The gem radiated brightly, and Kularian grasped at it, somewhere between being asleep and awake; he really wasn’t sure right now. In fact, he didn’t even know if the gem glowing was real or some part of his dream. However, as he grasped it, and the world around him faded to black, he was pretty sure that he’d fallen asleep.

Of course, that was until the dream he’d been having came to be realized, showing itself all around them.

A forest was aflame, extending for miles (and probably infinitely) in all directions, with the flames burning up the trees around him, or dancing the flames in the treetops above. “Well considering I’m here, I’m probably not dreaming anymore, if it’s this vivid,” he grunted, before flipping backwards onto his hands and performing a tiger bend, feeling the muscles in his entire body stretching at the over-zealous movement before he pushed off, landing back on his feet before he glanced up at the flames.

“Well, whoever it is, I hope they like fire,” he spoke, constantly turning, looking all around him to see who may appear. While he had no qualms about fighting anyone, the fact that there were some who were decidedly less-wholesome than others… it never hurt to watch your back.

Tapion found himself immediately rushing to a new battlefield after his encounter with Ayakon. As his mind moved, he could feel his body refreshing with energy, ready for more combat. Still, it was odd that the realm was not letting him go like usual. What could possibly be so important as to send him there immediately?

After a short moment, he dropped into the middle of a forest of burning trees. Smoke filled the canopies like low-lying black clouds and ash fell to the mossy earth like snow. For a brief moment, he attempted to peer through the contrasting shadows with forest green eyes, but to no avail. After a second, his irises began to fill with gold, and a slight feral look came upon his face.

Better. Haven't used these eyes for a long time, he mused to himself as he stood up and took a better look around. Yet, none of his physical senses picked up on what his spirit found. With a step worthy of a ranger, the ashen warrior cut through the forest, dodging fire and branch before he entered a small grove. There, in the center, was someone else he had not seen for a few months.

"Oh, it is Kularian. I had wondered while I could feel a bestial power and smell a kindred feral on these burning winds. So, what brought about the scenery," he asked, walking calmly out of the tree line and into full view. Still, though, he kept his lupine eyes apparent, watching for the sudden movements he knew Kularian to be capable of.

The warrior felt another coming through the forest, and he grunted as he felt the power approaching. He clenched a hand into a fist as he looked over through the trees as he saw a form moving through the trees. “Tapion,” he responded, before he glanced around at the trees around him, and gave a light shrug. “Was having a nightmare when the gem decided to wake me up. Apparently this affected my brain,” he spoke, before he looked at the other warrior, seeing the odd look in his eyes. “But it’s probably mostly cosmetic… I haven’t tried to touch the flames though.”

He knew, from experience, that Tapion was always ready for a fight, and the warrior didn’t do much more in the way of banter as he slid into a fighting stance. “Let’s have some fun!” he roared out, before he performed a spinning backfist at a nearby tree, sending it flying forward at the other warrior. He moved, flickering to the side before he reached another tree and then spun, slamming a foot into the next tree and sending it flying out at the Konat. “Unconventional warfare!” he called out, a grin on his face. By now… Tapion was almost an ally of his. The combat was almost… light hearted.

"A nightmare? That's different. Would think that bad dreams would avoid someone as punch-happy as yourself, Kularian," he responded, that faint smile a little wry in its appearance. Looking around at the fires, he did think it could be fake, but the environment had been fairly malleable every time he had come to the realm. One minute those flames could be false, and the next he'd find himself with a whole body case of hot foot.

Suddenly, a tree came rushing at him, flying through the air with the greatest of ease. A look of surprise came onto his face before he grinned, hands glowing with lunar power. Tapion shot forward, palm strike shattering the entire tree into splinters. Another was hot on its heels, and he spun, leg enwrapped in psychokinetic power as he smashed it off to the side. The spin pushed him back into his forward momentum, and he rushed right into close combat with the Lismian.

One hand briefly dragged along the ground as he stepped in, gathering up forest earth that he quickly hardened into mites of stone with telekinesis and threw into his opponent's face. Directly after, one palm came in under the raised arm, aimed to blast Kular's stomach with a bouncing strike. Gathering his mind's strength around him, the lone hero turned it into a physical force and threw it out from his body as he brought both arms back, that grin still on his face.

Kularian gave a slight grunt as the trees that he'd been so excited about working were sent spiraling away from Tapion in a storm of splinters. “You're jacking up my jive, man,” he growled, before he readied himself for Tapion's counter attack. The first step looked harmless enough, with just a smattering of rocks, but as they connected, the male let out a growling hiss as they stung a whole lot worse than he'd thought they would. Then the second blow came to his abdomen as he hardened his muscles against the initial impact, then relaxed them as the rest of the force of the blow sent him backwards as Tapion's telekinetic force radiated outwards, shattering many of the burning trees.

“I'm going to need to learn how you do that,” he spoke with a grunt, rubbing his abdomen once before he let his aura tinge with red for a brief second before it exploded outwards, rippling across the ground as several of the flames around him blew out. “All right... round two!” he roared out as he leapt forward, actually running on all fours for a moment before he flipped through the air, aiming heel drop down on Tapion before, whether it was blocked or not, flipping backwards on the ground and coating his right arm in ki as he launched himself forward.

The attack would be followed by his left arm in a similar manner of attack, aiming at the man's stomach as well, his frightful strength amplified several times over by the power that was held within him, and thusly by the Kaio-Ken attack.

Flesh met flesh as his strikes landed true. The Lismian was knocked back, and Tapion's smile shined among the flames, changing from a grin to a faint expression upon his face. Watching his opponent, he could see that touch of red before Kularian's aura roared into life.

Definitely more of the Kaio-ken attack. I'm going to have to step up my game if I want to hold my ground against such strength, he mused briefly. Almost immediately, the wolf was upon him, leg descending down onto the crossed arms he hastily threw up in defense. Below, the forest floor cratered as the ashen warrior grunted in pain.

His strength is far greater than my own right now! he thought, surprise evident on his face. A fist of glowing power came bursting in from the Lismian, and only by the barest of distance did he dance around it. The sheer force from the attack, though, rippled and caused Tapion to grimace, and soon he grimaced again as he danced around the second fist. The power behind those fists, what had Kularian been doing to achieve such a massive strength?

"Wow, I definitely cannot afford to allow those to hit me. If you were faster, you'd be quite a match for me. I think I better let go a little just to compensate the difference," the lone hero stated, his aura rippling into life. With a burst, air blasted everywhere, the fires going out for miles as he unleashed his power to its highest point.

Suddenly, Tapion's form disappeared. It seemed he reappeared behind Kularian, but a bright lunar glow appeared rushing in towards the abdomen. As it moved, it appeared that the image of a new moon flashed on the Lismian's stomach, as if the light of his attack made such a picture.

The wolf grinned widely as his attacks nearly caught the other. He was getting faster; there had been a time where Tapion, even in his base form, was too fast for Kularian to ever see. But now... now he was getting to a point where he was able to keep up with the other. At least while Tapion was in his base form, anyway, but every step that Kularian drew closer to realizing Tapion's potential was something that Kularian quested after. The lone hero was one that Kular aspired to defeat, not out of any sort of anger, or rage, which was unusual for him, but for the sheer fact that this was someone he admired.

“If I was faster?” Kularian asked as his attack missed his opponent by inches. That let him grin. “Then I'll try to focus on speed then. See if I can't learn how to catch you!” he roared out, before he heard that Tapion was going to cut loose a bit. The wolf grinned, and readied himself for whatever onslaught would come after the other managed to ascend to his powered up form. Then, the lone hero seemingly vanished from sight, and Kular gave a confused look around, not sure where his opponent had gone... and then almost as an after thought, a rush of lunar energy shot at the wolven fighter.

He hissed as the attack came in, and as his abdomen was already sore from the previous attack, he tried to move, but the speed would not have it as he was only able to manage a block, the blow hesitating for a moment before Kular blew backwards past Tapion, hitting the ground and rolling several times before coming to a stop. In his wake, several trees, no longer burning due to Tapion's powering up, lay on the ground, torn up by the roots, and the warrior struggled to get back to his feet. He was never one to stay down, it seemed like. “C'mon...that...can't be all your power,” he said with a slight grin, before spitting up some bloodied saliva.

His right arm extended perpendicular to his body, ki growing within it, and he let that power flow though him as the flames of ki seemed to build around his hand. “I'm not down and out yet!” he roared, despite the fact that his body shuddered, his legs quaking alone before he burnt more of his vitality into his kaioken technique. “TIMES TWENTY!” he roared, firing himself forward, arm pulled back as he thrust it at Tapion, knowing full well he wouldn't be able to land a killing blow, even if he killed himself with KaioKen, on this foe.

The full force of his attack had not hit the Lismian, and that was just the simple truth. Kularian was getting stronger at an impressive rate, and it was showing with the block that had been managed. Before, such an attack would have flattened his opponent.

Hmm, he is getting closer to my secondary limits. If he keeps this rate of improvement up, soon Kularian will be ready to face me at my strongest, Tapion mused, readying himself for the inevitable counterattack from his lupine foe. He saw the Lismian rise up, coughing up blood from his enhanced strike.

"Yes, this is only approximately fifty percent of what I'm capable of, Kularian," he replied, watching closely as his opponent's ki made a sharp rise in strength. Both beast and power mixed together before his eyes, and a scarlet streak rushed towards the ashen warrior at speeds equal to his own. With only a split second to react, his lunar aura tinged scarlet like a blood moon once again, his palm blasting forward with incredible power. Claws sank through armor and then flesh as the gauntlet came crashing down towards the Lismian's face.

Blasting back from the ensuing explosion of power, Tapion's body skipped along the ground for a good few dozen meters before he caught himself. Slowly, he rose up, blood flowing from the wound on his left shoulder. Those claws had really gotten in deep, and he could feel the life leaving his arm.

"Impressive. Truly impressive. He managed a severe blow against me," the lone hero said softly, his faint smile tinged with both pain and wonder. Kularian was growing, and maybe one day would be able to deliver him a truly wondrous battle.

The attack struck Tapion, the rush of actually connecting with an attack causing his eyes to go wide as feeling suddenly left his body. No, it wasn't that. The warrior looked down, and saw that his opponent's fist was buried deep into his stomach. “Tch...” Kularian growled, before the explosion of power sent him sailing backwards, and he slammed into several trees, shattering through them before he finally came to a rolling stop.

He heard his foe moving, but Kularian's body was weak, empty. He hissed, trying to force himself up to his feet, but failed. “Tapion... this fight is yours... as usual.” He coughed a few times, waiting for the pain to subside before he spat up more blood than saliva. “But I caught you this time, Tapion...” he growled out, before he forced himself to sit up. “I'm just going to keep getting better...” He used a tree for support, his body barely able to continue standing... but he wasn't going to stop. “And one day... I'll go toe to toe with you at your full power...” he spoke, taking a single step forward before collapsing, and then vanishing from sight.
