The Sayian Detective

Zuccil needed sometime in his own mind for a while, so he retreated to the garage and got out his Gem of Telepathy that he'd bought from the strangely perverted merchant who was oggling his sister. He sat down with the gem and concentrated hard, and the gem began to glow and float. He closed his eyes, and he felt as though he was suddenly being pulled upward by his navel. Next thing he knew, he was standing in a vast expanse of darkness, where his scouter was completely useless to him. Before him, however, stood a very familiar face. The head band, the armor colors, and the cross scar on his cheek were all dead giveaways. Zuccil approached, smiling confidently, up to Bardock. It had been a while since he'd seen his former fellow student of King Vegeta. "Bardock, we've missed you back home." he said slyly. "Care to have a little fun?" Zuccil stood back in his usual, closed-off stance. His eyes met Bardock's and he knew, in his heart of hearts, that his old friend would accept the challenge. But what kind of a challenge Bardock would present to him was another question entirely. Zuccil closed his eyes and let that notion sink in for a moment, the idea that Bardock was probably about to hang him out to dry. When he opened his eyes again, he wanted to fight Bardock more than ever! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WC: 237 |

The veteran saiyan pulled adopted a comfortable position in his out of the way corner in old Clancy’s rude hut and pulled his mind bending gem from within its pouch. Time to kill some boredom again, he grumbled inwardly, worrying at how comfortable he had gotten with using this gem that so easily send his mind so far from his body. If someone were to break it while his body was vacant, would he be able to come back? He wasn’t really sure, but, after a minor pause, boredom killing won out and he allowed the gem to carry him to a more interesting venue. Blackness. Nothing but blackness for as far as the eye could see. There was no indication that anything beyond himself existed within this realm beyond some sort of hard floor that produced echoing thuds as he tapped it with his heel. Thankfully, another warrior arrived. And wouldn’t you know it, the warrior was Zuccil, another saiyan whom Bardock had undertaken training with the King alongside. This would be very interesting to see how far the youth had advanced. “I hope you can keep up,” the veteran answered playfully as he began his opening attack. He started simply, breathing in deeply as he complete his last syllable before his diaphragm contracted hard, expelling a wall of flame towards the youth. WC: 224 |

At first, Zuccil found himself shocked by the blast, only to jump back, flying backward as fast as he could until he could produce his own breath of flames. He came screeching to a halt as the two pillars of fire moved to collide. As he watched, Zuccil was already trying to plan out his next move in his mind, but he knew he was pretty completely out-matched without the aid of the full moon, and even if he had it, so did Bardock. Zuccil was never sure why, but some how the impossible odds made the battles and spars all the more fun for him. 'This guys probably gonna clean my clock in here, but it'll be worth it in the long run.' Zuccil thought to himself. 'The more of these I get into, the more power I can gain, and eventually I might even catch up to Bardock." Zuccil powered up and put every ounce of his might into his fire breath's final approach to collide with Bardock's. Even with that boost, however, he was already expecting Bardock's attack to over take him, but at least now he had a second or two to look at any other options he might have. His best and only option at the moment was to survive. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WC: 215 TWC: 452 |

The youth responded with the same technique, what where the odds. Bardock stopped pouring power into it, allowing it to be dissipated by Zuccil’s own flame. “Not bad,” the veteran called before he moved. His afterimage remained momentarily as he reappeared directly in front of the youth in a half crouch that allowed him to aim an uppercut into Zuccil’s stomach. His powerfully muscled leg’s flexed, sending his body now moving away from his opponent as his arms pumped forward, first one then the other, unleashing six golden ki orbs towards the youth. The scarred saiyan paused and fell into a defensive posture to see how his opponent would deal with this new threat. WC: 114 / 338 |

Zuccil's eyes snapped open wide as his flame just blew right through Bardock's chest like he was a ghost. Then his mouth flew wide open and he gagged as he felt Bardock's fist digging into his stomach. Before the pain was even gone, so was Bardock, now suddenly a good twenty yards away. Zuccil gasped fro breath as he held his stomach, watching as Bardock unleashed a volley of ki blasts toward him. "No way!" was all Zuccil could croak out, moving his arms in front of his face to block attack. The first one hit his chest and sent him flying backward, the next two whizzing past his ears. Zuccil managed to dodge the last three, but only barely, and it took all his concentration. He came skidding to a halt, breathing heavily and trying to regain his composure, but still smiling as blood dripped down his chin. "Yea, I knew sparring with Bardock was gonna hurt..." He took a deep breath and charged his opponent, charging ki into his fist. At the last moment he jumped up high into the air, and raised both hands above his head, balling them together. As he came down on Bardock's head, he swung downward as hard as he could. Then he held his arms out forward, a white ball of ki flickering to life in his cupped hands. With a loud roar, he released the energy wave, aimed right for Bardock's chest. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WC: 241 TWC: 693 |

The scarred warrior’s attacks had their desired effect. The youth had improved since their last encounter, but not as my as Bardock had. Now, finally, the youth lunged forward to make his assault upon the veteran. Bardock waited patiently for the youth to close, telegraphing his hammer blow, and raised his arms in an X above his head to catch the blow. Zuccil then fired off a small, white beam of ki towards the veteran’s center of seen mass. Again Bardock simply waited, allowing the wave to strike his armour. The beam pushed him backward, his feet squeaking as the slide against the invisible floor. He held his breathe for a moment, so as not to show it had been knocked from his lungs, before tightly controlling his breathing until it was back to normal. “My turn,” he grinned at the youth as he raised his right palm towards Zuccil, “let’s see what you can do with this.” A large ball of dark blue ki crackled into life and inch in front of his palm, held in place by an invisible ki link which he now severed, sending the ki rocketing towards the youth. "WOAH!!!" Zuccil yelped as he fired another ki wave at the ground, rocketing him upward, but blast caught his beam, and the resulting explosion caught Zuccil and carried him higher than he meant to go. Apparently this place had an invisible ceiling as well, which Zuccil was crushed against by force of the blast. When the light and energy faded away, Zuccil's body fell limp to ground with a loud smack. Zuccil groaned as he pulled his arms in and struggled up onto his knees. "Oh wow...that really hurt..." Zuccil heaved himself with every last vestige of his strength to his feet, smiling gleefully as blood trickled down from his own, re-opened scar over his eye. The shoulder plate of his armor was completely shattered, bits of shrapnel were caught in his shoulder, which was completely dislocated. Zuccil reached over with his working arm, holding his shoulder up and trying to keep pressure against the bleeding. "You know, I'm obviously loosing here, but I've never had more fun in my entire life." he croaked, his voice raspy but full of joy. "I'm willing to keep taking a beating if you wanna keep going..." Zuccil limped forward slowly, charging ki into the hand of his working arm. His scouter fell off, the display completely shattered. His tail twitched like it was broken in several places. Zuccil just hoped he could get close enough without Bardock catching on to his ploy. "What do you say, Bardock?" he groaned. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WC: 246 TWC: 939 |

Zuccil’s form was shattered but still he came forward. Finally, another true saiyan is born, the veteran thought truly admiring the youth’s grit. “I’m more than happy to keep going,” the scarred warrior answered, “just don’t die on me.” With that he launched forward at the battered saiyan, aiming a straight right towards the youth’s left cheekbone. He then followed through, pushing passed Zuccils position before rotating and firing off a thin translucent red beam of ki designed more to slow the youth rather than injure. Coming to a halt the same distance, but on the opposite side, from Zuccil as he had begun, he decided to try a new one. Both hands raised above his head, a frosty light blue ki developed between his palms before this arms uncoiled. Launching the frosty ki, targeted to freeze the determined little saiyan in place. Zuccil smiled when Bardock accepted his terms. He saw the first strike coming, and despite feeling the corner of his jaw bone crunching under his friend's knuckles, he took the full brunt of it in order to drive his own ki charged fist into Bardock's jaw. The next part of the attack Zuccil wasn't nearly as prepared for. The next attack Bardock hit him with nearly stopped him in his tracks, and it took all his might to even attempt to dodge the ki driven blizzard that followed it. His foot got caught in the wave, leaving him frozen to the invisible floor. He managed to kick himself free, but still felt sluggish from the effects of the first ki attack. He tried to power up, but it only recharged his ki a little bit, it did nothing to alleviate the sluggish feeling. He knew he was running out of thinking time, so he looked at Bardock and decided to go all out. He began firing ki waves as fast as he could. He wasn't even sure of where he was he was firing most of the time, he just kept firing in random directions until he was too exhausted to keep going. Once he stopped, he stood there breathing heavily, waiting for the smoke to clear. He wondered if even a single wave had hit Bardock. And if one or two did, did they have any kind of impact that might bring Zuccil back to some kind of advantageous status? Or did he just waste the last of his energy on a temper tantrum? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WC: 265 TWC: 1,204 |

Blood trickled down the scarred saiyan’s jaw from Zuccil’s sneaky, though he had suspected, blast punch. The youth wasn’t done yet either. He began firing wave after wave at the veteran. Bardock dodged, ducked, dipped, dived and…… dodged, but the sheer amount of ki eventually overcame his evasive efforts, leaving him standing with his arms wrapped protectively about himself as his armour and skin smoked there protest at having been put through the assault. Wiping the blood away from his chin with the back of a fist he spoke, “You’ve got potential my young friend. Keep training and you’ll get there. I’ll be back on Vegeta next week. Be ready.” The scarred saiyan let himself fade from the astral realm, handing his young protégé a hard earned victory. WC: 128 / 803 |

Zuccil stood smiling as he watched Bardock faded into the darkness. As his own gem connection was severed, and he began wandering through the recesses of his own mind, he felt the pain of the battle melt away. His scar wasn't bleeding anymore, his body no longer ached, and he became aware that his armor and scouter were once again in one piece. He opened his eyes and he saw his untarnished reflection. He smirked as he began to feel the effects of the spar. He stood feeling even more powerful than he had when he'd sat down. He couldn't wait for the chance to do it again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WC: 108 TWC: 1,312 |
