Rem was sleeping, or had been sleeping. He wasn't really sure what was going on. His mind was in a strange place these days. The reawakenings he had been experiecing of his past and his powers were amazing. The new powers, the new abilities, and the strange, new ways in which he could mold the world around him was an exciting prospect for the days to come. He had gone to sleep the night before, laying his head down, and then instantly falling into a series of dreams and visions that were at the same time exceedingly confusing, and yet clear as day.

Not since the early days in which he hadbeen reborn in this universe had Rem dreamt of his past life, but back then the dreams hadn't been clear, hadn't been realizing that they were in fact memories and such. Back in those days, on at least a weekly basis, Rem would recieve new memories through a process he hadn't exactly understood yet. He had been regaining the memories of the Rem Prime. Rem Prime was abeing that had died in the other universe, he had given up his life and dispersed his essence back across the multiverse.

Once, thousands of years both in the past and in the future, and the present, Rem had been near wiped out by something or other. Fate, destiny, or perhaps just bad luck and chance had all come together to destroy the Namekian in each and every galaxy save 1, save the one original that he had been born in in that previous life. Rem was beginning to think that perhaps the multiverse was a lot different than he had at first thought it was. After all, if he had already been wiped out once through time and space, and it was happening again, then... Didn't it make sense that in fact, this was the same exact thing that had wiped him out the first time?

Rem didn't claim to be all that knowledgeable about physics, or time or the way any of that shit worked... But... Well, to him it seemed at least in the realm of possibility that since he was 2000 years in the past as compared to his previous life, that the way the universe worked and time passed, was that this was in fact the same time line as all the rest of them. If... that was true, then it was more than possible than in fact Rem had not been wiped out in all the multiverse once before as he thought. But, rather, it seemed evident that in fact he was only wiped out the once, but he had somehow looped himself back through time, and was forcing to relive it to another outcome. He sort of hoped to get another outcome. In his first life he had been forced to watch the near destruction of his entire universe at the hands of the unformed and Ebross.

Now.. now, he knew that he was nearly alone amongst all the reborn Rems once more, only this time there was little chance that he would be born as he had been. Actually, now that he had thought of it, it was evident that it might be a different time line indeed. Because, well, he was actually born in his first life. His father had been killed and thus Rem had been born. In this time line, Rem had been simply created, brought into existence by a small portion of his energy that had been thrown across the multiverse. So... yeah, actually... While it was possible that he was in fact living the same sort of time line as he had the first time, and that he was simply viewing it from a different perspective, it was more likely that it was the same timeline, just further in the future- that his existence was in fact a single line, rather than a loop.

Anyway, that was the essence of Rem's thoughts these days. Circular thoughts about who he was, where he had come from, and what the fuck was up with everything. When he wasn't doing that, he was either training or sleeping- and usually he was still doing it during both of those as well. At the particular moment, he was dreaming, and realized he was after a while. He was fighting minions of the unformed again, and tons of the Soul Eaters upon the interdimensional highway that had become almost like a second home to him. He was fighting beside the Saiken, back to back as they took down more foes than they had any right to be able to fight and survive, but they were laughing uproariously as they did so, because they were young and kind of dumb, and so full of confidence in themselves and what they were capable of that there was no other possible emotion other than exhultation in the act of preservative destruction.

But that was another life, and another time. Rem was a different person, now. Sure, that same basic individual was inside of him, but he had seen and lived through so much that he simply couldnt throw caution to the wind like he used to, couldn't not care about his life and possible death.

Anyway, he was dreaming and that's what was going on. He came to in the dream in a strange location. It was a clearing, which was well enough- but the sky above him was green, and the ground below was some sort of deep purple color. That was strange enough, but then you had to throw in the fact that right before him, in the middle of this strange colored clearing, was a fucking 15 meter monster thing of some sort. "The hell is that?" Rem asked himself, wondering if this was a sort of dream, or an actual memory of something he had faced before. He didn't think that was a possibility, because when he was dreaming of something he had fought before in his previous life, he could usually recall something about em at least. This.. this wasn't ringing any bells what so ever, it was just weird, strange... Completely unfamiliar to him.

Rem began to approach, wondering if this was perhaps one of those things where the monster was misunderstood or something, and it wouldn't attack him, and would give him some sort of secret training or some shit. So, he walked up towards it, keeping his hands low, his movements rather slow and controlled, and his pace steady. HE didn't look it directly in the eyes because, well, lots of things took that as a challenge to their authority or whatever, and he didn't want to make that mistake here.

Unfortunately, it didn't seem as if his precautions were going to matter for much- because the thing began to make a low, rumbling noise in what he assumed was its chest and throat region. "Well piss..." Rem muttered as he continued to walk forward, making no real changes in what he was doing. A few seconds later it began to move, agitated it seemed, moving back and forth before him on its two front legs. Rem continued moving, making sure to keep his eyes on the things legs and such, wanting to know when and where it was going if it made its move.

And then it did. It came directly at him. In the moment it took to cross the space between itself and him, Rem created a sword of ki energy in one hand and slashed it up towards the things barrelling, large chest. It seemed to be rather fleet of foot, and dodged to the left a moment later making Rem's sword whish harmlessly through the air. Rem cursed under his breath, and then dodged to the right, clearing some extra space between them. So it was to be a fight after all, ah well, it wasn't like he had anything better to do anyway.

The training that he was forced to endure with this Ja'Rel woman was... unbearable, to say the least. Kularian wasn't ever one to keep calm and use his mind, but was always one that constantly used his body and his physical prowess to overcome pretty much anything and everything that came his way. The most lax thing that he'd been forced to undergo involved his entire body being restricted from movement while his mind had bene constantly under assault from others invading his mind to try and break him. And while Kularian's mental prowess was not formidable... it was violent.

Several of those who had gone so far as to invade his mind had come back mentally scarred and crippled from trying to contain the rampaging beast. He had virtually endless mental fortitude it seemed like, and no matter what he did, there were none that had the power to go against him. As mentioned, he didn't have much in the way of the mental prowess, and so inside the astral realm, he didn't really have the same amount of bulk and power that he did normally... but that ferocity and anger that he kept contained, not to mention the fact that his mental power were already tainted by the touch of the mad god that lay imprisoned within Quon.

And in that, Kularian was as of yet, undefeated within the Astral Realm. However, he'd been forced to undergo a number of more excrutiating exercises with his mind that he really didn't care for. Mental exercises that really just caused him more irritation than anything else. He couldn't help himself, and had gone so far as to try and kill his instructors. Thankfully, this was in the Astral realm, and so while they were able to escape from him, he did a bit of lasting mental damage to them. There was little more that he could and would do at that point, but that was as far as he'd made it.

“And so the wolf does sleep after all?” the rickety old voice came in, and the wolf's eyes snapped open as he suddenly bared his teeth at the other, the wolf lifting his head to turn and glare at the woman. A long, low growl rose up in his throat as he watched her. He didn't have much to say to her at all, after all the shit that she'd put him through, but he knew that he likely wasn't going to get out of this without talking at all. She always found a way to piss him off and get under his skin. “Welcome back to the land of the living.”

The wolf's hand closed tightly, and he felt his claws digging across the stone ground. “How about you just go find somewhere to die, you old bitch,” Kularian growled. His eyes closed for a moment before they opened again, the yellow watching her every movement, just in case she tried something that would cause him to lash out at her. “Or has even the hand of death rejected your time-rotted face?” he hissed, before he panted a few more times, trying to get himself back awake.

The woman gave a simple smirk at him before she looked away, shaking her head. “You're by far the most difficult task I've ever taken on,” she spoke, and the wolf snarled. He was not even a person to her... just a task, and assignment. He nearly moved, tried to get up to tear out her throat. But the last time he'd tried to do so, the woman had shattered his mental state, and it had taken him nearly a week to wake back up. He knew that she wasn't one to trifle with, and while he felt the animal instinct of fear, it was whatever portion of his mind that kept him held back from attacking her.

After a moment, she turned back to face him. “And yet, even with all that, you still remain resolute to kill me. I have taught you much in this short time that you and I have trained together, Kularian. Your mind is several times stronger than it had been before. And yet you still refuse to use it. You fall back to those very basic fight or flight instincts that have guided you this far. But you are capable of so much more than that,” she spoke, and the wolf merely growled, saliva rolling down his fangs as he watched her, his body simply waiting for a moment to tear her apart. “If you used that brain of yours a bit more... you might have actually been able to surpass Ja'hiem.”

The wolf's eyes went immediately to a full alert status. “Who? Is there someone that I have not yet surpassed that is on the same playing field as I am?” he growled, his entire body taut, waiting for a chance to move. “Let me kill them. I'll tear them limb from limb just to shatter their hopes and dreams,” he hissed, his body tensed and almost excited at the prospect. “Your students are especially ones that I would not mind breaking,” he finished, before forcing himself to sit up. The stress it took on his mind was a bit beyond what he thought it would have taken, but he was able to sit up without a problem, at least on the outside.

“Ja'hiem is a prodigy, Kularian. You are far from his level, and if you think that you can defeat him in an Astral battle, you are very sorely mistaken. His power nearly can rival mine, if he were to train more. However, he's become... lax in his training lately, having been able to defeat all other comers.” The wolf eyed the woman, a glare evident in his eyes. There were no more words that he had given to her, but it was obvious that he was waiting for her to make a reason that he actually gave a fuck about. Eventually, she sighed. “Fine, fine. I'll get him. And then you'll see what I mean.”

The wolf gave a smirk as he lay his head back on the wall. His body was weak, not from training, but from the fact that his mind had been through so much, here lately, that his nerves were actually weakened. It was odd to think about, but he really couldn't use his muscles the way that he wanted to, given the fact that he'd been forced to undergo so much training of his mind. The wolf closed his eyes, trying to shut out the real world as he attempted to bolster his mind, trying to get it ready for the coming battle. He had no idea if he stood any chance of winning, but he wanted to show that he wasn't going to lose this type of battle.

And after a few moments, he heard a faint squeaking sound that came about every half second. He gave a snarling growl, opening his eyes as he looked out the door to his 'cell' before he saw his future opponent. The man, boy, really, was frail, and was actually confined to a wheelchair. His body seemed like it would snap at a moment's notice, and he wondered if he would truly stand any chance at winning against the wolf. That was simply... unimaginable, looking here. However, he had come to find out long ago that it didn't really matter what they were like in the real world... but how they came across in the Astral Realm that was important.

Kularian grunted as he shook his head, before chuckling. “This? This is the prized pupil of yours?” he asked, as the boy's head lolled ab it to the side. “He's practically braindead. This will be like killing a child,” he grunted, before he gave a single shrug of his shoulders, before his eyes flickered up to the old woman behind him. “But fine. Let's see what he can do. I doubt he'll live beyond the first two seconds of this fight...” he grunted, growling as he covered both her and him with his false bravado. In all honesty, Kularian had no idea what to expect, but this was something that was... definitely going to be interesting.

The woman nodded, and tapped three times on the boy's right hand, and his eyes closed, before she looked at Kularian. “All right. He's ready to do battle. Go and let's see what you can do against him, Kularian,” she spoke, and the wolf gave a haughty grunt before his eyes closed, and he let his mind leave his body, entering onto the Astral Plane. There was naught but a single platform, an endless field of blue grass amongst the space of darkness, much as every other Astral Realm platform had been. The only difference was, this one seemed to have a fifteen foot monster atop it.

“You can't seriously be Ja'hiem,” he spoke, before the beast, looking like something out of a nightmare, charged forward, his fist slamming into the ground. Kularian flipped backwards away from him, and shook his head. “All right then. So you're some sort of... thing. Savant, that's it,” he spoke, before he extended his claws out from his hands. “Well I'm sorry to ruin your little fucking paradise, boy, but I'm going to tear you to pieces, and you're going to enjoy every minute of it,” he spoke, before the wolf darted forward, towards him.

There was an interesting thing about the Astral Realm. Even though it was strictly mental, things that affected you in the real world had some form of application here. And in the real world, he could use Kaio Ken to amplify his body several fold. But here, the slightest use of it would nearly make him black out as it forced his mind to ascend to a level tha the was not really able to handle. He grunted as he realized that what he'd need to do is to pick and choose the times in which he would want to be using those attacks... and make them count. There was little else to really do.

The dark being laughed as Kularian moved towards it, avoiding the attacks that Ja'hiem threw down at him. “You may think that you have power, wolf... but here I am supreme. I have not been defeated here save by Ja'rel. So unless you are her superior, there is little that you can do to defeat me. I hope you realize this,” the voice that resonated outward sounded like pure bass. The words were barely distinguishable from the sound, and Kularian didn't even really pay attention to it. “You fighters and your ki... you think that I don't have a way to resist it? Here, my body absorbs ki, amplifies my strength. Can you fight without it?”

The wolf simply smirked as he came flickering forward, closing the gap between himself and the other in a matter of moments, and darted up the creature's body. “And that's why you're going to lose, thinking in that regard. Not all warriors fight with ki, you predictable, pompous bastard,” he hissed as he darted away from one particular attack, and then leapt upwards, his body holding still just next to the other's jawline. “KAIO KEN!” he roared, only able to handle the barest level in the amplification of his mind as his fist fired outward, slamming into the creature's face.

He landed as the giant began to topple over. “I don't even use ki, you dumbass,” he growled, as he landed. As the world began to fade away, and Kularian found himself once more within his own body, he looked over at the boy who lay in the wheel chair, and flipped him off, before he looked up at the woman. “So apparently your strongest fucking fighter was a pussy. Come back and talk to me when you've got someone who's worth my time. Because otherwise, the next time you come in here to taunt me, I'm going to rip out your wrinkled ass throat.”

The woman watched the wolf for a moment longer before she turned, and began to wheel the nearly paralyzed boy from the room. Kularian grunted, his skull throbbing. He really shouldn't have used Kaio Ken at all in the Astral realm, but he couldn't help himself. Even in the normalcy of his day to day living, if there was something that his (considerable) strength couldn't handle, his body automatically shifted to Kaio Ken without him having to do anything.

“This place is bullshit,” he growled, before rolling over in his bed. “Going back to sleep.”

Rem powered himself up a bit over the next few seconds, making sure he was in the best possible condition he could be in for the fight that was going to take place. He looked at the beast before him, wondering exactly what the hell it was supposed to be. IT kind of looked like a dinosaur, but really didn't. It was... actually, now that he thought about it, Rem was sure that it actually looked a lot more like a thing he had seen in a movie one time. Godzilla or something. It was about 45 meters tall, and had spines along its back and its neck. It had long, powerful legs that ended in large thighs on either side of its pot bellied style body. It had arms as well. The arms were shorter than they seemed to have should been, but they were strong and powerful looking, and Rem knew that if the claws that were arrayed on the ends of those hands were to hit him, he would not only have the shit knocked out of him, but also to probably rend and rip the shit out of him.

The thing charged again, and Rem began to move back- using his superior speed to stay out of the way of the thing for long enough to come up with a plan to deal with it. He scouter was telling him that the things power level was rather high, jumping around from far below rems own, to around his own. he couldn't get an accurate and stable reading on it, and just assumed that the create was capable of using ki energy, but not in a way that was trained or practiced, but rather came natural. As if it was part of the make up of the thing. That was a strange concept for the Namekian to grasp, but he could understand a being of ki energy, at least. The soul eaters were much the same, and he had seen other species like that. It was just strange to be fighting one so massive, and so powerful.

Rem stopped retreating then, bringing the ki sword up before him and lashing out at the things arm as it struck down at him. He was surprised when his energy blade skidded along its flesh, throwing up sparks and shit. Then he was thrown away, its massive strength coming up against his own and the force behind his attack being enough to overcome Rem, tossing him through the air like a ragdoll. He flew into the air, using his power to continue moving, not wanting to stay on the ground and give it a chance to close on him and attempt to finish him. If he could stay in the air he could, hopefully, use the aerial advantage against it. He was thinking that in the same instant the beast upon the ground opened its mouth and released a gaping beam of energy from its large, black toothed maw. He was forced to dodge to the side quickly, barely avoiding the attack and cursing to himself at underestimating it again, after seeing what it was thus far capable of.

Rem gritted his teeth and decided to go for it. He drove in, his blade lashing out again and again as he tried to pierce the iron hard skin of the bastard. At some point he got lucky, the blade pierced it, and it died. Then rem woke up from the dream.

Site Noob until I revenge kill Toma
A massive booming sound from behind him made Gohan jump.

“What the—” He turned to see a huge beast, the likes of which he had never heard about before. A massive black thing, like a silhouette save for its large yellow eyes and circular mouth, red on the inside with what seemed like but surely couldn’t be hundreds of teeth. It was vaguely humanoid, and he got nothing but static when he tried to sense its ki and get a gauge of how strong it was.

The thing immediately attacked, striking down at Gohan from above with its huge, hammer-like fist. The Half Saiyan leaped out of the way and was long gone by the time the strike hit, but it was so powerful it made a shockwave and pushed him back further.

Rolling as he hit the ground to get back up, the Psychic Master immediately took hold of a nearby rock with his mind. Before he could get it really moving, however, the silhouette monster had raised a hand and focused on the rock, looking as if it was trying to wrestle control from him. Another telekinetic? In a moment Gohan felt his control had been lost, and sure enough this thing was another psychic who could not only control things, but overpower him and stop him from controlling anything. One of his best abilities was now negated.

“Hey, boys, you know what to do,” he said without any further explanation into the satellite earpiece he was wearing. His ship crew would immediately know to fire some warheads at his foe. Why else would he actually talk to them, anyway? But no warheads came, and listening closely Gohan heard static coming from the earpiece. He raised his hand and moved the small dial he had installed on it, allowing to switch his comm channel to one for his crew, just his captain, any individual member of the Justice League, all of them, or both the league and his crew. No setting worked, as if either his earpiece was broken or everyone else’s had. What the hell was going on?

The Half Saiyan was alone to fight. He wasn’t going to give up, however, and as the demon-like creature struck again the boy vanished from sight, moving at least one hundred metres away. The strange shockwave caused by the thing hitting the ground reached him there too, though that was surely impossible.

Raising his arm Gohan fired several telekinetic blasts of force at his enemy, but none of them had any effect. It seemed to be completely invincible. And then, no matter what Gohan did, he couldn’t defend himself from those damn shockwaves…Instantly Transmitting to the other side of the planet, using a barrier, trying to telekinetically push the limb back up…Nothing could stop that thing.

Finally, as he had run out of ideas and energy, Gohan stood with acceptance. His pride wasn’t going to keep him moving because it was clear at this point nobody was coming for him, there was nothing he could not to die, let alone to hurt his foe, and…well. That was it, really.

He looked up at the thing, though. Stared it right in its huge eyes as it brought its arm down on him for the final kill. Just before it did, although Gohan wasn’t exactly positive what had happened…for the slightest instant, it changed. Not in body shape, for although Gohan had not noticed it was already in the shape of something he knew…but the color of the thing changed. The black covering was gone and the monster was shown to have purple skin and armor similar to that of the boy’s own, a red cape flowing out of the back. Horns stuck out of its head.

A changeling!

And then, just as Gohan was about to be crushed, he awoke.

He was sure he still felt the shockwave making his body shake, however.

He was almost immediately out of bed as if it was the source of his fears and bad dreams. Bad dreams…that’s what he had called them when he had had them at the age of eleven, when they had kept him away from his bed every night. Bad dreams about dad dying…Gohan being captured…the Saiyans taking over. Everything bad from the world he had originated from. They had faded out around the time he had turned twelve, when many of his emotions had been lost to the mindset that had kept him alive in those years. Steal. Eat. Survive. Now they were called nightmares.

But even if the name had changed, the feeling hadn’t. The boy felt like he had those few years ago, after awakening every night from one of those horrible dreams. Scared. Endangered.

Alone.

Loneliness had been a common theme of this one, but the more unsettling theme was…the Changeling. Considering how he felt a lightened, relaxed state in his head, he felt this was a Psychic Dream. It was a phenomenon he had heard about that was experienced when in the Temple of Saljuk, or anywhere if you are a very spiritual Psychic. When the mind subconsciously predicted something in the future while one was asleep, and then told the brain about it through a dream. It seemed Gohan was in for trouble since his had been a nightmare. Was he going to fight an incredibly powerful changeling…with no help from his friends? Was that also why he was so obsessed with keeping up his improvement even weeks after the stress from losing to Universal Terror? He had subconsciously predicted this a while ago, but with no connection strong enough to predict something far away his subconscious could only try to prepare him until now?

“Fucking hell,” Gohan muttered, frustrated with the situation. He didn’t want to think about any of this.
