Nail flew over the ocean, heading toward Roshi’s island. He had been summoned to complete the master’s trial as he had evidently shown promise. He pulled to a stop and dropped from the sky, landing gently on the island and taking a step toward the door. Master Roshi stepped out through his doorway, “Nail, welcome back. Today I will send you on a task, along with two of your fellow students. The three of you have shown great promise and it has come time to complete my trial,” Master Roshi said. “What is the task Master Roshi?” Nail asked with a bit excitement in his voice. “No point in explaining it more than once, wait for your fellow students to arrive and I will explain the trial,” Roshi responded dismissively. Nail nodded begrudgingly. He wanted to get to work as soon as possible; waiting for others to arrive was always aggravating for him. Patience was definitely not one of his virtues. Nail stepped over to the boulder sitting on the island and took a seat atop it. He closed his eyes, crossed his legs, and began a meditation session waiting for his colleagues to arrive. His breathing settled into a slow deep pattern. This was really the only way he knew to keep still long enough to be patient. Hopefully they wouldn’t be too long. Nail WC: 225 |

Kage hung in the air some distance above Master Roshis island, having also flown out over the ocean to reach the location. He was looking down on the scene, having also been called out to experience the Master's trial. Roshi hadn't mentioned anything to him about having help, but the android had arrived anyway. He figured even if the trial meant he would have to fight Roshi the least he could do was give it a good effort. Kage dropped from the sky, coming down on the island and landing easily with his legs bent and hands placed firmly against the ground. He stood up straight quickly and gave an upward nod of his head to Roshi. Kage was a new student. Roshi spoke to Kage. "Ah, there you are Kage. We're still waiting for another right now, so get comfortable. The Namekian over there is called Nail, you may want to introduce yourself to him when he is done with his meditation." The android Kage turned his attention onto the meditatiing Namek, and nodded his head. He initiated his built in scouter, peeking at the green aliens power level. He was impressed enough. "Very good." Kage commented and looked back to Roshi. "Thank you for calling me out today, I'll just be over there awaiting instruction from you, Master." The robot turned and walked away from Roshi and took a cautious approach of Nail. He only closed in on the Namek so much and didn't say anything, not wanting to interrupt him if he was still meditating. Kage simply stood there and with his arms folded and waited for now, either for Nail to speak to him or for Roshi to call them over. The old man had mentioned something about waiting for another still, but Kage was in no serious rush this day. (WC: 305) |

Turles found himself in the middle of a vast stretch of wasteland. It was all but pitch black with nothing but a crescent crimson moon to give any sort of light. There was naught but cracked dirt for miles in all directions. He found himself wandering, walking slowly with no idea where he was going or why. 'Where am I?' the saiyan warrior thought to himself as he continued moving. 'And how did I get here?' the thought continued as he looked around. "You're here because I will it so, Turles" boomed a voice that seemed to echo inside the saiyan's mind. "Surely you haven't forgotten about me!" "You!" Turles shouted out as he still found himself alone in the vast wastelands of an unknown world. "Who are you? Where have you brought me and why?" the saiyan demanded as he prepared to defend himself should the need arise. The voice chuckled "As I've stated before, you'll know soon enough who I am. I simply felt you needed a reminder that I've not forgotten about you. For now, continue to grow in strength. You'll seek me out when the time is right, whether you realize it or not." the voice boomed once more. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Turles awoke suddenly, finding himself once more in the home of his current master. He shook his head, trying to clear his mind of the dream he'd just experienced. After a couple minutes, he rose and made his way down the stairs to see Nail in a meditative stance and another individual, likely another of Roshi's many students. "Ah, Turles. Finally awake, are you? Excellent. With the three of you here, we can begin the trial I have planned for you." Turles nodded at the old master before him and rubbed the sleepiness from his eyes. "Certainly. What did you have in mind?" Turles asked the elderly warrior. WC 312 Turles's WC 312 TWC 842 |

Nail lifted his head as he heard the footsteps approach. “Hello, I am Nail. Glad to have met you,” Nail said, lifting his head and eyelids to gaze upon the newcomer. Nail saw a medium height humanoid and looked him up and down. He seemed to be wearing some kind of dark grey material with a mask and hood over most of his face. Only his eyes were visible, and they were quite harsh. Nail wasn’t quite sure what this would mean in the future, but for now he knew he had to work with him. Nodding and extending his legs beneath himself Nail raised to his feet, looking over toward Turles as he stepped toward Master Roshi. “Well let’s get this started shall we?” said Master Roshi as he waddled toward the group. “Inside my house all three of you will find a weighted turtle shell. You are each to wear the shell as you climb Korin’s tower to seek training from Kami, the master at the very top above the tower.” “Well that shouldn’t be too difficult,” Nail said matter of factly. “Not so fast. I said climb, not fly. Each of you will be tied to the other to force you to work together,” Master Roshi continued. “When you make it to meet with Kami your task will be complete. Enjoy the trip, very few have made the journey.” Nail nodded and walked into the home picking up a his turtle shell and securing it to his back. He then hefted the rope and stepped back outside. “Can we fly to the base of the tower?” Nail asked. Master Roshi nodded, “But remember, you cannot fly during the trial. Korin will know if you do not follow the guidelines.” Nail took off in the direction of Korin’s tower. Nail WC: 301/526 Total WC: 1143 |

"Hello Nail." Kage answered the Namekian. It was true, the android did not look particularly friendly. Though, to his own memory, he had not existed for very long now. The robot had yet to seriously behave in a way that would suggest he was capable of evil...and he'd like to think that he was not, but then again, who knew? In either case, hopefully Nail would not let the androids appearance get in the way of things here today. Kage gave the Namek and slight nod of his head before he turned his attentions back to their Master, Roshi. Kage listened, understanding the trial as Master Roshi explained it. The trial did not sound too difficult...Kage thought he should be capable of climbing Korins tower. Even with a heavy turtle shell on his back and a rope attatched. "You should not make things so easy, Master Roshi." Kage commented with a grin, though the expression was hidden beneath the cloth hiding the lower half of his face. Kage shrugged...this was not the first he had heard of Kami, the Namekian that supposedly had much to teach...but he had also heard that Kami only took in the most dedicated of students. Kage went on to continue speaking as he now regarded the Namek Nail again and then the other, Turles. "Very well then." He had already met Nail, but the android paused to introduce himself to Turles. "I am called Kage, nice to meet you." He spoke to the armored one. Kage was unfamiliar with Saiyans, and did not bother looking at this ones power level just then. He probably would at some point, though. From there, it would probably be off to the base of Korins Tower for the three of them. Kage quickly departed to go drag the tied together turtle shells out from Master Roshis house. (WC: 313/618) (Total WC: 1456) |

Turles looked upon the man before him. He didn't appear the friendly sort, though appearances can be deceiving. It certainly helped that he had stopped to politely introduce himself to the saiyan warrior. It was only proper that Turles do the same. "Likewise Kage, I am called Turles." replied the saiyan as he strapped the remaining turtle shell to his back. It wasn't terribly heavy, at least not for Turles. Still, Roshi had not been one to go particularly easy on his students. The saiyan suspected it was likely that the real task would arise upon meeting this Korin. Giving a final nod to his current master, he took off to keep up with his 2 cohorts, as he did not want to keep them waiting. After roughly an hour and a half of flight, he arrived at the base of a tower that seemed to rise upward into infinity. Though he'd not been on this planet very long, he'd yet to see a structure this massive anywhere on this planet, or ever for that matter. As he landed beside his fellow warriors, he took the middle part of the rope from Nail and tied it around his waist, which would work well in case either of the other two fell, though he didn't expect Nail would. Turning towards the new face, he handed him the remaining end of the rope so that he too could tie himself off. "Well, we may as well get started. Either of you can lead the climb. I expect I'll have little trouble catching either of you should you fall" Turles half joked as he took another quick look upon the massive tower before him. WC 281 Turles's WC 593 TWC 1707 |

Nail circled the tower once before dropping to the ground at its base. Looking up Nail could not see the top. He could however sense something up there… or more specifically someone. It must be Kami that he could sense at the top of the tower. It was an interesting sensation. It was almost like being on Namek and speaking with Guru through his telepathic link. He shifted the shell on his back, strapping it tight. He pulled a length of the rope around his waist and tied a climbing harness between his legs and around his waist pulling it tight. Thankfully the rope was pretty long, there was easily 50 meters of rope between each of them. Nail leapt up a short distance on the tower and began to climb, right hand up, right leg up, left hand up, left leg up. “Hurry up you two, we don’t have all day. If we all put in full effort we should reach the top pretty quick,” Nail said as he gained altitude. Nail reached the end of his rope and looked down, disappointed that they hadn’t yet started up the tower. “You guys going to get moving or should I just hang around here all day?” Nail yelled down from above. As the others began to climb Nail continued up the tower. A foot or two at a time he moved upward. At this pace he’d make the top by sunrise. He wanted to move faster, hopefully the others would be willing to help move things forward a bit faster. “If you want we could try swinging each other up by the rope. If Kage and I made it up to about the same level we could yank Turles up past us like a slingshot. We’d be able to make 50 metres every minute or so rather than about a third that pace if we just climb normally,” Nail shouted down from above, anchoring himself and turning his torso away from the tower. "Right." Kage stood at the base of Korin's tower. Already, he had taken his turtle shell over his back and tied off the rope at his waist. It was tied pretty firmly, and yes there was a good deal of slack. Kage was thinking that the three of them seemed capable enough, hopefully somebody accidentally falling would not be an issue. He thought back to what Master Roshi said about no flying and had to frown a little. Kage turned his head up to watch Nail begin ahead of him and Turles. "Well, it looks like you've got it." Kage took a jump from the ground and grabbed onto the tower, beginning to climb after Nail. For starters, it didn't seem that finding something to grab onto and continue climbing was going to be too difficult...but they were still basically at the very beginning of what looked like it could be a very long climb. Kage looked out away from the tower and then down to Turles. The ninja climbed a little more, taking a few small leaps, but each time he came up with a firm grip on the side of the tower and was able to pull himself up a little further. The android found himself wanting to zone out a little...figuring this would be something like a long car ride, even though...he had never been inside of a car even once, as far as his memory served him. "Master Roshi sure knows how to be difficult sometimes." Kage commented lowly to himself before he looked back up to the Namek and listened to his suggestion that they try to sling-shot Turles. It didn't sound like a bad idea. "Hm...well as long as none of us use our ability to fly, it should be alright." The android had some doubt about the fact that they were even being watched anyway...but you never knew. Kage sped up his climbing a little to pull himself up closer to Nail, stopping when he was about even with the Namekian on the side of the tower they were climbing. Kage looked back down to Turles to check if he was ready. If and when he was, he worked with Nail to try to pull and swing the Saiyan up over them. So far, the android still wasn't having an issue with holding on...and even if one of the three climbers was to slip hopefully the other two would be able to support him...having to start over now that they had made at least a little progress did seem annoying. The saiyan looked up at his two cohorts and nodded, signaling that he was ready. With that, the two launched him upward, jettisoning him as far ahead of Nail as the rope would allow. Following suit, Nail and Turles followed up by slinging Kage ahead of them. To complete the circle, Nail was launched upward, putting him back in front. This continued in a cycle for a few hours or so. There were a couple of mishaps, but every time someone began to fall, the other two easily caught him and relaunched. Before they knew it, the top of the tower was in sight. A fairly large ellipsoid structure stood atop with 4 large holes in the bottom. Clearly, it was intended that this tower be climbed. "Finally. Climbing this tower was starting to get dull. Hopefully this Korin will have a more interesting task ready for us." stated the saiyan warrior. With that, he focused his strength and launched the other two members of his group upward, their momentum carrying all three of them upward into one of the holes and safely into the room above. As he looked around, he noticed several large pots scattered about. There was an unusually small bed at one end of the room and a single doorway leading outside at the other. It appeared, however, that there was noone here to greet them. "Huh, just our luck. We must be too early. All that climbing and nobody's home." stated Turles as he untied the rope around his waist and began to stretch. "Oh, I wouldn't be too sure of that, young fighter." said a voice from outside. With that, an odd looking white cat standing on two of his legs and carrying a staff slightly bigger than himself walked in through the aforementioned doorway. WC 301 Turles's WC 894 TWC 2775 |

Nail reached down and yanked on the rope, hurling Turles up ahead of him in line. Rotating between Kage, Turles, and himself they swung up into the air catching a handhold and steadying themselves. This was much faster than slowly climbing one step at a time. As they reached the top there was no path to get up into the structure above. It looked like a giant bowl sitting atop the tower. Nail waited as Turles swung Kage and Nail upward through one of the four holes in the base of the giant bowl and riding the momentum. Nail landed and rolled across the floor inside the structure. It was an interesting room, several large clay jars, and a small pallet bed in one of the corners. A cat walking upright and holding a staff appeared and spoke softly in response to some comment Turles made. Nail wasn’t really paying attention but he heard the cat. “Oh, I wouldn't be too sure of that, young fighter,” the cat said. “Would you be Master Korin?” Nail asked “That I would lad, that I would. You must be Nail, Kami has been expecting you,” Korin said as he moved around the room, appraising each of them. “Well then which way should we go to meet with him?” Nail asked. Chuckling softly Korin replied, “Oh no, not yet. You must prove yourself worthy before we can move above to meet with Kami.” Nail stepped forward and removed his turtle shell as well as his rope harness. He adjusted his clothing as they had been bunched from the rope and strappings. He rotated his arms at the shoulder, after climbing all the way up here his arms were a bit tired. He stretched his legs as well to keep his muscles loose. “Well what is the test?” Nail asked, a bit of impatience creeping into his tone. “You have to get past me, naturally,” Korin said, grinning widely. Kage had pulled himself up over the ledge at what appeared to be the end of their climb as well. Well, that wasn't too bad...the upwards trip had not taken quite as long as he had thought it might, thanks to Nails thinking and then some cooperation. The ninja did not bother removing the turtle shell from his back yet, only blinking a few times at the appearance of a talking cat. This was Korin, apparently...and their new instructions seemed to be getting past him, unless Kages' ears were working incorrectly. "B-but...what if I don't want to hurt a kitty? ...A talking kitten though...are you some sort of creature from Hell, cat?" Kage questioned as he narrowed his eyes on what he was processing as a possible demon, but then the android relented. "No, of course not...Kami would not have that. My apologies." "..." Korin had only stared at Kage in quiet. Kage just looked away with a slightly exaggerated sigh. It seemed he emulated well for a robot. The three had beaten out the sunrise, but it would not be long now. Kage thought maybe he would just wait for that and let either Nails or Turles open combat with the talking cat if that was what they were really doing. He might join in on the fighting, he was just feeling reluctant to strike first. "How about we just wait until you have to take a nap, and then we can sneak by?" Kage questioned with some amusement. "You underestimate me so easily, I'm not surprised. It seems fitting for someone who appears to have no business with Kami anyway!" Korin commented. "Stupid cat!" Kage shouted, apparently having some quick second thoughts. He dashed forward from his stance near the ledge and quickly closed in on Korin, greeting him with a pair of quick blows, first swinging his left arm and punching the cat in the stomach once and then--once it seemed the cat had absorbed the blow fairly well--he swung again. Korin clung onto his hand this time though, and then scratched up the androids arm pretty good. "Demon!" Kage shook Korin away from his arm and then jumped backwards. The robot only had to power up his eye beams for a second before he fired a single Bionic Punisher at Korin. There was a small explosion and some smoke, Korins condition following the attack not being known for the moment. He was probably fine, right? Kage was annoyed anyway, he had a feeling Master Roshi was really having a good laugh at his expense right now. (Kage WC: 434/1486) (Total WC: 3523) |

The saiyan watched in amusement as his new cohort began to relentlessly attack the white feline. It seemed this creature was no ordinary cat as it shrugged off every attack as if it were nothing. Well, either that or his new friend, while surprisingly fast, might just be weak. 'This is a good opportunity' thought Turles to himself as he pushed a button on his scouter. It would've appeared extremely rude to stare at a new acquaintance while pushing buttons on a device, but with his new buddy preoccupied, he was unlikely to notice. The cat was surprisingly powerful, a power level of 10,000. Still, nothing that he and Nail couldn't handle. What was really shocking, however, was that this was the only reading the scouter gave. 'Impossible. The scouter must be malfunctioning. Surely there must be something to read from this man, as there's no way he could hide his power level in mid-combat. Unless....' thought Turles to himself. Before he could finish his through however, as eye beams shot from Kage's face and nailed the cat dead center. As the smoke cleared, Korin no longer stood in his earlier position. "Surprise!" the feline shouted as he kicked the saiyan in the head hard, knocking him to the ground. "How rude. You really should be focusing on helping your friends instead of staring at us fight, young fighter. Surely, you don't think that little of me." continued Korin as he carefully watched each student before him. Turles rose to his feet and spat a bit of blood from his mouth. "My apologies. I simply wanted to know how my new friend measured up. I'm ready to join into the fray now if it pleases you." stated the saiyan, the turtle shell still attached to his back. With that, he seemed to disappear and reappear behind the white cat, kicking him hard in the side from behind, knocking him into the wall, shaking a couple of nearby pots, but miraculously breaking none. Without a warning, he quickly pointed two fingers at the cat's midsection and fired off a small amber beam, hitting home, knocking him on his back. Korin withstood the attack fairly well, but clearly not as well as he withstood Kage's attacks. His fur was charred in the center, still smoking from the attack as he stood back up. "I think this cat has bitten off more than he can chew. What do you think Nail?" stated Turles as he kept a close eye on their opponent. WC 419 Turles's WC 1313 TWC 3942 |

Nail bowed toward Korin as he engaged with Kage. The two seemed to be enjoying themselves. Kage seemed a bit on edge, but Korin was more than happy to oblige him with a spar. He watched as Korin engaged Turles knocking him on his backside. The two sparred a bit and Turles fired an energy attack at the cat-man. Nail chuckled to himself, Korin had only instructed them to get by him. He strolled past the three fighters and moved toward the stairs leading upward. Nodding quietly to Korin he stepped forward and upward toward someplace he’d never been before. Upon reaching the top he looked about seeing a beautiful wide flat surface with trees and grass growing in small designated patches. As he approached what looked to be the central structure a small black skinned creature with large eyes and mouth stepped out with a small watering can and moved about the grounds tending the plants. Kami approached Nail from behind, “I see you’ve discovered the purpose of your test.” Nail spun around quickly seeing a tall slender and very old Namekian man standing behind him. “It was less me discovering and more them not quite understanding,” Nail said with a tone of astonishment. “Yes, I’m from the planet Namek,” Kami said with a smile. “That… is surprising. I was not aware many of us had left our planet, let alone survived,” Nail responded in disbelief. “I do not know how many have survived off our home world, but I am among them,” Kami said matter of factly. “So Master Roshi has seen fit to move you along to us has he?” he continued, sizing up Nail. “I hope to be worthy of the challenge Master Kami,” Nail said, bowing his head slightly. “No need to be so humble young man, I know you hunger for a challenge. You’ve shown that you are capable of overcoming a great deal more than your training would suggest,” Kami said rubbing his chin. Nail turned his head as he watched Turles and Kage approach the top of the steps, a bit worse for wear. Korin stood behind smiling. “Seems you brought friends,” Kami said with a smirk. “You all look very hungry, I will have Mr. Popo prepare a meal.” “We would appreciate your hospitality,” Nail said humbly. He followed Kami toward the main structure on the floating palace. It was a large building with many rooms. He was escorted to a dining hall with a large table and many chairs. He chose one carefully pulling it away from the table and taking a seat. The black skinned round man entered the room with several trays placing them on the table. This must be the Mr. Popo Kami spoke of, he was a diligent man it seemed. “Thank you Mr. Popo,” Kami said gesturing toward the food. “We will talk more when you have finished your meal and rested a while.” Nail WC: 486/1659 Total WC: 4428 |

Right. So it turned out Korin may have let them pass from the start, or at least, he let them pass once him and Turles had given him some fight. Kage watched Nail walk away. The robot stared at Korin for a moment before shaking his head and walking past him without a problem as well, aside from the cats laughter. Kage stood off to the side while Nail conversed with the other Namek, Kami. The android wasn't even totally sure if he would be training with the Namekian Master anytime too soon, if ever at all. But who knew. Kage frowned at the mention of food, not really being in the mood, as he almost never ate anything. Kage still had to lay down every now and then to "sleep," but food was not a requirement. Kage nodded once to Kamai and spoke to him: "Thank you for your kindness, Kami," and then the android moved to go sit down in front of all the provided food, figuring that even though he was not in much of a mood for food he would at least have something to drink. "Thank you for your help, Nail, and Turles." The robot spoke and nodded his head slightly. Now sitting in the main structure of Kami's Tower, Kage took a glass of water and sipped at it. He looked over to Nail, in silence at first, but then would question the Namek: "I'm guessing you will begin your training with Kami immediately, Nail? That is good for you...perhaps I will join you here as well as soon as I am able," Kage knew he was going to have to speak to the Namekian Master first, and perhaps prove himself. The android then shrugged once, and returned his attention back to the glass of water he had taken. Turles realized his mistake immediately as he watched Nail walk past Korin. The thought had occurred to him that Korin had meant what he said literally, but as a saiyan, it was difficult to resist a good fight. It certainly didn't help that he'd been clocked in the head by the strange feline. It was clear, however, that Korin would no longer let the two remaining fighters continue without a fight. After about ten minutes of trading blows and ki attacks with Korin, both sides somewhat battle worn, Korin shook his head and allowed the two fighters to pass. Without a word, Kage and Turles left through the doorway and headed upward to Kami's Lookout. Kami chuckled as he saw the two warriors emerge, but was hospitable enough. “Seems you brought friends,” Kami said with a smirk. “You all look very hungry, I will have Mr. Popo prepare a meal.” Turles graciously accepted his offer, as the only thing that could match his hunger for battle was, well, his hunger. After the fighters had eaten, Kami approached the saiyan fighter. "That was quite a show you and your friend put on down there. Were it just on that basis alone, I would not even consider training you at this time. However, I've heard much about you and Nail from Guru and he speaks highly of you both. Because of that, and that alone, I will allow you to train with me." the elderly namekian stated calmly. Turles bowed before Kami politely. "Thank you sir. I'll do my best to measure up to your expectations." the saiyan warrior stated as he yawned. "It seems you are quite worn out from your little scrap." Kami stated as he chuckled. "Go rest a while. You and Nail will begin training with me once you wake up." WC 281 Turles's WC 1594 TWC 5015 |
