Combat Rune.

The galaxy was slipping into Darkness. Rem... felt it. The Justice League had faced down threat after threat, leaving each world they visited better off than it had been when they had arrived, but still... Something was wrong. There was an organization destroying planets and massacring people by the hundreds of thousands, but that wasn't.... the entire story. Rem could FEEL a new darkness, a pervasive evil that was simply waiting to be unleashed on an unsuspecting galaxy. He would have to be ready for the days ahead. PArt of that readiness would be to find more allies for the cause. The Justice League was a widely spread, and diverse organization. With ties to Damaskia, Avalon, Vegeta, and Earth they were capable of gathering massive amounts of information on threads and such... But it wasn't enough, not yet.

He knew what he feared the Darkness was... And, gods, how he hoped he was wrong. He had sealed this universe against the power of the Unformed. Hadn't he? He... had been young and inexperienced back then, he couldn't be absolutely sure what he had done, but he was certain he had purified the entryway. But... what if there were more doors.

So, Rem went searching for allies. Beyond the Paladins and his allies, Rem needed to find more people he could trust at his back. Needed to find people with the will and the fire to stand up to any threat that showed itself, and to fight against it tooth and nail until the last breath escaped their body in a death rattle.

"Hello." Rem said as he appeared in the world of dreams, eyes scanning the figure before him... Wondering if he would be worthy... of the call.

Although Vash felt entirely accomplished for defeating Kimahla, the evil minotaur that had tortured the demon during his prison term in hell, as well as tormenting and killing that young Saiyan boy, something just did not feel quite right. The minotaur was safely locked away in his own consciousness, there was an ominous feeling of emptiness within the crimson cloaked warrior. Like there was some kind of unfinished business that he had yet to attend to, a higher purpose some would call it.

The only clear memory that he held was only his recent good deed. He had no idea what he had done in the past, but for the time being, he was one of the good guys. Searching for more clues about himself, he dug through his pockets, looking for anything he could use to piece together the tiny bits of information that he had come across.

That was when he noticed a weird gem tucked away, attached to a golden chain. He had seen it before, but this was the first time that it was glowing. It was flashing on and off like some sort of beacon. How strange, he thought. He had used it only a couple of times before to transport himself into the astral realm where he inevitably would get into a fight, but things were different this time. It was almost as if it were begging for him to use its powers.

With a deep breath, and unsure of what the results would be, he grabbed hold of the jagged stone base and his consciousness went completely white.

Like being awoken with a splash of chilled water, that was the best way to describe the sensation of regaining consciousness in the astral realm. All at once, all five of his senses returned to him in a flurry. Immediately before him was a majestic looking warrior with green skin. How strange, he had never met anyone or anything who looked like him before. He even spoke.

“Hello,” the strange looking warrior called out to him. He seemed friendly enough. Not like the other warriors he had met through these gem encounters.

“Greetings. The name is Vash,” the demon responded while he stuck out his hand in a friendly gesture.

Rem stood there, starring back at this... person, wondring what sort of lives he had lived that had led him here. The dream world was strange about power levels and energy sometimes, but Rem was usually on track when it came to sensing someones true potential and power that lay within them. He was almost surprised by the power that he felt from the guy before him. Rem knew nothing about him, but he could feel a strange... sourness. There was really no other word for it. Rem had spent over 1,000 years of his life fighting against Demons and such, and could almost smell one from a mile away.

His nose was twitching pretty fierce at the moment. Only... the sourness was sort of sweet. As if it was being balanced by some sort of inner fire. Rem really couldn't explain it, but he knew what it was. It wasn't the first time he had ever met a demon that wasn't evil, but each time it happene it was still a bit of a surprise. Demons, by and large, were evil fuckers that deserved little more than decapitation.

"You... interest me." Rem decided, not quite realizing how much of an asshole he could sound, as if speaking to some sort of lab specimin. It was just so hard to humanize demons though, for so long they were simply 'things' to be destroyed. Like bags of trash waiting on the stoop to be taken out, or trees needing to be cut for lumber.

"I am Rem, of the Justice League. Tell me... what is your opinion on tyranny and oppression?"

Vash tilted his head to one side as he looked at the green skinned warrior in the face. It would appear that this alien creature was smelling him. Yes, he almost did not believe it himself, but he was indeed being smelt by the person. Maybe it was that race’s custom? Maybe it was a sign of respect?

And then the warrior opened his mouth. He mumbled something about a League of Justice? And then asked the demon about his thoughts on evil deeds. In a blurb of open mouthed nonsense, Vash explained everything about his amnesia, his imprisonment, the minotaur and the young Saiyan, everything he knew pretty much. There was something about this guy that just seemed trust worthy. And trust him, he did.

“So, as you can see,” Vash was trying to summarize everything he just spout out without sounding too crazy. “I don’t like bad guys, and to fill this void in my life, I have been considering going out and stopping them. Putting my powers to use for the greater good and junk. I would be willing to hear more about this League of Justice sometime. Sounds like something I would be able to wrap my head around.”

This encounter in the astral realm didn’t go as they normally did, but Vash was happy to meet this man, and hoped he would be able to catch up with him in actual reality.
