The warmth from in his pocket triggered his mind. He reached in his pocket, careful not to touch the actual gem yet, just the chain, and held it up in front of his face. It was lighting up, like the beacon once again. It had only done this twice before. The first time was when he was called to spar with the Namekian warrior, Rem. And the second time was when he got to meet the Elder Gohan fellow. It was strange that he, himself, knew two different people named Gohan, but whatever. It was what it was.

He was very interested in the situation. He wondered who he could possibly be being called to meet this time. With confidence, he grabbed hold of the gem of telepathy and his mind went completely white.

When he regained his consciousness, he was standing inside of what appeared to be a massive cave with torches all around, lighting up the rocky interior. Stalagtites and stalagmites jutted out of the ceiling and floor of the cave, and the distant dripping of water echoed all around. Bats chimed in with their eerie call around. He stood there and waited with his arms crossed, slowly raising his power level as the black M etched its way across his forehead. He was ready.

Madness.

Kularian had experienced a level of madness and anger that he had never thought possible, and yet, as he watched the fight between himself and Rem over and over again in his mind, he knew that this had gone horribly, horribly wrong. He wished now that he could take back what he'd said, but that was not possible, not anymore. Rem would be leaving, he knew that, and that would put the two at an odds that they'd never been before.

There had been that time on Earth, before they'd left for the first time... the two had beaten the hell out of each other then. It seemed that the two were always on opposite ends of the spectrum with how to deal with everything. Rem was cool, collected, and stood for the peace and justice in the galaxy, where Kularian was chaotic and irrational, often preferring to simply kill those who would cause trouble without doing much research beforehand. Both methods were effective... but tended to put one another at odds with each other.

Shaking his head, he became aware of rock materializing around him as he found himself within a torch-lit cavern. The male, having spent the majority of his time in his wolven form lately, turned his snout to the other. Blond hair, and a red coat... Kularian hadn't seen the fellow before. He would have remembered something as audacious as that. “I'm assuming you're here to fight...” he spoke, his words low, muted. He took a wide stance, opening his hands as claws. “Come on then.”

Vash could barely believe his eyes. It was a fucking wolf, standing on its hind legs in front of him. And it talked! He shouldn’t have been surprised at things like this, but goddamn, it was an intimidating sight for sure. It even wasted no time in egging Vash on to commence the combat. The demon liked this one’s style. He knew for some reason that he had been called here to face this particular one, but he just wasn’t as talkative as Rem or Gohan, but the power was unbelievable. Vash could literally feel the strength emanating from the wolf creature.

“Sounds good to me,” Vash replied with a sly smirk. With the extreme speed and precision of a true marksman, Vash drew his energy repeater and fired a bolt of energy at his opponent, before running parallel to it and charging energy in his palms. Close combat didn’t seem like a very good idea with this one, it would probably be a little better to keep some amount of distance if he hoped to stand even a slight chance of holding his own against the sheer magnitude of the wolf’s strength.

He shot two ki blasts towards the ceiling above the wolf, hoping to cause some of the jagged rock formations to come down atop the wolf creature.

The wolf felt some sort of... connection with this one. It was hard to say exactly what it was that Kularian was feeling, as he wasn't certain of it. It felt familiar to him, like he'd experienced it before, but the shot to his chest from the blaster brought him out of his reverie fairly quickly. He grunted as his foe started to move, apparently playing hard to get, and avoiding range. The wolf was about to launch his secret technique, when the other shot a pair of blasts that curved upward, slamming into the ceiling above him.

Glancing upward, the male saw the chunks of rock beginning to shift and fall down towards him, and he let out a slight growl. Hopping backwards, he readied himself for the pieces of rock to fall. Then, as they did so, the wolf leapt upwards, slamming his fist into one, and then flipping over and slamming a heel into the second, sending them both streaking back down towards his yellow-haired adversary.

“I am the Avatar of Might,” Kularian growled at the other, before standing to his full height and letting his power explode around him. “Kularian, of the Justice League,” he growled, though he didn't know if he was technically still part of the crew, after what had happened. “Who might you be, then, stranger?” he growled as he took a step forward towards the other, readying himself to continue the brawl.

The two ki blasts Vash sent towards the ceiling slowly disappeared out of view. That was just how big this cave really was. A couple of flashes of light were followed by a low rumble before the two massive chunks of rock fell from the ceiling. Vash watched in awe as the wolf creature raised himself into the sky. A loud crack, a spin, and another crack resulted in both of the stone spears rifling their way towards the demon. He was lucky enough to roll out of the way of the first, but the second he needed to very rapidly charge energy into his right hand and fling a grenade of energy at it.

The ki ball connected with the stone, causing it to explode. Chunks of rock went flying in all directions. Vash engulfed himself in a defensive shield of energy, causing the smaller pieces to burn up.

That is when the wolf creature said it. Exactly what Vash had already thought, but now the proof was right there. “Kularian of the Justice League,” he spoke as a chill went up his spine. This was the third encounter now. And by all accounts, he liked what he saw. The Sheer power of these guys was enough to get Vash highly interested in their goals. “Who might you be, then, stranger?” Kularian asked after they were both able to regain control of their breaths.

“My name is Vash,” the demon responded, showing a sign of respect to this Kularian person. “If you are from the Justice League than I feel like we have many goals in common. We can work out the details later. This is totally against my better judgement, but here goes nothing.” Knowing that they didn’t have a whole lot of time left in this particular sparring event, Vash gulped hard, and lunged himself forward. He could tell right away that close combat was this one’s specialty, and wanted to at least get a taste of what was to come. He drew his fist back, whispered ‘here goes nothing,’ to himself, and threw his punch forward.

The Lismian nodded at the other. It seemed that he had almost been expecting Kularian to say that name. And as he looked, he could see the faint outline of something around Vash's form. While it was not exactly the same... idea that he felt his own wolf was nearby, he felt that it was, in fact, similar. “I see...” he spoke, as he rubbed his hands together, slowly, before tightening the glove on his left hand, followed by the right. “Goals in common, eh? Let's see what it is you can do. Fighting at range is a coward's game... let's see what you can do in MY domain!” he roared out.

And then Vash did, moving forward quickly. He was light on his feet; Kularian appreciated that. However, even with that speed, Kularian was faster. The fist came forward, and the warrior, eager to see his new potential ally's power, took the shot clear to the face. His skull rattled, his jaw ached, and he saw stars for a moment but... he was still standing. “Not bad.” He turned back around to face Vash before his own muscles tightened in his arm and he snapped a fist forward, arcing towards Vash's stomach. He had no desire to knock this fellow out after just meeting him.

His posture turned then and his feet swept along the ground before he pivoted, and unleashed an elbow aimed at the man's ribs. “I'm holding off on using my true power, for now,” he spoke, as the attack moved, and then he darted away, his feet scraping along the ground as he watched the red-coated warrior. “I'd rather not do that,” he spoke, before his white-tinged-with-blue aura began to flicker and turn to red. “Unless you want to see what your limits truly are...” he spoke, the wolf giving a wild, vicious grin.

Well, that was a terrible idea. No sooner had his punch connected with the wolf creature’s jaw, than Vash was doubled over in pain with a fist in his gut. Kularian was lightning quick and his physical attacks, well, they had no match as far as Vash was concerned. The wind had literally been sucked from his lungs as he stammered to try to catch his breath, his hands clutching at his sore rib cage. The wolf spun quickly and for good emphasis buried his elbow in just about the same spot. Lucky for Vash, his hands were already there, cradling the initial blow, but god damn did that hurt like a bitch.

Kularian than gave a stern but effective warning. If Vash were to really push his luck, trying to egg the wolf on and show even more of his power, than the demon’s limits would be pushed to their max. That didn’t sound as enjoyable to him than taking a nice bath once the gem spar was over, so it probably wasn’t going to be in his best interest to really challenge him like that.

He wouldn’t leave this new acquaintance without a parting gift though. Using a decent amount of his remaining energy, he placed his fingers up against his eyes, the back of his hands facing outward, and shot a blinding pulse of light, hoping to blind Kularian long enough for Vash to make his escape back to the real world. “Until next time, Kularian,” he said as the gem began to pull him away from the astral realm.
