“Damn, Turtle Hermit, how dare he send me to do his shopping for him? Doesn't he realize I have better things to do? I came to his island with the intention of studying under a legendary martial artist, - so far it's been nothing but do this, do that. And, worse he's a total perv spending the better part of the day leering over women doing aerobics exercises, or the bodies of his female student.” she complained, as a chill ran up her spine.

The Diclonius sighed exasperatedly; as she soared through the skies of planet Earth towards the hustle and bustle of the cities. She meanwhile was gazing down at the sparkle of the glittering ocean just below her. Kaede brought out a small scrap of paper, she glanced it over; sat upon it were various everyday household utility items. Kaede stashed the list back within her pocket as she touched down a short distance from the nearest village. It didn't take her too long to cover the distance and enter the village. Her leather clad steps carried her along it's streets, the sight of so many people going about their daily business was enough to steal her attention, she had not had the opportunity to experience such liberties after all.

Kaede hearing a loud commotion coming from the end of the street; had her curiosity peeked, she swiftly hastened her walk in that direction to find a small crowd was gathering. She wrestled her way to the front, her scarlet gaze finding a man whom was frantically running about the circle looking for aid. The expressions of the crowd clearly showed they thought him mad, but even Kaede was struggling to believe his rants of a dragon monster the size of West City attacking him and stealing everything he owned. There's just no way something that size could be real? This has gotta be a hoax. Still, her curiosity got the better of her, before she knew it she was stepping forwards in the circle; with hopes of meeting such a monster.

Shota turned just in time to crash into her chest; Kaede went crimson red as she shoved him backwards covering her chest with her arms. What is it with these perverted old men? She wondered, as the man was sent stumbling backwards, he quickly shook off his daze. The merchant focused his attention on the woman stood before him; his eyes sceptically ran up her delicate white flesh, to her ample chest where her karate gui resided a snort in amusement escaped him.

“Look, girlie, I appreciate your concern, but I don't think you can really help me with this. Why don't you go practice your cos-play somewhere they'd be more appreciative of it. West City for example.”

Kaede glared at him cold for his remark, she brought her palm to her forehead, then she dashed forwards at him and raising her leg she aimed a kick at his head flashing white for the world to see. She halted her foot inches from his noses but as she saw the twisted smile etch itself upon the old man's lips she she realized her mistake. A loud squeal escaped her, as she sharply pulled her kicking leg down followed by her skirt.

Shota offered a reassuring smile. “Calm down, I'm sorry you've proved yourself able. I apologize for my remark it's just I'm not used to female martial artist. Will you please still help me?”

She was still briefly stunned, and highly embarrassed before the eyes of the crowd.

“Yes, I'll still help you. First thing's first though what can you tell me of this monster?” she asked.

Shota’s breathing began to slow some as he walked with her over towards the nearby restaurant. He opened the door for her and they entered taking their seats in one of the many booths.

Kaede briefly pondered how best to start; she decided introductions were in order.

“My name is Kaede, I'm currently studying under the Turtle Hermit. I'm only a beginner martial artist really.“ she informed him, as she scratched the back of her scarlet locks despite herself.

Shota nodded slowly at her introduction. “I'm Shota, a travelling merchant, and one of the best - I'm a highly sought after guy.“ He declared proudly, while he supervised the menu critically.

“Go ahead Shota, please, tell me about the creature and where it is you were attacked.”

Shota gulped down from the freshly brought coke, breathing quickly as he looked upon Kaede. “It was just a few hours ago, we were heading on the road coming into town, about thirty miles from here. We had a truck at one time, but it broke down right after we left from our home.” Kaede nodded, while trying to paint a picture of this location.

“Then we heard some loud noise just within the trees. Then suddenly a large animal came after us, throwing my men in all directions, gathering up our goods and running off. If I wasn’t mistaken, it actually looks as if the creature came for the sole purpose of taking just the cargo. A few bumps, but other than that we are all fine.”

She nodded once more. “That is very odd, if a creature is rabid enough to attack someone, they wouldn’t bother with anything they would be carrying. Then it is decided, I will go after the creature and recover anything that I can. I will get to the bottom of this in no time.” Shota’s eyes lit up at the offer of help from the woman. “I want you to remain here for now, if this creature is as you say, then there is no telling what the dangers might be. I will return to you as soon as I can.” Laying a few bills onto the table she waved toward Shota, “Do not worry, I'll be sure to have you back selling your goods in no time.”

She headed towards the door, pressing her way out onto the streets. She reached her arms upwards towards the sky and over her head, as she stretched a satisfying cracking sensation moved down her spine. This was going to be fun, and rather taxing. She thought back on the words that had been said by Shota. Her hands dropping down to her sides once more, as she turned towards the road. That the merchant had most likely been coming from; she crouched down and quickly took off, using that heightened speed to rush through the crowds, leaving a few people stumbling to either side.

Kaede was quite confident that there were few humans that matched her in speed on Earth, and yet she knew she still had a long way to go. She breezed onto the open road and headed towards the place Shota had described to her. A cloud of dust in her wake, soon enough she was reaching the approximate location of the struggle. Tracks were strewn about as the creature had trampled upon the men and gobbled them up most likely. It was a miracle that Shota had survived really. Taking up the way of the tracks she grinned. It would not be long until she found such a clumsy animal, the trees were laid to either side practically paving a road to where the creature had gone.

Carefully at first she began down the path, then began to pick up speed, making sure the target was not too close. Once she made over the hill and saw the path reached further into the distance she took too a steady pace, not wanting to tire herself just yet. As she ran she pulled her gloves tighter, the wrap around her skin was slackened slightly allowing her crimson locks to billow out behind her. It had been some time since she'd last been in a fight, and she was eagerly looking forward to it, a broken smile etched itself upon her lips. As she wondered if this battle would enable her to reach new heights.

The sun was beginning to lower, signifying that the it was approaching the evening hours. Kaede was finally catching a scent of the creature now, it meant that it was close, really close. Slowing her pace she began to walk, climbing over the fallen trees and rocks until she finally caught sight of the creature. It was as Shota said, an oversized wolf. The creature had just entered into a cave where a voice was echoing out. “Come my pet, what did you bring me.” Kaede moved forwards, coming to the entrance. She briefly paused peering inside to see a man going through the missing belongings of Shota.

She cleared her throat loudly, the wolf turned towards her growling deeply. It came dashing forwards at her, then it quickly dived and forced her to swiftly sidestep it's jaws. The large animal hit the cave wall and was sent sliding along the ground to the outside of the cave. Kaede took her step toward the true culprit only to be grabbed by a set of powerful jaws. She howled in pain, or ecstasy as the beast dragged her out and threw her some distance.

Kaede hit the ground, and was sent rolling back and onto her feet, she grabbed the nearest boulder and tossed it at the Wolf. The Wolf leapt to the right and back to the left to evade it as it continued it's sprinting dash at her. It slammed it's forehead into her body. Mass of crimson departed her lips as she was thrown backwards. This creature was amazingly fast, and it only caused the experiment to grin, spinning, slamming her foot across the Wolf’s jaw. A whimper as the animal was kicked, instantly coming to its feet and jumping at her once more.

Bracing for it she caught the set of jaws in mid strike, holding them open as the creature tried to turn its head, working its best to finish its attack. She wrestled with the grip, muscles tense across those nearly bare arms. “My my, a strong little thing. How about you be a good boy and calm down. I just want the gear you stole back.” The Wolf growled in return. The female shook her head, bringing her knees up into the creature’s chest, and quickly turning tossing the wolf over her shoulder and into the ground.

The wolf remained still for a moment, Kaede sighed softly and moved over to where the creature lay. Kneeling down beside it. “I am sorry this had to happen, but perhaps without that man, you can actually just be a wolf.” She pulled from a pouch a chunk of meat and dropped it in front of the monster. Then she began towards the cave once more. She took the packages that she could, backpacks, containers, whatever she could fit into her arms.

Suddenly she felt an icy breath upon her neck, her gaze slid across the stone walls and onto the wolf only inches behind her. She blinked some, this was not good… The animal yelped at her and took a few steps closer, taking a few of the packages into it's mouth as if to aid her in carrying the belongings. She let go a deep sigh of relief, grinning. “See, you aren’t some monster at all.” Smiling softly again she stood up and headed back towards the city. The large wolf followed closely behind her, and then moved up to her side. Kaede placed her hand into the dark mass of fur upon the creature, rubbing its head softly.

The sun was setting into the distance as Kaede walked side by side with the villagers monster, she chuckled softly as she climbed over top of the side laid trees. Eventually making it to the road, wow she did not expect them to have so much. A thirty mile walk was indeed hard, but she simply chalked up to some needed training. Kaede looked to the wolf and grinned. “I’ll race you!” With that she sprung forward with all her grace, careful to not drop anything and headed in a quickened pace towards the lights of the darkened village to claim her reward.
