As the body was taken away on a stretcher, the messenger returned. He looked at Rei strangely during the prior encounter, rather strangely. It was something that the man had done, it was very much like an exorcism, but he did not know any of the words that the two had spoken to each other. If he had to say, it was similar to what the Blue Rose had spoken when they didn't want him to understand them. What they had spoken was more of a slang, he believed. But this one spoke true their native language. He saw that even some of the Blue Rose were confusedas to what had been said between the unnamed Paladin and the captured stranger. However, he was grateful to him that he had destroyed evil, and not an innocent.

As soon as the room was mostly cleared from, the messenger stepped forward and looked between the two of them before he placed a hand on Rei's and Eldrea's shoulders. "I do not know your name, Paladin, nor did I know that you were here. But I am grateful that you were here this day, and able to do what was nessisary to save that man." He saw that Rei had not flinched upon being's touched, but his face still remained in the hood. The messenger nodded towards Eldera as his tone grew cold, "I want to see his face. Remove the hood."

Rei was surprised that a messenger would say such things, but Eldera could not act suciously. The drow narrowed his eyes and placed a hand on the man's arm, "I am sorry sir, but the exorcism has taken some strength away from me. I would like to rest for an hour. Then we can have our discussion." It was not an unreasonable request. After all, the removal of that spirit of madness had taken a heafty toll on his ki. His eyes turned to his mentor, who nodded his head, in agreement. The messenger paused a moment before he nodded; the only condition was that he would wait exactly one hour, outside of Rei's door, and enter after that hour.

Rei went to his old room, followed by his master and the messenger. It was still the same room, and no one seemed to have been in it since he had left. He looked back and bowed to the messenger before he slipped in. The Tiste Andii people and their ways of handling guests obviously would not work in this situation. He bit his lower lip as he tried to think of a solution when a dark portal opened in the room. A Tiste Andii slipped out, who placed a hand on his arm that went for a sword as he said, "Please don't slash me. It would not end very well for me, nor you, Master. I am Yamaru, an I've followed you within Kurald Galain. The situation is dire indeed."

With a pause, the drow narrowed his eyes at the man before he saw the bow. Yamaru was never without a bow, and he belived that the man would be nearly useless without it. Rei quickly came up with an idea, and Yamaru praticed being Rei. They exchanged clothing and Rei slipped into his own opening to Kurald Galain before the hour was up and entered his true room; the room that he had within that was a replication of his room within the Moon's Spawn. But would the messenger see through the rouse? He knew that Yamaru might feel uncomfortable without the bow, but they had no choice but to have him leave it in Rei's room for the time being.

The Tiste Andii watched quietly as the messenger walked into the room five minutes after Rei had slipped into the Kurald Galain portal. The man did not seem to notice any sort of switch and merely offered a nod to Yamaru. The Tiste Andii assassin simply nodded back before he responded to Paladin pleasantries. It was something that he found strange about the messenger, but Yamaru held his tongue. It was not like he acted too different than a messenger should, but he was just supposed to deliver his message and then leave. Even the Tiste Andii assassin had not seen the man remove his eyes from Rei once they had met. And even now, he did not take the time to look at the wall art, modest as it was. He had to admit, when this was Rei's room, it was very much in taste for the Tiste Andii. Now it was just something that he found disgusting in his view. Victory for the Midnight Knight, a dragon form of Silvermane. He had to admit that this room made him wretch.

The assassin turned his head to the messenger the moment that he heard something strange. His eyes narrowed under the cloak as his emotion shifted to curiosity, the color of his irises changed to golden yellow. "Hold a moment, sir," There was a pause as the messenger's cheery mood seemed to somber, and Yamaru continued in a dry voice, "You are not a messenger at all. You just mentioned how you had just came back from delivering a message to the council. But you should have just had been in a meeting with Captain Eldera." Dark intent shifted in the 'messenger' as he shifted slightly, but Yamaru was quicker. The assassin sent throwing dagger straight at the man's wrist and knocked away some shirt daggers.

The twin scimitars flashed into Yamaru's hands as the Student took to his master's training on the road in swordsmanship. The blades flew in, but the assassin that had falsified as the messenger kicked the arms. Yamaru stumbled back before he used the fall to roll away as the assassin dug a third dagger into the mat. The tatami mat was then used as a circling mat as the two watched each other carefully. Though neither noticed as oe of the throwing daggers was picked up as Rei used the portal to slip through and then exited out above the would-be assassin. The Tiste Andii landed just before Yamaru almost saw an opening.

The man was helplessly surprised as a yelp was stifled as Rei placed palm around the man's mouth an focused his fingers of the sides of the man's jaw before he growled, "Make one movement that I don't like, and your life will be over, minion of the shadows." Rei turned hard eyes to Yamaru, who merely deferred to Rei. The Tiste Andii supposed that they had no choice. The real Paladin bound the assassin with ropes and then gagged him. Rei then slipped back into Kurald Galain as Yamaru pulled the assassin out of the room. Blue Rose looked shocked as Yamaru dragged the man to Eldera's officer, where the man seemed surprised at who it really turned out to be.

"An assassin, in my dojo? The gall!" The giant Blue Rose thundered in his rage before he stepped closer to the assassin and grabbed him by the throat and pulled him up, and then he noticed Rei's trademark when dealing with assassins. They had once dealt with them when Avalon was under attack long ago, but now he was utterly astonished that any would dare to enter this place. The Blue Rose turned to the assassin with intent to discover his employer, "I will have to take this most serious. Captain Elderlas will have to be contacted, Rei," He looked where Rei really was, and the drow nodded in response, "Elderlas will give us what we need from him. He tapped his cloven foot on the ground a moment before he tossed down the assassin. He bounced once and his ribs cracked. A sound from the gag had the Blue Rose almost smash a hoof on the head of the assassin. Eldera's famous temper was still just as violent as ever to those that enlisted his wrath.

The eyes of the Blue Rose turned to Yamaru as he studied the posture that he held and snapped, "You are not Rei. Your stance is not that of a swordsman. Its more like something else..." He turned to a place that he sensed a disturbance at and pointed at it. A portal to Kurald Galain opened and revealed Rei, who stepped out in the cloths of a Tiste Andii archer. For a moment, there was silence before Eldera started to laugh as he roared in a merry voice, "Now that is hilarious, my friend! Utterly so," Eldera lowered his voice as he leaned towards Rei with a large grin on his face, "Truly, this does not fit you, While I don't doubt your magic use, I do not even recall you as being a dedicated user of the finer aiming arts."

Rei merely shrugged as he turned to Yamaru and the assassin as he said, "We will have to silence this man. His soul is not pure, as an assassin, and not pure as a man." Still holding one of the throwing knives, he tossed it at Yamaru, who grabbed the tip between three fingers, "I will hold him, and you may kill him, if the Captain will allow it." Although Yamaru was not a Paladin, he was still the one that Rei had placed in danger. He glanced at the Captain, who looked between the two in fascination and with a chuckle still on his lips.

Yamaru looked between the three and then down at the dagger. He had a dry mouth and licked his lips and then looked at the annoyance in the assassin's eyes. He had been caught and he should just be killed now. He was not possessed by anything but his own wants and the rope of employment. He hated all Tiste Andii, and he was the type to be one to kill and escape. He had killed many Blue Rose that had been in missions on other planets, but none that had used their portals like this. He had never really seen it used as this. And Yamaru saw all this in the assassin's eyes. He nodded as he twisted the dagger into a reverse grip, "While normally I would not want to kill this kind..."

The assassin seemed to gain a bit of hope, until Rei gripped him by the mouth again and pulled him up before he turned him around and exposed the neck. While Rei was not always hyper aggressive person, they had to be very careful. Yamaru stepped forward and his arm was flung to slash at the throat before his arm was grabbed. The Blue Rose captain narrowed his eyes at Yamaru and growled, "While Rei is right, and we should have him killed now, I will do it. It was my responsability to see that no assassins enter the dojo." The long sword that he wore was already removed. The sword stabbed into the assassin's gut and stopped before it pierced all the way through the body.

Rei and Yamaru stared at the blade that was in the assassin as the assassin's eyes widened before Rei shook his head. He allowed the body to crumple to the floor as he released the man and the blade slipped from the man. He turned his head to his master and snapped, "It seems that we must be fully aware and careful as to how we proceed. He was not Captain Elderlas', was he?" The Blue Rose now knelt in front of the corpse and had removed the hood of the assassin. There was a 'no' shake of the head from the man as Rei was happy about that. He turned his head to the other assassin in the room as he watched Yamaru place the throwing daggers into his own cloths, "And Yamaru, I think it's time that we changed back into normal. I have an older version of my gear like that in my Kurald Galain room."

Yamaru nodded as the two men turned from Eldera for but a moment. Rei was able to slip into the Warren, but the Paladin stopped Yamaru with a narrowed gaze as he stood in front of the assassin, "Although I don't know where you got the idea that Rei would be your bait for the Lord of Moon's Spawn, I won't let that pass." The large Paladin was no sloucher, the Tiste Andii assassin knew. Rei held the man in high respect not only for what he represented, but for the man's swordplay and his ability to fight in unexpected ways. His eyes narrowed as the crimson eyes turned darker, into a more blood red iris. There was no response as Yamaru stepped back.

Rei had already went to where his room was, located in a building that had started to decay with over a century's worth of decay. He sensed that Rei was repairing the room with his own magic, a task that would take hours. The assassin shook his head before he moved down a twisted road. The dark cobble seemed to yawn out and towards another district as Yamaru groaned in annoyance. He had merely agreed to a small task to get what he wanted. And though he was sure that Rake was not ignorant, he had thought most others would not guess at what he wanted. The problem was Shyvana these days.

And most of the problem came from the death of Shaoran. She had once been engaged to Rei, and when he went missing, she was devistated. Even if Rake had lied to her and told his daughter that Rei was not back; even if Rake told her that Rei was a drow, a forced wanderer; Shyvana would come and find Rei. And that girl would be trouble, to both the Tiste Andii that came after her, and her father. If he knew that she was still in love with Rei- a fact Yamaru had known- then Rake might have actually killed Rei.

The drow turned his back to the assassin on purpose. The Tiste Andii assassin had time to try and kill him, but it seemed that his task was not to kill Rei. The lone warrior turned to look towards the student, searching gaze narrowed. He absorbed much of the information that was given to him. Rei was only glade that he had given back the simitar weapons that he had come to rely on. It seemed tat the Witch of Time and Space had not saw it fit to remove the items from him during his imprisonment. There was much to think about with that Witch. For example, he had recently found out about the Averruncus that she had created; it seemed that they were an experiment fueled by the deity to see if they could make, rather than promote by death, other deities or gods. But they were not successful.

For one thing, he thought of with satisfaction, the Witch was no longer in control of these Averruncus. Rei could hunt them down and crush them, one by one, until he was done. Only three of them remained. It seemed that Kotarou had touched deity level. While the Averruncus had impressive control over their elements, that was all that they had. They had no worshipors and were powered simply by an internal battery made of ki. Granted, they could go on for hundreds of years, maybe even a thousand, but they would run out of energy and simply wither. Kotarou had gained a following on another planet and then killed their former deity of fire. Rei's short talk with his brother really played out in hs mind once a day. It was now even rarer for them to speak, as Kotarou took his deity status seriously.

But there was one thing that Rei would have to watch very carefully for while he stayed at the dojo, and that was simply the people and the Tiste Andii Blue Rose that he interacted with. Just one slip of the tongue to the wrong one. Just one messed up word or pronunciation, and he would not be able to stay here; he might even place Captain Eldera in a spot that he would rather his teacher not have to face.
