As Kularian held the other by the throat, elevated into the sky, he could feel a strange sensation forming around him. It wasn't like anything that he'd felt before. His hand tried to clasp around the creature before him, the Kanassan, but with every attempt he made to tighten his hand around the other's throat... it seemed as if he were gripping a bag of dry sand. It slipped through his fingers, until he found himself only grasping the air between his fingers. “What the hell is this?” he growled out, looking around.

The world around him was still cloaked in shadows, with nothing around him at all to see except the darkness that surrounded him. It was odd, describing that the only thing that was visible was nothing, as there was, in fact, nothing at all that he could see. And yet, it almost felt like the darkness draped around him was hiding something more, just like a curtain over his senses. He gave a low growl before he looked around, still trying to find something, /anything/ that would get him out of this funk that he was in.

But there was nothing that could be done as his eyes fell upon empty, inky blackness and shadows, and there was no scent, no sound, no anything that any of his other senses could pick up. He let loose a low growl, before he slammed a fist into the ground below him, which simply absorbed the entire ferocity of the blow with no impact. It was like he'd punched a very thick cloud, was the best way that he could describe it. “The fuck do you want from me?” he growled outward, his voice resonating only within the bowels of his throat; as it came out, it simply vanished.

He grunted; he had been able to talk a moment ago, but now something seemed to have changed. He was no longer in control... what had happened? “You are a powerful adversary, Kularian,” the vocie spoke belonged to the Kanassan, that Kular knew. “For a moment, you even were able to wrest control from me, but that is no longer going to happen. I can now see your spikes in power, and I will take measures to stop them. Regardless, there is much that we must begin with, if I am to reduce your mind to a paste so we can rebuild it.”

The wolf gave a glower to the shadows, but said nothing more, at least not for several moments. “All right then,” he finally spoke, after literally nothing happened for more than five minutes, and the wolf was beginning to lose his patience. “You want to break down my mind, so why don't you? All you're doing right now is pissing me off. And if it keeps up, I'm going to break every goddamn part of you until there's nothing left but a sack of flesh and organs,” he growled, not at all paying attention to what was going on around him.

Gohan remained as a Super Saiyan as he and Nova trekked through the corridors and paths that had been made underground in this huge, incredibly complicated network. It was his turn to lead again, and being transformed made him a light source. Very useful while underground. Plus, those things dwelling in the walls were still present, and when they attacked it was useful to be able to dispose of them quickly. As he travelled Gohan found that the path he could see to the lair was getting…brighter? Presumably this was his mind’s way of telling him they were getting closer. Gohan pointed out this information to Nova, in case he had not come to the same conclusion.

Before long there was a strange sound in the ceiling; something scurrying past. This did not faze either of the two travellers, for they knew eventually the thing would attack and at that point they would easily kill it. But it didn’t. A minute or two later they heard it again…and then again. Like a number of things were above them, waiting for something. Waiting for Gohan and Nova to…get to an ambush spot? Nah, that was stupid.

But after a while he finally sensed it. Those same subterraneans as before, at least fifty of them. Fifty didn’t seem like much of a problem, so he wasn’t sure why they were bothering. But when the things attacked it was a different story. Having let their guard down, Gohan and Nova were overwhelmed and immediately covered in the things. Using a shockwave of ki, or any attack strong enough to remove them, was a terrible idea in a small tunnel like this; a cave-in would be very likely, especially considering how the rocks and dirt holding these caves together would already be weakened by these creatures crawling through them.

So instead the only option was to painstakingly wrench them all off, one by one, while they desperately clawed at your face and arm.

“Do something!” Gohan yelled at Nova, at a loss for ideas.

The Xandarian warrior fought against the beasts that had atacked them. He punch and kicked and scraped against them, as they were him, determined not to be drug undr by the combined weight and power they possessed, determined to survive, to see this quest through to the end and survive long enough to get back to the surface world. So he fought on.

After a few moments of that shit, he decided he was tired fo playing around, and the blade attached to his quantum bands swung out and around, slicing through the head of his first victim like paper, spilling its blood and brain matter across the tunnels and his own armor and clothes in the process. He stabbed out behind him then, taking a second of the tyrannoids in the face, then sliced down and low, gutting a third in the same instant he blasted out with his opposite hands quantum bands, completely destroying a trio of the enemies that were approaching from the opposite direction.

He saw that Gohan was having more trouble, and deciding that his pal was strong enough to take it, Nova blasted out with a weak wave of energy that slammed into gohan, killing the two monsters that were holding him by the back, and hurting a third enough that it went screaming off down the tunnels instead of continuing the little battle they had started. After that, it took only a few more well placed ki attacks and slashes and stabs with his quantum blade to take down the rest of the nearby enemies.

He looked at Gohan then, the two of them surrounded by the dead bodies of their ambushers, again. "We're getting close to this Tyrannus guy." he said without preamble, it should have been obvious from the way the number, skill, strength, and ferocity of their foes were increasing the closer they got that it was true, but he just wanted to make sure the other knew it anyway. Whatever.

The continued on after that, their feet padding down the corridors with soft reverberations that bounced along the tunnel walls before and after them. Their eyes continually had to scan, making sure there were no more of the tyrannoids approaching from the sides, or behind hthem, or even from the dark structures above them were the things would absolutely love to hide if they could fit. They kept an eye and an ear out though, making their way towards the final confrontational end of this fight.

A small amount of light at the end of the next tunnel, along with the end of the path his mind was adding to his eyesight to show him Tyrannus’ location, alerted Gohan to the fact that they had arrived.

“Brace yourself,” he said in the confident, adult-like voice he took on as a Super Saiyan, along with a similarly changed personality and fighting style. “We have arrived.” As they moved through the doorway the rather dim light of the chamber failed to show just how big of a room they were in; the roof, now that they were far enough below not to have to worry about things like the surface, was at least two hundred metres high. The room stretched out at least as far as it went up, and the whole space was dominated by a huge force of Tyrannoids. “Not again…I’m sick of fighting those little things.”

The Tyrannoids watched closely as Gohan and Nova walked through, moving back to give them space, but not attacking. The two ambassadors of Justice made their way through to the very back of the chamber, where atop a large throne sat the man who was undeniably Tyrannus himself.

“Ah!” The man said, his voice booming out around the room so that every last one of his minions would hear him. “So this is the pair who slaughtered the Mole Man, then? More annoying fools to intrude upon my territory and waste my time?”

“I suppose that would be us, yes,” Gohan said, he and Nova standing their ground.

“Well then…I suppose I will have to welcome you to my new chamber.”

Gohan looked around to see that the many Tyrannoids had backed away, presumably into some sort of rehearsed formation, because Tyrannus, Gohan and Nova were now alone in a large circle of empty space.

An arena.

Tyrannus took hold of his sword before leaving his throne and walking towards the Super Saiyan menacingly.

“The two of you will face me, alone,” the leader of the Tyrannoids said. “Hardly fair…but from the looks of it a one on one would hardly be fair for either of you!” Gohan merely growled in frustration at this remark.

In an instant the man was slicing forward with his blade in an attempt, seemingly, to cut Gohan in half at the chest. The transformed Psychic Master leapt into the air, letting the strike go straight below him for landing again and throwing an arm forward, palm open.

“Hyagh!” He shouted, unleashing a wave of pure telekinetic power to throw Tyrannus backwards. As the shockwave blasted forward the leader of the Subterraneans merely staggered backwards a small distance, barely harmed at all. “Well…shit.” Gohan’s foe continued to attack, then. Slash after slash, lunge after lunge. Gohan occasionally got the chance to strike back, but his attacks never seemed to have much effect. This man was stronger than him or Nova.

“Tag out!” He yelled to his friend, speed teleporting out of the immediate combat so that Nova could have a chance to fight. Gohan then pulled both hands back to his side, cupping them and beginning to charge up energy. Might as well try to do something useful.

“Kaaa…..Meeeee…” He said, beginning to charge up blue energy in a ball between his hands. Several of the Tyrannoids were fascinated, watching the ball like they had never seen something so intriguing. Perhaps they hadn’t.

"Tag out!" Gohan shouted. Nova had been waiting for that. It didn't really suit him to fight a battle two on one, so he was going to let Gohan try his hand first. Unfortunately, the boy didn't seem all that capable of fighting a man toe to toe who was wielding a blade. It made sense. Fighting a man with a sword with just your bare hands was a hell of an undertaking to go at. It was why the Nova Corps didn't allow themselves to go into a battle without having every advantage that might be possible for them. That was why the quantum blade was part of the quantum bands, and why all warriors within the Nova Corps knew how to fight with hands, blade, and quantum power. Now, it seemed, his skill in the area of blades was necessary.

"Alright!" Nova shouted, smiling beneath his helmet as he appeared in front of the retreating Gohan, his blade coming up and blocking the downwards thrust of the man known as Tyrannus. He, surprisingly, appeared to be a Xandarianoid. A member of a race that looked very much like Rider's own home planets people. He wasn't, of course. Rider had learned that there were many such races in this galaxy, in fact it was one of the most common forms of beings in the entire universe apparently. In the Andromeda galaxy, the Skrull and the Kree had been the dominant types, with 'humanoids' as they were referred to here, being much of a minority. But here... Saiyans, Humans, Avalonians, Keliouxans, Damaskians, and other various planets and empires populations apepared to be such. It was... quite a change. It made him feel almost uncomfortable, not sure how to handle being within a majority for the first time he could ever remember.

None of that exactly mattered at the moment, however. At the moment he was invested in a life or death struggle with some sort of subturanean tyrant who had been waging an underground war against his one real rival. Such a man would be strong and powerful, to be able to control and lead so many of these beings with absolute fidelity and trust. He would not be one to take lightly. The mole man had many followers as well, but his people had been weak and pathetic. And his own empier had been much smaller in comparison to this which the lord Tyrannus had managed to scrape out for himself, and was now managing to expand through warfare and conquest.

He could feel the strength of the other as their blades crossed, could feel his arm begining to shake from the pressure of holding up such strength, to keep the sword from cutting lower, from rejecting his defense and slamming through his chest. "So... strong." Rider thought to himself. Then he was flying backwards, disorientation in his mind as he realized the fucker had just punched him in the face. He shook his head, forcing himself back on track, knowing that such a move would result in his opponent trying to use the momentary distraction to his advantage. Sure enough, as Rider's eyes opened he saw the downward stroke of a blade that he knew was meant to take his life. He rotated, throwing his blade before him and managing to deflect the force of the attack from being fully implemented against him. It didn't stop him from being forcefully thrust into the ground, however, creater a crater within the rock of the floor from the force of his impact.

Standing, Nova turned about, trying to catch sight of his opponent. What he eventually did see was a yellow glow, aimed and coming straight at him. "DAMN IT!" He shouted, his arms rising and shunting out quantum energy as fast as he could, throwing out energy to meet the incoming blast of energy. The two blasts of energy met right before him, exploding, and the force of the attack thrust into him yet again, the pressure wave knocking his ass out of the hole. He ended up hitting the ground, skidding across the ground for a dozen or so meters before managing to find his balance and throw himself backwards, back flipping to his own feet. His quantum blade was ready, already slicing through the air and coming into contact with the blade of his foe that was coming directly at him. Sparks spat as the two pieces of metal vied against one another.

No longer content to stay on the defensive in this battle, Nova threw out his leg in a blow that took Tyrannus in his gut, bowing him over. His other elbow dropped, slamming into the back of the maniacs head, dropping him to the ground in a rush. He wasn't done, however, not by a long shot. Instead, he rolled as he hit the ground, coming up and firing a ki blast point black into Nova's chest that sent him hurtling into the air before it exploded. Grunting, Nova threw his arms wide to the sides, stopping his upwards motion. At the same time, energy was channeling fast in his quantum chest projectors. "HRAA!" He shouted, unleashing a trio of blasts that spat out towards Tyrannus. The man dodged the first two, but was caught as the last exploded just a foot or so in front of him, the pressure wave of it throwing HIM to the ground...

Nova breathed out heavily, feeling fatigue from the battling start to settle in.

“Haaaaa….Meeeee…….” Gohan spent longer than he usually did charging his Kamehameha, though he suspected it had enough juice in it to kill this fiend off in one shot. Or at least, come close to it. Nova was also struggling to fight, but he managed to get in a shot that knocked Tyrannus to the ground, just a few metres away from Gohan. This was definitely his opportunity.

He began to make the final shout of his technique as he thrust his arms forward, preparing to unleash an incredible beam. Just as that moment, however, Gohan learned about the negative effects of remaining in the Super Saiyan State for a prolonged time. The hard way.

In a flash the energy between his fingers dissipated, and the Half Saiyan’s golden features returned to their usual colours. His aura broke and he fell into an exhausted stance, panting heavily. In Super Saiyan form he had struggled to keep up with Tyrannus. So, not transformed…yeah. The man immediately rolled towards Gohan and struck out with a leg sweep, sending the boy to the ground. As Gohan fell Tyrannus stood, sword raised, and the leader of the Tyrannoids struck down with his blade.

The Half Saiyan rolled to the side, hearing the sword slam against the ground next to him. The sword came up and struck down again, and now Gohan had to roll backwards, up onto his feet, to get away from the attack. And then Tyrannus was right there in his face, throwing his arm forward. His fist hit the Psychic Master hard in the face, knocking him to the ground again.

And once again the sword was raised, and brought down upon him. This time Gohan raised his own arm and, as the sword reached him, he took telekinetic hold of it. Tyrannus was a strong man and the blade merely slowed for a moment, but then it came to a complete stop, resting right above the boy’s head.

Gohan slowly crawled away, careful to keep himself as low to the ground as possible, sliding out from under the sword as he struggled to hold it there. It felt like hours, but it was a mere few seconds before he was free. Then he finally let go, allowing the blade to slam into the ground with its momentum lost.

Gohan got up again now, trying to get into the Tiger Claw stance as he panted heavily, struggling to stay on his feet. He looked at Nova, who still looked somewhat ready to fight. But he knew that without the two of them fighting together, Gohan’s friend had no chance. So he’d have to stay on his feet.

The Half Saiyan stumbled towards Tyrannus, preparing to fight again.

“Don’t delude yourself,” the older man said, raising his free hand and shooting it across Gohan’s face in a backhand. The strike knocked the Half Saiyan pathetically to the ground, much to the pleasure of the spectating Tyrannoids. “You have lost. And now, after I finish off your friend…you will both become my slaves.”

Nova drew in ragged gasps of breath as he levitated in the air, watching Gohan struggle to survive against the obviously stronger warrior. When the boy had fallen out of his transformed state, as they called it, it had taken Nova completely by surprise. He had yet to see a weakness in using such a form, and had begun to wonder why people just dodn't walk around like that all the time if they were able. Now, he was beginning to get an inkling of why one wouldn't. It was physically taxing, obviously. Gohans Electron and Neutrino counts were ridiculously low, as compared to what they had been. In fact, they were much lower than the boy usually had when he was in his regular form, as he was now. That meant... That meant that using a transformed state sapped your power, and that in time it could cause you more harm than good.

Now, he understood. Before, Nova hadn't believed it was possible to create power from nothing, to create matter (neutrinos and electrons) from nothing. Now, he saw the truth. The creation was spurned within the body, eating up energy and reserves that were held in storage for such times. When a transformed state was used, it wasn't actually making the person stronger, it was simply transforming the necessary energy for survival into more temporary power. Nova assumed that Gohan would be ravenously hungry, and tired for some serious naps once they got out of this fight. If they did.

Knowledge successfully catalogued, Nova decided it was time to get back into the thick of it. Tyrannus was giving a speech or something to Gohan. As fast as he could, the Xandarian warrior sped across the distance, raised his arms over his head, and slammed them down towards Tyrannus back as he approached. The attack never landed. Almost without effort Tyrannus turned, his blade coming to bear as he did so. In the very last instant, Nova saw the critical error he had made. The next moment, his inertia and momentum forcefully thrust his body along the entire length of the Tyrants sword. "Tsk. Tsk..." Tyrannus put one finger to his chin as if in thought, "Now, I bet you regret coming to my home, and disrupting my children with all this foolishness, don't you?" That free hand of the Tyrannoid leader moved, pressed itself against Nova's chest, and then shoved him off the blade as he pulled it free, flicking it to the side in a swift motion to remove the blood upon it as best he could.

Nova, however, wasn't really paying attention. He was more concerned with the fact that darkness was closing in around his eyes, and the blood that was dribbling out of the sides of his mouth. He tried to speak, tried to yell for Gohan to make a run for it... But he couldn't. His lung had been pierced, and all of the oxygen in him was rushing through that wet, bubbly blood that was spurting out of his chest and pooling around his bloodied body.

Gohan didn’t remember much, as the next few days went by. A few memories were still in his head. Being dragged through the corridors of Tyrannus’ new headquarters and thrown into a cell. Struggling to get up as Nova was thrown in after him. Waking up from his sleep periodically over the next few days to eat. A lot. Tyrannus made sure there was constantly an incredible supply of food to help Gohan recover from his over-using of the Super Saiyan form.

He knew days were passing, but he wasn’t sure how many. Eventually the effects of the transformation wore off, however, and he awoke one morning to find clarity had returned to him. Once again, he could remember and function properly. He got up and studied the cell bars, finding Nova had given up long ago. The Half Saiyan knew a good bit about the minerals in his galaxy, and he recognised this stuff. Gigatanium. Strong enough to stop any physical attack, and with the rare property of complete ki conductivity. Any energy attacks would be immediately absorbed.

At first Gohan acted as Nova had been, sitting around, waiting for an excellent idea to come into their heads. Obviously it was never going to happen, but there was nothing else to do. Gohan was later told that Tyrannus had said he would give them a week to rest before they would be put to work. And, although it hadn’t come to him in a single revelation, the boy had worked on a plan revolving around that. He’d lost a few days to his recovery so he didn’t have long, but while he got Nova to sit out and watch the patrols, learn the system as other prisoners were taken to start their slave lives, he worked out something that just might work.

Finally the day came and at dawn, an hour before the time would come, Gohan used Deca Form. He was pretty sure Tyrannus couldn’t sense, meaning that it would be much easier to stay undetected. Eventually, Tyrannus himself was at their cell with two Tyrannoids to assist him. As he was arriving Gohan’s Deca used the Wizard Belt, a gift from the Next Dimension, to turn himself completely invisible. Nova and the original Gohan were lead out into one of the workrooms, where the many Tyrannoids slaved away, carving at a stone wall and expanding it to make a new room for the underground base.

“My two minions here will show you the ropes, and I will be back in a few hours to see how you are performing,” the leader of the Tyrannoids said, walking off. As the Tyrannoids showed Gohan and Nova how to carve at the stone, mostly through gesturing and performance rather than words, Gohan’s Deca got to work.

Although their hands were freed so they could work, captured slaves had extra security to make sure they wouldn’t attack or flee. Special foot grips were bolted into the ground at the spot they would be working, and after being locked in they would carve away at the wall until the end of the day. Overnight, a Tyrannoids would unbolt them and move them forward if necessary. It was a tedious system, but it worked. Prisoners’ cuffs kept their hands stuck behind their backs until they were securely in the foot grips, to make absolute sure they didn’t try anything. However, Gohan and Nova had developed a way around this.

The Deca snuck behind Nova first, using a key he had pickpocketed to unlock the man’s cuffs. He held them lightly together with telekinesis so that it would look like they were still locked, but the grip was weak enough that when he needed to Nova could rip them off with little resistance. He went and did the same for the real Gohan as well, also holding them together with Telekinesis. His work done the Deca disappeared, his power and the responsibility of holding the cuffs together moving to the original Gohan. There would be a few minutes still before they were going to be locked into their foot grips, and the two had agreed prior that Nova would decide when they would break free and attack. So all that Gohan had to do now was wait.

The first night in the cell had been hell for Richard. That was who he was, after all... They had stripped him of his Quantum projectors, his Quantum Bands, his Photonic Energy Shield Generators, his Tachyon Electrode helmet and neuron connections. He was Nova no more, simply a man with a hole in his belly that was being healed by microbial biorganisms that secreted healing... juice or some shit as they ate away the dead and ruined skin. It took days for him to heal properly, and even then he wasn't at a hundred percent, doubt he would be for months.

He hated being out of his armor. It made him feel... nostalgic, vulnerable. He had barely been outside the protection of the gear since entering this galaxy, except for showering and such. It had not been the same back home. Back upon Xandar, a Corpsman only wore the armor during battle or intense training. He had walked around most his days as a simple man with a clean cut look. Here... here, he had to wear the armor and gear to be a comparable warrior with the rest of these insane bastards that ran around. Without it, he was weak as a babe. It made him think of days at home, of his wife and children- and he hated to think of those things.

Eventually, Gohan had come up with a plan for escape. Nova, who by that point had been rather recalictrant and depressed, had not eagerly jumped upon the idea. Instead, it had taken days of convincing and prodding. He had agreed, in time, if just to shut the other up. Perhaps he would die. That would be preferable to continuing to exist as a... a nothing. A shell of memories and failures, hanuted by the ghosts of his personal dead.

The day to escape finally came, however. Working upon the machine or whatever that Tyrannus had him doing, he was surprised by the sudden click of his chains, and realized that he was no longer bound. He looked around, cautiously, sure that one of the Tyrannoid guards had heard and would come to investigate. But, they had not. They barely seemed to keep a watch on the prisoners at all. Standing there, Nova waited... waited... And when one of the Tyrannoids were close, he made his move. He went low, grunting in pain as he swept his feet out, taking out the passying tyrannoid with such a surprising move that it simply squawked as it fell, its hands releasing the powerful rifle it held to guard the prisoners with. Nova, rising back into the air, grabbed it, shouldered it, and fired at the next nearest Tyrannoid- whose mouth was just opening to shout in surprise or shock at what it had just seen.

It never got that chance to shout. Instead, its head blew up as the ray of light from the guy impacted it. Turning, Nova blew another Tyrannoid up. "FREE THEM!" Nova shouted, probably to the invisible clone of Gohan. "We must create chaos!" Taking his own advice, he turned the gun towards the leg chains of a nearby row of prisoners, and began to let loose small bursts of energy that melted and broke apart the links- freeing them. Other prisoners picked up the weapons from the fallen guards, others ran... Chaos, indeed, was beginning to reign within the tunnels of Tyrannus...

“FREE THEM! We must create chaos!” The now completed Gohan, both original and Deca in one, did as such. Breaking free of his cuffs he ran along the many rows of prisoners, one by one firing shot after shot at the many slaves working away. He aimed them all so that his small beams would merely hit the locks keeping the minions in place, not hurt them. In a few moments the combined efforts of Gohan and Nova had created an incredible riot aas Tyrannoid after Tyrannoid ran out of the room and fought their way through the corridors, creating chaos. Soon the workroom was empty.

“Come on, let’s find your gear!” Gohan yelled. He knew Nova would never learn without the suit he wore. Hell, it was pointless anyway since chances were they would confront many Tyrannoids, or possibly even Tyrannus, on their way out. And if that happened Nova would need his powers.

Fighting Tyrannus again. Gohan pondered that as he shoved his way past the prisoners he had freed and the guards trying to hold them back as he checked room after room, Nova right behind him. His plan had been to escape, prepare, and then come back with his friend when they were fully ready to fight. Hopefully that was what would happen.

It wasn’t, however. At the very end of the hallway the Half Saiyan kicked down a door to find Nova’s suit on a table surrounded by equipment and monitors. Had Tyrannus tried to study the technology of another galaxy in the last few days? How interesting.

“Suit up,” he said to his friend, leaving the room to stand guard. There were very few in this part of the caves, as the rioting seemed to be occurring elsewhere. So it was very surprising when he heard a familiar adult voice ringing down the hallway.

“Protect the suit! Don’t let them take the suit back!” Tyrannus yelled as he rounded the corner nearby, and stormed down the corridor towards Gohan. The Half Saiyan immediately powered up to a Super Saiyan again, knowing he would have no chance without his transformation. This time was different, however. Last time he might have been able to get the jump on Tyrannus, if it weren’t for his inconvenient return to base form. But that only happened because he had neglected to give himself a rest from the form before. Now he had been given a week of rest and food, so at the very least he had a chance. “Move away from that door, boy!”

“No.”

“Arrrgghhh!” Tyrannus dived forward, lunging with his blade, but Gohan rolled out of the way. The door was unblocked, now, but not wanting a shot in the back the Half Saiyan’s foe had no choice but to keep attacking. He walked forwards, swinging his blade back and forth, and Gohan walked backwards at the same speed. As he ducked and swung away from the slices of the sword Gohan charging a ball of energy in his hand, several times the size of his head. After at least twenty slashes Tyrannus stopped to recover, and this was when the boy made his move.

“Big Bang Attack!” Gohan yelled, raising his hand and firing the blue blast. He was close enough to his enemy that he was knocked back slightly by the explosion, but Tyrannus took it far worse. Hit head on he was knocked backwards through the air, all the way across the distance he had just covered, landing him right in front of the door to the lab where Nova’s armor was.

“You…” The man said, slowly getting to his feet. “Stupid boy. You infiltrate my underground land…cause chaos in my halls…and now you refuse to die?! I will—” Tyrannus’ speech was cut short as the door next to him was kicked open, and a blast from Nova’s Quantum Bands hit him in the side, knocking him away like Gohan’s attack had.

“Let’s do this,” Nova said, stepping out of the room fully suited up.

"TYRANNUS!" Nova roared, walking through the room, his quantum bands upon his wrist, aimed at the Tyrant of the underworld of Kanassa. "NOW IS THE TIME OF YOUR RECKONING!" And in the next instant, the man was being forcibly flown across the room, his body at the head of a blast wave of nuclear energy fired from the quantum bands. He slammed into a pair of downward moving fists from Gohan, the force of which nearly crumpled the being as he hit the ground, hard.

Slowly, he stood, dusting off his shoulders as he did so, attempting to keep a look of respectable pride about him. "You two are fools. I have destroyed you once with my power... Now... you have no idea what I am capable of!"

Nova's eyes widened as his sensors began to display readings. Tyrannus pulled free a small jewelers box from a pocket, and opened it. Inside was a glowing yellow ring. "No... No, you can't!" Nova shouted, his eyes moving back and forth across the screen. "GOHAN KILL HIM NOW BEFORE HE..."

Nova was thrown from the room, blacking out for an instant as his body slammed into a wall and then richocheted down the tunnel further. Gohan was nowhere within sight. The last thing he had remembered seeing, was Tyrannus putting that golden, glowing ring upon his finger...

Stumbling to his feet, Rider moved back towards the chamber room, utterly aghast at what he saw. There was no chamber, and not all that far down, there was no more tunnel. There was... nothing, but a giant, massive hole, a crater, where once there had been a subteranean civilization. He was standing upon the edge of a precipice, amazed to see sunlight shining through. "What... has he done..." Nova whispered.

In the instant in which Tyrannus had put the ring on, a ring created to mimic the properties of the Quantum Bands that Tyrannus had taken from Nova and apparently studied over the past week, there had been an explosion... That explosion had... had...

The tyrannoid civilization was gone. Completely... A fifty mile diameter hole was all that was left of what had once been hundreds of thousands of subterranean dwellers.

Nova began to search for Gohan then, hoping the boy had made it out alive. Nova had been protected by a forceshield that had been thrown up by his armor in the instant before the attacks pressure wave had hit him. He had no idea if Gohan was alive, if he had even known what was happening before... before... "GOHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN" Screamed Nova. Screamed a man who had watched an entire planet die, an entire people... Because of him. And again, his power... his technology had caused...

"GOOOOOHAAAAAAAN!" He shouted into the void, hoping beyond hope... That he had not been responsible for the death of one more friend.

Gohan did not answer. Nova stood there for a long time, simply looking at the destruction. He had no idea what he would do now, where he would go. Hell, he still hadn't met any other members of the Justice League, how was he going to explain what had happened without them assuming he was some sort of villian that had killed their friend. His tech had been the cause, and he was an unknown person. Of course they would be suspicious. He would too.

The wolf let out a low growl; he wasn't sure how much time had passed since he'd been here, but it was obvious, to him at least, that this Kanassan, just like all the rest, was going to try and shatter his mind and make him no better than dead. But the wolf was not one who appreciated that type of treatment, and was working on fully removing himself from the binding insanity that kept him in here. His body shook with rage, and while his own vision seemed to swim a bit, he had absolutely no reasons to stop.

“You think that you can contain me?” he growled out, the voice deep, dark, murderious. It seemed that everyone was trying to contain him, and now all that was doing was pissing him off before more than he had been prior. Every goddamn step that he went through, trying to rid himself of the anger, of the madness, that suffused him was one step more that he was enraged, driven further into that corner. These bastards were trying to contain him, to effectively shatter his mind, to make him into a vegetable. Why wouldn't he rebel?

The wolf let out a howling roar as his aura began to build up around him. He realized that, while he was trapped in this inky darkness of his own mind, but that just trapped his senses. His body here, in the real world, was still able to move around, and if he gave enough of a tantrum, he was certain he could do something that would shake this Kanassan from hounding his mind. With a roar, he slammed a fist into the ground, the red aura around him flaring outward as he did so, the rage building within him before he struck again, and again, sending waves of force outward from his body.

And then, suddenly, the fog around him lifted. Looking up, he saw that the temple, the hideaway that this Soothsayer was living in had crumbled, shattering around itself, and the man found himself staring down at the elder Kanassan, who looked up at him with both fear and sadness in his eyes. “You're not something that belongs in this world. Your presence here is merely tolerated, but if you continue this warpath, notice will be taken of you.”

The wolf grinned widely, then, fangs glinting in the light. “Perfect,” he growled, before slamming his foot down, crushing the other's skull.
