The recent success against the demons on Mount Baldy had improved the morale of the team when they returned from their assignment, successful in their mission to gather and empower the oddly shaped rocks. Capsule Corporation had been quick to whisk them away for study and possible application, but not before they gave the team samples of the sun stones. While such small pieces were not as potent as the whole, they were certainly powerful in their own right to be useful in combat. Regardless, Rubic was headed towards an open field outside of Satan City, where he was to meet the legendary martial arts champion and master, Hercule Satan. The man, always on a quest to improve his capabilities, was always thrilled to face off against Rubic, it seemed, so the android had little reason to turn the man down. Rubic was similarly always on a journey and mission to improve his own capabilities, and were Rubic capable of sympathizing with anything, really, he would probably appreciate the effort that Hercule went through to improve his capabilities. Of course, with organics, they had to work hard on their physical bodies, where as with Rubic, everything came down to minor adjustments to his body, making small adjustments here and there, and coupled with improvements to his components and armor, in order to achieve ultimate efficiency and effectiveness in combat scenarios. Indeed, most adjustments were done and loaded into a saved setting profile during his recharge cycles in order to ensure that the data would be ready for use just before a battle began. Sometimes, however, Rubic worked diligently on his ‘default’ fighting programs and subroutines in order to do a generic improvement on his capabilities. Such instances were long and involved processes, but as Rubic had soon discovered, they were very much worth the effort. Soon enough, Rubic found himself arriving at the area the two had agreed upon, the Martial Arts master Hercule quickly approaching the area as well. Hercule had a way of being punctual, making him a bit more predictable and efficient in his methods. If Rubic was capable of respect, he would definitely appreciate the lengths Hercule went to make sure he was on time for virtually anything and everything. Such an efficient use of time was always what Rubic aimed for. Upon landing, Rubic booted up several of his training programs within his body, limiting his power levels. WC: 403 |

As soon as Hercule touched down, Rubic was landing right after. He was right on time as usual. The robot's precision never ceased to amaze the brown clad master. After a few limbering stretches Hercule secured his weighted items before slipping in to the sleek wolf stance. That was the Champ's favorite stance,or at least the one he felt most comfortable in. His base was wide and strong and his hands were perky and cocked and prepared to either defend or attack. And, since last session entailed offensive ki attacks and form, Satan felt that a run through on his defensive strategies would be beneficial in so many ways. "Alright Rubic, thanks for coming. Today I would like to explore the defensive side of battle and I know you are just the Bot capable of helping. So, whenever you are ready, sock it to me," he said, hoping that the Droid didn't take that as a welcome to come full force. That would be scary. WC: 166 |

The android acknowledged the world class martial arts champion’s request, the robot easily slipping into a combat stance of his own. Rivaling the Wolf like stance, Rubic took up one that was similar to a prowling tiger, a stance taught to him by King Kai. It was likely that Hercule had learned his own stance from Master Roshi, but without further information, he could not confirm it. Still, it did not matter what his stance was…only that he had the capabilities to repel Rubic’s attacks. Without further preamble, the android rushed forward, his systems hampered by the safeties in place. Hercule was here to train, not to fight, so significant limiters on Rubic’s capabilities and programming were in place, helping to prevent unnecessary injury and especially death. In fact, Rubic could not make a full powered strike on anywhere on Hercule’s body that had a ten percent or higher chance of killing him. As such, Rubic’s attacks would be at a significantly lower level of power and strength, but what power his blows did have would at least teach the martial arts champion how to defend himself. With a whine of servos and hydraulics, Rubic raised a fist and launched it towards his ‘opponent’, a relatively easy blow aimed squarely at Hercule Satan’s chest. This would be an introduction to properly defending against attacks, so Rubic figured it would be efficient to start with the basics. WC: 236 Rubic Total: 639 |

Hercule, poised in his fighting stance, watched Rubic's movements intently as he walked within fighting range. After that he heard a winding mechanical sound and a few other silent noises. The Champ noted the sounds in his mind. Since there was no way to sense the synthetics power level, he thought it might be useful information maybe further on down the road. Then, he struck! The robot quickly through a stiff jab right at Herc's chest. The Champ instinctively raised both of his arms and crossed them and intercepted the blow just before it reached his muscular pectorals. Mister Satan realized that it was a rather simple start, but he figured the mechanical fighter would gradually increase the difficult. It was good to warm yourself up and Her was sure the calculating ally was doing just that. Resetting from the successful block, Hercule smiled as he said, "Nice one Rubes! Send me another." 153/319 |

The heroic champion of martial arts quickly crossed his arms over his chest, intercepting the attack. Of course, had it been at full power, he likely would have been sent sailing backward from the sheer force of it, but as Rubic was only operating at a fraction of his normal operating parameters, the blow was far more reasonable to try and absorb, the champion’s feet only digging in a few centimeters into the ground upon which they stood. As usual however, Rubic was always observing and analyzing, looking for weaknesses in the defenses of his opponent. Even during this benign training session, Rubic was calculating how to effectively thwart Hercule’s defenses, more to teach him what to look for than anything else, though the possibility that Hercule may, one day, become a threat to Earth’s security never fell below five percent. It was a very remote and small chance, but so long as it was greater than zero, it had to be accounted for. Any data gathered here could very likely be useful in the future in one way or another. Hence why Rubic collected as much data as he could in every training and combat scenario. One could never be too well prepared for the situation. Once Hercule was prepared for the next attack, Rubic quckly spun in place, lashing out with a vicious kick towards Hercule’s side, seeking to explore more of the legendary martial arts master’s reflexes and defenses. Only through training could one improve and learn. Regardless of the success of that attack, Rubic pushed up with his opposite leg, essentially hopping in place. His previous kicking foot moving to the ground while his opposite foot moved to lash out at Hercule’s opposite side. Rubic wanted to see just how fast Hercule had become. The blows were not particularly powerful or dangerous, of course, but they were quick. In essence, Rubic was testing Hercule’s capabilities in moving and blocking, attempting to analyze just how the martial arts champion blocked in order to pass on critiques. Merely moving a muscle by one centimeter could mean all the difference between a broken arm, a broken wrist, a broken finger, or nothing broken altogether. WC: 365 Rubic Total: 1004 |
