Earth simply didn’t know how to catch a break.

Orange Star City was burning, its buildings all but a memory and its residents either dead or on their way to. The orange glow of the fires reached the night sky, capable of being seen from all the neighboring villages and cities around. And the smoke that was billowing off the ragged corpse of a metropolis was thick enough to darken the moon itself.

Standing near the once proud center of the town was a man, draped in dark blue robes. He held a staff in one hand, a ruby fitted into the head of it. In the other, an ancient looking jar with its top missing. Ancient runes were etched into the clay in a language long forgotten, either heralding the contents or warning any possible trespassers of the dangers inside. Either way, it seems that the language had been ignored and the once-powerful magic item was now completely defused.

The sorcerer, a frail old man with a sick and toothless grin, seemed to be enjoying himself among the ruins. His pupil-less eyes moved to look at the creature he had unleashed, the hellspawn that was now his servant.

It resembled a man, despite the fact that a hellfire was burning deep in its gullet. The skin that covered its form was frail looking and thin, illuminated by the raging inferno beneath like a jack-o-lantern on Halloween. It had no eyes to speak off; only the slits where they should be. Underneath the lids were two more open flames that seemed to steam out of the eyes like they were made for ventilation. Its hands were clawed, black talons that were sharper than any man-made creation. And its teeth gnashed uncomfortably, the enamel cracked and splintered. It was the thing of nightmares.

It’s left had was wrapped around a poor biker’s neck, claws digging into the skin to keep him in place. It’s hand was gripping a woman’s face, keeping her down on the ground on her knees in agony. Both humans whimpered like kicked pups, the female beginning with the mystic staring at the scene. His only reply was his continued grin that only seemed to spread when the demon began to ravage them.

For the elbow down, the demon’s right arm began to boil. The skin seemed to melt away and was replaced by some unholy molten matter. The woman’s begging quickly changed into screaming as the super-heated hand began to burn into her face, causing steam to rise up out of it. The monster’s eyes seemed to narrow as it stared at the horrified man and then its mouth opened, creating a shriek that came from the very depths of Hell. Ash and molten tinder flew out of the demon’s throat and tore away at the now screaming man’s face, dissolving his flesh and hair in its power. His cries seemed to drown out the more his visage began to melt. His hair didn’t even have the capacity to catch flame; it simply dissolved with the rest of the human. As the hellspawn’s scream faded, it turned it’s attention to the sorcerer staring at it. Gone was the human male’s face, nearly seventy percent of his head completely vaporized. The woman that had been writhing in the fiery grip of the demon looked almost exactly the same, her attempts to fight or scream gone with her features.

The monster released its latest victims, causing them to fall to the ground. It stomped over to the man that had released it, a low rumble vibrating in its throat. Despite the help that he had given, this monstrosity wanted nothing more than to tear into his flesh and vaporize him along with the rest of his victims. But it couldn’t. As long as he held the jar, the control was completely his and this creature could do nothing more than bend its knee and follow his orders.

Never before had the once-great magician felt this powerful. He had entertained the masses for decades; using fake gimmicks and sleight of hand to awe and inspire children and adults alike. But his confidence had gotten the best of him and while attempting to recreate a dangerous stunt, he had been struck by a sudden explosion and blinded himself. The rest of his face had paid a hefty price as well, with his features heavily scarred and his teeth all but gone. It had been the end of his career and the end of his life as it was. He had been cast out and scorned by the everyday folk, left to die on the streets with no family, no money and no idolization. The repression had twisted his heart, made him angry and vengeful. And when the mysterious stranger had offered him a devil’s deal to get his revenge, he had taken it without even thinking. He never would know the person’s name or where they came from. He would never know that this thing had not only saved him from starvation but also from the clutches of the Steel Legion.

And, perhaps even worse, he would never know that it had cost him his soul.

Now he was stronger than he had ever dreamed. His vision transcended that of an ordinary human, his powers could manipulate the very fabric of time and life. And soon he would be the king of this charred world, with the mightiest of Hell’s demons at his beck and call. The very thought brought him joy and his sick grin was followed by hoarse laughter.

“Well my pet…” The sorcerer said as the monster stopped before him, its head bowing out of a begrudged respect. “New East City is only a couple miles from here. How about we pay a visit and see how the renovations are coming?”

The demon didn’t answer. Instead, the fire in its belly seemed to glow a brighter orange.

And that was all the answer he needed.

Meditation was not something that Chishan took part in very often nowadays.

He found that finding the internal peace and calm was much harder given everything that had happened. When he had first started training with Oboe on Damaskia, it was a great way of circulating his limited ki. He had forgotten everything, up to how to use his own energy. The elderly namekian had taken him under his wing and retaught him nearly everything concerning his ki and his martial arts. His natural ability (or at least the abilities he had learned in the army) had risen to the surface during his training and it wasn’t very long before he had mastered everything Oboe had taught him. It was enough to get him off of the planet and get him to Earth, where Roshi took over after the namekian.

The thought brought a small smile to his face. Oboe had fought for him, helped him even in death. Or whatever one could be called in a hell-dimension. It wasn’t necessarily ‘death’ in the strictest sense but…it also was not a place he could simply return from. His smile shrank away. Both he and Dilandra had sacrificed themselves to get Chishan out of Ruzataz’ kingdom and now they were forever trapped in it. Maybe there’s a way I can get them out of it. Perhaps I can create an inter-dimensional portal that will bring them back here. It sounds impossible but I won’t know unless I try, he wondered.

See? He wasn’t capable of clearing his mind anymore. Too many busy thoughts, poking into the silence to cause him worry. Even after he had put to rest all his despair over Matilda’s death and the countless number of enemies he had to kill during the war, other concerns still came through.

He sighed. He had to at least try. This was something a master had taught him and he had to honor that master by remembering where his strength came from. He wasn’t always as powerful as he was. Even now, as he sat in a rested power level that was about one percent of his true energy, he could still remember how it felt. Fighting against foes that had more techniques, more power, and more gumption than him.

Well, maybe not more gumption. He was one creative son of a bitch.

A loud bang echoed in his head. It took him a moment to realize that it wasn’t centralized in his head but in the outside world. His eyes opened slightly and another series of bangs hit his room’s door. Knocking, someone was knocking. He let air escape his nose, as if it was a concluding breath on his meditation session. He rose up from his position, legs unfolding themselves and he moved to the door. With a small wave of his hand on the digital panel, the metal door slid inside its resting place.

Before him stood his brother, a look of surprise on his face. “Hey.” He said quickly.

Chishan’s own brow furrowed. “Why do you look so surprised? You’re the one that knocked.”

“I know, I just didn’t think you would answer so fast. Generally it takes a minute or two.” He glanced around the room behind his older sibling. “What were you doing?”

The Saiyan Inferno shrugged. “Nothing important. What’s going on?”

The dark-haired saiyan’s eyes seemed to darken. “There’s something you should see on the bridge. An event happening on Earth. Come on, I’ll show you.”
That was a strange way of delivering him news. As Apio began walking down the hall, Chishan followed after his waving his door shut. He jogged to his side. “What is it?”

The younger brother kept his attention focused on the path ahead of him. “Orange Star City was attacked near midnight. Around one thirty in the morning, the entirety of the city had been wiped out.”

The captain nearly lost his step at the small bit of news. “Wiped out? Orange Star City is a large metropolis. It’s also one of the only remaining places that hadn’t been touched by the Steel Legion. What could have destroyed the entire thing in one night, not even an hour and a half?”

“Something powerful.” The younger brother said, glancing at Chishan. “Everyone is dead, Chish. There was an estimated two million civilians. A lot of them were refugees from other towns, survivors from the Legion’s destruction. Now they’re all…” His voice hardened near the end and his hands tightened into fists. “We’ve got to go down there and find out what is doing this. There’s a literal path of destruction leading towards New East City.”

The anger his brother felt seemed to boil up in the Saiyan Inferno as well, his own hands flexing as his emotions ran high. Before he could speak, they passed through the doorway to the bridge.

Jurok met them almost as soon as they entered. “Sir, we’ve got a lock on the source of this…ruination. The energy reading is…strange. It’s not a usual level of ki I’ve ever seen before. It bounces around and fades to static every so often. It seems like something more.”

Chishan’s eyes narrowed. He had dealt with many different energies in the universe that were completely separate from ki. One of the more prominent and powerful forces had been magic energy. It was highly volatile and obscured from mechanical readings. As he walked over to the scanner and looked at the numbers it was giving off, he knew almost immediately it was exactly that.

“It’s emanating strangely.” He said, pointing towards the radar. “These radars measure the ionization of our natural energies, which gives us the exact signature levels. Magic, which I think is what we’re looking at, is a buffer to that natural energy. It comes from an outside force and can’t be measured by our tech. But even then…there seems to be two outstanding powers here. This is a team, two people are working together to wipe out Orange Star.” He glanced at the map just above the radar, seeing the star on it that represented New East City.

“It looks like we do have to get down there. Now.”

"Oh what fresh hell is this?”

Monica stood on the tallest building in New East City, kneeling on the edge. Her dark eyes stared out towards the light in the night sky, watching the orange light flicker against the darkened fabric of the stars. She had seen that color before; she had watched the abyss above light up from the lapping flames of destruction. And whatever had caused it was heading her way.

She hissed between clenched teeth. "What the hell have I gotten myself into?” she muttered to herself. She rose into a standing position and brought her hand up to her ear, tapping the microphone’s on button.

"Crossbones here. I need details on what is coming.”

A tiny voice popped up in her ear.
Quote:

“Crossbones, we have no further intel on what is heading towards New East City. It is up to you to provide surveillance on the threat and report back to us. What finer details do you need?

"I need to know what kind of damn thing could wipe out Orange Star City. I need to know what force is now marching down New East City. And finally, I need to know why I am not given permission to kill the murderous son of a bitch.” As she spoke, she turned away from the sight of the fiery sky and looked in towards the city. Even now, she couldn’t help but think of all the men, women and children that were living in the metropolis. Incredible, given how easily she had murdered two of the citizens earlier this afternoon. But those were thugs, brutes that had wanted to hurt her. They didn’t deserve to live.

The innocent lives that would be lost when this force of nature struck…she couldn’t even comprehend.

Quote:

”Don’t forget your position, Crossbones. You are simply a watcher in this game. The chess pieces are moving to their designated spots and you will do well to stay out of their way. All we need is intelligence, not one less agent on our hands. You can’t help us if you’re dead.”

She sneered. There they went again, stating her importance as an asset above her importance as a human being. It had been a way of life for so long that she would’ve thought she would be over it by now. But with everything that had happened to her sister and the rest of her family during the Steel Legion’s occupation, she had come to a self-conscious about the important things in life. Even now, she wanted to grab the device out of her ear and stomp on it.

But she knew the rules. It wasn’t that easy to leave the organization. In fact, she had never heard of anyone leaving alive. No, once you were in…you were in.

She sighed. "I understand. I’ll report in once my info gathering is finished.”

Quote:

”Good. And be sure to get out as soon as you finish. We have another assignment already lined up for you.”

And with that, the communication cut out.

Great. Already three steps ahead of me. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, she carped. Her ki energy took hold of her shoulders and took her into the air, her black boots just barely hovering off the top of the building. She had her assignment and she had to follow through on it.

She soared down through the city sky, her eyes focused on the main road leading out of the city. Her blond hair whipped behind her as she flew at an enhanced velocity. When was the last time she had gotten her hair chopped? Probably back when she was a brunette. God that had been a bad time. She much preferred her natural color.

She hadn’t liked it when she was a kid. She hated it in fact. Her sister and she were separated by four years but their resemblance was remarkable. She was often referred to as “Tilda II” or “Little Tilda”. It had been infuriating, living in the shadow of her more remarkable sister. Tilda was the smart one, the pretty one, the popular one. She was perfect in so many ways and Monica had…not lived up to the image of her older sister. She rebelled, ignored school and joined sketchy groups of people. Hell, that was what had driven her to this organization. She didn’t need natural abilities; the organization unlocked powers within her that she never would have achieved naturally. Intelligence, combat mastery, manipulation of ki; all of it was at her fingertips as long as she used it for the organization. And Monica wanted nothing more than to prove that she could surpass her perfect older sibling.

But she was gone now and it had taken that loss to wake up the sisterly love that she had buried. Memories of their adventures as kids and their bond as family. It had been a hard pill to swallow. It still hurt even now.

She snapped out of her daydream and felt the warm rivulets of tears that had run down her cheeks. Flying and crying, what a pathetic sight. She quickly rubbed her face in her forearm and reaffirmed her gaze. The city limits were only yards away now.

She set down on yet another roof, ducking down and creeping over to the edge of the building like she had the last. Carefully she cocked her head up to look over the lip of the roof, her eyes focusing on the road before.

Chills dotted her skin with goose bumps as she saw the two figures approaching. One looked like a crazed old man, wielding a gem-laden staff and a bottle of some sort. He didn’t seem all that terrifying. But the…thing…that walked beside him was like something out of a nightmare. It looked human, minus the even-present fire that seemed to burn in its stomach. They walked beside one another, with the human grinning and the fire-being snarling. It was these two monsters that had wiped Orange Star City off the map. And now they were coming here to do the same.

She pressed a finger against the tiny button embedded under her skin at her temple. It activated the scanning program in her right eye, a synthetic tool that had been implanted when she was much younger. Immediately her vision blurred as the aiming reticules appeared out of thin air and locked onto the two approaching fiends. Signature bars began to bounce on the right side of her peripheral, indicating that the scans were being run. Now I just need to sit here and wait for the program to finish and then I can get the hell out of here…

But her night was about to get a lot more interesting. A bright flash blinded her and she reeled back, snarling as her eyes winced shut. She fell onto her back, feeling the gravel of the roof bite into her skin through her shirt. "What in the name of…” She hissed as she pushed off the ground and got back to her position. And her eyes widened a bit.

Two new figures had appeared, one literally surrounded by sparking electricity. Her mouth hung agape as the four figures stood across from one another. A flash of writing appeared in her vision and she glanced up at the reading, as her scans had immediately locked onto the new figures and begun analyzing. It hadn’t taken long to figure out one of them, given his fame and particular energy signature. And as she read the words, her teeth began to grind together and her muscles tightened.

Chishan.

The Saiyan Inferno
The lightning strike punched the ground with great purpose, sending tendrils of electricity dancing over the concrete. The shockwave from the hit was enough to stop the walking demon and sorcerer in their spots, the man’s sickly grin melting away for a moment. The fire-imbued monster seemed to take the sudden explosion offensively, a growl rumbling out of its gullet.

As the ball of golden light faded, two figures stood in their way. The one facing the demon, a black-haired man, was clad in full saiyan equipment; armor, boots and scouter. The other man, a blond, was dressed in relatively less clothing; consisting of a cream colored coat that covered his black tank top. His gauntlets were heavier looking than normal, layered in thick metal with sharp spikes poking out at the sides. Tiny sparks of the light show continued to flare around him, as if his energy was a thunderstorm incarnate. These two were apparently the last line of defense for New East City.

The sorcerer glanced at their waists, seeing the brown and gold tails wrapped around their midsections. His grin seemed to spread again. “Saiyans, eh? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. There are so many of your kind running around this planet now. It doesn’t matter though. You’ll all burn the same.” As if to punctuate the point, the demon next to him hissed.

“Well that’s just rude.” Apio said, crossing his arms over his chest and smirking. “It hasn’t even been five minutes and this old geezer is threatening us. I miss the old times; the villains used to monologue about their plans and how we could never stop them.”

Chishan didn’t smile but his eyebrow did rise as he glanced at his brother. “You and I have very different memories. I can’t recall once our enemies monologuing. Though there were plenty of times they said we couldn’t be able to stop them.”

The younger sibling rolled his eyes. “I didn’t mean literally. I was paraphrasing our meetings with the Sons of Faera. You take everything so seriously.”

“Not really.” Chishan said, letting a small smirk come across his face. “But an opportunity to drive you mad? You know I can’t pass that up.”

Now the sorcerer was confused, his blank eyes narrowed as he attempted to rationalize the scene playing out before him. “What is this? You make jests with one another in the face of death? Is this some sort of form of begging?”

Both saiyan brothers looked back to the magic man, their demeanors hardening. “No.” The Lightning Lord said. “If you know us as saiyans, you should know that a true saiyan warrior doesn’t beg.”

“We just don’t consider you two that much of a threat.” Apio said, shrugging his shoulders.

That infuriated the former magician. “Do you now see the power I control? Surely you must know what my demon has done if you’ve come running here. Orange Star City is nothing but a memory. The power of Hell is in my grasp and I’m going to make this world suffer with it. How dare you tone down my level of threat!” He spat at the duo.

“You think you control Hell?” The Saiyan Inferno snapped back, his lips parting to display his clenched teeth. “You don’t know what power you are attempting to trifle with. I’ve been to Hell; I’ve stood face to face with its king. I’ve seen horrors of two separate dimensions of everlasting inferno. And yet you claim to hone its power with one measly demon?!” The emerald eyes snapped to the thing, standing beside its master like a good little mutt. “It will take a lot more than that to convince me of your menace. So spare me your intimidation attempt and listen to my words. You have ten seconds to surrender yourself and to dispel that demon back to its rightful place in Hell. Or else we’ll take matters into our own hands.”

A solid three seconds passed of silence, which felt like minutes dragging on. But as the fourth second rolled up, the sorcerer began to chuckle. His laughter grew harder and louder the more the time began to tick away, until there was nothing but two seconds left.

As the time limit ran out, the manic man roared. “Please! Entertain me with your futile attempts! Demon, destroy these fools!”

The creature had been waiting patiently to receive the order to attack, practically salivating at the thought of killing these two upstarts. Now that its master had given the order, it roared a magma-laden screech that seemed to shake the ground. It lurched forward furiously, its arms already beginning to glow with unholy fire.

“You’ve made your choice.” Chishan said, his golden aura exploding around him. Beside him, his brother ascended to his False Super Saiyan form. “You get the wizard, I’ll handle this thing.”

“Got it.” His brother answered before launching himself into the air, curling around the rushing monster and making his way towards the grinning man.

The demon roared again as it came within the saiyan’s proximity. Chishan’s eyes narrowed as she saw the thing’s arm snap forward, an aggressive attempt to grab his face with his molten clutches. He quickly let his knees give out and dropped down towards the ground, falling into a crouching position. As the monster glanced down at him in fury, the saiyan snapped back up in a rising uppercut. His knuckles crashed into the soft spot under the chin, driving the creature into the air. It screeched, an odd mix of fury and pain, as it flipped around in the air. The super saiyan almost had a moment of pride in his strike until he saw the demon sprout wings from its shoulder blades and correct its wild flight. It snarled in his direction, lava dripping off of its teeth.

“Fine then.” He said and rocketed into the air to meet his foe.

Apio, on the other hand, was flying towards the sorcerer. The man only continued to grin as the saiyan approached him. The younger brother launched his arm forward, right to smash his fist into the man’s grinning mouth. But it would never hit its mark. A sound, not unlike a trumpet being blown, exploded in his ears as his gloved hand met a blue energy barrier. He snarled at the sound and pulled back, seeing the shimmering azure light flicker around the man.

“Hiding behind a shield, huh? I’m sure I can through that.” The saiyan said, his hand already beginning to glow.

The sorcerer chuckled. “Unlikely. This is a spell of that creature’s design, writhing with magical energy. I have my suspicions that it is to protect this jar and not me, but given that I have control of the jar, it must protect me as well.”

“You’ll excuse me if I don’t believe you.” Apio said as he pushed his hand forward, unleashing a twin set of energy beams towards the man. They curled to either side of him and then came scorching in. But the shield was still going strong and as the beams exploded, it flashed in its full strength and became nigh impossible to see through. Only after the smoke began to clear did the shield dissipate and the man appeared again, still grinning.

“You can fling yourself hopelessly against this creation, saiyan, but do not doubt its strength. As long as my creature lives, you will not be getting to me.”

Apio looked away from the man, to the battle that was going on in the sky. “As long as it lives, huh…”

The scuffle occurring in the sky was gaining intensity. The Saiyan Inferno was unleashing all hell upon the demon and it, in turn, was lashing back at him with vicious swipes and attempted grabs. Chishan ducked and waved through the monster’s hands, feeling the extreme heat emanating off the arms. He didn’t want any part of those things latching onto him and melting through his limited clothing.

The monster made a mad lunge for his head, both hands looking to grab his temples. He ducked under the grab and plunged his right knee into the thing’s stomach, almost immediately feeling the heat from its internal furnace. His hands wound together and he brought them down upon its back in a double hammer blow, knocking it down and away from him. As it began to recover, his right hand opened to reveal a bright yellow glow. Just as the creature’s head swiveled around to look up at him, he unleashed a torrent of energy blasts into it. Its body jerked back and forth as each attack exploded on contact, brandishing its gray skin with scorch marks. It screeched in pain as it was swallowed up in the smoke and fire.

Once the attack had ended, it continued to float in the sky, its wings beating furiously through the thick haze. The fire in its form seemed to dim for just a moment before flaring bright again, its rage pushing it forward. With one combined flap, the smoke began to swirl out of its vision.

And a blue light took its place.

It barely had any time to truly comprehend what the glow could be before it heard a loud yell. The chant had finished and the final exclamation of “Ha!” unleashed the powerful energy wave down towards the demonic creature. It began to roar but the Kamehameha wave struck it with great prejudice, wrapping the unholy thing over its head and driving it down towards the ground. As the ki beam met the asphalt of the road, it ignited in a tremendous explosion.

Bits and pieces of the ground, both road and dirt alike, flew in every direction as the shockwave created a tremendous wave of air. Chishan’s blond hair shook ever so slightly from the force and his arm naturally came up to cover his face from flying debris. It took a solid thirty seconds for the detonation to settle down and even when the blue globe had dissipated, the sound of its impact still echoed across the land. Chunks of earth fell from the sky as all eyes were focused in the center of the dust cloud.

The demon rose from the crater, snarling furiously. Its body was heavily burned and flaps of flesh had been completely burned off. The skin between the bones on tis wings had been singed, preventing it from flying anymore. Its movements were slow and hindered, a testament to its injuries and lack of energy.

But…it was still alive.

“That’s one tough son of a bitch…” He muttered, staring down at the creature. He had poured a good amount of his energy into that Kamehameha wave, hoping to completely annihilate it. He had to think of something else and fast.

Hey Chishan, that thing is protecting the wizard. Something about the jar he’s holding or something. We won’t be able to get to him unless we kill the demon, his brother’s voice echoed in his head.

Easier said than done. Its magic energy is outrageously strong. Even with all those injuries, it’s still capable of destroying this city. I’m going to have to try something else. And for it to work, I’ll need your help.

What do you need?

I need you to distract it for about a minute

He could almost hear his brother chuckle. We doing the same thing we did on the moon?

Chishan nodded, even though he knew Apio couldn’t see it. Exactly.

“No time like the present.” The younger brother said aloud and mentally, his golden aura whipping to life around him. He launched himself forward, yelling at the top of his lungs.

The sudden sound caught the demon by surprise, spinning around to look at the new approaching danger. But its vision was met with the fist of the saiyan, crashing into its face and sending it spiraling backwards. He quickly took off after it in attempt to keep it on the defensive.

Meanwhile, in the sky, Chishan’s right hand was posed above his head with his palm facing towards the sky. His eyes were closed, concentrating on pooling his energy into his palm. A faint blue color aura was outlining his form as his power continued to rise and a dim funnel of color was swirling into the center of his hand.

Down below, Apio was going to town on the bewildered demon. His fists flew as swift as passing gusts of wind, laying punches into the creature’s chest and face. It could do nothing more than take the attacks, the saiyan’s speed far too much to handle. After all, it had barely been able to keep up with Chishan when they were fighting. While Apio was much weaker than his older brother, he was pushing himself harder than ever before.

The Second-Class saiyan bent and unleashed a hard front punch to the beast’s stomach, rattling the inferno deep inside. It snarled furiously and raised its arm, ready to swipe at his face. But another uppercut crashed into its chin and sent it skyward once more.

And the scene played out just as the saiyans had planned it. The rainbow orb was now pulsing with intense energy in Chishan’s palm and his fingers bent in, taking hold of it. It seemed to melt into his skin and was replaced with a glowing, sparkling light. His eyes locked onto the flying monster and with a whipping motion of his arm, sent the Soul Punisher soaring through the air. The attack had dissolved into nothing more than a cloud of energetic dust but unseen, the blast was brimming with energy. It struck the creature in the back, bending it backwards like a ruler over one’s knee. It was screeching now, like a stuck pig, and its arms waved violently in the air. But as the seconds passed, its skin began to dissolve into the air like dust on the wind. The skin around its eyes melted into his skull and the fire inside its chest was extinguished. As the sorcerer watched in horror, his slave, his demon, faded into nothing but specks in the air.

His eyes flickered to the sudden movement in front of him. Apio, coiled like a snake and grinning like a cat, unleashed a hard right hood into the man’s cheek. With no shield to protect him, the strike hit true and the human was flung to the side like a rag doll. He crashed into the ground and slid a good twenty feet, his body limp and unmoving. All that power and it took one hard punch to knock him out cold.

“And stay down.” Apio said, spitting. His brother descended from the sky and landed behind him, panting slightly. The younger sibling turned to look at him. “Too much for you?”

Chishan chuckled. “Nah, just haven’t used that technique in a while. Forgot how much energy it draws from me. I’ll be fine. Let’s get that guy up and-…”

A loud ping rang in his ears, like a buzzer. But it wasn’t that. No, it was something more. He had experienced this before; a warning, a vision that appeared in his mind so fast that it simply just became knowledge. He spun around to face the incoming blast, his left arm coming forward. The pink ki ball crashed into his palm, energy sizzling against energy. He grunted as he felt the force pushing on it, willing it to crash into him. A sneak attack! With a ferocious roar, he yanked his arm to the side while clutching the blast with it, throwing it off to the side and into the air. He paid little mind to the attack now soaring into the night sky like a bright pink rocket; his attention was completely fixated on the woman that now stood yards away from him.

"Chishan!” She yelled, pointing at him.

“Who the hell are you?” He barked back, his aura beginning to flare around him. He couldn’t see her in the dark of the night, only seeing the pale blonde hair reflected by his own energy dispersal.

Her eyes narrowed. "I’m the woman that’s going to kill you!” She hissed, energy beginning to form in both of her hands. She was going to attack again…

Except Apio had already speedily teleported behind her, his arm near his chest. As he fully materialized, his prepared arm lashed forward in a vicious knife-hand. It crashed down into the crevice between her neck and her collar bone, cutting off the blood flow to her brain for a moment. She grunted from the strike and then her eyes rolled back into her head, resulting in her falling face first onto the street.

The Lightning Lord’s energy settled down and his aura dissipated again. He looked down at the crumpled body. Apio snapped a look at him. “What the hell did you do? Why is this woman trying to kill you?”

He shook his head as he approached. “I have no idea.” As he bent down over her, he looked at her outfit. Black leather jacket and pants, similar to a biker’s. Yet she can use ki energy… he wondered as he leaned forward and grabbed her shoulder. With a soft pull, he rolled her onto her back. And then he wheeled back, his eyes wide and his breath caught in his throat. No, it couldn’t be…

“Matilda?”
