Lake Puramount... The sun glistened over the water of this beautiful resort style lake. Having returned home after a long journey in space, Jared came here seeking pleasure and relaxation. In nothing but swimming trunks, Jared sat over by the lake with his feet submerged in the water, feeling the spring time breeze brisk fresh off the water surface hitting his skin. Unable to really unwind since the start of his quest, this felt like a major relief to him. The lake itself wasn’t far from Dokensapato City and he hadn’t been here in a while. While he indulged, Freed looked about observing the lush surroundings that were the trees and the mountain off in the distance. This is a beautiful place, Jared. Hearing him, Jared turned around to Freed with an expression of joy as he nodded his head in agreement. “Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve been here. My mom and dad spent a lot of time here when they were young. They took me here a lot to escape the city during...” Jared turned silent and grimaced, thinking back to the days of the Panther Claw crime sprees. The pause in dialogue struck the spirit as intriguing. Yet he did not inquiry of it, already knowing that Jared’s life as a young child was tough. He merely nodded and returned his glance to the lake bed. Will you not go for a swim, Jared? Jared stood up and point at himself with his thumb. “Not just yet. There’s something I want to do.” he said as he started walking over to his clothing. As he picked up the pieces, Jared began putting them back on, starting with his dark blue shirt and finishing with his pants. He remained barefooted as his feet were still wet. His glance moved over to the mountain in the far distance. As he gazed, a grin appeared on his face. Mt. Puramount! He and his father took many photographs of the place at one point. It was also a place he chose as training during his short time as a hero of the city. Clearly he intended to go there. Jared bowed his head once and started walking off. Freed stared with intrigue at the young boy, remembering when he first met Jared. I sense a change in him. When I first met Jared he was shown to be impulsive, reckless, perhaps even arrogant and rude. He seems to be developing a sense of discipline and respect. the spirit to himself. Jared walked around the lake bed, simply taking his time. There was no rush for him it seemed. His mind was working as well. Freed’s memories. I promised we would retrieve them. One day I’ll make good on that promise. Even so, with all my traveling, I have become engulfed in feelings of homesickness. That’s why I had to return here. Jared looked around. It was rather easy to see. Strangely enough, there was nobody else around here. He looked over at the water with a bit of a curious expression. You’d think there would at least be people fishing on a day like this. I wonder if everybody is just too busy to enjoy this place. His stroll along the lake began taking him closer and closer to the forest of trees around it to the point he’d eventually venture on in. A quick glance about the a small portion of this wooded area was all that was needed. Through this, one would find the garments of several life forms known to this creature as 'human'. They lay scattered about upon the ground, upon bushes, even inside holes in the ground; holes made by these pathetic creatures attempted to hide themselves in order to escape their inevitable fate. But it was all in vain. Like a skilled hunter, Cell had been able to sniff them out one after the other and feast upon his prey with the mere use of his tail. Marksmen, nature photographers, fisherman, even boy & girl scouts. These were the heavy list of casualties created by the one named Cell. His feet now stood in soft soil looking about. Still in hunt mode, the creature sought after more sources of life laying about in their lousy attempt to hide. That's when the creature laid eyes upon a simple bird clinging itself to the side of a tree. It seemed to be using its beak to peck at the wooden stem of the tree. Believe it was called a 'woodpecker'. Taking a moment to observe this creature, Cell's stoic expression lay pasted upon the bird as it attempted to bore through the wood. Fascinating behavior really. A shame the creature did have much more interest in it. The dangerous pointed end of his tail seemed to be looming over his right shoulder. The noise of the woodpecker pattering against the tree was filling the creature's ears for a time. Then suddenly the creature's eyes broadened and the tail was thrust forward sharply; too quick for the bird to be aware of its approach. The rush of feathers came just before the creature's eyes; a sharp squeal made by the bird followed, and the annoying pecking sound came to an absolute halt. If nothing else, there was the slight relief of silence. That pecking was quick infuriating to allow continuation of. The creature retracted his tail with the bird still impaled upon it. The creature lay eyes upon its now lifeless body. "Hmm...," the creature went, seemingly examining the creature. Then suddenly, the mouth of the creature opened. He then used his tail to insert the bird inside and there was the slight sound of a crunch after that. He ate the woodpecker! The creature seemed unaffected by the taste of the bird filling his tongue. He simply pressed on. Suddenly a stop! His eyes shifted to a bush. A moment of silence. Then suddenly his tail snapped right into the bush. "GWAAAAAAH!!!" Prey acquired. A human had hidden himself in the bushes. Cell didn't bother flushing him out. He simply began the process of absorption, allowing the human's bio-fluids to come rushing into his system; a most invigorating feeling really. When there was nothing more to be felt from this process, it was easy for the creature to assume the human had been fully absorbed. Moving right along now. The creature let himself be swallowed up by the vegetation that was this forest in search of more life forms, leaving behind a most ominous trail of scattered garments behind. Upon exiting the forest again, the creature came upon the lake. Again he'd circled back to it. Much seemed the same except... "Hah?" Footprints in the dirt! The creature's photographic memory recalled circling this lake earlier. No such footprints were present. His eyes narrowed as a sinister grin appeared. Fresh meat! The creature didn't hesitate in the slightest. He'd found his new target. The footprints seemed to lead right back into the forest. Easy for him to deal with. Cell was on the hunt. Fresh meat, your soul was about to become meant for greater things. He heightened the pace of his walk; ever hungry. It seemed he was right to place himself here upon his arrival back to Earth. As he walked, the creature's molecular structure shifted for the removal of the weighted attachments to the skin allowing for greater ease in movement. Jared took his time walking around the forest area. His lax attitude reigned supreme today. He was still hoping to see someone around the area with how perfect the day seemed to be. But it was quiet, nothing but vegetation around. Somewhat bewildered he continued moving along when Freed decided to get in front of Jared and face him. He stopped and looked at the spirit with an impatient glare. "Now what is it?" he asked. I'm getting an ominous feeling about this. "What?" You said we should have seen someone by now. I believe there may be a reason why we have not. "You're quick to assume danger at every corner anyway. What's different this time?" Nothing. But when I feel danger present I am usually correct. Jared, please put up your guard. Jared sighed. To ignore Freed's track record for sensing danger was to leave himself vulnerable. Part of him agreed with the spirit anyway. There was something strange about having not seen anyone out here today so far. It was a perfect day for the outdoors. Jared's own instincts triggered him to be cautious. But to Freed, Jared had to maintain a certain attitude. He placed his fists against his hips and gave the spirit that usual annoyed expression. "Fine, since you say that, I'll do it. Happy now?" He started walking again and only moved a bit, maybe two or three feet, before he came across some discarded clothing on the ground. He looked at it with a bit of intrigue. Kneeling down he reached for one of the pieces. It was a fisherman's vest. It still had baits and extra hooks in the pockets too. Jared's brows sunk and he became serious. "This is a perfectly good vest. Why would anyone leave it here?" Freed looked past Jared. It appears his pants are here as well. Jared, i'm seeing a full set of clothing laying upon the ground here. Jared put the fisherman's vest over his shoulder and then noticed a tiny clearing where more discard clothes were laying about. "Freed, I found more clothes." Freed followed after Jared and saw it all for himself. Several discarded pieces of clothing were laying about. Freed's sense of danger was spiking at this point and he began looking about trying to sense anything out of the ordinary. Jared looked up and saw Freed as alert as a rabbit. His brows began to quiver as he grit his teeth and tightened his fist. Stupid jerk! He's right! There is danger present. he thought. He had been kneeling down and decided to stand up again. Whatever the danger was, it definitely was connected to these clothes being left about. He stepped back when he heard a rustling in the vegetation somewhere. It sounded like something was moving about nearby. Jared went into instinct mode and placed his feet comfortably one behind the other, crouching with his hands comfortably hanging; the Wind Stance. Freed saw this and was alarmed. Jared? "Freed, quiet! I need to concentrate." Freed nodded. He looked ahead in the opposite direction as Jared. Both concentrated, searching with their senses. Neither of them could feel anything at the present time, but something was there. It was right out of a horror movie; something lurking in the bushes, no idea what or when it would strike. All that was missing was 90s style suspense music. Oh Wait! There it was. Actions: Free) Wind Stance Tactician (1/2) |

Tick-tock, target! Your number is up. In fact the creature could hear ticking in his own mind as he continued to walk at elevated pace. The target was near. Cell swore he could hear breathing if he could listen well enough. Stop. A voice was present in the air. It's sounds reached the creature's ears, alerting him to just how far away the target was. The head of the creature's tongue exited past his lips and ran itself along the top. Dinner time. Two more steps and he was completely concealed by a tree. The creature erected his own tail so to conceal it as well. Edging to the right once, twice, a third time and he could peer around the side. Leaves in the way. He couldn't get a visual. He pushed brushed them upward slightly and looked for the visual. Nothing. No sign of the target yet. Continuing along now. The creature was now moving more slowly, typical movement of a predator such as he. The target could catch sight of him otherwise. In a way, the creature had been so forthcoming about its tactics before that it really didn't matter if the target saw him or not. Just like the others, this one would be running for his life too. The creature moaned slightly, taking shallow breaths. His eyes carefully looked around for signs of life hoping to sink his own tail into human flesh again. Then there was the shocker. The creature saw blonde; familiar blonde! It was enough to stop the creature dead in his tracks. That boy; Cell recalled him quickly. Young, audacious, short tempered. Just a few of the words to describe him. Grand banquet was left out. Nothing had gone forgotten. His power, his tactics, his habit of talking to himself; all of it recalled the moment the creature laid eyes on him. But this was different. They weren't astral projects in the endless void created by two minds. This plain was physical, real, logical in every sense of the word. Different playing field meant different rules. While the limitations of the mind could be endless, the physical body had no such bounds. The boy was about to be tested again, this time against the real deal. Cell tightened a fist, determine to lay this rivalry to rest. Unlike the boy, however, this creature was far from reckless. He quickly noted the boy's form. He was guarded. Somehow, the creature hadn't gone undetected. However the boy's form was not facing in the creature's direction, but on an angle. An edge still remained to be had by Cell and it would be enjoyed to the fullest, by the devil's honor. The sly creature's lips curled into a sinister grin. He placed a palm firmly upon the side of the tree that concealed his presence from sight. The muscles in his arms bulged a bit as the creature channeled brute strength. When it got to be enough, the sly creature's hoarse voice uttered a simple word below his breath. “Timber...” A harsh push against the tree snapped it from the roots like a twig. Then it came tumbling down toward the boy with the intent of placing him beneath. The creature moved, swiftly. It was necessary if he wished to maintain his initiative. Sure of himself that the boy in his guarded state would spot the tree and act accordingly, Cell went for the next tree this time before the boy's staring direction. A forceful shove with both hands sent it tumbling down as well. But this time as the tree was tumbling, the creature's feet were shuffling; shuffling along the side of the falling tree going up, up and over. With a boundless leap, the creature was airborne. His calculating mind visualizing the next attack before it even began. His tail slithered down swiftly like a ravenous snake toward the target, the tip gleaming as a sign of how sharp it was. The creature went for the stab in hopes of making an impact while the boy was should be scrambling to deal with two falling trees. No words spoken to the boy yet; no, making himself known before the boy was through hardly seemed smart. So the creature continued moving in hopes of placing himself within an unscathed tree a distance above the ground, of course allowing his tail to retract while doing so. Keep him guessing, power kept low and no movements against the wind. Come on, boy! Handle yourself, or be handled. Jared felt sweat dropping down his face from the sheer edginess he'd placed himself in. It seemed whoever was out there was not being quick to show themselves. What should he do in this case? Nothing but woods lay in any direction. Although he wasn't far from the lake at all. Still, being unable to pinpoint the enemy was unsettling. Jared had never been so focused. This place is a big part of my memories, my life. I'll be damned if I destroy it by attacking unnecessarily. he thought. 'He seems more focused than usual. Jared, what are you thinking?' thought Freed. Suddenly something shifted and his ears caught the sound of rustling in the trees. Both Freed and Jared looked in opposing directions; Freed left, Jared right. Next thing Jared knew, a shadow swiftly loomed over him and he shifted frontward, but his head glanced up to see a tree falling at him. He gave a yelp, Freed gasped aloud. Jared put up his arms but the tree landed inches in behind him. A seriously close call. But no time to relax. Freed called out Jared's name, alerting him to a second tree this time falling at him from the front. This one wouldn't land missing him by the looks of it. Jared had to move around this one. He squared himself and did a roll to the left as the tree came crashing down. Freed had not see this maneuver and attempted to move out of the tree's way despite the fact that the physical plane really had no bearing on him. JARED! he shouted. Jared turned around. His eyes widened. He saw something flying at him, something with a sharp tip. He arched his back, avoiding this sharp tip by inches as it stopped just short of his nostrils before retracting. What was that thing? Jared placed himself back in standing position, quickly trying to gain visual by looking around. Silence again and no sign of the cause of this predicament. But he did catch sight of Freed. "I'm fine. Something just tried to stab my face. Did you see it?" No, I was worried about you. Jared threw his hand to his side, angrily glaring at the spirit. "Stop worrying about me then! There's something here and I can't find it! Geez for once be useful!" We should not stay in this spot. Clearly the foe is using stealth tactics. That was obvious. The foe was nowhere to be seen yet. Jared, you can use your energy to flush out the target. "I won't!" Jared...! Jared held a fist angrily up in front of his face at the spirit and glared at him. "I said no! Now that's the end of it!" Jared turned away from Freed. He looked up into the trees. The forest concealed his foe and so would conceal him. Jared lunged into the nearest tree, lightly landing upon his feet inside the top of the tree. Jared tried to get a sense of what attempted to catch his face just then. He thought about the unidentified sharp object. Perhaps he'd seen it before. But as he thought about it now, he was getting nothing. Where are you? he thought. Senses were picking up nothing so far. His frustration blocked them. Moving along, Jared decided to move back to the lake. It was open space. If there was something after him, it would become known to him there. Jared was about to move when he thought he saw something odd in the vegetation upon the trees. Freed soon joined him. Jared...! The spirit regained his attention. Jared said nothing and pointed in the direction of the odd thing he saw. It was some kind of pattern in the vegetation that didn't seem to match up. Keeping his voice low, Jared spoke to him. "Tell me you see that! It looks like something is attempting to hide there." Jared pointed off to the right. Freed observed. But as he did, even he seemed unsure. Jared made up his mind in the meantime. He threw his right hand out and produced a red staff seemingly like magic in the way of slight of hand. It produced itself at normal length. "I'll find out!" His hand twirled the staff like a helicopter's rotor. He reeled back his right hand, spun around once and let it fly like a spinning boomerang. Meanwhile he jumped forward and grabbed another branch, further closing distance to what he thought might be the enemy. His instincts kicked in, recalling the sharp object that attempted to pierce his face earlier and then he had it. An epiphany, a deduction, a realization! Pick your noun! It came to him. Jared swung himself upward like a circus acrobat. As his body edged closer to it, his senses picked up on the faint power source of a life form present in the direction he was headed. "HIDE AND SEEK IS OVER! SUPER GOKOU JR. TACKLE! HYAH!" Throwing himself into a spin having straightened himself out, Jared shot forth in an attempt to lay down the tackle upon his unidentified foe. His intentions was to pull the thing out of the trees and into plain sight where he could see if his guess was correct. The trees themselves would be his aide in a safe landing after such an attempt only if his coordination saw him through. The creature's objective was met. The trees did the job of shuffling the boy into motion. Meanwhile, Cell found himself safely concealed in the treetops once more, the boy now in place again trying to track the creature's whereabouts. Yes, Cell's observation continued awaiting the next chance to strike at the boy. His inquisitive nature put him in a position of interest as the boy went about talking to the air once again. Did he truly believe someone else to be there? What was Cell up against here? The lack of data on this boy certainly didn't help. Perhaps once the boy was integrated the creature's bio structure, the answers would come. New development! The boy turned and leaped into the trees. Cell became alarmed. Perhaps the boy had detected him. Higher he went, and moving from one tree to the other quickly! He could not be discovered prematurely. Upon finding the new spot, Cell realized his misplay. The boy was no longer visible to him. Damn it all! The creature's frustration bubbled up quickly. It would not do to lose him. The boy hadn't found him! He was simply seeking to place himself out of visual as well. The game of stealth was being played by two. As Cell attempted to find the boy, the advantage of the game quickly turned; in the opponent's favor. Cell turned turned in the direction of a noise which sounded like something whistling across the air. "What? What is that!?" Red and spinning! Some kind of staff was coming right at him, boomerang fashion. The creature let out a grunt as the thing smacked into him clean in the face. Determined to stay balanced, the creature wrapped his tail around the tree branch and gave a tug. He'd been found. If it hadn't been clear to Cell yet, the next thing he heard would solidify this surely. "HIDE AND SEEK IS OVER!" Cell snapped his head around and saw the boy, furious and in motion. Airborne and ready. As the boy threw himself into a spin, Cell prepared to be attacked. The boy came flying at him while shouting a bizarre attack name of all things. "SUPER GOKOU JR. TACKLE! HYAH!" Collision, force impact, pain & anger. In that very order is how it happened. Cell quickly found himself losing altitude with the boy wrenched into his gut. Feeling the posterior of himself boring through trees and branches, Cell began to scramble mentally for a plan of action. Unfortunately Cell had impacted with the ground before anything could have been done to save him from a fall. But he'd at least make sure a rebound was quick. He jumped to his feet, sprang at the nearest tree, letting his feet touch. The boy was in sight, bulls-eye placed upon him. Retaliation was upon him. "You were better off hiding!" Furious motion gained, mind in a blaze of fury and fists prepared. The creature sprang at his recovering foe. Distance covered, the creature's tightened right fist was sent like a rocket in cross punch formation. The most satisfying place for it to land would be across the across the head being concealed by a spiky blonde mess called hair. Put his face down in the dirt good where it belonged! Yes that's where it should go and that's where he aimed. The creature attempted to tumble, his wingspread providing aerodynamic capabilities. One foot on the ground in front of the boy was the desire. At the same time, the creature's free leg, the left one at this rate was sent at him in an attempt to clip his chin should he manage to stay standing. Otherwise it would catch him square in the head; true double whammy! Laying the use of his tail to rest for the time being, the creature sought a different style of attack in the way of a simple body slam atop of the boy's form; simply aiming to keep him grounded. Jared felt the collision of their bodies into the ground. Somehow the impact had managed to split them apart leaving Jared alone to rise to his feet. It was easy enough to do and he did manage to pick himself up. But as he was rising to his feet, the voice spoke out to him dangerously close. "You were better off hiding!" Jared turned. He saw the creature bearing upon him. This was just before a flash that came from the creature's fist colliding square with his face. Jared's body seemed to tumble backwards like a rag doll, his back hitting the face of a sturdy before dropping to his hands and knees. It was much to Freed's alarm that it went like this. Knowing at this point that calling out to him was pointless, Freed could do nothing but watch as Jared contended with this creature. By now he recognized it. The thing from the astral plain! Jared tumbled to the left and right before the creature's new standing position. The creature's offensive was merciless, sending his foot right into Jared's chin as he tried to rise. It lifted him into the air in a diagonal rise. Jared's eyes squinted after being initially closed from taking the sharp hit square on. He reached back with his arms, catching sturdy branch by the surface. Using this he pushed off and threw his legs back for a tumble. Now Jared was swiftly jumping from the tree branch to the others one at a time; one-two-three-four times in succession. Once he stopped he tried to rub his chin feeling the sting of the creature's foot from before. "WAGH!" The creature dropped upon him like a brick and snapped the branch off in the process. A solid body slam attempt was pushing him toward the ground. But the boy grit his teeth, tensed his muscles and got his mind right. Jared then rolled around trying to place himself on the creature's back, using his own driven momentum now. There was a crash upon the ground; a rush of dirt and dust flying accross the grass. Jared had reversed the body slam and forced the creature down into the ground first for the impact. He jumped back, went into a cartwheel then back flip to regain standing position, eyes now full of the sight that was the creature. It was him! Cell... "So, you tracked me down to Earth, huh? Big mistake!" Jared shouted as his tooth grin appeared. His brows stayed sunk and his eyes still appeared to be angry. "You're the reason why there's nobody around here aren't you? What did you do to the people here?" Jared eyes looked up. The fisherman's vest he had before dropped down on the ground at his feet. He looked at it and figured it out. The person who wore this was a victim of Cell. His ears perked up and his hand went right up into the air, taking something into the grip. The power pole returned to him. He'd managed to launch it skillfully enough that it returned to him in the same manner a boomerang would. Now he held it firmly in one hand at his side awaiting the creature's eventual answer. Freed rejoined his side. Jared, are you ok? "I'm fine! This creature is responsible for the lack of people!" I can agree with that. Find out how and keep your senses straight. If we were in the astral plain you could borrow my strength. "Don't need your strength! This is my home! I'll defend it with my own strength!" Jared rushed forward now, not really wanting to give the creature the opportunity to retaliate fully on Jared standing idle. Jared tumbled the staff in his hand before swinging it down on the body of the creature with both hands. He jumped afterward, tumbling forward once and letting a leg drop lead the way to the creature's shoulder. The staff was placed into obscurity the same way he produced it as he landed on the ground with hands and feet. He was hopefully positioned close enough to the monster to attempt this. Jared jumped up sharply and threw his upper body back. He let his legs follow suit and attempted a flipping razor kick at the creature's body, ultimately hoping to slash upward across the body and clip the chin the same way the creature had done to him; Karma! Cell let out a grunt as the the boy placed him first upon the ground. Again the creature felt the sensation of pain. Sturdiness allowed the ambitious being to stand up again and go on the retaliation front. Cell's hunger for the boy's bio-extract pushed him forth. He would not be denied. It would be lying to say that the creature didn't enjoy the struggle somehow. All throughout the day, he encountered helpless human and after human. The boy made him work for it, thus making the hunger feeling much more invigorating. By nature he was meant to strive. Cell saw his efforts paying off when he managed to land the hits from earlier. Now the boy stood before him, finally able to recognize who he was up against; and he said as much. "So, you tracked me down to Earth, huh? Big mistake!" The creature grinned, seeing his anger. Was he getting fired up already? What was his grin about? Perhaps this boy shared the exhilarating feeling of effort and ambition with Cell. “Was it a mistake? Or was it meant to be? We have encountered each other several times in the realm of the mind.” The creature started taking steps toward the boy calmly, a grin very much visible to the eyes. It needed to be refreshed in his mind that Cell was the hunter and he was the prey. The creature reached for his right wrist with the left hand, fingers gently massaging the wrist as his hand did a circular motion at the 'joints' and the fingers limbered themselves with his willing. Cell stopped as he noticed the boy's eyes wander above. Also curious, the creature took note of the single piece of clothing that seemed to fall out of nothingness somehow. Why would the boy's attention be drawn to it? "You're the reason why there's nobody around here aren't you? What did you do to the people here?" Cell closed his eyes, broadening his grin as he tilted his head to the right; only stopping when he felt a crack. Then he did the same to his neck going left with the head. All the while he had his left hand doing the same limbering motions he did with his right hand, massaging the wrist with his right hand now. Once finished the creature held both hands before his eyes, opening and closing the hands at a decent pace to test his flexibility and comfort. Perfect, just as he soon would be. He tightened the fists before his eyes and held them there. Then his reptilian-like deadly eyes placed themselves on the boy once more. He let out a chuckle of amusement to the boy's questions. “Perhaps I am. You'll just have to find out, won't you? I'd gladly demonstrate my technique on you.” The boy then sent Cell into confusion with his next reply. "I'm fine! This creature is responsible for the lack of people!" That reply had nothing to do with Cell's rhetoric at all. Talking to himself again. Cell stopped grinning, glaring ever suspiciously at the boy. Who the hell was he talking to? He could sense no one there! The boy continued again talking to the air with, “Don't need your strength! This is my home! I'll defend it with my own strength!" I must find out the logic behind this. It is starting to agitate me. Finally the boy put an end to his chatter and rushed forth, toting a weapon of sorts in one hand before bearing it down on him. Cell shifted body to the side, feeling the rush of the air upon his chest as he turned his upper body to the left. His eyes fell upon the weapon just before witnessing the boy leaping up again. Cell straightened out. He crouched, and followed the boy with his eyes, again grinning as he too then jumped, readying a leg. The boy readied his leg and tumbled. His leg dropped. Cell's leg rose. Clack! Ankle met shin! The boy's leg drop, Cell's upward kick! They collided in midair. Suspension above the ground for a two fold moment! Then their bodies moved apart. Cell landed first. The boy after him. He came in low, Cell stood tall! He flipped back! Cell felt a blow! From the legs that shifted up, slashing! Cell feel back, body crashing! Back first and then he felt the sting of the boy's razor kick which he caught clean! Upon his feet now, Cell now ready to go. He launched forth seeking retaliation ten fold! With a dashing spin, hopefully much to his chagrin, Cell unleashed attempting to lay the smack; using his tail to catch the boy's face and snap his head back. The moment the creature sidestepped his staff strike, Jared became aware of the creature's ability to work around the opponent. The ankle clash in midair only reinforced this. But when he clipped the creature good with his razor kick, Jared was reminded that his own skills were on par. He landed with both feet, sprung into the air, tumbled backwards and landed again. Hands upon the ground & down on one knee he looked up and saw the creature positioning himself. Then with a charge the creature was off. He was aiming to give Jared little breathing room. Jared stood up and jumped as the creature spun around in front of him. With a loud crunch, he heard the sound of the creature's tail hitting the side of the tree. Jared hung from the branch above with his legs spread apart as far as they could go. "Ugh!" he grunted as he pulled himself up to the branch. He jumped high again into the vegetation concealing himself for the moment. As he shallow his breathing, Freed appeared to him again. The creature seems to have improved in his skills. He's presenting a bigger challenge to you at this point than he did last time. Jared took a deep breath and nodded in response. He looked down through a space in the leaves trying to keep his eye on Cell. He wouldn't stay there long. Jared couldn't afford to stay in hiding either. The creature seemed amazing with stealth. "I need to draw him toward the lake." What is the point of that? "Open space, Freed. The creature can't use stealthy tactics there. I thought you would have that figured out before me." You're different about this fight. Usually you're reckless and do things on a whim. What's different here? Jared angrily glared at Freed at first but then looked down in sadness. "A lot of great memories with my parents are here. We often came here when Panther Claw's crime spree made the city stressful to live in. But we couldn't afford to move at the time and my dad did not want to leave his home. If I allow this fight to continue here, this creature and I may..." Destroy the forest. So your aim is to preserve the area while attempting to gain victory. Jared nodded, a gleam of light appeared between him and Freed just before the two of them found themselves in the same realm of Freed's mind as before. The spirit stood before his thought chamber at the top of the first flight of stairs. Jared was placed somewhere in the middle of the same staircase. Jared, I understand the desire to protect one's precious memories and home. Remember my quest to find my memories is still on, and now I know where my home is. "Yeah, and I don't plan on breaking my promise. You'll find all your memories by my strength!" he speeched with a fist against the center of his chest and a look of determination. Since you say that, let's work together. "We can't use Spiritken in my dimension and your directing me is a distraction. Besides this is my fight." Freed produced a bit of a grin. Neither directing you nor the use of Spiritken were my aim. Jared was confused. The Spirit pointed toward Jared. When he did a shimmering light appeared at the center of Jared's forehead. It projected a light that formed a door right in front of Jared. The door opened and Jared was able to look inside. He gasped. "This is...!" Your mind. I've unlocked a door in your mind. Right now you are only partially focused. When you step in there now, you'll find your full focus. After that, I will only observe and offer encouragement. Jared closed his eyes and smirked. This guy had so many surprises so far. Still it was difficult to argue. Freed helping Jared to find full focus was acceptable enough. It beat having to listen to him instruct when to throw punches and where. With a leap, Jared jumped through the door. Then reality was visible again. His hair moved by way of a breeze that pushed through just then. He stood upright upon the branch and jumped off the tree, leaving Freed behind for the moment. He landed upon the ground again with his back to the creature. "Hey..." he called out. He turned his head slightly back and let his grin appeared. Full focus was Jared in his usual air. "You don't look so good! All green and covered in spots. I think you're sick. We should get you to a hospital. I'll help you get there." I need to turn up my efforts. The lake is just through there. Now Jared opened the flood gates a little. A forced air pressure exerted itself from his body as he churned more strength. He crouched himself slightly than sprinted toward the tree in front of him. He jumped, planted both feet against the side of the tree, locked his focus on Cell and then sprang. With a sharp burst of increased speed, Jared clamped both hands together as he sped toward Cell. Shooting the arms in a cross motion, Jared launched a sharp hammer shot toward the creature's body looking to force him backward. Feet planted against the ground he pushed forward attempted to get closer to the lake. He used the trees as spring boards to aide this advance. Attempting to keep close he tried to press the heel of his right palm sharply against the creature's body again. At this point, his eyes were starting to turn and glow aqua blue. The water was near. Activate Poseidon Stone! The source of his water abilities now came active and he began to give off a potent aura. Through the vegetation he emerged by the lake bed finally, planting his feet against the dirt with the lake now beside him as he continued to pressure Cell. The surface of the water became greatly disturbed beneath the bellow of Jared's focus reaching out to it. He extended his hand forward and shouted out with a roar. "HYDRO PUSH!" His hands projected forth. Then a stream of water emerged from the lake, snaked its way over Jared and then projected itself toward the creature packing intense pressure within. Surely it would place the being on the move to do something. Jared's arms were pumping up and down as he went into full sprint action trying to suffocate the creature with offensive action, not caring if the water affected him or not. He attempted to get close to the creature again and let his fists pump the creature with a left and right hook combo and elbow strike release at the body, attempting to knock out his wind. With a sharp spin, Jared produced his power pole and sharply rifted it upward in an attempt to hit the creature's chin once more. After the tail swipe, Cell's predatory eyes followed Jared into the tree tops. The creature folded his arms. Trying to hide again; really? Did he really expect to stay up there long? The creature shifted his position, intent on following his adversary up, up, and into obscurity if need be. Just as the creature's feet were practically leaving the ground, surprise took the creature. The boy dropped out of the trees. Much out of left field, the creature planted his feet once more and eyes returned to the boy. His mind was scrambling to figure out what was coming next. Clearly he was going to advance again. "Hey..." he called out. He turned his head slightly back and let his grin appear. Looks like he found his confidence, or foolishness, the latter being more appropriate in Cell's process of thinking. "You don't look so good! All green and covered in spots. I think you're sick. We should get you to a hospital. I'll help you get there." What a poor choice of insult! The boy may as well have choked up a 2nd grade rhyme with that kind of humor. Cell was not moved to be angry in the slightest. He was set to go defense when the moved again. "Indeed! You may try. But I don't think you can pull it off." A sharp increase in pressure seemed to present itself. Cell could feel power exerting from the boy's body. He was turning up the juice. Plot thickening! The creature let his lips curl into that sinister grin of confidence; sure of himself that the boy could not throw him anything he could not handle. Then it happened! His body moved toward a tree and he sprang up to the side of it with his feet pressed against as the end result. Cell certainly didn't wait for him to rebound. He sprang backwards allowing some of his own power to rise up. Past the first tree he went. The boy followed seeking to attack. The boy's arms moved! Cell's body moved! Crack! That was the sound of wood snapping as Cell was pushed through the tree by the boy's hammer blow with a jump. Quick on the recovery with the adrenaline rushing through him, he pushed back still trying to keep distance, the boy pursuing adamantly. He landed on the ground and snapped his body backward as he felt the impact of the boy's quick heel strike to his chest. Into the sunlight exposed lake area they went. Cell took his place upon the ground, the boy following shortly thereafter. Interesting to note, the boy's eyes gave off an aqua colored tint to them as his power began to fluster again. The next attack was coming. Cell's arms moved into position, head aligned right his erected right forearm, left arm crossed in front of the chest, tail curled and limber for balance. The boy's hands projected and Cell's eyes boggled at what he saw. The surface of the lake lifted to his whim. Elemental Control!? This boy had elemental control! Cell looked astounded as his ears filled with the sound of the boy yelling, "HYRDO PUSH!!" Then he looked with urgency at the stream of water tearing his way and worked quickly to accelerate his own body to the point of becoming near invisible. The crashing sounds of the water were heard as they hit the ground where Cell would have been. "He picked up a few tricks! Damn this kid!" Cell's feet planted against the ground again this time to the boy's blind side, or so he thought. The boy used his senses to follow the creature's movements and was now tearing toward him relentlessly. Instincts activate, self preservation mode now in effect. Cell too now had his eyes glowing of blue, only far darker than the boy's glowing tint projected. Cell let his hands project forward as he shrieked with rage. As he did icy cold projected from his hands converted into such completely by the creature's own ki energy. He unleashed the blast of cold air directly on the boy as a defensive measure to disrupt his following physical assault. However doing so left him vulnerable and he caught it good, boy the boy's weapon strike upon the chin. "Gwaaagh!" The creature shrieked out as his feet lifted. He fell back and hit the ground. Down again! But certainly not long enough to consider himself taking a critical hit just yet. The creature sprang to his feet and rubbed his own chin, now agitated by the boy's strike. "So we've decided to up the ante, huh? ALRIGHT THEN!" Cell's tail began to wiggle furiously as he focused his himself upon it. Something began to be visible moving down the shaft of the tail and now he was moving the tip around to the front of him. The creature gave out a loud grunting sound as the tail tip opened up and produced an orb of a strange color of yellow and green. Cell took it into his hand and looked to the boy with rage. The orb began to give off an emerald glow. "One of my many surprises! Hope you like it! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!" Cell gave the orb a furious toss, hoping to actually strike the boy with it. But even if it missed, the orb, now hurled toward the target began to release it contents. A whisk of stasis energy poured out from the orb meaning to surround the boy. Cell could be heard laughing, knowing well what the orb would do upon successful exposure to it. The boy's fortune was about to dwindle heavily. Jared the icicle pop stood frozen in place. To think this creature had Freezing Blast in reserve! Water was highly susceptible to freezing. A hard lesson learned about the weakness in mastering the control of water, it was now time for Jared to act in response to this weakness. Jared attempted to channel his energy. His body was too cold. To make matters worse, the creature seemed to take advantage of Jared's incapacitation by hurling something in the way of a spherical object at him. As the object drew closer, Jared's struggle attempts increased. But the object reached him before anything could happen and he felt an odd sensation through his body. "I...cannot...linger here!" Jared shut his eyes tightly and tried to gather strength. His body was beginning to numb which made it easier to concentrate. Jared's body began to radiate with energy as he focused. Jared's muscles tightened. He felt his body stiffining and his power boiling. His mind flashed of all the different places he knew were warmer than inside this block of ice right now. The moment his mind flashed an image of a beach full of women, the dam broke. The sound of an explosion was heard as ice shards went flying in several directions and Jared's arms flung out now free from incapacitation like the rest of him. He had a white vapor aura around his body from all the pent up energy gathered that assisted him in breaking loose. He took a single step forward. HIs body quivered but he seemed to be functional. "Freezing blast! Lucky shot! Did you enjoy the break? It's my turn now!" Jared prepared to go into action but he felt a great deal of...hesistation? from his body. He grunted slightly and looked down at his left leg. Trembling! His leg was trembling. What the...? The freezing blast, is my body still bogged down by the effects of being frozen? Jared didn't want to spend too much time thinking about it. Jared had best act quickly before the creature figured out his moment of weakness. Jared did a slight hop off the ground before leaning forward with his fists. A sharp acceleration of the body and he was off charging Cell once more. He quickly placed himself in front of the creature with a blurred leg swinging around for his head. Jared turned himself in a 360 and maneuvered his other leg around for the same place in windmill fashion. It was a double windmill kick at the head. After the full turn he landed on the ground poised to strike again. He did lunge but his body froze in terms of any of his limbs moving. Instead of jumping into the creature, Jared sprawled over his left shoulder and hit the ground full body impact. The moment Freed saw this from a distance his urge to rush over took him by the throat. However the spirit remembered his statement about not doing anything other than to encourage the boy so he approached but kept distance. Jared, what's wrong!? He picked himself up off the dirt, now on his hands and knees. He could see his arms trembling. The spirit looked over to the creature quickly recalling the orb that was thrown at Jared as well as the Freezing Blast. That has to be the reason. Jared you have to rise before the creature attacks! Jared struggled to look up at the spirit. Anger was written on his face. "We...had a deal remember?" But Jared... Jared rose to his feet albeit slowly but surely. He turned around with his feet still unwilling to do much more than that. "That's it then! The matter is settled." Jared feigned a smirk as he looked at the creature. "As the sporting man that I am, I'm giving you a chance to throw some shots. Let's see what you got!" Jared chuckled but at the same time a sweat drop appeared on the side of his face. I am so in trouble right now... Actions 1: Break out of Ice 2-3: ST + 2x SA (immobilized) 4 & Tactician Lost |

It was beautiful. It truly was. The snarky little blonde kid that had managed step ahead of Cell for this long had now seen a drastic change of pace. Stuck and helpless was certainly the creature’s kind of pace. “What’s the matter? Feeling chilled?” Cell smiled. He placed a hand on his torso and started walking toward the trapped boy; gently patting his torso as he drew near. His smile broadened as he drew closer and closer. The creature’s tail tip now hovered dangerously over his left shoulder and he chuckled. “Don’t worry. It’s warm inside. Your suffering will end momentarily.” The boy seemed determined to struggle. There was nothing more satisfying than watching the target put up a futile struggle. It was time to end this game of cat & mouse. Suddenly Cell felt the boy’s strength starting to brew. The smile faded. The walking ceased. The target freed himself shortly thereafter with an explosive burst of his strength. Cell’s started unflinching as the boy sent shards of ice flying apart from him. The mouse seemed determine to continue struggling. The creature drew in a deep breath and shrugged. The boy seemed to dust himself off and put that arrogant smirk right back on his face. “Freezing blast! Lucky shot. Did you enjoy the break? It’s my turn now.” Cell quirked a ‘brow’ if you wanted to call it that. The boy upheaved his own speed and rushed in, catching Cell once in the head with his leg. A bit of resistance and Cell merely put with the own snapping of his neck to the left and a loss of balance for that first hit. The next kick however caught Cell on the recovery, knocking him sideways. The skid marks in the dirt were proof of Cell keeping up resistance. He slid from the force of the hit regardless. Irritated, the creature turned to face the boy again. He was back on the ground. With a lung he went to attack again. In a sudden twist, the boy completely went by him and planted face first in the dirt. He wasn’t confused in the slightest. The boy made a failed attempt at shrugging off the effects of the ice blast and stasis orb. “A little slow getting up, are we? I’m not surprised. Your poker face is terrible kid.” Cell quickly walked over, meaning very well to kick a man when he was down. However the boy managed to get up entirely. His smirk returned and he chuckled again. "As the sporting man that I am, I'm giving you a chance to throw some shots. Let's see what you got!" Cell let out a laugh of his own as he resumed approach. “Is that what you’re doing? Sorry. I thought you were struggling. Let’s see which of us is correct!” He stopped. The distance between him and the boy couldn’t have been more than three feet then. Cell couldn’t wipe the smirk off his own face if he tried. He had a theory. Theories were made to be tested. Cell flung himself into a wild spin, pivoting on his left foot, attempting a roundhouse kick with his right foot. He aimed for the midsection. Completing the turn, Cell went into a crouch. He allowed his tail swing around his own waist, sending the needle tip right toward the boy’s right leg. After pulling the tail back the creature turned sideways and let the tail extend greatly, working it as quickly as he could around the boy where he now attempted to use it to bind him, pressing the arms at the boy’s side; attempting to coil it around until about just above the groin. From there the squeeze would be on. Actions: 1) Roundhouse Kick (SA) 2) Tail Stab (SA) 3) Tail Bind (SA) Ki used: 0 Total Used: 5% |

Jared could say this about the creature, he knew how to send chills up a person's spine. The voice, the speaking tone, the glaring eyes! All of it contributed to a very intimidating persona. Jared certainly could say he was feeling it with his body barely doing as he'd like it to. The creature let out a laugh of his own as he resumed approaching Jared. “Is that what you’re doing? Sorry. I thought you were struggling. Let’s see which of us is correct!” When the creature stopped, he was dangerously close to Jared. Freed's concern for Jared was growing as the moment of silence was had. He's the only means I have to obtaining my memories! If he loses here... Cell spun and Jared wanted to move but he felt a paralyzing sensation throughout his entire body just before the kick collided with his midsection. He went sprawling sideways, hitting the ground and sliding over to the edge of the water where his head head hung just inches above the water over the side. JARED! Jared struggled to move his head. His ears perked up to the sound of something sliding through the air. He lifted his head suddenly feeling the effects of paralysis subsiding. That tail tip! That dangerous tail tip! It was coming right at him. Jared lifted high his right leg, his eyes widening as the tail sunk into the dirt where his leg had been resting. Jared rolled to his stomach and attempted to jump toward the water. But at this point he felt something coil around him and jerk him backwards. "ACK!" Jared turned around and saw the evil creature's tail had extended itself to the point it could bind him. He hung in midair, legs kicking pointlessly as he tried to break loose. He called upon power only to feel that gripping sensation pulse through his entire body. His left eye closed, his right eye squinted. He felt his body being constricted by the creature's tail. "AGH! LET GO! GRRR!!!!!" Freed sat speechless and helpless looking at the boy hanging in midair. He can't move! His body has been completely paralyzed. He has to fight it! Able to see the creature eye to eye Jared ceased his legs from kicking in the air and looked down at him. Somehow he had a grin on his face. "If this is your idea of a hug, I hate to break it to you but I don't like you nearly as much as you like me!" His muscles wouldn't answer him. His power seemed stalled. But if there was anything keeping Jared optimistic at this point it was what would happen when the effects wore off. He just had to hope he was still alive by then. Suddenly Jared's body seemed to have life in it. He could move his legs. Breaking loose might be possible. But if I try to and my body gives out again I'll make my life worse. But there is a way... Jared thought. Jared continued to try and helplessly squirm while he shut his eyes tight. He felt his mind bubbling with intensity. Yes! This just might work. He opened his eyes and smiled. "Hey ugly! Maybe others like to be your main squeeze! But this guy thinks you're all wet!" That dangerous aqua tint in his eyes returned, much to Freed's glee. The surface of the lake began to ripple and move. Suddenly with Jared's burst of concentration he let out an outrageous cry. "HYDRO PUSH!" A thick burst of water ejected up from the lake and went flying toward Jared and his captor. He forced the water toward Cell, snaking it around to miss himself. If there was any luck, Jared's chance at freedom lie here in this unlikely counter assault. Actions: 1-2: Dodge Action 2 (Immobilize-2) 3-4: Hydrokinesis (Immobilize-3) Tactician: Stasis'd (2/3) |

Theory tested! The result, just as Cell had hoped. The boy's confidence was a bluff. As the creature's tail squeezed the boy tightly, it was clear he was not in much of a condition to do anything about it. Thought it was very fun to watch him squirm. "As I told you before, your poker face is terrible. But that is a trivial matter at this point, wouldn't you say?" Able to see the creature eye to eye Jared ceased his legs from kicking in the air and looked down at him. Somehow he had a grin on his face. Cell raised a 'brow' to that just before the boy spoke again. "If this is your idea of a hug, I hate to break it to you but I don't like you nearly as much as you like me!" He still had room to speak. Cell would have to squeeze tighter then wouldn't he? Cell examined him head to toe. To think he'd managed to last this long! The meal to come was going to be quite satisfying. How much longer could he resist the creature wondered. Thoughts of banging him around began to enter the creature's mind. Rough him up a bit and make him ripe for the feast. The trees could assist quite nicely. "I think it's time I prepped you for integration, young one." The boy's face looked like it would explode with how flushed and red it was. His eyes were closed at the moment. Cell smiled under the belief the boy was suffering in his grip. But then the boy's eyes opened and upon his face was his own smile. His eyes were giving off a blue color. This was not good. "Hey ugly! Maybe others like to be your main squeeze! But this guy thinks you're all wet!" Cell turned to the water and saw the surface becoming very disturbed. It was the boy's elemental control at work again. Water began to furiously rise from the surface of the lake as the boy called out his attack. The same as last time, a stream of water was flung his way. This time it was enough to catch Cell. The water carried him backwards and he felt his grip on the boy loosen to the point of release. He planted his feet on the ground again as the pressure subsided and skidded backwards to a stop entirely. "You and your shrewd little tricks!" The creature was angry. VERY angry. The creature's hands rose up to his chest. His eyes had not lost Jared for even a moment. The advantage would not be lost here. Extending his arms, Cell's eyes began to give off a dark yellow intense glow. Ki energy was gathering. He knew the boy's ability to move was still hampered. A relentless attack now would be enough. If the boy was observant enough he would notice the air rippling around him. The creature's eyes were now glowing a solid yellow as his hand projected forward. "Do you feel heavy yet? If not you will...DEMITON BOMB!!!" Gravity Pressure increased harshly around his target. 50 times? 100 times? Cell hadn't exactly taken the time to do the math. He simply unleashed the monster attack upon his target. The ground beneath him sharply sunk as well; a picture perfect example of sudden implosion. Cell was looking to make an impact, an impression; add your pun. He was looking for it. Feet not missing a beat, the creature took to the skies with a running jump. The sun was right for use and he knew just how to use it. The creature's body attempt to quarter-eclipse the sun while he suspended himself above the ground. With the boy below, Cell's hands masked his own face, chuckling all the while. "Meet your doom boy! SOLAR FLARE!!!" As bright as the day was, the creature's technique amplified it tenfold by releasing a sharp rush of light right of the sky, enough to cover the entire lake; certainly enough for someone lurking about the woods to notice. As long as the boy was taken in by the light, whoever else around was not a concern of Cell's; for now. Then like a hawk out of the sky, with his senses locked upon the boy's position ground side, Cell dove out of the sky, wings spread wide arms at his side. He flew right into the maelstrom of chaos created by himself. His aim was simple, take the boy right off his feet with an aerial tackle and sharply crash him for the hurt. Freedom! Jared was more than delighted to see himself released from the hold of his opponent. He let out a bit of a cough as Freed approached him, silently encouraging him to rise to his feet. Jared did so quickly, only to feel the same pulsation through his body. How much longer would he have to put up with this? Attempting to get a visual on his opponent after the attack, Jared was worried. These strange effects couldn't be permanent! It was becoming too obvious that Jared needed to up his efforts. The creature was uncomfortably angry and he could feel the creature's energy beginning to rise. It had grown since last encounter! "You and your shrewd little tricks!" The creature was angry. VERY angry. The creature's hands rose up to his chest. His eyes had not lost Jared for even a moment. Extending his arms, the creature's eyes began to give off a dark yellow intense glow. Jared felt shift in his body weight beginning to take place. Jared, I feel energy surrounding us! Jared's hands went to the air. "Funny you should say that! I do too!" The boy's body was beginning to give off a glow. "Do you feel heavy yet? If not you will...DEMITON BOMB!!!" There was a sharp shift in the air around Jared just as Jared let out a yell at the same time. Strange sparking swirls of power began to appear as the spot attempted to implode. The energy released was somehow attempting to shift gravity. However it found itself being drawn to Jared's hands instead as his eyes gave off a red glow and his body gave off an intense heat aura. Freed had never seen Jared do this before and was left confused. As Jared continued to draw the energy, his glow intensified like a light bulb being magnified. Encased in a ball of energy, Jared was unseeable for a few moments. A rush of power, a flash and then Jared was visible encased in a raging firey aura. He was the center of his own rage as he stared ahead with his back to Freed. "Transmutation..." Jared uttered with a growl. What? Jared looked up and could see the creature in the sky. He scowled as the creature's position became known to him. He had his hands masked over his face fingers spread. Jared's brows quivered with urgency. "Meet your doom boy! SOLAR FLARE!!!" NO! Being blinded would make this situation even worse. Jared shut his eyes, lowered his head and used his arms parallel crossed in front of him to shield his vision in hopes his body would not collapse to the effects of the creature's earlier tactics. Freed however took the light head on and could be heard screaming in agony. Jared held his position firm grunting and growling as the light tried to dig its way through to his closed eyes. "Kyuh...Freed...!" He shouted. Suddenly he felt it again. Paralysis gripped him tightly and he was stuck in position. He couldn't move. Not good. The creature must have been counting on it too. The next thing the boy knew, his body had been viciously picked off the ground by solid impact from something flying into him. With an agonizing growl, Jared was forced. His body became limp and he was forced into the ground with a crash so hard it sent his body rolling along the dirt where it only stopped as the boy was blocked from going further by tree that didn't bend over the force of impact. His body trembled with the pain of the exposed blow, but his mind recalled the feeling of a sharp heat spark at the moment of impact. The flame aura had to have backlashed on his opponent for rushing recklessly into him. For now he could only lay there with his body still shaken by the hit and the paralysis. Cell found it hard to believe this boy had given him such a hard time in the astral plain at this point. Several critical blows and now he had the satisfaction of seeing the boy writing in agony upon the ground. The creature made its way toward him. Nothing like kicking a man when he was down. "How long, young one? How long before I can swallow you up?" Cell stopped and peered down on the boy. A grin on his face he lifted attempted to lift the boy's face up using his tail so he could see the agony. Pained expressions were the creature's elation. "You seem to enjoy enduring pain. Well far be it from me to deny you your sadistic pleasure." The creature's hand produced a single shot injection into his hand from some sort of empty space at first glance. The creature jabbed the shot into his arm taking an exhilarating breath in as the injection pierced his arm. With a push on button, a strange purple substance entered into his 'bloodstream'. Once the contents were empty, he yanked the needle out of his arm and tossed it aside. "Now then, shall we continue?" The creature removed his from its current position. Then he thrust it again, this time seeking to impale the boy's face. It was a brutal thing for the creature to do. No wonder he did it without hesitation. As if that were not enough, the creature attempted to stab the boy's back with the same style in tail jab. He jumped back after the attempt and crouched a bit. He was determined to bring the boy's life down to absorption ready. Focusing of the energy. His target was going nowhere fast. "YAH!!!" The creature rushed and vanished. A rush of flames was now seen speedily approaching the boy as he did. Chunks of the ground were being burnt a cinder. With that the creature attempted to get into nitty gritty combat with his helpless foe, getting in close and letting himself go berserk. Jared didn't even know it was possible to feel such pain in the eyes. He opened them. Blurred vision to the point of needing coke bottle frames. The light hurt as well so closed again they went. This was going so wrong right now. But now Jared was beginning to understand truly being on the losing side with his life at risk. It was a call back to the many times his family was in danger during the Panther Claw seige. His mentor's pain was becoming understandable even more. What would Junior do if he were here? He felt the threatening approach of his target but his body staggered to do pretty much anything right now. "How long, young one? How long before I can swallow you up?" Swallow me up. Ugh.. His mind flashed just then to all those discarded garments about the forest that he and Freed came across. It made sense now. This creature literally sucked those innocent people up right out of their clothing with his tail! The tail was how he did it. Jared knew it was bad news before but this realization gave it a whole new meaning. "Bastard! I figured it all out now! I hate to break it to you! But I'm not on the menu!" "You seem to enjoy enduring pain. Well far be it from me to deny you your sadistic pleasure." There was a moment of silence. Jared's mind scrambled to do something, anything. Body, if I ever needed you to work with me before, no time is greater than now! Come on! I can't end out like this! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!!!!!!! Jared's hands suddenly clenched dirt as his teeth pressed hard against each other. He then heard the creature's voice. "Now then, shall we continue?" It was do or die at this point. He felt the creature removed his tail from its current position; beneath his face. As it went thrusting toward Jared it seemed like impending doom. Then suddenly, snap! The tail was stopped in its tracks; by Jared's own hand! "I...will NOT be taken down!" He thrust the tail back and rolled only to have the tail pierce into his back. Jared felt pain and he staggered. But his face was stamped with determination. Jared then felt something. His body functions. They returned to normal. He could feel it. He tried to open his eyes but blurred vision was still the case. Jared ripped the tail from out of his back and jumped to his feet. He could sense the creature at least and attempted to look his way. "Since it's like this...since it's like this...I'll endure this blindness!" Jared could hear the creature crying out for blood. Then he felt the release of the creature's energy and a rise in temperature. Something was approaching him with a heat signature. Jared's instincts triggered the poseidon stone once more. This time a rush of water like energy produced itself swirling around him as he crossed his arms like an X in front of his body. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" the boy roared as the approaching heat signature met with his energy and exploded. There was a rush of dirt in several directions and the wind bent the trees back nearly forcing them off. The dust quickly cleared to reveal Jared shrouded in a thick veil of water. "Hydro Veil!!" He sensed the creature's steady approach and did a near boundless leap into the air attempting to flip over him. He staggered into a landing feeling his right foot sink down into water. The strength of the left leg lifted him and prevented him from falling entirely into the lake. His mind triggered and remembered Freed's presence. He couldn't find the spirit. But unlike Jared, the spirit was in no danger of bodily harm thanks to his form being a mere astral projection into the real world. "For the people that once enjoyed this place, you're going to get bitter justice, creature! If you think I need my eyes, then come get me!!" Even blind, the boy was able to struggle. It seemed like his body was recovering from the stasis and Cell's earlier ice blast. As the creature touched ground again, he heard the sounds of the boy landing upon the ground. He smirked and stood in place. "Still resisting? I'd be impressed if you were doing more than running away. Guess I'll continue the chase." Slowing him down seemed to be the way to go. With the Stasis Orb and the Ice Blast, he'd managed to bring the boy to a crawl to dish out some damage. Now it was time to see how else he could slow him down. The answer came quickly. Through his tail he pushed out another orb into his palm. If it were another stasis orb that would really make his day. But this was another just as lethal. With a hefty throw, the orb was launched at the blinded boy. The effects would be seen all too soon. Unfortunately these weren't immediate effect orbs. Upon hitting the ground it detonated, releasing a simple stun gas onto the boy. Now it was time for the attacks to resume. With a start, the creature turned. The boy was not far away. He started sprinting across land for the boy's position. The loss in momentum on the opposing side was beautiful for helping the creature's advantage. With a lunge, the creature opened up with a quick right and left hook combo at the face of the boy. The left strike positioned on angle so that he could unleash the tail again for the boy's torso in hopes of placing a hole in the stomach. "Tell me, young one! You seemed so much stronger in the astral realm! How is it that it is so easy to pick you apart in the real world?" Cell was about to delivery another strike when suddenly he felt a sharp pain through his own body. A reach for the left shoulder where the source of the pain seemed to be and he discovered that a burn was existent there. How was this possible? Suddenly his mind flashed back. During a few of Cell's earlier attacks, the boy seemed to have some strange red aura around him. It was some kind of flame aura. It must have inflicted a burn on him during one of the contact attacks he made. Cell's anger boiled again, realizing it was another one of the boy's shrewd tricks. He'd been gradually lashing back with latent attacks that forced the creature to damage himself. "DAMN YOU!!!!" Cell's right fist reeled back, ki appearing around it. His eyes practically stared right through the boy as he rocketed the fist straight toward his chest, a trail of angry energy behind the attack as it went shooting for his body. Jared attempted to open his eyes again. Still blurry. It was a serious waiting game this fight with all the inhibitions placed on him. The creature seemed to be taking advantage of everything that had been done to him as well, or trying to. Jared stood pressed for action when Freed called out to him by activating the gem of telepathy between them. The two stood face to face inside the mental corridor once more to converse. Jared, our opponent is stronger and more skilled than anticipated. You cannot afford to continue like this. "Don't you think I know that? But I still can't see!" Then feel. The blindness will wear off soon. That's when you stage your real attack! Jared nodded. My memories and your life hang in the balance. No more holding back. You cannot protect your home fighting at this pace. A flash of light and Jared was within the real world again, still blind, still on the defensive. His ears perked up to the sound of something exploding. A wisp of gas was released on him and Jared breathed it in full go. He coughed as the gas filled his lungs. Now what was this? As he was trying to take guesses he suddenly heard the sounds of the creature's fast paced footsteps sprinting in his direction. The creature meant to take advantage of his blindness and Jared had allowed this long enough. He's right! I have to give it my best protect and avenge everyone this creature killed. He won't get away with it, Freed! Watch me now! Jared opened the flood gates as his opponent rushed in. Jared's ability power began to surge through him. A dark blue aura appeared around him as the creature rushed in. He extended his palms out to meet the creature. The temperatures began to take a sharp nose dive. Jared could feel the creature approaching fast. "FREEZING BLAST!!!" A rush of ice cold wind and a burst of power all ejected from the boy's hands onto the creature, the same manner in which it had happened to him. He aimed to encase the creature in ice and debilitate him. This defensive tactic allowed him the chance to avoid whatever attack he had attempted to unleash at first. Then he jumped up and could feel the wind from something rushing up beneath him. He flipped back and landed. "I've allowed you to do more than I should! It's time for you to be defeated!" The creature's angry yell was more than the boy needed to hear. Homing in on the creature's voice Jared took a daring lunge to the left and found himself completely submerged into the lake with a splash. For the moment, he had avoided the creature's wrath. But now he was submerged in water, floating there. I have to win. This place isn't just part of my home, my mentor has also been here. If it were Junior, he'd find a way. I need to as well. As a reflex Jared opened his eyes when he could no longer feel stinging in his eyes. He could see clearly the surroundings of the lake he was swimming in. My eyes. I can see! He looked up at the surface of the water where his opponent was waiting. His eyes began to give off a strong aqua blue tint. Meanwhile above the surface, Freed had also regained his sight and could see no sign of Jared. Jared, you need to be ok! Several moments of silence and then Freed noticed something in the water. Something was emerging. The first thing to come above the surface was a hand. It reached above the bank of the lake and planted itself on the surface. A second hand appeared and now Jared could be seen slowly pulling himself up from the water. He got down on his hands and knees once back on dry land and started coughing as he tried to take in air. He seemed winded. "Evil creature! You messed up big time coming to this place. You should have never come here and taken the lives of this forest away. Because you did, you've given me more power than I've ever had! With it I'll see your defeat." His eyes were still closed. Jared raised both hands above his head and began focusing. Aura of blue, the boy's mind began to command the water. This time it ejected from the lake and swirled above his head. He created a ball of water, now condensed and highly pressurized. "This power is gifted to me by the soul of the undersea lord! Receive it! HYDRO BALL!" He unleashed the ball of water at the creature's form, highly expecting him to try and defend against it. Jared then sprang into the air as high as his body would allow him, also attempting to place himself in front of the sun. It seemed to work for the creature. Perhaps it would do Jared the same justice. Hands masked in front of his face, Jared shouted to Freed with a telepathic link to his mind. Your eyes! Protect them! Freed gasped and ducked himself behind a tree, knowing what was to come. "Time for the payback! SOLAR FLARE!!!" Now Jared was the one to unleash a blanket of light upon the lake and surrounding forest, something that took place as he dropped out of the sky. With a tumble he landed himself upon the ground awaiting the effects of his attacks only to have his body feel slightly flimsy afterward. Whatever was in that gas was about to take effect shortly. The boy needed a miracle. "FREEZING BLAST!" The moment the creature heard these words he was surprised. A wave of cold washed over him giving the boy ample time to maneuver. Unacceptable! "I've allowed you to do more than I should! It's time for you to be defeated!" After that simple phrase, the boy took a dive to the side and hit the water. A break in the action it seemed. This kid should have been done with by now. His tricks and wild maneuvers had allowed him to stay ahead this long. Taking this moment of ceasefire to his advantage, the creature broke himself loose from the ice he was placed in. If not for his power over water, the creature would be willing to believe the boy to be a sitting duck. But the water was advantageous to him. That was enough to decide that he should wait for the boy's emergence from the water. He'd used a decent amount of his own power fighting thus far. There was also the stun grenade that still needed to take effect. For this, the creature's patience was needed. He waited for the moment where the boy would emerge from the water again to perform his attack. Cell took notice when the boy's hand emerged from the water first. His second hand appeared and soon the predator could lay eyes on his soaking wet body once more. A pleased expression preceded him as he looked at his weary-appearing target. "Running on empty hah? You should just submit now and end this pointless game." "Evil creature! You messed up big time coming to this place. You should have never come here and taken the lives of this forest away. Because you did, you've given me more power than I've ever had! With it I'll see your defeat." Still he wanted to fight. The struggle was beginning to agitate him. How could someone drag on for this long? Cell stood ready for the boy to try and attack. He still appeared blind for the moment so it was still his edge. The boy suddenly raised both hands and began to focus himself. Cell got a look at that aura of his and knew he'd be calling on the power of water shortly. The creature took several steps back and crouched slightly, prepared to move when needed. This time it ejected from the lake and swirled above his head. He created a ball of water, now condensed and highly pressurized. "This power is gifted to me by the soul of the undersea lord! Receive it! HYDRO BALL!" More than ready, the creature's body disappeared in an instant as he looked up. The water ball hit the ground with a crashing splash and Cell appeared rising in the air from jumping. He looked down on the ground but could not see there at all. His senses triggered when the boy's power rose up. The boy was above. Cell appeared surprised to see him there. He recognized the boy's position of the hands. "NO!" "Time for the payback! SOLAR FLARE!!!" Immediately the creature pressed his eyes against his own arms as he began to take his fall. Light blanketed the area and the skies. The creature let out a growling yell as the light ruthlessly tried to reach his own eyes. The creature landed on the ground, sensing the boy also there. "DAMN IT! THIS HAS GONE ON LONG ENOUGH!!!" The creature rushed the boy's energy signature. Spinning around to give a tail swipe at the body. His anger pushed him to keep the attacks going in hopes the stun grenade had taken affect. Cell placed both feet on the ground facing what he hoped to be the boy's front side. His tail attempted wrap around his leg and yank him upward, holding him upside down. His angry strikes shot at the boy's torso region; a right and left jab. Then with a furious gusto, the creature spun around and attempted to launch the boy sideways into the trees as hard as he could. Heavy breathing now as the creature's anger as gradual fatigue began to show itself. But he would last long enough to see this through. Promise made. Picked up, boxed and thrown. Jared found himself picking himself up off of the ground. Cell was going the way of ruthless trying to bring the boy down to his knees and end the fight. The creature said it had gone on long enough. Jared couldn't agree more if he tried. It was time make the effort to bring this fight to a close. It was just a matter of if he could actually pull it off. He stood ready, sure that the creature had to have been affected by the solar flare. The effect of the stun gas had worn off. And from what pain he had endured from it, he had his own idea. "Two can play that game!" Jared reached behind and snapped something off of his belt. It was a grenade. Pulling the ring off of the orb, Jared gave it a mighty toss at the creature. What goes around comes around. Freed joined Jared's side as normal and pointed ahead at the creature. Jared, it is your chance! Go! Didn't even need to be spoken to him once. Jared allowed himself to go into motion, a fast and heavy sprint toward the creature as his eyes boiled with rage. As he closed distance, a silohuette of a charging wolf appeared beside the boy. His hands were ready to ravage the creature like nothing he'd done in battle before. With a mighty roar, Jared unleashed upon the creature. The first strike was a furious right hook aimed for the creature's face. At the same time it was unleashed, the silohuette did a lunging claw swipe conjoined with Jared's arm. Left hook aimed at the chin was made to look like the wolf was doing an upward claw at the chin. Straight left jab at the torso was made to look like the wolf was digging into the creature's torso. Jared's right jab appeared to be the same. The wolf then jumped to the right, Jared jumping to the left. He watched the image vanish as he landed. He had the next attack visualized and was now remembering the outcome of an earlier attempted combo. It couldn't be allowed to happen again. Commited to memory, Jared's mental abilities sent enhanced brainwaves through his entire body as a warning to be wary of the creature's one crippling retaliation move, the Freezing Blast. Then his hands began moving up and down at accelerated speeds just before they were made to look like eight seperate limbs. With a sharp forward leap, Jared's speed upheaved a great deal to the point of invisibility. He rammed himself forward attempting to pummel the wind out of the creature with machine gun fist action aimed at the torso! Left, right, left, right, left right! Jared's fists pumped in and out subsequently as the boy roared with fury. An uppercut was unleashed after eight sharp punches had been launched at the creature. He spun around and coordinated himself to drop an elbow on the creature. Using his legs to tumble, he attempted a landing on the right side of the creature before letting his left fist rocket semi-upward for a left cross at the face. Then he combined his wrists together, clawing his hands and forcefully attempted to step in further and force the palms into the creature's chest. Jared was hoping to keep use as minimal force to subdue this creature. But given how things had turned out all battle long and the stakes at hand, it could not be helped. Freed looked at Jared; Jared to Freed! A mutual nod was exchanged and the spirit placed his hands on the boy. He focused into Jared producing a well of ki for Jared to draw his force from and the boy called upon a familiar technique as his aura raged with obvious traces of fire as activated from the magma stone coursing through him. Together the two spoke the words as he cupped his hands at his sides. "KAME....HAME...!" NOW...JARED! "HAAAAAAA!!!!" Hands thrusted, power erupted! The blue & red beam of energy exploded from his hands and as he held them forward. At the same time, tears seemed to be falling from Jared's eyes, thinking of how destructive this attack could be to the area. Silently he apolgized to the region, allowing his feelings to be carried through the energy beam. Jared's face tightened up and he focused into the beam in hopes of catching the creature's body within. Heh. Going to go ahead and declare myself KO'd. Even if I go ahead and defend this round, the 3x stun actions next turn would end this anyway. Good job kid. The next battle is a real one. |
