Sense was an interesting tool. Yan could feel the little experiment’s energy with ease since she did not have it suppressed. He kept his concentration focused on it for a bit, before heading towards her, curious. There were distinct traits and characteristics that made Ariel’s energy Ariel’s and they were quite intriguing. It was something to explore further certainly~ But for now he had a cloak to return.

”Ariel~ Yan calls cheerfully as he entered the area she was likely sulking. She quite liked to sulk it seemed and after the last Tomoko mishap he quite hoped it was productive sulking. There was such a thing!

”I brought back your cloak,” he explains holding a neatly folded package. It was wrapped in a soft pink tissue paper and even had a bow. ”I might have gone to repair a rip though and ended up...doing a bit more,” he adds scratching his cheek. Inside the wrapped package was Ariel’s cloak but there had been a small rip in the hood that he had went to repair. Repairing clothes for Yan Cass was a bit of a challenge to his willpower to not do more than the few stitches needed and this had been one of those cases his willpower had failed. He had ended up removing the hood entirely, making a new one that could be attached or left behind, so to help her bad habits of always hiding under it. He also added a few more discreet pockets and then had pulled in the sleeves and length to Ariel’s new size so moving around would be most optimal. It looked quite nice and would definitely be a comfy fit and as to how he had figured out her exact sizes was potentially worth punching him over.

The sunlight was heavy and the suns rays were beating down upon the former Experiment's freshly dyed scarlet locks. She was sat upon the swing set at central park, as she rocked backwards and forwards with a sorrowful frown upon her lips. She had her fingers coiled tightly around the cold steel chain, she was gripping the chains so tightly that even her palms were starting to bleed. Ariel was staring down at the floor her crimson eyes failing to register anything of her surroundings except the sand that she was dragging up with the tips of her boots.

It was at that point that she heard the familiar voice of the red head calling to her, she gulped anxiously if he was here to gloat he was going to die. The former Experiment was rather stunned as he appeared before her offering her an oddly wrapped gift. She'd never seen such delicate wrapping before, but she still lacked experience with the gift concept. was this considered normal? Still without a word she extended her hands towards him to receive the gift. Ariel begun to tear at the toilet paper like a child getting their first present- in fact she was. The Institute had never been so kind to their guinea pigs. She took the cloak from the box and unravelled it from her fingers. He'd done this?! Why would he fix her cloak?

“You expect me to thank you?” she asked, as she removed her eyes from the floor~ from the sand. She met his eyes and raised an eyebrow at him. Just what did he want this time? Ariel's eyes returned to the cloak and the extra pockets. “F-Fine, thank you.” she declared, a little agitated but it was heartfelt. Ariel removed herself from the swings and threw her arms down the sleeves. She pulled the cloak tight to her chest. Yet, something was odd. The cloak it wasn't tight, doesn't that mean it was a good fit? The Experiment snapped back towards Yan's eyes a crazed grin crossing her cheeks.

“Yan... do you want to die? Where did you get my measurements?! ANSWER ME” she demanded.

Yan began to shake his head no at expecting a thank you when she offered one anyway. He smiled. He actually expected a scolding for ripping it to start after he’d promised to take care of it then any kind of thanks, but Ariel at heart was a sweet kid. She had her moments certainly of craziness but at heart! He pocketed his hands as she pulled on the cloak and waited for what he hoped would be more compliments but out came another moment. He grinned accidentally in his nervousness and easily removed his hands once more, one going to rub the back of his neck.

”A very good eye?” he offers meekly, knowing that would not help as it suggested just how much he might have been looking. He lifts his hands up in front of him in a please don’t hurt me manner. ”I used to make clothes for a while! It’s a designer eye not a lecher eye!” It wasn’t a complete lie. He was pretty sure it was both.

”Anyway~!” he starts, hoping to distract. ”You okay?” It was said in a genuine tone as he dropped his hands once more. He was of course curious, but there was a small amount of concern as well that he showed more clearly than his interest. Ariel’s response had been more dramatic, a childish response to a light scolding, but the core issues that led to it stood in the girl’s mind. He had noticed her raw hands and the state she’d been in when he first got there. Even if the rationale behind the emotion was lacking, the emotion itself was valid. If she wasn’t okay, she wasn’t okay. He wasn’t sure what he could do for her, if she even wanted anything from him but he was at her disposal.

Ariel stared at him expectantly as she awaited his answer, she was visibly trembling with rage at this point. The park was again filled with the hum of her ki-blade though Yan must have gotten used to it's sound by now- since he was so prone to bringing it out of her. Finally.. he answered yet it was such a lousy excuse for one with such cunning- she almost wondered if he wanted her to punish him. The Experiment sighed to herself, she didn't much feel like entertaining his tendencies at this exact moment; she had more pressing concerns.

“I'll be fine. It just bothered me a bit that she assumed I held Damaskia and the Shadowguard as highly as she does. Sure- they didn't produce me for some Experiment like these damned Earthlings. But, they aren't much better either- they still conscripted me for their war.. Death and Destruction.. that's all I'm good for... AHAHAHA.”

“Wait.” she declared, memories of the past flashing before her eyes. “That dragon. You didn't go off to face it with the rest of us did you?! How do you expect to help Tomoko or me when you can't even help yourself?!” she barked, as she flew back from him. She folded her arms over her chest going deep into thought. Come to think of it- he hadn't even tried to hit her that last time. “Hmm... tell you what. I'll give you my scouter no. so you can bug me anytime you want, even when I have my Ki Suppression on if you can land a hit on me- B-Before you ask though it's off of a night. I-I'm busy.”

Yan frowns a bit at her reasoning. She broke into a giggle fit and then stopped herself, going into another ramble and he blinked. He could almost see the faulty reason passing through her mind. No, he had not gone after the dragon. He had made himself useful in other ways. He had killed the thief on the ship when she had failed to, but he was content with her forgetting that. She didn’t need to remember another failure. Still, he was a lover not a fighter! She should understand that since the way he had first gotten her off him was to kiss her, and that had certainly worked if he recalled correctly, even if it blew up in his face for weeks after. Consequences alas. But he was a tactician, and the information he got from the shadow guard was much more useful than seeing him swatted like a fly by good ol’ Auris as the much stronger Kaiya had been. People were useful in ways past their physical strength. There were other types of strengths. Ariel would learn that one day.

”Because Damaskia is important to her, she hopes it would be important to her partner,” he says simply and calmly, trailing back to the first point she made about Tomoko. She was a naive girl and while she focused on her hurt she did not even fathom that Tomoko could have been hurt by her. That her partner, her second in command, was only obsessed with her and did not care about her values or the things she wanted to protect...well then, maybe it was good the girl had attempted to resign. While Ariel thought she had no reason to care for Damaskia it should be quite simple that she had one prominent one. Tomoko cared about it.

”I can find you whenever I want scouter number aside,” he says after another moment, letting the words before sink in if they could. It was half a bluff half an over confident brag. He was confident he could find Ariel whenever he wanted even if she suppressed her energy to nothing. She was predictable, and he was, as she thought before, cunning. There were ways, there were eyes, especially on Earth.

”But I’ll let you pummel me a bit for another reward if you’d like,” he says, giving up a bit on explaining his usefulness outside his physical ability just then. He was sure telling her more than one serious thing at once would not get either through to her. The Tomoko subject was more important to him just then, he wasn’t quite sure why.

”If I get a hit, then I want you to answer one question in total honesty and detail~ In fact, I’ll train with you however long you want and you can toughen me up as long as the arrangement is as such: if I get a hit you answer honestly one question.” It was an odd arrangement to be sure, but he was curious and she was closed off. Even the little she did give was more in rants and ravings. He wanted to know about her properly, and it was one way to build trust. Well, it could certainly blow up in his face he was sure but~ It could be fun. ”How ‘bout it?”

The Experiment frowned and turned away at his retort, as if she hadn't seen that already. Still, it wouldn't change her own feelings. The Damaskians had conscripted her and then amongst the Shadowguard she was an outcast for lacking the Damaskian traits. And, then their was Marko~ her deceased combat trainer. She'd been manipulated by them for long enough. But,- it wasn't like she hadn't helped Tomoko~ It was just that she was motivated by other things.

Ariel smirked slightly at his claim; clearly he hadn't heard of her talents for stealth and skulking others. But, it bothered her little as he continued going on to accept her offer on the condition that she answer a question for him. The Experiment stared at him conceitedly. “They will be better questions then stuff like mine or Tomoko's measurements, I hope. Cause if not then just stay right their. I'll drive this sword through you and we can be done with it..” she told him, she half hoped she hadn't been wrong with her guess. She was still a little bothered by things.. Perhaps cutting Yan might help her feel better. No. That would definitely help- and it would help him too~ neither of them could make use of a soldier who didn't fight. Oh, I hope he can make this interesting for me. She thought, as she caressed the blade with the tips of her fingers. Yes. Yes. Fighting proved her existence- though she'd never return to the laboratory as their guinea pig again but nor would she turn into some tool for the Shadowguard. Now, her life was her own... and it was Tomoko's so she'd make sure everyone received training no matter the cost.

“Yes. That does sound reasonable. I guess~ but if I don't like one or two I can ignore them.” she added, she hoped Yan would understand that somethings were kept secret because they had to be. She was nineteen she was entitled to some secrets.

”Nope~” Yan says quickly in response to her ignoring a few. ”If I hit you must answer~ And honestly! If you don’t answer I’ll stop training with you immediately~ Deal is off,” he explains looking at her a bit stubbornly. He had a childish face that was easy to forget when his eyes got menacing but just then it was clear with his upturned chin and pursed lips how young he actually looked. His physical form was older, long past his teens, but he could easily fit into a middle school with his face and height and the childish expression on his face now did not help matters.

”I won’t ask anything perverse,” he adds slipping into a small grin, as if saying he definitely had better things to ask. Or maybe it was just he had better people to ask the perverted things. Tomoko would probably tell him for free with the right prodding, even giving him a flustered did I just say that face. He was kind of tempted thinking about it…But for Ariel! There were certainly things she might not be comfortable answering and he knew this training bit would end eventually with her refusal, but it would be a fun game to build up to that.

“Fine, b-but if I don't like the question we will have to drop it.” she told him, she hoped he'd understand that their were something's she had to keep secret. There were something's in her past that she just didn't want to talk about.. Yes, sometimes it was just best to try and forget and move on; even if you couldn't escape the memories. The former Experiment shrugged to herself though, if she could get him to become more able in combat then he can be of more use to her and Tomoko. And. A simple question, could it really be so bad?! Of course.. if he started to abuse her training or his questions then she'd have to punish him. Their was a possibility for accidents in combat.. He knew what she got like from their brief bout on Mortoseth.

“Okay.. don't die. This wont be fun if you do. And, nor would it be helpful.” she declared, she wondered if she should tell him something motivational.. but, he knew her well enough to know anything she did say would probably be forced. No. No. No. It would be best to see his natural instincts in action. The Experiment threw up a small smile as her arm came up. She'd test him first. The third generation's model arm came up to a ninety degree angle and at her palm a large blue orb began to form. He'd seen the attack numerous times before- and it wasn't like she was going to throw the two at him. She shot a single ball at him~ last time he came at her and tried to hug her. She hoped things would be different and that he'd take this more seriously. “If you strike a barrier though it doesn't count.” she added. It seemed the best way to get to Yan was trial and error so she'd not make this easy for him~ nor was she willing to divuldge all her secrets easily.
