The wolf warrior looked from one to the other as he had finally been able to pull himself out of the nonsense that he'd been in formerly. There had been the forest, and the moving pathway, and the pit of inky blackness that had become water... it was really rather unusual when he thought about it, and he didn't doubt that it was all taking place in his mind somehow. But he shook his head as he looked at the Elder that he had spoken with before, and tried to get some sort of information out of him. However... “So where is this?” he growled as he stood up to his full height, shaking himself to rid the water from his fur. The question had been answered a moment ago, but the wolf wasn't truly paying attention at the time. “And where am I?” he growled, not realizing that the two questions were, in fact, one in the same, and yet they hadn't really gotten to be the same answer. He shrugged a moment before he looekd at the elder, trying to get some form of information from him. “This is the temple of Kanassa... where many of us study the ways of the mind, as I had informed you earlier. There are several of us here who study daily to learn the mysteries of the mind and how to utilize it to its fullest. There is much information here that you could learn to use for yourself,” the man spoke, and Kularian let out a slight growl before he felt his old familiar anger returning as he took a few steps forward, and drew out a hand. Hoewver, before he had a chance to fully complete his attack, the man before him took on an odd, blue hue, and thrust that persona out at him, which looked very much the same as the man, but it caused him some surprise as he stumbled backwards, confused. “What the hell was that?” Kularian snarled, his hair standing on end as the anger filled his being. He didn't know what he was going to do here, but he felt as if they were all... mocking him, somehow. He knew they weren't, and on some level, he almost felt ashamed for thinking so, but he couldn't shake the feeling that they were all showing off what magical powers they had, and Kular didn't have any of them. “How did you do that? Show me how,” he growled as he moved forward towards them. His aggressive nature and tone seemed to surprise them a bit as they took a step backwards, as if not sure how to handle the wolf beast. “I will take him on,” a voice spoke. An old voice. An old, female voice. Kularian looked up as he tried to see exactly who was speaking, and found that it was an elderly woman who barely had the skin tone of rest of them. They all separated for her, and it was clear, right away, that she was someone who had a high position of authority. “Come, Lismian. I am Ka'Rel, and I will be your teacher,” she spoke, and turned, showing her back to him. The wolf felt a sudden rush of adrenaline, and nearly leapt forward at her, but as he moved, or tried to, he found that he was unable to even lift a foot off the ground. Looking down, a faint blue glow covered his feet. “What have done to me, woman?” he snarled, snapping his jaws as spittle flew from his maw, and his eyes widened with rage. “I thought you wished me to follow,” he growled, struggling against the bonds that kept him in place. It was very obvious, right away, that he was breaking very much of the respect that was normally given to elders. However, the woman didn't seem to mind, or at least, she didn't show it as she turned around to face him, her eyes narrowed as well as she watched him. “Release me,” he snapped, trying to move forward. However, his body still refused to move at all. The woman gave a soft laugh then, her voice like an ancient tome. Full of wisdom and knowledge, but barely able to get the point across to those who didn't concentrate upon it. “Young man. You say that you wish to be able to do what was just done to you. Where you project your mind forward as a physical force. And yet, now given the perfect chance and opportunity to do so... you wish to be removed from your physical constraints. Why.” The last word was not a question, but a demand. Kularian didn't respond at first, mostly because he was not sure how to do so. The man gave a low growl in response as he looked on. “So what then,” he growled as he watched her, his body still struggling against the bonds that were in place. “You think that I would need to resist that which you have placed upon me? Or that I should allow my mind to free itself from my body, and use that to come after you?” he asked, and the woman simply nodded. “But I lack the knowledge and understanding of how to do that!” he roared, his anger starting to bubble through to the surface. The woman, confident in her own power, simply sat back and watched, amused at him. “You need to tell me how this is done!” he roared, his hand lashing out, striking the wall, shattering the stone that lay beneath his fist, causing several of the men gathered around to gasp. However, Ka'Rel simply watched him, still amused. “You feel that you are entitled to know, but it is not something that can be told. And from what you seem to infer to me, and what I can tell from your mind... you do not have much time. In that, I would like to push forward as fast as I can with you. I need you to be moved beyond this normal realm of understanding, and the basic progress that others would make. You will need to be forced to be above and beyond what a normal person's mind can take. And I see that you are reactive. You use anger and rage as your medium, your focus, for both expressing yourself as well as in how you deal with your enemies. Am I wrong?” she asked, and Kularian merely snarled in response. “Well then. What you should do then, rather than try and get out of that, is to use that instinct to garner your mind.” The wolf blinked, not entirely sure what she meant by that. In his own... world, as it were, his instincts and his mental inhibitions were two separate entities. And his mind had been infected with whatever lay within Quon, and thusly, the wolf wasn't keen on using his mind for those things. But here she was, wanting to push him forward, to use his mind for things that he normally didn't and, not only that, but allow his instincts to amplify that, to push him forward on that alone. Kularian grunted, not sure if he could do this, or hell, even should do this, but he wasn't going to try and push it away from himself, not now. If what the other Elder had told him was true, it was going to be exceedingly important for him to push himself beyond his envelope to be able to use both simultaneously... otherwise he could very well kill himself when he locked his mind away. “...FINE!” he roared out, and let out a roar, and attempted to lunge forward again, trying to push his mind forward, beyond his body. As if he were reaching forward to a place that did not exist. He wanted to reach beyond his own physical limitations, but as he did so, nothing at all happened. It was like his attack had done nothing at all. He had willed it with his mind and forced himself beyond what he thought were his means, but it had ended in nothing. Nothing at all. The wolf growled low, his ears pinning back behind his head. “This is asinine!” he roared as he tried again, forcing to attack with his mind as well as his body, attempting to get to a level that was beyond where he normally was. “You're focusing far too much on your physical form. This will likely be very difficult for you, as everything that you've ever focused on has been your physical conditioning, but this will change that. This will allow you to use your mind to allow your body to push past the limitations set by it. Your mental inhibitions will have no say in how much power that you use. But you need to be able to realize exactly what needs to be done, and right now, you're just trying to punch me. FOCUS on what you are doing, and don't allow your body to take precedence. You need to push with your mind, and find a level beyond where you are now.” The wolf gave a low growl, and closed his eyes. As he did so, he became aware almost immediately of a ghastly wolf-head emerging from his chest, its face pushing out of his rib cage, giving a panting, almost maddening growl. “This is a waste of your time,” the woman spoke behind him. But Kularian closed his mind further, pushing the both of them out, leaving him on a completely black plane, with nothing behind him nor before him. And then, he imagined his spirit, his soul, his mind, leaving his body, and moving forward. He saw the female before him and took a single step forward, pushing beyond what his normal body was able to do. There was a collective gasp from the room and that jarred Kularian concentration as he blinked, his eyes and mind returning to the world of the living around him as he shook his head. He saw wisps of red leaving his hands and body, vanishing into the air as if they had never been. “What the hell just happened?” he growled, looking at the woman, who was watching him with a smile, though he couldnt' tell if she was pleased, or frightened. He smelled both on her. “You've managed to do it, in a very short time. You need a great deal of concentration, it seems, but you're able to actively control your mind outside of your body. I sense it has something to do with the... duality that you have, but regardless. Come, and we shall see what more that you can be taught,” she spoke, and moved, heading away. Kularian attempted to move, and found that he was indeed able to. He grunted, before following. WC: 1821 |

((Jumping in)) The old kanassan slid the badge forward, Sai looking at the symbol and coloration. What in the hell was this even supposed to be? “Spirit walker?” Sai asked again, looking back to her. “Yes. The order is under the impression you need discipline. Something about smart mouthing a veteran member of saljuk.” Sai sighed slightly before placing the badge in his pocket, he didn't like the sound of this, not one bit. “Well, now that that's out of the way...” He said, standing up. He took the interesting looking sword from the table, looking it over before looking to Ja'rel again. The kanassan stood up as well. “A spirit walker has no need for physical weapons, I'm going to teach you that.” “That's great, lady.” Sai responded, looking serious all of a sudden. He'd already been bumming around on this damned planet for a month and a half. This spirit walker nonsense didn't sound like it would only eat up more time he didn't really have. Erucas little pawn had likely left the planet by now. “I've been able to handle things on my own for a while, I don't need any of you crap getting in the way.” “Hit me.” Ja'rel said suddenly, causing Sai to look up in surprise. “I assure you, I am just as old and fragile as you think. But you won't be able to land a hand on me.” “I see.” Sai replied again, balling one hand into a fist. He'd given up trying to argue his way out of situations with these people. Much faster to just do what they wanted. If the feeble old woman wanted to eat fist, he could oblige. “NOW!” She shouted, standing as well. “ATTACK ME NOW!” “Your funeral!” Sai replied before setting himself. …........................................................................ The doors slid open before him, allowing the saiyan to walk out into the parking lot. Sitting in the same spot he'd left it when he left was a black and silver motor bike. A capsule corp limited edition design he'd bought when he was younger. It had taken damn near all his cash too...... He wondered to himself exactly how long this thing had been sitting here. It had to be going on three years now. Without thinking much about it he mounted the bike, removing the kick stand before pressing his thumb against a green button. Much to his surprise the bike started up. “Awesome.” Sai said to himself as he began to back out of the space. When he was clear of both of the crappy saiyan vehicles on his sides he cranked on the throttle sending the bike forward. He got off the base quickly, opening the throttle up some more as he headed for Vegeta city. He used to ride around like this when he was younger, he found doing so calmed him some. Now though..... He throttled down as he approached the city limits, entering with relatively few problems. These people still didn't know how to drive. He noted as he came into the city that everything looked the same. Well, almost everything. “legs keep getting longer, skirts keep getting shorter.” Sai mused to himself. While he was making his way through the city he might stop at the weapons dealer, see about getting his Jian repaired fully, or getting a sheath made for the sword Eruca had given him. Sai down shifted suddenly, slowing down in time to avoid a car as it slowed suddenly before turning. It was hard to tell whether to blame it on saiyan made vehicles or the crappy saiyan drivers. When the light turned green he was off once more, rolling up to the the next turn before taking it and following along the dismal traffic. Out of the corner of his eye the saiyan caught sight of something moving towards the edge of the road. If he had to guess he'd say it was a ball. A child followed after it, Sai slowing in order to let the kid safely retrieve the ball. However, on his left a car with music blaring passed him. Swerving wildly. The vehicles made a beeline for the kid, Sai standing on the bike before kicking off. His ride slid across the ground, hitting the curb before popping up into the air and landing on the wheels in a parking space. Sai himself shot through the air, grabbing the kid and flipping out of the way before the car slammed into her. The saiyan landed safely on the sidewalk of the other side of the street, hurling a ki blast at the vehicle in question. The energy ball streaked through the air, hitting the car in the side which caused it to flip over several times before stopped on the drivers side door. He let go of the kid, slowly making his way towards the car he'd flipped over. He removed his helmet, letting his captain badge show on the head band he was wearing. The passenger side door exploded off the car, passenger and then driver piling out. They looked ready to rumble. Catching sight of Koltora moving their way they began to rush forward, stopping when they got a good look at the badge on his head band. …...................................... “uggggh.” He groaned, blinking at the harsh light behind the mountain. What in the shit had just happened? “You see, a spirit walker doesn't need to physically attack. If need be, we can delve into our opponents mind. Make them see what we want....if it makes you feel better, though. No one's ever been able to assert enough willpower to break free of me before. There may be hope for you yet.” “Great.” ((964)) |
