“HYAAAAAAGGGHHH!” Gohan screamed with fury as he unleashed the first wave of telekinetic power from his body. The twelve training dummies he had arranged around him in a circle, all of them thirty metres from the centre he was standing on shook violently, threatening to break them off the super-strong rods attaching them to the ground. He vanished, reappearing in front of one of the dummies and slamming his fist forward into it. He used telekinesis to punch at significantly increased speeds, making his punch break the dummy, which was also made of the super-strong metal their supports were built from, into several pieces that flew everywhere. Then he was gone again. The Half Saiyan reappeared facing three of the dummies. He was in mid-air with both legs bent backwards. He shot both legs forward, first his right and then his left. As he did this he unleashed two waves of tremendous telekinetic force, both going after one of the dummies. The one in the centre was left and Gohan shot both of his hands forward to fire another blast of force for this one. The third dummy was crushed as well and the force of his third attack was so great Gohan was sent flying backwards a short distance. The boy flipped in mid-air and then kicked downwards, his feet digging into the steel floor of the training room. He slid backwards almost to the edge of the circle, where there rested two of the dummies he had placed. These two were closer together than the others, and for good reason. Using telekinesis to push himself, speeding up his slide along the floor again, Gohan raised both arms, crossed over his chest, and then was he reached the dummies he struck out with a backhand to both sides, once again amplifying the force of the blow with his uniquely strong mind powers, crushing both of his metal foes and sending them flying into the walls. He began to sprint back towards the centre of the circle then, and as he reached his destination he took hold of one dummy from each side, opposite each other, and he pulled them in towards him like two foes coming to attack. He leaped just before they reached him, however, and they slammed into each other with such force and speed they broke into at least ten pieces each. As he landed again the Psychic Master took hold of all these pieces, formed them together into a steel boulder, and launched his new creation at one of the four remaining static foes. As that one too was crushed to pieces the boy was already pulling another one towards him like the two before. “RAAARRRGGGHHH!” He shot his knee forward with even more telekinetic force than he was pulling the thing towards him with, and the end result was that dummy meeting the same fate as the nine before it. Finally the Half Saiyan jumped again, so high he could almost reach the roof, and as he came back down he raised his arm with his hand curled into a fist. As he hit the ground the Psychic Master used the momentum he had gathered to unleash an even more furious detonation of force, easily shattering the last two training dummies to pieces. Finally there was nothing but him, and the pieces of twelve metallic dummies (though anyone who had not been formerly told how many there were would be unable to count them now; the pieces were scattered all over the room). Gohan panted heavily as he recovered, letting his power restore itself. “Bring in another twelve,” he said clearly so that the materialisation computer could hear him. “And clean up what’s left of these ones.” “Sir,” replied a computerised female voice belonging to artificial intelligence as the metal pieces lying about that were left from the dummies faded away. “Please be sparing. The metal used to construct those training dummies is only found on Planet Damaskia, and even there it is an incredibly valuable commodity. Having it imported is even more expensive. Are you sure you cannot use a substitute?” “I have virtually unlimited money…why should I worry about that?” the boy replied, preparing himself for the next round. “And scatter these ones around randomly. I want a surprise.” “Very well…” Another twelve dummies appeared out of nowhere in random positions throughout the room. It was true what Gohan had said. Due to an on-going black market trade he had set up on Earth with old pieces of his time machine, he had so much money he had found himself unable to run out, even if he was trying to go broke. As he cut through this group of metallic obstacles as quickly as he had done the last, he started to wonder what was going to happen after all of this. For the last few days he had been fighting in the Astral Realm, obliterating some of the toughest training dummies in the world, experimenting with his new upgraded Gravitron technology…he seemed to have unlimited energy, like his body was expending all of its resources to let him train for as long as possible. What would happen when this massive pool of energy ran out? Would he have to stop and rest? Gohan didn’t think he’d be able to bear that, at least not right now when he was training so hard to become better. Hopefully it won’t happen for a while. 911 |
