[Battle Recorder]

The skies above the icy tundra of northern Frieza were alight with a display of celestial pyrotechnics as His Exalted Highness prepared for battle. To the working class clustered in the few degrees of relative greenery, the display would be an impressive example of nature’s fury but the changeling King saw it as so much more. His sight allowed him to view the reactions as they happened; the charge building in the atmosphere within the thunderhead until it reached capacity and arced towards the nearest charging thunderhead on onwards in an explosion of energy that would be mirrored below as Zero of Clan Celsius challenged King Cold of Cold Clan.

Driving sheets of rain and sleet pounded the duo as they stood opposing. Around them, towering mountains of ice and stone stood as silent witnesses of the battle to come. There was nary a tree to be seen, with hundreds of kilometres of ice surrounding scene broken up only by mountains that had stood for time immemorial.

But now was not the time to examine the scenery. Now was the time to paint the snow purple with the blood of Clan Celsius once more. The King of the Changelings relaxed into his fighting stance, dispelling everything from his mind except the last son of the Celsius Clan. The stance carried on for a time, stretching the moment out as the winds whistled through the craggy peaks above and tore at the flesh of the changelings who stood unmoving. At last, a whisper of qi energy tore through the area; then another. When the qi inferno erupted from the Changeling King, it was a deep indigo at its core instead of white and changed in hue to pink as it dissipated in the stormy air. Lightning crashed overhead, the purple-hued bolt dancing between the vortex of swirling energy that had engulfed the changeling king and the clouds above. Throughout the vortex, smaller jolts of pink lightning arced between rolling streams of qi energy.

As the vortex dissipated to reveal the fully powered Changeling King, steam from the snow around them rose into the air and obscured much of the king in its depths. His Exalted Highness was ready for the challenger.

Show me your power, outcast...

This was it.

All of Zero’s preparations over the past few weeks, the angry power that had been growing in his stomach, and the expectations of Celsius’ heir all culminated today in this tempest dual. Icer herself assaulted them with shards of ice and bathed them in a mother’s tears. The storm gave shape to the tension and gravity of this affair. Staring at the Emperor of Cowards reawakened the fiery sting of wounded honor in his chest; the exiled changeling could hear his family, left to unfair death by the necessity of Zero’s survival. Those screams would not haunt his memory in vain. A rumbling began in his gut as he felt the painful vortex of energy that rested there. The patriarch’s mark, midnight ki that marked the heir of Celsius, erupted against his will.

King Cold, your family’s crimes against the House of Celsius are unforgivable! This is for my brothers, Toxin and Nega, my mother, Perma, and my father, Glacial… The scorned prince summoned the entirety of his energy, And most of all, Cold, for the mighty Patriarch, Lord Celsius himself! I am his channel this day; his vengeance comes through me! Zero’s aura burst at its height, sending out a limited radius of black electricity as it stabilized. The music of his ki was that of static, the manifestation of anger in response to generations of sleights and shaming. A single bolt of lightning struck the aura, bending around it and adding a blue tint to Zero’s darkness.

Now the ostracized changeling had a promise to keep. Lifting himself from the ground, he propelled himself beyond his typical limitations. The determined traitor to the throne put everything he had into his knee, unleashing a roar in mental simulation of focusing his strength. King Cold would know the stab of shame this day.

Crimes? I think not…

The bleeding heart society generally liked to change things about the world around them whenever things became too brutal or two unfair and as the founding members of the society, the House of Celsius was certainly no different. Cold could still remember the jeers as Celsius himself turned his once noble house into the laughing stock of the entire warrior caste. It was a good time for the House of Cold, who lived up to their credo on that day.

Winter Is Here. Only The Strong Survive…

Seemingly done with his irrational emotional outburst, Zero attacked quickly and ferociously. The outcast with a chip on his shoulder fought against the very elements themselves as he was engulfed in a fiery qi aura and blasted through the storm heralded by a single bolt of blue lightning that was his only supporter in this inhospitable environment. Were he capable of empathy, Cold might have felt sorry for the boy as his lifelong quest for revenge reached its inevitable and pointless conclusion.

The Changeling King slid to the side at the last moment, freeing his staff in order to deliver a crippling counterattack that was aimed at the back of the outcast’s neck with the purpose of driving him face first into the ice where he belonged.

Is that it?

His Exalted Highness wanted a challenge and thus far it appeared that all of Zero’s effort and all of his emotional turmoil had amounted to even less than his namesake. There seemed to be little for it but to end the pipsqueak and returned to the Devestator. But as he readied the killing blow, something stayed Cold’s hand. There was a far greater potential for evil here; the Celsius Clan was dead and gone, but he could deliver one final crushing blow to their reputation by making the last son of the House bend his knee and serve the king who deposed his family.

But in order to do that, he needed to beat the stuffing and the will from the plucky outcast who had spent his life in the frozen wastes. For this, he had his trusty staff and a hell of a lot of qi energy. Brandishing the staff, Cold shortened it so that it was roughly the length of a katana and wielded it like a sword. He flourished the weapon, spinning it in several arcs around his body like one of the monk practitioners of swordplay. He increased his speed to the point where his movements would be but a blur before stepping closer to the outcast, murder in his eyes.

During two of the arcs, he lashed out quickly towards his foe and attempted to rap him once on each cheekbone. Without missing a beat, Cold returned to his arrogant grandstanding as he circled the changeling, the stave flourishing resolutely on around his body. As he passed the boy’s left hand side, Cold lashed out again with twin strikes towards the kid’s kidney and neck, respectively. Still he circled and mocked his prey with the skills of a monarch that had been honed in Death Squad and perfected in the comfort of the palace that had formerly belonged to the House of Celsius.

When he arrived back at the front of the oxygen thief of a changeling, Cold lashed out again. These strikes were less precise than those previous and more brutal. They were aimed at the centre of the changeling’s mass and were followed up by a straight kick straight at the kid’s face that was punctuated by an attempt to dig his claws into the shamed changeling’s flesh.

Such insolence! King Cold’s taciturn denial was too much to bear. The emperor’s sick disinterest and neglect of the changeling’s words made the under-lizard’s ki flare up in demonic revolution; the acute hatred Zero called focus sparked a vitriolic response to the storm. Another bolt of lightning struck him in his approach, causing his brow to wince from an ache. His terrible, sadomasochist mind took it as a boost, only causing him to divert more focus into the strength of the attack.

The shadow of his own energy and motivation cloaked his typically calm, calculating mind. Every ounce of focus and passion was behind this attack; it blinded him from the many directions his opponent could take with this move. The final burst of arrogant ecstasy made him blind to all but his target. Zero was too fast in his course, too certain of connection; lost in his own still life, he could not perceive Cold’s sudden motion. The Friezan Emperor took one fluid motion against him. The infuriated alien watched him step out of the way, then suddenly,

WHAP!

An overwhelming pain in his neck and face blinded him in the heat of injury. The changeling was certain his nose was broken, blood fell from his lip and his teeth were quite sore as though they had been cracked. Roaring to hide the pain of meal of tundra, he made yet another promise to his conqueror by lifting his stunned form to face him. The infamous ruler of the Planet Trade Organization had revealed a staff about the size of a long sword, and was wielding it as such. The Prince of the Wasteland had not noticed Cold’s meaningful mercy, but had come back in time for his opponent’s full turn.

The Dread Emperor began to move the staff in a vortex that crossed over and cycled between both sides of his body. The technique began at a steady pace, but quickly increased far beyond Zero’s capacity to follow. There was little he could do for the oncoming attack, so the disadvantaged Heir of Celsius simply shifted his feet into a horse stance and, finding firmer foundation in the fortified squat, braced for impact. The warrior barely got his spiked arms up in time, trying to cover as much of his torso as he could.

The first two strikes, meant for his cheeks, instead nicked each wrist thrown up in hasty guard. Lord Zero clenched his fists and teeth at the aggressive, smarting attack, but managed to keep his shaky ground (if nothing else), as the next attack came on.

There was not even an opportunity to shift his posture; King Cold continued his deadly cakewalk around the inciting rebel with murderous intent. The neck and kidney combo found its mark, but the impact lent him the momentum he needed to face Cold in defense once more. He raised each hand in turn to halt the two swings at his middle, his left side seriously feeling the pressure of injury against his ribcage, impacted by the tenacity of the kidney-shot. His ancient foe was absolutely incredible; Zero had never fought an alien, or machine, with this much power before. A vision of his fate made him realize that this might be the last pitiful stab dealt in age old feud and intrigue coup. He had not been ready; his preparation stolen by premature communion with his foe. The struggle had been initiated long before its time, thanks to his Emperor’s discovering the secret, glacial cave which Zero called home.

I will not die on my knees, Patriarch. Give me courage. The thought was a prayer and a promise to himself. Regardless of this squalor’s outcome, he would die before he would beg. That was non-negotiable to his family’s endangered honor. His patriarch would not know shame from the heir his own powerful blood had appointed. I will remember our pride, Father Celsius.

These thoughts occurred in the seconds between the stave strikes and King Cold’s sudden melee, in the form of dexterous foot which broke his guard and met his chin, laying him down on the ice once more. Seeing Cold’s foot above his sprawled form, he pushed himself to roll to the left before the foot could crush him. Now face-down on the ice once more, his eyes went to observe the eternal, snowy mirror beneath him. The dagger-like sleet exacerbated every ache whilst drops of rain cooled him, creating an altogether uncomfortable and torturous antipathy of brain signals.

This ice could be my grave…

The foreboding notion revived him, giving him the strength to find footing once more. Though he felt the aura waning, there was still fight left in the young, displaced noble. Cold would have to squeeze every ounce of life from him before the Ice King claimed Zero’s termination. In a scramble for morale, he recalled his father’s fearless rushing of King Cold’s palace. The maddened court lord of Frieza had given everything he had without offer of surrender or beg for mercy. The man had been cut down a hero, however foolish his reasoning might have been. Suddenly his father’s own words, before anger and madness had taken him, echoed in the youngling’s mind.

No limits. No Compromises.

I understand, father. Raising his blood-gemmed gaze, he addressed his executioner without fear.

In your cowardly comforts you have become complacent, my “Lord” Cold. The tone was gruff, yet another attempt to mask the swelling and aching of his muscles against his massive, ice-blooded opponent, While I have been tirelessly training, nurturing both my destiny and my will. It will fuel me through your dispassionate attacks. The ostracized Son of Celsius managed to hide the excruciating injury Cold had inflicted within the shell of vocal ferocity. The shamed-again changeling stood in bluffing solidarity against his foe, though unable to make another move without another moment to breathe.

Cold gave an exaggerated yawn, holding his hand up and mimicking the talkiness that he saw in the smaller, weaker changeling outcast. If there was anything wrong with the way members of his race conducted themselves in battle, this incessant talking was it. Though Alice was an alien, she understood the value in the things that were left unsaid and was in fact a good example of what a changeling should aspire to. Plucky courage was less than worthless when you were outclassed and being pounded into mincemeat. It just made a person look like a human.

His face split in a snarl of contempt, King Cold blurred into thin air from the perspective of the untrained. Somebody with exceptional senses may have detected that he was heading towards the injured changeling that was trying to fight him, but they would be few and far between. He brandished his weapon again and aimed to belt the whelp in the tendons behind each knee in a move that would make him kneel if it connected.

The changeling king returned to the front of his quarry and began to pace back and forth, drawing out the inevitable for as long as possible in order to rub in exactly how untenable Zero’s position was. Such was important in breaking a person’s spirit. Hope was a dangerous construct and had to be stamped out at all costs in these situations. Abruptly and without the slightest hint of warning, the King crossed the distance between himself and the outcast. He held the power pole point first barely inches from the throat of the only other being for a hundred miles. For good measure, Cold feinted a punch with the fist holding the end of the power pole but stopped mere centimetres from the face of his hapless opponent.

From here he rocked back and used his tail to prop himself up while he sat cross-legged in midair.

“Zero,” he began, “Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero.”

To punctuate the point, Cold sprang off his tail and swung a roundhouse kick at the smaller changeling’s jaw. As soon as the attack was done, he returned to his position of apparent meditation while propped up by his tail.

“Zero,” he began again, “Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero.”

Just as he had done previously, Cold did again. This time he used his left foot to aim another roundhouse kick at the other side of the outcast’s head. Thus it would continue until his quarry was well and truly broken, though the King of Changelings was much more creative than one who would just use his feet.

“Zero,” he began a third time, “Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero.”

This time, Cold didn’t move from his sitting position. What he did do was mutter, “extend”, to his power pole while it was pointed towards the face of the outcast. Even Chaos, the mightiest warrior in all existence, couldn’t dodge this attack. After the culmination of this latest attack, Cold paused to survey the scene in front of him. There was much, much more that he could do to this being, but wasn’t sure if he was willing to risk overkill just yet.

It was then that a diabolical thought occurred to him. Ice really didn’t like being superheated and as such would probably react badly to the sudden appearance of fire. With that in mind, Cold began to focus his energy internally as his eyes glowed with power and heralded what was about to come. As soon as sufficient energy was gathered, Cold burped a cloud of smoke before taking a deep breath and blowing an extra-strength blast of fire straight at the outcast’s feet. In the best case scenario, the whelp would be broiled alive while the Changeling King watched.

Zero could not spare the energy to give much thought to Cold’s mockery. His reptilian body was heavy with soreness; the Ice Prince had never taken such a brutal beating from a foe before. His breaths were heaving, his strength waning. Even the anger which fueled his meager retaliation was failing him; the end was imminent. The lesser changeling would still hold fast to his honor and promise, though he was now almost thankful that the time for noble vow was ticking away with the waning storm.

His opponent seemed to disappear as he boosted his already superior speed once more; he could not have seen the hulking violet warrior appear behind him with pole poised for strike once more. Two searing pains crippled his carefully balanced stance. The outcast found himself on his knees, head hung low. If the patriarch could see him now, genuflecting at his superior’s three-pronged feet. Swelling his chest with the strength he could gather from Icer’s cold air, the rebel lord tilted his head upwards once more. It took a marked amount of energy to disguise his wince as a glare in contempt of his opponent’s beating.

His poker face was broken, however, by the two feigned attacks. Zero’s painful weakness turned to a shudder as the King bridged the distance between them. The humiliated exile craned his neck, releasing a groan at the suspense of the hovering weapon. The scene adjusted in rapid blink, the King’s fist now haunting the space between his eyes and nose. The failure firstborn lost the fierceness of his gaze, clenching one of his eyes shut. The master changeling was toying with him, drawing out every ounce of weakness for the frozen face of Icer to judge.

Quite amused with his own doings, Cold tilted back upon his tail, performing a balancing act for his victim. The mantra of his name rang between his ears, perceived more as a power rating than the given name of the once-honored heir of Celsius. Zero heaved another breath, anticipating another assault from Cold; there was struggle left in the patriarch’s blood yet.

The changeling monarch flinched as he began his move and all the banished prince could do was throw his arms straight up to guard either side of his head. The first roundhouse made contact with his block, eliciting another strained moan from the body it impacted. The condescending repetition began again, creating a wound in his chest deeper than any blow his inquisitor could land. The second roundhouse found mark on the opposite side; the pain in Zero’s exhausted arms magnified tenfold.

A third time King Cold’s voice tolled, deafening the literal Zero to the command directed to the behemoth’s magical pole. It sprung forward suddenly, hitting the under-lizard squarely in the forehead, causing his back to go almost parallel to the icy battleground beneath them. The challenger had to silence all of his survival instincts to bend his form to a more correct positioning, where he saw Cold begin a familiar technique. Zero had seen his underling use it many times before in their endeavors, though the kneeling traitor to the throne was quite aware of the implications of such an attack fueled by Cold’s massive power. Now was the time to access the lingering reserves of his power, or be turned to broiled shrimp in the wake of this blast.

The battered alien was forced to vocalize his power up to achieve it.

NO! The voice was uncharacteristic of a mortally wounded warrior and was drawn, perhaps, from the very energy which aided his speed. Thankfully, Cold’s attack was not meant for a head on assault, and the changeling managed to find his own blurring speed to return himself to his feet just outside of the inferno’s radius.

Knowing that this would perhaps be his only chance for an attack, the changeling forced his hand to raise and point at the ruthless emperor. He sought the waning darkness at his core for the energy to fuel what might very well serve as his final offense. The beam fired off through the ice king’s flames, intent on its target.

When are we eating?
Ayakon stood on King Kai's planet, silently meditating. After a moment he could no longer handle the unrest, he opened his eyes and said, "I feel as though I'm missing something."

"Being on this planet can make you a little more sensitive to unrest in the universe. I think I've located the source of the problem. Come here." Ayakon placed his hand on the master's back. It was there that he saw the brutal beating that a small Changeling was receiving from the King of Changelings, King Cold. "His name is Zero, from the Celsius clan. It looks as though he'll die in this battle without help."

Ayakon looked around and said, "Send me back, please! I have to help him!" He couldn't let another clan fall prey to the Cold clan like his family had. King Kai nodded and muttered a few words, reversing the spell that'd brought Ayakon to the Next Dimension in the first place. And in an instant Ayakon was back on his ship orbiting Kelioux.

There was no time. Though the Changeling needed to go to a planet from which he was forbidden, he had to do anything that he could to rescue the Changeling Zero from a sworn enemy that he'd never actually met. He touched his index and middle finger to his head and in a devastating burst of energy he was on Freiza-sei.

He prepared to travel down to the planet's surface while using his scouter to track the two combatants. He swapped his armor out for protective battle gear, dropping his weights before he took off from his ship. This was his chance to avenge his family and perhaps save another Changeling from walking a darker path at the same time. He leaped down with precision and raced towards them as quickly as he could, waiting for the exact right moment to pitch into the fight.

He zeroed in on the two and just in time to see the younger Changeling speeding away from a gout of flame from the larger King of Changelings. The resilient Changeling fired off a beam from his finger, providing the Changeling Lord with the opening that he needed. Brave soul, isn't he? This should be fun.

Ayakon blurred his speed as he arrived at the battle, attempting to deliver a harsh punch to the side of King Cold's head, figuring nothing better would announce his appearance on the battlefield.

Whether the attack landed or not, he slid into the ice just beyond the pair of them, turning to face King Cold. He dropped into his classic Crush Stance and announced, "COLD! You now face Lord Ayakon of the Brumal clan and Zero together!"

Looking over at Zero he said, "Stand strong. You have an ally with you now."

His skin colors inverted and his height adjusted slightly as he bulked with power, shifting seamlessly into his third and final transformation. With a sinister and almost excited grin, he said to King Cold, "Round two. Ready? Go."

Well after much consideration, I think I'm going to give the RP award to Zero. Really tough call. I won't disrupt the fluidity of this battle with my reasoning though, if you wanna know ask somewhere else. Add in your +15% with your next post and keep up the good work you two three.

Also, because it was requested: damage report. King Cold has been on the offensive (not surprisingly) the entire battle, and as such hasn't take much damage. While Zero, the underdog, has pretty much taken them all while blocking a few. So... you guys are pretty much spot on with your rp's, how you're taking damage. (Not including the last two posts, as King Cold has yet to defend against those actions.)

If Cold had said that he was expecting the whelp to fight back at this point, he would have been lying; but it seemed that instead of the barbecued outcast that the Changeling King had been expected, he got more of the pointless plucky courage. It didn’t really matter, for Cold was a terrible cook anyway. In the age of time that His Exalted Highness had to react to the blast, he decided not to waste the energy defending against it. It just didn’t seem worth the time, especially after the blast hit and left nought after the initial sting but a scorch mark and an irritating welt that itched like crazy.

The King of Cruel was on the verge of coming up with another form of torture when his scouter and his senses both pinged at the same time. It was an odd occurrence; normally the scouter went off first. It wasn’t until Cold bothered to look at the source of the alarm that he realised why his biotic senses were so urgent; the changeling who was approaching was much closer to his own power level and might even manage to pose a threat if he played his cards right.

As the meaty fist of the potential thorn brutalised its way through the storm towards the back of the Changeling King’s head, Cold elected to teach a lesson rather than simply blocking the attack. He wielded his weapon again and threw a wink to the broken thing in front of him. As the newcomer passed the point of no return, Cold spun and crippled the oncoming attack by thrusting his pole straight at the mouth of he who had no right to interfere with royal business.

I don’t think so…

It seemed that Clan Brumal and Clan Celsius would soon be missing a few members and what better way to kick off the suddenly serious bout than by using his pole the only way he knew how. Teeth bared in a primal expression of excitement about the coming bloodshed, Cold moved towards Ayakon of Clan Brumal in long, deliberate stride and was at the point of wielding his weapon against the self-proclaimed Changeling Lord when he side stepped and swung the weapon twice at the almost-defeated Zero. The first swipe targeted the neck of his first quarry, while the second utilised the opposite end of the pole to attack the same kidney that the Changeling King had struck earlier on in the bout.

Using his tail as leverage, Cold sprang off the ground and spun to deliver a horizontal blow towards Ayakon’s shoulder blade with his suddenly lengthened power pole. At the apex of his jump, some ten metres in the air, His Exalted Highness paused and held himself aloft using just his qi. From here he had a view of both foes and decided that the time was ripe to rain two salvos of fiery hell down upon them in order to see how important the whelp was to the pretend Lord.

Each of his two opponents received three beams each from each individual salvo and Cold curved the beams in such a way that they would all arrive at the same time from three different angles in the hope that False Lord Interruptor would take a few shots to the face for the benefit of the almost dead Celsius heir.

An unexpected smirk crawled uncomfortably across Zero’s fatigued face, though it was not because his blast had connected. It was the surprise he had observed in his frosty opponent’s eyes as the bruised and beaten boy blunder dodged and retaliated. Perhaps it was the madness evoked from the mind in the shadow of death that made his killer’s silent, impressed flicker feel like a victory. Whatever it was, it was a blessing. For that short instant, freeze-framed for the final slideshow of his entire life up until this moment, the changeling forgot his pain. Before he could truly revel in the ecstasy, though, the slow motion beauty was interrupted by a sudden trespasser.

After a quite dramatic entrance and exchange with his predestined rival, the third changeling came sliding to Zero’s side. With no further theatrics, the warrior announced his name and clan in the style of a changeling duel,

COLD! You now face Lord Ayakon of the Brumal clan and Zero together!

Brumal? That name rang a bell. The under-pressure son of Celsius racked his brain a moment, seeking a name in the current squalor. Wait, isn’t that the clan of cowards? What makes this weakling believe-, the prince’s thoughts were silenced by his awe at the peaceful lord’s sudden transformation, which closely followed a short motivational speech Zero had initially ignored. His new partner’s aura and skin explored the light spectrum as his bones and body bulged and warped to case the hidden strength within. What emerged was nothing short of what Zero might deem the perfect changeling soldier. The orphaned noble had only seen this type of power from his father, when the madness had taken him to the palace gates in one final stand for his house.

What do I lack, father? What is it that bars me from the power designated by Icer herself? Why am I held back from the power that fuels the heir in his quest to live his expectations? On a prouder day Zero would have insisted that this newcomer leave, but in this frozen wasteland, at his last battle and likely his funeral, the young noble was desperate and without the energy or will to continue alone.

Completely oblivious to either of the other changelings engaged in this honor-duel, Zero collapsed to his knees and slammed his fists down against the icy earth with a yell, a shatter, and a crack. Inadvertently, the last survivor of house Celsius had avoided King Cold’s double strike against him by falling to the ground in infuriated despair. This… this interrupting changeling lord, whose veins ran warm with the blood of pacifists and cowards, had surpassed him in spite of destiny and legacy. Worse yet, something about Ayakon’s pure power was completely inspiring to the previously decided loser in this exchange. Not only had the stunning transformation given him hope of survival, but the underdog exile’s own desire to match this creature’s power had blown a second wind from across the wasteland, fanning Zero’s blackened aura back into jagged, bolt-marked flames.

The boy, suddenly numbed to the constant ache of bones and heart, found his footing once more. This time his face was marked with a true glare, not some ill-masked weakness invoked by King Cold’s enchanted staff. Zero gathered his new inspiration, crossing his arms across his chest and using his tail to plug the holes in his guard as the rain of royal ki fell down upon him and his new brother-at-arms.

He will have to kill me before I lay down again…

When are we eating?
The first attack hadn't gone exactly as Ayakon had planned. His initial punch had resulted in a swelling bruise on the side of his face. Still, he'd made his stand and waited for the retaliation of the King of Cruel. His reputation was more than well known and Ayakon watched as the Changeling King grinned while he prepared his response. Moving quickly to avoid the strike that he expected to hit, only to see the strikes come for his ally instead. Zero surprised him by dropping to the ground and avoiding the attacks. Or… perhaps he'd finally succumbed to the damage done by the vicious King Cold. I should probably help--

There was a rush of air as the bo staff came towards him. The strike came so suddenly that Ayakon couldn't dodge it, but he instinctively shifted slightly so that his Saiyan-modeled armor absorbed the majority of the primary strike. King Cold's acrobatics became a rainstorm of ki energy that threatened to pepper him and his new ally. His stance prepared him for any retaliation that he may have done. He moved with the rapidity of his new transformation, blocking the spheres of energy that threatened to slam down on his ally. In the process he was forced to take the blasts that Cold aimed for him. With several rapid strikes and a vicious tail strike he created several holes in the ice around them rather than letting Zero take the damage that he couldn't handle. The primary thing he had to deal with now was repair the damage that'd been done to the member of the Celsius clan.

"Here," Ayakon said. Pressing on his palm twice with his middle finger, a small green bean fell into his hand. He glanced behind him and tossed it straight at Zero. As he spoke he made sure not to take his eyes off of King Cold. "Catch it and eat it. You'll need it for the rest of this. Keep on your toes, he's nothing to toy with. If you see the chance to attack him, take it, but be on your guard above all else."

He jumped to the side and prepared himself for his retaliatory attack. Zero's power level was relatively smaller and taking a few steps away from him may have proved dangerous. He quickly created a circle with his thumb and index finger, placing it to his mouth with his remaining three fingers jutting outward. In an explosive version of the technique he'd seen King Cold perform upon his entry, he fired a massive burst of fire, releasing it straight at his flying opponent.

As he let King Cold deal with the ball of fire, Ayakon worked on one of his newer techniques. He reached his hand out aimed straight at King Cold. Rather than fire an actual ball or beam of energy, Ayakon maneuvered the ki around him and began to constrict the air surrounding the Changeling King, hoping to crush him in a sphere of invisible energy or at least bring him back down to the ground. Should his method be somehow ineffective, he figured King Could could retain the high ground for a bit longer, but sooner or later the Changeling Lord of the Brumal Clan would come up there to get him if he insisted on staying up in the air.

It appeared that Ayakon of Clan Brumal was still determined to be one of the good guys and was willing to put his own life on the line to do it. Sure, the energy dan wasn’t exactly the strongest move in the Changeling King’s arsenal, but the interloper had made his intentions very clear. His intentions were further telegraphed when he threw a fireball. This fiery retribution wasn’t made from ki and as such there wasn’t a lot in the King of Cruel’s arsenal that could negate it. There was little more he could do, other than allowing himself to be burned alive, other than to move as fast as his oversized frame would permit in order to avoid the previously mentioned burning alive.

The angle of approach of the fireball was such that the best way to dodge the thing was to move straight down towards the ground, which was perhaps the whole point of using such a difficult to block attack. As the fireball passed without active burning him, Cold found that the oxygen was gone from the atmosphere behind it. Was it not for the fact that he did not require oxygen to survive; the simple attack could have spelled his end.

The follow up attack had no fireworks; there were no loud sounds and no flashes of expended qi energy. What did occur was invisible, but nevertheless sent King Cold’s senses into overdrive as the shamed interloper stepped up his attack. As Ayakon’s power level spiked in connection with the qi usage, His Exalted Highness elected to take no chances. Violet electricity began to arc around him, dancing between sources of qi energy in order to absorb them into Cold’s own ki reserves as they relieved the pressure of the qi pressing in on him.

Exceptionally unamused, the Changeling King decided that enough was enough. This Ayakon was playing with fire and now it was time for him to realise the folly of going up against a member of the royal family in a battle. He stretched both arms out beside himself, forming two incredibly powerful balls of energy above each of his finger-tips. Once they were fully powered, he brought his hands together and prepared to fire the violet-indigo finisher beam. Before he did so, Cold used the after-image technique in order to move to the space two metres of front of Ayakon of Clan Brumal. As soon as he reappeared, King Cold fired the beam with a roar and the hope that he had annihilated the problem once and for all.

Zero’s savior had prolonged his lifespan once again; the heroic changeling crossed the sky, absorbing as many of the blasts as he could to protect the wasteland king, even though he was a stranger. The Brumal was clearly insane. Post the heroic rescue, Ayakon landed in front of him with his back to their common foe. He offered the underdog an unfamiliar bean and a few cautionary words.

The Celsian snatched the snack from the air and observed the random act of kindness with suspicion. Where did this changeling get off? This was all very unnatural, and too warm and fuzzy for Zero’s tastes. Figuring he could not get much worse off, and pretending for a moment that his ally actually needed him at his fullest power to aid him in this, he popped the plant into his mouth, crushing it between his teeth. An odd feeling overcame the all-but-drained changeling. A second wind, make that third, washed over him with tingling invigoration. Was this the work of that strange, bland gift from his brother-in-cause?

The waning aura that covered him found new strength, returning to its shocking solidarity. How was this even possible? His gaze returned to the distracted Ayakon once more as he resumed the struggle. The creature he had first assumed a weakling had manipulated fire breath into fireball in n assault that grounded the dread Emperor, Cold, though their nemesis still managed to avoid it unscathed. The benefit of this new positioning was obvious to the battle-disciplined heir, and he hoped he was right in assuming it was not his hero’s intent to damage the purple mammoth with this technique. This supposition was confirmed by the Brumal Lord’s next move.

As Zero lacked the perks of both scouter and ki-sensing, the pressure-chamber technique was largely beyond his understanding or sight. King Cold struggled against some invisible energy, his ki burning and waning as it managed to stabilize the fiery atmosphere around the dread king of Frieza. Ayakon had raised the tides with the complicated move, however, and Prince Celsius was relieved to discover he had been excluded from what happened next.

King Cold had begun to charge a purple-blue technique. The seriousness of his charging implied the power behind it. At his current distance Zero was of a mind that his rebellious counterpart might get out of the way, but sooner than he could blink the Emperor Champion had bridge the distance between himself and the true threat in his struggle. What? The capabilities of these two warriors as they clashed were overwhelming to the markedly weaker lizard-brawler. For a frozen moment in time, the changeling considered retreat, but something held him there. A thought came to mind as he observed the bloodthirsty Cold with his attentions turned towards the selfless Ayakon.

It was Zero’s turn to save his redeemer. There was no time to gather courage or consider the implications of his own involvement; the youngling raised a deliberate hand, his finger pointed towards the face of the reptilian tyrant.

Here goes nothing.

And with that, he fired his one-finger blast once more, aimed directly into the eye of his deathbringer.

Ayakon smirked. His burst of flame hadn't hit its target, but it'd forced the Evil King down to the ground. The opposing Changeling's response to Ayakon's next attack surprised Lord Brumal. Rather than be affected by the crushing ki attack, King Cold seemed to absorb the invisible ki in a strange electric charge that all but absorbed the energy from the air around them.

Ayakon watched the technique and his Scouter flashed white for just a moment. The light blue glass returned to its normal color and left a little message that read RECORDED. This created a grin on the Changeling's face. Now he could learn that technique at his leisure. If his attacks could be somehow negated and turned into energy, he could do the same to a future opponent. That is, if he could get out of this particular battle. He kept on his toes, ready for whatever the Dark King could come up with.

King Cold's hands began to glow with with energy so Aya imitated it, with his hands charged with golden energy. He pulled together all that he could, drawing on his inner reserves for whatever he could. This was Ayakon's chance to avenge all that had been done for his family, and apparently all that had been done towards Zero's. The Cold clan was responsible for numerous travesties and this was the one chance for two outcasts to do anything about it.

The Changeling prepared a long distance strike but found that his attack was almost cut short by the King of Changelings blurring his speed and arriving just a half-dozen feet away from the Brumal Clan's last son. Ayakon's eyes widened and he reacted instinctively, once again copying King Cold's technique in order to blur his speed and move back as quickly as he could manage. He almost lost the energy that he'd been gathering, when something struck him.

He wasn't alone. He could feel the energy of his other half right there with him, flowing with his own, allowing him to be completely in sync with his darker half. The two of them worked together to keep the energy charged and gather even more. Don't give up now, his darker half said, we've got this son of a Namek right where we want him. Use everything you need to in order to put him in the ice where he belongs.

Fine. Just this once. Ayakon thought back, gritting his teeth and slamming his hands together, wrists pressed against each other. The energy gathered in each hand combined into one blazing spectacle of golden ki that smashed into his opponent's violet-indigo beam of death. As the energy met, the Changeling saw his ally fire an attack of his own, albeit a much thinner much more precisely aimed beam. Despite himself, he allowed a grin. Let none say the Celsius clan is not brave.

As the bursts of energy entwined, Ayakon's feet dug into the ground and he poured almost everything he could handle into the attack. There would be little room to do this wrong. Had he known Zero a little better, he'd have told him to clear out of the battlefield, but all he could do was put all of his energy into the blast and hope that it was enough.

This was it; the end of Ayakon from the Brumal Clan. Even the whelp from the Celsius Clan couldn’t spoil the King’s moment with his pathetic BB-gun blast. With a cruel grin, he stretched his head up and caught the blow in his mouth, effectively swallowing the attack. It burned like a motherfucker, but the King of Cruel was far too wrapped up in his imminent victory to let a small thing like indigestion bother him. In fact, Cold was so caught up in imagining the spoils of his victory that he almost didn’t notice that Ayakon’s energy was building instead of disappearing. Almost, being the operative word in this case.

As the scouter ticked ever skyward with each passing moment, Cold realised that he needed to put a whole lot of gone between himself and where he was now before the bleeding hearts Changeling let loose the blast with all of its transformed glory. Fuck him for being able to transform still, fuck him for intervening where he wasn’t wanted and fuck him for existing in the first place. As a final fuck you to the annoyingly resilient changeling, Cold used the neural interface in his scouter to record the technique that was being used against him.

There was no way that the afterimage technique was powerful enough to work in this case and the Changeling King’s forehead creased with despair as he braced himself for what he thought would be inevitable. But as the interloper released his beam to meet the indigo-violet penetrator that was heading towards him, Cold’s self-preservation instincts kicked in and he remembered the technique that the Saiyan had learned from the Yaidratians.

Without stopping to wonder whether or not it was a good idea, Cold sought Zero’s energy signature and teleported to in with no time to spare. As his beam stopped received support from its master, it was overwhelmed by the Final Flash. The result was an explosion of nuclear proportions that Cold was completely unprepared for. He may have avoided the beam, but the splash damage of such an epic explosion was unavoidable. It hurled him through the air and depositing him on the ice; his body burning hot and cold at the same time.

I. Am Going. To Fucking. Kill You…

Hatred flaming in every wound, every burn and every other fibre of his being, Cold’s qi flared around him and formed a dragon reminiscent of the Eternal Dragon, Shenron. With deep indigo-black scales reflecting the ambient light and glowing violet eyes promising death to whomever was unlucky enough to be the target, the Violet Eyes Indigo Dragon soared over the battlefield before locking on to Ayakon of Clan Brumal. A deep growl rumbled in its throat as it began to descend at breakneck speed.

It was an apt metaphor, as Dragon Cold dived straight towards the chest of the transformed Changeling who was the person King Cold hated most in the world in this moment. He drew ever closer to his enemy, revelling in the knowledge that this time; this time he wouldn’t be thwarted by an impossibility. After the culmination of the attack, the Changeling King wasn’t content that he had done enough damage to his hated foe. As a grin of unsurpassed bloodlust crossed his face, Cold prepared a razor-sharp kienzan disc and hurled it at Ayakon’s stomach without delay. It made an angry buzzing sound as it whizzed through the air towards the foe who would suddenly be two half foes if everything went right this time.

With his qi reserves starting to dwindle, Cold powered up again and prepared to do whatever it took to beat his fellow changeling should the bleeding heart beat resolutely on as it had thus far.

Suddenly, out of the blue, the super loved and charismatic sex machine known as Buuvan appeared into the battle. Looking around, he could tell all three fighters were trying their hardest. But in the end it was up to the two more powerful ones. You RP very nice... he whispered gingerly inside of King Cold's cochlea, before firing a beam of random energy at the changeling. Enjoy your +15% all stats.

As soon as he had appeared he left, knowing in his heart he would be back shortly to decide who lived and who died. But first, the weaker changeling named Zero would need to post.

Zero had fired off his useless act of rebellion. Consequences he had initially ignored were not all-too obvious to the weakest link in this blood-feud. He had never been more certain in his life that he was “fucked.” As the superpowers connected what must have been the most powerful attacks in their arsenals, a cataclysm of nuclear implications culminated from the clash. By choosing to support his new ally Ayakon, the sharpened edge of the sword of repercussions waited patiently at his throat. Everything was still moving in slow-motion for the changeling rebel, including the catastrophic shockwave from the impressive beam battle.

Waiting for death wasn’t like the myths; the struggles of his past did not flash before his eyes. The only light was the one coming to take him to hell. All Zero could do was stand there with eyes widened in shock. Fear could not bridge the necessary distance to avoid his inevitable end. All the same, something miraculous did happen. The frozen fighter could not comprehend it all at first with the possibility of life completely upsetting his doomed faculties. A giant shadow appeared in front of him to shield him from the blast.

Aya… Ayakon? In the blinding boom he misnamed his accidental savior. King Cold’s ditch-all attempt to avoid the attack had somehow placed him directly in front of his mosquito menace. All of this suddenly gave Zero the courage to shift his body into a useless defensive stance. The best he could hope for was that the behemoth King would take the brunt of the reaper’s summons.

Time returned to normal. The ki inferno engulfed the three warriors, burning with icy fever against Zero’s puny form. The pain was unimaginable. The self-proclaimed prince thanked the Fates for placing Cold in front of him to absorb the fuller effect. The agony finally overtook the youngest warrior’s consciousness. Icer watched her children in patient apprehension of their recovery.

A few moments later, a great weight jarred Zero’s injuries enough to stir him. The Celsian heir glanced upward to see that it was Cold, laying in susceptible spread from the blast. The first and last born of his tribe winced and stifled a shout as his nemesis stirred without note of his insect-threat of an adversary. His exhaustion was too great for his reasoning to suggest that the Ice King had served as his unlikely barrier.

A cold wetness encased his barraged body. Perhaps the ice had melted, but a look into the glacial pool beneath him denied that thought. It was blood, violet blood, dripping from a number of old and new blisters and wounds across his skin. Slowly numbing pain existed everywhere beneath his skin, but the daredevil had survived. He could not simply lie here and give in now. Propping his fire-scorched form, the courageous changeling began the process of standing. Each and every motion and bend towards his simple end elicited a groan, and where more effort was necessary, as putting pressure on his knee, a proper shout. Zero finally found his shaky, wide-legged stance.

Let’s see what’s left.

A weak roar was the piper for his aura. The youngling had all but lost his first and second winds, but here he was, still standing. The all-but-defeated ice-jin lifted himself into the air to relieve the pressure on his body, preferring the burning sensation from the outward manifestation of his life force. Far removed from the death match, and potential, of Ayakon and King Cold, he could offer no service just yet. He needed a moment with his omnipresent soreness.

Okay. Great battle, and VERY climatic. Unlike other battles. So kudos to all three of you. But, not all of you can live from a 500k power level beam. To keep this short, though feel more than free to ask for my reasoning due to the amount of thought put in, I'm going to say King Cold's IT didn't work, and he was caught in the blast. And as such is most likely dead. This being the case, I would also say Zero is alive. And Ayakon is still Ayakon. Feel free to debate this with evidence, but i was very picky with the wording of the RP, and feel confident in my judgement.

When are we eating?
The smoke cleared and Ayakon stopped pouring ki into his blast, the energy carrying off into the distance. The Changeling wavered, all but dropping to his knees. If it weren't for his mastery over ki, that attack would have completely ended him. Still, breathing extremely heavily, he pressed his Scouter and attempted to sense King Cold's ki at the same time, trying to find out if the Dark King of Changelings was hiding somewhere. Both came up empty, with only the Changeling Zero hovering above the debacle guarding himself against the pure force of the excess energy. Allowing himself to revert to his completely suppressed form, he secretly thanked the Kais that he was able to pull out the victory. There had been a very real chance that he would have been back visiting King Kai within a few hours of leaving the immortal realm.

The darker voice in his mind spoke up now that everything was finished. Well, you've beaten the ruler of the Cold clan and perhaps rescued another Changeling from the depths of the brutality that threatens to devour us all. Do you feel better, Brumal Lord?

Ayakon smirked and decided not to answer his other half. Let him brag about the murder or whatever it was he wanted to do. The Changeling Lord had something else to deal with. He raised himself into the air with his ki until he was at level with his newfound ally and extended his hand to Zero of the Celsius clan. "My name is Ayakon, last of the Brumals. It's an honor to meet you, Zero. I'm sorry that we had to do so under such strained circumstances."
