Ancient Power Difficulty: Medium Description: The Planet of Kanassa is said to have ancient power. Some people there have learned psychic powers that let them see into the future. You learn from an elder about this power and you hope to learn it yourself. He tells you that you need to search in some ancient ruins to find it and wield it though. Reward: +500 zeni, +5 DP, +40 all stats, +5 Rp Credits Bonus: The special ability Telepathy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zuccil and his siblings were out in one market places getting some food for later that night. They had already been introduced to Zarbon, the leader of the Z-Force, as well as Aria, Android 16, Perrin and Kale, but he had little time to get to know any of them. As usual, Zuccil's primary focus was on his training, and on finding Sprout and his mysterious master. He had already relayed most of the pertinent information to Zarbon, who had seemed rather distracted at the time, like there was something personal weighing on his mind. Or maybe it was simply that he was powerful enough that what Zuccil perceived as a threat wasn't even worth the alien's time. As he was searching through a display case full of what Zuccil assumed was fruit, he felt something tugging on the waist of his pants. As reflex reaction, and swung back with a roundhouse kick, meant for the head of this would-be thief. But when he landed out of the follow-through, there was no one there to take the strike. Zuccil growled angrily as he looked up and down the street to try and see someone running away with their ill-gotten loot. "Hey, Zuccil, what is that hanging out of your pants?" asked Turipa as he walked up, pulled a piece parchment paper out of the back of Zuccil's pants, and handed it to him. Zuccil took it with a bewildered expression on his face, blinking a little rapidly. They rejoined Ruta and began making their way back to the alliance landing site, reading the letter that had been mysteriously left with Zuccil. As they got back to the camp, Zuccil saw that Aria, 16, and a young, blue haired girl Zuccil had yet to meet, were the only ones still at the camp, which meant Zarbon and Bardock were still off looking for their stone. He sat down with, still staring at the parchment as his siblings went to go store the supplies into the Bega. "Hey, guys, dunno if this is of any importance to you, but someone apparently wants us all to know about the psychic abilities to be learned here." he said as he smoothed the parchment out on the ground. On the parchment was a map to an ancient ruin at the edge of the Forest of Illusions. Then he laid out the letter for everyone to read. Warriors, You may be this galaxy's only hope, if this menace is not dealt with soon, he may be able to best even the leaders of the galaxy's great empires. So I give to you the powers he has already mastered, so that you may defend yourselves when you face him. A Friend "So what's everyone wanna do here?" Zuccil asked curiously. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WC: 463 |

Bulma was hard at work at the campsite. It was all on her own curiosity that had her working on everyone else’s ship, even though Zuccil’s and Zarbon’s crews were adequate enough to fix them. It was just her nature to touch machines. “Hey you hand me that tool over there, I think we can have this engine fixed a few weeks earlier than you anticipated if we replace this piston with a sturdier one. That means, you over there! Hey! Listen to me!” Bulma turned to a crew member. “Go check the Bega’s parts garage for a replacement piston. If there isn’t one then give us a run-down on how much it costs to have one ordered.” She turned around and grabbed the tool she was given and she started tweaking a few things. She heard Zuccil return and she decided to leave it up to his crew on the rest of the repair work for the day. Jumping down from the side of his ship, she landed like a cat and a huff of air squeezed from her cheeks in a sigh. She wore a dirty white tank with working gloves and baggy pants that were dirty as well. She had goggles on her forehead. “Hey, you are Zuccil right? I’ve been trying to help out with the engine problem as much as I could; still seems to be going to take a while.” She leaned over his shoulder and looked at the map he was showing. “Oh sweet! Is that where the Ancient Ruins are? Let’s get this party started then! We definitely should check it out and see if the myths are true. Psychic powers would benefit us all so much.” Bulma nearly hopped in excitement as she turned around. “I’m going to go get changed and grab my Capsule Corp Sword bracers.” She looked up to Android 16 and Aria. “You two should come as well. If these psychic powers exist, I would love to see if they effect robotic minds as well. Now that would be interesting. I think that would add a few theories to the organic and nonorganic theory on consciousness.” Bulma turned around and began to walk away deep in thought now. “If a robotic mind, which is made up of just processor chips and memory, is able to communicate with organic minds, are we any different than they are? Could we communicate with computers too? Hm, the possibilities are nearly endless…. --------------------

Aria sat down in deep meditation; it was her favorite thing to do. Self-reflection was always something that kept Aria calm and level headed most of the time. Her meditation was broken with ease by the approaching Zuccil. As she opened her eyes, sound returned to her. She was able to hear Bulma yelling toward the various crew members of each ship and giving them directions. People were running everywhere. Bardock and Zarbon were missing at the time; they mentioned going off to find some kind of rock which would increase their rate of darkness. She envied Zarbon and Bardock; they were able to accept their darkness with ease. No matter how much she saw Zarbon to be the goofiest of comrades, his methods had a lure of darkness within them. Bardock’s veteran nature had proven that only the darkest warrior will prosper in this world and he very well may be right. She had not come to complete terms with her darkness; she always felt it was to be defeated or accepted. Acceptance was probably the best way to go about it in this world, but how would Guru feel? She could welcome darkness with open arms and keep her lawful nature couldn’t she? It was always how one person went about obtaining peace, and if it was obtained then the methods would not matter anymore. People look at peace and not the means of how it got there, so would it be bad to use a dark force for it? Before she could continue to ask herself these questions Zuccil finally spoke and laid this map before them. She looked to the side to see who was all present. Bulma, Android 16 and Zuccil were the only ones she could see. I wonder what Perrin is up to. Bulma’s reaction caused a stir in her mind and she began to question the theory of whether she had a real consciousness. She pinched her arm and winced. “Yea, I believe I am a conscious being. I don’t think psychic powers would be something I am immune to.” Aria stood up and looked down at Android 16. “How about you Android One Six? Would you like to answer the question by going to these Ruins?” --------------------

Android 16 had spent a bit of time looking over the engines, but in truth, his mind had begun to wander elsewhere. He would remain close by, but 16 had changed his focus to examining Aria from a distance. Android 16 found her to be fascinating; a machine and yet seemingly just as human as any organic being; it was something that 16 found himself feeling envy over. Envy was a new emotion which Android 16 had only recently begun to feel, and it had proven to be an interesting experience and experiment in understand human thinking a bit more; though in this case not so much organic. Then there was interruption to his thoughts, his mental examination of Aria’s personality; a message of some sort, a map, the promise of mystical powers. Android 16 was not certain what to think of the prospect that a machine such as himself could learn something along the lines of telepathy; yet he had managed to integrate the Gem of Telepathy into his systems and was capable of making full use of it. Though whether the ability to use the gem was a coincidence of mixing machine and mystic, or if his system design would truly allow him to expand his abilities in the same ways as organics, he had no clue. It was, however, something he desired to learn, and this seemed like a good chance. Android 16 would wait and listen to the information, and as Bulma and Aria accepted, he saw little reason why he shouldn’t as well. “I think it would be interesting to see the results,” and he did not like the idea of letting just the three of them go on their own. While 16 knew he wasn’t the strongest of the bunch, mechanical senses could always prove to be an asset; and with the array of skills he had been developing, he was a good one to have around in the event of running into a group that might outnumber them. ---- WC: 335 Quest Total: 1,584 |

“It is the beginning of telepathy. You will need to learn to tame it before we can begin anything else, otherwise the distraction will be far too severe. If I am not mistaken, I believe your companions may be coming to similar conclusions,” Purge raised his head, sending a passing glance towards his robed friend, “There are two courses of action that you could take, and the choice is yours to make. Either we could speed up this process and teach you to tame these powers, or you intercept your comrades and make the best of it.” Perrin shifted slightly, fumbled between the decisions laid before him, and then nodded, “I'll catch up to them. Are they still at the landing site?” “Perhaps, but it would be best if you intercepted them at their destination,” the lighter skinned Namekian produced a well drawn map and pointed to a point, “They will be heading here, to a bunker of ruins. There, you will find what you look for.” “Alright, then I will be back afterwards.” Perrin turned to leave. Purge's arm extended, and his hand pressed against Perrin's shoulder, turning him back around. His other hand lowered and, gently, he pushed his fingers against Perrin's clothed abdomen, “And when you get back, we'll discuss these. They won't be easy to heal, but we'll do what we can.” Perrin startled, his eyes wide. His new scars had been hidden perfectly well beneath his clothing. He shot a glance between Purge and his companion, but couldn't read anything from either. His eyes settled on the long robed Ji-Chou. The human sword master shifted his body slightly, twisting a long weed between his lips and teeth. Something dark and familiar passed underneath his visage, and Perrin absorbed pieces of what lay beneath. Instantly, he recognized the marking as buried insanity, and for a moment, Perrin understood why Kami had originally suggested he seek them out. Quietly, Perrin shook off the shock and nodded. As he turned away from Purge, he left behind his two acquaintances in favor of his comrades. With map in hand, Perrin disappeared into the forest and headed due north through an overshadowed path, with secrets left untold.

"Alright, shall we move as the bird flies, or take the traditional route by foot?" Zuccil asked curiously. "Flying would be considerably faster, but we should take into account the possibility of insulting the natives by bypassing their traditions. It might make all our lives easier in the long run to stick to ground level." Zuccil was excited about the possibility of being able to finally defend himself against the type of attack he and Bardock suffered back on Vegeta. And it would prove equally beneficial against Sprout, provided Sprout did not gain the same abilities. Of course, the rivalry between Zuccil and Sprout had always been as much a battle of the mind as of the body, and he wasn't sure he wanted such a vast mental advantage. It was rather a strange emotion, but Zuccil wanted to fight Sprout at his best. He became suddenly aware that he'd fallen into something of a trance, and wasn't sure how long he'd been sitting there lost in thought, or even if anyone had spoken while he was in said state. He blushed a little bit as he looked around to see if anyone had even noticed his mental wanderings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WC: 199 TWC: 662 TSWC: 2,157/6,200 |

Flight or ground level; while Android 16 agreed that flight would be faster and no doubt easier, he also wished to experience things as the natives did. Android 16 viewed it as an excellent way to gain insight and experience; both things he sought in his quest to better understand himself and others. “I vote we go on foot. It could be a fun excursion, and we might see some interesting things, though I also say we shouldn’t linger just for sightseeing. Fast movement would be best, I think.” With his opinion on it now stated and out there, Android 16 would wait for the others to make themselves ready. One of Android 16’s advantages to being a machine was his ability to carry numerous items on his person without feeling the weight of it, or inside small compartments scattered through his body, used for smaller weaponry. Weaponry; something about that word disturbed him for a reason 16 was unable to locate. While being a user of weaponry, he found himself bothered by it even though he had chosen to use it for protection rather than aggressiveness. It was one of those things Android 16 hoped to learn at some point in his journey. As Android 16 focused his thoughts on that, he found himself beginning to become aware of something new; something in the air around him, or maybe it was just in his mind. It was something Android 16 could not quite find a word to describe, but it was something new. Something faint and just at the edge of his awareness, and it was drawing his attention. Android 16 would snap to attention once everyone else was ready to leave, waiting to hear their opinions on which method of travel to take. Once it was decided, he would go along, keeping quiet as his mind sought that strange, new thing 16 had become aware of a short bit ago. --- WC: 322/657 Quest: 2,479 |

It did not take Bulma too long to return to the group; if half an hour was considered short. She was fully clothed and clean from the engine oils and transmission fluids. “I don’t know how to fly, so I think I am grounded to choice two for sure.” She said while adjusting the bracers on her wrist. “I do agree with your idea of tradition; I am one who abides by all laws of traditional values. I also get air sick if that makes any sense,” she laughed a little and looked between everyone else. “Are we ready to go?” Her eyes fell on Zuccil, and she saw his trance state, but she wasn’t nosy enough to invade his privacy. A blink from his eyes and he was snapping out of it. She smiled and thumped him over his forehead. “Come on, you are the leader for this one; you were given the map after all.” She looked over toward Android 16 and Aria; such a nice experiment to see if those two will adapt to the powers. She took another look at the letter and read it completely. It was not too long before they were on the move and she walked near Zuccil, who would be the reader of the map of course. Her curiosity was reaching a peak and she finally decided to ask him. “It seems there is an enemy you are trying to defeat. I don’t know much about it. Could you please share it with us? It would seem these powers would help battle against this foe.” Bulma’s eyes scanned the area as she asked the question, they were getting close to their destination. They were trekking in the wood now. Bulma could hear small voices dancing in her head, but she ignored them for the most part. It was the nature of this world to have various unknowns tapping into her mind. “Aria do you hear these things? I want to know if I am going crazy or not. Wait, I should ask you or Android 16. Zuccil do you hear the voices?” Bulma’s eyes closed and a piercing headache stabbed her in the temple of her head. “It is slightly annoying to hear them.” --------------------

-------------------- Aria knew it would be better to fly; it was faster. Butterflies flitter around the ground and caught her eye for a slight moment. This moment had her lose out on her making the first vote. It would not have mattered, seeing that everyone else had picked the opposite of what she wanted to do. Aria sighed. “Fine, I guess we can walk.” Aria stood to her feet and she followed after everyone. Despite the time of day, it was dark in the forest they entered. Her eyes were quickly filled with thoughts that felt physically seen through this infinite darkness. She could barely see the person in-front of her, which was Bulma, and she turned around to see the darkened figure of Android Sixteen following them. “Android One Six, are you starting to hear any voices in your head?” Aria was not hearing anything just yet, but the anticipation was driving her insane. Her cheeks puffed out for a moment as she thought about the powers. “Figured it wouldn’t work on us machines. And I really wished to be a psychic robot, or something crazy like that.” Aria sighed and continued deeper into the dark forest. “This really sucks,” she said while ducking underneath some vegetation. “Sometimes I wish I was human. All of those perks you obtain while being human are more valuable than this tin can of a head that I was born with,” Aria started to say before she was caught off by a lingering voice which started to screech in her head. She looked to where she thought the source was coming from and saw that no one was near the source. So she could also hear these voices which started to pile up around her being as they had neared the ruins. Could it be true that these psychic powers were not something just for organics? “I-I think I am hearing things now!” Aria was a little excited as the voices filled her head and made her turn around and stare at places which made no sense for sources of sound. “It is a little creepy. Like one of those scary movies or something like that. Android One Six, are you hearing them too!?” Aria’s concentration was put instantly on her surroundings rather than where she was supposed to be moving. --------------------

Zuccil heard the voices as well, and something about them didn't no bode well to him. He wanted to be out of this accursed forest, and if he was reading the map correctly, it would not be much longer. Zuccil tried dozens of methods to push the invading thoughts out of his mind, but to no avail. "Let's keep it moving, guys, we're nearly there." he said as calmly as he could. "And to answer your question Bulma, yes, there is someone, or something, on this planet that at least claims to pose a serious threat to the galaxy at large. Bardock and I were attacked while we healed from a difficult battle back home. The assailant attacked our minds, and I intend to be able to adequately defend myself should he strike again. Of course, I certainly wouldn't expect any of you to engage in such an encounter without protection, thus I brought this to your attention." The voices were growing louder in his head, to where he barely hear his own thoughts, and there were so many he was incapable of distinguishing one from the other. It was a cacophonous rattle of noise that he didn't want in his head. He actually dug his pinky finger into his ear and wiggled it, in some vain hope that it might at least turn the volume down. "At first chance, I would love to learn a technique that allows me to block out these thoughts we're all hearing." he said gruffly as they approached what appeared to be at least a clearing in the army of trees they found themselves marching through. "I don't know about the rest of you, but all this noise is giving me a headache." No sooner did he speak, and everything stopped, the noise just vanished as they broke the plane of the tree line. Zuccil certainly felt that the buildings the approached looked a little to well maintained to be called ruins, but they were clearly not in regular use by any particular group of people. He looked around with a great deal interest as the approached the central square of the ruins. "Call me crazy, but this doesn't look like Kanassan architecture, unless I'm very much mistaken. At least it looks nothing like any of their modern construction." said Zuccil in a curious tone. He lead the way inside the main temple, where the X lay exactly on the map. Inside he felt as though something were pressing in against his mind, as if the voices sought to bombard him again, but now found themselves blocked by some invisible barrier that was beyond Zuccil's control. He strained to ignore the pressure as he lead the group to an altar at the far end of the main chamber. "Well, I suppose if we are to gain these power, this would be the place to do it, eh folks?" he asked in a light-hearted tone as he looked up at a rather unique shrine that sat atop the altar. Somehow, Zuccil knew this shrine was the key to power they all sought, but the question was how to activate it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WC: 525 TWC: 1,187 SWC: 3,764/6,200 |

-------------------- ”I see, well then monkey guy, thanks for the consideration.” Bulma swatted away a few leaves that were blocking her path and she looked back to Aria as she heard the robotic girls excitement break into the air. It added onto the annoying banter she was already dealing with but it was something of interest to hear. Aria’s body, which Bulma hadn’t had a chance to look inside, was easily much different than the average android. Her skin was soft to the touch, yet it was durable in combat. The punishment Aria was seen taking during the Invasion on Damaskia was amazing; hell Bulma did not think Aria was going to make it after the explosion shredded her body. If Bulma did not witness Aria’s wires and circuitry for herself, then she surely would think Aria to be human. Now the girl was hearing the same voices in her head as, I wonder what it will take to defeat Sprout. These powers might help us against Tor’aak! Ugh these voices in my head are getting outrageous. Learn to control the power. Learn to control the power. The altar. The altar. You are getting closer to— YOU ARE GETTING CLOSER TO THE ALTER!! IT IS NEAR YOU!!! SET YOUR MIND FREE!!! I like pie! Shut up! You moron I’m a sex addict. Like it’s a real disease with doctors, medicines, and everything. First things first, but not necessarily in that order. What was I supposed to get for breakfast? I always forget Monkies!! Yes, please shut up. Oh god, these voices are getting extremely strong! Bulma, once they were near the altar, dropped to one knee and her eyes lowered down to almost closing. “Oh god, these voices are getting extremely strong. I can barely pick my own thoughts out of the mess. I hope you know how to get this going Zuccil; I can’t think straight.” Her hands covered her head and she began to breathe harder than she was before. “Geez, I know in the movies that psychic powers gives you a headache, I just didn’t think it would be the worst headache you’ve had in your entire life.” --------------------

-------------------- Aria listened intently to Zuccil as he spoke about the looming threat. So it was possible they could be attacked here and it was going to be more of a mental battle than it would be physical. Being cocky by nature, Aria smiled. Perrin and she have been through a great deal and there was a battle that approached the both of them and this power which they will need for this new threat will be another stepping stone to give them both a new edge. “As a guard, I will safeguard even your thoughts if I have to Zuccil,” she said before looking over to Bulma who she saw having a small break down. The voices were not that powerful in her head so it was a little hard for her to empathize with the blue haired samurai. They stopped and she was able to feast her eyes on an altar of some kind. Zuccil was examining it and she had not a clue what Android Sixteen was doing at the time. She still wanted to know if he was hearing those voices deep within like she was. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. “Bulma, I think this is a test. These voices are meant to warp your mind and train it for the power that is to come to us soon. Try and bear with it for now. Zuccil will get the altar working and we will gain the knowledge of control to this psychic ability.” Her scouter registered the lustrous green alien and her eyes opened instantly. She turned her face and her serious and deep expression melted away with her thoughts and worries. With twinkles that rivaled the radiance of the stars, Zarbon was shining in her eyes. A red tint, starting from under her nose and spreading to the corners of her cheek, appeared on her face. “Oh my, uhm, y-yes that is my name. It is a pleasure to mee--, I’m a sex addict. Like it’s a real disease with doctors, medicines, and everything.” She gasped as a random stray thought broke from her mind and into her throat. It escaped with ease and jumbled up what she was supposed to say. “Oh my, I totally didn’t mean to say that!!!” Her red cheeks went from a light rosy color to a depth that was redder than blood itself. --------------------

Android 16 had followed along with them, mostly in silence as his mind worked to meld with the tugging he was feeling on the edge of his consciousness. Android 16 was finding his experience to be different compared to what the others seemed to be undergoing; while he could hear the whispers, he did not feel as if they were invading his mind so to speak. They were there, on the edge where he was aware of them, could hear and sense them, but they did not seem to become an actual part of his thought process. With even Aria seeming to become affected by it, Android 16 began to suspect it might have something to do with the more mechanical nature of his mind. While Aria was a machine as well, her entire system seemed built to replicate organic functions down to the smallest details, while Android 16’s organic similarities were more so cosmetic than functional; something that resulted in being one of his biggest personal challenges to overcome. Thinking on this even as they entered ruins finally, Android 16 would begin to go over more artificial manners with which he might integrate this telepathic ability more directly into his systems. It would be as they arrived closer to the shrine that an idea would form in Android 16’s mind about a way to perhaps connect his artificial mind more closely to this more spiritual of occurrences. Android 16 was aware that by integrating the Gem of Telepathy into his actual circuits, he had gained access to its’ capabilities despite his inorganic existence; perhaps the gem would be key to bringing this latent ability further into his consciousness. If nothing else, it would prove to be valuable data for the future, or at least that was what Android 16 hoped. With his system beginning to analyze and begin distributing the gem’s latent powers throughout his mental processes, Android 16 would note with a sense of joy that the voices on the edge of his awareness were coming into a more solid focus in his mind. Even so, though, they did not invade his mind to the extent he had expected; something else he would attribute to his mechanical thought processes. Perhaps it was for the best though, given the reactions some of the others were having. Android 16 was thankful for this ability to analyze yet separate the voices from his own processes; a rare time that he would be grateful to be a machine. “So there is a chance of a threat appearing here? I think with all of us together, we could manage to an extent, no matter the power one might hold. If it becomes a mental battleground, well, two machines on your side would no doubt be an advantage, or at least a distraction before overheating,” that last bit said with a bit of a joking tone. An attempt to show that he was at least slightly adapting to utilize human characteristics. ------ WC: 497/1,154 Thread Total: 5,534 |

Blood sprayed from Perrin's nose as he gripped his skull and staggered from side to side, his shoulders slamming into the rough bark of nearly every tree he passed. Pain squeezed his skull and ripped into his temples. His vision shifted from blur to crisp over and over as he was bombarded with mind fracturing whispers. His jaw stretched and clenched in an attempt to push away tension. A bright light appeared at the edge of his view, marking an end to the forest, and slowly, he pushed himself towards it, staggering worse with every few steps. “Little Green Bug..Little Green Bug... Foooood For Us! Yes! Little Green....Buggggg” A high pitched and scratchy voice cut through the others, piercing Perrin's skull. He barely kept his footing. “Little Green Bug.... Little Green Bug... just a little furrrrrther...” The voice whispered again, scratching away at Perrin's brain. Further and further, he stumbled and bounced from tree to tree, until suddenly, an explosive pressure slammed into his shoulders and sent him face first into the mulched forest ground. Perrin struggled against the weight on his back, but rather than make any resistance, he merely crippled against himself in response to the bladed digging within his skull. His teeth bared as slobber spat from between his fangs and hung low into the ground. He twisted and writhed, feeling as sharp wood barbs snagged his skin and a warm substance wrapped his exposed skin. “Leave me alone...” he squirmed against the weight, blood slowly dripping from his nose and ears as the voices intensified, “Leave me alone, leave me alone, leave me......” His body convulsed slightly and his head whipped, smashing his temple in the process. His world lit on fire, and as each moment passed, he found it harder and harder to move his limbs. His body jerked and twisted again, and the pain throbbing through his temple began to drown out the scratching and thrashing whispers within his head. Enough of his mind settled and Perrin thrust his head back, smashing it into a warm and soft bundle of flesh. His neck crawled and pricked. Goose pimples surged to surface. He jerked his arm quickly, trying to move, but found himself bound down and against the ground. His chest shuttered and heaved. His breathing slowed and strained against his quickly forming bounds. Suddenly, his neck lit up in a fiery pain. “Little Green Bug, Little Green Bug.... food for Gruloth's body... yes.... Yessssss....” The voice thrust into his head once more, hammering away at the deepest corners of his mind. Once again, Perrin's body went rigid and froze, “Little Green Bug, Little Green Bug... You cant escape me...” The voice drilled into Perrin like a syringe of morphine. Slowly, his prickles fell away and Perrin's body began to numb to the pressure pressing into his back. His breathing slowed even further, fading to a mere whisper, “What... in the … he..l..l...?” The pressure decreased and finally let off completely. From the corner of his half closed eye, Perrin saw an oversized black figure scurry across the ground, but he had already began to stop caring. His eyes dragged closed and, with a muffled yawn, he began to fall into into twilight. When he awoke, his head was throbbing. Disorientation filled his body and quickly he realized blood was rushing to his head and dripping from the mark on his temple. He was hanging upside down with his body bound. His vision remained blurred, only returning to focus at an excruciatingly slow pace. His eyes shifted from side to side, gathering and regathering information as his sight slowly began to focus. A black blur shot across his vision just as the voices began to return. “Little Green Bug is not gooey. No it is not. Why is it not gooey?” The creature struck into Perrin's head again, this time not paralyzing his body. His hand twisted against its restraint, unable to move, as his vision tightened and focused. His head pushed down, peering at the bindings around his body. A silken thread wrapped his body, from the tip of his toes, up to his shoulders. A stiff burst of air puffed from his nose, and suddenly, flames were flushing from his nostrils and lips, concentrated in form, and spraying down into the thin bindings plastering him into his jailer's web. The silken web broke away in flaming wisps, and immediately Perrin fell through the air towards the ground. His hand spread wide and slammed into the thick wooden bark of a branch, sending himself catapulting to the ground right side up. Finally, as he craned his neck upwards, he gathered a full view of his attacker, and drew in a deep breath through seething teeth and a flickering tongue. SpiderDood “Holy Hell.” Perrin whispered to himself, kicking at the ground as he bounded off to the side, attempting to put distance between himself and the massive arachnid above. “Run little bug... run... we will catch you... we will..... It is time for us to eat..” The spider's voice wound its way through Perrin's head again, once again probing for weak points. Perrin pushed back, this time, routing the monster before its numbing grip took effect once again. Immediately, he came to a stop, grinding his own unrestrained mental force into the call. The arachnid jerked back in surprise, but quickly scurried across its web, nicking and cutting several softly wrapped pods. Thick black ooze ran freely from each pod and began to congeal in groups of dark orbs. Thin, spiny legs sprouted and accompanied beady eyes. Thousands upon thousands of oversized baby spiders clambered forth and covered entire tree trunks. Invisible threads of wilk connected them to their high points as they descended upon Perrin. “For fuck's sake... Enough!” His voice exploded from his head, slamming into the monstrous spider-father. For a half second, the army of spider babies stopped, only to storm forward again. Perrin grunted. He leaped into the air, well above the forces crawling across the ground. Flames spewed in a spectacular orange and white fountain. Hanging spiders within his path caught flame and disintegrated before they could cling to him, opening his path to their parent. A surge of power thrust through his body, propelling him faster towards his target, and his arm arched backwards. The spider's thick and barbed foreleg lashed out, slamming into Perrin's abdomen much faster than Perrin could have anticipated. The spider's uncanny strength catapulted Perrin through the canopy, out of control. Higher and higher, his body climbed, and just as quickly, he plummeted to the earth beneath. As he landed, his body found solid stone, and he tested its solidity with his own. Rock crumbled to dust as he fell through layer and layer of the decrepit building, covering him in soot and dust. Finally, his body came to rest. Slowly, he sat up, groaning as he looked around. A handful of familiar people scattered the room. Long blue hair, a flaming orange mohawk, a saiyan's build.. Perrin laughed to himself as he forced himself to stand, stumbling for just a moment, before gathering his footing. “Oh.. hey kids...” He chattered, in a gruff and raspy groan.

"Hey, Perrin, nice of you to join us." said Zuccil before turning back to idol sitting upon the altar. It seemed to be emanating with a strange energy that actually set off Zuccil's scouter, but never displayed a concrete number. He actually found himself annoyed by the inane device, and he wished he could find some way to no longer need it. He pulled it off of his head so that it would shut off, muttering to himself in his annoyance, "Annoying piece of junk..." He approached the idol sitting on the altar, and it seemed to be calling out to his very mind, or at least that was the best way Zuccil could describe the sensation he felt to himself. Closer and closer he drew, and the closer he got, the more the strange little statue seemed to tug at his mental energies. He reached out and touched the miniature statue, but nothing happened, at least not at first. But when he tried to pull his hand away, it was as if he were made of metal, and he'd just laid his hand on a powerful magnet. "What the - ?!" he gasped as he tried to yank his hand away from idol. He turned back to his companions, but they were gone. He turned back around in shock, and they were all standing with him, and attached as he was to the statue. At first, Zuccil was in shock as to what could be going on, until the chamber they were in fell away around them, leaving them standing in void of purest blackness. Zuccil could see nothing but his companions and the object they all grasped. He wasn't seeing reality, but the mental plane that connected the entire planet of Kanassa. Suddenly, something new tugged at the back of his consciousness, and Zuccil became aware that he and his companions were not alone in this blackness...nor were they in good company. He snarled angrily at what felt like a bit of a double-cross to him. "Of course, it never gets to be easy!!" The statue that held him and his companions together vanished, and Zuccil's hand was freed. No sooner was he aware of his freedom, and suddenly they were all surrounded by angry looking Kanassans, but something was wrong. They looked...decayed, as if they had been dead for sometime, only to awake in this realm of the mind. Their attire also suggested an ancient time in the planet's history. "You've got to be kidding me!! We come looking for a simple idol, and get mentally attacked by a gang of ancient zombie fish-people? Anyone else think this a rather messed up way to introduce people to the world of Telepathy?" Zuccil asked as he turned and took his usual stance, left arm guarding his exposed left side, right arm guarding his head, and his stance was low and wide. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: That's right....Kanassan zombies...tbh xD WC: 483 TWC: 1,670 SWC: 7,232 |
