Aimee listened intently to Ja’Vel The Wise Man. He considered his proposal for another test. Another trial. Things could only get better from here. She had nothing to lose. All her life had been a series of progresses. From her time with her parents as a child trained under the Art Of Matsu to her latest trainings on Kanassa, life for Aimee has been full of action.

“So, what do you say? Would you like to take the next trial?”
“Yes.” Aimee nodded. “I am interested in taking it. When do we begin?”
“Well,” Ja’Vel said with a grin, “That is up to you. We could finish having our meal and begin it immediately or I can give you time to hone your telekinetic skills before you begin the trial. Your choice.”
“I’d like some time to practice my skills.”
“Very well. We’ll leave it for another time, or day. Whenever your ready.”
Ja’vel reached for a cutting knife on the table, grabbed it, and brought it over to a triangular piece of cheddar cheese. He took the knife and used it to cut a piece of it off, then after putting it on his plate, he placed the cheese on a cracker and ate them both together. Aimee reached for her wine glass, grabbed the narrow part below the base of the part the held the liquid and swirled it. She swirled the glass and gazed at the fine red liquid as it swirled within the glass. She then stopped swirling it and brought it up to her face. The girl brought the wine glass up to her eyes and observed the number of drainages. Whatever they were called. She noted the number, which she knew allowed a wine drinker to know the alcoholic content of the liquid within the glass. The girl then brought the glass up to her nose, closed her eyes and smelt the fine liquid. She tried to differentiate the different smells. What came to her mind were blue berries, black berries, and notes of chocolate and rasberries. She then took a sip of the liquid and swirled it within her mouth. Around her taste buds. Then the back of her tonque. Then she swallowed. It reminded her of back home when she used to be with her father in the wilderness during a time when they had picked berries around their home on many occasions. She then opened her eyes.

"This wine. It tastes very nice. Do you mind if I see the bottle?"

"Certainly." Ja'vel stood up from his seat and walked over to the kitchen. His footsteps sounded off an echo as he moved to the kitchen. He returned with a bottle in hand and placed it on the table in front of Aimee He then sat down. Aimee reached for the bottle and held it up to have a look at the label.

Acoholic Content: 14%. Blueberries. Strawberries and rasberries. Some blackberries. Fine Vineyards, Edgewater Town, Earth.

"Hmm. I thought it had hints of chocolate. Guess not."

"So what brings you to Kanassa?" Ja'vel asked suddenly.

Aimee looked back at Ja'vel and then leaned back in her chair. "I was told that I would be able to learn the skills of telepathy and telekinesis here. So I came to see for myself."

"Yes. Such things are well known about our people through out the cosmos, especially among the peoples of Avalon. What is your motives for learning such abilities?"

"Long story. I'll sum it up like this though. Where to begin. I encountered a certain man on Earth who called himself The Count. At the time I was unable to subdue and defeat him. He left my partner and I alive. We formed a partnership, called Earth's Z Warriors. We parted from one another and I made it my goal to seek out training. When I was a child, my father had trained me. He had passed away since. When I had heard about a renowned martial arts master, I had to seek him out. I quit my job as a police officer for my city and journeyed to Roshi-sensei's island. I underwent his trial, passed, and he trained me under the art of Kamesammen. I now knew two schools of fighting: The Art Of Matsu, an art that has been passed down through my family as a tradition, and the Art Of Kamesammen. Then one day I encountered a stranger who threatened my home city. After subduing him, I realized that I had to keep training to get stronger in case I faced anyone who proved to be stronger than I. It was merely a precaution. I learned about Kami, the guardian of my home planet, and sought him out. I trained under him. Then I eventually encountered someone much stronger than I. A green creature. With a tail. I prevailed in my duel with him and unfortunantely he did not survive. I continued my training and journeyed to outer space to seek out different masters. All the while I have kept in touch with my partner, Raiosu Kirishi. I went to Namek-Sei, and Yardrat-sei. I trained under two masters named Guru and Yardrat Eldar. And now here I am, sitting before you, enjoying a meal. You ask for my motives, well since you want to know, my motives for seeking out training began with my encounter with The Count who I was unable to defeat. I'm lucky to be left alive. I encountered two people with evil motives who threatened my city. Ja'vel-Sensei, I was raised a Matsu and brought up with my father's ideals and our heritage as a member of my clan. I worked as a police officer, and now I work as a partner in an alliance called EZW. I'm motivated to make sure that I can protect my city, my planet, and also my friends. Should I ever face someone like The Count ever again, I want to be prepared. I am willing to lay down my life for my friends. My motive is self sacrifice and love. It is about doing the right thing and serving justice to those who deserve judgement. I do not wish to take a life, but if I have no choice, then I will have to."

Ja'vel smiled and folded his hands together. He then leaned in.

"You're telling the truth. I can read your mind and I see what you were referring to."

"Why am I not surprised. I take it you kanassians do not respect privacy."

"Forgive me, but I wanted to verify you were telling the truth. Usually we communicate with our thoughts. Are you able to telepathically communicate with me yet?"

"Not yet. I'm still learning to be able to do that."

"Soon you will be able to. Then you will find that telepathic communication is much more convenient. You will be able to get your point across completely even if you do not understand another person's language."

Aimee thought back to her past encounters and interactions with others. As a police officer, invading another person's mind was a freedom that she was taught to not impede. However there were certain situations that she wished that she could have had those powers for. Two of those situations involved Shin and the green creature she had once faught, whose name was Cell. She reflected on the time she interrogated Shin.

"I understand that you feel uneasy about having such powers. Powers to be able to invade a person's mind at will. Powers to impede the rights and freedoms of others and their right to privacy. There are people who come to our planet with good intentions, and there are people who come with bad intentions. Then there are those who come with good intentions and turn to darkness. I had to ask about your motivations because of this. Forgive me for invading your privacy. But you must understand..."

"--I understand, sensei. I do not mind."

"And I also understand that you feel as well as think you need more time to practice your telekinetic powers. You lack the confidence you need to face me, and you struggled with your self to pass the last trial."

"I see. I can't hide my inner feelings from you after all."

"And now you realize the gravity of this next trial. You understand that when we battle, I will be able to read your mind and counter your movements. This won't be an easy task."

Aimee grinned. "You got me. But I'm determined to pass it, one way or another."

"Now that you understand, it is imperative you become more confident and improve your telekinetic abilities, otherwise if you falter you will fail. This isn't just a battle of telekinetic powers, it is also a battle between ourselves."

Aimee pushed her chair back and stood up. "If you think you can psyche me out with your lecture, think again. I'm determined to win against you. There are things we must do in life that we don't always want to do. We must push ourselves past our comfort boundaries if we are to succeed."

"Glad to know you feel that way. I believe you, and your inner feelings confirm it."

"As you already know, I need to spend some more time training. There is no point in hiding it."

"Glad to know you realize this. You may go. When you are ready, come seek me out and we can begin the trial."

"Thank you for the meal, sensei." Aimee gave her teacher a respectful bow.

"Allow me to put this all away for you. Someone once said that the ones who are great are the ones who serve others. Follow me example."

Ja'vel picked up the dishes and everything from the table from their meal and proceeded to walk over to the kitchen to put it all away and the proper dishes into the sink. Aimee left the room to begin her training in preparation for the future trial the awaited her.

Chapter: Aimee's training

Aimee sat cross legged on the ground outside the temple building. It was in the middle of the day and the weather was good, with not even a breeze to disturb her. The girl closed her eyes, took a deep breath, then opened them.

'Time to rise.' Aimee motivated herself within her mind to start her self-training session. But first she would begin with some practice.

The Hero stood up. She extended her arm out and used her mind to lift a rock in front of her. It lifted and then she directed it with her mind to be thrown at a distant pillar. She allowed it to be tossed and watched it lob through the air as if it had been thrown by a softball pitcher. It failed to hit the mark and landed just below the target.
She looked around for another rock, found one, and lifted it up with her mind. This time she lobbed it further and watched it smash against the stone pillar and break apart.

'Good'.

Aimee found another rock, this time bigger than the other two and raised it into the air with her mind. She held it in the air briefly and rotated it around, first by accelerating the movement, then by slowing it down to a complete stop. She then looked at the pillar and directed the rock toward it, only this time she shot it straight for her target rather than lob it. It was sent out and flew even faster than the two rocks in a straightened path towards the pillar. It collided with the pillar and broke apart, leaving smaller pieces and dust falling to the ground.

Aimee extended her right arm out at a section of the ground before her and used her mind's eye to make a cut into the ground. She imagined the size of the piece of ground she wanted as well as what it would look like. She then focused her mind and attempted to pull the desired segment of ground up into the air. The segment of ground rose into the air and there remained a hole from where it used to be. She jumped up on to the segmented ground with which she used her mind to get and used her telekinetic powers to move it forward. As it got closer to the pillar she jumped off of it and landed to the side as it smashed against the pillar. It shattered into dirt and dust and fell to the ground.

Aimee stood up to a full stand and took out an item from her pocket. She activated it. A clone appeared before her. The clone and her gazed at each other before grinning both at the same time. She wished she had the ability to talk to others, but oh well. For some reason she could foresee things, but not communicate using her mind with others yet. Nonetheless both of them would know what each other would be thinking.

The two Aimee's leapt away from each other and landed some distance away. A gap separated the two of them. The Original and The Clone gazed into each other's eyes. Shit was about to get real. The Clone grinned and extended her palms at the ground beneath The Original and pulled the ground up into the air. The soil extended up as if she was creating a hill. The Original bent into a squat and jumped high into the air to avoid whatever her clone had in mind. As she ascended into the air, she focused her mind on a nearby tree behind the clone and uprooted it. It rose into the air and she fired it off at her clone. The Clone heard the tree coming and jumped out of the way and retaliated by firing off dirt, debris and rock into the air at The Original.

"This is stupid. I don't want to battle here. I'm going to take this elsewhere or else the temple ground will soon become destroyed." Thought The Original. An aura then formed around her as she shot away from the temple ground. She could feel her clone pursuing a course for her as well. After a considerable distance--of about ten kilometres---The Original descended towards a forest below. She descended past the forest canopy and landed on a branch below. Fortunantely for her she could still see through the canopy, however the ki signature of her foe had grew faint. She also noted this and suppressed her ki as well. Two could play at that game.

The girl jumped from branch to branch, then landed on the ground below and began to run through the forest. She heard footsteps off in the distance as well and turned to look at it. Off in the distance was her clone running parallel to her. The clone too was looking in her direction. They both ceased their movements and stood where they were. The trees that were in the space between them began to be uprooted and it became a battle of attacks using trees. Trees collided with trees. Branches broke off and flung through the air. Everything seemed to be crashing into each other between the two and piling up like a heaping mound of debris. The Original wouldn't have this and decided to take to the skies instead, focusing on the debris and using it to create a tsunami of debris she had hoped would bury her clone. Nope. Off in the distance she heard the sound of trees being torn and uprooted. The soil being disturbed. A large swath of trees were pushed away in all directions and then were rose into the air. They then were sent for The Original, who then made the necessary maneuvers to evade the attacks. The girl made a full arc before taking flight to the ground below where she believed her clone was. She landed and powered a barrier around herself. The debris bounced off of her barrier and landed around her.

"Time out!" The Original shouted from where she stood. "Time out! Time Out!" Suddenly all the debris throwing and everything stopped. The Clone landed to a spot in front of Aimee.

"Whats up? Done already?"

"Yeah. I had an idea. I don't think neither of us is going to win at this rate. We're going to end up destroying the forest with the result of our spar being a draw. Perhaps we should end it and just focus on other forms of training."

"Yeah, okay."

The Clone vanished in a poof of smoke, leaving being a capsule. Aimee used her mind to bring it to her, grabbed it then put it back into her pocket.

"So, you are ready then?" Ja'Vel asked his student, curiously.

"Yes."

"But I know you have doubts."

"Life is full of risks. You have to be willing to push past your comfort level to reach your goals."

"That's the spirit!"

Ja'Vel stood there as stone and iron gathered together, from within the temple room, and became two golem statues. The two statues came to life and moved as if controlling their own movements. Aimee's mouth dropped in awe as she watched them move their arms and legs, as if trying out their new bodies. The golems were gigantic! Though there was still plenty of room within the confines of the temple room they were in for them to move.

"Would you like a tutorial?"

"Certainly."

Ja'Vel briefly chuckled. His laughter echoed through the confines of the temple room.
"Aimee. The challenge is simple: Get past my golems and lay a hand on me. Once you lay a hand on me, the trial will be over."

"I'm game."

"Excellent. Only we won't be doing the trial here. We'll be doing it outside." Suddenly the golemns collapsed to the ground.

"Those were just demonstrations to test your will. The actual trial is outside. Follow me."

Ja'Vel led Aimee to the temple grounds outside the temple. From there they continued walking until they came to a large open field. There were many stones littering the area as well as steel pillars.

"Look around you. This will be the battle ground. Your objectives remain the same." Suddenly the steel and the stones began to fly into the air and collect together. It all condensed into two gigantic golem humanoids. The forms began to move as if on their own. Aimee watched them test out their new bodies. They punched their air. They kicked the ground and jumped up and down, then dashed to the right.

"Think you can get past them and land a hit on me?

"I'm game. Lets do this. I feel a lot more comfortable now that we aren't inside the temple."

Ja'vel walked over to a boulder and sat on it.

Aimee bent her legs into a squad and tightened her fists. She brought them to her side and summoned her full power from within. The ground beneath her buckled and cracked. An aura of light flared around her. The light then exploded around her as the aura expanded. The light licked the air as it cascaded down from the top of her head and flowed along the ground like a morning mist. She then transformed into her cosmic coloured silouette. She then leapt forward straight for one of the golems and cocked her fist back as she moved. An after image was left from where she stood.

"Hold on! Hold on!" Ja'vel shouted as she quickly stood up and watched one of his golems explode and break apart from an unseen force. Aimee suddenly phased in just mere inches from where he stood, seemingly poised to strike. She lowered her fist and stood at full attention with her arms to her sides.

"You'll gain no experience from this trial if you aren't challenged. Let's....give you a handicap and see how you can handle the challenge then," said Ja'vel uneasily. He laughed.

Aimee changed back to her regular form. She then suppressed part of her power back to ten percent of her maximum.

"How about now? I'm back at where I was when we started the trial."

"Perfect! Yeah. This will do. I underestimated you! Just if you pass the trial with flying colors without an effort on your part, how will you learn anything from this experience?"

"I understand. Alright Ja'vel-sensei."

"Please, please. Go back to where you were before and we shall begin this trial again."

Aimee grinned and began to walk past the golem that she had destroyed with a single punch. She looked at it briefly as she walked past it and stopped where she had begun the trial. She turned to face Ja'vel and watched him reassemble his previous golem.

The golem was reassembled back into its golem form and Aimee watched it move.

"Now come!"

Aimee dropped into a lunge and then leapt forward into a spring. She headed straight for the golem that she had previously destroyed. She watched as it reacted to her movement. The other golem moved into position as well as if to prepare for anything she might do. Aimee jumped up into the air intending to jump over the golems, but they too jumped into the air. It then swung its fist at her and she raised her arms to block the attack coming her way. The golem knocked her back to the ground and Aimee landed with a hard thud and slid along the ground.

"Not so easy now, is it?"

"Yeah, I know. I know," replied Aimee, getting back up. "And that hurt too. Ugh..."

Aimee then took off into a full sprint again. She then darted to her left as if to run a full arc around the left most golemn. It followed her and acted as some kind of goalie to block her movement. She then sped to her right and watched as the two golems continued to block her waypoint.

Aimee grinned and decided to sprint forwards. She jumped high into the air and, after placing her hands to her face, yelled "Solar Flare". A bright flash went out and she then shot forwards intending to get past the golems. However the golems moved into position to block her path and then swung their fists in an attempt to knock her back. She quickly sped under the golemn's right arm and flew through the space under its arm and got past the golem.
