Rei sat up from the table that the Witch had him stay on. It had been barely thirteen hours since he had been a human, with a Tiste Andii soul, then his body's blood had started to reject the human blood by killing it off with poison. The Witch, who had encountered this before, was forced to do another transfusion and drained what remained of the Andii blood. She had thought that she could leave some in, but she was mistaken. A low sigh flowed from her lips as she held a long pipe in her hand and looked at the new human, her eyes narrowed, "So, Rei, the sparring realm won't suffice to test out this human body. Or so I take it." The pipe was placed back into her mouth as the slender woman turned slightly as thick, magic-infused smoke flowed from the pipe.

The human grunted in response before he replied in a dry voice, "You know me too well, Witch. But I ask for one thing: water, please." There was a pause as Yuuko looked at the human before she turned and walked towards a sink and grabbed a glass from above. After he drank deep the mild temperature water, Rei looked over at her and spoke with a darker tone, "Though you are immortal, I would ask you one question. Why did you pick me? After all these years, and after you held me captive. Why help me to destroy Anomander Rake?"

Yuuko paused before she turned to the human Paladin and blew smoke his direction, "You were...special. A Spiridon, as was what Rake gave you. A god to contain from ages past, after many years of war. You are the last of that generation, Rei. Rake's personal guard." The realization, she saw, sunk into his eyes. Weighted heavy by this news, she understood what it was like to be the last. Though Clow Reed was called the Warlock of Time and Space, and she the Witch of Time and Space, they held no race together. "Now then, Rei, I suggest you test out your powers. I believe less than thirty percent of your total power output should do for the start. I don't want another relapse."

Rei nodded his head as his power reading dropped like a load stone before he grunted and pushed himself upwards. "Then, Yuuko, I will meet with you later." He lifted from the ground before he flew; and flew towards an area where he felt powers above those of humans. His eyes narrowed as he wondered just what they were up to. His first glimpses of what he looked like had been in the sparring realm, against the Changeling Tyrant King Cold. Or, at least, that's what he called the man. He had been a Paladin, after all. Perhaps he would reapply and destroy the Order from the inside out. However, that was for another time.

He slammed onto a street in a city. His right eyebrow perked for a moment before people stared at him and then after a breif moment, they ran. He had wanted that, after all, as he did not want to get too many humans harmed in this test. Once they humans had started to flee, he was sure that those powers would, and indeed, most likely had, picked up his power signal. All that was able to be seen by his enemies was his special Paladin Armor, another, more formal set that Quon had never worn. They were lined, as was with the long coat, with diamond-like metal plates, while the outside was made to look like normal clothing.

Rei then removed two objects; one from within the folds of his armor, and the other his sword, held in his left hand. The object in his right hand was a strange little box that would emit a a very strange sound, almost like one of the old monster movies, as he activated the barrier; he sensed a third power, but the barrier had already been set. The being would be separated by Avalanian technology in seconds. He had set it for two kilometers, entrapping the three combatants. Though he merely sensed them, he knew where to strike. His body moved at hyper sonic speeds as he send twin punches that could easily kill a much lesser being. Each powerful as the tsunami that raided this planet. Next he dished out even more punishment as he brought his hands together and threw them at the side Konatsu's head once, and then again as he sought to disorient the alien.

"So, it looks like Tapion isn't the last of his kind as I had first thought," Rei barely dwelt on this fact before his body rushed to where the other power was, likely not that far from his first target. This one was different, a female for starters. He roared out a battle cry before he laid swift fist into the young woman, punches flying this way and that until he withdrew his arms back and spoke calmly to the woman, "Sorry I've got to be so harsh, but I've need to test these powers."

Not me. We.
[Base: 71620, Zenkai, Champ Lv I, Combat Rune]

It was highly unusual for Pan to be in the city. She wasn't even dressed in her battle gear, instead enjoying one of very, very few days off. She'd wandered into a bazaar and was checking out a couple of the local delicacies when her Scouter erupted with information about a recent power level crashing into the city. She stopped, dropped what she was holding and turned towards it, though she hadn't headed there just yet. People were starting to leave, and her attention was definitely grabbed by the new turn of events, but now that she'd adjusted her Scouter, she realized that there was another power level very near the first one. Minosha.

As the giant dome came around the fighters, she hurried towards the two power levels, though she didn't use any of the ways she had to multiply her speed just yet. As she reached the pair of them, the power levels had intertwined and her soon-to-be opponent had already attacked her ally. She arrived just in time to see the not-so-young Konatsu fend off their opponent's attacks. As she arrived in the range of melee combat she grabbed Minosha by the back of whatever the hell he was wearing and yanked him backwards. She reverse-mirrored her opponent's offensive gesture as she took her ally's place, and brought her hands together and slammed them against him, the crushing power of their attacks nullifying each other. Despite the incredible burn of attempting to match the strength of the attack, she did it again to nullify the second skull-aimed strike. The human's attention was on her now, and she was the victim of almost a half-dozen physical blows that forced Pan backwards, with the Saiyan warrior attempting to avert the warrior's attacks as best she could. This one was strong, but he'd made one very severe mistake. As he explained his reasoning, she was almost certain that it was a good one.

She didn't care. She stared at him as she gripped the collar of her shirt, tearing it off to reveal her armor underneath. "I just cannot get a day off." As she bulked up slightly, her aura flared up around her, sparking with light blue electricity. Her hair began to stand on end and her aura flashed red. She now stood half in what almost appeared to be yoga pants and half in highly modified Saiyan armor. She stood perfectly still, towering over the much shorter warrior. She had her hands on her hips, fists balled up. "After today you're going to have learned one very important lesson: You don't touch him while I'm around." The calmness in her voice was laced with venom that, in itself, could've killed a lesser man than her current opponent. Pan had faced down giants over things as petty as money, there was no telling what she'd give up to protect someone that was likely her best friend.

Giving away no physical indication, within her balled up fists she was charging up a powerful onslaught of energy, but she hadn't moved yet. Instead she stayed perfectly still and said, "If you want to try out your power, you try it on both of us. And you try it starting right about--" Rather than finisher her sentence she jumped backwards an impressive several yards, all while throwing burning spheres of purple ki straight at her foe, and following any movement he may have been making by using her Scouter to track his movement.

She didn't care for the city, it was more or less emptied out, and she wouldn't have given a shit either way. As she landed she fired off the twelfth and final attack at her opponent, breathing heavily at the sudden expulsion of energy and preparing for whatever was next. She pulled out both of her weapons, the towering axe and the two-handed sword, balancing each in one hand with impressive strength, a special form of fighting that she was mastering quickly. She'd tear this guy down, whoever he was, for messing with Minosha.

One look over his shoulder. Maybe two. Or three.

Minosha jaunted casually along the sidewalk, hands jammed in his pockets, not really worried about looking conspicuous. He was having trouble separating his current train of thought from recent events. Even though he knew he had already walked out of viewing distance, the Konatsu still couldn’t help but keep checking and wondering if the previous night had actually happened, like he needed some physical proof to validate the sea of feelings still surging through his head. Nothing else around him caught his attention, so wrapped up was he inside the swell of fresh memories.

Only when the Earthen citizens began to stampede in a horde of panic did the Konatsu snap out of his private reverie as a few of them roughly shouldered past him. His brows slashed together darkly, and his eyes darted in every direction, searching for the source of danger. Then his gaze rolled skyward as a strange beam shot up and dispersed into a blanket of energy, covering the sky like a creeping, ominous wave and curving downwards to create a bubble. Something was happening. Something bad. Was this because of him? Was this... Paladin technology?

Without even thinking, Minosha rushed to outrun the wave, scrambling towards the closing window of freedom, but by the time he reached the end, the energy bubble had already securely seeped into the ground, creating an impenetrable wall.

Trapped.

His face darkened. No choice now but to face whoever did this. The Konatsu turned and headed inwards, towards the center of the dome. From out of nowhere, someone whose face he had never before seen flashed in front of him. Minosha barely had time to react, but his first instinct brought up a shield of flame about his body. Two punches, smooth and fluid, lashed out to strike him. His forearms moved to create a blockade between the fists and his face. The impact of the knuckles painfully jarred him to the bone. Whoever this was, they were an experienced fighter, and a powerful one at that.

Just as he prepared to fend off another set of attacks, he felt a set of fingers curl around the collar of his jacket at the base of his neck and forcibly yank him backwards. Immediately, his mind processed this as an attack from behind from a second enemy, but as he stumbled in reverse and attempted to counterattack whatever plot this new person had in store for him, he saw a jagged mop of black hair and familiar armor jump out in front to take an attack meant to crush his skull.

“Pan!” he blurted in shock.

What was she doing here? How had she gotten there so quickly? As he righted himself, he reasoned that the saiyan must have already been inside the dome. Minosha could only watch with concern as she blocked for him and then further endured an onslaught of swift strikes.

Not for me... he wanted to say.

At first, when Pan expressed annoyance at the predicament they now found themselves in, Minosha felt a pang of guilt, like she had felt obligated to be there. And then, he was taken aback by what she spoke next. Not so much the words themselves, but the pure, dangerous certainty behind them. But he couldn’t just sit and focus on her harsh lecture (that he was very glad not to be on the receiving end of). As he was no longer the center of attention, he had to utilize the precious time allotted as best he could.

The Konatsu leaned forward and simultaneously pulled back both flaps of his jacket and shrugged it off, discarding it to the side. Since he didn’t have time for the rest, he would simply have to contend with destroyed clothing as he shifted into beast form. As his height and muscle mass exploded, his shirt shredded into tiny, frayed pieces of fabric, and his leather boots split in two. The lion had emerged. From the waist of his still-intact trousers, he pulled a capsule to materialize his axe. The brutish weapon, a fairly oversized blade in his normal state, was now of comfortable size in his transformation. Now they would understand why he called it Silver Fang.

Minosha stood by as Pan pummeled their mysterious foe with an attack all too familiar. It was nice that it wasn’t aimed at him for a change. He stared at her as she finished, readying her own weapons for whatever came next. The bestial brawler was torn between his need to prove that he could fight his own battles and stand on his own two feet without the need for constant protection, and the thrill of fighting a battle alongside his friend. In the end, the choice was clear enough. Futility was the best he could hope for in the endeavor of instructing a saiyan to leave the battlefield. One might as well have asked them not to breathe.

And so, he merely stepped forward until he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the warrior – or, more rather, head to shoulder, as he was safely over a foot taller than she in his lion state. A faint feline smile crossed his maw.

“Party crasher,” he scoffed.

In the midst of the smoke, he used his keen feline senses to sniff out the opponent. He let out a feral roar and charged forth, swinging his axe at the man’s torso to see if he couldn’t cleave that pretty little armor of his in twain.

Rei was more intrigued than annoyed at seeing that this Pan character was able to block what she could. He could already sense that she was the stronger of the two; he suspected that she was suppressed like he was, though there was no way for him to know how suppressed. A small smirk flowed onto his lips as his fists were slammed into, and did less damage. But, of course, this Saiyan had to have a backup plan. Unlike the opponent Sai, however, this one was in a lesser state. Her power shot up and roared at a decent peak of power; one he would soon respect with more power soon to be unleashed.

It seemed that he was not the only one to observe this. His first target had turned into something akin to the Human Torch, only more alien and pointy-eared. The very thought that he would use that had not crossed his mind, and his fists were now hotter inside the metallic gloves. He tossed off the metal as he grunted, “It seems that this Konatsu knows more tricks than Tapion has showed me.” Rare as the Konatsu were, they were not unknown to the Andii- though all the Andii truly knew about them were the structural features, as they were still from another galaxy.

However, he knew that there was no time to rest. As soon as she was able to, it seemed to him, an attack was thrown at him after she stopped in mid-sentence. However, it was more predictable than she might have thought- for honestly, there were very few reasons to leap back like that. He himself, then, jumped back as she did before an attack was thrown his way; and what an attack it was. His feet slammed into the ground and sent him straight into the air as he weaved his way through the air as he used a building to twist and turn. The building its self was smashed into pieces and broken down. “Well, well,” he spoke in a calm nature.

However, with all the distraction, he had not forgotten his dear first attacked. He had, in fact, also changed form and now looked like a lion. He charged the new human, who drew his weapon up, finally, as he caught part of the building that was not destroyed to support his weight. The blade was made of the finest of hardened Avalon Steel, and was enhanced on Pefu by Quon. The weapon, a plain-looking long sword, slammed easily against the battle axe as he used his oxen-like strength to beat the weapon away from him. And this is where things got complicated. “My dear boy,” Rei spoke loud enough so that Pan could hear him, “I think it’s time that I got a bit more serious.”

His reserves dipped closer to lower his suppressed power as his aura, a white fire, roared for a few seconds. His base power now lay beyond both of their own. He then waved at the brutish lion of a Konatsu and pushed from the brick, and shattered it to create a smoke screen in the whole of the area. He suspended his breathing for five seconds before his mouth opened and belched out a fireball with a flaming stream behind it, aimed at the one that was more powerful among his foes, the False Super Saiya Jin, Pan. But, his powers of fire were not yet complete.

His fingers rose as the smoke screen started to die away as he grunted, “I hope you enjoy fireworks.” Flame seemed to appear out of nowhere after he snapped, as the flames erupted. His target was Pan’s right arm, he wanted to burn it and render it useless to her. One arm down, he could make the lion a priority. These flames were, however, more ki than actual fire, though one day he hoped to refine the technique more.

Those thoughts, however, were needed for later. Since the Lion had decided that he would use a weapon, then he obviously had no problems getting attack with them either. Rei drew the weapon back as he seemed to slip into the day and appeared to Minosha’s front side as he slashed masterfully in a cross, aiming the blade at the Konatsu’s chest, mostly. He applied just enough force to knock out the Konatsu, should he be unable to react to the sudden attack from the Ex-Paladin.

Great Kais this guy's fast. However illogical it was that this warrior evade all twelve of Pan's randomized attacks, he seemed to act with almost precognizant speed. The Saiyan watched as Minosha had yet again displayed his ability to control his bestial form. She had to admit, he wasn't a child anymore. Of course physically this had been true for a little bit, but he would soon surpass her in might as well, leaving very little for the Saiyan to teach her pseudo-adopted sibling. She shook the thoughts from her mind, bringing herself to the here and now as Minosha spoke, giving him a smirk, "You know me, I can't miss an opportunity to dance."

She took an opportunity to sync up their Scouters for better communication as the bestial warrior crossed blades with their opponent, his brutish attack unsuccessful, though admirable in its sudden strength. With the two communication devices successfully linked, and thankfully tampered with to prevent hacking, she was tempted to tap her Scouter and get a new reading on him, but their opponent's power level rising almost instantaneously caused the device to spring to life on it's own. Shit. Something tells me this shrimp's a lot stronger than we give him credit for.

She received a gout of fire from his gaping maw and barely had the chance to throw up a force field against the fiery technique. She could withstand outrageous temperatures as a result of her training in the Fire Temple, but that didn't mean she liked to. As her smaller opponent stuck his hand out and snapped his fingers, she was, at first, quite insulted, thinking that he was evoking some kind of sexist gesture. However this idea was immediately extinguished by an explosion of ki that took a great chunk out of the protective shield she'd created for herself, just barely allowing the Saiyaness to retain the use of her right arm. She flicked the limb out, brandishing the Zweihander to ensure that she could still hold it up. Once it passed the test, she dropped the weapon with such force that it pierced the cobbled stone below them. As her hand was suddenly freed, she flicked it out in a mirrored snap just like his, and said, "You aren't special."

And snapped her fingers.

Of course, she didn't conjure up an explosion like he did. No. She created, from nothing, a burst of golden flame that soared towards her opponent just after Minosha dealt with the attack that had been aimed at him. Now, she had very little time to think of something else. They would have to use tactics against this warrior, something would need to be done that they hadn't done in a long time. And all in an instant a plan formed in her head. She considered her training days at the facility that was technically several decades in the future. They had ways of getting the lead out, as they say, when it was desperately needed. All Pan would have to do was make use of them. With her hand still free, she reached for a miniscule button at the nape of her neck and tapped it. A surge of adrenaline shot through her thanks to the prick of a needle concealed within her armor. She'd get a bit of a boost from it for a time, then she'd be shit out of luck. Within that time, they'd have to make their move. Speaking softly into her Scouter, which had synced up with Minosha's when the two stood side by side, she said, "Wait for my signal, then give him Hell."

She then reached down and grabbed her weapon again, waiting for their opponent to unleash his next onslaught.

It was almost comical how much the gargantuan animal loomed over his tiny opponent; a juggernaut against an insect. A flash of steel against the afternoon sun caught Minosha’s eye as he charged in, axe poised to crack open the little man’s armor like a walnut shell. The edge of his weapon met not the polished surface of the ornate breastplate, but instead an impressively staunch longsword that had appeared to block the brutish weapon’s descent. Not only was Minosha’s attack prematurely halted, but the human’s blade didn’t cave with the force of the impact. Instead, it pushed outward with surging strength, and the Konatsu had trouble merely hanging onto the hilt of his axe as his arm was flung forcibly to the side, let alone attempting to keep it in close quarters where it could do damage. Comical indeed, no longer that the lion dwarfed the man, but that the mouse had bested the beast.

Minosha snarled ferociously as his enemy flared with light, and anticipated a crushing retaliation after such a pompous quip. The human’s energy output jumped quite a bit, sending a thrum of power jolting through the Konatsu. That’s when his opponent flashed him a little wave, a gesture of mockery, and zipped out of sight before Minosha could attempt to forcibly hold his attention.

“No!” he growled as he helplessly watched the little man dash away.

Even amidst the smoke from the disintegrated brick, there was only one place he could have gone, and that was towards Pan. Minosha turned, following the energy reading as it tracked the human’s movements. His thickly muscled arm shot out, and he prepared to launch something to redirect their enemy’s focus back to him. He didn’t mind taking a beating, but he couldn’t stand the thought of it happening to his saiyan friend.

Such a diversion no longer became necessary as the man expelled a plume of flames from his throat, and Minosha couldn’t help but grin. Only a fool played with fire around Pan, and hard-earned experience from enduring the woman’s abilities told him what was coming next. Her ferocity and battle prowess were admirable, and in his thousand year lifespan he still had yet to match it. He could only hope that one day, he would earn her respect on the battlefield, for that would be a monumental measure of his skills indeed, and it would warrant him the same respect off the battlefield, not just as a fighter, but as an adult. The Konatsu scoffed a little to himself. Today was not that day. The saiyan enjoyed the dance very much indeed, so he would let her lead, and simply hope that he didn’t step on her toes.

Now was simply not the time to dwell upon such things.

Especially since the human had finished with Pan and was now training his sights on the bestial brawler once more. As the smoke cleared, one second he was snapping his fingers at the saiyan, and the next, he was right in Minosha’s face. The Konatsu brought up his axe, using two great paws this time instead of one. Air whistled sharply as the longsword cleaved through it in a horizontal slash. Minosha parried appropriately, and tilted his weapon to the side to halt the swift chop that followed. Sparks flew, and the fierce clanging of metal rang out through the improvised battleground. Such sharp vibrations from the blows sent tremors through his arms. At the very least, the flaming shield around his animal body surged to life throughout the attack, threatening to consume the human who dared venture into such close proximity.

And now it was the moment for Minosha to take his leave. He flashed his fangs at the human in a bestial grin, and returned the wave that had been so callously given a mere minute prior. With precise timing, the lion hit the burners and blasted away, leaving the human to suffer the fate of the fireball Pan had conjured in recompense for the earlier elemental assault. Perhaps all those grueling training sessions with the saiyan paid off; it felt like he was in sync with his partner, and had moved to the music of their battle accordingly without the need for communication, but rather simply on the feel of the flow.

As he cleared the area, safely distancing himself from the little man, Minosha received a communication from Pan as her voice filtered quietly into his ear.

“You got it,” he agreed readily in his gruff animal voice.

It was his turn again, and Minosha roared, adrenaline coursing through his veins. Once their enemy had dealt with the fireball, he charged right back in, body ablaze, Silver Fang swinging through the air and hungering for the taste of flesh. The Konatsu aimed two heavy slashes at the little man’s legs, rationalizing that the best way to stop a speedy little bastard like him was to proverbially cut him off at the knees. In this case, however, Minosha would settle for a deep gouge on the quadriceps or hamstrings, just enough to give his opponent a little wince whenever he tried to move.

So, it appeared that the female was well enough equipped with his fire techniques, though none of them had been, in retaliative terms, all that powerful. The human bound around with more energy than he had ever had, even as a youthful Tiste Andii; it came from one source. He had a lack of responsibilities, there was no one that he answered to, and no one that would command him. In light of such information, he was still fighting a hard battle. Yet, this only encouraged him. While he was just testing his abilities, he was very sure that these two did not see it like that. Why else would the lion one pull out an ax? Still, he would have the barrier taken down once he was satisfied with the new body and powers.

And at the moment, he was now reeling from the defense with the ax; it was an annoying weapon to battle against with the sword, more so because of it's weight against the steel of Avalon. A flaming hot ball of fire was thrown at him by the female, so he decided that he would show her his resolve! He jumped away from Minosha, in order to save the lion from any damage and threw his back against the ball. He grunted in pain before he gripped the outer coat and threw it to the ground. There, it slammed on the ground and created a crater twice as large as the lion was tall, and just as deep as it was large.

However, he was not given much time to think of his next move. The lion rushed in, and it was clear that he was aiming for something on Rei's body with that bruitsh weapon. The Soultaken human snarled as he rushed back at the lion, his legs flipped out of the way as one swing came and he thrust a palm to Minosha's throat, and then he struck once more as he punched the golden-furred opponent in the nose.

"You want to try and kill me now, eh?" Rei started to get more annoyed with these two as the lion was going for blows that would kill someone. Well, it was time to show these whelps a technique he had gotten from Master Adel. He backflipped several times as he took a stance away from them before he brought a hand up and it seemed that a portal formed around his hand, dark as the recesses of madness. And from there, several portals formed around Pan. However, because of his human body, the portals gave her some room to dodge around. Dark purple arrows flared and sped towards from around Pan like a dome. Hundreds of arrows flashed out from the Kurald Galain portals; she would have to be on her toes to avoid them.

He was not done with these brats, either. The human rushed towards them and pulled his arms up before he decended on the Lion and the Witch, each would receive two powerful attacks. He chose to throw one uppercut with the power to break the Lion's jaw and then a quick to his knee, intent on a snap sound. Even with the ability to fly, without the ability to position his leg, defense would be even more difficult. He winced at the light pain on his back from Pan's Fireball as he arrived at her, but that was all he showed. Twin hooks attacked the Saiyan, each powerful as an oxen as he aimed the first at her face and the other hook at her armor, intent to smash the armor into tiny little pieces.

Not me. We.
As the portals formed around the Saiyan warrior she thought quickly. There was one way that she could rid herself of whatever was going to come out of them. She dropped down and flicked her wrist, the see-through shield brimming to life with the whirr of an electronic. Once on the ground she dropped both of her weapons in front of her and used her now free hand to fiddle with whatever it was on her wrist that was projecting the shield. With an ominously loud hum, the shield overloaded, extending around her entire form like an invisible shell, only able to be seen due to random and temporary jolts of electric energy that sizzled over the shield.

Pan crouched beneath it as the arrows began to fly, each of them getting stuck in the shield and resulting in a temporary safe Saiyan warrior. As the flurry of arrows ceased raining she stood up and decreased the size of her shield, the loud hum dulling to its normal soft whir. As she did, the arrows bunched together to the now circular size attached to her wrist. And, of course, that's when they exploded, sending the Saiyan warrior flying backwards. She managed to recover just in time to see the human warrior charging at her.

She managed to reach for her belt as he reached her. It would take her a second to get this ready, and he'd be distracted pummeling her in the mean time. The mysterious human started his attack by throwing a wild hook that smashed into her jaw and another that cracked her armor, right where the Saiyan's ribs would be. She stumbled backwards several steps, but even as she did she lifted her severely damaged arm (the one that had taken the brunt of her attack) and tossed a small silver object straight at the warrior. The device was somehow sticky, attaching to the human's armor and exploding a small temporal field that would temporarily severely delay the human's reactions.

Blood dripping from her mouth, a bruise already forming on her cheek, Pan whispered into her Scouter, "Now." And lifted both of her arms, firing a plethora of ki bursts straight at her opponent from a near point-blank range. As each burning blast came out of her hand she was forced back mere inches by the raw power of her own technique. Rage overcame her as she realized that this was probably her last chance to get at this human before she and her partner were completely out of options.

Once she fired off the twelfth burning blast she, to her own surprise, continued firing. The purple-ish attacks were still exploding from her hands, though they were no longer lit aflame. Instead they were much bigger, much more difficult to evade, and made even more so being at point blank range. The attacks seemed random, haphazard, but they were as carefully calculated as they could have been to attempt to hone in on the warrior's movements. She fired off another twelve of these massive attacks then stumbled backwards, waiting to see exactly what would happen next. She hadn't seen what Minosha had done in conjunction, too focused on her own techniques, but she knew that whatever it was, it was a hell of a thing.

"Well?" She said to the opposing fighter, "How's that for a test?"

The axe came down, a perfect swing. Unfortunately, the little man also had a perfect dodge. When it came to a sheer contest of speed, Minosha surely couldn’t keep pace. One second the legs were there, ripe for the cutting, and the next, they were gone. The lion didn’t see the flattened palm coming towards him until it had already crushed against his throat, damaging his windpipe. He couldn’t help it; he flinched in pain and let out a strangled cough as the air tried to force its way up the injured trachea. This didn’t in any way assist him for the punch that landed squarely on his squishy black nose. Something crunched, a bone breaking perhaps, but a thick spurt of red blood soon followed, staining his golden fur with sticky crimson.

Were he capable of speaking, or even a full breath, Minosha might have defended himself against the human’s accusations. He hadn’t been trying to kill him; not even close. And who was he to get upset when he attacked so suddenly without provocation? Surely he didn’t expect them to just lie down and allow him to steamroll over the pair for the sake of testing his “new powers”? The stranger had offered a hasty apology, but it held little weight in the sudden offense he had taken to the Konatsu’s use of an axe. When you selected strangers at random for a trial run of skill, you had no room to complain about the kind of contestants that were lined up to play. Perhaps the human was one of those self-righteous, hypocritical types, and the idea furthered Minosha’s already growing dislike of him. At that point it didn’t much matter. Anybody who hit Pan in a malicious manner would never win any good graces with him.

The human temporarily took leave of his target, and Minosha seized the reprieve to try and noisily draw air, slightly bent over. The fact that he could now barely breathe through his bloodied nose didn’t much help matters. His respite didn’t last long; once their enemy finished dishing out a specialty to the saiyan, he returned for the Konatsu. Minosha’s eyes widened as a fist cruised into view and clipped him neatly on the chin. It sent him up and back, whilst an offending foot drove into his knee. Had he still been on the ground, it might have broken his leg, but with a little give in the open air, the limb was spared from such a fate, though it wouldn’t be nearly as efficient or useful as before.

Minosha collapsed some yards away. His jaw hung at a crooked angle; not the first time it had been broken, and a robot’s punches hurt a lot worse. Quickly, he squeezed his eyes shut against the additional pain about to be suffered, took his gargantuan hand, gripped his jaw, and jammed it back into place with a sickening pop.

Then it came. The signal. He was needed.

He attempted to respond, but found the act of speaking far too difficult at present for him to do it promptly enough. Besides, the best way to confirm was simply to attack. Minosha had thus far spent very little of his energy, and he was about to overload his body and dump a payload of it all at once. Once he fulfilled his part, he would be all but useless, but he trusted Pan’s plan. It was their best shot. He rolled to his feet and thrust his axe into the cement, where it stuck deep into the ground with the handle facing up.

A flash of purple fireworks caught his eye. The hot zone had been activated. Minosha used her attack like a beacon, and opened the floodgates within his bestial body. In a flash, he disappeared before reappearing to one side of their opponent. With no words to chant, the Konatsu simply drew back his hands, forming them in the shape of an open clam shell. The ki sprang willingly to his palms, almost anxiously even. Minosha’s fluorescent blue eyes focused on the human.

Ka...me...ha...me...HAAAAA!

His arms shot forth, a blue beam bursting from his hands and soaring towards his foe with searing power.

But that wasn’t all.

Minosha cut off the feed and vanished again, this time popping up high in the sky behind the man, well out of the danger of Pan’s renzoku blast radius, but still angled perfectly to get a shot in at their enemy’s back as he was peppered with ki from the front. Minosha formed another Kamehameha, and launched it with as much ferocity as the first.

Still, he wasn’t finished.

Gone, vanished, and then taking position to the only remaining side that the man hadn’t yet been attacked from. A third and final Kamehameha viciously shot forth to complete the cycle. Combined, he and Pan had hit their foe from the four winds: north, south, east, and west. Even a man as fast and strong as he could not withstand them all.

At last, Minosha was finished. His body sagged, his chest heaved for air that was so sparingly filtered into his lungs. Using the last of his speed, he shifted from his current spot to stand next to Pan. How he wanted to simply drop to one knee, to rest from his ordeal, but he stood tall even as the fatigue and ache slowly started to creep in. He refused to show that kind of weakness in front of her. His breathing was somewhat ragged, and raspy-sounding from the effects of his damaged neck.

She threw out a taunt, and he stepped forward, moving out in front. If that monstrous man somehow survived, Minosha wanted to be the first thing standing between him and Pan. For some odd reason, he had fixated most of his attacks on the Konatsu anyway, so why even bother offering a choice of targets?

Rei was impressed that even under these conditions that these two had lasted as long, but now it seemed he had really pissed them off. Well, good, he wanted them at their best if he was to test out this new body. He landed and crouched as he took a defensive stance as something was lobbed at him. "Ah fu-" Rei nearly shouted as the grenade landed and blew up in his face, as he threw up his arms with an annoyed huff. Well, they were certainly getting to be a pain in his ass, but that would all change soon. He already felt that it was time to use nearly all his power. However, the human now had a handful to deal with as the Saiyan prepared an attack that she had use earlier. He had no choice but to go on the all-out defensive now.

The attack, however, was not about to defeat him that easily. Bolts flew at him at impressive speeds, but he was not down for the count that easily. His blade flashed up and he jumped at each blast and sliced at them all as his ability to fly showed itself. Rather then explode, however, they seemed to be gulped up by the sword. And Rei showed signs that he was not weakening, but strengthening. She had provided him a great source of ki. His smile returned; perhaps he had been a little hasty in judgment. Whoever these two were, for being of different planetary races, they worked well together.

He landed with little time to think. He only felt and closed his eyes for a few seconds as he did not feel out Pan nor Minosha. For a moment, the world stood still for Rei as he thrust all thoughts out of his mind but one: survival. His eyes opened as he saw and felt much powerful bolts of ki fly at him. However, he was ready for them this time. His pure speed had increased further with this composition of himself and he sped like a race track runner, along with his hands over his head (while he left room to watch) away from them until he had little choice but to take to the air. He flew up and away from the devastation on the ground as he grunted. So much destruction to the human city, how sad. He was not really connected to this city, he had just became a human.

But he was not even done defending himself yet. A low growl flowed from his lips as he sensed the power increase on Minosha before amethyst lightning flared around his being as he held a hand up and two fingers straight up, while the rest of his fingers curled into a semi-fist. Ki flowed into him again as he allowed it to easily replenish not only what he had lost in activating the technique, but also gain him some ki. A Kamehameha? A chuckle came from the human as he knew he could just use his more powerful beam and utterly kill the Konatsu, but he decided against it. However, his male opponent did not let up. Another Kamehameha was sent his way.

This time, Rei faced the technique head-on and pulled both fists back before he smirked and flashed a chop using his fist at the beam. He sent the beam skywards as he snarled, "You two like to destroy cities as well, eh?" The area was utterly devastated by the large blasts that Pan had thrown around. Livelihoods ruined, homes destroyed, business burned to the ground. It was almost like the two were fighting a T-800 Terminator, but they were the ones destroying these things. "Well, then," growled the human, "I see you two do work well together."

The final use of a Kamehameha slammed into the human and flung him back into a building and then smashed through another one before he dislodged himself from the beam. It slammed into the watery barrier and ended there as Rei stood up. "Ah, it seems like that grenade of your's has taken effect, Saiyan. However, let me warn you. You've earned my full power. Congratulations." The white aura from before that had simily flared then, now shattered the building nearest him and the windows around him shattered. He clenched a hand and muttered to himself, "It seems even I've underestimated my own power."

"Now then," shouted the human, "Prepare yourselves. You will face my full power."

Minosha could barely believe it. The images still clung freshly to his mind. Some kind of strange purple electricity had taken out the first Kamehameha. As a matter of fact, it had somehow sucked up the beam like a hose. A fist had redirected the second one, almost like the human had been batting away a beach ball. At last, however, the third one finally hit its mark, and their enemy took a trip through a couple of buildings. Once done with the impromptu ride, the stranger flipped out of the attack’s path, and the beam crashed against the barrier and dispersed.

Now, as the beast stood in front of the saiyan, momentarily spent and simply observing for the moment, the human approached again, barely scathed and looking far more refreshed than he did before their combined assault. Minosha would have clenched his jaw as their foe’s power skyrocketed again, but he couldn’t without sending a jolt of pain through his face, so instead he merely tightened his fists. A nearby structure was destroyed from the flare alone, and the windows around him shattered, sending a hurricane of glass and wood streaming onto the streets. The Konatsu wanted to scoff. So much for being above destroying cities, yet another hypocritical accusation. Minosha just couldn’t understand the basis of this man’s accusations. Not only had he attacked them and then gotten upset when the duo defended themselves, but he had chosen their battlefield and then criticized them for causing damage. How else were they supposed to fight? With their hands tied behind their back for this man’s amusement? If the human was truly concerned for the Earthen citizens and their civilization, he would never have chosen such a site to test his powers in the first place.

It disgusted him, and he wondered if he had sounded just like that. The thought of that made him angry with himself, but that sort of self-criticism had no place here.

The lion looked back at Pan. She was probably just as tired as he was, maybe more, since her ki expenditure had been far greater. He noticed her arm had suffered damage from the human’s flame attacks, something Minosha had not thought possible, but perhaps even the Fire Temple training had its limits. He swiveled his head back to their enemy, who was still powering up and throwing around some uninteresting threat. What was the point of such words when action had surely shown their truth clearly enough? Their foe was just grandstanding now. But, the fact that he had to be pushed to such limits proved they were still a threat to him, or at the very least, not so easy to put down.

Minosha turned to Pan, motioning silently to her arm to give indication of his intent. He took one massive paw and let it hover over the injured limb. With a burst of concentration, a white wave of energy washed over the arm. Unfortunately, he could not undo all the harm inflicted to it, but at the very least, she would be able to use it more effectively. He snapped his hand closed and the wave shut off. It was all he could spare in such a short time, and the use of the technique grew more and more difficult as the purity of his heart slipped away little by little.

Then, without a word, he gave her a slight nod, hoping Pan would understand, and turned back around. This time, he would lead the charge. This time, he would draw the fire.

His leg was a liability at this point, so he would have to risk using a little more energy for flight. Minosha didn’t give a damn about his opponent’s reticence to use weapons. His sharp animal eyes spied the axe he had left behind momentarily to launch his triple Kamehameha maneuver. The Konatsu dug deep, finding himself filled with a strange sense of resolve that granted him a sudden surge of strength. An aura flared around him, and he aerially shot to his axe like a cannonball. He picked it up in mid-flight with a perfect catch, and swung around to launch himself at the human.

He gripped the hilt tightly with both hands, and pulled the axe over his shoulder as if it were a club. He spun the blade so that the flat end faced forward. Minosha locked onto his foe, or more specifically, his foe’s head. Eyes on the ball, and batter up. As he neared the human, he swung forward mightily, aiming to strike the flat of the blade against his temple. Even though a decapitation would have ended things just as quickly, so too would a knockout, and as much as Minosha despised this man, he would not abide any unnecessary bloodletting.

Not yet, anyway.

Pan's rage was hitting its high point. This warrior was evading everything, seemingly toying with the two warriors for sport. Minosha had managed to solidly get a hit in, but other than that… and what was worse, after her brilliant display of useless energy, she was exhausted. What's more, she couldn't feel her right arm anymore. Ready to charge in yet again, she was halted by her oversized accomplice suddenly at her side.

A massive paw was hovering over her arm and, like during their sparring matches, the healing glow covered his hand and leeched out onto her arm, the warmth spreading over her arm and giving her feeling in the limb again. This brief interlude was enough for her to keep her rage in check, calming her down and letting her keep control of her power. Exercising the opportunity to test her arm's range of motion, she nodded at the vast improvement. Her face was still bruised and bleeding, and her armor was cracked, but she could still fight, and that was all that mattered to her. She gave him a friendly smile and said, "Show off." before leaning forward to pick up her weapons again.

Minosha's head nod hit its mark, and Pan nodded in return, bracing herself for the warrior's initial attack. As Minosha performed his strike, she rushed forward as quickly as she could without overtaxing her physical form. It was a good thing that her axe was reinforced to withstand ki, because the grip was beginning to alight with energy. Just after Minosha had cleared the area, she tossed the blade into the air and, as the weapon met the sky, brought hand down and pointed her flat palm towards her opponent. Wordlessly, she released a massive sphere of purplish ki straight at their powerful foe, blurring her speed to leap into the air and grab her axe just before it reached its point of descent.

Once in the air, she allowed herself to drop with all the full force of gravity, redirecting herself only to make sure that her aim was straight on. As she hit the ground she was aiming for a complete and total bisection. Minosha may have wanted to keep the bloodletting to a minimum, but Pan was fine with forcing their mutual opponent to fight for his life. At the very least it would give the warrior the ability to fully demonstrate his power, as he so badly seemed to want to do.

Rei had expected them to be...er, well, more angry with him. He was sure that they would have tried their damn hardest to kill him. He must rethink the way that these people think, otherwise he would lose himself. The ex-Paladin narrowed his eyes as the large beast came for him, that was, after he healed his companion. It wasn't the Healing Blade ability, and that is what made it all the more interesting. He doubted that the lion would ever see Rei as much else than some weirdo who attacked him, but maybe they could work on a relationship later. As friends. In the distant future. Well, maybe not too distant. Whatever the case, the ax was swung and the human had no choice but to block. This time he acted more like a walking tank as he used the Paladin Gaunlet on his left hand to halt the in-coming ax by a grip to the sides around the blade.

This was not, however, the only attack thrown at him. The female seemed to retain her spunk as the near wordless duo attacked with even more team work. He barely had time to breath- so he decided to scream. A roar flowed from his throat and erupted to shatter the ball that she had thrown at him, though some of the attack still knocked him away from the lion. She was, indeed, quite the warrior. He guessed that this was part of what attracted the Konatsu to her. And that did not even given him to breath. She came at him with the ax that she had! What was this, a circus act using such brutish weapons?

Rei ducked away from the swing and attacked her left arm now with a shattering elbow, aimed at her chest to knock her away. However, he was finished with most of his test. The human reset himself and narrowed his eyes between them before he spoke, "While this test its self is done, I will offer you the chance to surrender. I understand if you do not want to. I've been slightly rough on you, and more rough to this planet." There really were not any 'take-backs' between warriors, so what he really hoped for was more of a calling-off. A truce, more than likely. If they left, then he would just be on his own way. Although he would rather think that there were no hurt anything...well, that was not possible.

His offer for them to flee, though he knew it would not be easy for the Saiyan to do, was given more...he wondered at the word. Weight? He stood where the device that had set up the barrier was. He leaned down towards it and said, "If we agree to this truce, I will let down the barrier. We go our separate ways. Though I seriously doubt you trust me, I'll avoid the both of you for some time." Did he trust his own merits? Not really. Rei was more of a man that wanted and would do what he must to get it. But he hoped that they would, at the very least, understand that he was done trying to beat them up. Now, if they wanted to get hurt, he could do that.

Metal against metal. Of course it had been too much to expect, even for a non-lethal blow, to actually hit its intended target. But, since that was all he had, Minosha withdrew his axe and jumped back to clear the path for Pan’s incoming attack just as the Big Bang hurtled forwards in another unspoken act of coordination. The lion had spearheaded the charge, and now it was the saiyan’s turn to bring in the heavy artillery. He observed from nearby as the ball of energy partially smashed into their foe and knocked him back somewhat, but the Konatsu’s fleeting hopes of success were dashed as the man once again dealt with each attack with swift and precise measures.

They were never going to win. This had been a losing battle from the start.

So when the man suddenly offered word of surrender, when surely the battle duo could have been slaughtered like cattle should his power level spike any higher, Minosha latched tightly to the words. The Konatsu’s pride was not so great that he would refuse a chance to live and fight another day, especially if it meant that the lives of his friends would also be spared. Even if he felt the heavy weight of loss and failure upon his shoulders, he would rather tuck his lion’s tail between his legs than see Pan be killed. Unfortunately, the saiyan wouldn’t see it that way. She’d rather die than surrender, and somehow, Minosha was going to have to make her understand.

When their opponent finished his string of promises to let down the barrier and leave them unharmed, Minosha moved quickly, knowing he didn’t have much time before Pan spouted off some smart remark and plunged ahead into a futile fight... and a grueling demise. As before, he stood between her and their foe, but this time, he was facing the saiyan. The lion moved to grab her by the shoulders, so he knew he would have her full, undivided attention. If she shrugged him off, he wouldn’t have been able to do much but to try and force her to focus on him, and not the human – who would likely just as easily switch back to wanting to beat them into the cement. Minosha turned his head over his shoulder to nod at the man, silently accepting the proposal of surrender. Then he turned back to Pan, to stare her fiercely in the eye. He jerked his head off into the distance, gesturing that perhaps they should leave, and hoped that his expression would be able to communicate the rest.

But such a gesture might not have been enough.

It pained him greatly, but the beast coughed as he attempted to speak.

“G-go,” he growled, his word mangled by his injured throat and still-broken jaw. He tried again, more fiercely this time. “Go.

Minosha shook his head, his eyes almost sad, but determined. He knew how difficult this would be for her, but if he could quell that temper of hers and convince her to accept as well, he would gratefully endure whatever consequences he might receive from her anger and reluctance.

Not me. We.
Pan's attack failed, clearly. As the warrior stepped back and aimed a strike, Pan hurried to defend herself, scrambling and almost lost in mid-air, she managed to parry the attack using the flat of her sword. As she landed hard in front of the human, she disappeared in a blur of speed and reappeared several meters away, both weapons in hand and ready for another round against this brute of a warrior. Of course, when he spoke up, she took it only as a challenge and gripped her weapons tighter and leaned forward to attempt another strike.

The Saiyan's inevitable rush was only halted by her furry companion stepping up to halt her onslaught. She looked up at him as he spoke hesitantly. She'd been so concerned with her own vendetta against this fighter that she'd completely ignored the damage that had been done to him, despite her insistence on defending him as much as she could. He was tough, but he'd need some time in a rejuv tank to correct his jaw and his vocal chords or he could have some permanent damage. Still, she muttered, "We can take him."

And to this, of course, the bestial warrior repeated his assertion. She sighed and stared at him. And he stared back. The two of them had known each other for several months, but she'd never really gotten the hint of how well the two of them knew each other until know. She understood what he was saying. She popped her weapons back into their capsules, only so that she could cross her arms over her chest. The lion-like warrior jerked his head towards the exit, and she jerked hers towards the warrior.

After another couple of moments of facial expressions, she stepped aside, becoming once again visible once she was out of the massive warrior's shadow. "Fine." She said to the warrior, "Open the thing so that we can get out. I hope you won't mind if we insist that you get the hell out of here first. Can't have you firing on our backs."

The eyes of the human darkened when the Saiyan told him to leave first. Rei was not such a coward as to attack people he let flee. The human tapped on the machine to release the field with a bit of his blood before he snapped, "You will leave first. I am not so petty as to attack you after I tell you we are at a truce." The folded his arms as the liquid barrier spilled away and was sucked up by the machine. They were decent people from what he had seen, but it seemed that the Saiyan's temperament could use an extra beating. However, he would have to swallow this to keep his words of the truce.

Leave now, before the human authorities arrive? Not likely, he could not be harmed by them. He would, in fact, leave once the two were out of his sight. But no sooner than such. If there was one thing that he had learned from this, it was not to let his own pride get the better of him. That Kamehameha might not have seemed to damage him too severely to them, but he was holding his arms where they were for a reason. His eyes hardened as he muttered to himself, "I've already made enemies. The Tiste Andii in me really doesn't like others. I'll have to start adjusting my attitude." His eyes remained the pair, not aggressive, but a passive look. Not indifference, but of intensity. As though he were trying to push them to leave with his eyes.

He also took in the surrounding damage. Certainly the authorities were not the first to respond to this in any way. The Paladins would likely arrive first, due to the fight's damage of the city. He would also have to rethink how he would explain this to the Witch. Gods, she was not going to like this. And he doubted Shyvana would be happy with him as well.
