It was spar time again.

The Konatsu youth could feel it in his bones. He was itching for some more training. He recalled how fun it had been to fight a stranger and to actually find something in common with them. Minosha only battled against one or two people on a regular basis, and decided he needed the test the waters a little more. He needed to see what other warriors were capable of, and just how well he stacked in the grand scheme of the universe. Time and time again, the alien warrior encountered many who were superior to him in skill, and he wouldn’t learn unless he saw all that the many races had to offer. And maybe, just maybe, he would come across a fellow fighter that he actually stood a chance against. That would be a nice boost to his confidence.

Plus, it would be nice to have someone to talk to.

He rolled the azure jewel, the link to the astral realm, eagerly between his palms, and focused on its mystical dimensional powers. Minosha called out to someone, anyone who was willing to heed his summons. He tried to keep it vague, so as not to accidentally reach someone specific that he already knew.

As the haze overtook him, he retrained his concentration to the development of their environment. The little warrior wanted it to be inviting, yet at the same time have a sense of seriousness to their purpose. A coliseum was a little too overbearing, but a beach seemed a little too informal. He mentally winced as he remembered what happened the last time he’d been on a beach with a sparring partner; he’d been accused of staring at her derriere. He wanted to avoid that if possible in the future.

Finally, he settled on a nice, healthy grassy field with gently rolling slopes. The sky above was a beautiful, brilliant blue, with a couple of fluffy white clouds lazily strolling along. That was neutral enough, wasn’t it? It signified an open battle area, yet wasn’t too intimidating. He dressed himself in his usual battle gear, with his power pole neatly strapped to his back. One could never be too careful if he ran into somebody on the overzealous side.

Minosha took a few steps forward to observe his handiwork, and stumbled, nearly face-planting over a huge rock wedged in the soft dirt. He picked it up and tossed it.

“Whoops. I better be more careful. Wouldn’t want to be tripping right before a match,” he said to himself.

He placed his hands on his hips, a smile forming on his face. This was going to be a great spar. He could feel it.

A sigh escaped the woman's lips as she rubbed her eyes free of the water running down from her hair and forehead. As strange as it was to other races, nothing felt so relaxing and soothing than a hot shower, especially on this sun-forsaken planet known as Mortoseth. The planet was either blazingly hot on one side or prohibitively cold on the other, resulting in the green-skinned woman to absolutely loathe her time here. That and the millions of mushrooms and fungi that seemed to call this planet home, the spores alone causing her to sneeze every once in awhile. It had not been enough to make her sick yet, but she attributed that to her inherent quirk of bathing more regularly than other races. Then again, their senses of smell seemed to be far worse than her own...if they knew just how badly they smelled to her, they might figure on bathing more often as well. The pores needed to breath properly anyway, so it was also out of quasi-necessity.

Thankfully, Atla was out on patrol, wishing his friends farewell, leaving Scorria in a modicum of privacy. After quenching the stream of warm water that ran down her body, she made sure to carefully dry herself with a rather thick, but small towel. This same towel was pressed against her person, covering her chest, hips, and belly, her damp hair clinging to her shoulders and back as she exited the shower room, sighing contently for the moment as she walked to her temporary quarters on Atla's ship. If nothing else, his ship was at least comfortable, if a little spartan in nature. Even if the towel was not large enough to wrap around her person, she did not have to worry about prying eyes seeking to see what lay beneath her dignity.

Something, however, became quite amiss. As Scorria approached her room, her thigh accidentally brushed against a desk, causing the articles of clothing—namely her uniform and armor—to fall off of them. One of those articles happened to also be her gem of telepathy, a powerful item that allowed her to fight against warriors from far off planets. A last gift from her home world. She felt the gem tough her bare foot, her eyes glazing over as if focusing on something a million miles away. Apparently, the gem had activated and demanded her presence upon a battlefield.

And thus, she arrived at said battlefield, wearing only that thick towel that only covered the front of her body, leaving the sides of her hips, her back, and her lovely legs quite exposed. She was confused for a moment, her state of dress forgotten as she looked upon a calm meadow. She took an absent minded step forward, unsure of where she was. Unfortunately, she tripped over a small hole in the ground, possibly where a rock had been. With a yelp, she fell over on top of...something. Or someone. Her mind did not fully register what she had landed on, only that she fell.

After a quick moment to shake her head, her eyes went wide. She slowly looked down, noticing she had landed on someone, noticing her towel was no longer covering her and, indeed, she was no longer holding it in her hand. She looked over slowly to where it had landed on the ground, the gentle wind threatening to carry it away. She swallowed gently, her face burning from embarressment and surprise as she looked back down at whom she had landed on before pulling back, her arms quickly crossing over her chest, speechless.

The boy tapped his foot impatiently. Whoever was arriving was sure taking their time. Maybe it hadn’t worked. Maybe he’d messed up somewhere. This had never happened to him before. Then, a figure materialized into the realm. The Konatsu youth didn’t get much of a chance to take stock of his opponent, as he raised a hand in greeting as soon as he saw them.

“Hello, I’m Mino—mppffh!”

He hadn’t even the chance to complete his sentence as the stranger tripped and fell right on top of him. His back slammed into the ground, disorienting him for a second. Something soft was squishing against his face, and when he could open his eyes he took a look to discover just who it was that had clumsily tumbled all over him. Minosha’s turquoise eyes popped the split second they focused. She. It was decidedly a she. If his mouth hadn’t been smothered, he might have let out a cry. Instead, he uttered a panicked whimper from within his throat. The alien youth felt like a caged beast, trapped underneath this strange woman. But at the same time, it also had the sensation of being warm and fuzzy. Then again, that could have just been his face, where the blood rushed to surface and caused a beet red blush. It felt like an eternity until she finally had the sense to get off of him.

Minosha lay paralyzed for a moment, letting his gaze roll up and down the woman whose attempt to cover her exposed chest did absolutely nothing for... ahem... elsewhere. He couldn’t help but stare in horror at her arms and what they now blocked from sight. They had been... his face had been...

He finally could contain it no longer. A wail erupted from his mouth as if he’d been burned. He crawled away like a frightened rabbit until he was standing, and then pulled the collar of his shirt over his head to hide it shamefully. The youth ran around blindly in circles like a buffoon. He tripped and fell on his face, probably on the rock he had tossed away, and then just got back up and kept running.

“I’m so sooorrryyyyyyy!” he cried.

After a moment, he calmed down, taking deep breaths and trying not to hyperventilate. He held up a hand and summoned some appropriate clothing for the woman to wear; the baggiest, most solid pieces of clothing he could think of. A large black tunic and a pair of black shorts appeared near her feet.

With his shirt still covering his head, the Konatsu faced where he guessed she’d be standing and he gestured at the ground to indicate the clothes. He spoke, his voice trembling nervously through an attempt to be calm that just made his words sound odd and scripted. The cloth of his shirt somewhat muffled his greeting.

“Hello. My name is Minosha. I’m terribly sorry for my inappropriateness. I have created a hopefully suitable outfit for you to wear. I will be your opponent for this sparring match and I would be very appreciative if we could begin at your earliest convenience.”

Scorria was silent for a long moment, looking down at the short, young looking alien look up and down her body. He did not possess that hungry, lustful look in his eye, but rather, the kind of surprised look one might have seeing a strange creature for the first time. Still, she had to admit, a strange kind of shiver ran down her spine as he looked upon her bared body, though the feeling was far from powerful enough to just let him get an eyeful just yet. Of course, landing atop of him, her chest against his face, was not exactly a great way of preserving one’s dignity. However, just as she tried to reach for her only source of clothing, the discarded towel, it blew away in the breeze, causing Scorria to blush a little bit more and blush a bit more as well. Of course, her face did not feel nearly as hot as the alien boy’s looked.

And that’s when it started. He let out some kind of loud wailing, as if he had suddenly been spooked or shamed in such a way that it was incomprehensible. It was strange and mind blowing how the boy acted when exposed to a woman as he had been, running around and hiding his head in his shirt. As he ran, Scorria remained perfectly still, watching the strange alien run around as if he was panicked by something. Best not to move…perhaps he would not see her if she did not move.

However, he let out a yell as he fell onto his face, his vision obscured by his own shirt, apologizing for the intrusion into her personal space. To be honest, she should be the one apologizing, since she had been the one to trip over and fall on top of him, but the way he was acting just left her completely shocked and speechless. It was as if he had been burned by a brand or something.

Suddenly, a set of clothes materialized beside her, making her blink for a moment. She had possessed the gem of telepathy for awhile, but she never really learned how to use it properly, so such things were still rather foreign to her. He gestured towards the clothing, and while she smiled sheepishly, she thanked him all the same for the clothing. “I appreciate it…” She said in a quiet, but gentle voice. She pulled the shorts and tunic onto her person, thankful to at least preserve her dignity for the moment. However, he began to speak as she dressed, apparently trembling nervously.

That was what did it. The way he was hiding his eyes, the way he was acting. A scowl crossed over her features after she dressed as she walked over towards the little alien, easily pulling him up by his collar to look her in the eye. “Are you saying…” She said, narrowing her eyes angrily at him. “…that I’m UGLY?!” She asked in a demanding fashion, her free hand clenching into a fist.

He let out a cross between a squeal and a cry as the strange woman grabbed him by the collar and lifted him clear off his feet. Minosha clapped his hands over her wrists, instinctively assuming she had begun their fight with such an aggressive maneuver. Then he stopped his reflexive counterattack as she started speaking.

Well this was a first. She wasn’t angry because he had the audacity to look at her in a suggestive manner, she was angry because he wasn’t looking at her in a suggestive manner. It confused him. Normally he was immediately reprimanded for such behavior, and yet she was implicitly encouraging it. Somehow he felt like this was a trap. Yes, somehow this wasn’t going to end well no matter what he did. Regardless, Minosha had upset the woman through his actions and he felt compelled to correct his social faux pas.

The sudden motion of her pulling on his collar had pulled it away from his face, revealing it in plain view. He still had a bit of a blush, and he was a bit surprised to see she had one as well. Out of the corner of his eye, the Konatsu saw a fist cranked back and ready to deck him. He looked at her face dead on, getting a clear picture of it for the first time. She certainly wasn’t unattractive, just a bit on the usual side. She had green skin, but she wasn’t Namekian, because she was female... and had hair.

This confirmed it. He really needed to get out more.

“No no no no!” he sputtered. “I don’t think you’re ugly. You’re... very pretty. Your... it’s... really nice... It’s just that that’s never... I’ve never... I’m not a pervert, I promise! I never meant to offend you. I thought that... most women don’t like it when... it’s just... it’s not appropriate for a gentleman to... I really do think that you are a lovely lady...”

He sighed, exasperated. This just wasn’t working. He winced the side of his face where he expected the fist to hit him.

She noticed the look of embarrassment on his face, his blush clearly seen amidst his pinkish skin. However, he started to stutter out his response, practically tripping over himself in the verbal sense as he tried to find the right words to convey what he was really feeling, and in a way, Scorria did not get the feeling that he was lying, really. If anything, she felt a profound truthfulness from him.

At that mention, her expression softened, her fist lowering from its ready position.

Her eyes immediately glared at the young alien, her fist raising again and preparing to punch him as hard as she could.

Her expression softened again, her fist lowering again, her muscles ceasing to tense. He seemed to wince, as if expecting to be punched, but after a moment, a smile crossed her face and the truly unexpected happened. She hugged him, utterly flattered by his words and actions. After a moment of that, she pressed her lips against his cheek before setting him down. “That is very honorable and sweet of you, Minosha,” She said, smiling at him genuinely. She nodded her head to him. “I am Scorria, and I hail from the planet of Scorpinok. A pleasure to meet you,” She said gently, not wanting him to be nervous any more. “I suppose I was just flustered from being seen without clothing on when I was expecting no one to be around. I believe you and forgive you,” She said, her earlier irritation and anger clearly forgotten. “You had mentioned a spar, right? Well, now is not a very good time for me…I have much I need to do, but perhaps later would be better and more convenient. Would that be alright?” She asked.

The punch never came. He froze as she wrapped her arms around him, with his feet still dangling above the ground. Oh no. She was going to crush him. He knew it. But wait. The pressure was all wrong. The embrace was firm enough to keep him from falling, yet relaxed enough to not be threatening. Her body was soft and warm against his, and it was impossible not to feel all her different curves even from beneath his armor. It was like nothing he had ever experienced before. And then she did something entirely unexpected: she kissed him on the cheek. Minosha felt like he was going to melt. The woman set him down and it was all he could do to keep his jellied legs from buckling underneath him.

He vaguely had the impression that she was talking to him. Something about her name (Scorria maybe?), her home planet, and a spar... spar? Was that what they were here for? He had no idea. His head was swimming. He may as well have been floating in the clouds. She asked him a question and he looked at her dumbly. She was asking to meet up again at a later time to continue the battle.

Minosha attempted to speak words, but nothing intelligible that could be even considered close to an actual word came out.

“Hulaeoeh...” he mumbled. He tried again. “Yffuios...”

Finally, he just nodded and made a guttural agreement from his throat. “Mhmm.”

He had to go. Right now. He let his focus on the realm slip away and it dissolved into nothing. Back in the real world, he gasped and shook his head, pushing away that fuzzy feeling wrapped around his brain. Then he felt something else. He looked down, and his eyes bulged. The boy clapped a hand over his mouth and hurriedly checked to see if anyone else was around. Thankfully, he was alone.

With that, he awkwardly stood and waddled to the chest of drawers containing his clothes. He needed a change of pants.
