Having arrived on the hostile home world of one of his foes in this war; Kaito found he really did not feel all too concerned about his presence being noticed. With this visit holding no connection to the fighting going on throughout the universe, he could see no reason for his presence to stir up more than the usual amount of trouble he had a habit of finding himself in.

The landing was something of an oddity though, he would imagine; out in the middle of nowhere really, instead of in the smack center of one of the various cities. It was the tech within those cities that Kaito had no interest in being around; this trip was meant for something a bit more spiritual than scientific. A little outing with his younger sister; to introduce her to the spiritual awareness that he suspected dwelled within her; as it did most in their family.

Science and the supernatural; such opposite sides of each other, and yet one was constantly on the undertaking of explaining the other; to prove or disprove it. It was the supernatural that called him down to the planet this day; nothing malicious, but substantial enough that it would serve his purposes in testing Kaiya’s newly acquired, other worldly body.

With the ship settling down a few miles outside of the location Kaito had selected to begin this experiment; wait, no. Not nice to refer to this as an experiment per say. It was.. an adventure? Yes, adventure. That was a good work for it. A little adventure to help open his younger sister up to the supernatural. At least this form of supernatural; one that was often considered fake or a hoax.

With a grin, Kaito would make his way down the corridors until he reached Kaiya’s room. He had not enlightened her to the reason of this trip, but now was as good a time as any. With a knock to the door, Kaito would call out; ”We’ve arrived, sister. Ready to go ghost hunting?”

She wasn't in a grinning mood. She met Kaito's smile with indifference and shrugged her shoulders. They hadn't gotten anything over the channels quite yet and all this did was affirm disaster in her eyes. Not only that, but Avalon was a false light. Nothing here spoke of anything good or true. She'd been relieved when Kaito avoided the noisy city.
Kaiya had expected something entirely different for the locale, but it was always a surprise to be corrected up close.
She finished stuffing a scarf in her prep bag, just to know it was there and climbed out of bed.
She didn't bother fussing with her hair, just pulling it into a bunch before tying it up. She also ignored Tomoko's weaponry, leaving her room shut up as she joined her brother in the doorway.
She'd learned better than to press him for details.
Kaiya realized it was some sort of surprising. When Kaito became secretive like this, he was testing.
Knowing might throw off whatever her was looking for.

“Ghost hunting? Why would ghosts exist? Why would you want to hang around anywhere?” she answered sharply, storming past him.
She felt like being contradictory.
It wasn't that long ago that she had expressed her fear about the unknown and those she couldn't see, but Kaito didn't have to know that.
He wasn't often there.
“I suppose you have some magical dowsing rods or a lead then? So we know where we are going? Or is this a wild goose chase to keep me out of the ship?”
She hoped Kaito was at least a little more familiar with the planet than she was, because after stepping on its soil everything was alien.
What she wouldn't give for a tour guide.
“Do you have a map? I forgot to grab mine.”

Ah, a feisty Kaiya first thing in the morning, it was. Kaito could understand her anger; could understand why she was upset. He simply hoped to take her mind off the events they had left behind; it would do her no good to dwell on it right now. Not until she was strong enough to do something about it.

”Yes, Ghost Hunting. Does it strike you as strange, that I would partake in something like that, dear sister? It is something we can focus on and perhaps learn more about.” Kaito would smile, giving her a pat on the head as they headed out. This was going to be interesting; if she kept up such an attitude, he might just have to take her over his knee. Oh, wouldn’t that be an amusing turn of events; a sight to see.

It would no doubt lead to violence against him in his sleep, however; was that worth the risk? Maybe, maybe not; glancing about as they exited the ship, Kaito would grin. ”A map? No. We won’t need a map for this. It’s a simple thing for me to sense the unnatural disturbance; something I’ll have to teach you eventually. Now, just keep calm and walk along with me; and we’ll be there before you know it.”

Ah, he could feel the disturbances; not far from them in fact. It stirred his own thoughts on the generic idea of ghosts; he had a number of theories, but they were something that was difficult to experiment with. This could be a rare chance to get some decent, first hand experience; at least until he could find a way to approach Kaiya about the subject of the afterlife. Oh, that would be a funny conversation, wouldn’t it? How was one to begin such a question?
Hello sister. I’d like to ask you about the time you were dead. Do you remember that? Dying and being alone? Were you alone? Yeah, no; not going to go that route just yet. They would be nearing their destination now; the outskirts of the city, where things felt a little more rural. Kaito’s hand would lift slowly, pointing toward one of the buildings. ”That is where we’ll be going. That small little home there.”

She was stuck following Kaito once again. Her mood hadn't improved yet and she was staring down at the ground with a little frustration.
At least now the heat didn't press down upon them as they walked. As much as she loved Namek, it could be difficult to move during the day. Here, it was a little easier.
The heat wasn't oppressive and sticky. With her thoughts already drifting she realized how difficult it was to keep her mind on task this time.
With only the vague description of ghost hunting, Kaiya was left without an impression.
No right or wrong here, and no feel of urgency either. If this was an other worldly being it couldn't be that threatening.
Most of these situations turned out to be pranks anyway.

“I do find it a little odd. It seems unprofessional, and why would you not bring a map in case you get lost? This is idiotic...” she mumbled.
Once he pointed out the home she would just nod, making her feelings known by tromping on ahead. She wasn't going to tell her brother if she felt anything unusual in the air. She politely inquired about oddities, not really sure what it was she was expecting.
It certainly wasn't this. Something was coming in and turning chairs upside down, books to the floor, welcome mats on ceilings, exploding toilets and most absurd mass mess making she'd ever heard of. While the home owner shared frustration and incredulous shock she heard that this wasn't even the only case.
She looked to her brother at the bottom of the walk, her eyes wide.
“Are you telling me that this is supposed to be a ghost, and not some prank again?” she interrupted the story, holding up the man to pause. Her voice was losing its irritated edge, unable to hold it after the inappropriate hilarity she had heard.

“I mean, either way our first job is to set up surveillance and catch whatever it is red handed. I guess if you really are telling me it is a ghost we'd have to use a soul trap. I don't think you keep soul stones on you for fun, do you?”

Allowing Kaiya to take the lead in questioning, Kaito would smile and simply observe her directness. Ah, a foul mood she seemed to be in this morning. Perhaps she could feel the change, despite not knowing what it meant? Still uncertain of how to tell her, he wanted Kaiya to begin learning about the more spiritual and supernatural side of the universe, in hopes that it would make the truth easier for her to accept when the time came.

Until then though, he would make his own little observations about the building they were in; taking a self-led tour around the premise of what he was now considering the area of operations. Having brought the tools he expected them to need, Kaito would begin setting up in one of the rear rooms. Better off not letting others watch the arcane sigils his fingers sketched through the rifts; even as the voices of his own mind came forward against his will;

Reality is an alien fluid that resists our molding as it simultaneously accepts it. It is a malleable thing which rejects thought-forms projected by the average human. Only those individuals who have broken out of their prison can achieve a symbiotic relationship with the world around them. First, however, you must become one who knows. Everything depends on changing one’s being, and it starts with Self-Remembering.

Reality is the space around us allowing energy to flow. Energy is constantly manipulating us just as we send out similar vibrations. Unfortunately, the human mind can rarely concentrate long enough and with the necessary intensity to alter reality. Man is asleep and therefore he has no will. He cannot keep his attention on himself while focusing on the matter at hand. If he could, then things would be different. Man would be able to launch his sorcerous desires with enough power to create change.

With a quick shake of his head, Kaito would reaffirm that his feet still touched solid ground; before making his way back to the front to fetch his younger sister.

Awakening is the direct understanding that we are not who we believe we are. All the thoughts, images, and behaviors which we usually take as ourselves makes up a false reality; those things are not really us. It is that realization which means we are Awake. Soon, soon she will need to learn this and more about herself; though has her change to this new level of being purified her of the inherited taint that afflicts me so?

”Now, sister. Try not to be rude; we are here to help, not to judge. If you’ll join me in the back room, we’ll have this mess sorted out rather quickly, I think.”

She shut her mouth before she snapped back at him and just stared at the floor. She felt tired, her irritation was rising but her energy to display it was quickly thinning.
She was expecting something to happen here. The air was charged and the owners themselves looked jittery. They were possible expecting this fool of a being to appear and turn them all upside down and inside out.
Kaiya grinned a little to herself.
It had already worked hard to do that anyway.
Maybe this was proof that they could pull from energy in the air, and that was where the drain came from.
Maybe it was simply the realization that something was truly wrong.
It was that inescapable reality all over again and she wanted to drag something down with her.

She followed her brother into the back room and as she did she was pulling at the air. She wasn't sure what the action was exactly but that charge seemed almost tangible. If she could manipulate her own ki, what was stopping her from latching onto something else?
It wasn't really attached to a physical being anymore. The control was loosened maybe.
Whatever it was, it was behaving terribly as it was.
She tried to drag it in and pull it apart. She was only partly aware of it while her anger spread out.
“Is there a place to sit? Do we have a plan?” she murmured softly, tilting her head at her older brother. She rubbed her eyes and tried to hide the slouch of her shoulders. She was reaching for some hidden source of strength but there was nothing to draw from. She wanted this to be over with.

Her curiosity was only mildly active, the small part of her that was interested in the conclusion was more interested where her sister was.

The back room that Kaito had set up now churned with a chilling energy; energy siphoned through the rifts to give further form to their quarry; something he had set up himself to make it easier to control. After all, it was widely believed that spirits, ghosts, specters, whatever one wanted to call them, took in energy to manifest their various acts and wants. By providing an abundance of the rift energies that were his to control, Kaito was hoping to use them as a sort of tether for the spirit; to seal it away in a container for future study.

Now, it was back to determining what, if anything, little Kaiya could feel in this room; though as he turned to watch her, a far more pressing matter came to light. “Kaiya, you are plucking at strands of energy with the fingers of a child who knows not how to handle it. If you keep that up, you’re going to turn this from a benign sealing into a battle with a very angry, madness driven poltergeist. Doesn’t sound like fun, does it?”

“Of course, it’s a good thing you are able to interact with the energies. Might very well save your life one day, you know? Now, just stay calm, and watch what I do. Commit it to memory, in case you ever need to do something like this on your own for protection.”

With his instructions given; Kaito would smile once, before his face fell into a more serious mood; his hands beginning to move through the air before him; weaving together the various energies in the room; the natural and the unnatural that traveled through the rifts. It was a simple procedure, just guiding the energy into one compact point; when he would seal it together into an orb of solidified energy.

”And just like that, we are done. Far more difficult when going for a more aggressive spirit or ghost. Once we get back to the ship, I’ll show you the proof that we have something in here.”
