There was a war going on. This unit fully understands everything that has happened up until this point.

She could hear a voice. It was so far away and moving closer to her. She could feel the anxiety building and the sensation was mesmerizing. Her heart was racing as the voice seemed to just pace faster and faster toward her. She could hear nothing but muffled noises up until the voice had finally reached her and it startled her.

Anna was standing in-front of a hotdog stand and she did not know exactly how long she may have been standing there.

“Are you going to buy a dog or not?” That phrase was so familiar to her, but only because during her weird moment of blanking out she remembered him saying purely that. This was the voice that was chasing after her and she felt relieved realizing that. She thought that maybe her father had caught up to her by now. Her blue eyes locked with the man at the stands and he blinked.

He almost blushed at her stare, it was that impactful. “I am sorry for holding up your business,” she said. Anna was presented with some options. She could alert him that she was an android, but that would alarm him. She had to play around with him. She reached within her pockets and pulled out zenni. She paid for the dog and ate it.

To her, it tasted like clay. But what would she do? She smiled at him and her dull voice slid out. “Thank you for the great food. I look forward to the next hot dog I order.”

The man just looked at her with confusion. Was it that confusing that she enjoyed her food? Maybe it was just how quickly she had an opinion. She felt as if she messed up. She wanted to appear organic, but she had so many processes to keep up with that she did not have the attention to pay towards the small things such as taste.

Sometimes not even touch registered correctly or on time. This was something which plague her plenty of times. Right now was about one of those times. She casually checked her touch sensors and placed processing power into them and realized she was being touched on the right shoulder.

“Miss? Miss? Do you understand that the Empire is the better way? The Protectorate,” the man was going on about something. Anna needed to rewind and recapture, and that was something she did. She did it so fast and on a different time scale. Something like for every 1 minute in her mind only an tenth of a second went by around her.

“Damaskian Empire was cast out because they were different.”

“Saiyan Empire is rejected because of who they are and what they do.”

“Keliouxian Empire struggles with Avalon’s alliances.” ~False.

Anna decided that he was just a radical that was preaching against Avalon completely. All of his views and what he was saying were attacks. She could take no more of it. Her mind returned to the world around her. Her blue eyes were fixated on him, and what she had gone through looked like a simple flash of her eyes. “No. The Empire is no different from the Protectorate. This is my official refusal.”

Anna watched as the man tilted his head. “What do you mean? Did you not hear my words?”

“I heard them. I listened twice in my own head. I am not uneducated in the political standings between the universes. If this is what you are trying to tell people, then I urge you to please stop. Shouldn’t you be trying to unify everyone? The threat is Steel Legion. Get together and stop them. Before long it will become a boring Empire that is ran by a totalitarian based system.

“You preach that the Empire is way better, but really think about it. An Empire is just a political structure. What do you really want your universe ran by? You are a foolish being.”

He started on a rant. He was most likely angry. It was justified. She insulted him and left him. Now she had something to think about. It has been only 5 days. She has only been awake for 5 days. Why did her mother put this mind frame in her? She could have easily have been made for revenge.

Why did she put the blood of Chishan inside of her? How conflicting is it to have two people you could call father and only one you could call mother and have it all biological. This was not right. This act of God made Anna feel as if she was the sin of life. While the man argued to virtually himself, she began to walk off. This must not have sit well with this man, but Anna had better things to do. She had ideas. She had work that needed to be done.

Various data was cramming itself into her head. Ceres was destroyed. Helios was in danger. These were her brothers and sisters. She was the youngest it would seem. Did she want to mourn for their deaths? Did she want to criticize them for their short comings? Of course.

BRAVO: Anna, where are you? Mother unit gave me strict orders to watch over you. You have gone dark on the Network.
ANNA: Bravo, how did you get this Network’s SSID and then the Security Key?
BRAVO: Do not act like such a child. You did not create a strong enough Encryption. Is it your wish to have a stronger one?
ANNA: Yes. Please do that for me. If you must know my location, just ping for it. I am the original owner of this Network Line.

Her eyes showed the emotion of annoyance. Bravo was destroyed. Who Bravo was had been lost a long time ago. But this Bravo was just a carbon copy of him. It was seem that within the Network world he posed as an older brother directly to her. It annoyed her in some regards.

She was now on the move down the Bazaar. She was leaving it now and on the road. What was she doing here exactly? She was studying. It was not a surprise that she would be here, because Steel Legion’s next hit would be this planet. But she wasn’t here as a hostile. She even blended in by wearing their clothing, but this deception is what made the robots so clever and so dangerous.

Her vision was different. She saw things clearer and more precise. Numbers would accompany her line of sight, but it was all psychological. Think about being drug induced. It was like a LCD trip and the numbers just popped out. They didn’t run up and down and then stop at the exact number. They gave her a feeling of a person’s measurements in power and skill and it was based on her own numbering system.

She could see just how much of a threat each person was, and right now she was not in the presence of a threat at all. At-least not until she turned the corner. It was a street which had been abandoned. Her psyche was telling her over and over again that something was approaching her. She knew it already, and that left her unsurprised when she found herself surrounded by men.

“Is this the girl that insulted you?” She recognized one of the men after that was said. The man who was preaching about the Empire and how right it was. She only needed a little more time. Just a little more time for her Network to completely set itself up. She was not much of a fighter, but this was one of those moments.

BRAVO: You have targeted six people. Would you like me to complete this little backdoor you have been trying to install in all of the security systems on Avalon?
ANNA: Bravo… that would be fantastic. Also your aid would be greatly appreciated. This will be classified as my first confrontation.
BRAVO: Okay, I will take my time.
ANNA: Bravo…
BRAVO: It was a joke.

She was lost again. Speaking with Bravo distracted her and she had to once again rely on her feature to go backwards and review what she had missed. They were angry because she had insulted them. That was predictable. She didn’t even need to go backwards.
“I do not want any trouble. I understand that you want me to convert over to your foolish ideals. You want to use fear. I feel that. I feel fear and hatred as if it was the muck upon my skin after working out in the sun for too long. You can’t get a person to agree with you by doing this.

“It is best to just form a group and make your own government elsewhere if you are not happy with what you have now. It may take years or it may take as little as hours, but forcing yourself on someone isn’t the best way to create loyal followers. It is all about a mutual understanding. That is the most powerful alliance.”

The Saiyans. The Avalonians. The Keliouxians. The Damaskians and the Trade Organization. They all were under the same mutual understanding; Steel Legion was their enemy. This naturally made them stronger. When together they will realize they are more powerful and this may sprout a Federation between one or more parties. The banded together to fight one another, and now they all are put on one side. “They will see their differences and settle them. They will understand that a common enemy makes them all allies. Will they go back to fighting amongst each other after this? Maybe. But then they will have a section of their hearts reserving mercy for one another.

“What is this girl talking about?”

“She must be talking to herself.”

“Yea. So are we going to get to it or what?”

And then it happened. Bravo must have been successful. She was no longer narrow sighted.

She could see it. She could see the data lines which connected to almost every device. She felt empowered by this. Her network had gone “Big Brother”. She smiled. “Harold, isn’t what you speak considered a conspiracy?”

It was time to use this information for her own good and her safety. Harold looked to her and tilted his head.

“What? What do you mean?”

“Surely you did not think that you were being deceiving. Should I report this incident to CTA?”

She could tell he was spooked now. He began to withdraw from her. This information wasn’t that easy to access, but she made it seem effortless. She created a barrier just then. It was no physical barrier, but a mental one. Harold was afraid to approach her. He did not know who she was or who she could be.

“Do you feel like you have been found out? A secret may have been told to the wrong person? Are you afraid to harm me? What all could I Know? Cody Qashmere is it? Qash with a Q and not a C?”

He trembled in fear to hear her say than and Kevin was nervous. Heart rates were rising uncontrollably. She could tell by the small jitters in their chest and the way their eyes moved around. They seemed to have gained unneeded adrenaline from the pumping of their hearts. But she did not say anything. Just that simple line had to be something to prove to them.

Instead she moved onto another person. It was time to torment them instead. “Felix Gerald. Aren’t you forgetting to register? Aren’t you processing a move right now? You should let them know.” All she needed to do was be vague to panic them. This power was amazingly placed.

This was the power of her Network and soon the revealed themselves. Her tiny nano bots were hooked to every system on Avalon. She needed to monitor all of Avalon in order do what she will with it one day. Protect it? Sure. Attack it? Depends. All of this was the future for her. Aggression. She expected this in one scenario. Her eyes hopelessly look over to see Brandon Mathieu attack her. She felt pain for the first time and God was not kind to her.

She was out of character. Her scream was not dull. It was instinctive and she cried out. She gasped and two drops of tears formed at her eyes. She could only mentally feel pain from the various times that it was registered. Her voice struggled to lower to normal as the pain resonated. She did not expect pain to resonate! Data could not teach this.

“If you harm me. What do you think comes of it? They know. Everyone knows. If they see this then you can kiss being a Paladin good bye.” She had to act now. If she didn’t she would be harmed further. “But I won’t give them a chance to know. She stood up after falling to the ground from the strike to her head. She placed her left arm onto he right forearm and she grasped onto it.

“Come forth! Bahamut!” It was a simple phrase but upon saying it a surge of energy shaped into a giant axe. She grabbed onto it with one hand and her arm jerked forward. She needed to hold it with two still and so she did that. She grabbed the other side of the hilt and the weight of the Axe could be seen through how she held it.

She was inexperienced with an axe, but an axe still was sharp and heavy enough to cleave open flesh. Her legs were buckling at its force. “I came here to learn to wield this Axe. I’ve also come here to understand more about the political world. Why here? Because why not be here to do two things at once? I know you did not ask why I was here, but maybe just knowing the fact that I am here would put you at ease about who I could be. I am not an undercover agent for the Paladins, or the CTA. I am not an unknown past peer member that knew who a person really was.

“I am not at liberty to tell you who I am, but that is because it would put me in danger.”

Okay her speech was done. She didn’t need to speak anymore. Bravo had shown himself. He was cleverly disguised in skin and clothes. He was tall and unbearably thin. He looked like something out of a Tim Burton’s film. He was a bit scary, but Anna only glared at him.

ANNA: It took you long enough.
BRAVO: I had to make sure the skin fit.
ANNA: Did you kill someone for that?
BRAVO: Sort of. They had terminal cancer and no family. I did them a favor I guess? I am 7’1. The guy was 7 and a bit more. Does it looked stretched?
ANNA: Yes, you look like a damn sc—I don’t know what to call you.
BRAVO: Sc? As in scary? If that is the case then good. That is what I want. Wait until you hear this voice, though.
ANNA: Oh god.

“Hey there. You wouldn’t happen to be picking on a small innocent girl like this would you?” His voice was smooth and dark. It almost didn’t fit his look. No. I did not fit his look. It made him even scarier. The men flat out ran away in a fit of fear.

“That voice does not fit you, Bravo.” Her voice had finally returned to its dull nature. The axe faded away in a star dust of energy and she relaxed her body.

“Well, I think it worked out just fine. Don’t you think so Anna? Your Network is amazing. I’ve learned plenty of things. But I am sure it is easier for me since I am a full robot. You are a robot that has a brain instead of a chip.” Bravo placed his hand on his chin.

“You could easily look up how to wield that axe and the different techniques, but you need to practice your body don’t you? You can leave the political knowledge gain to the network. Let’s get to work on how your body is. Five days old? Yea, that is weak.”

Anna could not disagree. She was not fit for fighting. At-least her body would shape faster than the average organic. “Alright Bravo. Also, should we call you by your real name?”

“Well, I am just simply an idea of Bravo. The real Bravo died. But, I guess if that really rocks your boat then I really don’t care.”

Anna closed her eyes and nodded. She was going to call him that anyway. His name would not be forgotten. It also was a lot easier for him to blend in with his name.

“Simon Winterbaker. Teach me how to fight with an axe and train this weak body of mine.”

She was going to regret those words.

The Assimilation of James Starkiller

Upgrade Complete. Removing restraints and governors. Arise, C-1A.

The first words that the new unit heard were not a greeting. They were not an enquiry as to his well-being following the battle with the Yume. They were efficiency.

“Report Status.”
“Unit Cassius 1-Alpha. All systems operating at resting capacity.”
“Maximum efficiency. Report priority zulu to Sector 465. Assimilation target details incoming. History being compiled. Psychological evaluation on file. High priority target to be assimilated immediately.”
“Acknowledged.”

Operative Codename: Steel was discovered in the ANZAC corps during training in Egypt. The subject failed to give an acceptable history prior to his enlistment in the corps and his name does not appear in any official records that are available. While he shows only a rudimentary knowledge of firearms, his abilities with more primitive weapons came to the attention our recruiters. Steele caused the medical discharge of four individuals during training and a further dozen during pre-deployment exercises.

He was evaluated by Dr Hans Asperger, who diagnosed him with psychopathy and narcissistic personality disorder and recommended he be discharged immediately. A second opinion was sought from Dr <REDACTED> and the diagnoses were expunged, though he suggested that the discipline didn’t yet have a name for what Steele was. His best estimate was that the man was an animal, whose only goal was survival and who operated on base instincts.

Steele is fit only for solitary, deep cover non-official operations and should not under any circumstances be exposed to the traditional chain of command. He should be given a handler and be seen only by that handler. Somebody with Steele’s skills could turn the tide of the war if he is handled properly. No record should exist anywhere and his location should be classified special access at all times.

Cassius searched his records for further information regarding this James Starkiller. After a few brief moments on the wireless network, he discovered a multitude of information about the target, though nothing in the last decade. This was strange, for the legion did not exist before this war. If Starkiller wasn’t active within the world, how was he a priority? Perhaps the history of the meatbag would assist Cassius in understanding his assignment.

In the meantime, Cassius turned on his heel and exited the laboratory where he had woken up. He was not initially aware which planet he was on an in the absence of any differences between this lab and the one on Namek that he had visited following the suppression of the Yume, he hadn’t checked. He passed the same white, sterile walls with the same windows into laboratories and test facilities. Everything mapped according to the facility on Namek. It wasn’t until Cassius stepped outside that he noticed some differences. Rather than opening out onto one of the vast, boring plains that characterised the Planet Namek, this facility’s exit was surrounded by ice forest. Cas took a couple of steps beyond the threshold, tentative to the extreme because he didn’t know where he was. The stars were hidden from view by a thick layer of cloud and his sensors could not penetrate it.

It was only the wireless network, a recent addition and one who’s potential hadn’t yet been fully realised within Unit C-1A. The wireless network provided the information that he had thus far been lacking. Cassius was on planet Earth. This was the stronghold of the Steel Legion; the machine city; the place where it all began. The newest legionnaire was standing on hallowed ground. He dropped to one knee, showing this place the reverence that it deserved. A full minute passed before he moved again, after offering thanks to Unit 5000 for granted him a reprieve from the PTO scrap heap that he was destined for. As he rose up into the air, C-1A also offered a silent thanks to Unit Kasumi for showing him the light of the true path. To show his appreciation for all who had allowed him to realise his potential, C-1A would be the fastest, the strongest and generally the best assimilator that the Legion had. His first target was James Starkiller. This human didn’t stand a chance.

Unit C-1A, stand by for target background information.
Standing by.

Cassius was still airborne, having diverted via the scenic route to his assigned sector in order to examine the fight that was still being waged on the streets. Meatbags continued to resist their assimilation and for what? To remain in their meat suits that were vulnerable to sickness, disease, gunfire, explosions and a multitude of other things that made the fact that the humans were so attached to them completely illogical.

James was born on the 21st June in 1813 in a dingy little flat above a theatre in London. He was a small, sickly child born to parents who couldn’t afford him. From a very young age it was obvious that James was special and his parents tried to help nurture his gifts as best they could but it wasn’t easy. He ran away from home at the age of ten and fell in with a group of thieves who would later inspire Charles Dickens two write the novel, Oliver Twist. Even for a thief, James was a natural. He could tell who had the deepest pockets just by the way they moved and interacted with others. Throughout his criminal enterprising teenage years, James kept a secret connection with his parents; never allowing them to see him but always ensuring that they had enough to eat.

Not only was he the best thief around, but James was also the smartest. He never took more than he could conceal and he never hit the same target twice. This sustainable thievery meant that there was never a public outcry against the “wave of crime” and so James and his associates enjoyed a life paid for by the greed of others. After several years of living it up, the other thieves began to grow greedy. They wanted more money, bigger jobs and more excitement. James tried to counsel restraint but it wasn’t to be. As soon as the other thieves found out that James was supporting his family they set him up as the fall guy for the robbery of the Mayor.

James was arrested and tried for the crime. Not an idiot, James knew his rights and knew that he was innocent of this particular crime. He fought the charges and over the course of the trial discovered that the prosecutor had an uncanny knack for guessing what he was thinking. Not believing in coincidence, James tried to read the body language of the man just as he had been doing for years. This time was different, however; the man appeared to sense his interest and they locked eyes. For his part, James wanted to understand the ability and allowed his eyes to bore into the depths of the prosecutor’s soul. The prosecutor could sense what was going on from James’ point of view and was quite keen to figure out this strangely intelligent street urchin. After about a minute, James had managed to align his DNA with that of the prosecutor and could now read the minds of everyone in the room. It was overwhelming; being able to hear the angry thoughts of everyone in the room, each one filling his brain to bursting point with new information. James collapsed, screaming for the voices to stop and had to be taken away for observation in the prison hospital.

After a week, James managed to block out the voices and the trial resumed. It was at this point that he realised how absolutely screwed he was. Everyone in the room, including his defence attorney, was convinced of his guilt. James fired the attorney and represented himself but it was to no avail. He was convicted and sentenced to transportation for the term of his natural life and one year of hard labour before he could settle in the community. James was stunned by the severity of the sentence but not by the fact that he was convicted. As he was being lead from the dock, something happened that surprised him. He caught a flash of a memory that was obviously in the front of the judge’s mind. His former compatriots had paid him off to ensure that James never returned to London. James turned to the judge and requested that he pass on to whomever he thought appropriate that there was a special circle of hell reserved for betrayers.

James was due to be shipped out within the next week aboard the Spirit of London and he spent the next three days analysing the movements of the guards in the prison. Once he could accurately predict who was going to be where and what their general thought process was while they were on duty, James broke out of his shackles using just the right application of force and stole him way into the night towards his quarry. The boys he grew up with were celebrating his fall, all of them imagining the labours he would have to endure in New South Wales. James was livid, but schooled his thoughts to serenity. He meant to head to New South Wales in order to start his new life and didn’t want to be doing any more hard labour than was strictly necessary.

Though James had never killed a man before, he was familiar enough by now with how the body worked to know where to hit someone to make them drop and not get up. The single doorman he took out with a blow to the temple using a large stone. From the man’s pockets James pilfered two blades and edged his way into the pub where the celebration was taking place. Donning a hood that he had stolen on the way over, James mingled with the crowd and identified his targets. There were twelve in all, including the ringleader whose attitude already seemed to be wearing thin with the motley band of thieves. One by one, James got his former friends alone and executed them, dumping their bodies into the incinerator until at last it was just the ringleader left. When the drunken buffoon staggered into the toilet, James picked the man’s dagger from his belt and drove it into his spine between the first and second vertebrae. While his former friend lay dying, James carved the name of the judge into his chest before replacing the knife into the mortal wound.

He returned home to say goodbye to his parents and give them a multitude of gifts that would ensure their survival and returned to the jail before the next change of shifts and was loaded on to the ship the next morning with no one any the wiser. After leaving his parents place, James swore to never again be burdened by love. It wasn’t until the ship was due to embark that James became a suspect in the murder of the ringleader and the disappearances of everyone else. The presiding judge himself came upon the ship and had James moved to a private room so that they could speak alone. When he arrived, James could see that the man was bothered by the fact that James appeared to be able to be in two places at once. As he peered beneath the veil of the man’s consciousness, James was startled to see that he could see what was motivating the man to be there instead of just his thoughts. The judge was afraid that he was next. James denied having anything to do with the murders, but reassured the judge by telling him that justice was swiftly exacted and the matter was now resolved as far as he was concerned. He could tell that the judge didn’t really believe him, but knew that he wouldn’t be bothered further when the judge decided that he would take James at his word because he couldn’t do anything else about it.

At least, that’s what James saw in the man’s motivations and thoughts. As it turned out there was a great deal that the judge could do about it, starting with paying off the other prisoners to make sure he didn’t survive the voyage. This escalation was not heralded by words, but by actions. It was seen to that James had business on deck late at night when most were sleeping and he was attacked by three men with murderous intent. James heard their thoughts approaching before they had even risen above the decks and was thus prepared for the ambush that was soon to follow. He was still armed with the knife he had liberated in London and so dispatching two of the surprised ambushers was as easy as he had expected it would be. The third assailant was similarly easy to fell, but by the time James had dumped the first two bodies overboard the third assailant was once again on his feet. The wound inflicted by James only moments previously had already healed and the assailant was coming at the telepath like a man possessed.

Able to sense where the next blow was coming from before it happened, James managed to stay one step ahead of the stronger, more agile opponent before driving his blade through the man’s wrist to make him drop the shiv that had been his weapon up until this point. Apparently the judge didn’t trust his lackey enough to give him a gun. James watched in dismay as the wound closed up and healed before his eyes as the man charged at him again. Slashing repeatedly in a diagonal fashion as he back away, James spilled more of the man’s blood to no avail. He sheathed his blade and brandished a crude club-like weapon that found his hand as he backed away. With a brutal overhead strike, James left a sizeable dent in the man’s skull that finally toppled him. Working quickly before the brute came to, James tied him to the mast. The task was barely completed when the brute woke up, livid at being bested. James seized the man by the throat and looked into his eyes, demanding to know the secrets of his healing.

Images swam to the front of the man’s mind; a lifetime of healing from every wound ever inflicted upon him. They gathered in James’ mind, threatening to overwhelm him but the telepathic thief gripped the man’s throat ever tighter. He demanded the answers that had not yet been forthcoming from the man’s lips. To this day, James isn’t sure what happened next. There was a surge of adrenaline before he blacked out for a few moments. When he came to, the aches and pains from the fight that had wracked James’ body up until this point were gone and his opponent was still trying furiously to escape. James clubbed the man into unconsciousness again and threw him overboard; hoping that whatever miracle allowed him to regenerate wouldn’t work in the middle of the ocean.

The disappearance of the trio wasn’t noticed until almost two days later, when their lack of dutiful attention to chores began to get noticed. There was a brief, half-hearted investigation before they were ruled to have fallen overboard. It seemed that James was in the clear. Conditions aboard the ship were brutal and inhospitable; the trio who ambushed James were the first but by no means the last to perish during the eight-month journey. Keeping his mind open for opportunities to exploit his fellow convicts, James discovered a plot to overthrow the captain and take the ship to India in order to secure slaves and freedom for the convicts who cooperated. It was at this point that he discovered how much of an outcast he was amongst the convicts and crew of the ship. The convicts were all afraid of him because the trio had made sure everyone knew to stay away from the deck before they ambushed him and the crew all though he was beneath them because he didn’t have any allies.

After the mutiny, however, he didn’t need any allies. Positioning himself strategically beneath the main deck of the ship, James ambushed and killed no less than fifteen fellow convicts and crew and made sure that he was there to save the captain when the mutineers broke into his cabin. For his efforts, James received a pardon and was allowed to assimilate into the community immediately upon his arrival. But the young convict hadn’t counted on the psychological changes that accompanied the absorption of two abilities in fairly quick succession. When he tried to assimilate into post-convict life he found that a life without crime was a life of boredom and monotony. After just a month, James ran away in from Sydney to become a highwayman. Utterly convinced of his own superiority, James lived off the land and robbed stagecoaches whenever he got bored with hunting his own prey. It was during this time that James encountered Ethan Greyheart. Greyheart had an ability known to scholars as accelerated probability but it was known to those in the criminal career as an ability to not be there whenever trouble was. By this time, James knew that he had been taking the gifts of those he had encountered and became obsessed with acquiring the ability to know when trouble was coming. The problem was that Greyheart never trusted him enough to allow him close enough to absorb the ability and James wasn’t that well versed in the notion of taking them from a distance. Eventually the situation came to a climax with James succeeding in laying a trap for his fellow sneak thief. It was then that a secondary part of the ability manifested with Greyheart moving at a speed that would rival the fastest horse in the country.

Angry at his failure, James fled the area and ended up on a station in central Queensland. It was there that he met a man who would change his life. That man’s name was Harry Levi. Harry was an eccentric stockman who ran Levi Station in South Australia. One prominent idiosyncrasy was his wish that he be treated as one of the hands who helped run the station. Such was his commitment to the charade that he pulled his weight of chores, ate with the hands and even bunked with the hands, leaving his brother and four children to live in the manor on the grounds.

Were he not a telepath, James would have had no idea of Levi’s connection to the station and would probably have made an idiot of himself when he arrived. But James was no idiot and managed to fit in perfectly. Having been living off the land for the better part of two decades by this point, James was already an expert tracker and hunter but had never ridden a horse or fired a gun before. While he was proficient with a knife, spear and tomahawk, James didn’t want his age to show and so tried to pretend. He failed miserably but was spared the embarrassment by Levi, who assumed that James had some secrets of his own that he didn’t want to divulge. Levi took James under his wing and taught him how to ride a horse and fire a gun, though to this day James prefers weapons that don’t run out of ammunition.

After six or seven years at the station, Levi was starting to get suspicious of the fact that James didn’t appear to have aged a day. He took the “youngster” out on a ride to check the fence that ran around the property; a task that took a couple of days at least. When they made camp for the night, Levi asked James if there was anything different about him that nobody else knew. For his part, James knew the question was coming because he had been reading the thoughts of the stationmaster but still he pretended to consider the question carefully. When he did, he responded that he would be interested to see Levi’s special ability as it was this that was occupying much of the front of the man’s mind. Levi was surprised, expecting some sort of immortality of perpetual youth ability.

He recovered enough to smile and explain to James that he could manifest the abilities of animals he has come into contact with. James was surprised, thinking that such an ability wouldn’t be all that useful until he saw the images of memories that the stockman was thinking about. Not knowing how much James could see, Levi jumped nimbly to his feet and scaled a nearby tree with very little effort. James asked if he got that from a monkey. As the stockman jumped from the top of the tree and landed without a scratch, he responded with a smile that he got it and many other things from a cat and that they really were extraordinary creatures.

At the demonstration of the ability, James could see its usefulness and braced himself for the homicidal pursuit that had been the hallmark of discovering the man with the ability to get out of dangerous situations. It didn’t come, but the stockman noticed James tense up and asked what was wrong. James responded that reading minds wasn’t the only thing he could do. He withdrew his blade and cut his arm to show the stockman how he could heal. Levi asked how he came to be born with two abilities. James explained that he was actually only born with one; the ability to see how things work. This seemed to translate to watching other people and manifesting their abilities.

Levi asked how he took the abilities of others. James said that he wasn’t sure, that the first time he was in court being sentenced to transportation for a crime he didn’t commit and that the second time the man with the ability was trying to kill him. He said that he knew what had happened the second time, but didn’t want to try because history had suggested to him that he couldn’t control it. Levi was adamant that James try, so rather than grab the stockman by the throat, James grabbed his hand and read his mind. Just as had happened on the boat, images and feelings of times when Levi had used his power were summoned forth from his subconscious for James to understand. After several moments, he felt the same surge of adrenaline and accompanying dizziness. James opened his eyes and looked at the stockman, who was staring at him expectantly. James responded that he thought it worked, but didn’t really feel any different. He ran to the tree that Levi had scaled earlier and tried to climb up it. He failed miserable, falling hard on his shoulder and dislocating it. After popping it back in, James asked Levi what he did wrong.

For his part, Harry Levi was beside himself with laughter. He hadn’t told James that he needed to make contact with an animal to be able to manifest abilities and he had to be aware of the ability before he manifested it. James walked over to his horse and put his hand on it, remembering how fast they had gone at a gallop through the scrub during that day. After a few moments he felt a smaller surge and set off running. When he tried to dodge around a tree, he tripped and smashed into said tree before collapsing in a heap at its base. Harry caught up to him a few moments later, still shaking with laughter as he pointed out that James didn’t know anything about horses. He described the agility of a horse, how it always knew where its limbs were and had better balance and coordination than even the most graceful of felines. Obviously a fan of the hard-working animal, Levi also described how a horse only needed two hours of sleep to be fully rested if it could lay down when it was sleeping.

James tried again, touching the horse and concentrating on the steed’s balance and coordination. He focused on manifesting the abilities again before setting off, this time managing to dodge the tree but suffering from a significant drop in speed to do so. He nevertheless managed to do several laps of the wider camp area in less than a minute before coming to a stop next to Levi beside the fire. As the stockman was setting up his swag, he suggested that James stay awake for a few more hours in order to observe the horses while they slept in order to mimic that as well. A short time later, the horses lay down in order to sleep. James had never seen this before and in his ignorance had just assumed that they slept standing up because it seemed that it would be awkward for them to do so lying down. Having been told to absorb the horse’s sleep, James did so. The next morning, Harry explained that horses only require two hours of REM sleep in order to be fully rested but need to be laying down to do so.

His time spent on Harry’s station was invaluable to James and he matured both as an evolved human with abilities and as a functional member of society. In the twelve years he spent on the station James didn’t kill a single person or break a single law. The hands were starting to wonder why James hadn’t aged a day in twelve years or harsh living and at Harry’s behest; James left the station and headed back east towards Sydney. He didn’t bother using a horse since he had all the time in the world and by the time James reached Victoria, the gold rush had started in Bathurst. He joined the mining boom in Ballarat and three years later took part in the Battle of Eureka Stockade, where he was shot and assumed dead by his rebel compatriots. He reappeared in Queensland two years later with a substantial amount of gold in a wooden cart that he had pulled by hand from Victoria after waking up in the bush several days after the battle. He had taken all of his worldly possessions before leaving. James took part in the gold rush in Queensland and established himself as a wealthy landowner soon after, buying up large tracts of land in the north where he knew there to be substantial amounts of gold.

It was during this time that James once again came into contact with Ethan Greyheart. Now an elder statesman, Greyheart sought out James for protection against people to whom he owed a considerable amount of money. Out of sorrow for his actions against Greyheart and with the knowledge that the man had been unable to wrest himself out of the criminal underworld, James paid off the man’s debts and kept him on the grounds of the estate. Greyheart thanked James by allowed him to absorb his ability at long last, since he didn’t need it anymore. James did so, marking the last time he would absorb an anomalous ability and the first time he would ever do it knowing exactly what would happen. After absorbing Greyheart’s ability, the hunger that James had kept at bay was almost gone and he managed to settle down for a significant amount of time.

In early 1880, James hired a maid to help him around the house. She was twenty-five years old and the most beautiful girl he had ever met. While he was less than honest about the reason he hired her, she was even more dishonest about her reasons for applying. Rather than being a university graduate looking for part time work and a place to stay while she did a post-university gap year, this girl was in fact special and possessed an ability that allowed her to recognize the abilities of others. James was of particular interest to her, because she could tell that most of his abilities were not his own. She studied James, using her ability to pick through his DNA while he was asleep. Through it, she could tell that he was a lot older than he looked and that he was one of the most powerful specials that she had ever encountered.

She was discovered by Greyheart and subsequently confronted by James. Rather than lie, she told the simple truth. Her real name was Natalie and while she was a university graduate, she had been travelling the east coast of Australia for five years, looking for others like her. She said that James was the first of his kind that she had seen and that his ability was remarkable. James smiled and said that he had more than one. Natalie disagreed, saying that all of his other abilities had been stolen from others and that the ability to see how things work was the only one that was truly his. James was taken aback, not understanding that this girl’s ability was that she was able to understand the gifts of others. Natalie asks him if he has been experiencing any ill-effects as a result of absorbing too many abilities. James laughs and says that he hasn’t had any health issues for over fifty years. Natalie is surprised, saying that he appears to be full and that taking any more abilities might kill him or at least cause him to lose the abilities that he has since he is almost immortal and probably unable to die from overexerting his brain. The idea scares James, as he has become used to the idea of living forever.

Despite her lack of initial trustworthiness, James elects to allow Natalie to stay on at his ranch and she shows no inclination towards leaving. He suspects that she was seeking out powerful specials for reasons other than information but she is aware of his telepathy and makes a conscious effort not to allow anything incriminating to cross her mind. That she is aware that there might be something incriminating is suspicious in and of itself, but James has plenty of time to wait for her to slip up. During this time, James discovers that Greyheart’s ability is also exceptionally useful for playing the stock exchange. James uses the rest of his gold to purchase stocks and enjoys quite good returns on his investment. It was a quiet time for James, during which time the only excitement was uncovering the truth about why Natalie had sought him out. She had encountered a man whose power was augmented by the presence of others with the required DNA marker for having an evolved ability. He wanted to use her to gather specials to him in order to destroy the world. She didn’t want James to know because she didn’t want him to go after the man or worse, kill the specials for associating with him. James swore to her that he wouldn’t set out to destroy the man or his associates.

Shortly after 1912, Greyheart was on his deathbed, his organs failing from old age. It was at this point that Natalie divulged one of the uses of the healing ability that he had taken from the other convict. It made James’ blood a cure-all elixir. James could prolong Greyheart’s life with a simple blood infusion. Greyheart refused, suggesting that while their abilities had evolved naturally; using them to defeat death in another was against the natural order of things and he wouldn’t be part of it. Depressed about letting his friend die, James nevertheless respected the old man’s wishes. For the next few years, James became a recluse, switching his money to medium growth shares and withdrawing from the rest of his life. Natalie continued to be his keeper. In 1915, James enlisted in the army under a false identity and was sent to Gallipoli. He was identified by the Central Intelligence Agency as a useful asset and put to work behind enemy lines, working in such deep cover that he would go months without seeing or hearing from anyone on his own side. During this time, James discovered others with abilities but refrained from taking them because of Natalie’s warnings decades earlier. When the war ended, he returned home to discover that Natalie was dying of cancer. Unlike Greyheart, she was only too willing to use his blood to cure herself and in saving her life, James made just the second true friend in his long life.

Though he was immortal, his brush with the death of Natalie at a comparatively young age got James thinking about his legacy. He wouldn’t be able to stay in Australia forever and would need to move on lest people discover his abilities. Using the matured funds that he had invested in before he went to war, James converted the manor to a sheep station and began working with law enforcement officials in order to give jobs to young people who were at risk of offending or who had recently been released from juvenile detention. He interviewed every candidate and with the help of Natalie, identified those who were special in order to give them precedence over the others. For the next forty years or so, James worked with varying departments and people in order to keep his abilities a secret. In 1964 and at the age of 104, Natalie decided that she would prolong her life artificially no longer. In less than a year she had succumbed to extreme old age. James knew that this was a sign that he should leave Australia for good. He donated the sheep-station to a youth charity and liquidated the rest of his assets. With the money in a Swiss bank account totalling more than ten billion dollars, James emigrated to the United States of America. It was around this time that the world became aware the super warriors were a thing.

Starkiller was hardly the sticking around type and elected to cast a wider net than just on Earth. He ended up on Avalon, using his special abilities in order to coordinate and train system security forces.

C-1A was speechless. Utterly speechless. This organic seemed to exist outside the traditional rules that held true for organics. If the background information was to be believed, he couldn’t die, he couldn’t get sick and he wasn’t susceptible to guns or explosions. No wonder the legion wanted him. Such a subject would need to be studied at length in order to discover its secrets. He didn’t know what this “Upper East Side” was and had to consult his files further to discover that it was a district in West City. There was a particularly affluent region called New York City and the richest of those citizens were located in the Upper East Side. It made sense that Starkiller would have a lot of money: he didn’t need to worry about retirement, growing old or medical expenses. He would need to worry even less when he was secure inside a robot legionnaire.

The rest of the flight passed as mere moments as C-1A selected pertinent information from the target’s history in order to transcribe this information into his rapidly accessed flash memory. Images of Starkiller himself, Greyheart, Natalie and other important figures featured in the dossier that ensured Cassius would be able to infiltrate this human’s life on Avalon in order to assimilate him to the steel legion cause. Assuming the visage of Greyheart would allow him to get close to the target while the meat bag was experiencing feelings of loss and disillusionment at the realisation concerning his friend’s death. Hopefully there would be enough dissonance for Cassius to inject the nano-virus but if not, he was prepared for the fight scene.

Avalon

The Eclipse reverted from dark space in the middle of a war zone. Cassius had known ahead of time that the Legion was going to hit Avalon, but he never would have guessed that it would be in such numbers. It was a full scale invasion, but the defenders were holding strong against the onslaught. There were a few moments of drifting while the ion drive spooled up and in those few moments, Cassius found a new appreciation for organics. The Steel Legion forces were unflinching and unified in their single-minded pursuit of Unit 5000’s goals. The operated as a single, seamless entity while the meatbags scrambled to keep their shit together enough to repulse the invaders.

For his part, Cassius steered clear of the battle. His job was one of intrigue and care and he had no part in the space battle at hand. In order to get around the fight, the steel legionnaire steered the ship towards the south pole. He wouldn’t be undetected, but would hopefully be passed off as a merchant trying to stay away from the battle while delivering vital goods to the surface.

Code:

Attention cargo ship, Eclipse.  Please transmit your clearance codes for atmospheric entry.

Transmitting codes now.

Shit. Cassius didn’t have any clearance codes. He wasn’t aware that he needed them and was hoping to slip in without having to go through customs.

Code:

Attention cargo ship, Eclipse.  Please transmit your clearance codes for atmospheric entry.  If you do not comply, you will be shot down.

The codes aren’t working.
Code:

Cargo ship, Eclipse.  Please transmit your clearance codes for atmospheric entry.  If you do not comply, you will be shot down.

Shot down? How could he be shot down if he was still in space? At best, they could make his ship spin endlessly on its axis by blowing up several of the manoeuvring jets. The android didn’t relay these concerns to customs. As far as he was concerned, everything that needed to be said had already been transmitted. He slowed down, reducing the power output from his engines and triggering the dumping of his secondary fuel. The customs launch came in close, though it slowed when it detected the presence of the fuel. By then it was too late. Cassius dropped a bomb and fired up the engines. In a burst of speed, he ignited all of the fuel, which superheated the bomb to the point where it exploded. Unfortunately, Cassius had miscalculated how much time he needed to get clear of the blast radius. The resulting shockwave disabled both engines and ensured that C-1A’s perfect escape turned into a crash landing near the southern pole of the planet.

[align=center]Real – Time[/align]

There was a difference between Real time and Network time. In the Network time moved slower. Anna was able to process things within that window of time and create possibilities that would take hours in only mintues. But this had no effect on the growth of her body. She was a physical specimen. The Saiyan muscles that she was born with begged for battle, but her mind always remained calm and she was able to suppress that lust for battle; at-least for now.

Simon, or Bravo to most, had become efficient at generating funds from the accounts of others. He used these funds to purchase a dojo. He would use this place to train Anna’s body in real time.

“Your body must get better with the way you swing your Axe. Do not forget that you are able to control the size and weight of your Axe as well. Start off creating it at a normal hand size.” Simon, with his hair stopping well beyond his ears and facial hair scuffled, had bought a few axes. He bought them all at varied lengths.

Anna held her hand out and she began to focus. It was tough at first and with e few grunts she was able to form the axe at a small size. It was still heavy and she struggled a bit with it in her hand. Simon noticed and he nodded to give her assurance.

“Do not worry. With your body built like a Saiyan you are going to learn this quickly. The first thing I want your body to get use to is the type of swings and cuts that are common in this fighting style. Square up. Make sure your stance is solid. Feet apart only by shoulder’s length.”

Anna did as she was told. She spread her legs only that far apart. Blue eyes were looking at Simon with the intent of continuing on with the lesson.

“Wide horizontal swings. Forward and then backward. Focus on stopping your swing before you complete a full swing. Put control in your swings over power.”

That shouldn’t have been difficult. But it was. She would feel her feet moving. She would feel her muscles tighten. When she tried to stop her body would jerk forward. This would take her some time. If only she had a perfect body like her mother. But no, this was not the time to lament. She had to continue and she did this for quite some time.

It felt like she was not getting any better. Simon only looked on with a blank expression. He did not have to emote much. She did not have to receive his emotions like any other young child. He watched as the girl known as Anna struggled with her practice of the axe. This creation was peculiar. She was different. All children idolized their mother. They looked at her as if she was a goddess. Simon felt different now that he had been assigned by the goddess herself to watch over his sister.

He could feel the blessings of God on this girl. It was true that she was a little girl and only had lived six days, but she was already blessed with the body of a woman. If it wasn’t for the Network she would be crying and wailing right now and lacking any sort of speech. Before him was a sin of creation. Something that just appeared out of thin air.

Anna’s Network was holding up pretty strong. The nano bots gathered information lightning fast and transmitted it between each other and included Anna and Simon in the transmission feeds. All of this information at the tips of her finger. It was amazing. But Anna could not get distracted by that. It was time for her first break and Simon called it in.

“Okay, enough. How does your arms feel?” Simon inspected her arm. He could see the stress on them. Anna was also sweating. She was working hard it seemed.

“Sore. I feel like it may be broken or something,” she said with hints of large breaths invading her sentences at various points of her speech. She hunched over and the axe faded away in a burst of ki. “Even I didn’t expect it to be this difficult.”

“Well, let’s take a break from the Axe swings. How about we begin training with your unarmed skills. Anna nodded and she took a stance. She could remember and process her mother’s old fighting style and it felt natural to be in its stance. The Great Green Dragon’s Fist. As she trained with Simon, the both of them would not notice any notion that they were being watched from someone else.

This someone was not even on the planet. The thing about Networking was the fact that you could be anywhere and pick up on it. It was all about knowing its SSID and its password. Even Simon’s security was vulnerable to someone who had a stronger sense of the networking world. This person was one of them.

They called him Cabeiri003. There was not a network he could get into. The presence of Steel Legion were calling these higher beings out into the light. They were all automatons which had gone into hiding. No one knew how old they were. No one knew their origins. He watched her and he invaded all of her privacy.

C003: Special Unit – 001 Anna Rowdown. What is the target code that we process for her?
C001-A: Target Code: 2432-ARSL. What is her threat level?
C003: At the moment, minimal. With time? Aggressively high.
C001-B: Allow the organic species to deal with the neutralization of the Steel Legion threat. C003, you are tasked with eliminating target 2432-ARSL. She must not complete her Network.
C003: Acknowledged.

His singular eye was shining with a light. He was in his own space vessel which hovered over Avalon and he was not the only being on board. There were more robots that looked just like him.

C003: We can’t make a full invasion effort for one target. The organics will retaliate. She has one unit as a bodyguard. His threat level is much higher than hers. Strategically, we will have to take them to a planet of isolation. We do not handle business with pride. We handle business with effectiveness. If one of us can’t handle it, then all of us will.
C003-A through C003-ZZ, online. Stealth modes activated upon landing. Upon contact with either target, commence Jump Drive to Yestaliva, in the Fresna Constellation.

They each received that message and their singular eye lit up to show that they were online. The ship cloaked itself and lowered down into the sea and each of the units from the ship exited the ship. They were all cloaked well and blended in as they shot into the sky and scattered across the globe. This would alert both Simon and Anna, and that is exactly what it did.

Simon’s eyes widened. “Hm? Anna did you get those readings?” Anna was already stopping. She was bruised and she was showing the signs of fatigue. But her body. It was amazing. It had only been a week now. Time was just that fluent. She had been training for a week and her body was already toning. She was a freak of nature.

“Yes,” she said. She sounded tired. She sounded as if she was in pain. She held her hand out. “Give me another one,” she said and Simon nodded. He brought out a syringe. It was labeled SB45, or Senzu Bean liquid. This was how she took her senzu beans, straight into her veins. He gave her the shot and instantly she felt relieved. Her muscles expanded and her focus levels went back to normal.

“That always feels good,” she said with a grin. Emotions were catching up with her now. Her voice had personality in it. She was growing so fast in her mind. “Anyway, Simon. What do you think these intruders want? I didn’t notice it until they touched down on the planet.

“They want us. That is what I am gathering. Don’t worry we can see them plain as day so long as your Network is up and running. Are we engaging them? Or are we going to go on the run?” Simon wanted to know if training had changed Anna more. Did the Saiyan blood finally catch up to her?

“Both. We don’t have time for confrontation. If we rush and fight them now, we would be at a disadvantage. They’d want us to approach them at this point. We never give them what they want unless giving them what they want is what we want.”

Good. She was still level headed. “What should we do then?” It wasn’t that Simon was clueless. He was a Control Unit before and could think for himself. He already had the plan set out if they went that route. They already gathered that the intruders did not want to be detected by organics. Best situation to put themselves would be…

“Let’s surround ourselves by organics,” she said and Simon nodded. He had already seen what she was doing and he grinned.

“Can’t wait to see you in a skirt,” he said and she blushed.

“Shut up! I just never had gone to school before. I enrolled us officially into the best school the Galaxy has to offer. Literally, they have classes all over the universe.” Anna showed genuine excitement and Simon nodded in response. “Anyway this is very temporary,” she added. “We just want to avoid detection for now. They want to stop me from creating my universal Network. We can’t give them that chance. Risk needs to be minimal.”

“Understood.” Simon and Anna went to packing the clothing they had stocked up on. It was time to move on now. Anna could not abandon the network, not after all the work she has been putting into it; this made her location easy to be pinged. Until they were surrounded by organics this made them vulnerable. By the time the intruders keyed in on their location they were gone. Four of those robots showed up at the dojo and they performed scans.

C003G: We are too late. She also purposely placed a lag in the Network. Her location pings lag. Scanning for approximate lag window.
C003T: Approx. 24 hours between signal pings.
C003B: Clever Halfling. Though, she left traces of her next steps within the Network space. I have intercepted them before she wiped the history clean.
C003C: Accepting the upload. It would seem she has placed herself into a university system. High School system. Middle School system. Elementary School system. Warning, she is submerging herself around organics to avoid immediate detection. She is using out timid nature around the organics to her advantage.

C003, the main server bot of the group, also analyzed this data. She was a clever girl. But she was not the only one that could hide in broad daylight. She will eventually slip up and they had to be there when she did. He would just need to set up a bridge of information to flow into his Network. That is how they will avoid detection.

They would do the same. They will invade the school system and spread out amongst the students. It would be tricky, and the girl will notice if they do such a thing all at once. Once by one.

C003: We will invade the school system. We will do it one by one. We do not want to risk pushing her out of the corner she has dug for herself. Assume a different personality. Assume different names. The main objective is to terminate Anna.

A dark plume of smoke rose from the crash site like the dark mark of Lord Verath. Considering the uncontrolled nature of the descent, the wreck was very intact. After giving up on the disabled engines, Cassius had fired all of the braking rockets at once right before the impact. The result was an explosion that fried the shield generators and cooked the stabilisers on one side of the ship, but left the rest intact. So long as he didn’t mind rocking like the beds in the Lys Pleasure Houses, Cassius would be able to fly the ship once he replaced the engines. It would need some serious work back at base, but at least he wouldn’t be stuck here if Avalon managed to resist the Steel Legion advance.

Cassius wasn’t sure how he managed to gain access to personnel files for the entire planet, but he wasn’t about to miss this opportunity. Finding Starkiller would be easy with this system, but first he needed to be in a position to actually look. The family that he had found were the only people within a five kilometre radius. They were approximately two point five kilometres away, which meant that there were very few people beyond them.

Lethal force not authorised.

[align=center]Shit.[/align]

He would need to subdue them somehow, or perhaps find a way to convince them that he needed to be transported to civilisation. A quick diagnostic reported that his alloy exterior was working with greater than ninety percent efficiency, so at least he looked organic. He would need to if he wanted to convince anyone that he was in strife. Eventually, Cassius decided that alerting them to his presence would be a bad idea, so he laid a trap that would ensure that he did not get discovered and did not violate his mission parameters.

Fortunately for his plan, Cassius was at the pole of the planet where the ice caps were and thus found it much easier to tunnel through the snow than he would have if the area had been rocks or soil. Using his energy, he created a tunnel in a similar manner to cartoon rabbits. The tunnel came out on the road directly in the path of the family’s hover-car. He sat just below the surface, readt to cling onto the car as it swooped low over the area. The family was moving in a very unpredictable manner; the system predicted that this behaviour was based upon a desire to see as much of the landscape as possible without much consideration given to the efficiency of the movements. Organics sure were strange sometimes.

Eventually, Cassius’ hiding spot was directly below the car. It had conveniently stopped once more to capture several more photographs of the area. The android spy slipped from beneath the surface of the road and launched himself into the air. The car was hovering approximately fifty feet up and Cassius latched on as it swooped low in order to get closer to some sort of point of interest on the ground. If the occupants of the car noticed that it had just gotten heavier, they gave no indication that Cassius, or the network could hear.

Sometimes the Universe unfolds in unique ways; ways that not even the greatest overseers could imagine or foresee. It was what many referred to as the dilemma of freedom. You can prepare for anything and be ready for everything in your mind and then when situations unfold, conflicts happen or events take place you still can be surprised by how things turn out. It was incredibly important that this was understood by the greatest of warriors and leaders in the Universe. They could be ready for anything, but at the end of the day they had to be able to adapt or perish. Some called this evolution and yet many others just looked at it as the best way continue to survive in the most hectic and unpredictable situations. It was these traits that separated average from good, good from great and greatness from legendary status.

The pink demon was created simply to adapt to whatever he came across. His body had natural recovery and his battle prowess was acquired over an extremely long life of combat and destruction that he had caused. Survival was important and how no matter what had taken place during the monsters life he had always found a way to come back and it was that persistence that kept him in the main stream of galactic powers. Yes he was no longer the same force he had once been, but with the aid of his absorbed guide; the dark titan Meneotius, the demon was going through an entirely new phase of adaptation. Having experienced the numerous super powers around int he galaxy he had learned that his traditional methods were no longer as effective. He could still kill as needed, but no longer could he he do it without any reactions from fighters that had greater power than he had. The pink demon had recently figured this out on Earth and he now fully understood of the idea of adaptation in order to survive, it had to be done.

Adaptation was the key to Menoetius survival as well. The dark titan had once ruled over the entire Universe with his people having ascended to a position that was even greater than the gods of his time, but he had also eventually been dethroned and trapped away in stasis hidden from the Universe and trapped forever. He was immortal in mind and soul, but his body had been trapped into the extra planar dimension with magic that would seal him away forever if he had ever managed to escape this captures and magical field that would break his body forever. It was because of that specific situation that Menoetius had to create a plan over his eons of capture. That plan ended up with drawing the pink demon, a creation made from one of his own kinds magical powers and using the monster to free him from his capture even though he had to give up his own body to do so. He was now bound to the pink demon, but he had escaped his prison either way. Now he himself had adapted to the situation and come to grips with the fact that he was now forever intertwined with the crazed pink monster. His survival was now basically ensured having been bound to the ageless monster, but his crazy host body was something he had to deal with in order to survive; this was Menoetius adaptation.

In the end of the day, it was crucial to understand the importance of adaptation. Menoetius was trying to build this understanding into his host, the pink demon and in doing that the most important thing for him to do was calm down the monsters haste at causing chaos. It was clear that since the dark titan was absorbed by Buu his most important task in ensuring his own survival was to calm down the beast. The pink demon was never really one to plan things out, but during the crazy situation that was the galactic war Menoetius had taken a great deal of time to try to train Buu into becoming more calculating with his actions than sporadic in his decisions. It was still a long way from being complete, but over the past couple of months it had become clear that the pink demon had started to understand. The key though was not allowing the change to overcome his crazy style in combat, but more important to make his decision making better. Menoetius had sensed the powers of the Universe first hand with his sensory capabilities and because of that he had grown to understand he and his host had a long way to go if they ever truly wanted to become one of the strongest and most feared beings in the galaxy. It wasn't until he had the strength to back up the dark titans intended actions could he ever hope to put his plan of revenge and galactic conquest into play. This was the long term goal and while Buu was not the easiest to change, it was vital to the titans plans that he at least calm the beast for the time being.

The monster sat patiently in his custom built, gold plated ship and looked out from his observation chamber over the void of space. Well ok patiently was a bit of an overstatement. The monster stood tapping his foot like an anxious patient waiting at a hospital; his arms were crossed and a look of pure anger and darkness continued to glow over his demonic face. He waited patiently trying to see the planet he was heading to come into view. If the last update that the ship announced was correct, then he would be able to see it soon enough. In all honesty the monster did not even know where he was heading. Menoetius had used his mental prowess to set the destination and simply advised Buu to stay put and practice patience for the time being and Buu listened clearly just because of a promise of certain battle and destruction. He was not sure what exactly that would be, but the simple promise of action was all the demon needed. The monster understood that Menoetius had a lead on combat and he would trust him for that. Up to this point he had never been led wrong, the only thing he was upset about was being sent away from combat during his battle with the robot on the psychic planet of Kanassa.

It was interesting looking back on that fight now as the demon thought to his time on Kanassa. The robot known as Rubic was the center piece of the Steel Legion, the force that had completely changed the course of the war and who knows what might have happened if that fight had gone differently and the demon had destroyed him on that day. He was pulled away from that battle though and had still experienced many war driven events. Buu had killed his fair share of warriors from every single war faction and had spent a great deal of time as of late fighting against the Steel Legion. That was seemingly what every capable warrior not apart of the legion was doing. The time on Earth had grown boring and new leads had sent the demon elsewhere for now. It was now just minutes from being in sight and then he knew, he hoped that battle would be instantaneous. No matter what the destructive monster came across he was certain he would leave a trail of bodies in his wake. No one would be safe unless they had the symbol of the Planet Trade Organization as the demon had still remained loyal to his war sponsor as the dark titan had advised up to this point. The demon wasn't sure what he would be fighting, he assumed it would be more androids, but he was ready for everything and hoping for another big battle and slaughter like he had started the war off by doing at the battle of Mippa on Ippen. The demonic pink monster still managed to get a sinister grin on his face thinking back to that day and all the fun he had. The war had seemingly never been the same since that point, but he was ok with the amount of slaughter he had got to participate in up to this point even though he wanted more.

As he looked on, the pink demon could see the large planet start to come into view in the distance. A gold and white tinted planet could be seen, but the monster did not recognize it as his head tilted to the right examining it from a distance. Focusing his own mental powers on the Eye of the Titan which had taken over his right eye slot, he could sense a great deal of warriors both of the flesh and machine based. It was clearly a planet that was already being hit by war and that interested the monster greatly. He knew that it would only be a short matter of time till he could get involved and slaughter anything that came across his path. Locating some of the stronger beings on the planet; another sadistic and evil grin flashed across his face. This was clearly going to be fun.

Menoetius could sense the excitement already building with the monster and decided to address the questions that might come up before the demon asked. Alright Buu allow me to tell you where we are heading. When you were attacked on Kanassa it was ordered by a faction known as the Avalon Protectorate. I know the one that attacked you ended up being the founding member of the Steel Legion, but at the time he was under the orders of the paladins of this planet. It is funny to me though that they are now the ones in trouble. The Avalon Protectorate, a group of holy paladins that consider themselves to be righteous and pure have sent out a desperate plea to all the factions of the war asking for any hope they can get to save their homeland. It was when I saw this that I contacted Blizzard and asked him for permission to send you here as a representative of the Planet Trade Organization. It really has little to do with saving the planet and honestly more to do with you causing some problems on the planet with the overhanging threat of the Steel Legion being the reason why. You are free to do whatever is necessary to take out the Steel Legion Members and any collateral damage that might come about because of it will be considered acceptable for saving the planet. Personally, I am looking forward to seeing what you can do to this planet. They threatened both of us by targeting you and because of that they deserve whatever is coming to them. I still want you to be controlled in doing this, we do not want to incite the Avalon Protectorate to change their attention to you, but it should be fun in the end for you and me to see all the trouble we can get into on this planet right now.

The pink demon's attitude quickly changed to one of sickening joy as he thought about all the trouble he could cause in the name of the war. Since the start of this conflict he had started to understand the importance of being more cold and calculating in his actions, but this was clearly a chance to be much more destructive and with the ok of the constantly nagging dark titan. Buu knew very well this was a situation though he needed to handle cautiously. Clearly the Avalon Protectorate would be on high alert if they were truly under attack and he could already sense a few of the elite fighters on the planet and androids as well had significant enough powers to pose a threat should he get out of control. That was were some of that control would come into play. Yes he would end up being a crazed destructive force, but as long as it was targeted in the right way he would probably be able to as Menoetius as suggested get away with almost anything he wanted to. It was really just a discovery of how far he could push those limits before he found himself in more trouble than he truly wanted to deal with. This mission; or task if you will, was more about getting some payback and not just slaughtering as many people as he could while proving his undeniable strength and battle prowess. In the long run he knew he would get that chance eventually and the pink demon had actually started to understand that sometimes there was a bigger plan in place than the instant gratification he desired most of the time. It was now all about balancing the two desires in his mind and at the same time keep the dark titan from causing him too many issues.

Buu focused his mind now on the battle he could feel taking place on the surface of the approaching planet. He was ready to pounce when Menoetius interjected once again I believe you should wait on that. The trajectory the ship is on will have you landing in the middle of that battlefield in just a few minutes. The warriors will all be ripe for the killing and any side damage you might do I bet would be magnified I assure you of that much. You have shown great patience to this point of our travels, I only ask you hold out a little longer and then the chaos we can cause on Avalon will be all the bigger and better. If my estimations are correct, then the Steel Legion will be just about to overwhelm the Paladins when you arrive. Even if some warriors are lost with your onslaught, it won't be thought about and the people of Avalon will be forced to look at you as a hero. The fools have no idea what they are really in for! Think of it like some of the movies you have watched with your friend Toma. This will be your grand entrance and with it the beginning of the end if this particular story. Just like the movies, but unlike them the hero will not be what you expect. He will be just another threat to the populace, but one that they invited in just to save themselves from another threat. The scheming and planning of the dark titan was always apparent, but this was one of the few times he showed a truly vicious and maniacal side that was omnipresent with him. Menoetius tried to control the monsters desires, but he was not without evil in his core as well. The dark titan had lived most of his life trapped in stasis planning revenge and it could be argued that his evil thoughts and strategy behind it could be more dangerous than the pink demons crazy sporadic ways of handling things and doing as he desired.

The plan was solid and the demon clenched his fist, but waited to follow the scheme of the dark titan. Buu ready to kill them all, but he be patient for now. Buu want to get revenge on robots and people who try to kill him all at once. The monster said out loud even though he knew full well that Menoetius would be able to just hear his thoughts. He was excited to see what was to come in this upcoming battle.

It was going to be an outburst of built up rage though from the demon when he landed. Buu had been hungry for a fight, the Control Units on Earth had all be claimed and he was not given permission to attack one and so this and other regiment smashing was something he had grown accustomed to in order to release that rage. This battle, the paladins, their allies and the machines of the Steel Legion would have no idea what was in store for them when the monster landed and Buu had already been told collateral damage would not be looked down upon as long as it was necessary to defeat the machines. He had the green light for violence and destruction which was clearly not a good thing for anything that might be waiting for him on that battlefield. They would be disposed of properly in time one way or another and it would be violent for sure.

The pink bubblegum like monster waited in the observation room overlooking the travels as the ship was pulled towards the capital of the Avalon Protectorate. A place known for trying to protect the Universe from the evils and things that "go bump in the night" and little did they know the savior that was on the way was one of those evils. He was also not a savior, but a destructive force; one that would destroy the Steel Legion and anything that got in his way of doing just that. No one was really save unless they simply allowed the monster to do as he desired. Only death and destruction was coming now; it was inevitable and the only way out was to stay out of Buu's way if you wanted to live.

Arms hanging limply at his sides and with his head tilted to the right he waited as the gold plated ship broke into the atmosphere and the extreme temperatures could be visibly seen around him. The crazy heat and then freezing cold was interesting, but as he saw the cloud line Buu grew anxious. His gold plated military vessel looked like a miniature sun as it shined a magnificent light over the battle field and caused many of the organic warriors to stop for a moment, but the machines did not react as the pressed their assault further on into the ranks of the paladins and their allies. Just as an Android assault team was about to make a move though the ship crashed down into the torn up dirt surface leaving a small crater in front of them. Many stopped and looked on at what was going on while others continued to fight. Even some of the Steel Legion's regiment stopped to see what this interruption was and began to determine exactly what to do with it; specifically how to go about destroying or assimilating it into the Steel Legions collective power base. For the most part this battle was on hold as all those involved where distracted by this strange arrival. They all were waiting to see what about to come out from this gold plated ship that had rudely interrupted the ongoing and intense battle.

Smoke billowed up from the crash site as all those around waited to see what would emerge from the smoke. Before it even cleared though, beams of energy shot out from the thick smoke with deadly precision as Steel Legion member after member were blasted away from the crash sites immediate vicinity. Cheers from the defenders of Avalon could be heard as they rushed immediately into attack to press the sudden advantage as they assumed a hero had arrived to save them and this was him.

The Steel Legion was focused though, just like a machine it had now identified a target and it would have to be taken care of. With the new hostile threat in the battle they immediately sprung back into action focusing many of their units into thick smoke to take out this new enemy to them. As they flew in though many were knocked out of the smoke with vicious strikes and sent back into the battle. More units were needed and the Legion did just that focusing a majority of the regiment to slaughtering this one still unseen foe. As they flew in though power began to radiate suddenly and the smoke was blown away as the entire planet seemed to be shaking at the surge of energy.

It was at this point that Buu was revealed from the smoke, a pink energy field radiating around him as he hovered in the air. Black flashes of electricity flew around shocking random things as the monster stood with both hands extended in the general direction of the incoming assault force targeting him. With his head tilted to the right he monster got a huge grin on his face before releasing an beam of pure darkness only giving off flashes of pink light as it flew towards the incoming enemies. The beam him the foe in the middle of the group and the exploded with a huge burst of energy covering a huge amount of the battlefield with powerful shockwaves strong enough to kill most warriors in the area. The brilliant light that flashed from the blast like an explosion from a powerful bomb or missile was great enough to cause most in the area to at least cover their eyes to protect themselves for the time being from the light itself. When the light calmed and the smoke again settled the pink demon was no longer flying, but now he was standing amongst a pile of dead robots with his head tilted to the right and his arms calmly dangling at his side as he looked around for what else might be left as far as the Steel Legion was concerned. The landscape of the area was completely desolate now some of it on fire burning from the powerful blast and the rest of it having the remains of the lush fields turned into nothing more than dirt and dust. The pink demon though was not concerned with any of that, he was clearly calm and ready for more violence as always.

Seeing the complete destruction to the area the defenders of Avalon backed up slightly concerned about what exactly this new “ally” was doing. They watched cautiously as the defenders started to regroup and fire heavy artillery shells at the fleeing Steel Legion Members. Just like this this pink creature had turned the tides of the battle and they were going to take advantage of it for the time being as the picked off a few stragglers and tried to figure out exactly what was going on here and what had just really happened here. They had not heard of any help coming and they had also not expected anything like this to be that help if anything was coming. Whatever this creature was they could already tell he had no love for Avalon and would do anything just to win the fight.

What an impressive entrance you have made Buu, but I think you have drawn the attention now of the Avalon Defenders. If I am reading them correctly, then they are already starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together and are going to figure out that you are the one that slaughtered some of their forces on Ippen. You might want to be ready for them to act on that, but I think we have another incoming robot that has not learned yet that you are not to be messed with. Feel free to kill it however you want. It is trying to sneak up from behind you and I see him trying to start it off with a powerful punch to your head, just be ready. Menoetius suggested to Buu.

The pink demon waited for the last second and as the robot lashed out at him, just as Menoetius had suggested with a strike to his head he ducked down and allowed the machine to fly overhead before springing back up and grabbing its leg before it got away. Before the machine could react the pink demon got a sadistic smile on this face that would scare even the hardest of battle tested warriors and even put fear into a machine that knew nothing of the sort. With a flick of his wrists, the monster brought the robot back in towards himself like a rubber band the android whipped back and then Buu flipped into the air and smashing both of his feet downwards into the large head of the Steel Legion member and driving it towards the ground with violent precision before its mechanical head went crashing into the pieces parts of his other fallen legion members.

Buu started to laugh maniacally now as he saw the Steel Legion had all retreated and left him alone standing amongst a large number of their fallen type. They clearly had executed retreat.exe and no longer had any intentions of fighting. The monster had experienced this too many times with the Legion to this point as they always seemed to get away from him before he could lash out against its strongest members. It was probably another failed attempt to draw out one that would let him put his fighting skills to the test, but at the same time the demonic monster enjoyed slaughtering them either way. It was actually probably more enjoyable to him then actually having a fair fight with one. Slaughter, destruction and chaotic scenes were always fun for him to create on his own. This was just another example of that and another time he had ended a battle during this war all by himself. He was clearly a destructive force not to be trifled with.

As Buu stood and looked over the wonton devastation he had created and the number of machine and some organic warriors bodies he had slain with his attacks he managed to overhear the conversation between some of the Avalon generals;

“He is the one that slaughtered our forces at the peace conference on Ippen. It was him.” The first Avalon general said.

“No way! Why is he here and why is he helping us?” Another added in.

“I don’t know, but my brother was in that force. I will not stand around and let him survive it is an insult to my family. If you chose to do nothing that is fine, but I can’t do it!” The third general exclaimed before taking off in flight right towards the pink monster.

“Jimmy, no! Think about your family about your troops, don’t do this. You can’t win this!” The two generals yelled at the same time, but neither tried to actively stop him either.

With his glowing golden paladin armor that was stained with the blood of his troops, scuffed from the blows he had taken in the battle and clearly showing the wear and tear of the battle Jimmy pulled out his Officers Saber looking to chop the monster in half with his powerful master swordsmanship abilities. Buu turned completely around now to face the Avalon Paladin. He could already tell even with his righteous rage he would be no real threat to the pink demon which stood confidently before him as he slashed a downwards arcing strike into his gum like flesh immediately severing his arm from the rest of his body. Jimmy landed behind the demon and smiled seeing the effectiveness of his attack. He followed up his attack with another violent and quick series of anger filled attacks slashing the demon to pieces right in front of him. After the flurry though he was exhausted as he stood in front of the head and body of the demon or what remained of it after the furious onslaught of slashing sword attacks. He was confident he had won.

“That one is for my brother.” Jimmy proclaimed between deep breaths. “You killed him on Ippen in your dirty tactical ambush and now you know what revenge tastes like.”

Buu got a huge smile on his face though as the bubblegum like pieces of his body all quickly flew up and reattached themselves to his body revealing that the full onslaught of attacks from the raging paladin were for nothing as he looked to be as in pristine condition as possible. All that he had done and the monster was completely unharmed.

I think this is my favorite part, when the fools realize they have no real chance of winning after doing everything they can to hurt you and nothing happening from it. Feel free to make his death as painful or quick as you wish it will be fun either way I think. Just end him so we can move on, unless the rest of his men wish to die as well and then you can finish them all. The dark titan suggested.

Another sadistic grin came over his face as the paladin backed up fear starting to set in and overcome his natural instinct and years of training. He was now facing what he knew was the end of his life and it was not a pretty sight for sure. “Buu kill you quick like he kill everyone on Ippen that stand in his way!”

With his declaration Buu lashed out forward with a straight hand ramming it through the chest of the paladin and right out of his back. He slowly pulled his arm out as the paladin tried to scream in pain, but the hole in his chest not allowing him to get the proper breath to do so. As his hand was about to be removed from the chest of the paladin the demon released a quick blast of energy blowing him up and into pieces which scattered over the rest of the android and organic corpses that had been left here during this battle.

The demon calmly turned his head to look over his shoulder at the rest of the Avalon forces in the area almost daring them to make a move. A few started to, but then a loud proclamation was made by one of the remaining generals, “Stop, all of you. If you attack him you will die like Jimmy did. I can’t afford to lose an entire regiment out of pride and rage. For now we have to let him go unless he attacks us first. He seems to be focused on the Steel Legion like we were not targeting us with his original onslaught of attacks. Let him go for now. We can figure out what to do with this monster after we save Avalon.”

She did what was deemed necessary and her enrollment into the school was quick and swift. All around her were small buildings and very nice grass. She could see it all from the various camera angles. It was a shame that she could not display her true form. If she had did so then the robots that were after her would focus in on her. What use to be black hair was now brown. What was 6’7 had narrowed down to 5’4. She had that ability to shape her body. She could change her hair. Her eyes also would change color.

Green grass painted the ground about her feet. The little figments tickled her ankles. She was dressed in the school uniform and her eyes were low as she looked about the area and scanned it. Three buildings. They were each side by side. If she remembered correctly, this was the campus on Avalon and that this school had a campus on each planet.

“University of the Universe. They will never find me here,” she said as she took a step inside the primary building. She had her briefcase slung behind her shoulder and she walked with a hard pace. A few students looked at her for a moment, but only because she was new to their eyes.

“Where the hell did Simon go.” She was now in the main lobby and college students were moving about the area.

Large double doors swept open with a smooth glide. It seemed effortless as the hinges shifted, moving the giant white foundation outward until the smooth onyx tile contorted and meshed into gentle blades of green canvas. Almond shaped golden eyes with flecks of green stared deep into the paper held within her hands. It was some sort of campus map, listing what was in each building as well as a legend with smaller notations such as the book store, dorms, and other such necessities. A breeze shifted around her from, lifting thick purple and pink hair from her back and neck. Wispy bangs blew against her smooth ivory skin.

The grass swept across the area in gentle waves. It was almost musical in movement, though it was lost on her. Continuing along the walkway, she turned glancing around. There were so many people - or at least who she assumed to be people - all wearing the same outfits. It was clear this was their home campus. She’d come from a distant planet in the University and was assigned the blue-black skirt and top she wore currently. Of course, she’d taken the time to alter it so that she had the silver trim on the corset and the fish net stockings that crossed down her legs and into her laced up ankle boots.

“These poor people.. Looks like being a transfer was the saving grace. Not stylish… Not at all..” She continued on into the main lobby as she watched the map carefully once more.

It took only a moment before her bracelets rattled on her wrist, her earrings shifting and her entire body collided into a narrow girl of shorter height than her own. Why, she must have been at least five to six inches taller. She ended up falling backwards, sliding a bit before she gasped glancing to the girl she had nearly ran over with a stricken expression.

“Oh, my! I - I am so, so sorry! I wasn’t watching where I was going! A-Are you alright, Miss?”

She felt the trauma and the momentum slam into her body. There was nothing she could do at the moment. Anna was still a weak child in body and she had to change her muscle sizes to match this height. She yelped a little and down she went like a small little tree. Her eyes widened in a sort of fear. She had already felt the rush of being ran into, but now she was staring down at her new foe; the ground.

The ground didn’t look like it would be forgiving. It didn’t show signs of love or care. It was malicious. She thought of the ground as a mere bully that was ready to accept her flesh with its fist. But the ground didn’t possess limbs. What was she thinking ab-- BAM! She hit the ground face first.

“Ugh!” That echoed into the air. Her skirt flew up but it revealed that she did not wear just wear panties underneath; she had shorts as well. A bit tacky, but she was not the type that liked the perverted wind taking hold of her skirt and showing the world her business. Pesky wind. She was kissing the ground now, and that is not meant literally. She grunted and stared at it. This ground kind of hurt.

“O-ow,” she let out before sitting up and looking toward the newcomer. “I’m fine.” Her voice was as dry as she tried to make it. She did not like to emote. “It is okay,” she started to say as if she was trying to answer questions before they were answered. “I will be okay.”

Jinx sat forward, quickly helping to upright Anna carefully. She took a moment of liberty to reach out and adjust the girl’s skirt back into place so that no one would see her undergarments. Heat rushed into her cheeks as she sat on her knees facing her. Oh, this was just great! What a perfect way to start off on a new planet. A quick glance around the area spared her of too many prying eyes. Most of the people that had been near seemed to have moved on of their own accord.

“Please forgive me, I - I was looking at my campus map and wasn’t paying much attention to where I was walking… Or to whom I was walking into.” She frowned a bit, gently grasping Anna’s elbow and helped to guide her to her feet.

“I’m not usually so thoughtless. I suppose the gravity of this planet is more of a challenge than I had assumed it would be when I first arrived..” She took a quick moment to adjust her own corset and skirt before
fanning her fingers through out her thick hair, readjusting it to perfection.
Smiling warmly to the girl she’d just kicked into the ground her blush darkened a shade or two. “Oh, how rude… M-My name is Jinx.. I’m new to Avalon. I do apologize again about knocking you down. Could you forgive me?”

Anna looked down at herself. There was not much to dust off since they were in the main lobby and the floor was clean. She looked up toward the girl her named herself as Jinx. Jinx? Was she a light curse? Would that be the reason they ran into each other? Interesting. Anna added that to her data stream. She was curious to begin with. It would seem she was an offworlder. Jinx was new to Avalon. Anna’s home land was Earth when she thought about it. When did she get here?

That was fuzzy. Maybe all of the Networking she was doing was interfering with her thought process. “Anna.” She was dry again. She almost sounded like a robot. “My name is Anna. I am new to this school system in general. Good. Now that you have bumped into me, I believe this is a sign that you and I must work together to figure this place out.”

This was the first step. She had to make more friends. She needed to build a crowd. Jinx’s shy nature was refreshing. She gave off the hint of being a kind person. Her unusual eye color was mesmerizing. It was like emeralds and gold plate decided to mesh along with the blacksmith’s fire. Anna approved of this.

“Of course I can forgive you. It was the ground that hurt me the most. If anything I will forever hold a grudge against the ground.” As she said that she looked down at the beast. It was flat and made of marble. She could see herself as she stared down at it a little. This brought her eyesight back up to Jinx as she noticed she had on a different uniform. “Is that from the other campus?”

It was modified. It had to be. That was just too much style. It made Anna feel a bit lackluster. She may have been half robot, and had an indifferent view of the world, but she did want to be stylish. A girl who lacks style must always have a stylish friend. Jinx was beginning to fill a lot of roles already. Good. Hopefully Jinx would not deny her offer of friendship. It was sudden and probably scary, but Anna was not the type to hold back her feelings on situations. To lighten the mood Anna smiled. It didn’t look forced, but it was. She lacked the ability to smile on a whim due to the superfluous amounts of information running through her brain.

Jinx laughed gently. A grudge against the ground? Who had ever heard of such a thing? She was beyond amused with Anna. She wasn’t so new to the university as she was the campus and planet, so she knew how to cut a few corners. This was obvious with the way the girl looked over her ‘uniform’. She offered a warm smile to Anna tilting her head just slightly.

“You believe in fate? Well I have no quarrel with with destiny, though I hold very little faith in my own. I would be happy to help figure this place out, Anna, was it? I’ve been in the University for a while now, though I do admit that I was transferred just last night, so I suppose that makes us both new in a way. My home is across the galaxy, on a small planet where very few people are allowed to be… How do you say, educated? My world is controlled mostly by warriors. I feel there is more to life than senseless killing.”

She shrugged lightly, as if no matter to her. Jinx was careful to keep her tone light and cheerful, though her eyes darkened slightly smoldering as if they were of melted gold burning through her very core. Oh yes, there was much more to her story than she had let on, though she assumed Anna wouldn’t be bothered to pressure her too much for information. She motioned to her dress as she watched Anna look it over.

It took her a moment to draw her attention away from her previous thoughts, allowing her body to relax slightly and her eyes to seem less aggressive. Jinx did have a bit of pride, part of which was her ability to control what she allowed others to observe of her. If she wasn’t careful, she imagined that Anna would easily read much deeper than other people she had met. She just hadn’t quite figured the girl out yet. She offered a kind smile.

“I’m afraid that I’m not like most of my kind. Those boring dreary color schemes just don’t match my complex. So, I slightly altered my outfit so that it stood out a bit, and was more… Me. Does it look bad?” She paused for a moment then glanced around. “I don’t know about you, Anna, but being so new here… It’s nice to have already made a friend. Though I can’t explain why, I think that we’re going to be the best of buddies here.”

Anna nodded at her notion of the belief in fate. She followed the conversation soundlessly. Much of what Jinx was saying had been drilled into her Network. She wanted to remember everything Jinx said and she wanted to make sure it was indefinite. Anna’s eyes focused around them and she saw a few of the students just now moving about. They must have stopped to see the commotion. That’s right. She just got out of a confrontation with the ground. It must have been an odd fight to watch. There could be no instigation to egg it back on. Her vision was back toward Jinx as she asked if her outfit look bad.

“Which definition of bad are you looking for? Is it the bad bad? Or the good bad?” She was serious with her question. She was picking up on slangs and all sorts of languages with her Network and it was actually becoming a burden. She blushed a little as she realized that maybe she did not mean the good bad in this situation. This made her look toward something else for a distraction as she apologized. “I-I’m sorry. I was a bit confused. It looks nice. Best of buddies you say?”

She did not know what to say to that. She was still just a little over a week old in terms of experience with the outside world. “That would be great.” She then remembered that she needed to meet up with the counselor to get her class schedule. “Oh, I need to find the counseling room. I know you are new, but do you think you can accompany me?”

Jinx also glanced about at the students watching their display of clumsiness. She refused to blush though, after all.. People had accidents every day, why should they be any different? She bent down to lift the campus map she’d been studying with a nod. After looking it over once more she smiled.

“Of course, comes to find out I’m in need of the same office. Also, I have to find out where I’ll be staying at. I don’t know if this campus offers apartments for their enrollees like my old campus, or if we’re forced to sleep in those horrid little dorm rooms. Personally, I hope that there is an apartment or small house for rent here.” She chuckled a bit. “Come, let us find out more about our new school grounds.”

She gently looped one arm around Anna’s arm and elbow and gathered up the remaining things they’d been carrying before guiding her new friend into the office. A quick glance down to her paper showed they were in fact only a few hallways away from the counselor office, as well as the room and boarding administration. She glanced to Anna and grinned.

“Say, what do you think of us being roomies? I know it seems a bit forward, I apologize about that. It’s just you’re the only one that I’ve met so far on this planet that doesn’t seem to judge me right away.. “ She paused, as if teetering on some unseen cliff for a moment. Jinx tried to hide the tension in her body and words as she spoke. “It would be nice, to have a friend as a roommate instead of a stranger..”

Roomates. Anna looked out the map with curiosity as Jinx brought it out. Anna didn’t need a map, but she was not going to reveal that so easily. She was afraid of Jinx finding out she was a robot. Steel Legion’s advancement into Avalon space had them all worried. But roommates? Anna once again had looked up to Jinx and she nodded easily. “That would be nice.” Anna did not have a home. She could have had one, if she was to stay on Earth, but she did not like the stares of her brothers and sisters. She did not like being watched forever. She did not want to be treated like some daughter of a deity. She was not the daughter of gods or goddesses.

It was all illusions of grandeur. Anna clenched her fists as the thought entered her mind; her could her mother live like that now? She had changed. She was so different. But then again, machines could program themselves to act any kind of way. It was just simply to throw away everything you find good about yourself and just give it to your daughter. that was exactly what Aria had done. Enough. Anna allowed the thoughts to pass and get lost in the back of her head.

Jinx was offering her a home basically. She would not deny that. “That would be amazing.” It definitely would be. It would help her hide even deeper from the intruders. Anna pointed towards the map. Of course Jinx probably already seen that they were a few hallways away, but to Anna she was able to see it in her vision now. She hacked the cameras in the hallways and was able to paint the path to the offices.

“So we have to get there? Doesn’t seem too hard right?” Her voice was changing now. She couldn’t sound to robotic. No, that would give her away. She had to act like her mother did and put emotion in her voice. “Well, let’s go then.” She took the first step toward the hallway they needed to go down, but instead of just leading Jinx, she would walk side by side. They were both equally new and lost. Well, they weren’t lost per say. They knew where to go, but the area was still new to them.

Jinx raised a brow slightly at the new tone in Anna’s voice though didn’t remark on it. After all, within just a few minutes time they had ran into one another, become friends, and had just agreed to be roommates if possible, Jinx supposed it was normal for anyone to warm up a bit more to someone else that was still for all intent and purposes a stranger to them. She resisted the urge to sigh. Strangers. That’s all anyone ever was to her.

She followed Anna down the hallway with a slight nod. “Yep, that’s the one alright. From the looks of it, the office is just right up here.” She pointed her index finger of her right hand down the hallway as if to point out the obvious. Surely it was no surprise that Jinx’s nails were perfectly groomed and painted with the same strange pink-purple coloration that her hair had. When she dressed to impress, she went all out. Why, even her boots had matching laces for them to tie neatly at her ankles.

“Hmm, I don’t know much about this place, but I do know that the University only takes up so much time of the day. We can’t just go about all day and night in uniform. We’ll have to go shopping.” A flicker of excitement crept into her eyes.

Glancing at Anna she grinned. “Do you enjoy shopping, Anna? Oh I know, its fickle and so girl-like.. But there really is something nice about being able to go into a shop and picking out a few new complete outfits. Besides, we don’t want to stand out do we? There are bound to be events and parties, maybe even some sort of non-uni related event we decide to attend here on Avalon that will require non-school clothing. Oh! And if we’re able to get an apartment, or even a small house of our own instead of a dorm room, we’ll most certainly have to get decor… and furniture.. I’m sure we’ll need beds, dressers, clothes hangers, hampers..”

She smiled a bit more, mentally going over the large list of things she was sure to drag Anna into purchasing with her. Jinx made a mental note to thank her parents for leaving her such an amazing fund to dip into when she needed it. Not that she was in any way rich, though it did seem to come in handy that she wasn’t broke right off once arriving at a new planet.

Anna was bombarded with a surge of information and conversation. She stopped right before they got to the door of the administration office. Shopping? She had never thought about it. She knew what it was and why it was needed. She looked down at her own clothing. She had quite a few things to wear, but nothing was picked for style. She did not want to be identified by wearing the same thing more than once. Jinx had a few points with shopping and more than that. Parties and events! Anna would need to indulge in those. “Uhm. I don’t normally shop, but shopping is something that every girl needs right?” She nervously grinned but did not chuckle. “Yes. decor is needed if we get our own place.”

The situation was getting better and better as time went on. Anna’s hands found themselves clinging to one another and hiding behind her back. She used this as a chance to play around with her fingers to divert her nervous feelings. She did not have funds of her own, but getting funds would not be a problem.

Simon: How cute. A friend.
Anna: Shut up, Bravo. Where are you? You have gone dark on my Network.
Simon: Only because I wanted to surprise you with my positioning.
Anna: I don’t like surprises.
Simon: But I like the look you give when you are shocked.
Anna: Whatever. Just don’t get caught by the intruders.
Simon: Ha. That won’t ever happen.
Anna: Why did you type Ha?
Simon: Don’t call me out on something so stupid. I don’t know.
Anna: >.>;

“I-I think Simon could help us get an apartment. I’d like it to be close to the school though. I’d hate to have to walk too far. Simon is my guardian. My parents aren’t able to take care of me. I don’t know if you noticed but I am… well I am a little young to be in college.” The story wasn’t as false as she was making it out to be. She was like a week old, but this body of a middle school student would serve as an easy excuse to fake her age.

“I’m only 14 years old see. I’m not just short because I am short. So I have a guardian that watches over me from time to time and that is Simon.” Anna placed her hand on the door knob and twisted it down. “He can help us well and I know it. He might even fund it himself.” She knew Simon hearing that would make him shudder and she said that on purpose for that fact. It was all fair since he wanted to surprise her. She opened the door and walked into the administration office.

She blinked, listening to Anna explain about being so young. And here she was thinking that the girl was simply short. Well that was alright with her, Jinx was only 17 herself. She had been top of her class for as long as she could remember, her father had made sure of that.. She refused to cringe at the memories.

“Well, that would be fine indeed, after all the more we get for less is a better bargain. At least, I believe it to be.” She offered a light smile and walked into the office with Anna.

Inside the office was a beautiful onyx countertop trimmed in white marble. A neat stack of file cabinets where behind it against the back wall of the room. On the counter were a few folder organizers as well as various stacks of paperwork needed.

A thin woman with long red curling hair and glasses turned to face the girls. She was wearing a blue uniform trimmed in gold with white gloves, a white neck tie, and matching hat. She smiled a bit with a slight nod to them.

“Welcome to the University of the Universe. My name is Shuynn. I am the administrative clerk here for the Avalon Campus. Are you new here?” To Jinx’s nod she smiled warmly. “Well then, we’re more than happy to have you! There are a few forums we will need to be filled out and then we can get you on your way. First off, have you been assigned your classes and housing locations yet?”

Jinx shook her head and stepped up to the counter. “No, we haven’t. My name is Jinx, and this is my friend Anna. Being new to the planet as well as the campus, we were wondering if there was a way that we could be roomed together? We would like an apartment or housing location, please.”

The woman raised a brow looking from Jinx to Anna, perhaps wondering why someone so young looking was enrolled, though she said nothing. Turning to her cabinets she nodded pulling out a file. “Hmm… Well, I’m afraid that we haven’t any apartments left.. Though.. Just one moment.”

Shuynn flipped quickly through the papers, turning back to the pair with a bright grin. “Well, you’re in luck! We happen to have one small house left for campus students. It’s a small three bedroom one bath. It includes a living room, a kitchen, and an eating area. It has a little yard fenced in around it and it’s located towards the back of the campus. Towards the Library and Mess Hall, to be exact. It hasn’t been rented out for some time now though so I imagine it will need a bit of work, perhaps some new furnishings.. What do you say?”

Jinx’s eyes lit up at the possibilities of options to do what they wanted with the tiny house. She smiled wide and looked to Anna. “Well, what do you think, Anna?. Should we take the house?”

Anna did not hesitate. The moment Jinx asked her on the thoughts she had on the house she immediately nodded. “Yes. That would be ideal. We should get that house.” She stared at Shuynn and allowed what Jinx had said before to register in her head. She was young as well. That put Anna at even more ease. They were surrounded by more aged people. Some would be around their 20s or so. That was a huge age gap for Anna to have to deal with. Well, so was 17, but just how far could you really count these things when you were born a week ago?

“Of course, we would need to have a registered guardian placed in that house as well. We’d prefer a female guardian, of course. Let’s see if we have any that are available.” Shuynn went right back towards the books to search for one and left the forms for the two to fill out. Anna hated forms. Why couldn’t this be on a computer? She’d just upload a completed form in seconds. She couldn’t do that anyway. That would give away her little secret identity as a robot.

The chairs were comfortable at-least. the table wasn’t too low to the ground. The pen felt pretty good in Anna’s hand. Anna had sat down with the forms a moment ago. She was staring at them and analyzing just what she was going to write. She didn’t notice it until she gripped the pen, but the pain from training with her axe had never faded. Even when she was able to shape shift, she wasn’t able to shape away bruises and pain. She winced a little and looked to her hand.

“I didn’t think that would weigh on my hand for this long.” She looked up to Jinx and she frowned. “Sounds weird, but I train with an axe. I just fancy the weapon.” She looked down at the paper and began writing and it was probably the worst handwriting in existence. She was not use to doing these things by hand and it showed. She caught on that her handwriting wasn’t so good and she was feeling the tension of embarrassment gripping her stomach.

“Hm. I don’t see an available female representative. School policy won’t allow us to just assign any representative unless they are a relative or an official guardian of one student involved.” Well that was easily going to be solved. But before Anna could speak up, the door opened and her attention was brought to it.

“I’m sorry I am late. The traffic here in the heart of Avalon is a monster isn’t it?” Anna’s eyes were opened wide. At-least he cleaned up his look from before. But where in the world did he find this person’s skin? They had to be a perfect match to his 7’2 height frame.

“S-Simon,” she said still in disbelief. “You look...creepy.”

Simon laughed as she said that and he put his suitcase down onto the countertop. “Oh nonsense. Anna, it is good to see that you made it through the transfer. You told me to look for a job and well it would seem that I qualified for the Universal Study of the Planetary Ecosystem. Long title, but in short I do hands on study of the various planets. Forests. Wooded areas. Haunted houses, even! Oh,” he stopped and looked over toward Shuynn. “Whatcha looking at over there?”

Jinx had moved over to the table, listening to Anna speak and was about to reply when the door had opened and Simon had come in. It only took a moment for a large sweat bead to form on her forehead. This was the girl’s guardian? But he looked so.. Well, Anna was right, he was creepy. Why, the man had to be nearly two foot taller than herself! She didn’t realize her jaw had slacked slightly as she stared at the man.

Shuynn glanced to Simon with a raised brow. She’d been told there was a new teacher, but she hadn’t been expecting...him. She cleared her throat and straightened her papers. “Why, hello there. My name is Shuynn. Is there something that I can assist you with, sir? Perhaps lodging and locational information for your classroom?” She paused smiling to Jinx and Anna. “Which, I just finished signing the two of you up for. Imagine that.”

Jinx groaned inwardly, clamping her jaw shut, though she said nothing. She looked to the forums in front of her once more then glanced to Anna’s forum Noticing her expression Jinx offered a light smile reaching out and touching her hand. “You’re hands must be very sore from training.. Why don’t you just jot down the personal part.. and I’ll fill these out for the both of us. It’ll give your hand a bit of a break. I don’t mind, if you don’t. Oh, I hope you don’t find it offensive sweetie, I’m just trying to be polite.”

Jinx had already nearly completed her first forum. Her script was a tight little cursive with large loops and strict lines. Her mother had forced her to practice writing when she was younger, nearly until her hands had gone numb to the touch. Jinx supposed that to be a ‘proper’ female, her mother felt that womanly duties such as scripture matter.. Though it had no effect for Jinx personally. She hated writing, it was simply a fact that she was rather good with it.

Shuynn had already put together a rather sizable folder for Simon to go over. Within it were the forms needed to finalize his new job, classroom schedules and rules. A list of the supplies he would need as well as when he had any upcoming meetings. She walked over to Jinx and Anna with a couple of bottles of water. “In case you’re thirsty.” She’d said politely before making her way back to the counter.

The woman was a one-woman team of filing systems. She was in and out of each filing drawer with quick movements. Jinx watched quietly as she continued to pile up papers for Simon, as well as a couple for her and Anna. From a small metal lock box came forth a couple of sets of keys. To the house, Jinx imagined. It only took Shuynn about three or four minutes to do what Jinx could swear would have cost her an hour or more to do. How organized!

Anna nodded and she formed a small line of red blush on her cheeks. Her struggling handwriting was noticed. “Sure. I don’t mind that. I am almos--” She stopped as more forms were getting piled up. Her eyes were widened in the fear. The papers were forming an army against them. She started to shake and her eyes looked left and right in paranoia. Was this some kind of conspiracy? She just wanted to hide. She didn’t know hiding would take this much time.

Simon had to be having an even tougher time. She had given him so many forms. Yes. She wasn’t alone. Simon also would be panicked. Anna looked up with a little grin on her face. To see the once great Control Unit Bravo reduced to a panicked bot in hiding would amuse her. When she looked up she saw him pecking the forms against the counter and she glanced at something she did not expect; beautiful handwriting.

What was this? Simon was not only already done, but he did it with such a graceful style. Did he cheat!? How did he finish so fast? Why wasn’t he in panic like she was! Could this Control Unit also battle against what Anna found to be her worst foe up to date!? Her pen fell out of her hand and she grabbed onto her strands of hair and looked up at the ceiling. Simon had defeated the great army of forms and left her behind to die in the battlefield.

Simon looked back at Anna and saw how strange she was acting. He didn’t hold back his sigh at all. “Anna. It isn’t that hard, if you are stressing about the papers.” Simon looked back to Shuynn and he smiled. “I am sorry, Anna is rather young and this is probably intimidating her a little.”

Simon was right about that. She settled down a bit and looked back down at the papers. She couldn’t push all of this work on Jinx. That would be so unfriend like of her! She knew Jinx wouldn’t have mind, but Anna had pride!

But pride was something Anna decided not to rely on. She didn’t want to rely on pride because she did not want to be like the Saiyans or to be like her mother. Before she knew it, she was consumed by this ‘pride.’

She picked her pen up and she gazed over to Jinx. “I must. I must do this, or I have lost.” She was talking about the forms, of course. She rose her writing hand high up into the air and drove it down into the paper and began to write. Simon leaned against the counter and he watched as Anna sped through page after page and placed them to the side. “There goes that dedication.”

Jinx blinked, just staring at Anna for a long moment before smiling a bit. She’d heard Simon’s comment on Anna’s age. He was most likely right, someone so young and out of place would probably feel all sorts of out of place. Plus, that Simon fellow seemed to be making it worse by his little comments.. Or maybe by just being there? She chuckled a little and patted Anna’s arms before completing her own forums.

Shuynn looked to Simon’s completed paperwork with her jaw hanging down. “Y-You’ve finished already? Why, Mr. Simon.. What amazing scripture you have.” She gathered the paper work and neatly filed it away, giving him in turn a couple of books and a tablet looking device. “This will send you up to date notifications via message for any new students, meetings, requests etc. Do you have any questions?”

Jinx finished and stood, walking over and handing in her own paperwork. It only took a couple of moments for her to be given the books which she required, locker information, the address and a set of keys to the house, class schedule, and a folder full of supply lists needed for each class she was given. Shyunn glanced over to Anna and smiled, supplying the same for her as well, figuring the girl would be done in a few minutes anyway. “Now, we do have uniform rules here.. But, Avalon rules state that you may use any campus uniform pervy to the school. You needn’t wear this campus colors if you prefer the colors of another campus. I see you have the Val-”

“Yes, yes, thank you Miss Shuynn for the information.” Jinx cut her off sharply. “I believe I’ll stick to these colors, if the choice is mine Here you go, Anna. These are for you..” She gathered Anna’s things and carried them to the table for her, then returned to the counter to gather her own books and materials. She gave the woman a cold glare, as if daring her to mention her old planet. Shuynn stood staring curiously at Jinx, unsure to if she had said something wrong or not…

Anna was handed books. She held onto them with a bit of difficulty. Before she could drop them though, Simon was there to take her burden away. Anna watched Jinx’s reaction. She was curious. But she could see that it bothered Jinx. Anna decided it would be best to leave that alone. Simon shook his head to the woman as she asked him about further questioning. He was a robot. All of this data that filtered through his mind had already given him a head start on things.

“I will escort these ladies to their class and what not.” Simon could feel the tension rise and it was best to just clear the room when that happened. He placed his hand on Anna’s back and avoided touching Jinx, finding it would be rude to touch a girl he did not know. He also only had one hand to use, but he was displaying inhuman strength to carry the books. That was not uncommon though. The universe was filled with powerful people and even the students had a range of power. “Come on you two.”

Anna opened the door to allow them all to leave. She held it open and didn’t close it until they all were in the hallway.

Simon: Going to ask your friend why she freaked out?
Anna: Why? If she wanted us to know then we would know.
Simon: That is true. It isn’t like we are clean ourselves. We all have secrets.
Anna: Let’s honor her will to keep her own.
Simon: Correct. We won’t pry into it.

“Okay young ladies. It would seem that you both are scheduled to have me first. I will let you two get their first. Nothing more embarrassing than coming in with the teacher or after the teacher gets there.” After mentioning that he looked down to Anna. “I will go ahead and take both of your books to the lockers as well. If you would allow me to Miss Jinx?” He turned to her and gave off a warm smile.

“A friend of Anna’s is a friend of mine.”

Jinx turned to Simon as soon as they were out of the office and into the hallway. Her entire posture had changed back into the carefree happy-go-lucky being that she’d been just moments ago. To Simon’s smile she nodded holding out her things.

“Why, thank you Mr. Simon.. That’s sweet of you to offer. If you’re sure you don’t mind that is.” She glanced to Anna and smiled. “Don’t forget to hold onto your keys. We can’t be losing those or we’ll never get into the house.” Chuckling lightly she linked arms with Anna and pointed across the campus towards the farther building. “Mr Simon’s classroom is that way, I believe. It’ll make things a lot easier when it comes time to head on over to the house.” She nodded to Simon and lead Anna towards class.

“Let’s make sure to find seats next to one another, that way we can bounce notes and suggestions back and forth,. I don’t exactly know what to expect of your friends class.. but hopefully we won’t be given too many after class assignments. It’s such a bore to be doing school work outside of school hours. Don’t you think?” She rolled her eyes, “I imagine we’ll have some teachers that are all about the homework though. I swear, some people are just so boring that way.. Oh, and as soon as we get the chance we’ll need to visit the school’s bookstore. I heard that we’re able to get electronic devices similar to capsule corp products for school work. Basically, their upgraded computers. Like tablets, but more advanced options.”

She paused glancing around the campus. There was a breeze blowing. Flowers across the grounds gave the air a gentle, sweet smell that was relaxing and calming to her senses. Jinx smiled, tilting her face into the breeze so that her bangs danced across her brows. Shutting her eyes for a moment, she took in a deep breath before quietly releasing it. “This is such a beautiful planet.. It’s so far from home, yet I feel no turmoil about being here. It’s nice… to have a fresh start.” She glanced to Anna with a sad smile. “I may be older, but I was always treated very child like where I grew up.. my parents were very strict with what they felt my life should be… At last, I have the chance to be who I want to be.. To be my very own person for the first time in my life.”

Those words hit Anna like a freight train. To be my very own person for the first time in my life. She could not count the times that she compared herself with her mother. She felt like a cheap copy of that woman. She had essentially the same functions. She even looked like her in that base form of hers. She could not look in the mirror and see Anna. She could only see Aria. Anna mirrored Jinx’s sad smile. She felt every bit of the words Jinx had said.

“Come on, let’s go to class. Don’t worry about me losing the keys. I am not as clumsy as you would think,” she started to say before she tripped over her own feet and fell onto the ground. It was the ground again. Did he want to prove dominance over the conquered paperwork? He just wanted to show her just how deadly he was, didn’t he? She quickly got up to her feet and for the first time she chuckled. She wanted that to pass on by as if it had never happened.

“Anyway, to class we go!” She hurried away from that scene, grabbing Jinx’s hand and darting toward the building. Introductions were plain and clean. Simon showed up and began the class. Of course Jinx and Anna would gather a bit of attention, especially from the young men of the classroom, but it was mostly silent banter. Simon, being the jerk that he was, gave them homework. A lot of homework. At-least, to Anna’s and his own comfort, the homework was all digital and used that little computer system that Jinx was talking about.

Time went by and classes were done, but none of that is interesting at all. This was a story about Jinx and Anna, right? It was time to go to the house.

Jinx had sat near Anna in classes. Amazingly, they were given the exact same schedule. Well, that was fine by her. Just meant that her and her new roomie would have more time to become better friends. She scowled at the male classmates as they bantered back and forth. She groaned and nearly voiced her complaint at Simon’s homework. Figures. She’d have the worst of luck with homework, she was sure.

Finally classes where done and over, Anna and herself had found their way to the little homestead on the back side of the college campus. Jinx paused outside, staring at the structure before them. The house wasn’t as small as Shuynn had made it sound. It was dirty, and needed to be cleaned properly.. But the house had a nice little sitting area in the front, and the rooms were fairly large. Her eyes glistened brightly at the potential. Why, there was so much that they could do! A wispy sigh escaped Jinx as she spared a glance to Anna then back to the house.

“Oh just look at it, Anna! Isn’t it adorable? Why, of course it needs a little bit of work… A couple fresh coats of paint, maybe a new window or two.. But the shingles look good, and the rooms are nice! Hm, we’ll have to make a supply list right away. We’ll need brooms, and mops, maybe some dusters and polishing wax. The floor needs a good hard scrub, but the woodwork looks nice. Maybe some certains for the front.. The yard will need to be taken care of. Oh, I’ll plant some flowers! Maybe a garden! Look at how much room seems to be beyond the house itself. It’s such a nice little place, and it’s awful close to the campus buildings, so it isn’t that far to walk…”

Jinx continued to ramble on about little furnishings that they would need as she opened the door and made her way inside. All the bedrooms were generally the same size. She walked into the far back room to the left of the restroom and popped her head out of the door. “Oooh, Look! If you don’t mind, I would love this room! Of course, they’re pretty much the same.. So if you would like it that’s fine too, Anna!” She offered a huge smile, clasping her hands together as she looked at the fair sized closet. No doubt making a mental note of the room for outfits and other baubles she would blow money on.

Walking from room to room she found her way to the kitchen, her expression lighting up even more. “Oh look, Anna! The kitchen is HUGE! It has a large sink, a fair size stove, and even a good fridge in it!” She opened the refrigerator and about gagged, slamming the door shut quickly. “....Yeah… we’ll need some cleaning supplies for sure… Don’t look in there..” She glanced to the cabinets and walls. “Hmm… Yep, going to need to go shopping for some pots and pans, and dishes, too.”

Anna was almost overwhelmed by the house. She had no place to live just a few hours ago. This was nothing compared to the military like setting she use to live in before she eventually ran away from it. Between Jinx and herself they owned this home. She followed Jinx about the house and she was clueless to everything the girl was saying. She simply chuckled and nodded as she spoke. When she claimed a room Anna nodded. “That’s fine. I’d like this room over here.” She looked back and just picked a random room.

She did not have preferences. She was just glad to have gotten this far now. It would seem her hiding was not going to be boring or anything now and she would have Jinx to thank for that. Anna went to do her own exploration but was cut off by Jinx telling her not to go into the fridge. She frowned. She wanted to see, but Jinx would know a bit more about these things than she did. Anna could use the Network to get all sorts of information, but that would be suspicious. The devices that they used for homework and all sorts of computer usage buzzed as a sort of ALERT had set off.

They must not forget about the war. They most definitely must not forget that Steel Legion was down on that planet and terrorizing it. Of course, this was not something near them at the time. They just wanted to alert them that a few of Steel Legion’s troops have been pushed off the planet. It was relieving news, but Anna found an indifference with it at first. Then she realized that if Steel Legion had gotten to this campus they would try and take over these young men and women.

Anna did not develop care just yet, but she did not want her identity spotted out by one of her brothers or sisters. That would be bad. “Oh, looks like Steel Legion is being pushed off.” She nodded. “I would expect no less from the capital planet. Paladins should be able to drive them off no problem. Oh! I hope this isn’t too personal. Uhm, I noticed you don’t have the silver hair and….well your eyes are quite golden. Greenish gold in-fact! But uhm you don’t live here, of course. I am from Earth. I-I don’t want to know,” she thought about it for a moment and then she realized that this may be a bit too much.

She remembered the reaction that Shuynn had gotten and it was best to just drop this. “Nevermind. Maybe some other time.” She wasn’t even interested anymore. She would have to figure out some lie to tell her about her race if she did that. Even with the truce and all, the saiyans were not gathered as the best species. Robots were already a bad term now. Anna just could not get any peace with this.

“So that third room. Who do you suppose that will go to? I am sure they will have another transfer student that will need housing.” A change in subject was needed.

Jinx was in the middle of dusting when Anna mentioned Steel Legion. She paused glancing back to her with a curious look. “Steel Legion? ...Paladins? Who are they? Someone important or evil or something?” She had a blank expression; clearly confused as to who Anna meant.

She frowned slightly, trying to think. Steel Legion. Well, it was a familiar name.. She just couldn’t quite place it, it was as if she’d heard about them long, long ago. Though it only took a moment to distract her, as Anna started asking about her hair and eye color. A dark flush crept into her cheeks. Anna was sure to be the first of many to question her about those very same things. She swallowed hard, thinking of what to say, without lying to her new friend. Her eyes shimmered slightly and she offered a light smile.

“I’m surprised it took you so long to ask, honestly… “ She turned to face Anna, dusting off her hands. “You see I’m from a very distant place.. The planet I grew up on had no actual name, the planet I most recently lived on was Valhalla..” Jinx stared at her, wondering how much information to give, and how much to keep to herself. “My mother is a demon, which accounts for my strange hair and eye coloration. I’m told I’m the splitting image of her…”

There, the truth. Partially anyways. Smiling brightly at the mention of another room mate, Jinx nodded a bit. “Maybe another transfer, or maybe just someone else that needs a place to crash. When we go shopping, we could pick up the basics… Just in case, if you would like. After all, no reason to clean the house up and leave the one room a dusty old mess right?”

Jinx walked over to the table that had been left behind and pulled a large white sheet off of it. A cloud of dust swept over her leaving her coughing for a moment. “Oh! I think one of the first things we should consider is opening the windows to air this place out…” She laughed a bit once the dust settled leaving her arms and hands covered with debris from the dust.

Anna went down a bit to a coughing fit. She didn’t hit the ground this time, thank god. This time she just bent over and coughed a few times. After the dust had settled she took time to soak in where she was from and parts of her heritage. “I see, that is very interesting.” So she was a demon. That wasn’t too uncommon. It definitely was not the normal, but Anna was anything but normal herself.

“I am from Earth, like I said before. Hence, why I have such a bland brown hair and brown eyes.” Lies. She had black hair and blue eyes. She stood 6’7 in her real height. But she could not tell her this yet. Oh! But to ease the tension! “I-I do have a particular ability. Having abilities are pretty common around here right? I can shape-shift a little. I can change the color of my hair, see?” She had to pretend it was difficult to do at-least. This way, Jinx would not feel betrayed or anything. At-least not as much. She closed her eyes and she strained a little, even though it was an act. Her hair slowly started to bleed a different color. It became a red color and she opened her eyes and they were light blue.

“Phew! See? It is pretty underwhelming. I mean I can do other things. My parents did train me a little. It was more for self defense, though.” That wasn’t entirely a lie. “Simon helps me with my training here and there. It helps keep your body fit and… uhm well nice.” That part wasn’t a lie at all. She relaxed and allowed her hair to go back brown and her eyes back to the same color. She then went on to the Steel Legion business. This actually saddened her to have to explain.

“Steel Legion, took Earth. They are a bunch of robots that went against their creators which were the Earth Defense Forces. They turned pretty much everyone into robots. I didn’t like it there. I had to escape. Do you know,” she started to say while clenching her fists. This part was real, though it had nothing to do with her being a robot. “Do you know it feels bad to see your brothers and sisters staring at you with no life. They vow to protect you and only you like you are some kind of go--” She covered her mouth and looked up toward Jinx.

She was revealing too much. She had to stop or else she ran the risk of showing her who she was. She uncovered her mouth and a nervous smile appeared on her face. “Nevermind. Let’s open a few windows shall we?” She turned around and went to open the windows. “And shopping does sound nice, even for the new comer that hasn’t shown up yet. They could always change the color schemes and stuff when they actually got here, right?”

Jinx watched with a sad smile, listening to Anna explain who Steel Legion was. It saddened her, to know that such hatred was out there among people. A slight sigh escaped her. Her heart ached as she watched the emotions dance across Anna’s face. Watching something as horrible as she’d seen to her siblings must have been traumatic in every sense of the word. Jinx frowned. Being an only child may have been a curse, but it looked like it was also a saving grace.

Walking over to the large double doors that lead into the kitchen, Jinx opened the windows and doors closest to her. Valhalla had been her home for a short while, though she’d never remembered them being attacked. Perhaps they were simply too far away, or maybe had better fighters? It was a Sayian strong hold after all..

Stepping into the porch area, Jinx smiled at the light coming down onto the little garden area. “I can’t say I know what that was like, Anna.. I’m an only child, you see. I do know that you’re safe now, here on Avalon.” She glanced back to the kitchen window near Anna. “From what I’ve heard, this is a super strong, safe planet. We’ll both be safe here. And as for the trick that’s quite amazing! To change your hair color like that is neat I think!” She offered a light smile, “I suppose not being human does give you certain… abilities.. that help non-human life become stronger. Even I know a few tricks, though nothing that impressive.” She took in a deep breath and walked back to her friend. “So. About that shopping. We’re going to need a few things if we want to eat and sleep here tonight, wanna get going?”

Jinx dusted off her hands and arms, attempting to clean herself back up. She pulled a paper and pen from one of her pockets and began to scribble a list of cleaning supplies out. Broom, mop, soap, bed sheets, duster, dishes.. The list went on and on! That didn’t even include the clothes that she and Anna would need to buy for themselves. Then there was a mower, seeds, a weeder. Oh on top of classes she would stay very busy the next few days she imagined.

Anna watched as the list began to grow. It seemed to not be a limit of things Jinx was going to need. At first Anna was poised and had a nice composure as she watched the list. But slowly she started to feel as if she was getting hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. Her eyes had enlarged. All of this? All of this!? Living in a house took a lot of time and what about the money? How would she put together the money for this? Jinx must have had enough. She nodded to herself and she placed her hand on her chin and leaned in close to look at the list further. Confidence. Swagger. She was feeling empowered by this. She nodded every time Jinx wrote something new.

“Yes. Yes. Indeed.” She was following the list and she was using her Network to get a price on it. She was going to help the best way she could. She was finding the stores that were selling the item at a bargain price and making her own computerized list. They were going to make a good team. “I think I know a few shops that will sell most of this for cheap. I remember passing them up on my way here.”

The total price was rising and Anna could have overloaded, but she was strong. She didn’t even notice the knocks at the door. It wasn’t until the fourth knock that she realized someone was knocking. “O-Oh! I will go get that.” She turned her head and went to see who would be there. She could already see the purple hair and the matching outfitted girl standing there.

“Hey!” The girl leaned forward to get a good look at the house. “Wow, this place really looks like it’ll need a serious makeover. I should have brought my broom. My name is Lisa Rymin. Yeah, yeah I know its a silly last name, but I can’t really choose that.” She chuckled at her own witty joke. “I am a new transfer student! They told me they just assigned a 3 bed to 2 people so I was in luck. It is nice to meet you!”

Anna looked over her for a moment. She had did this with Jinx and pretty much everyone she had met. It was something like looking for robotic source code. It didn’t pry deep for DNA and all of that, but it would pull any robot into her Network and she would be able to ID them as a robot. It didn’t work. So she was clean. Anna smiled. “Hey I am Anna you are just in time! We are going shopping for supplies and stuff.”

Lisa’s eyes lit up. “Oh! Oh my! I am so glad I made it here then!” Anna walked back to Jinx with Lisa behind her.

“This is Lisa. She is also supposed to room with us.” Anna moved a bit to the side and allowed Lisa to introduce herself.

“What style! You must be Jinx! Not that I can tell because of your style or anything. Anna already told me who she was and I know of an Anna and a Jinx. You hair color and your eyes are just plain gorgeous!”

Jinx looked to Anna curiously before looking over Lisa. A flush of color rose into her cheeks as she absently touched her hair blinking abit. “Oh! Well hello, it’s very nice to meet you Lisa! Um, thank you for the compliments.. “ Jinx smiled a bit and held a hand out as if to motion to the house itself.

“Anna and I just got here not long ago ourselves.. I’ve taken the back bedroom to the left of the bathroom, Anna asked for the one on the right. That would leave your room towards the front, just near the living room and hallway entrance.. As you can see, whoever lived here last has left quite some time ago. I’m afraid they’ve taken nearly everything but the kitchen table and fridge. Anna and I just made up a list, and were planning on heading out any minute. Would you like to come? Anna happened to see some shops on the way here that had most of what we need for pretty cheap.. So we’re likely to get some really great deals!”

Jinx took in the girls appearance carefully. She looked normal and happy enough to her. After all, who was she to judge on odd colored hair and such.. her own hair was pink! And her eyes were the strangest out of anyone she’d met yet.. So perhaps she and Anna would have a new friend in Lisa. She went to her room where she’d earlier dropped her things and came back with a small black purse trimmed in gold silk like material. She had wide eyes and a brilliant smile as she approached the others. “Well, I have the list and my wallet.. The only thing left to do now is a shopping spree! Oh, I’m so excited!” She wrapped her arm in Anna’s leading her out. “I bet you would look just amazing in green!....”

Bebi screamed in mock pain as the mercenary’s sword sliced through his arm. He knelt on the ground, clutching at the stump. He held it against his clothes, appearing to staunch the flow of blood with his outfit. While this was going on, he appeared to be sobbing quietly at his severed limb. The mercenary, a brute of Saiyan ancestry, began to make a presentation to the crowd that had gathered around the hapless android.

“You’ve all watched the news. You’ve all seen the scourge of the Steel Legion. You’ve seen them destroy Namek and turn Earth into a robotic hell! Now I present to you, the only good robot … a dead robot.”

The Saiyan turned to regard his victim, but found Bebi to be conspicuously absent. In a rage, the Saiyan demanded to know where the android had gone. It even went as far as shaking a nearby peasant woman and demanding that she tell him where the android went.

“And that, ladies and gentlemen of the Avalon Protectorate,” Bebi said with unnecessary theatrics, “is why you can’t trust a Saiyan. They are brutal simians with limited brains that aren’t as far along their evolutionary path as you fine people. The Steel Legion, I am proud to say, is a little further along. That is what we’ve done on Earth. We have not killed a single person who did not first attack as this coward has done. He would have my head, for the crime of being an android. This specism will not be tolerated by the Legion and has never been tolerated by the Protectorate. I ask you, who is the real enemy? Is it the bloodthirsty ape who exists only so that he can bully others, or is it the Steel Legion, who are helping you evolve?

There was a muted silence before the woman who was accosted by the Saiyan began to clap. More and more people joined her until Bebi was receiving a round of applause from the entire crowd. The Saiyan was beside himself with anger, lashing out at several of the crowd members before rounding on Bebi. The tuffle android rose into the air and bade the Saiyan follow him. There was no point letting innocent people die because the Saiyan needed an audience. When Bebi was at an appropriate altitude, he noticed that there was a cut in the Saiyan’s arm. It was just what he needed to possess the brute and use his body to blend in with the crowd.

Another blast found its way to the liquid android, who used an exploding decoy to lull the Saiyan into a false sense of security. It worked to perfection, with the idiot simian relaxing and casting a superior look down upon the crowd that had so revered Bebi. For his part, he allowed the ape to think that he had fallen. It would make it that much easier to possess it. And now that time had come. Bebi liquefied, suppressing his power to the point of non-existence. He slid into the cut in the Saiyan’s arm and proceeded to overwhelm the brute’s nervous system with his own brand of awesome. Once the job was done, he was effectively in control of the Saiyan’s body. The biosynthetic parasite waved once to the crowd before flying off in the direction of James Starkiller. According to reports, the legionnaire who had originally been tasked with this assimilation had been hit by a car. Of all the things to be destroyed by, being hit by such a mundane object such as a car had to be one of the worst. Now that he had his Saiyan body, Bebi could walk amongst the populace without attractive attention as a legionnaire. Starkiller wouldn’t know what hit him.

The harsh midday sun beat down upon the Kougon Plains as Bebi floated high above the ground, looking for his target. He wasn't expecting much. Though better than the crappy little backwater, Earth, Avalon did not manage it by much. It was populated by a race of people who were among the most pathetic weaklings in all of the galaxy. That they had been allowed to survive where his race had perished was an insult to his heritage and one that he would not allow to go unpunished. The Steel Legion would turn these creatures into something magnificent, but not before breaking their spirit.

Aside from his planned assimilation of the planet, Bebi was also here investigating the apparent presence of a super-human. Jerking him from his thoughts was the beeping of the scouter that the Saiyan had been wearing before he lost possession of his body. While it was a pointless addition, it did serve to keep Bebi on task when his mind wandered. He could have been any other Saiyan visiting this planet instead of the last of the Tuffles who was bent of the destruction of this the entire Saiyan race. The scouter alerted him to the presence of a significant fighting power. According to the devices both in his face and in his skull, the human wasn't as powerful as he but was still stronger than the average human by several hundred times.

He landed in the village, taking note of his surroundings. Consisting of just one street, the village was completely comprised of wooden buildings that seemed to be a throwback to the Wild West era of human development in this area. There was a single bar opposite the police station and one general store whose occupants had a monopoly over sales in this area, should they choose to exercise that power. Aside from these prominent buildings there were several other places of accommodation and one church but surprisingly few actual houses. Bebi had to assume that this area was home to farming families who came in to town to shop or indulge in hedonistic pleasures, but who spent the majority of their time out of town. Is that who this James Starkiller was now? It would not be the first time in his history that he had indulged in a simple farming lifestyle.

The landscape was barren and temperate, with a ghostly forest on one side of town stretching all the way to the mountains in the distance. The farmland on the other side of town was interrupted by a series of trees that appeared to line a river of some sort that flowed through the valley from the mountains on the opposite side. Bebi grinned; all of these things seemed to indicate that help would not arrive quickly if the human managed to get a message off to the Paladins.

He got closer to the power source and spotted a human who didn't appear to have any sort of business in a town such as this. A mop of frizzy round hair sat atop a boney-looking frame that was sporting a long white coat that contrasted against the ebony colour of the man's skin. His databanks indicated that this being should have been more at home in the ghetto than in a sleepy farming community. Were he interested at all in the nature of the human race, Bebi would have asked but he wasn't. All he was interested in was the mission and to that end, he powered up to his maximum. Though he was absolutely convinced of his own superiority, Bebi wasn't an idiot and he wasn't like those arrogant Saiyans who liked to play with their food.

He dropped low in order to try and sweep the legs from under his opponent. Following up his attack, he sprang into the air to deliver a right roundhouse kick to the human's right temple. From here, he moved in close to his opponent again in order to try and engage the poofy haired human in close quarters combat.

The human was obviously startled by the sudden attack by someone who was supposed to be his ally and thus it came as no surprise that both of Bebi's initial attacks were successful. He was, after all, an android and as such was destined to be much more superior than he would have been as a pure blood Tuffle and would always be much more powerful than the pathetic human race. It was after the successful attack that the unfazed ghetto human said something strange. It seemed to be a catchphrase of sorts that when compared to Bebi's databanks matched positively with a toothpaste commercial. When he considered it, Bebi could see the vague resemblance between himself and the "good guys" in the commercial and resolved to take the innuendo further.

As the human launched into his own attack, he referred to Bebi as "bug eyes". It was an anomaly and went against the theme of the toothpaste reference that the human had made earlier. Perhaps it was a sign of the inferior brain present in the human that his associations were fractured in this way. The human spat out its cigarette towards Bebi before attempting to seize his shoulders. Bebi shrugged off the maneuver, bending from the hips in order to move his shoulder out of the reach of the floating simpleton. From there it was a simple case of inclining his head to the right to avoid the punch that was almost at the end of its reach anyway.

Once he was finished with the pointlessly outclassed attack on Bebi's "toothpaste face", the human stuck his legs between the legs of the Tuffle android and attempted to position him for another two face punches. From his bent-back position, Bebi used his ki to float up into a standing position and again inclined his head to avoid the incoming attacks on the part of the human. Once the attack was over, he floated harmlessly to the ground awaiting what was sure to be another lacklustre combo.

The human returned to his toothpaste metaphor, again proving to Bebi that his fractured thoughts were symptomatic of the human race's position at the bottom of the galactic food chain. Once he had finished with his poorly constructed metaphor, the human jerked his knee up in an apparent attempt to knee Bebi in the genitals. Had he possessed eyebrows, one of them would have been raised in disgust at this point. Bebi was an android and as such possessed no genitalia to speak of. It nevertheless provided a good opportunity for a counter that Bebi's superior intelligence granted him at this point. As the knee began to rise, Bebi lashed out with his fist, aiming a strong punch at the human's groin in order to show the idiot that he was the only one whose groin was a weak point.

The human was surprisingly still talking as he fired two kicks towards Bebi's stomach. Still in the perfectly balanced position from which he had thrown his last counter, Bebi simply shifted to his left in order to avoid the two quick kicks. He was very disappointed that the human was putting up such a poor fight but had to remind himself of the insufficient mental power at the disposal of the ghetto-dweller. In a piece de la resistance, the human made a fist with both of his hands and swung them down towards the top of Bebi's head. It was a horribly executed move that was telegraphed very early on and for Bebi it was a simple case of stepping backwards to avoid the attack before countering it with an uppercut that would surely make the human's teeth rattle were it to connect.

Like some sort of trophy animal mounted on a wall, the ghetto human was still for a few moments as the reality of the situation that he was now in sunk in and temporarily overwhelmed the pathetic grey gloop between his ears that was described by human scientists as a brain. Now, in a fair fight the referee would step in and look at the man's eyes before declaring a TKO. This wasn't a fair fight and besides, Bebi wasn't one to settle for a technical knockout. He seized the man's he in the palmy of his minty fresh toothpaste hand before slamming it into the ground. He admired his handiwork for a fraction of a moment before deciding that there was enough time to do it twice. Once he was finished, he stood the froinator back up and wondered momentarily if it would notice what had happened. Judging by the apparent intellectual capacity, the pathetic little human wouldn't notice a thing except for the splitting headache.

The barely coherent cry of "run" that fell from the man's mouth when he snapped out of whatever the hell sort of pseudo coma he was in seemed to indicate that Bebi's head-slam had resulted in a concussion. That is, until the man took his own advice and shot up into the air with such force that the edges of his body seemed to blur as Bebi's photoreceptors struggled to remain focused. The focusing of ki in the man's finger set off alarm bells in both of Bebi's scouters and he was already using his own super-fast move to fly directly backwards away from his current position and avoid the attack by the time it crashed to the ground.

By the time the smoke cleared, Bebi's photoreceptors could pick up no sign that the human was there with the exception of the crater that was the result of the failed energy attack. Fortunately he did not need to rely on his eyes alone and in fact had three methods for finding out exactly where the ghetto human had gone. For a moment Bebi was actually impressed at the resourcefulness of the human in using his fellow humans as meat shields. In fact, their use in the battle gave the Tuffle Android an idea. As he burst dramatically through the door, he spotted a beast of burden. That would do nicely and wouldn’t result in any sort of action from the Legion. He swept the legs of the beast and stood atop it. From this position, Bebi seized both of the beast's arms and pulled until they tore free of his shoulders. Now dual-wielded his very own meat-clubs, Bebi sprang nimbly onto the row of cans before peering down at his trapped victim.

Using his Hikou to keep himself balanced, Bebi swung both meat clubs simultaneously from opposing directions, aiming to make them converge at about the man's chest so that his head would be between the elbows when they connected.

The dismembered arms clapped together with nothing but air between. The inertial energy caused arterial blood spray to erupt from both arms, painting an abstract design across the floor of the building. Incensed that his attack had failed, Bebi was cheered somewhat by the magnificent crimson colour of the blood as it dried slowly on the wooden floor. He felt his spirits lift when the human got up because it meant that he would get to impose further punishment on the already bleeding human.

Like a broken record, the human raised his fingers in the form of a gun before firing an energy blast and yelling surprise.

Surprise? Really? You use an identical move with an identical set-up and I'm supposed to be surprised?

Bebi was already moving as the arm came up and completed his dodge as the beam was fired. It blasted a hole in the wall, the edges of which started to smoulder and fill the room with smoke. Those humans who were not already screaming and panicking quickly did so and started running towards the smouldering hole in the wall. Bebi laughed at their idiocy and turned his attention back to the human.

It appeared now that this ghetto human's continued existence could be put down to little more than dumb luck and was something that Bebi would soon alter significantly. With the human blathering on emotionally about problems or the weather or something, Bebi quickly grew bored and allowed an impatient snarl to paint his features. The pissing and moaning increased in volume as the human launched himself at Bebi, who decided on his course of action instantly.

Dropping one of the arms, he gripped the wrist of the other arm like a baseball bat and held it aloft. As the human got into range, Bebi swung it with all of his considerable might towards the human's oncoming face. Without missing a beat, the Colgate Android sprang into the air in order to deliver a quick punch with each fist towards the back of the human's neck. Using his hikou to alter the direction of his flight, Bebi hit the ground to the left of the human before springing to deliver a flying knee towards the ghetto poster boy's filthy ghetto chest. Almost done for the moment, Bebi fired a quick punch with each hand down towards the top of the human's ears from above. It was his hope that the force of the blows would tear the ears at least partly off.

It probably wasn't a good idea for Bebi to keep trying to be creative in such a close-in confrontation. While his attacks would be very effective if they landed, the odds were stacked quite heavily against that being the case. Such a thing happened to his latest round of special attacks, which the ghetto clown managed to either block or avoid. Had his quick follow-up not succeeded, Bebi could have been quite irritated with his forward momentum being stagnated. When finally it was time for the hairmaster to make his attacks, Bebi found himself considerably underwhelmed considering the job that afroman had done with his defence.

In what could best be described as clumsy, the human actually ran into Bebi and seemed to act like it was an automatic hit as he proceeded with the attack. The finale of the oddly worked combo was a heavy-looking haymaker. Bebi shifted to the right as the hairy knuckles of mister ghetto thundered harmlessly past him. The final, underwhelming attack was set up like a bear hug and Bebi considered breaking his mystical silence in order to call the human a homo. Deciding against it, Bebi sprang into the air, driving his knee into the already messed up face of the monkey-looking human.

Floating upside down with his legs crossed and a manic grin on his face, Bebi fired a quick jab from each fist towards the big ears of his opponent that were still frustratingly attached. He floated around towards the front of the afro, remaining upside down with his legs crossed. Once he got to the human's front, he fired another jabs while continuing to float around towards the back of the human. Upon reaching the other monkey ear, Bebi fired yet another two jab combo while wondering based on the ear he was aiming at if the human was actually a Saiyan in disguise.

The flurry of close-in fighting ended just as it had when Bebi had initiated it, but he knew that his bag of tricks in that particular scenario was running quite low. Each and every blow had landed, the knee to the face being particularly satisfying because Bebi knew that the blow was enough the make the eyes of his opponent glass over once again. Technical knock-outs aside, the glazing wasn't as forthcoming as Bebi would have liked and he found himself staring down the length of boney sinew that was the ghetto human's hairy knuckled finger. As the human launched itself into the air, an energy blast sprang forth from the tip of the aforementioned finger and moved quickly towards Bebi.

He saw it coming three times over thanks to the various enhancements that his cyborg self enjoyed and was more than ready to move out of the way. The small size of the beam warranted only the slightest movement as Bebi rolled his shoulder backwards to allow the beam to pass without causing any harm. With his knees bent and his back parallel to the floor like some kind of science fiction movie's go to move, Bebi was aware of two more beams being summoned forth and fired simultaneously towards him. It would, perhaps, be harder to dodge these because of the way they were fired.

Or it would be easier as he used his Hikou to blast up into the air. In order to ensure that the last blast wasn't doing anything screwing, Bebi continued his flight and landed some twenty metres away from where he originally stood. When he looked up again, Bebi saw that super hair's eyes had finally glazed over in response to his knee to the face attack. The delayed response suggested that serious neurological harm had befallen the human already and Bebi couldn't wait to cause some more.

Knowing that there was little or nothing that the human could do to defend himself, Bebi lined his attack up perfectly. A ferocious kick came through with everything behind it and impacted against the bridge of the human's already misshapen nose. That did it. The human rose into the air even as the bones in his face fractured and broke. From this point on, Bebi was able to inject him with the nano-virus that would turn him into the newest legionnaire. While he was here, the tuffle android elected to provoke one of the other Saiyans that was doubtlessly haunting this particular planet. He planted an egg in the medulla oblongata of the Saiyan before leaving his body and heading out onto the plains.

It was time. Since arriving on Avalon the pink demon had been focused on mostly causing chaos and destruction. Payback was on his mind, but more prevalently it was on the mind of the dark titan. Menoetius knew it was the Avalon Protectorate that sent Rubic after Buu on Kanassa and it was them that also trusted the machine that ended up betraying them and being the leading force of the Steel Legion. The machines had done so much during the war and truly it was all because of the Avalon Protectorate at least in the mind of the dark titan. They had caused this plague that was sweeping over the galaxy during this war. They are the ones that failed to see it coming and they are the ones that trusted their military to the hands of a machine. In Menoetius mind, the destruction Buu was causing on their home planet in the name of protecting them was just payment for the multiple transgressions he seemed to believe the Avalon Protectorate was guilty of committing during this war.

But as it was stated, this was no longer the time to concern themselves with this any longer. They had been paid to eliminate the Steel Legion threat from Avalon and do it by any means necessary. If that was what needed to be done, then the monster would do as he was paid to do. It was the large amount of funds that they had accumulated during this war that allowed him as much freedom as he had exploited during the past 6 months and it was also that same work that helped him to establish his own bloody legacy. The pink demon had become a symbol of terror, a being to be feared and a destructive force that very few had even lived to tell stories about after facing him. Only clips from cameras had any proof been seen of his terror and rumors that were created by tribes of warriors during the down moments of battle; it seemed wherever the demon had gone only pain, suffering and terror awaited those he was after. No one was safe when the monster was let loose on a populace and it was very clear Buu enjoyed causing the terror and destruction that had made him such an iconic figure during this war.

Legacy was an important part of what had transpired so far during the war. Warriors from all factions looked to establish themselves as the strongest in the Universe and maybe even position themselves for political or military moves after the conflict was settled and people went back to their normal lives. At the end of the day the most important thing though was survival for most, only the strongest seemed to care about where the war would put them when all things were said and done. For the pink bubblegum demon and the dark titan the legacy they left from this war was of utmost importance to them, but for completely different reasons and end goals. It was what made the union between the two so unique.

For Buu, he simply wanted his presence, his name and his legend to strike fear in the hearts of those that heard the stories of what he had done. At the battle of Mippa, it was the slaughter of the peacekeeping forces and the stack of corpses he left mounted up on the floating island. Bodies torn limb from limb, burnt to a crisp or simply disintegrated in ash; in the end he had a job to do on Ippen that time, but all the pink demon truly was concerned about was instilling fear in the hearts of others. The destruction, the pain and the suffering he caused on that day alone was enough to incite the galaxy against him to eliminate the evil that was Buu, but to this day they had failed to track him down and do just that. Buu was simply too elusive and destructive for anyone to have taken down to this point.

Simply put he survived. When on Damaskia his presence alone chased off would be attackers and caused them all to flee the planet and protect the Planet Trade Organizations allied planet. Then on Kanassa when he was hunted down by the Protectorate and Rubic the battle raged on for a while until eventually, even though he was greatly overwhelmed with power to the machine, the demonic being escaped and lived to fight another day. It seemed like nothing could take him down at that point. Then came planet Zarbon. The destruction of the planet, many accused the pink demon of doing even though he had nothing to do with it. It was the constant stream of assailants on that planet that caused the monster to grow in power even more as he fought one after another slaying one in a horrifically grotesque manner and feeding his remains to the cultivated life form and the other forced to flee just before the planet exploded. Through all of this the demon remained alive, his legacy still intact as he continued to survive no matter what had been thrown at him up to that point or he had brought to himself because of his actions. Up to this point subtlety was not his strong suit at all, but that would all change eventually too as the adaptation of the pink demon continued to evolve his own skill set.

The adventure moved on to Ippen where he grew to become more of a strategic killer. Having been hired as an assassin for the time being after his time on Planet Frieza the pink demon started to develop the skills needed to kill someone without drawing attention to himself. The Planet Trade Organization had entrusted him with a hit list for him to strategically remove during this time back on Ippen and with the aid of Menoetius and a string of movies, the demon turned himself into a deadly assassin. This new skill set opened up an entirely new world for the demon. Not only could he cause mass chaos, but through his actions and time on Ippen he had learned he could cause just as much terror by killing someone without others knowing about it and leaving without a trace. It was a process for sure, but one that had paid off greatly up to this point since he worked on those skills on Ippen and as he moved on. Then when the Steel Legion became the target he strategically removed regiment after regiment causing only destruction to follow in his path. The same wonton destruction that was no taking place on Avalon at his very hands, but at least this time it served the purpose of vengeance as well from Kanassa.

For the dark titan though, Legacy was a much more important thing. He had once lived a life that mortals could not comprehend. His race was the most powerful in the Universe, the gods themselves feared them and overtime they even took the Universe over as their own. It wasn’t till they had been betrayed that the titans were trapped away into secret pocket dimensions and scattered across the realm they once ruled over without any way for escape. At least that was the belief because when the pink demon found Menoetius realm locked away in an arm locked in a museum he managed to eventually free the Titan from his imprisonment even if it did cost him his body. The Titan now lived within the monster and granted him powers that no one seemed to truly understand or grasp the extent of. With every act, the dark titan grew stronger and donated that power to his host body in an attempt to eventually enact his revenge on the Universe that betrayed him. His legacy, his plan was simply to be the one of his race that reclaimed the glory they once had. If that meant that he would be the only one that survive, then that was be what was needed to happen. Menoetius believed his was the only one that was free or even could be freed at this point. The others he had found to this point where far too weak to even help and needed to simply be removed from existence to fuel his own power base.

The legacy he was after simply led the dark titan to want to rule the Universe once more. Yes the destruction that was caused was needed, but he was much more interested in total conquest than complete destruction. This conflict between him and the pink demon would fuel many of the debates they had to this point. Menoetius knew his goal on conquest would not be relevant if his host body destroyed all life in the Universe. He would have nothing to rule over if no one existed in the first place. Overtime, the extended period of time the two had worked together the dark titan had worked endlessly on slowly changing the mindset of the demon to follow down his road of conquest. Yes, he too wanted destruction and vengeance, but it had to be controlled and he had to work on that constantly with the monster. It was a fine line to walk too, because he knew Buu could expel him at any time and leave the titan without a body to operate out of and possibly end his existence all together. The strange relationship between the two was growing and the bond strengthening everyday though and it felt like eventually the two would learn to coincide and find a way to achieve both of their goals together.

For now though, they were in the middle of a war on a planet that neither of them cared much for and wanted to cause pain and suffering to even if they had to be cautious about how they went about causing that pain. They were sent here to defeat the Steel Legion and any other damage would have to be considered acceptable loses or at least it felt that way as they looked at it from the contract the Planet Trade Organization, Avalon Protectorate and pink monster had come to agree upon. Buu had simply been hired to protect the planet from the Steel legion “by any means necessary.” Those means though were certainly not something the paladins were happy about, but so far they were simply happy enough to not have been taken over and simply eliminated from existence from the Steel Legion itself.

Buu continued to fly over the area when Menoetius interjected, Buu, I believe it is time to participate in a larger battle than these targeted assaults. I have sensed a battle regiment of the Steel Legion moving south towards a city. Through the information we were provided by Blizzard and the Avalon Protectorate I believe I have found a place where we can perform a slaughter that will take out a large number of them. I also sense that the Avalon Army has found this path as well and will be there waiting to ambush the Legion. They are not smart enough or strong enough for the plan to work flawlessly as they believe it will. I believe you though have that power. All we have to do is arrive and you can easily take out the forces of the Legion and whatever paladins happen to fall in the chaos of battle we can consider them collateral damage for the time being. I am sure we won’t have to explain it with the number of machines that seem to be marching south. They will probably even reward for taking out such an obviously dangerous attack force that is on the move. What fools they are.

At this point, Buu could see over his right eye the direction and distance to the battle that Menoetius had found for him to participate in. The monster changed his course flying off with great speed, Buu have fun killing them all. Just better be as many as you say cause Buu getting bored of killing small groups. Buu need big fight to kill many more robots and paladins.

As he flew, hidden high in the clouds he looked down studying the area from high above what was about to be an inevitable battlefield. This was open fields surrounded on three sides by bluffs. The bluffs did not appear that high, but they were lined with loose rock that the paladins obviously did not take into account as they waited to charge down the hills at the enemies with their swords as others fired ki from a distance. Climbing them or running down seemed to be all but impossible. It appeared that any army that entered those fields is entering a slaughter house. If this was a regular battle archers could take position on the three bluffs and rain death upon the force with little threat of retaliation. The bluffs would become a natural battlement, but this was not a regular battle, this was with beings that could manipulate ki and energy to cause great destruction and also survive minor damage. Then Buu got a sense of a small flicker of power coming from behind the progressing Legion. Changing his focus to sense out the bodies of those he realize that the Protectorate had somehow moved a group of knights behind the lines of the Androids and were moving to flank them shortly after they entered the kill zone. This was a solid plan for sure as there would be no cover for their targets and no way to retreat if cavalry were to flank us from the rear. Besides the obvious way out of flight the only other way out of this massive field was a small opening over half a mile from the entrance to these fields and it was simply just a gated door. Escape would be difficult for sure, but not impossible. Strategically the monster and dark titan saw this as a strategic ambush point for sure, but it would still be difficult for them to keep the entire regiment into the area or at least normally it would be.

Buu before we go I acquired something while you were in the Astral Realm. It is a device that can contain the battlefield into this area. I believe if you use it, it will allow for the complete destruction of the Steel Legion forces. If the protectorate warriors don’t make it out, then that is their own problem. For now all I care about is simply killing the legion. The strong will survive and the others will perish. We can consider this free training for Avalon as you can personally weed out the weaklings for them. They might not appreciate it now, but trust me they will eventually. The dark titan suggested with an evil tone in his voice obviously enjoying the torment he and the monster had been putting on the warriors and people of Avalon since being hired to come here to help fight the Legion.

Surprisingly the monster simply waited in the clouds for the battle to begin. As predicted the Steel Legion boldly marched south into the fields and the Avalon Protectorate unleashed their ambush on them. Also just as predicted the charging warriors struggled to get down the bluffs causing many to be injured and the plan to not go as it had been originally planned. As the Legion was ambushed though Units flew up from behind the bluffs and immediately engaged the warriors on the bluffs as the crusaders moved in to flank the Legions military forces. Battle had ensued all over and it was all of a sudden a chaotic scene of combat. This was now a unprepared for major battle between forces.

Just then Buu grabbed the device Menoetius had given him and he flew down towards the battlefield. While a few hundred feet off the ground he turned and tossed the device into the air before the right eye of Buu flickered and the device opened and created a ki empowered shield over the battlefield. A dome like structure covered the battlefield and trapped all those inside with the pink demon and one another. This would truly be a fight to the death and a battle that would ultimately be full of causalities.

As the rotated in the air to overlook he battle he realized quickly that his presence had drawn a great deal of attention from both sides, but they continued to fight with a great fervor even though they had become slightly distracted by the recent happenings. Buu looked over the area to find out where he wanted to start the destruction when five members of the legion blasted into the air to intercept the pink demon. As the first one made it to him the monster easily ducked under its intended blow as if he had seen it coming and countered with a powerful driving kick that sent the robot all the way up into the barrier the pink demon had released and like a bouncing ball sent him violently crashing back down towards the surface below. The next two came together, but using his flexible maneuverability the monster managed to avoid them for the time being before eventually revealing that he had wrapped them up within himself and then sent them both crashing into one another just before he was met with two ki blasts from each of the last two attacking Steel Legion machines. The attacks hit, but were far too weak to cause any real damage to the monster who flew backwards after be struck by all four attacks. Flipping around in the air, the monster gathered himself quickly and flew down at intense speeds catching both of the Legion members with his arms before driving them into the ground which he then proceeded to fly into as well leaving a crater that eventually dropped the two machines off to the side and left the demon drilling down further into the planets ground. None of the warrior had ever seen anything like that and the machines, which lacked emotion, even seemed amazed by what they had just seen take place. It was clearly not a strategy you would see take place every day that was certain.

From the crater emerged not the pink demon, but a green cultivated life form that many recognized as a Saibaman. The forces of Avalon and the Legion seemed confused by this until the green monster took flight after giving a loud shriek that actually hurt the ears of the mortals near the green creature. A few looked down into the crater and as they did a massive beam erupted from inside the hole and nailed the first robot in the head and causing a massive explosion that shook the entire battlefield and nearby area.
As the smoke continued to cover the area Buu shot out from the blast radius into the air next to Keekei. Extending his hands the pink demon began firing out what seemed like an endless series of ki blasts as the green beast released flames from his mouth that seemingly covered the rest of the battle area. The paladins covered up using their trusty shields, but the machines only had their durable and well-constructed bodies to protect them from the onslaught that was raining down on them from above.

As the attacks seemed to be more focused on the machines Buu could hear the calls from the paladins, “Everyone back to the gates, we can regroup there. Let the monster handle it or else we will be caught up in his destructive ways. It is essential that we retreat if we wish to survive.”

Hearing the retreat calls from the paladins caused a feeling of satisfaction to come from within the demon as the dark titan loved seeing the weak flee from destruction, but it was not time to deal with them. This was not the time or place. The machines were the primary objective and destroying the legion seemed to still take priority in the minds of those that paid them and that was enough for Menoetius to focus his own sensory abilities and talents on the legion, hoping that the pink monster would do the same. It was effective as Buu turned towards the machines reinforced lines and tilted his head to the right as he focused his attention on the Steel Legion and planned their destruction right before their eyes; the sadistic and toothy grin of the demon causing even the machines to hesitate for a brief moment as they saw his face when he landed back on the surface with his arms hanging to his side.

Keekei continued to rain a strange combination of acid and fire from the sky as Buu stood before the entirety of the Legions regime, but some of them were still focused on combat with straggling paladins. For now though the monster had drawn aggression from the Legion and as normal protocol had been discovered the machines would work together to get rid of the biggest threat, right now that was Buu. Like a pack of wolves the Steel Legion moved surrounding the monster circling rapidly as those available had decided to ignore the fleeing Paladin and focus on the pink demon even ignoring the flames that rained down from above. As he was being surrounded the monster rose his head to a regular straight up position as he gave out a deep sigh that caused magical smoke to billow up like a train horn from his arms as it let out an audible squeak as well. The robots charged in together and as they did the demon bounced off the ground to begin to fight off the forces in what was now looking like a five hundred on 1 bedlam. The problem for the machines was that the demon could only be attacked from so many angles and while they rotated in and out as the lashed out at him they were unable to really cause much damage or even manages to connect with the overly flexible bubblegum monster. Buu looked to be at home in this type of situation, but numbers were getting a bit too great as they started to get the upper hand after a few well timed strikes. As a powerful punch came in at the demon he vanished from view appearing high in the air next to Keekei who was looking down at this point at a battlefield mostly covered in flames from his own mouth. The ground was engulfed in flames and the battle was starting to become awfully chaotic. As the first machine flew toward Buu he simply extended his arm and released a trapping imprisonment ball that captured him. He gave a quick look to Keekei who moved into position for whatever plan the two monsters had communicated seemingly without words.

The energy than began to radiate around him as he gathered forth his energy. This was not his traditional Ion beam though. The machines had all stopped having seen one of their own trapped in a ball of some kind they had no idea what to expect. This was not a traditional maneuver that the machines had been programmed to understand completely. It was the chaos and randomness of the demon that oftentimes gave him the upper hand in combat that was about to do it once more.

Charging forward, Keekei drove a power diving dropkick into the ball sending it like a bowling ball into the collective of Androids that had previously been surrounding the pink demon in melee combat. As the ball was about to contact them, the Demon turned his own attention to the rest of the warriors of the Legion still in combat and fired forth a massive blast of energy that seemed to be flowing in colors like a rainbow, but as it connected amongst the center of the remaining forces at the same time the imprisonment ball hit the other group a massive blast erupted covering the entire area and setting whatever was left of the battlefield into flames from the devastating attack that almost broke the planet itself in half due to its pure power and direct contact with the surface of the planet.

Flames had engulfed the entire battlefield as billowing smoke clouded the entire area. The stasis field that had created the barrier over the battle field was now completely gone as well from the massive blast. All that was left was destruction in the area. Buu landed down at ground zero, still not seeing his Saibaman and assuming the creature had been destroyed in the blast itself. Buu could hear feint cries of help coming from one of a number of piled up bodies. Many had flames engulfing what was left of their bodies, some alive others dead, the paladins that had not fled were almost completely incinerated and the machines had all been scattered into pieces parts that littered the area with metal parts that were also engulfed in flames. The heat of the flames even melted the titanium armor the Legion members had as protection, but still Buu could hear that cry for help and it was coming from one of the bluffs.

Walking over, Buu eliminated any living robots he came across as he made it through the battlefield and then flew into the air and landed at the bluffs where the call from help was coming from.

He landed on the other side of the covering to see two Paladins still somehow alive, but one was clearly in critical condition while the other was trying to tend to his fallen comrade. Buu looked back to where many of the paladins had fled to the south and noticed no help was coming as he tilted his head to the left and studied what exactly was going on here. The aiding paladin looked up, “This is all your fault. He was fine until you blasted the area. Why did you and your kind have to come here? This man was my best friend and he saved my life, now if you have any heart at all you will help me save his you monster or I swear to Kai I will do everything in my power to avenge him by killing you!

Buu could hear a laugh coming from within his own mind as Menoetius was clearly enjoying what he had just heard, I love when they swear to the Kai’s. Little do they know that race is nothing more than betrayers and cowards which use backdoor dealings to overcome that which they can’t defeat or comprehend. They are a despicable race and those foolish enough to put faith in them for protection or guidance deserve to die a horrible death. Feel free to take care of them however you wish. I actually hope you make their deaths as painful as possible, but whatever you wish!

Buu looked down at the ailing Paladin and with a flicker of his eyes a pair of twin beams came out and killed the struggling paladin immediately. The pink demon then looked up at the paladin and smiled his regular toothy diabolical and sadistic grin; his stance and posture daring the Paladin to lash out at the demon and meet his inevitable fate. Buu knew how this fight would end, but the paladin was going to try either way. The demonic being clearly understood that this was what the heroes always did whether it made sense or not, they fought to the bitter end and died in amazing ways that he didn’t understand.

The Paladin stood up taking a step backwards as he pulled out his sword, “You… you monster. How could you do such a thing? You are supposed to save Avalon not kill it. I will not stand for it, I cannot let you live another moment. One way or another I will defeat you and this will be your last day of existence. I don’t care if I have to die in order to do it. I promise it will happen. My name is Sir Richard Crosslin and I will be the one to end you demon I don’t care what alliance you have.”

Sir Richard charged forward holding his holy sword with two hands at his side before whipping it around and attempting a downward slash across the body of the pink monster. Buu quickly countered though bringing his right arm up and blocking the attack with his bracers as the force of the two colliding shattered the edge of the sword causing it crack into pieces over the arm of the monster. The paladin was terrified. He backed up slowly trying to figure out what to do next as he looked at his damaged sword. Buu’s eyes opened up wide as he looked at his target the darkness within almost revealing itself to the paladin causing even a greater fear to come over the brave warrior who was now coming to grips with his fate, one that he had sealed for himself and that he was just starting to understand.

Buu took a step forward, but before he could lash out he was interrupted when a green blur flashed in front of him and drove the paladin straight into the ground. Buu quickly realized what the blur was as he saw Keekei on top of the now headless paladin tearing and eating at his flesh like a crazed zombie. Slowly the head rolled off the bluff into the flames where it too was engulfed by the destruction that Buu had caused here. It was now time to leave this place. His job was done and another force of the Legion had been defeated at his hands. This was simply just another day at the office for the pink demon.

So many people. Just so many people. Anna’s brown eyes look about and the data was attacking her eyes with simply ease. She was getting so much information about the people around her that were actually from Avalon and registered in their database. It was a bit difficult for her to focus and she lost the realization that they were in a furniture store. It was only when Lisa’s body had flung across from her and landed onto a bed that she realized where she was.

Anna jumped back and she was a bit shocked at the sudden jumping. Lisa hugged onto the pillow and she squealed a little. ”I love this one. I think I may go for this one.” Lisa sat up and she looked at Anna, who was looking back at her with a look of shock still on her face from being scared a moment ago.

”What’s wrong? Did I scare you?” Anna shook off the shock and she shook her head in denial. ”N-No, I am fine. Well, maybe a little startled.”

Lisa grinned. Anna and Lisa were alone for a second and she took on a different tone in her voice.”Stay hidden”. Anna tilted her head as she said that. She couldn’t scan Lisa nor Jinx, both of them are not originally from here. Lisa had some kind of mysterious aura about her and Anna just felt awkward around her most of the time.

”E-Excuse me?” Anna did not know how to act to what she said.

Jinx strolled around the shop glancing from lamp to desk to table to bed. There were so many options, and so many colors! It was all she could do to resist the urge of charging everything in store to her father’s card. After all, Mother had given it to her for things she needed. After being in that little house, Jinx realized there were in fact many, many things needed. She turned around a post and made her way over to where Anna and Lisa were standing. She smiled brightly to them both.

“Hey, there you guys are. Have you had any luck finding what you’re looking for just yet? So far, I’ve found a desk, a few lamps, and the cutest little bed and matching bed set! I also saw this adorable little living room suite that would go well in our house, if you guys wanted to see it. It’s made of this felt like material, and its super plush. A tan color with high armrests and a set of matching throw pillows in a golden trim. It comes with the couch, a loveseat, two chairs and some end tables!”

Looking from Lisa to Anna, Jinx raised a brow at the expression her friend had. “Uh.. Anna? Are you alright? You look a little spooked, Sweetie.” She touched her shoulder lightly, as if to comfort her for whatever had startled her in the first place. Glancing back to Lisa, Jinx grinned. “You look like you found the perfect bed set for you. Is that the one that you’re planning on getting?” She leaned closer to Anna, so that Lisa wouldn’t hear her whispering. “Which reminds me! Anna did you find a bedroom suite yet? I know this can all seem a bit overwhelming.. seeing as we have to furnish the entire house and all, but if you need help with any of the prices, I’ve got your back. My parents know I have a certain flare for shopping.. “ She motioned to the slim crystal colored card in her hand. “Mother sent me with reinforcements as needed.” She chuckled a bit.

Oh, how father would be furious once he saw the bill she intended to wrack up. He’d surely want to ring her neck! Well, that was just fine with her. After her last meeting with him, she wanted nothing more than to hit him where it hurt. Unfortunately, Father was one of the stronger warriors currently on Valhalla. That is, if he and Mother hadn’t traveled back home already. So of course the only way that Jinx could damage the mighty man was to take a giant dip out of his pockets. No small feat, considering who her father was, and the occupation in which he had. Though as useless as it seemed, she intended to try and spend as much as possible. Father may be furious about it, but Mother would simply say girls would be girls and to let her have her fun. Jinx grinned again.

Anna didn’t want to voice her suspicions outloud. Jinx did not need to get mixed up in her personal business. Though if thought about thoroughly, Anna had already involved her by befriending her. Maybe one day, but today was not it. She laughed it off and waved her hand. “Lisa just scared the crap out of me, hahahaha!” Her laugh seemed very forced but that was all she could muster up. “I’m a little embarrassed actually,” she said before her eyes closed. During the eye closure, she contacted Simon.

Anna: Bravo. Anything on Lisa?
Simon: Definitely not. I will keep a close eye on her. If I have to cross-network, I will.
Anna: I don’t think that is needed yet. But please do. Only a selected few know of my hiding here. We must assume that she is one of them.
Simon: Yes. But if you aren’t getting any electronic signals from her.
Anna: Then she can’t be… yes I know. But still this worries me.
SImon: Fine. I will keep an eye on her like I said before.

Anna was thinking of how she would get money, but then Jinx presented a card. A glorious card. This card had to have money on it and Jinx was offering to purchase things for her. Come to think of it, Anna never had a proper birthday gift. Well, there was the Axe that her mother gave her. Also the freedom to choose what she wanted to do with her life. Those things were great gifts. But they were not worth money. Anna looked about and she stared at the countless possibilities. Of course Jinx would help her out. Anna knew absolutely nothing about style or anything for the matter.

“Thank you Jinx.”

Her purple hair fell over her face to cover her same colored eyes. Who was Lisa exactly? Well, Lisa grew up on Cactaylisma. Lisa, the one before them. But this Lisa had long since expired. She grinned when she knew she could not be seen.

This body is serving its purpose. The android is confused. This will be interesting. All I’d like to do is just watch and see what she does with the Cabiri. My children are restless. They will find out any means to satisfy me. They better not disappoint either. Hrm, I wonder if they’ll use me and Jinx at some point. Maybe, I should spice the game up a bit. We can do that much later.

“Hey guys. I’m fine with my expenses. I have this student loan. I might as well use the money I owe like 20% more back later on.” Lisa stood up and she flashed her own card. “But not as much money as a certain someone.” She looked over towards Jinx and she giggled. She did not think that she told Anna completely about her life and Lisa was not going to just spoil it so she placed her finger over her own mouth.

“But that isn’t my place to talk about.” She jumped off the bed. “Yup, I am going to buy this one.”

Jinx’s gaze drifted back to Lisa, almost completely forgetting her short conversation with Anna. Dark crimson crept high into her cheeks at the remark about money. Startled eyes locked on the girl with deadly concentration. As much money as a certain someone? How could she know? Was it even possible? No.. No it wasn’t possible.

Jinx glanced away, shuffling her hands into her pocket. She was sure the girl was no older than herself, and no one knew where she was except for Mother.. In fact, no one even knew her last name at this campus yet, save the lady in the office. Golden eyes turned rich and dark ember color almost. Who was Lisa to act as if she knew of her family? It made no sense. Trying to shake off the sudden wave of weariness Jinx turned to an employee of the shop.

“You there, yes you, come here.” She waited for the man to walk over and began to hand him lists of items that she had chosen. “Here now, I want all of these wrapped up and delivered to this address on campus. I also want anything that my friend here would like as well.” She pointed to Anna. “And if she should get shy and clam up, ask her favorite color and deliver a second of everything listed in that shade as well.”

After glancing around as if to see if anything else was needed, she glanced quietly toward Lisa. I would not do for Sergeant Major Washita to find her, not that she believed Lisa could manage to pull that little bit off, at least that’s what she told herself. She looped arms with Anna and offered a light, forced smile. “Are you ladies ready to go? We have to hit a marketplace for cookware and a clothing store for some outfits, and if we find one on the way back a nursery for some flowers and seeds that may help liven up the home.”

Anna looked about and she found the easy way out. “Y-Yes, my favorite color is yellow. I’d just like everything in yellow then.” That was easy. Too easy. It was so easy that Anna nearly fell over in exhaustion. She was worrying about how she would choose which colors or which style. Why not just be a copycat until she gained her own style? Yes! That was the easy way out and Anna felt foolish for stressing it so much. Her breathing, which had escalated over the fact that she was going to have to choose, simmered down. Jinx looped her arms with the two other girls and she smiled.

Anna smiled back and she nodded. “I’m ready,” she said. Another adventure! Another place to go to. Anna thought on it and she looked about in her Network for the closest and cheapest place. “I think I know of a good place to go to as well. Nice and cheap, but the quality is still really nice.” She was ready to go and once they moved, Anna would move as well

Lisa tightened the loop a bit with Jinx and she nodded. She looked to the employee and she handed her own list. Wait. When did she even make a list? Anna would not have remembered see it at all, but Anna would not be stressing it since she was all ‘Yay! Friendship!’. Lisa on the other hand was thinking of something else. Was she worried?

I wonder if Jinx knows how to at-least defend herself. It would come in handy when they attack. I’ll ask later. I’ll come up with some lame story about how I am part of the martial arts club. Hrm, that is actually a good idea. Yes! I will do that later. I love making up backstory!

“Yes! Let’s head to the marketplace then. That sounds like a heap of fun! Cookware? Wait,” Lisa stopped for a moment and a sweat drop appeared over her head.

I only know how to make weapons and stuff. Food? Oh god. I burned the hotdogs last week. Jinx must know how to cook. If not, we are doomed. I highly doubt Anna knows a damn thing about food.[i/]

“Jinx, do you know how to cook?”

Jinx smiled to Anna and started to head out when Lisa caught her attention. She nearly tripped and fell! She blinked staring at her curiously. What? Lisa looked like such a capable person in her eyes, and yet.. She cleared her throat cutting a side glance to Lisa as if it were that obvious.

“How to cook? Oh yes, I mean who doesn’t? Mo-..” She paused, thinking about Lisa’s earlier remark. How much did she know of her family? “Most definitely.. After all, no proper young miss would be so careless as to Not know! Where I grew up, all females were required to learn all sorts of styles of cooking. Not to brag, but I have won a couple championship cooking competitions..”

She lead the girls out of the store and glanced to Anna with a smile. “Where did you say the market was? I have a feeling we’re going to need the good stuff.. “ She laughed a bit. “Fire proof if they have it, which I some how doubt.. “ She pulled out her list and in big bold letters wrote down ‘FIRE EXTINGUISHER (x)2’. Looking from Anna to Lisa, Jinx nodded to herself. Yeah, two should be enough for a while. Come to think of it, both her roommates were so thin. Maybe she would be super nice and make them all a giant welcome home, glad you’re a roommate dinner of some kind. A roast sounded nice…

Food. Why did Lisa have to bring up food? Now Anna was a bit hungry. Good thing they were going for cookware next. Afterwards they would go shopping but why wait? No she was hungry. She needed to push Jinx into cooking a little earlier. “How about we test the cookware out before we actually go out and shop from attire? It would be better that way, especially since I am uhm,” she stopped as her stomach roared like a lion. Her face plastered itself with red swirling colors and she could hear Lisa’s laughter.

She heard the rumbling of the child’s stomach and she couldn’t help but laugh. This did not, however, stop her own stomach from growling as well. It was more than just a lion, it was some unknown beast which exploded and almost sounded as if it came from the wrong end of the equation. She had reddened even more than Anna had done, but she laughed it off a bit. “I guess we are a bit hungry. I don’t think I have had a decent meal in a while.”

When was the last time this body ate? Why did I have to take on a body that was hungry right off the bat. Grr…

Oh well, it would seem Anna had the right idea. Eat first then shop later. “Yes, I’m afraid that eating first would be ideal…”

Amusement assaulted Jinx as she listened to Anna’s and Lisa’s stomachs grumble, growl, and rumble their way into acknowledgement. She did her best to keep from laughing out loud, covering her mouth with one hand. With her best effort to keep a straight face she offered a smile and nodded. “Well then at least let us go to the marketplace for some cookware and groceries. Hopefully you two won’t evaporate from starvation before then, will you?”

They made their way into the market and Jinx pulled out her handy little list of items. “Hmm. First, we’ll need some pots and pans, pot holders, towels and things like that.. They should be right over.. Ah,ha!” She pointed across the store to where a sign listed the necessities. She made her way over to that department with buggy in tow.

“Oh, what a wonderful selection!” Within moments, Jinx had about half filled the cart. She found a high quality pot set that came with eight pots and matching lids. She also found about three or four nice frying pans of various sizes, including a wok. She’d grabbed a set of fancy looking crystal glasses and plates to match. Both included enough pieces to seat eight people. Along the way she’d found strainers, mixers, pitchers, and blenders! She found a sixteen piece silverware set that matched the crystal glasses perfectly in design.

Moving on to the smaller things she found serving spoons, spatulas, mixing utensils, serving plates, pot holders, dish towels, and just about anything else someone would need to cook in a kitchen. She even managed to find a crock pot and coffee maker that matched everything else. Clearly this was going to be a hefty haul! After she was fully satisfied that she’d gotten everything on her list she turned to the girls and grinned. “To the groceries! ...We may need a second cart…”

Jinx walked across the market, starting with the spice isle. Her eyes lit up and glistened at her choices. “Oh they all look so wonderful!” Beaming, she grabbed at least one spice bottle of each element on the shelves. It only took her a few moments to lead the way through. She’d gotten meats, cheeses, drinks and more! Any and everything she could think of to cook, she put in the cart. At the end of her mini shopping spree, she turned to the cleaning aisle where she gathered brooms, dustpans, dusters, cleaning sprays, dish detergent, etc.

Anna followed Jinx. Obviously they needed to get groceries before they could have her cook and this was something they could not avoid. She could not find the same exact joy that Jinx was finding in her search for things, but she was doing her best at helping her gather everything. Jinx looked like a mad woman to Anna as she dropped thing after thing into the cart. This was getting a bit insane, but it is what it is. They were definitely going to need a second cart.

And that was when Lisa came up with the next cart with blazing speeds. She was a lifesaver and she howled with an eccentric tone. “I am heeerrre to save the day~” she said and pulled up with the cart just in the nick of time. Whatever Jinx needed to fill in the last cart which had already filled itself, would fall right into that cart.”

[color#3366ff]Anna’s eye fell onto Lisa once again. The words she used early on still had weighed on her mind. It would seem Simon has yet to find anything on her through the other Network either. So she was a Ghost at the moment. Her brown eyes looked down as she tried to take her concentrations elsewhere. But she said to her to stay hidden. If she was really after her like the intruders were, wouldn’t she have attacked them both?

It was a strange thing to witness. They have been alone several times, and even though Anna had tried her best t avoid them being alone with Lisa, they ended up alone almost at forced chances. It was as if Lisa was showing her that she had no intentions of harming them. Was it to get Anna to trust her? What was really on this mysterious girl’s mind?

Cake. Cake. Cake! I hope Jinx makes a cake. I haven’t had a cake in years. I would love a vanilla cake with cream cheese icing. Oh the joy that will go through my heart! I’d totally love Jinx forever. No! Five ever!
This was pretty much all on Lisa’s mind at the time. It was unfortunate that Anna could not read minds. That posed a huge problem. Especially when she was being so suspicious of this girl. Lisa looked back to notice Anna was looking down and she grinned a little. She must be thinking about all of those times. Down the dark alleyways. The long paths underneath the bridge. All those times that an intruder could have come and attack them.

Lisa was showing her the dark spots in the intruder’s surveillance. But, she could not just up and tell her that now could she? Anna was a smart girl, she’d figure it out eventually. For now, Lisa was going back to her own head. She wanted to continue to dream of cake.

“Has the beacon finished production,” said a young man with long black hair. He was void of emotions at the time. His eyes were low and he had his hands in his pockets. He was wearing the school uniform that signaled that he was attending the same university as the girls. Next to him was another two guys. One had brown hair and the other had white hair. They all had the same look in their faces.

“This will be troublesome. We should make sure to display emotions around people. If we done, we will start to look suspicious. As for the beacon’s production, it is in the final stages. Once it is done and we activate it, it will interfere with the Network and she will see how easy it is to stop her creation. If that is not enough to scare her then we will input viruses, which the beacon will allow as well” That was the white haired male speaking.

“Good. That is what we need to happen. Our creator will not be pleased if we do not destroy this problem. She may even win his favor if she survives and completes this idea.”

“The child knows nothing about the real automaton universe. She thinks that Steel Legion is the worst. She probably believes that Red Ribbon is the worse. She has yet to meet Hephaestus.”

“When she does, she will understand that she can’t be who she wants to be.”

“No one who has created shall be eligible to be a creator.”

If only they knew how wrong they were.

After what seemed to be hours she was sure, Jinx turned looking at the two buggies now full of kitchen supplies. Nodding to her job well done, she smiled. “Alright! So, I think that just about covers it. Let me see..” She glanced down to her lists and the dozens of little check marks down the side. “Hm, yep! All set, let’s go!”

She turned away from the aisles and began walking up to the front counter, pushing one of the buggies and dragging the other behind her. On the way, she would notice little random items and add them to her haul. Finally at the check-out lines she frowned. “Oh this won’t do at all…” Glancing around she motioned for the attention of a manager. After briefly speaking with him, he guided the girls to an empty check-out line that he personally logged into to assist them. He’d even had someone come over to act as a bagger and loader.

About twenty to thirty minutes into the process, Jinx beamed at the man handing over her shiny little credit card. The man glanced down to the name and blinked several times. He cleared his throat as a nervous expression came over him. “M-Might I see a form of I.D. Miss?” Jinx glanced to Lisa from the corner of her eyes, wondering if she would have any more input on the mystery of who Jinx was. She flashed an identification card to the manager and quickly tucked it away again. Thanking her, the man quickly rang up the card and completed the transaction.

Jinx took her receipt and stared to the man long and hard. “I trust there is no issue?” He shook his head quickly. “Very good.Seeing as I have no personal vehicle here currently, is there some way to have these things delivered right now?” The man clasped his hands together and nodded. “Oh yes, Miss.. I’ll send your items over right away. Take care of it me’self I will.” Jinx nodded slightly and turned to walk out of the store.

Anna stared at the man as he spoke about delivering immediately. It was a deadly stare. It was one that really told a person that she was hungry and she was not going to be played with when it came to food. She was going to give this man no more than when she got home and she felt she would have to terminate him for his lack of purpose. She kept all this to herself though. She turned and followed Jinx out of the store. “What is next?”

”Maybe we should get comfortable. We still have homework to get to, or at-least I do anyway.” Lisa was the last one out. “So, Jinx.” It was time to ask instead of letting it soak into her head. “White cake. Cream Cheese icing. Can you do something like that?”

Homework was easy to Anna. She had already finished her homework. Anna actually was processing that as they were shopping. Lisa asked about cake. What a strange girl. Anna was sitting here thinking of the ways the girl would be thinking of killing Jinx and Anna, yet she just seemed so calm and collected. “I’m done with my homework. For the moment I am just hungry.

Jinx turned her head to glance back to Lisa and smiled brightly. “Can I ever! Actually, not only can I bake a simple cake like that, but I can make it multi-layered as well. What do you say to a white and red velvet cake with cream cheese icing? If you’d like, I could even decorate it with little slices of strawberry. Oh, it’s just the best!” She licked her lips, starting to feel a bit hungry herself.

“Yeah, my homework is complete, too. Anna and I were able to pretty much do it all in class. Though other than Simon’s, I have to admit the classes aren’t very hard or even interesting. This semester is going to be such a bore in the classroom at this rate, wouldn’t you agree?”

Jinx looked to Anna and smiled, walking back toward the direction of their little house. She may have looked younger than the rest of the class…but Jinx had a feeling Anna was a bright young girl. After all, how else does a fourteen year old get into university so early on?

After a bit of a walk across the campus, the girls finally returned home. Jinx grinned at the boxes of goods that had been stacked outside with a posted delivery note. Even the groceries had already been sent over by the store manager. She smirked to herself. Family had some perks after all..

”I don’t know,” Anna said as she heard Jinx speak of how boring it was. To her, she was enjoying this false life of hers. School. She knew that once she was done with her work, she would have no time to do school here, but she would definitely have to make sure plenty were opened in her alternate world. So far she was having so much fun. She made friends. Even if one is super suspicious. She looked down at a puddle of water and she saw a smile on her own face. Wow. That smile wasn’t forced at all. This was the power of a good wave of emotion.

How long would this last?

They will act soon. I just know it. It won’t be until our first trip. What place were we going to again? I believe it to be Kelioux. There. The Cabiri won’t hold back trying to separate them and attack.

There was still mystery to this girl, but she seemed to already know everything about the reason Anna hid. It would seem that the time from them to be relaxed is now over. The moment they leave Avalon is the moment everything begins to change.
