The sun was high over the mountainous ravine that was mostly devoid of greenery in this section; the land having turned to a dust and dirt filled valley that ran between the high, lofty peaks. It was here that 16 stood, orange hair being moved by the wind as it blew, channeled through the valley much like a funnel.

16 stood in the dust swirling wind, black Gui beginning to show signs of wear and tear; making him internally mull over the thought of a wardrobe update. A tall, naked android was not something many people wanted to see walking down the street.

His eyes would look over the land that could almost be considered a wasteland, fascinated by how different one area of nature could be from the other, though he would let his mind ponder that for only a few minutes before lifting his gaze to the sky.

16 was waiting here; for what or why, he wasn’t certain. He knew only that this place had caught his attention, and he found it to be a relaxing place to be for now. It reminded him a good bit of the area he had been activated in. Perhaps that was why.

“Rare cotton,” Bulma said while being not too far from the android. She was wearing her hiking gear and her attention was being borrowed by this very small field of plant life within this desert of a mountain. The puff of the plant was a vibrant blue color.

“I won’t have to dye the cotton to get the color; a natural blue hue for my jacket.” Bulma sat down onto the ground, dusting it first and placing a blanket so that she did not dirty her clothes. “Amazing; I can make a few jackets with this amount of cotton.”

Normally the young woman could sense life around her; but it was no way she could sense an android. She hummed with a bright tone as she started to extract the cotton. “A new jacket…yay!”

16’s head would move to the side suddenly, his sensors picking up not only the presence of a life form, but the words as well. He had not expected to discover someone out here, but it could prove to help answer what he was curious about. 16’s body would turn slowly, before his feet would lift a few inches from the ground, his body moving through the air so as not to make noise.

16 was attempting to come up behind the figure, curious to see what it was she was doing way out here. Of course, his shadow might give him away, but he was more curious than cautious at this point. Cotton..? Was she a clothes maker? It was true that he had often seen an overabundance of clothing stores. Humans did seem to value fashion a great deal.

The large shadow casted over the gathering Bulma and her eyes widened. She had a very adept sensing ability and not being able to pick up something bothered her; they were either very fast or knew how to hide from it specifically. She reached for the sword which she didn’t have strapped to her and that made her grunt. Rolling forward and turning around, her eyes were now facing the large Android. Her eyes, which had lowered when she made that movement, had enlarged once again.

This man was huge and he towered over her by a large margin and that alone had her scared. “Uhm, may I help you,” she stood up. His size may have had her on edge, but she could read his facial features well enough to know he was not trying to harm her in anyway. She put off the urge to attack and gave off an aura of calm and serenity. That was her defense mechanism; the calmer she was meant that her enemy would read it and deciding to attack her would be only out of malice then.

If they decided to attack her in such a way the she could easily judge that person’s character as an enemy to her.

“I did not expect to find anyone out here,” his voice would echo his thoughts as he analyzed her. “It does not seem likely that a normal human would be out here on their own.”

From his analysis, it was obvious she was not simply average; despite being weaker than him, she was above the average that his data told him most humans settled at. “Are you out here for a particular reason?” This seemed like an unlikely place to come solely for plants; it was more a place for solitude or training, as he had been here debating doing himself.

“I meditate up here,” said Bulma. She relaxed completely now. “My name is Bulma Brief and I am the daughter of Dr. Brief. Nice to meet you uhm,” she froze up not know his name. She took a look around her surroundings; it had been a while since she had done any physical activity. What bothered her still though is the fact that she still has not been able to sense him. She did not want to jump to conclusions but she started to believe he was not human.

After all he was a lot larger than the average human.

“Meditate? I understand that is something many fighters do. I am Android 16. My readings indicate you are above average for a human; according to my data files.” Though how accurate those files were was up for debate. 16 was still in the process of repairing the damaged and corrupted data, but he was having little luck as of this point.

“Perhaps you would be up for a friendly competition?” This would be a good chance for him to attempt to confirm or disprove the data he could access; and perhaps he would learn a few answers to his larger questions.

That explained it. He was an android and that would elucidate the reasoning of her failing to sense his presence. Her eyes widened and her jaw unhinged and made her mouth swing open slightly as she grew in excitement. She slid over to him and started a classic detail scanning of him; spinning all about his person and analyzing him. ” Oh wow!! You are an Android!?”

She was completely lost in her amazement. She placed her hands on his back and then dragged her fingers across his frame from his back and up to his chest. She felt the hard metallic skin and she squealed. ”Oh my god! I never thought I’d see such a well-built droid out here in the mountains! Who is your creator? What processing speeds are you running on? Do you have the XPM or 4DDR Ram and how much of it did he give to you? Hm, I’d probably judge by the fluidity of your motions that you have at-least 2 or 3 exabytes on your processors speed.”

She rambled on for a moment but she caught wind of him asking her to a friendly spar. How could she refuse this? Even though she did not have her sword on her, she wanted to see how well in combat he was now. ”Sure. Let me drop this bag.” Bulma slithers out of the straps and allowed the bag to hit the ground. She quickly dropped down to her fighting stance; it was strange.

She held one arm in-front of her with the index and middle fingers pointing up straight and her other arm was behind her back as if she was holding a sword up into the air against her back. ”You have the first move, 16! She smiled wide with excitement.

This was a reaction 16 had not been anticipating; the excitement she showed was almost contagious. The knowledge she displayed was also a welcome; and he had to resist the urge to begin questioning her on where she had gained her knowledge. He would stand still as she examined his frame, eyes silently watching her.

“I am unsure of my specifications. Many of my files are damaged at this time,” as his eyes watching her as she seemed lost in her own ramblings for a few moments, and then her acceptance of his request. He would watch as she took her stance, analyzing and storing the excitement she was showing. This was already giving him some of the desired data he was after; his legs would carry him a few steps back as he prepared. So some humans did enjoy fighting, at least to an extent. It was an interesting note to make.

16 would wait a few moments to be sure she was ready; two quick steps forward, his leg lifting into the air, cutting through the air as the kick went for her side. A basic start to this session; a test to gauge her a bit so he didn’t accidentally cripple her. He was a machine and, by all standards, she seemed like a small human female.

It was hard for her body to adjust to him; she normally used her ability to sense to feel the opponent’s body and find the best way to react. She had to evade completely. She used a move she would call the Irregular Step, but it was commonly referred to as a Speed Teleport in other cases. He kicked right through her. What she had truly did was roll her upper body underneath his kick and put herself back into the same position she was in before. The momentous wind that followed the kick tickled her face and blew her hair to the sides.

She giggled as she analyzed him just from that one kick; it was true that he must have had some damages. She winced for a moment and held the back of her head; his kick scrubbed against it roughly. “Ouch.” Instead of rubbing her head she swung her hand, the one behind her back, around in a wide motion. Her fingers were the same position; index and middle being the only outstretched ones. The attack was very weak, and simply because she had no type of real damage attacks this one was going to pretty much do nothing.

For a brief moment before he registered there had been no impact; 16 was worried he had just kicked her in half, though his systems would quickly register her movement. She was fast; and with his leg just now returning to its position, he wouldn’t have time to move back with his current speed. 16 would choose instead to block; his left arm moving down to intercept, about mid-length up from his wrist meeting her wrist.

That was an interesting technique, but it seemed more suited to wielding a weapon. “Are you trained in weapons instead of hand to hand?” That would explain the attack; had there been a weapon in her hand, her entire execution would have been rather damaging to him. His question wouldn’t interrupt the little match, though, as his right arm crossed over his left in an attempt to grasp her wrist, attempting a throw send her down onto her back at his side.

“Ah, yes I am a swordsman,” Bulma said, but she had to try and move out the way of his grab. She had to judge which arm was trying to touch her. She made the wrong judgment call and her wrist was grabbed. Once grabbed it was nothing she could really do to counter; he was large and she was small. Rising to the air she squealed as she was slammed to the ground.

It didn’t hurt her and that told her that he was quite the gentle giant. “Okay I think I had enough; you win robo-man,” Bulma said while helping herself up and patting the dust off of her clothes. “That was pretty good. I can tell where you might need some upgrading done at just by all of that. Would you like to come to my home? I can see about fixing some of those problems for you.”

So 16 had assumed correctly. It would be interesting to see what this girl could do with a weapon; so far she seemed quite lively, and that was what he was interested in. This woman could be a good source of data that he was seeking. Her offer to check into his damaged files was also something 16 couldn’t turn away from; his personal attempts at repairing them having resulted in very little progress.

“You know about robotics as well? That seems as if it should feel unexpected. If you think you can help, then I accept your invitation. I do not believe I have anything to hide.” With that said, 16 would follow her lead.
