Ayumi and Jared had traced down the given street they needed to find this man's garage. They could see what looked like a garage up ahead. Pulling up to it, Jared removed his helmet and looked at the semi-large building structure. There was a shutter door that obviously lead to the inside of the garage. At the far right there was a normal door to step through. Ayumi and Jared looked at each other. Then the two headed over to the front door. Ayumi knocked on the door and waited for someone to respond. It wouldn't be long before a man in his late 30s opened the door and looked at them. "What do you want?" Ayumi pulled a card from her pocket. "I was sent here by someone who told me to give you this." The man looked at the card. She then flipped it around to show the symbol. The man reacted to the symbol and took the card. "I see. You must be the new recruit." Jared and Ayumi looked at him in shock. The man had a smile on. "New...recruit!?" Jared went. Ayumi was silent. But after thinking everything over, she shook her head and stepped on forward. "Yes...I am." Jared looked at her like she was crazy. "Ayumi, what are you doing?" Ayumi looked at him for a moment. She had a dead serious look in her eye as she nodded. Then she walked inside saying, "You want me to learn speed duels right? How else am I supposed to do it?" Jared seemed stunned at first. He wasn't sure how he should process this. Ayumi was lead around the garage by the man who answered the door. "Bruce called me to tell me you were coming. He seemed rather excited by you. Guess you must be a big deal." Ayumi shook her head. As she looked around, she saw several people working in the garage. Jared soon followed. He wanted to make sure Ayumi stayed safe. "By the way, my name's Boulder," he said. "Ayumi. Jared here is a friend of mine," she replied. Jared raised a brow. Friend? Boulder acknowledged him with a nod. Jared nodded back but kept a bit of a suspicious look on. "So I understand you need a D-Wheel," said Boulder. "Yes, Jared is attempting to show me how to do speed duels. Jared interjected. "Yeah it seemed like a good idea at the time." Boulder acknowledged Jared again with a nod. "Well I can help you with the D-Wheel. I have this one that I've been working on. It still needs a better CPU engine but it should suffice." Ayumi shook her head. She was willing to take whatever he had. Boulder led the pair into his workspace. A vehicle was covered with a drape to hide its appearance. Boulder went over to the drape and pulled it off. "Lady and Gentleman, I give you the D-Wheel!" He pulled off the drape. Ayumi and Jared could now see the vehicle. It was designed to look like a rather large sport bike. The frame was painted with a mauve and white scheme. There were what appeared to be thrust boosters attached to both sides of the rear. "It's a pretty basic design. I enhanced it with the thrusters since most gang duelists seem to like to have them. The duel panel is also basic. If you notice the duel disk panel and support slots are integrated onto the dashboard. So no hybrid duel disk! You'll definitely want a better CPU chip if you hope to get the best performance outta her." Ayumi gave a nod. She placed herself in the seat of the D-Wheel and reached for the handle bars. She saw a button on the dashboard and pushed it. The screen came on instantly and she was able to check the sound of the engine. Twisting the accelerator on the right handle bar she heard a moderate "Vroom" sound out of the bike. The D-Wheel was definitely not as powerful as her old one. "It runs at least," She said. "Well, glad you're satisfied," "We'll just be taking this thing then and be on our way." said Jared. Boulder suddenly forced his hand down onto the hood of the D-wheel. This startled Ayumi. Looking over to him, she saw Boulder had a sneaky grin on his face. "I don't think so. I can't just give this way to anyone." "What?" replied Ayumi. "D-Wheels are duelists. Bruce sent you here for this D-Wheel so you must be a fairly skilled duelist. How about we price this D-Wheel at a victory against me in a duel?" Ayumi gave a nod. "Hmm..." she went. "I cannot be giving away my handiwork to an unskilled duelist now can I?" "Ayumi..." Ayumi held up her hand to Jared. "I accept the duel." "But...your deck..." Jared went. "My deck is perfectly fine for this." Boulder went over to his desk and pulled out a standard issue duel disk. "I keep a lot of throwback technology in this garage. This very first version of high tech duel disk system is just one of many." She was given the duel disk to use. Strapping it on her arm she shuffled her deck and placed it inside the deck holder. Boulder meanwhile grabbed a duel disk for himself. It was a more current model. Placing his deck inside, the shuffler mixed up his deck for him. There was a door on the other side end of the room. Boulder led Jared and Ayumi out into what was a large open space with a dumpster by the gate. Both players took their place on opposite sides. "I'm curious as to why Bruce thinks highly of you. Show me a good duel and the D-wheel is yours." Ayumi gave a nod as she held up her left arm for the duel disk to unfold and activate. *DUEL!* Ayumi and Boulder drew their starting hands. Jared stood on the sidelines, wondering how this would all play out. Boulder reached for his deck. "I'll make the first move! Draw!" He drew his first card of the game. He looked at it and added it to his hand. A card then was pulled from his hand and he placed it on the monster panel. Producing a semi-large mechanical snake. "I summon Cyber Valley!" He declared. Ayumi look at the card as it displayed 0 for its attack and defense. Boulder continued his turn by placing a card in his support slot. The card's enlarged image was placed in front of him. "Magic Card - Machine Duplication, activates! With this card, I'm allowed to select a machine with 500 attack or less and special summon up to two additional copies of the creature from my deck. Appear now, my two Cyber Valleys!" Two more mechanical snakes appeared on the field. What's his aim by playing three monsters with 0 attack points? Ayumi thought. "Cyber Valleys effect: I can remove one monster on my field along with itself. Then I can draw two more cards from my deck." Boulder removed two cyber valleys from his field. The creatures vanished from the field after he removed the cards. He then drew his next two cards. After that, three face down cards appeared on his side of the field. "I set three cards face down. Turn finished." Those set cards.... Jared thought as he scowled. Ayumi drew a card from her deck. She looked at the card and gave a nod. "Permanent Magic Card - Soul Absorption, activate!" she said as she played the card. "Whenever a card is removed from play, I'll gain 500 life points." She then played another spell card from her hand. "Magic Card - Allure of Darkness! I draw two cards with this one's effect. Then I remove from play a dark monster in my hand. Otherwise I'm forced to discard my entire hand." Ayumi drew from the top of her deck. She revealed a monster card from her hand. "D.D. Crow is removed from play by Allure of Darkness's effect! Now I'll activate Soul Absorption! D.D. Crow's removal gains me 500 points of life." Ayumi had a blue aura surround her as her life points increased. Her duel disk then suddenly had a slot tray extend at the end. "Field Magic - Future Vision, activate!" She placed a card in the slot and retracted the tray. Suddenly the surroundings changed to that of an empty void of orange, blue, and white colors. Boulder and Jared looked around at the new surroundings in awe. "Future Vision's effect; when a player normal summons a monster, that monster will be removed from play till their next standby phase." "I see!" "Now I'll summon Necroface in attack mode!" A dimension hole opened up revealing a half dead zombie creature's face floating above the ground. "Now the effect of Future Vision activates. Necroface will be removed from the field." A rip in the void appeared that swallowed the creature up. Then suddenly a beam of energy shot out from the hole. "What's going on?" Boulder asked. "Several things! First, I'll point out that Necroface's normal summon allows us to shuffle all cards removed from play back into our decks." Ayumi removed her deck from the holder and placed her Necroface and D.D. Crow back inside of it. She shuffled the deck and placed it back in the holder. Boulder placed his two Cyber Valleys back on top of his deck. The auto shuffler then shuffled his deck again. Ayumi's permanent magic card started to glow. "Now, Soul Absorption gives me 500 life points!" Ayumi's healing aura appeared around her again. She then pointed to her deck. "Necroface was removed from play. So now by its 2nd effect we both remove the top 5 cards of our deck from play!" "What?" Boulder exclaimed. Boulder pulled the top 5 cards of his deck off and placed them in his back pocket. Ayumi pulled the top five cards off her deck and placed them in her shirt pocket. She then pointed to soul absorption. "Cards were removed. So now I get 500 points of life for each one." Jared and Boulder reacted in shock. "10 cards were removed. That's 5,000 life points!" Boulder said. Jared had a grin on his face. I forgot how good of a ground duelist Ayumi actually is! She gave me a pretty good run before the end of the last duel. Two cards appeared face down on Ayumi's side of the field. "These two cards go face down. Turn end. Now then..." She pulled two cards from her shirt pocket. "D.D. Scout Plane! When it is removed from play, I can special summon it in attack mode. I have not just one but two! So I'll summon these two to the field now." The void opened up releasing two machine creatures to the field. Boulder was shocked. She gave herself 6,000 life points and two monsters in a single turn. ---- Boulder: 4,000 LPs Ayumi: 10,000 LPs He drew his next card. If I normal summon a monster it will be removed from play and give her more life points. He looked at the card he drew. He then pointed to his center face down card which stood up. "Reverse card open! Cybernetic Evolution! By releasing one machine type monster on my field, I can special summon a level 5 or 6 machine monster with "Cyber" in its name from my hand! I release Cyber Valley." He took the Cyber Valley card off his duel disk and placed it in the graveyard slot. Then he placed another card on the panel face up. "Then I special summon Cyber Dragon!" Suddenly a much larger version of the cyber snake appeared and gave a distorted roar. "Next my other face down opens. Cybernetic Transfusion! This card lets me use machine type monsters on my opponent's side of the field when I perform a fusion summon!" Ayumi scowled. Next Boulder pulled another card out of his hand. "Magic Card - Polymerization! This lets me send monster cards from my hand or field to the graveyard to perform a fusion summon." Ayumi gave nod. She threw her right hand toward her left most face down card. "This is the moment! Reverse card open! Different Dimension Ground! During this turn, cards sent to the graveyard are removed from play instead." Boulder scowled. "I'll release my Cyber Dragon and your two D.D. Scout Planes." Cyber Dragon along with Ayumi's two Scout Planes turned into pure energy that rose to the air at the center of the field. "Fusion Summon! Appear now, Chimeratech Overdragon!" A beam of energy shot down onto the ground in front of Boulder. What appeared now was a 6-headed machine like dragon creature. Ayumi gazed up at the machine dragon nearly shocked as the creature gave a powerful roar that shook the field. "This isn't good!" Jared said. "Allow me to show you some of Overdragon's abilities. First off, its attack and defense are equal to 800 times the number of machine monsters I used to fusion summon it. So now its 2400." The dragon had a powerful aura appear around it as its power increased. "Its next effect would send all cards I have on the field besides this creature to the graveyard. But I'm activating my final face down card now. Limiter Removal!" The final face down card stood up on the field revealing a spell card. "Limiter Removal doubles the attack power of all machine monsters I control for the turn." Ayumi and Jared became fearful just then. The creature had electric sparks shooting around it as it became even more ferocious. "4800 attack points!?!" They said. "Hehe! Now I'll point out the last ability! Chimeratech Overdragon can attack once for each fusion Material monster used for its summon!" "That's three attacks!!" Jared yelled. Ayumi growled as she stared down this gigantic dragon. "Chimeratech Overdragon, Direct Attack! EVOLUTION RESULT BURST!!!!" The four of the dragon's heads began charging up energy. The first head fired directly at Ayumi with its gathered power. The blast struck head on. "AAAAAAGH!!!" screamed Ayumi. "Second attack!" screamed Boulder. The second head fired on Ayumi, striking direct. Ayumi tried to stand her ground but was thrown backward. She hit the wall and dropped down to her hands and knees. Jared looked over to her in fear. "Ay...Ayumi!!" Jared shouted. "Now for the end! Looks like that D-Wheel isn't going anywhere. Chimeratech Overdragon! Final attack!" The 3rd dragon head unleashed the energy it stored toward Ayumi. Ayumi looked directly into the center of the blast as it headed her way. Jared was staring at Ayumi in shock. "This is gonna hurt bad!" Ayumi stood up as the blast from Chimeratech Overdragon barreled its way toward. Jared seemed easily horrified at the looming disaster that was headed her way. Ayumi pressed a button on her duel disk, revealing her last face down card. "Trap Card open, Defense Draw!" The card stood in between her and the blast, creating a barrier dome around Ayumi. The blast crashed into it, leaving her safe from its fury. Jared dropped down on his knees in relief. Boulder seemed surprised. "Defense Draw brings one instance of battle damage down to 0. Then I'm allowed to draw a card from my deck," she explained. She drew the top card of her deck and then looked down at her face up permanent magic card. "I'll also have you remember Soul Absorption has been in play this entire time. With Dimension Ground floating for the turn all cards for the graveyard were removed from play. So I gained life for each card." ---- Boulder: 4,000 LPs Ayumi: 3,400 LPs "Through by the skin of your teeth! Hmph. I'll equip my monster with this card...Cyber Protection Patch!" Boulder placed a card down and a large electronic patch was placed on the "chest" of the mechanical dragon. "When a machine monster would be destroyed by an effect, I can release this card to negate the destruction of my monster." A face down card appeared just then. "Finally I place one card face down to end my turn!" Ayumi pointed to her left. "The two D.D. Scout Planes that were removed from play return to the field in attack mode!" A dimension hole opened up, allowing the two mechanical scouts to reappear onto the field. "I release Cyber Protection Patch to negate the destruction of my Chimeratech Overdragon!" Boulder said. The patch vanished. "Soul Absorption gives me 500 points for each card removed. With my Defense Draw and your Equipment card, that's 1000 points." Ayumi looked down at her duel disk. The end of the turn meant the expiration of her Different Dimension Ground. She reached for her deck and drew a card. Looking up at the overdragon she gave a sigh. Chimeratech Overdragon's attack power returned to 2400. But it can still attack three times per turn. "I'll switch my two scout planes to defense mode!" She placed two cards face down. "These face down! Turn over!" Boulder drew his next card. "Instant Magic open, Mystical Space Typhoon! This will let me destroy one magic or trap card on the field. I'll destroy your soul absorption!" Placing the card in a support slot, a powerful cyclone swept across the field and picked up Ayumi's soul absorption. The card image shattered from the field. "That ends your life gain system. Now I'll summon Cyber Phoenix!" He placed the card down producing a mechanical phoenix bird to the field. "The effect of Future Vision activates! Your Cyber Pheonix is removed from play till the standby phase of your next turn." "Afraid not, sweet pea. When Cyber Phoenix is face up, machine type monsters cannot be targeted by spell and trap cards. So Cyber Phoenix remains on the field." Ayumi scowled again. "Chimeratech Overdragon attacks your first D.D Scout Plane!" Overdragon unleashed a powerful energy blast from its mouth toward Ayumi's Scout Plane on the left. Ayumi reacted by revealing a face down card. "Macros Cosmos! While this remains on the field, any card sent to the graveyard is removed from play instead." The blast smashed into the plane and forced it into a dimension hole. "Now I'll attack the second one!" Overdragon's second head fired a blast toward the 2nd plane, forcing it into a dimension hole. "Now, a direct attack!" Ayumi threw her right hand out toward her face down card. The card stood up and ripped open a dimension hole. "Trap card open, Dimension Wall!" The blast sunk into the opening. "Dimension Wall gives one instance of battle damage from attack meant for me back to my opponent instead." Boulder gave a look of fear just as a dimension hole opened in front of him, unleashing his own monster's blast toward himself. "GWAAGH!!" he screamed as the blast knocked him back. "Nice reversal, Ayumi!" Jared shouted. Angered, Boulder stood up and pointed at Ayumi. "Cyber Phoenix, Direct Attack!" The Cyber Phoenix unleashed a potent blast that hit Ayumi in the chest and knocked her back into a stagger. ---- Ayumi: 3200 LPs Boulder: 1600 LPs ----- The two duelists stood face to face. With both having tasted some damage from the other, the duel was starting to pick up in pace. “Not bad. I see now why Bruce was excited about you. But I won't be losing this one.” “Then make your next move!” Boulder looked at his remaining cards in hand. “No further moves left. I end my turn.” “During my end phase, the two D.D. Scout Planes you removed will return to the field.” The two scout planes re-emerged from through adjacent dimension holes. With that done, Ayumi reached for her deck and drew a card. She looked at the card she drew. “D.D. Survivor! I summon this in defense mode.” Survivor appeared from a hole in the dimension and took a defensive crouch next to one of Ayumi's scout planes. Boulder laughed at her. “Feel the effect of your own field card. Future Vision removes the monster you just summoned from play till your next standby phase.” Suddenly, the monster she summoned was sucked into a dimension hole below itself. Ayumi gave a nod. “I'll switch my Scout Planes back to defense before I end my turn. At the end phase of my turn, D.D. Survivor can be special summoned back to the field if it was removed from play this turn.” Survivor returned to the field in a defensive crouch. Ayumi then looked ahead of her for Boulder's turn to begin. He drew his next card and looked at it. “Cyber Pheonix attacks your D.D. Survivor.” The creature unleashed its energy in the form of a beam that slammed into D.D. Survivor. "Now taste the fury of my Chimeratech Overdragon!!" Two of the dragon heads fired energy at Ayumi's two monsters. The last head fired a blast directly at her. All three struck with explosive impact. Ayumi was thrown back against the wall. She fell to the ground and seemed to struggle getting back up. "Ayumi!" Jared exclaimed again. Ayumi managed to get up to one knee. "You're pretty resilient, girl. But my Chimeratech Overdragon is going to overpower those defenses of yours soon enough. I place a card face down to end my turn." Ayumi wiped the sweat off of her forehead. With her life points dwindling, her next turn needs to be a good one. Words: 3,590 |

Ayumi looked up at Chimeratech Overdragon. She took a deep breath and got back to her feet. Resuming duel stance she began to think about her situation. Cyber Phoenix being present made her unable to target either one with effects of any kind. Her own field spell made it so that if she summoned a monster normally, it would be removed from play. Then there were the face down cards Boulder had set. Ayumi had yet to draw her card though. "Heh, you don't seem eager to continue. Has my setup overwhelmed you?" Boulder spoke. Ayumi gritted her teeth as his words reached her ears. She reached for her deck. "It's my turn!" She drew her next card. She looked at it for a moment. She nearly gasped in shock. "Magic Card - Creature Swap!" She placed the card swiftly into a support slot, projecting the card image. "Are you serious!?" Boulder asked. "With this card, we choose one monster on our side of the field and surrender control of it to the opposing player." Ayumi had a grin. "Now you have yourself a painful decision to make. Will you surrender your powerhouse? Or your power house's protection? The monster I choose to swap over is my D.D. Scout Plane." Boulder scowled as he looked to his field. He gave a nod and pulled his Cyber Phoenix card off his duel disk. Ayumi removed her D.D. Scout Plane card from her duel disk. Simultaneously, the two players flung their chosen card across the field to each other, having them both catch the thrown cards between their fingers. "Cyber Phoenix is mine." She summoned the creature to the field in her control. "I release my D.D Survivor from play in order to special summon the tuner monster, Different Dimension Spirit!" She brought to the field a small pixie fairy creature. She then stood on an angle and pointed to the sky. "I'm tuning my level four Cyber Phoenix, my level two D.D. Scout Plane and my level one Different Dimension Spirit!" The pixie spirit took to the air, becoming a single bright star. The star drew up a green ring of energy. Cyber Phoenix and D.D. Scout Plane rose to the air where the green energy ring surrounded them. They turned to bright stars that lined up to form a line of 6. "Transcending the boundaries of time and space will bring a new possibility! It wields the power to bend destiny!" A green energy beam shot through the ring swallowing the energy stars before crashing to the ground in front of Ayumi. "Synchro Summon! Emerge forward, Paradox Swordsman!" The white/gold armored warrior emerged from the light and took his place on the field, wielding an energy sword in his grip. "2700 attack points!" Boulder said as he looked at the warrior. "Ayumi's ace monster." Jared said under his breath. She pointed at Chimeratech Overdragon. "Paradox Swordsman's effect: Once per turn I can remove a monster on the field from play. That monster returns to the field on the 2nd standby phase after this effect's activation!" "Grrr!" "Paradox Swordsman will remove your Overdragon from play!" Paradox Swordsman prepared his blade to strike. "Time Shifting!" Boulder however seemed able to retaliate. He pushed a button on his duel disk and flipped up a face down card. "Trap card open! Cyber Shift! This switches the effect of a magic, trap or monster effect that targets a machine monster to another monster. You'll be removing your own Scout Plane! Paradox Swordsman's blade was then directed at the Scout Plane. The scout plane was removed from play instead when Paradox Swordsman stabbed it with the energy blade. Ayumi pointed at Chimeratech Overdragon. "Paradox Swordsman attacks your Overdragon! Dimension Slash!" The swordsman crossed the field to attack. "I won't allow that either! Trap card open! Soul Anchor!" Ayumi scowled yet again. "This trap becomes an equip card to a designated monster. While its equipped, the monster can't be destroyed in battle!" "But the damage calculation still occurs!" Ayumi said. The swordsman smacked against Overdragon with the sword but was unable to cut through. He just keeps managing to keep that creature on the field somehow! The Swordsman returned back to his place on the field. "Silly girl! Don't think because you Synchro Summon the battle will just get easier. Fusion monsters are still very powerful." Ayumi shook her head as she took a card from her hand. "I lay this face down. Turn end!" "Your D.D. Survivor and two scout planes return to the field now." Ayumi watched as her three monsters returned to the field. Her D.D Survivor was the only one to return in defense position. Boulder quirked his eyebrows and drew his next card. ---- Ayumi: 800 LPs Boulder: 1300 LPs "You have two monsters in play that I can destroy. I only need to destroy one of them to win. But I'm sure your face down card is an issue. So why don't deal with that first. Magic Card - Cold Wave!" He played the card and projected the image in front of him. "Cold Wave prevents us from playing or setting any Spell or Trap cards until my next turn. This card will lock you down." Ayumi gave a grin. "You predicted wrong." "What's that?" "Your cold wave card would be pretty effective if the card I had face down was meant to block your attacks. But the face down card I have doesn't block attacks and is chainable to your cold wave." She pointed at her face down card. "Instant Magic open! Forbidden Chalice!" The magic card stood up on the field to be visible. Jared and Boulder looked at the card in surprise. "This card will give a monster on the field 400 extra attack points. But it will negate the monster's effect until the end phase of the turn. The original attack and defense points of Chimeratech are set by the monster's effect when you summoned it. With it negated, your monster's attack points go back to being 0 before the increase!" Boulder reacted in surprise. His dragon proceeded to power down before his very eyes. Jared smiled just then. "She outwitted him. Because Chimeratech's effects activate when summoned, the monster's attack power will stay 0 after Chalice expires." Boulder looked at his monster in disbelief. "You trapped yourself, Boulder. Cold Wave now prevents you from setting any extra protection you might have been able to use to block my efforts next turn!" Boulder shook his head. "I suppose so! But I'm not finished yet. I'll remove from play the Cyber Valley I have in my graveyard." He pulled the card out of his graveyard. "This will let me special summon Cyber Eltanin!" Emerging from a hole in the dimension now was a mecha dragon's head which had several other mecha snake dragon heads attached on both sides. Ayumi looked shocked to see this creature. "What is this?" "My true ace monster! Cyber Eltanin gains 500 attack points for each monster removed for its summon!" Ayumi looked confused at that point. "It's only got 500 points!" Boulder then extended his hand toward his new creature. "Now, I activate its monster effect! When its special summoned to the field, all other face up monsters on the field get sent to the graveyard!" Ayumi's eyes widened in shock. Multiple worm holes opened up in the void they were in. The holes started swallowing every monster on the field except Cyber Eltanin. "My Paradox Swordsman!!" "Gone, and unlike your other three monsters, he doesn't come back! Cyber Eltanin, direct attack!" The creature's largest head opened its mouth. From the mouth came a beam of energy that shot out and hit Ayumi. She dropped to her knees just then. Her life points dropped to 300. "Turn finished!" Ayumi stood up on her feet again. She pulled out 3 cards and placed them back on the duel disk. She reproduced her two Scout Planes and D.D. Survivor. She looked at her hand. Cold Wave reduced her to only being able to summon monsters at this point. She looked to her deck and placed two fingers on it. "My turn." She drew the card but didn't look at it. Cyber Eltanin only has 500 attack points. I can destroy it by attacking with a monster. But surely Boulder knew of this when he summoned the Eltanin. So why? She pondered for a moment and then a thought came to her. What if...? Hmm. I see! I get it now! She looked at her card. Her face restrained to show a reaction. "It's here!" She said. "What?" went Boulder. She reached for her D.D Scout Plane. "I release D.D. Scout Plane." The creature vanished from the field. Ayumi placed a card down on the field in its place. "Then I advance summon Caius the Shadow Monarch!" A hole in the dimension opened, sparks of black lightning going off around the hole. Slowly emerging from the field was a shadow creature with a black energy aura around it. The creature took its place on the field staring at the opponent with evil eyes. Boulder was not phased by the summon. "Heh, nice monster but did you forget the effect of Future Vision? The monster you just advance summoned is going to be removed." "Not before getting its effect! When Caius is advance summoned, he's able to remove from play one monster on the field." "My Eltanin!!" Ayumi gave a nod. "It seems that getting rid of my Synchro monster was not the true aim of your new monster. Cyber Eltanin is a light attribute creature. There's a monster in the Light Attribute class that when discarded during the damage step will allow you to increase the attack points of your light attribute monster. That card is Honest. The true aim of your Cyber Eltanin's summon was to have me fall victim to the effect of Honest!" Boulder stared at the cards in his hand. Sure enough, one of the cards he held was Honest. Boulder gave a grin as he then looked to Ayumi. "You figured me out. Well played, girl!" He revealed the Honest card in his hand, "Well played!" Ayumi returned his grin with one of her own and gave a nod. "Caius removes your Eltanin from play!" Caius charged a black energy sphere between its hands. "Shadow Exile!!" Caius unleashed the blast of energy from its hands toward Cyber Eltanin. The energy swallowed the creature, revealing it to be trapped in the center. Once that was done, both Caius and Eltanin vanished from the field. Ayumi looked over to her D.D Survivor, which had been placed into attack position. "D.D. Survivor, direct attack!" Survivor crossed the field swiftly. With a forceful thrust, Survivor launched a punch at Boulder and struck him square in the gut. The punch made him keel forward before he dropped to his hands and knees. Ayumi gave a nod. "With this, it is settled!" Ayumi deactivated her duel disk causing everything to return to normal. All of Ayumi's monsters vanished from sight and she regathered her deck to be placed back in the deck box on her belt. Boulder walked over to her clapping slowly. "Very impressive duel, girl! Truly, Bruce has placed his judgment of character well with you." Ayumi took off the duel disk and handed it back to him. "Thank you!" "As a man of my word, the D-Wheel is yours." Ayumi looked over to Jared. Jared had a smile on his face but said nothing. Not too long after that, Ayumi was back up front of the garage with Jared and Boulder. "Keep in mind the D-wheel still needs some work before it can run at max performance. But I'm sure you both can handle that." Jared grinned at Boulder. "We certainly can. And if not we'll be looking your way for help." Jared said. Boulder just shook his head. Jared looked over to Ayumi. She was placing a helmet on her head that matched the color of her new D-Wheel. "Ready, Ayumi?" "Yeah!" Jared and Ayumi started up their D-Wheels. "Thanks for everything!" Ayumi said. "Thank you actually! I haven't had a duel like that since I challenged Bruce! Give my regards!" The pair pulled off from garage back onto the street. They were heading down the road again with a feeling of accomplishment looming over them both. "Well, Ayumi, you're on the road after some impressive dueling," Jared said. "Yes, but it isn't over yet. I still need to construct my riding deck." She looked over at the empty deck holder on her left wrist. Then she looked back to the road ahead. Her eyes shifted to Jared for a moment before her lips curved into a crafty-like grin. And when I do, I'll be back to challenge you... she thought. Jared looked over to Ayumi for a moment and seemed to have a questioning expression on his face. “So now that you got a D-Wheel, how’s about a race?” he asked. “What?” She replied. “Well what’s the sense of us having these things if we don’t test them out?” “You’re a moron sometimes, Jared!” “I’m the moron who is about to beat you in a race!” “Yeah right!
