simply breaking through the roof above, but then again, he had no idea what was going to be beyond. For all he knew, they were directly under a molten pit of lava.

So Kularian did the only thing that he could do- he made his own light. Adel had recently taught him how to modify his aura so that it was more brilliant and impressive than anything he had mustered before. And in that, Kularian wanted to let his aura grow to be the biggest it had ever been. He gave a roar as his power extended outward, and he felt the power rushing out of him, the aura, a bright red, showing everything to him in a wide radius, extending outwards around him, giving him a good thirty feet of vision around him. “Shit, that's still not as good as I'd like it to be... but I don't really have much choice,” he growled under his breath, before he flared his aura out more.

Suddenly, Rubic's built-in scouter beeped to life, indicating his opponent's growing power level. Why his opponent was using that much power while not engaged yet escaped the android for the moment, aside from his opponent merely preparing for the inevitable attack. Regardless, Rubic continued to sneak his way through the various caverns in the area, his sonar still emitting enough sound to allow Rubic to see what the cavern walls looked like. Eventually, Rubic found another side cavern that led to the source of the earlier sounds that Rubic had heard and he pursued it. Eventually, Rubic's own visual sensor picked up on the aura his opponent was pushing out, a sure sign of his opponent's power since he was bleeding that much ki from his body to make it. Still, Rubic closed in closer, as quietly as the military android could, before rushing towards his opponent and lashing out with a blast of ki. It was not until Rubic attacked that he saw who his opponent really was. By that time, it was too late to actually retract the blow.

Kularian continued to move about in the nigh-darkness, having only his Kaio Ken enhanced aura to shed light around him. It wasn't a lot of light, to be sure, but it was enough to at least allow him to see where he was going. He moved slowly, deliberately, as he held his awareness around him, trying to make sure that he wasn't about to get jumped by anyone or anything. He didn't hear anything, and that made it worse, as he didn't even know if he was alone down here. He had the idea to simply release the hold that the telepathy gem was having on him and go back to what he was doing.

However, then he felt something approaching him, and he didn't hesitate as he turned, letting the full power of his Kaioken flare outward as he turned around, and extended a fist into a vicious punch. However, it was about that time that he saw the approaching fighter was the robot, Rubic. He'd sparred with him once Roshi's island, and then once again after that, but this was one person he definitely didn't expect. His fist was already traveling though, and the warrior was too busy trying to realize and rationalize what Rubic was doing here, rather than trying to stop his own attack. The first crashed through the ki blast, turning it to nothing as his hand continued forward, and slammed directly into Rubic's center, with all the force that Kularian could muster in his base form.

Which was, by some estimates, a metric fuckton.

Everything was going according to plan. Even as his opponent turned around, Rubic saw his energy blast soaring towards his opponent with great speed. The impact would surely knock his opponent back, allowing Rubic to gain the advantage in offense and initiative. The blast itself was powerful enough to--

Then Kular punched through the energy blast, which was significantly not what Rubic was expecting. Then Kular's punch slammed into Rubic's body before the android could react, sending the android flying down the cave corridor with impressive force. When Rubic hit the wall on the opposite side, he left a significant crater that marked his impact against the wall. Damage reports scrolled over Rubic’s vision as the android tried to get a readout of the various component’s that Kularian had damaged with his single punch. Even then, the results were not comforting in the least. It was by some miracle of design that Kularian had not punched clean through the android with his attack, the force measuring somewhere in the several dozen tons.

The android managed to pry himself from the wall and charged forward, loosing a series of energy blasts towards his opponent--a sure sign of the Energy Dans technique--before Rubic closed into melee with his opponent. However, even as Rubic lashed out with another series of melee attacks against his opponent, Rubic’s scouter was reaching higher and higher to properly gauge Kularian’s impressive power level and combat capabilities. Rubic had never seen Kularian powered up to this scale before—even when they had been in that wolf infested forest situation—and now, Rubic was gathering even more data on this fight. It was highly probable, however, that Kularian was simply TOO strong for the synthetic life form to even gauge, as Kularian seemed to have attained a power level high above anything else Rubic had ever encountered…

Kularian frowned as he watched the metallic creature fly back away from him. He really hadn't meant to do that much damage to him. He had expected to be something... well, he didn't know really, but the creature had tasted the full strength of his might in his base form, which was considerable. He hadn't, thankfully, ascended to his wolven form or worse, his newly developed Kaio Ken times twenty technique, which would have likely reduced Rubic to scrap in that single punch. However, even with that damage being done to him, Rubic seemed more than willing to continue the fight as an array of attacks came at him, and the warrior growled to himself as they approached.

“Rubic... I was gonna let you walk away, but if you want more, I'll give you more!” he roared out as his arms began to move then, in a unique pattern that he'd learned from Roshi that, for a short period of time, vastly increased the speed of your arms and there temporarily appeared to be eight fists hovering around Kular's frame as he deflected the various energy attacks away from himself, before Rubic closed to melee range. Kularian had given the android a chance to call it quits, but as he insisted on fighting, Kularian growled as he avoided the attack altogether, stepping far into Rubic's guard and then out as he slid to the android's left... and let his fists fly...
