She'd been pretty reckless. It hadn't helped her wake up any. All she had gained from this was a mild headache, and a throbbing knee. Her friend was safe, despite her violent injury she seemed far more capable of defending herself. She was sure she would have done better if she hadn't rushed out unarmed in pajamas with the smallest flashlight possible that she could have grabbed. It was about the size of her pointer finger and the beam was too compact to be of any use. As her partner was limping her way out, she threw it in frustration. “Alright, wait up! You don't need to trip into more ectoplasmic terror, please!” She called out. Her words would be useless, but the urgency might get her to wait. Holding the wall, she made her up the slight incline. She was kicking rubble out of her way, sighing. She wondered if the undead left any trails behind. Once she hit the ground she had gone through the mist, only having a moment for blinding rage before her head hit rock. Nothing had been left on the ground, no slimy glowing trail or pile of ash. It was a little disappointing There was nothing to show for her exploits. What if she tried to share this story? She would have nothing to back it up. Coming out into the fresh air allowed her to breath again. Far from the closed in walls she could stretch her arms toward the sky. Black landscape slowly developed color and shape. So far just the same, interesting shape of rubble but it was something to remember. The ship lay within easy walking distance, but she wanted to make it to her friends side first. After that little shake up she wanted to keep her close. Her eyes wandered the distance, darting back and forth to try and catch any sign of her illusive brother. The later it became, the more concerned she was. She'd originally hoped she would find him here. A place this desolate seemed fitting for his new personality. He seemed so interested in the tech, and the chain link fence had clearly belonged to the factory in the distance. Science happened in factories, right? So why wasn't he here? She'd come up to the woman's side, not bothering to ask as she put an arm around her waist. The height difference didn't matter so much now. In fact, if she rested an arm on Kaiya's head, the girl would effectively become a walking cane. She could stabilize her while she got used to the pain and start conversation! WC: 437 |

Pain was soaking into Cryo's mind, exerting its presence through her body. She wanted more than anything to collapse, but by some string of strength she was being held up by the shoulders. It was simply amazing, but the ainsou could count it as nothing less than Kaiya's own presence. She smiles weakly to the pioneer. That made sense. The Facrin family was a family of natural leaders. If Cryo had crumpled, morale would crumple with it. The social standards were very different, but Cryo was standing aside intelligent life, and an ainsoid might as well have been an ainsou for that reason. She kneels down, wincing in pain, and collects as much of the spirit into her four arms as possible, pulling it back up. Although there was a resistance behind actually pulling the being up from the ground, since it was materialized to have a type of pseudo-mass, actually holding the ghost up was almost as though she was picking up an empty container, the way the body felt. That made sense. The spirit wasn't material in a traditional sense. A lot of physics were destined to interact improperly, so she shouldn't be surprised of how this spirit did not interact with the world, with things such as gravity to induce weight. In fact, she probably was holding the spirit up against air naturally being pulled down from around it, and that would be it. A sudden sting of pain from her body settling wrong reminded her of her status, and she clinches her teeth. It was time to move on. Cryo starts forward, pulling the spirit through the air with herself. Admittedly, she had used the spirit as a floating cane, leaning forward into it so that she would not have to stand on the leg underneath the bad side of her torso. This helped her keep up a force to push the spirit forward, anyway, with the arms acting as instruments to keeping the direction proper. She didn't think about it, but this probably would be more than plenty to prove their encounter, if Cryo could sustain the entity's presence. She may have been injured, but Cryo wanted to move on, and admittedly, she hoped to not have another encounter in this state. Really, it was because of injuries that she moved on as she did, giving Kaiya no room to learn of the trophy veiled in the darkness that the flashlight only minimally corrected. Coming outside was refreshing. The air was cool, the spontaneous breezes were refreshing, and the nocturnal lighting of the open area was worth much more than the absolute darkness of the mine. Cryo nearly stumbled when she shifted all her weight into the spirit. Even if it had essentially an inconsistent 4 feet diameter, it worked only so hard to hold the woman up, especially in its given state. The ainsou nearly yelped, but the collective of arms that her face buried into muffled her out. The princess manages to catch herself, and as she brought herself to stand, she looked over to see Kaiya looking out to something. Cryo stepped away, towards Kaiya, to try to fetch her to take a close look and realize the spirit's presence, sine he had so far had seemed to have no commentary concerning it: it was so unusual that it convinced Cryo that he was completely ignorant of the presence.. However, the boy was quite ready to bring her along. Cryo blinks a bit, taken aback, but manages to grasp a hand of the spirit and drag it along. Cryo walks forward with him, her hind-right hand resting on the opposite side's shoulder, while the hind-left hand kept its grip to the spirit so that it would follow narrowly behind the pair of adventurers. Cryo's eyes came forward, towards a building in the distance. Was this structure the place that life had come to? Perhaps there were people inside. Cryognosis was curious as well, not really sure of the purpose despite how obvious it normally would have been: The ainsou never had factories. They had farms. Farms for technology. +686 /1123 |

A swirl of chaotic energy; melded together by the machinations of only the heaven’s knew who or what; a controlled spiral of life after life, existence after existence; all designed to create one specific entity. One that had been manipulated and torn from sanity, time after time again; a one of a kind experiment leading to a one of a kind fluctuation of energy. Yet now it didn’t seem quite one of a kind, did it? No; and that was what had drawn Kaito to the location he now stood; atop a grassy knoll that overlooked what one could describe as a factory nestled carefully alongside the hills of some old ruins, of which Kaito had no care or interest for. No; what held his interest this day was the stone-colored entrance that marked the location of the factory he had been searching for. The underground structure was hidden from his view; but not his senses. Kaito could sense the energy within it; energy not only equal to his own, but of the same nature his was. Something that should be impossible, yet now lingered under the ground beneath his feet. That was one reason he had managed to locate this place. The reason as to why, however? That was a simple matter. While he suspected Tomoko would return at some point; a trait his family seemed to possess; he could use a copy of her vessel now; the unique body structure she held that could contain and siphon off the madness inducing energy that ran rampant through him. It would buy him precious time; time that could be used to get closer to his goals. Goals that were leaving his mind with every passing day as the psychosis grew stronger within him. Without warning, Kaito’s skull would snap back, body following suit with a single step back to brace himself; a wry grin crossing his lips as a small trickle of red ran from his left eye. ”Oh my, that was some feedback..” as the delayed reaction beneath his feet would erupt to life; It started with the ground beneath him beginning to split directly in front of him; jagged pieces jutting up as if an invisible pair of hands were ripping it up; being followed by a sudden tremor tearing around the placement of his feet as the ground began to cave inward; forming the shape of a large crater; as if impacted by something of high speed or mass slamming into the ground. ”No no no, your doors will not stop me; nor will your walls or your silly little bunkered rooms. No no no, it simply won’t do, you little ants! Hiding in the ground!? I CAN FEEL YOU! ALL OF YOU! Think to MIMIC ME?! Think to COPY ME!? LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT HELL THAT CAN BRING!” Back straightening, head tilting back forward; a step forward to regain foundation and balance; wry grin changing to something more cold. ”Hush now, my children. I can hear you crying out in your minds down there. Poor things; such madness, but without the benefit of experience to endure it. Don’t worry, darlings. Doctor Kaito is coming to make it all go away..” Right hand raising up slowly now; the distinct hue of purple gathering around his fingers. ”Knock knock. Daddy’s home.” The energy surging; arm cutting downward through the air as the energy sliced into earth and stone; cutting deep. Who needed to use a front door, anyway? ------------------------ WC: 581 |

The air felt electric. For the first time since being dragged out, her senses came awake. It crackled in her ears and brought her hair to a static cling against her cheeks. She tried to brush her bangs from her face, strands clinging to her fingers. Her half lidded eyes parted more to let the landscape fill her vision, but nothing significant stood out to her. Should it be familiar, or should it be alien? She felt too tired, too hot to take on a new adventure already but her slumping figure was turning automatically. Anticipation ruled her being now, pushing away apprehension and pain. Her arm slipped from the woman's waist and she nearly tripped as she started to jog forward. Her heart rate picked up. She'd know him from any distance, but her earlier reluctance was correct. Something about his stance felt off, wild and feral. He wasn't the same without Tomoko. Her family was damaged and broken and this was the ultimate proof. Like a living omen the ground shook, nearly taking her off her feet. The ground felt like it was tearing apart underneath her, and at first she thought that was exactly what happened. The rubble that came up, she thought, was from the crack beneath her. The crack that surely must be rending and ready to cast her into oblivion. She'd promised Tomoko, though. She promised she would be there for both of them, through the best and the worst. Kaito hadn't murdered or maimed the innocents. A glance back at her friend told her the pain was pressing enough. She couldn't leave her, but she had to get to him. Would it be right to drag her along? She hold her hand out to the woman. “Kaito.” She shouted above the din, pointing her other to where her brother stood. He'd opened the ground in front of him, and all she could think was what he was going to let out. Was he in search for something so truly desperate? She didn't know what this place was for, her understand his presence but it had to be in relation to her. Family was all they had in this world. Hoping the woman would understand, she left her now. Sprinting across the distance, she tried to call out to her brother. WC: 388/825 |

The ground beneath them seemed to feel the ripple of the local split into the ground itself, and Cryo falters back, alerted sharply towards the direction it seemed to originate from. She had not caught many of the movements, but it seemed as though he was content to stand at his distance, rather than to try to make any type of interaction towards her or the pioneer. Such a man was rather off-side to their goal, however, and Cryognosis was ready to let it go. Unfortunately, her friend did not seem to take the same stance. Cryo easily enough noticed the immediate abandonment of the journey to the proper entrance of the factory, as the stranger at the distance seemed to catch Kaiya’s attention instead. Cryo couldn’t help but wonder who it was to him, that made the sharp reaction that was presented? No less; Cryo didn't realize that the pioneer had suddenly stirred into the life of renewed vigor, until he suddenly shouted out towards the noticed stranger. Cryo was startled, and completely crumpled to between the spirit and the pioneer, whimpering painfully for the brief ringing in her right ear. Ainsou ears were certainly tough in a particular fashion, able to take a loud shout to them entirely well as though they were less sensitive altogether, as surprising as it may have been. However, for all it mattered, taking a sudden loud noise, especially being caught mentally off guard, meant a very easy sensory overload that left her stunned. In a daze, Cryo watched after Kaiya as he rushed off in the urgency of his brother. She lingered in her position, trying to make sense of the situation as her mind cleared up. What kind of urgency was it…? Kaito…? Was this the other pioneer, then? He was much different than Cryo imagined, even if it’s true that she had a good look at him yet. The disposition seemed entirely separate between the pair of brothers. Then again, that made sense in hindsight. Siblings were siblings. Cryo hardly felt like she was similar to her own siblings, after all. She almost dwelled on that thought more, but the ainsou jerked free her mind from the subject, and started to get up. The princess suddenly feels sharp pains that shoot up from her body, leaving her back onto her lowered position almost immediately as soon as she had started to rise. The injury certainly was not to be taken lightly, evidently, and Cryo felt foolish for overlooking her condition so easily. Her eyes darted towards the ship, contemplating. She could deposit the spirit there, and probably even take rest while Kaiya met with his brother. No. Wait. What if something was wrong? Yes, actually, she was certain. Something was definitely wrong. There was too much of a contradiction of their behaviors, and that worried Cryo. Kaiya’s feelings should have been returned more, if the impressions of Kaito was any type of indication to how he truly was. Being more careful of how she distributed her weight, Cryo brings herself to standing once again, ignoring how her body ached terribly. She suddenly starts to move around to behind the large ball of semi-ethereal arms, while pulling it forward in front of herself the rest of the way. If Kaiya could not help Cryo move, then this spirit certainly could. Cryo starts to push off against the ground, while leaning the rest of her body against the spirit rather lazily. She starts to kick off along the ground, guiding the crude sphere of limbs forward much akin to the way she did in the mines. Cryo was quick to catch up, and probably even overtake along the last stretch of distance, in her journey to come to near the brother. As this distance closed, Cryo warily peeks over the ball, off to the right, with her tilted head, and forward-leaned ears “Kaito?”, she asks with admittedly a purely curious tone, before relaxing her ears towards a neutral position. The ainsou pulls herself around to aside the spirit ball, watching him carefully for any aggressive or sudden moves. Was he dangerous? Was he friendly? Was he what Kaiya thought? Was he changed? It looked like even as much as the instantly ensuing moments would do much to answer Cryo’s questions… -WC- +718 /2810 |

The earth was cleared away with a final swing of his arm, revealing a portion of the man made structure beneath, bringing a smile to Kaito’s face. It was time to end this travesty of science; to dispose of all that lay beneath him.. Then that tingling as his senses picked up on a two new energies; one of which he knew quite well. Why now? What did she show up now? Why wasn’t she at the ship like she was supposed to be? With a sigh, Kaito would lift his gaze from the ground, bringing it to rest on the approaching figures, his voice softening; ”Ah, Kaiya. You’re supposed to be staying at the ship, aren’t you? Could get yourself hurt being out here.” Then his gaze was moved toward the one who seemed to be accompanying his sister; now this one was odd. Clearly not an Avalonian; nor any other species that he had encountered before that he could think of. ”And this one here; who are you? My, you would be an interesting little critter to study, wouldn’t you? So, are you a friend of my little sister here, or do you plan to eat her in some weird, cannibalistic ritual?” Turning his gaze back to the structure beneath his feet, Kaito would frown. With Kaiya here, this could make things more difficult than they needed to be; though now that he was thinking a bit more clearly, it might be best he not carry through with his original plan. Perhaps, in fact, it would be best for him to sanitize this place of all trace of him; one of him in the universe was a danger enough; an unlimited amount of him would offset everything he was currently trying to work toward, would it not? ”Bugger all..” ---- WC: 301/882 |

She came up to his side, determined not to waver in her affection and eagerness in seeing him. “Why would I want to stay in the ship? You've been gone for almost a full day. I had time to clean the windows AND mop up all the water in the kitchen since you've been out! You haven't even called me to where me where you'd be! You understand there is a war on, right?” She railed on him, venting her frustration at being closed inside that ship. Or at least he had expected her to. He didn't have to know how long she had been out, even if he noted her new friend. She balled her hands into fists, resting them on her hips with a frown etched on her face. His focus already seemed to waver, and she glanced back at the woman with understanding. Four arms, unusual appearance and ill fitted clothing would draw his attention, wouldn't it. Come to think of it, the edible aspect of her being had never crossed her mind. Her arms dropped to her side, her eyes wide in shock. Of course she knew better now, but she had this concern early on and had completely forgotten it. She'd gone into expectant hugs, helped her find clothing and was in a dark, cramped cave with her. She could have been devoured before her heart had a chance to stop. Kaiya just couldn't see it in her head. The woman looked to sweet, and behaved too simply. It was at least a partial cover, she was making attempts to understand words so she had some intelligence to her. After a pause she turned her attention to the hole in the ground. Rather than using an open window, the exposed smoke stack or simply kicking down the lock he had gone to the most extreme level. In her curiosity, she ignored the being that was lifted on the other woman's shoulder and her brothers stern words and started inside. The hole may be smoking but something interesting must be down here to create such a fuss for him. WC: 354/1,179 |

Cryo responds Kaito's curiosities with the most predictable of responses: a blank stare, and then an announced 'word of the day' because he seemed to be asking a question! In this case, Cryo announces: "Bed-sleep", because that completely made any sense. Knowing better on the inside only served to emphasize how appropriate it was for her to say what she did. After that point, the ainsou approaches the edge of the rift, looking down into it curiously with upward-perked ears, while Kaiya produced a traditional chewing out towards Kaito. Cryo realized, as Kaiya gave a traditional chewing out of the brother, that the two had not gotten along nearly as well as she had imagined. The boy...wait. Sister? Did Kaito say sister? How could that be?! Kaiya was a boy! Wait, was she a transsexual...? She never knew! Cryo felt this heavy awkwardness of how she treated Kaiya up to now. Even if it was inward this whole time, it was definitely inappropriate! Wait...What if...? She glanced upwards to the two, for just a brief moment. Were they not fully adults? That...was certainly possible. But why were two young children out pioneering in a way such as this?! That made no sense at all! How could she correct this growing awkwardness?! Should she acknowledge the mistake? Should she just interact with them 'learning' what they were in terms of gender, or what? ...What if Kaito was also a woman? No, that didn't make sense. She was certain he was remarked as a brother, to some end. That was the impression of him that she was taught, even if she could not recall the exact details on the given moment, in the midst of it. Cryo contemplated the whole matter...and then glances down at herself. Well, perhaps...The women matured differently? No, it seemed like that her traits were acknowledged as they were. That could not be it. The best option was to just let it go, and follow Kaiya into the rift, keeping her discovery a secret. Even injured, Cryognosis traveled down along the side of the separation in the ground, nimbly. She leaps down onto a floor at the bottom of the divide...Then collapses with a screechy yelp. Perhaps she should have healed, or better yet, brought her crutch with her. This was an embarrassing day indeed. -WC- +387 /3852 |

She turned her head up at the few pebbles cascading down the stairs. Genuine surprise registered when she saw it was not her brother. She expected him to follow after his obvious interest. She wanted to find out exactly what this place was, and why it had grabbed his attention. Was this why he had been gone all day? He might have been searching for this place. It might not be mapped out and she couldn't imagine “creepy lab” being openly advertised as a tourist destination. And creepy lab was indeed the vibe it gave off. Once inside the abandoned feeling vanished, because the floors were swept and mopped. Not a cobweb in sight or a spec of dust that hadn't come from the recent explosion. The power was still on. She could see doors with lock codes, dark glass barring the view inside. She hadn't bothered to look for an entrance sign but she had the feeling that this was more chemical work, not advanced robotics. Her next stop brought her into a collision. Another body stopped her way forward, but someone around the same size. When her gaze came up, she was staring into her own eyes. This was the second time. She found herself taking a step back, but too short with a small hand already coming to her throat, fingers wrapping with strength she wasn't even sure she had. This version of her wasn't a reflection of darkness, it was blank. She couldn't plead or reason with that robotic stare. Instead she gasped, her throat burning in pain as air came out in a turbulent rush. She kicked her right leg out, planting it between the other girls leg, behind the knee. If this was her the same rules should apply. That shameful clumsiness and lack of strength even in this drone. She kicked, hard, until her heel planted right into the back of her knee and brought the clone down on top of her. Regretfully, the hold remained. Maybe drone was the wrong word then. This girl had drive, maybe even ambition. The problem was, it was a drive to kill. WC:356/1,538 |

As Cryognosis came to her feet, her eyes swept across the area. This seemed to be a lab...and hardly abandoned. It looked like her hypothesis was correct that there was a recent interest, and considering the lack of retaliating security methods to the initial entry destruction, this place must have been abandoned, also exactly like the nature of the hypothesis. The fact that the labs were still running was not something that caught Cryo off guard, however. It was wasteful, but it didn't particularly stick out to the woman. Rather, she follows Kaiya, glancing about in the meanwhile. It was then that a sudden movement caught her eye. Cryo immediately turns to face something at the wall, bringing back an arm to thrust out a strike, whether it meant a blast of ki or a solid punch! Her body's posture immediately fixed into a stable, ready to strike stance, in the movement of the rotation; in order to compliment the movement of the upper body’s readiness to attack. However, what she saw caught her off guard. ...A strange collective of cylinder-shaped protrusions was withdrawing into the wall, a latch closing around it as it made the last of distance. What could this be? (To any readers wondering, it resembles multiple camera lenses in a bundle, and is functionally much the same. Not like Cryo will ever identify this to be the nature of it.) The ainsou lingers, unsure of how to handle the matter, for a few moments, before she suddenly realized that she had stopped watching over her friend! Cryo immediately turns to face Kaiya, only to see a copy of her dropping down to atop the girl. What was this about?! The woman hesitated for a moment, confused. Was one of them a fake? Why was one of her trying to kill the other? There was very little time to think, and Cryo had to pick a 'favorite'! However, even beyond the aggression that Kaiya normally lacked, Cryo realized something else, which was obvious. All the dust and dirtiness of their previous trip had only applied to one of the girls. Armed with the knowledge, Cryo lunges out in a pounce at the fake, her horns lowered to put the false one in her line of attack. If it hit, Cryognosis would use her heavier body to gore the fake's neck through her horns: Cryognosis had a superior strength across multiple factors, after all: A larger body of a mature individual, the inertia of her movement, the hard material of the horn, the weight of surprising density of the body, and even the bulkier body to start with. Cryo landed her hind arms' hands into the floor, avoiding a stomp down of her hands or feet from focusing on Kaiya, and she slid a slight distance, hoping to take a shot through the jugular of her opponent. Even if Cryo could claim victory, it was short lived, however. Almost instantly, another ainsou had taken after her, and would attempt the same motion to Cryo. A duplicate Cryognosis leapt out at her much the same way, aiming to take her side through the horns with much of the same factors capitalizing on the vulnerable, injured left side. Unless if Kaiya had a way to stop this, the horns would bite into Cryo's body, sinking in all the way to the point where the clone’s skull made contact against her target’s side. The force of the whole thing would send both of the brown-hairs off of Kaiya altogether! When this duplicate, uninjured herself, settled into the strike, she immediately flicks her head upwards, pushing off with all six of her extended limbs, to literally flip Cryo off of herself in a decisively brutal tear away. -WC- +625 /4,390 ((OOC note not included in the RP text: I say 'brown' instead of 'blue' because Cryo's appearance has not ICly retconned yet, so they still have brown hair, as based off the older image)) |

She saw herself destroyed. Her own blood ran warm across her face, her vision going red as she was tinted by a trickle. It was enough to momentarily break her mind, hiccuping while she saw her body go limp. The legs dragged heavy against the ground and was worming into her mind. This was the sound of her dying, again. Twice now, the angry raging darkness and this blank slate. She wasn't sure how it even happened. She pushed her self up on her knees as a struggle took place over her, waiting until both bodies were loosened before she was climbing to her feet. For a moment she was stunned, watching the copy. Four arms became eight and legs were entwined in desperation. She had only one advantage compared to her own double. She'd seen which one was the second. She saw where it came from and what position it took in the battle. The horns were lowered ready for the same fatal strike and the girl was leaping forward to stop it. Grasping a handful of feathers from the darker, she would yank with all her might. Whether the feathers came loose or not, she was hoping for the shock of pain to slow her and turn her violent aggressions towards herself. Her arm came up, roughly trying to wrap it around the evil woman's neck, launching herself off the ground. Legs came temporarily around the waist, locking tightly. She felt the unfamiliar body tilt forward, heading to the ground. Her vision still blurred, she kept herself that way until they connected. Her knees exploded in pain, slackened. She rolled head forward off of the creature, towards the real Cryo, the woman whose name she didn't know but regarded as a hero. She tried to rise, but it was still painful. Needing the walls, she leaned into them as she slid up. She wasn't sure if the opposite was permanently down but she lightly tugged at her as she limped towards the door. WC: 335/1,870 |

A sudden anguish overtook the copy, which shrieked out in protest and faltered. A lot of the power behind the attack was subdued after the initial strike, and because of that, Cryo was saved: Although the horns still went in, they did not go in nearly as deeply, and most of the power came to simply knocking off Cryo from over Kaiya, rather than mortally wounding her. While Kaiya tried to grapple with the fake ainsou, the real Facrin got her bearings, pulling off from the duplicate, and accessing the situation...A fake of herself as well...?! She was caught at a loss, but seeing the danger, Cryo acted as soon as Kaiya had fallen away from it. The more injured ainsou suddenly thrusts forward against the duplicate, aiming to drive her pair of horns into the prim-left arm of the healthier-stated woman. Meanwhile, Cryo's own prim-left immediately went to against the side of the face. She had a pretty good technique that was just perfect for subduing ki-based species such as herself! A sudden surge of power exploded off the other woman's head, and she immediately drops in a lifeless fashion, barely getting to screech out. Cryo drew out from the other one, studying over the body as much as she could, briefly. She was heavily enough in resemblance to come off as a twin sister, truly. Her species were on the brink of death....could she stand to finish her off? With a frustrated growl, Cryo collects the clone into her hands, and mercifully starts out to follow barely behind Kaiya. The princess's own body protests to the insistence, but she forced herself to press on. This place was too dangerous. Hopefully, Kaito could do something to finish this matter, with his already impressive power having an opportunity to take up a display once more... -WC- +305 /5,030 |

Kaito had refrained from following after his sister and her companion; his senses focused on tracking them as he instead remained in place, letting his mind debate the possibilities of what this discovery could do for him and to the universe. In the end, however, he had settled on one truth; it was far too dangerous to allow the possibility of a second one of him that might one day learn even a portion of what he knew about the special energies that made up his being. Now with his mind set and his goal obvious to him; Kaito was pleased to see the two, though it now appeared to be three if you counted the unconscious one, evacuating the area. That was good; perfect even; for what he now planned. ”I’ve not yet reached the point I should attempt this; but I see no other chance coming to let me get a little practice in with it. Isn’t that right, little ants?!” His body would phase out briefly; reforming instantaneously a few yards away; then again, and again, until he was in the air; a hundred or more yards from where the factory was located. A moment of hesitation; and then a grin would slowly cross his lips; one hand lifting slowly to the sky as the air above the factory began to shimmer, giving the telltale sign of a rift opening. ”That is what we scientists do, isn’t it LITTLE ONES!? WE PUSH THE BOUNDRIES! Will this work? Can I do it? Can we? Will we? OF COURSE WE WILL! WHO CARES ABOUT THE DOWNSIDES! PUSH AND PUSH AND PUSH UNTIL NOTHING IS LEFT UNKNOWN! THAT’S THE END GOAL, ISN’T IT!?” And with that challenge, condensed fire would erupt from the rift in every direction; heat spreading yards around as the grass began to brown and wilt within an instant. The sky above the factory now looked like a glowing red ball; snakes of flame twisting through the air. ”SO HERE WE ARE! Behold..!” as he threw both arms out to his sides, his head tilting back slowly as he started to laugh, his flickering with the power coursing through him. ”Behold, little rats scurrying about your hole. Feel what Icarus felt when he flew too close to the sun! YOU THOUGHT TO MIMIC AND CONTROL ME?! BURN IN YOUR ARROGANCE!” With his final word, the tendrils would stab down at his whim; burying into the ground that began to melt; turning molten before the ground’s color could even change to that of the fiery red. Steel and stone melting and mixing together as the plasma like fire ravaged the ground; the melting lab beneath the ground causing everything to begin flowing inward; as if a whirlpool had opened just below the surface. Flowing, flooding downward; building as the ground heaved and shook; the newly created magma sending bursts of steam through the air as it shifted; and though there was so much more that could be accomplished right now, Kaito would accept the limits of his current abilities; closing the rift; cutting the plasma from existence as the ground below simmered. Slowly dropping through the air, Kaito would force his now weary body to head back toward the ship. It was time to learn more of what his sister had been up to. --- WC: 556/1,438 |
