"Strength...that seems to be all that you have focused on," growled the human, as his eyes locked with a Paladin guard. He was in front of a Dojo, and it was no wonder why. While the Dojo of Gnar was under construction to finish repairs from the mad Paladin and animal that had attacked it, this lower level dojo should not be closed off. He would need to get to Bloodeye, but it seemed that this man did not want to be met by anyone. Even his former student was someone he did not want to meet. With a snarl, Rei turned away and placed his hand on his chin. The Bluerose had been forced to assist the Avalon government since he had fled several months ago.

While he was certain he could prove that he was Tiste Andii, he had felt it since he entered this place. This planet had wards all around it, all set to trip once Kurald Galain was opened. He had almost used his portal to travel to the planet. The Bluerose, while being his alley, had no way to prove their loyalty went both ways. They were also cast offs, but they were also loyal to Avalon for not throwing them away. Rei's back was turned to the man, who note that his garb was strange for a human. He spoke carefully, "I saw that ya had a signet. But that jacket, ain't those kind usually black?"

The human blinked and then turned around. He wore a white overcoat with crimson straps around it. His hair was wavy, yet a bit unkempt. On the back was a crimson cross with wings that were akin to devil's, only ebony. It was more a clue to the Bluerose as to who he was, while it was also a family seal. It would tell no one else that much information, unless they knew a great deal about the Tiste Andii families. Still, he had a planned lie, "This overcoat is my symbol of loyalty to the Paladin Order. It is lined, after all, with the Paladin armor." He could not show that without taking off the overcoat and cutting it up.

This, however, gripped at the guard's attention. He leaned forward and then grunted, "That was like the kind of overcoat that Unquis was rumored to wear." He seemed to chew on this bit of thought, that someone that could not have known Unquis would wear his armor in a similar manor. Then again, he was an Earthling, and likely thought it was just 'cool' or 'interesting'. With a lower grunt, the Paladin narrowed his eyes, "Tell me, did you know Unquis? Or perhaps the name Quon means something to you."

There was a pause before he spoke calmly, "Did I know Unquis?" He narrowed his eyes before he snapped, "The Paladin Unquis saved me during the mad god's release. While those human reporters were not given any details, after I was taken out by that man..." His eyes flashed with rage before he turned his head away. "As a Paladin, he is not my idol. He is more a hero of legend. If you believe that heroes are not worth taking second looks at, then let me know. But I've always thought that Unquis was a hero."

It was clear that he knew more than he would say, and the guard's brows furrowed. How did he know Quon so well? The man had been watched carefully by two councils, and then by the Order its self. But, then again, he did have his fans and those that wanted to emulate him after he had killed Halcyon. But there was something different about this one. "You say that Unquis saved you, back on Earth?" Not even he knew that it was a god of madness, but then again, he had been close, if this story was true. The guard glared back at Rei before he turned away and walked over to the entrance. "I still cannot let you in."

Rei swiftly turned around and snapped, "Have a good day." He was far more annoyed than he wanted to be, but there was no way to really get around it. This guy was really getting on his nerves. But he would have to play this calmer. He might not have to just go in, at this time. The human would have to wait for a guard switch. As Rei pulled the coat a little tighter, he moved around the corner as he pulled the magic of his Warren around the coat and turned the look of the coat into that of Quon's. There was another place that he had to visit before the Bluerose.

Central City yawned out before him as the human strode with his hands in his pockets. Not only was it unusual for him to use this appearance, but it drew a bit of attention. Of course, it was not every day that Paladin walked the streets with such an angry or upset expression. However, he was able to keep his emotions in check. As he walked, he withdrew light gray stone, with a dark blue crystal with white fissures that ran along its sides and sparkled on the inside. He moved into an alleyway and sat on a crate that smelled of horrible cheese and somewhere in the back, it smelled like a drunkard.

"Witch." The word was spoken calmly as though he had her beside him. The Witch of Time and Space's face appeared on the crystal, as he saw what he needed from her. Light annoyance was always needed from that Immortal Witch. "I have not yet secured Bloodeye. However, his time is very near at an end." Rei had killed him the first time that he was here, or he had thought that he had. But that crafty bastard had waited until Rei had left to use the Tiste Endur Warren to stop his blood. He was now kept alive by machinery, someone that must bite at him.

Before Rei could say another word, Yuuko snapped, "And what do you need to kill that fool for?" The question seemed to jolt that Soultaken human, so she continued, "Our mission is not to kill Bloodeye. Now that you have his location, Yukimura's ten assassins can kill him." All of the old warriors had quickly learned how to access therir ability to use ki, and Yuuko was now training them in the Plains area. "Oh, and Sanada wants to speak to you. He says that he wants to visit Central City."

Oh, gods below! Rei could only imagine how the man would stare around at the wonders of the city and gleefully (on the inside) squeel about the areas that he had planned to take Yukimura, but this was too soon. He grunted with frustration and then replied, "Of course, Yuuko. I was on my way to see the human ambassador. As a Paladin, and a human Paladin at that, they cannot refuse me this." This seemed to finally draw a small smile from Yuuko before she blew out a puff from her long pipe.

"Now, then, Rei, we had a bargain for this. I will teach these troops, but you must indulge in the leader' wishes to see the cities. Your plans to visit the ambassador will just have to wait. Yukimura will be arriving soon, so I suggest that you move quickly."

Rei snarled, but there was no way that he would be able to deny Yukimura. That Sanada family was used to using their shinobi to gather information, and here they had been able to just use them in a basic manor. The Paladin narrowed his eyes at the Witch and growled, "Mind the remaining Sanada and make sure that none of their allies stray far, woman." Her face darkened, but she was not able to talk back to the human. He was still more powerful than she was, and her magic was not able to contest against his mastery of a Warren that could destroy her magics with its corrosive nature.

His body flickered from the crate he had sat on as he had locked onto the ki signature of Yukimura. The man was still not used to the teleport ability that Rei had, and yet against he was forced to block a blow from a sheathed spear. The pole slammed against his arm and nearly split, both due to the toughness of his own skin an the armor that he wore. Yukimura blkinked a moment before he coughed and spoke, "Ah, well, there are you, Rei-dono. The Witch informed me that you would show up." It was, Rei knew, more embarrassing for the man than usual, as they were in public. The Paladin shook his head slightly before he gave Yukimura a slight bow.

"Just be careful. It was the right kind of reaction, Sanada-kun." He then turned as Yukimura stepped up to just behind him. He swept his arm towards the end of the mouth of the entrance and said, "This is Central City." He guided Yukimura through the first part of the city rather quickly as he pointed out the more boring parts of the city, like where the Council was that ruled Avalon. "Be wary," warned the Paladin as they paused for a water break, "Avalonian people do not appreciate the thought of the Council being dismantled."

The Sanada nodded his head; the government here seemed and was far from the same that he had grown up and knew. The farms were not in the city or even near it, for he had exsplored the outer edges of the city. He had asked questions that the pointy eared Aliens had thought strange. He asked about jou of land that they owned, but of course, they did not know what a jou was. He had wondered whom they sent their crops to, but that question had earned him strange looks. For Yukimura, this planet was strange. In fact, he wondered if Earth was still the same.

"Rei-dono, tell me, how has Earth changed since my time?" The Sanada narrowed his eyes. The kunoichi and regular shinobi had not been allowed to leave that bubble of magic, and the baracks that they stayed at were not like the ones that he had been used to in his day. They were more cramped and held more pleasure and lazy items within them. For Yukimura, they were too strange to be understood for him. And Rei seemed to know more about what his people were going through.

Rei narrowed his eyes before he turned his head a moment before he said, "Since your times? People are more lazy for the start." He paused a moment as he drank from his cup and then swished the water around as he added, "Disease is not as rampant. Treatments for sickness are readily available." He paused once more before he finished, "People have become less cultured. They colral like animals in order to earn money, which is kind of like rice from your time, in order to pay for everything." He withdrew some zeni from his pocket and threw it up and caught it with his hand as he clenched his fist, "Earth and most other cities require it to do anything."

Sanada narrowed his eyes and placed his hands under his chin as he had allowed his elbows to stand on the table. His gaze turned to Rei narrowed his eyes, "So, it seems that the world has changed on in certain ways. Coin as rice, medicine that is able to be used. Less disease is nothing new. As long as we kept the dead away from the more healthy warriors, we were fine. We could even fling the dead with diesase at the enemy." With a calm look, Yukimura looked at Rei directly in his eye, "Materials and details have simply changed, I suppose."

The Paladin nodded his head before he pushed himself up and said, "Our next visit shall be to a dojo. I wish to show you how the Paladins have fought, for centuries." Yukimura had a katana strapped to his side, even as he carried his spear with him. So he knew that Yukimura had skill with a blade, a spear, and the bow. His dojo that he had used would never remember him, and he knew that Quon had not visited it.

The Sanada warrior shook his head a moment before he stood and stretched his limbs as they two prepared to go off. He spied an alien that he actually found attractive as he scanned the crowd and muttered, "At least the view isn't so bland around this place." A quiz gaze from Rei was only met with a slight smile as they walked to the dojo, where he was surprised to see the woman enter with the equal status of the men. He narrowed his eyes a bit before Rei placed a hand on his shoulder. The squeeze was harsh and forced him to look over at the Soultaken human.

"I can't let you storm in there. This one requires a Paladin escort to get into. And, we shall also need you to stay level headed. Both genders can be Paladins." The truth of the matter was, he was not able to tell this samurai that whole truth, that she had been an old love interest. He knew her power signature and had placed a tracking piece of magic on her. The real truth was that he was here to kill her. And the investigation would not show up as Rei, but as a Tiste Andii. He had thought long, and he had weighted through his options. Even with the army that Yuuko had raised for him, and was even now training, he would need more man power.

He was going to need Avalon and it's Paladins to attack the Sky Keep, the Moon's Spawn. He would never rely on the Tiste Liaosan, that was just against his very soul. He was taught never to trust them, and that how he operated. Besides, the light skinned bastards had already made several moves to block him. Their leader was more cunning that he had thought.

Rei removed his hand from Yukmura's shoulder and grunted before he snapped, "Be ready, young samurai. It is yet to be determined; that is, the fate that will befall the army. I predict glory. You have predicted death, and in that death, legends and glory. However, never loose sight of the goal. Our goal is not to kill everyone, nor create legends. But I shall not deny your wants in battle."

Yukimura nodded as the grip on his spear tightened. Rei had not only understood what it was that was needed, but also what was not needed. The glory of a samurai was to fall for his master's sake, or take the head of an opponent. That much was still relevant to Yukimura. A head and then maybe his death. He needed the head of a commander, of someone killed. That brute, Oda Nobunaga, had not worked on that system. He rejected the traditional and old ways. Yukimura's blood seared with the memory of that old enemy, enough that he nearly snapped the shaft of his own spear.

While Yukimura was sure to be a fool and get them both in trouble, Rei had an objective to secure, and that was the death of this woman. Although this was more to blame the Tiste Andii, particularly the Soultaken among them, this was also and older Andii tradition. She was an old fling, as the saying went. They had had an on and off relationship a few hundred years back and went up to the day that he was taken. However, Rei was now engaged to Shyvana, and so it was only right that he kill the bitch that he did not need. While he was not her first, she had admitted that no other man could live as long as she would like them to; that is, by years of life.

She was a dark haired woman in this appearance, dark, dark drown hair with nearly ebony eyes. She had creamy white skin and had the look of a gentle soul. However, she was no gentle soul. In fact, he suspected that she was an older deity from the Andii legends that lost her following. Now that she was faithless, no one would miss her passing, and her throne would be there for an Acendant, in time. She was not what Quon's old fling was, or rather, almost fling. He was almost sad that Quon had never made it to a full manhood yet. Almost a waste, he had that thought a few times before.

In any case, he dragged Yukimura up to the guard, who looked down at him and smiled lightly, "We were expectin' ya. The one with the black-skinned student, ya?" Rei was not all that surprised that Yamaru was already here. The Tiste Andii was there to set up their escape through Kurald Galain, and to open the portal when the time was right. Yamaru was also likely there to keep tabs on his target; she was what Yamaru had identified her as. The Tiste Andii had been staying low at the Bluerose dojo, and it was a wonder that no one there questioned his darker skin. For both their sake, he was very lucky indeed.

Rei's appearance stunned the man who stood out side the dojo as the man licked his lips nervously before he said, "Your not Unquis, but you have adopted his style of armor or just attire...either way. Welcome to the Dojo of the Mistress." He bowed to the samurai and the Paladin before he stepped to the side and placed his arm out as he sought to invite them to join in the Dojo's special day. The day when real weapons were allowed for sparring matches.
