In a city Au du Venice style, Jared found himself. He strolled along the fancy street as he pleased, admiring the scenery. Strangely enough Jared couldn't see anyone around. Perhaps it was the quiet end of the city. "This city reminds me of someplace that probably exists but I've never been to," he said. Beside him again was Freed, analyzing the surroundings as he usually did. He queried to Jared in that moment though. If you've never been to it, how does this remind you of it? "Do you always question everything that's said?" Only when I don't understand it. Hopeless. Freed was hopeless. It seemed the only time this spirit was tolerable was in times of danger. Jared decided not to feed the fire any more gas and continued along the path that was the brick paved streets. Jared had his father's spirit of adventure in him. It was a shame his father wasn't here to see this. Still Jared couldn't help but enjoy himself, even if this was just his own mind projecting. Words: 175 |

Reptilian eyes gazed upon a illustrious cityscape laid out before him. It was a fantastic view to say the least. The works of man saw no boundaries it seemed. It was the work of man that allowed this very being to exist. For that, the creature needed to be grateful. Even so, it was not possible to ignore the nature that was himself. The cityscape had only allowed him to forget his hunger for but a moment. It was time for the being to go on the hunt once more. Ever hopeful for satisfaction, the creature left the view to be gazed upon by someone else and continued to move about, crossing the rooftops as he saw fit. A power recognized by the creature was in the vicinity. That boy again. How was it they were constantly crossing paths? He still remained clueless to who the boy actually was. Today would be the day to learn of his identity, even if at the cost of revealing his own. He must learn who this boy was. Now was the chance. Speed at maximum, he hurried along to meet him. Stealth had failed Cell twice before. This time he'd meet the boy head on. The creature was hungry for both knowledge and power. Never mind the fact that 'Knowledge equals Power'. Soon he was visible to the creature's eyes. His anxiety crept up on him, knowing what the lad was capable of. But if there were a chance to rise up and meet it at any point in time, Cell couldn't hesitate to jump at it. From the top of the nearest roof, the creature dropped down to the street. Soon he placed himself in front of the boy's view and simply stood there. Yes, he was just there. No hiding, his power at resting point and ready to be used at a moment's notice. The city streets were empty. Good! He could focus all his attention on the boy before him. The cards would be all laid out soon enough. "Again we meet! But this time I'll learn about you. Clearly you are a human boy! But there's something different about you. I demand that you tell me who you are and what allows you to possess such power," the creature spat out. There you had it. Right then and there, the creature queried about the boy. But how would he answer back? WC: 402 |

Jared was surprised by the creature's sudden appearance. Just like that in the middle of the street the thing presented itself. Freed immediately grew cautious. However Jared merely stared forward with a grin. The creature looked frustrated. "Again we meet! But this time I'll learn about you. Clearly you are a human boy! But there's something different about you. I demand that you tell me who you are and what allows you to possess such power," the creature spat out. Jared's disposition remained calm as he stared at the creature. To think it would just come out and start asking questions. Jared closed his eyes and broadened his smirk as he started walking forward. Freed was alarmed. Jared, what are you doing? Jared ignored the spirit for now. His focus was on the creature before him. Slowly he closed the distance until he was within the creature's arm reach. Jared's resolve was in rare form here. He looked the creature in the eyes, fearless. He could tell the creature wasn't about to attack just yet. But it didn't stop him from thinking about it. "Fine, I'll tell you," Jared deepened his voice a bit. The moment he spoke, Jared's body began to be veiled in an ocean blue aura. His eyes glowed the same color. The aura rippled like the surface of the ocean as it surrounded him. Jared looked up at the creature's eyes again, having taken his sight off of them to view its tail. "I am Jared. A fighter from Earth. It is my training that has allowed me power. Something you seem to lack. I don't know what kind of creature you are. But now is the time to find out. Why don't you go ahead and tell me who it is you are; that is if you're not scared right now to speak." Jared didn't know what the creature was likely to do with Jared's reply. But his aura present was a sign that attacking was probably a bad idea. Words: 335 / 510 |

Cell's question to the boy seemed to ignite his energy in a benevolent aura of aqua colored energy. The creature held his position as the boy began walking toward him fearlessly. For the first time, he could sense a depth in the boy's power that he hadn't before. It was awe-inspiring. "I am Jared. A fighter from Earth. It is my training that has allowed me power. Something you seem to lack. I don't know what kind of creature you are. But now is the time to find out. Why don't you go ahead and tell me who it is you are; that is if you're not scared right now to speak." His intimidation factor was strong. A mere boy being able to face the creature eye to eye seemed really unspeakable. Yet here they were in the middle of this dream-cast city. And now Cell new who the boy was. Jared. Simple name and it was now committed to memory. The rest would see itself through. "I am called Cell. The rest, you'll have to find out for yourself." The answer obtained was enough. Now it was time for the combat. His threatening aura wouldn't ward the creature off from attack. Cell raised the right hand and claw formed it. Sharply the creature thrust it down at the boy's head attempting to force him to face plant. Then the tail came thrusting over the creature's head to make the stab at his body. Staying close, Cell attempted to boot the boy into the air at the stomach. Begin the hunt! WC: 663 |

Jared’s brows sunk when the creature spoke back to him. "I am called Cell. The rest, you'll have to find out for yourself." Jared’s brows perked upward as the creature raised a hand. Jared crouched slightly as Cell did so. When the creature thrust the hand down at him, Jared jumped back. The creature’s tail tip came extending in his direction. Jared shifted to the side of the tail and attempted to rush forward. That’s when he caught a kick to the stomach. He went sailing into the air like this, his hands clutching his stomach. He stopped himself several feet in the air. “Ok, is it me or did that thing get stronger?” Jared asked. Jared, I sense a change in the creature’s strength from last time. It is stronger. said Freed as he appeared beside Jared. Jared rubbed his stomach and floated in the air above his opponent. He kind of chuckled and nodded his head. Smiling at Freed he then looked down at the eagerly waiting creature below. “Awesome.” Jared dropped down out of the sky, doing a tumble once before landing on the ground several feet away from the creature. He stood up. “It wouldn’t be worth putting in effort if he didn’t at least get stronger. So, Cell! I’ll have you tell me everything else after I beat you!” What are you going to do? asked Freed. “I’ll show you!” Jared had a grin on his face. Cell eh? Hmph, I’m gonna bury you with my Super Gokou Jr. tactics! Jared thought. “HAH! Super Gokou Jr. Tornado Assault!” There was a sharp sound, the kind heard as a result of something taking off at sharp speed. This was Jared’s doing. Jared had a trailing blue and yellow blur behind him as he shot off at heightened speeds. Getting to Cell the boy ran circles around the creature, literally, trying to follow through on the ‘tornado’ part of his assault. As he moved, Jared’s arms wound themselves up and down to the point he appeared to have eight limbs. Jared’s hands shot out like bullets attempting to peck at the creature’s body repeatedly at sharp speeds, thereby picking up on the ‘assault’ portion of his attack. They were coordinated strikes shot out to catch the creature’s face, chest, back and torso as he circled about the creature until he saw fit to lunge. He jumped at the creature’s back and forced a heavy elbow strike at the back of the head, followed by a fist drop aimed at the shoulder and a shifted knee strike forward at the center of the spine. The creature had a grin upon his face after sending Jared flying up into the air with his kick. But it quickly faded when the boy’s altitude gain took a halt. Cell stood poised for defense at that moment, but the boy seemed to hang there and rub his torso. It apparently hurt a little. In a few moments he’d feel more pain; were the creature’s thoughts as he stared at the boy. Once again the boy seemed to be uttering nonsense to himself. What perplexed Cell so was that Jared seemed to be in conversation with someone else. His senses didn’t pick up a second life form near him. So what was the deal? This ‘Jared’ is intriguing. I wonder who it is he’s talking to? Data indicates most children lose their imaginary friends in pre-adolescence. But he seems to be talking to someone that I cannot sense. Suddenly Jared was looking down at Cell, causing the creature to reinforce his defensive posture. Jared dropped down out of the sky, doing a tumble once before landing on the ground several feet away from the creature. He stood up. “It wouldn’t be worth putting in effort if he didn’t at least get stronger. So, Cell! I’ll have you tell me everything else after I beat you!” “Try it!” dared the creature. He watched as the quirky boy took his stance and prepared to move. Suddenly after that, Cell got to hear the boy utter the most peculiar technique, he’d ever heard. “HAH! Super Gokou Jr. Tornado Assault!” “Wha-?” The boy took off in a burst of speed toward Cell. Cell barely had time to follow him. In a heartbeat, the boy took to running circles around the creature, stirring up a circling wind. That’s when the boy released his fury in a serious of sharply quick strikes each pecking at Cell’s body, jerking the creature around. As a result, Cell was unable to pinpoint Jared until it was too late. The creature felt the sharp merciless blow of an elbow at the back of the head. It sent the creature fumbling forward. Then Jared’s fist struck him again, planting him in the dirt. Jared had then managed to plant the next big attack on the creature right after that. It was pointless at this juncture. Even with the creature’s increased strength, Cell was still having a hard time keeping pace. Escape was the best option. As the creature rolled himself over, he was starting to fade. He got a look at the boy. “This is not over…” He said this and vanished. WC: 432 / 1,095 |
