This was...the place, right? Cryognosis looks back over her right shoulder, towards the poor pioneer whom she had dragged along, probably more literally than figuratively, with the backwards-reached rear arms of her body. She had not been able to sleep well thanks to all of her depression, and the ainsou was in dire need of a distraction. Vlad had spoken of some ruins, and as an archeologist android, he was certainly kicking up thrills for the princess. Letting go, Cryo steps towards the ruins, and turns to the boy entirely with a smile "Kaiya!" She may have been asleep, but Cryo was awake as if ainsou were a species compatable with coffee, and furthermore that she had a good gallon or two. She didn’t quite have jitters, but no less, Cryo was practically bouncing with excitement, now that she felt physically better than she had before.

It was time for adventure! Cryo turns ahead entirely, letting go of the pioneer with a subtle effort of care so that she didn’t end up knocking away her friend, or anything else about as rough. Rather suddenly, even if predictably enough, the ainsou then darts ahead with a blatant disregard of any safety further than to not trip over herself along the way. Cryo easily expected Kaiya to become forced to press on ahead into the reckless unknown, even if the pace wouldn’t match her. There was also the fact that Cryo didn’t bring any illumination methods, and she hoped for the pioneer to have that covered. Yes, it was a bit of a malicious abuse, but no less, it was for no harm! Cryognosis may well have had no idea of what she was doing, but these ruins had a tunnel that was likely picked up by the ship's communications as seemingly haunted. Cryo, meanwhile, just felt the interesting ripples of ki influence washing across her body from them, and she wanted to know if some type of biotechnology was in development, only to become abandoned.
It wasn’t too long before Cryo found the foreshadowed shaft, in heavy disrepair, and an even partially collapsed entrance. Glancing about, she easily identified features of the surroundings. It looked like a small mining town had been stirring, only for the whole area to be shut down and abandoned for some reason. Looking down to near her feet, she noticed boards, fencing, and poles that were formally keeping the entrance guarded, only to be knocked down by the cave-ins. Perhaps something was contained in here, only for it to escape?
That felt a little morbid, admittedly. Cryognosis wasn’t sure what she wanted to think about the whole matter of so many dead citizens. Cryo’s features hardened for a moment, but then she presses on, with her ears twitching backwards, as excitement stirred in her mind again. She could discover the lost secrets of what happened! That is, she could discover them if only she could recreate the scene. Her training should have been sufficient, to a degree, even without tools anyway.

She was stumbling along familiar rock and rubble. She recognized the grounds, only vaguely from a distance. She had just been drifting into the warm embrace of sleep when she found herself up and walking. She'd managed to just get on her boots before rushing out of the door. Her clothes were mismatched with plaid pajama shorts and an extra long t-shirt, which did just enough to stave off the night chill.
She had her little adventure gear bag but it was still outfitted for the last trip, leaving her woefully unprepared. Bandages, a flashlight and her book. She couldn't recall even bringing a weapon to the last hunt, which turned out to be an alarming day. She heard her name loudly and brought her head up in a snap, tripping over a downed fence pole. Confusion registered when she heard chain link.
Digging inside her bag, she'd pull out the small flashlight and fumble with turning the end cap. The beam wasn't very wide, but it was something. She carefully dragged the light from one side to the other, noting the cracked and dried boards on the ground.
The air felt ominous, even, and the girl was shaking sleep out of her head. If that was the case, a weapon wouldn't matter anyway. She needed something else. Carefully she used her boot to slide away some of the smaller rubble, scanning the area for an entrance. She assumed this was what the woman was so excited about.
She recalled some short burst transmission, likely radio interference in the form of gossip but that couldn't have been how she gathered the information. Kaiya herself barely remembered if she'd heard the entire message or not.

Maybe the word haunted had been what gave her this expectation in the first place. During the day it was nothing but an unfortunate crash site for a botched landing. By night, it was the wind whistling into the night. It sounded like voices. She glanced over to her partner, wondering if she heard the same. Kaiya could tell that she was already restless as it was, seemingly ready to leap into the great unknown without a second thought.
She wasn't feeling quite prepared herself but the more she moved the more her body was warming, her mind becoming ready.
With no information about this place, she had no idea what to expect. The bandages would fix up any mild scrapes but she knew nothing about the local flora and fauna. If there were something bestial inside those mines, it could be problematic.
She would spend a few minutes for this reason alone clearing the area of debris. She would pull at poles, use them for leverage against the heavier rocks and try to clear everything to a side. It would give her a clear running path out into the open if she needed it. And they might need it.
Her last preparation before heading down was to arm herself. She dug through the loose rubble, ignoring the heavy metal poles and going for good sized rocks. She finally picked one, about the size of her fist, and clutched it tightly in her palm.

Cryo had hardly been better prepared, herself. Through the day, she had only the misfit coat and the torn pants, after all. Cryognosis may well have had full control over this decision, but on the other hand, she had nothing in terms of the wardrobe to make any addressing of the issue. As the light came down onto Cryo's feet, she kneels down and looks more closely at the links, studying it. It was structurally advanced, and roughly echoed the patterns of standard ferrous technology, but it wasn't the reputed level of advancement. It's something she could find from the pioneers' ship, if she was inclined, it would seem.
Coupling with heavy rust and quality decay, whatever happened, happened long ago. Glancing across the surrounding backdrop, Cryo theorized that it's possible that the building remnants' ability to stay standing was likely thanks to only the strength of architectural superiority, than an indicator of a young stretch of years since abandonment. A hand flicks out upwards, and Cryo closes her eyes, tilting it down somewhat. Ki patterns suggested...Total desolation of primary lifeforms and no biotech output. Ki-base activity implied recent but sparse activity. Visitors? They had a limited draw into the shaft.

Cryo lowered the hand and looked ahead. She'd be able to get a read on the mines if she came in. Energetically, the ainsou proceeds forward, climbing onto rubble almost effortlessly, and then half-sliding half-climbing downwards onto the other side. She steps ahead a short distance, and holds out the same hand, again studying the ki patterns. Increased activity, but no ki-base. There was some type of power active, somehow detached from the life that'd normally be associated. Maybe this was a dangerous journey, after all.
The princess checks behind herself, to see if Kaiya was catching up. After confirming whether she arrived, Cryo starts forward carefully, putting her ability to a more passive state. She could read the ki, but the details would be lost on her. Honestly, she was only able to broadly categorize such alien life without intense study anyway. Given time? Sure, she could reverse engineer the insinuated physiology, to say the least.
Criminal investigations were very powerful in her homeworld, and the ability to draw information from the nature of the spiritual energy did miles of progress to discerning things. Perhaps that's why crime was not too bad, amongst her people? Or was it something about their innate, undeniable unity?

No matter. The point was that she was getting deeper in. The mineshaft was hot and dry, even in the chilly night. It was by far no extent that'd bother her at all, but no less, Cryo noted the difference. It was then, after a turn in the twist of the layout, that Cryo suddenly felt something brush against her primary right hand. She realized that there was a potent force within it, but it didn't matter when suddenly her focus was shattered before she could analyze it!
Suddenly, Cryo found herself grabbed by the mouth, immediately silenced! Limbs were rapidly wrapped tightly along her torso and around the arms, restraining the unfortunate woman! She tries to move, to shout, but no it was no use! The ainsou's eyes opened widely as she was quickly dragged off shortly down a side-path.
Maybe she could do something, but Cryo was too startled to act, yet!

The woman was at least a few steps ahead of her. Kaiya's eyes remained half lidded, glazed over from sleep. Every step was the sort of careful measure one might take if they were completely tanked, and aware that at any moment a hallucination could trip them up. The climate had only partially awoken her and the hot air of the cave wasn't helping. She pulled the collar of her shirt, loosening it and fluttering to dry the sweat building on her skin.
She wants to tell the woman to wait for a moment but all that comes out is a tired sigh. The night is late and she feels like she had hardly slept at all.
The four armed woman seems quite agile, even as the mine becomes a tight and terrifying space. Four arms to navigate the walls must make the job so much simpler.
Keeping the beam aimed ahead, she tries to step only in the tracks left by her partner in crime. Although the foot shape is not quite the same, she uses the marks in the dust as a trail to track her by. She hasn't lost sight yet but she is easily feet ahead now. She regrets that she didn't stop to bring a lamp, because the small flashlight can only do so much now.
She puts one hand forward at all times, gently grasping at the empty air. It was in expectation for the heavy, sticky webbing she expected to walk into at any moment. Occasionally she hit what she thought were pockets of air, brushing against her skin from gaps in the rock. It was entirely coincidental that they felt finger shaped.
Her clothes were snagging where no rock stood and it was like so many eyes peering from every direction. It only pushed at her. Her pace quickened a little, dragging her boot heel in the dirt behind her just to hear the grinding crunch of it. What were they even doing here? This was dangerous. This was a mine that had been recently crashed into. They were wandering into a ball of energy, and she had a rock. What did her partner have?
Nothing, most likely. She hadn't seen her come in with a single weapon. In fact, she hadn't actually seen the woman in a few minutes.

Realizing she must have gone ahead in the darkness, her pace came to a light jog. The shift build around her, until it was heavy enough that she could feel it drawing energy from the air around her. Her eyes narrowed at the bold display and the realization that someone else she cared for was in danger. Someone else she had just met, and they would try to take this opportunity away from her?
Would she have to say goodbye?
Her frustration turned into anger. Against herself she began to channel the fluctuating ki. She had no idea how to properly wield it, for now she only wanted it to coat her fist like a glove. It would spread from there, up her arms until she came to the source of an odd sound. Scuffing against the dirt rock floor, she could see her targets. She charged, her ki coated body becoming an energy battering ram as she would headbutt the enemy with a cry of rage. She would hit the mist solidly.

Cryo managed to twist into loosening the grip some, giving a smirk of pride as she starts to move away, but suddenly the captor seems to practically shift around her movement, and before she knows it, the ainsou is stuck against the grip of the being once more! She felt something thick and broad against her teeth, like as if she had a gag put against her. She tries to pull away, but Cryo had no room! Cryo tried to look down, but it was no use, given the darkness. However, a light then starts to illuminate the side of the passage, and Cryo looks ahead, only to be jerked wildly to the side: She was tightly within the being's grip, without the strange letting up any, but at the she was relatively to the side, now, feeling part of her body just barely trace along the wall ahead of her. Suddenly a solid slam connects, as Cryo could hear.
Suddenly, the grip drastically loosened up. Time for payback! Cryo thrusts out her left arms' elbows against the being, but they thrust into the air. How could the being move so fast?! Cryo quickly twists to see the position of her enemy, but she didn't see anything! Only Kaiya and herself were in the room, as far as she could tell! However, it then strikes her. An idea does, that is.

Quickly flicking out her rear-right hand, Cryo focuses for a moment onto the area around them, and feels a powerful essence of instable ki. She quickly generates into her primary left hand a charge to play off of it, based on what she caught before the detection was disabled prior to the encounter, and quickly thrusts it out at the being. A burst of Ki explodes out towards the being, and invisibly washes over it as it physically seems to dissipate against the edge of the invisible form. Such an influence quickly produced results; however, as a massive tangle of hands manifested, floating in what crudely resembled a spherical form. Cryognosis barely lets out a gasp before suddenly a thick stream of arms thrusts out at her, growing to an unnatural elongated form. Even if Cryognosis was able to have enough time to dodge, the deer in headlights effect was so blatant, that anyone who caught even a moment of her facial expression would have a pretty good idea she’d still get caught.
Cryo’s mind restarts against the sudden intense pain of hitting the wall, with an audible crack. An intense pain shot out from Cryo’s left side, and she slumps down into a kneeling, grasping with both of her right arms in a hug at the spot of her left side. It hurt terribly! No matter: Her eyes shot ahead in the meanwhile, observing that the cavern was now well illuminated by the visible tangle, which glowed somewhere within the between-area of descriptions in a yellow or orange coloration. Being forced to manifest and be active allowed the girls to witness that the spirit seemed to ignite against the world around it, distinctively more red flames exploding throughout the surface of its form. Now! They needed to press the attack!

Cryo thrusts forward at a ram into it, and tackles it against the wall of the other side, against her right shoulders. She pressed herself against the being, hoping that Kaiya would play up the opportunity while the malicious being was pinned. However, the time felt like it was quite pressing, and Cryognosis decided that if she waited on her oppertunity, then the pressed advantage would be lost. She quickly thrusts her rear arm's palms against the entity, and focusing her ki into her hands, releases a blast to further weaken the entity. It wasn't quite enough, however, to do it on such a rapid spur, after having already been injured.
Although selfish, Cryo felt this situation was too dangerous to give any less than her all, and took the moment of disorientation from the spirit to regather her strength, mentally, spiritually, and physically. Even if the spirit got a recovery, itself, Cryo was in a better position, and opted into taking forth a finishing touch to the whole situation. Being significantly injured, the ghost's glow was weakened, and its flames tamed. It probably wasn't really going to recovery anyway, she decided, even if the ainsou took no regard of that thought as she took into her next action.
Cryo is shoved back when the monster thrusts its hands against her. However, she whips her primary-left hand forward, sending a blast of ki right at the entity. A beautiful, golden ring would explode out perpendicularly from Cryo’s position, knocking back anything that was in its path, including dirt and debris that kicked up dust clouds, while the same ring cut rifts of absent material into the ground and ceiling alike.

Even with Kaiya's help, Cryo was still injured, no less. She would continue to stand for a moment, proud for the teamwork, but suddenly slumps down into a kneeling position with a cry of pain. The spot that she hugged was bleeding, as a jagged segment of stone had impaled through her side, and probably, based on the sound of the crack, even snapped a bone from the rib cage in two.
