"Why have you done this?" Nova asked, looking down at the hurt, pained, and bruised body of the Mole Man. Following the Solar Flare, a technique that Gohan had apparently known that had let him, even this far below ground, redirect and expound upon the light of the very sun itself, the Moloids had gotten themselves into a fervor of panic and flight. Dozens were on the ground, many of them murmuring in pain, and others not moving at all. Nova waited a good three seconds, then his patience ran out and a foot slammed out into the gut of the fat, short man. "WHY?!" Screamed the man who had failed to save his own people, the man surrounded by a man who had helped get many of his own people hurt or killed, had been attacking the people on the surface that Nova haad devoted himself to protecting.

"Tyrannus." Mole Man coughed, mumbling the word out before sinking into a hacking cough. Apparently someone had run over him while he had been on the ground, stunned by the Solar flare, and had damaged something within him. Honestly, it was no less than he deserved.

"What, who is that? EXPLAIN!" Nova screamed, bending down, putting his face as close as he could get it to the mole mans, hoping to scare him into talking straight and without games.

"Tyrannus... the other Lord of the Subterrain Realm. He... forced us out. Pushed us out. My people... we had nowhere to go." Every few words was accompanied by a coughing fit, or a deep, raged indrawing of breath. "Knew the surface world... wouldn't accept us. Attacked to... try to keep people from bothering us.... Wrong, apparently." The last two words were accompanied by what sounded like a depressed, joyless laugh. "Mistaken... Overworld not... weak as I estimated."

Nova's lip curled into a snarl as he stood back up and looked at Gohan. "We'll get this guy taken care of, but we have to find out who this Tyrannus is. Stop him." Gohan nodded at him, and started speaking on his scouter- apparently to some sort of authority or something on Kanassa, apparently arranging a military pickup for the Mole Man, and some guards for the rest of the Moloids, to make sure they didn't get themselves into trouble... Or cause more of it.

“Tyrannus. We need to find him,” Gohan said, reaching down and placing his hand on the Mole Man’s forehead. He let his psychic understanding flow through him, going into the little man’s mind and then coming back with the experiences and memories the boy needed. Standing back up, Gohan closed his eyes and sighed in preparation. Opening them again his mind worked at incredible speeds, translating the information it had received into something the Psychic Master could perceive in the realm of his five other senses. A glowing blue trail appeared on the ground, starting with the Mole-Man and leading away into another tunnel.

“Follow me, Nova,” he said, walking along the trail. “I can take us back to where he came from. To where Tyrannus is.” Nova, although possibly at least a little confused at how Gohan knew, was trusting enough to assume they were on the right path.

The Half Saiyan was surprised at how elaborate the underground world was. As his mind slowly comprehended more of the memory, like a computer loading a huge file, a map began to develop in the boy’s head. Every time he thought he understood just how huge this web of tunnels and paths was, it suddenly revealed itself to be far bigger.

A somewhat interesting part of the journey was how far they had been descending. The majority of the paths so far had been downwards ramps, with the occasional straight section. Just how far downwards were they going to go before they found Tyrannus? It could get dangerous if they went too low. But the Half Saiyan later found there were much greater dangers in this place.

As he and Nova turned another corner, lit be a Beam Ball the saiyan was keeping in his hand to illuminate the tunnels, the boy saw something. A silhouette, at the end of the next path, immediately running out of sight. He heard an unmistakable scuttling.

“What was that?” He asked.

The wolf gave a low grunt, the entirety of his mind struggling to cope with what’s going on. He growled, his entire body shuddering in the still night as he tried to come to terms with what was going on in his mind. The shuddering, breaking mental boundaries that he had tried to erect while he was under Sai’s influence were already starting to break down. Kularian’s eyes closed as he tried to fight back the everything that was trying to pour through his mind. His eyes closed more tightly, tears seeming to stream from them.

He growled then, and slammed a fist into the ground, the cavern that he was in started to shake violently from the strike. Then there was a sudden addition of another before him. The wolf growled low as he looked at the other. “Who the fuck are you? And what do you want?” he growled out, his eyes flashing. The wolf stood up, his fur somewhat cleaned now, but still rather…dirty. “You had better not be from those GODDAMN Saljuk bastards, or I’m going to rip out your throat right here and now.”

The other watched him, calmly, not at all imposed by the wolf’s ferocity. “I am indeed of the Saljuk… but not of those from the temple. I come from Ru’ketal, the Soothsayer.” The words were simple, but powerful, and despite Kularian’s growing urge to rip out the man’s throat… he did not. He simply waited, watching, listening. “The Soothsayer, wishes your presence, Kularian. T he fact that you were able to overcome both Ja’rel, and Ja’vei, using but your mind, is a powerful tool. You are definitely one that we need to keep an eye on… and in that, Ru’ketal wishes to see you.”

The wolf growled, and stood up slowly, before he extended a hand outward, and thrust his palm outward, the very strength from his body shoving out the air, which collided, falling over themselves before slamming into the messenger’s chest, knocking him back a step. “Take that message back to that fuckwit you call a leader,” the wolf growled, fangs flashing in the darkness. “I don’t want to go and see him. The fuck all does he want to see me for?” eh growled out, before he turned, sitting down on the cavern floor.

The man blinked, watching Kularian as he was shoved backward. “You… are choosing to not be seen by Ru’ketal? There are none who would refuse an audience with the great Soothsayer. You must not know our ways, human,” he spoke, watching the other, knowing that, even with the fur that he wore, he was still something… normal beneath. That the wolf form was nothing more than a guise over his body. “You need to learn that these things… are not often given. You must come with me.”

The wolf gave a low growl, and looked at the other, eyes flashing once more. “You want… me to come with you, despite the fact that your whole DAMN organization has dedicated their entire fucking lives to killing me!?” he roared out, and slammed a foot into the ground, the ground once more shaking beneath him. “Why in the goddamn hell would I go through with that? You don’t understand what the fuck I’ve been through. If you don’t leave, here, now. I’m going to kill you. And I’m going to rip you apart. And eat you.” The wolf grunted, before turning away.

The Kanassan frowned, watching the other for a moment. “He knows of what lurks in that mind of yours.” Kularian froze, his body seizing up entirely. “And if you agree to meet him, he will assist you with it, you know. He will find a way to help you. The Soothsayer is one of the most powerful psychics on the planet. He will help you with this,” he continued, and Kularian’s fur stood on end as he looked over his shoulder at the other, his eyes getting their familiar red glow back. “I was sent to retrieve you, Kularian. I cannot go without you. You do not understand the honor that is being bestowed upon you by Ru’ketal wishing to see you.”

Kularian gave a low hissing grunt before he stood up, and turned to face the other. “Fine. If it will make you leave me the fuck alone, I’ll go see your psychic. But if he does one thing to piss me off, I’m going to murder your entire camp. I hope you realize what you’re doing,” the wolf spoke. The Kanassan did nothing but simply nod in response. The wolf took a few steps past the Kanassan, before he gestured to the forest. “Lead the damn way, fuck stick. I don’t have all day.” The Kanassan frowned at the wolf’s mannerisms, but nodded, taking the lead into the forests.

The time that Kularian followed, as the wolf man was led through the forest, by the Kanassan. He didn’t want to go through all this shit. He wanted to continue just doing what he had been doing, just sort of… sitting around, just waiting for the time to pass. And now, he found himself tromping through the forest, just really being incredibly irritated at the whole thing, but he couldn’t… leave. He had no way to just turn around and go. Granted, he quite literally could just turn around and leave, but if he did so, there was no guarantee that the other would be able to help him. They’d offered assistance to him, to the thing that had made a nest in his head.

But he didn’t really want to turn away from this. There was a chance for him to restore himself to his own mind, his own life. To remove that thing that kept him from livin the way that he wanted to. Whatever that thing had been, the thing that had been in his mind since he’d fought Quon. But what he could he do? He’d tried to fight against it, and tried to let his mind be reverted to the way that he’d been before everything had happened. A part of him was partially worried that his entire life had been completely fucked over, now. That his mind was too far gone for him to recover from that. The wolf growled, shaking his head.

The walk finished after a few hours, and Kularian eventually found the lair of Ru’ketal. The entirety of the trip there was full of Kularian being filled with self-pity and loathing at what he had become. But as he showed up, he felt… some how at peace. Much like he did when Sai was around, but this was different. It was like a constant presence, exuding into his mind and body, pacifying him. He looked up, looking up at the ancient Kanassan that sat before him. “Welcome, Kularian,” the male spoke, his voice seeming to emanate from everywhere around him. “You have been brought here, Kularian, to teach you how your mind is reacting to what lays within you.”

The wolf growled, and shook his head. “You don’t know what’s wrong with me, old man. Don’t think that you do,” he growled, and took a few steps forward. He pointed his finger outward, snarling slightly, even though he didn’t feel the anger and the bravado that he was letting on. He was just acting on Bravado, really, there wasn’t anything more than that. The wolf shook his head, before he tromped a few steps forward as well, further, closing the distance between himself and Ru’ketal. “What could you possibly have to show me?” he snarled, his eyes flashing, doing his best to be intimidating.

Ru’ketal’s eyes flashed once, and Kularian’s entire world went to black around him. He blinked, looking around, trying to figure out where he was. This was stupid.

The boy had done... something. Nova wasn't sure what had transpired in the few moments in which Gohan was tocuhing the head of their fallen foe named the Mole man, but when he had stood back up to his full height, Gohan's eyes were shining with new knowledge and considerations, his eyes twitching back and forth as he was metnally cataloguing something. Whatever he had done, he had learned things- which was evident in his sudden assumption of leadership. He had begun to take a more backup roll to Nova over the course of the last few days, which had been the plan all along for the extragalactic warrior. This Justice league, these heroes, had done a lot of good in the universe- but they just didn't seem to have the direction or drive that Nova possessed. He had been the commander of the largest military force on Xandar, one of the most powerful military organizations in the entire Andromeda Galaxy. Running around with a bunch of heedless, directionless vigilante's was not where he saw himself ending up.

That being what it was, it was good that Gohan, at least, wasn't being heedless or directionless at the moment. He had a goal in mind, that was obvious as he began to mvoe down the path of the tunnel they were in, heading down a few hundred yards or so before turning, and heading down another one for a while. Suddenly, there was a flash of motion in the distance, and then a sound that seemed to come from another direction. "Be prepared, Gohan. We have walked into a trap!" Nova whispered, his voice still bouncing off the walls of the tunnel about them. In the next moment something leaped from a hidden spot above him, descending from above. "Above!" Nova shouted, tossing himself to one of the walls, bounding off, leaping into the air, and round house kicking the beast just before it slammed into the empty space that the Prime had been occupying just a few instants before.

There was a scream of pain, and the underground monster was sent hurtling into the distance. Its body struck the tunnel wall farther down before slumping to the ground and staying still. Looking around, Nova could see a trio of thin, tall looking monsters coming from one end of the tunnel, and two more coming from the one closer to Gohan. They were approaching slowly, cautiously, almost scurrying down the tunnel as they got nearer, not sure how strong their foes were apparently, and wanting to take care not to get their asses beat apparently. "MORE LIGHT!" Nova shouted, seeing their small, dark eyes and knowing that creatures that lived underground were weak to the stuff. Hell, Gohan had nearly lain low an entire mob of the moloids earlier with a flash of solaresque energy.

The man didn't wait, took his own advice and began to charge energy within the quantum projectors upon his chest. Within moments it was glowing brightly... And then he let it loose, careful to make sure his energy fire straight and true down the tunnel, not wanting to kill the two of them by having it strike into the tunnel walls and bringing the will and weight of the world around them, down upon them....

“MORE LIGHT!” Nova yelled. Gohan wasn’t exactly sure how he was supposed to use Solar Flare down here; he’d need a direct tunnel upwards to the surface, and the only way to do that would be to fire a powerful beam straight upwards…which would get him and Nova killed. There was no time to explain this to his friend, but in the end it wasn’t necessary because Nova had his own attack to use.

The man fired a shot of quantum energy or whatever he used, sending it down the corridor to engulf several of the subterranean freaks the duo were meeting. The light of the attack stunned the creatures coming from the other corridor, making them rather dazed. This gave Gohan an opportunity to sprint straight at them, pulling both of his arms back with hands curled into fists.

“Come on!” He yelled, throwing an arm forward at each monstrosity, blowing both of their heads to bits like watermelons.

…What the hell was a watermelon?

Turning around, Gohan found that Nova had dealt with the enemies on his side as well. But just as the Half Saiyan was returning to his friend, without warning he heard a bursting sound and something leaped out of the dirt wall beside him, throwing Gohan into the opposite wall and pinning him there. Not wasting a second the Psychic Master’s eyes lit up with white energy before two eye beams were released from his pupils, shooting directly into the eyes of the subterranean that had jumped him. The thing let go and screeched, staggering back in pain before collapsing to the floor, defeated.

Gohan panted for a few seconds, struggling to catch his breath, and then he went over to where Nova was.

“If we want to find our target we’re going to have to go through more traps, if there are any…but you’re more perceptive than me, so if you lead we’ll at least have a chance of knowing what we’re walking in to.”

With that, the boy reached up and placed his hand atop Nova’s helmet, letting the clairvoyance that he had gained from the Mole Man flow between them. This would allow Nova, even if he wasn’t telepathically adept, to see the path Gohan had seen to Tyrannus.

“There. Now you can lead the way.”

Kularian felt the world around him, could smell it, could hear it... but he just couldn't see it. And then that was further interrupted, his sense of smell, and then hearing, and then taste, and then... touch. His body was completely numb, and his mind wasn't much better off. His eyes flickered here and there, trying to put some thought, of some kind into what was going on, but there was nothing around him, nothing at all. “What is this?” he spoke. Or at least, he tried to. However, his words were nothing. He felt the vibrations in his throat from his voice box, but nothing emerged from his maw.

Then a voice blared in his head, the voice of the man who had led him here. “Kularian. What you contain within you is the madness of a god. Not just any, but one that will surely drive you insane if nothing is done. Unfortunately, I see that about the only thing that can be done at this time is to completely render your brain inoperable. You will still be ablet o move about as you are now, but there will be no more thought for you, no more feeling. Everything that you know now, will have to be destroyed in order for this to happen.

The wolf grunted, and a low, dark laugh began to emante from him, his own power seeming to push beyond the normal limitations that were infringed upon him. “Really?” he spoke, his voice managing to find purchase within the endless voice that surrounded him. “You really think that I am so foolish as to fall for that?” He asked, before his body moved, seemingly through the darkness, grasping this Soothsayer by the throat, lifting him into the air. “Let's fucking see you try,” he growled.

Something was unlocked within Richard Rider the moment that Gohan touched his head. Visions and thoughts, a lifetime of memories, the intricate knowledge of time travel, of channeling ones own ki energy, of seeing ones father die, of... of... For a moment in time, Nova knew everything there was to know about Gohan. But then it faded, and something else rose to the surface of those thoughts, blotted them out. What Gohan had been meaning to give to him, knowledge of these caves and the being known as Tyrannus who was apparently its sole and only leader at that point. "Woah..." he muttered. Sweat was dripping down his face, sweat that hadn't been there while he had been fighting. His heart was beating faster than it had been when he had been fighting as well.

"...Warn me, next time..." Richard muttered, and almost collapsed as he suddenly felt so much fatigue. It was the strangest sensation. It wasn't the cold neausea of dying or sickness, but a tight, constricting sensation. Gohan had given him memories, sure... But he had also done something else, something that hadn't been intended. He had... well, Nova had no idea what it was yet, but he knew that in time he'd figure it out. Something had just changed within him, some connection to this galaxy and its strange inhabitants had been forge that, before had been missing- even if he hadn't realized it.

He stood back up then, tall and poweful as he concentrated on the task at hand. They had a subterranean war lord to take care of, that was all that really mattered. He could dwell on other things later. He pushed past Gohan, stepping over the charred and mangled corpses of the foes that had tried to waylay them in these tunnels. He moved further down the tunnel before making a left, and then a right a few hundred yards further. According to the mole mans memories, they were nearing the very heart of the Mole mans former kingdom. Tyrannus should have held no power or had much of a presence here at all, but from the attackers, and the complete lack of moloids in the area, it was obvious that things had greatly changed...

They did, in fact, get attacked again. About a mile deeper into the surface of Kanassa they did, by much the same group as before. They dispatched them readily enough, nowhere near as surprised by the ambush, and able to take their time and care without getting all that excited or overdoing it from the surprise. It had become rote by that point. Still, they continued on. They slowed their pace as they approached what had once been the throne room of the Mole Man. Even from farther down the tunnel, both Nova's Xandarian Novatech and the Saiyans scouter were picking up biosignatures coming from the other sides of the rock wall tunnels. There were going to be people in that chamber. Whether it was Tyrannus, or simply a mass of his army making camp there, they would soon discover...

“Ohh…Um. That usually doesn’t happen,” said Gohan as Nova had a rather disturbing reaction to his mental sharing. Perhaps such a thing wasn’t a good idea on people from the same galaxy? Had the Half Saiyan harmed his friend? Whatever, matters like that could be solved afterwards.

Nova took his turn to lead now, but unfortunately there was no way for them to avoid the next trap. But it was handled quickly. Before long they had reached their destination; a huge stone chamber, pieces of steel and rock lying around or being carried by the hundreds…no, thousands…of little creatures.

“Friends of Tyrannus, it seems,” the Psychic Master said, feeling like he was in a giant ant nest, watching the little bugs move around in their daily lives. His low mutter carried throughout the huge chamber, and all of the little freaks turned to look at Gohan and Nova. Everyone was silent for a few seconds until one of the subterraneans curiously threw his wrench at Gohan. The Half Saiyan caught it and threw it back forcefully and it hit the creature in the head, making the house of its brain burst open. “Oh…I seem to keep hurting things today…sorry, I guess.”

The other freaks weren’t taking it, however. As one tremendous force they all ran forward to attack, and it was obvious another fight was going to ensue. A huge one, this time. The Half Saiyan raised his arm and unleashed a wave of telekinetic force, knocking over the closest fifty or so of them.

“These things are pathetically weak…but there are thousands of them,” he said to Nova. “We’ll have to keep fighting until they’re all gone, I guess.”

And so Gohan fought brutally, kicking the monsters into the ceiling or blasting their limbs off. Too easy.

It got harder, though. The things started becoming more aggressive and swarming. Several times Gohan found himself absolutely covered in the stupid things. Hugging his legs, covering his chest, on his face…each time, his only choice was to forcefully unleash a shockwave of ki from his whole body, knocking them off…and expending the ki to do it started to get difficult as he tired. Slowly the things died off, however, the thousands turning to hundreds and the hundreds turning to tens. There were about fifty left running around before Gohan had to stop and stand still, panting, trying to regain his energy. The few remaining subterraneans were running away, or attacking Nova.

Gohan reached into the pouch on his belt and took a Senzu Bean, healing himself. After dealing with the last handful of them Nova was visibly fine, not nearly as tired as the Half Saiyan. The boy was tossing up whether or not to share his beans with someone who didn’t really need them or not when there was a rumbling sound.

“What the hell is…” before Gohan could finish asking his rhetorical question there was a bursting sound, like from before, and then suddenly more of those freaks leapt right out of the walls. At least a few hundred of them, now completely surrounding Gohan and Nova.

The two could do nothing but get to work again, and hope that these would be the last creatures they encountered. They were different from the last ones, however. Gohan would kick one of them and, instead of flying into a wall and bursting to pieces, the thing would bounce off, lie on the floor for a few seconds, and then get up and attack again. These ones were tougher than the last wave, somehow. Incredibly annoying…

Gohan was forced to become a Super Saiyan again to combat the creatures, cutting mercilessly through them as his transformation casted constant light around him, dazing any of the monsters that got close. At least that made this a bit easier. Hopefully Nova was doing okay as well.

"Well... here we go," Nova muttered to himself at the sight of all the little beasties who were within this open, and massively large chamber. There had to be thousands of them, not even that large apiece- they could really pack themselves in there. The battle was begun with a will almost immediately. Nova knew he had to get a better vantage point, there were simply far too many of them to stand upon the ground and fight head on. As the first wave was blown back by the first attack from Gohan, Nova rose into the air, his projectors upon his chest already gathering energy, growing brighter and brighter with quantum energy in the moments before he loosed said energy down upon the Tyrannoids. Balls of photonic energy spat from each of his three projectors, slamming into the ground, or solitary monsters and exploding. The blast backwash served to destroy more of the beasties than the actual attacks themselves.

Minutes passed, and more of the tyrannoids fell. Soon enough the chamber was nearly completely empty of them. Then, more came. He didn't even know why they bothered. By that point the two members of the justice league had killed far more than there were in the reinforcing force. At that point it was pretty much just a simple task of taking out the survivors, few by few, until there was none left who stood against them.

"Alright then..." Nova said once all the enemies were gone, dropping back down to the ground, standing there amidst the blood and bits of bodies all around. "This battle is over." Nova announced, rather obviously. "It's time to move on." He looked to the exit of the chamber and headed towards it, hearing the sound of Gohans foot falls behind him.

He had an idea where he would find Tyrannus, now. It didn't make much sense for the man to be in his original headquarters, what with his entire people being moved more towards this area. With the fact that he wasn't here, it only made certain that he was in the old Mole Man's headquarters, a bit farther down the tunnels.
