(telepathic link, combat rune, champ lvl1) Levana wandered through her room aboard the Nightfall, checking the closets to make sure that she wouldn’t forget anything. Actually she checked everything for the third time already, she was quite sure she had everything by now, but for some reason she was stalling. After all this had been her home for a year now, who would have guessed? A little smile curled on her lips when she remembered the first weeks when she had just arrived here with these so called ‘space pirates’. They had a rough start, but in the end they weren’t that bad. And she would never forget that they had saved her life back then… Oh well, enough with the whining, it was time to move on. Certain things she had to face alone or at least that’s what she had told Seth and the others; that she finally needed to find out more about her past. They made her promise to keep in touch and to join them again in a while. She wasn’t sure if she would be able to keep that promise though. Lately the air had been closing in on her; she couldn’t let her new friends get any closer to her. So it was time to pack and leave, better sooner then later. She turned around and looked at the two boxes on her bed; one with stuff of the past year and one with some belongings from before the crash. “My whole life in two boxes,” she sighed. When she picked the old one up, something reflected a bright blue light. She frowned her eyebrows and opened the box to see what it was. In her hand she held a necklace with a bright blue gem. “Right, I’d forgotten all about that thing,” she said to herself. In the beginning she had stared at it for days, hoping to remember who had given it to her or why; a boyfriend or husband? Or her mother or grandmother? She never found out and after a while it was put it the box, together with other old clutter. It had been tucked away for so long that it was all dusty. With her sleeve she started to clean the precious stone until it was all shiny again. But the glow became brighter and brighter, until the whole room was fill in an explosion of bright light. Levana closed her eyes and turned away from the blinding gleam. When she opened her eyes again, she was no longer in her room aboard the spaceship. “What just happened?” she mumbled, “where am I?” And then it suddenly hit her. The diamond was actually a telepathy gem and this was the Astral realm. WC 448 |

The cold of winter seeped into the thick steel hull all around him. Azrael had taken to using the partially assembled war ship as his temporary home. After spending his time with the farmers family and then crashing with Master Roshi he decided that it was best for him to find a place of his own to stay. He had caused the farmer far too much trouble, and Roshi was a little much to take for so long. He lay on the cot that served as his temporary bed up until the interior work could begin. His eyes bored in to the ceiling, having a horrid time of getting any rest. A sudden surge of energy washed over his body, pulling within his chest. It was other worldly, every hair on his body suddenly standing on edge either adrenaline. He snapped up from his prone position, his eyes shooting off to his things where he felt that surge come from. It was such a strange sensation, familiar yet alien. A sense of both panic and wonder overcame him as he stood to make his way to the pile of discarded gear. A bright light suddenly flew in front of his face, stopping hum short of his objective. "Azrael...no," she pleaded at first. There was something to the look of fear on her face that made him wonder what she knew that he didn't. Whatever caused her to react in such a way he needed to know. He shook his head and showed her away befoee continuing his trudge. The small woman of light tried her hardest to pull back on him. "Don't! You're not ready for this!" she demanded. Still his feet brought him closer to his bag where the gem was held. "You don't know what this could do to you!" Sera cried. With a sudden intake of air he looked at his guardian. "I have to find out what this is." He thrust his hand into the satchel, grasping the gem and allowing it to pull him deep into the astral realm and toward the unknown caller. When he came to again he found himself standing on a vast expanse of rock under a midnight blue sky blanketed with bright white stars. He was garbed in his black cloth pants and shirt, his weighted cape draped about him. Hues of green and blue snaked across the sky like the strokes of some great brush, the Aurora Borealis. Something seemed familiar about this place, but he couldn't place it. With his new found ability to sense energy his emerald green eyes focused on the oddity and the source of the beckoning. Before him stood a woman whose features he could not make out. A black cloak wrapped about her and cast her features in shadow, but even then there was a strange sensation of memory. Who,could this mystery girl be? ---------- Wc: 483 Twc: 483 |

The bright blue light of the gem faded away and her feline eyes quickly adjusted to the dark of the night that surrounded her, and what she then saw was simply breath taking. Unfortunately she didn’t have much time to enjoy the view, as she immediately sensed a nearby presence. She turned her head and saw the silhouette of a man standing a few meters away. She couldn’t see his face, but she knew that he was staring at her. His aura seemed odd, differet then others she had met the last year. He was definitely not Saiyan, human or Namekian. She eliminated some other alien races as well. Though there was something that she had seen before; was he a Celestial? But the thing that disturbed her the most was his power level; he seemed at least twice as strong as she was. Automatically she became a bit more cautious, ready to flee or fight, depending how this encounter would turn out. She couldn’t help her eyes wondering off again to the beautiful shinning stars above them. The astral realm wasn’t real, but as far as she knew it was a project of someone’s thoughts, memory or subconscious. And this definitely didn’t come from her own mind, so it had to be his creation. She wondered where it was. Is this what heaven looks like? She turned her head back to the stranger. He was still standing there though; he didn’t really seemed to be a treat so far. Maybe she had to say something; just standing here was a bit weird maybe, though the silence didn’t actually bother her. “Well, this is interesting,” she said finally, “I don’t get to meet an angel everyday.” WC 286/734 |

His sudden appearance seemed to take the stranger by surprise. He felt like he could almost sense what she was feeling. She snapped her head in his direction, seemingly unsure if he was friend or foe. At the moment Azrael wasn't even certain what he was to her. He tried his hardest to decipher some detail about her, maybe an eye color or even a shape of her face. The hood of her cloak meant that his attempt was futile. The woman turned her attention back to the colors in the sky...had he created those? He felt like he had and it was something he had seen in a precious life time. Could it be that this figure had brought it out in him? Was that what Sera was so afraid of? He felt so strange, just staring at the stranger. But words were lost to him. He felt like a patron at a museum staring at a painting and trying to decipher it's meaning. When her voice finally broke the silence he felt like he was in a dream, like before he had woken from his coma and Seraphina was speaking to his subconscious. She called him an angel. "Angel," he whispered to himself. "Is that what I am?" He looked down at his hands, suddenly confused about what he was experiencing. He looked up at the woman again, studying her form. He took a few steps forward. "Who are you? Why did you call to me?" ------- Wc: 249 |

Though her feline ears were still covered by the hood of her cloak, she could easily understand his first whispering words. She slightly frowned her eyebrows and kept observing this odd stranger from a distance as she heard what he said. He doesn't know what he is? Then he must be even far more lost then she was. There was something in the tone of his whisper, some helplessness or maybe even a bit despair that made her feel sorry for him for a moment. His next sentence however came out stronger and this time he spoke to her instead of to himself. His tone sounded different now as well. She wasn't sure what to make of it. Was he a bit nervous or even slightly agitated? She ignored the first question of who she was and as he tried to approach her, she instinctively stepped backwards to keep the same distance between them. "I didn't call you," she replied to his second question, "Why would you think that? I don't know you." She thought about that for a moment; at least she assumed she didn't know him. If she did, there must have been something that triggered her memory right? Suddenly a dozen of vague images flashed before her eyes; men, women, even androids. People without names and without clearly visible faces. They were all warriors that she had met before in the astral realm, that she felt for sure. But still this celestials aura didn’t feel familiar. "I don't know how people are chosen or get linked to each other in the astral realm," she said honestly. The shadows that were surrounding them started to make her slightly nervous. It was weird to stand next to him and talk to him without seeing his face. She looked back at the horizon and imagined that the sun would rise to chase the darkness away. A couple of seconds later indeed the first sunbeams started to appear in the distance. WC 331/1065 |

The longer that he spent in this astral realm the more he felt the questions building within him. The strange part was that this was not the first time he had used that gem. Otherwise he may have assumed that the sensation was more to so with the mechanics of the transport and less to do with the company. But no, Seraphina had warned him not to accept this time. She had been concerned that there was something that could potentially upset him on the other side. It had to be something about the girl. Unfortunately, it seemed that she was just as clueless as he was. In fact, she seemed as if he was the only one experiencing nostalgia and confusion. When she heard his questions she seemed some what thrown off, her concern shorwig in the fact that she withdrew as he approached. She seemed to have no idea what he was going on about. She looked then to the horizon and a sudden light overcame the darkness, slowly bathing the area in warmth. Azrael closed his eyes and took a deep breath, feeling its warm embrace. The light chased off the shadow and with it illuminated beneath the hood that had shrouded the other's face. When he caught sight of her features any sense of relief he was feeling was chased away. His breath caught in his throat and a million bits of memory came flooding back into his mind. His pupils became like gaping caverns, his eyes shooting open as he stumbled back slightly. Suddenly he was no longer standing on the rocky terrain but inside of a ship. Blood streaked the walls and four bodies lay scattered about in awkward positions. When he looked down he noticed his hands dripped with the warmth of ichor. His breathing became panicked. He saw what he had done. What had happened. The sights overwhelmed him as he fell to his knees. His hands went to the sides of his head as the memories rushed in almost painfully. He could do no more than lean over in a heap as years of thoughts and experiences filled his brain. When it all ended he looked up at the no longer stranger, tears in his eyes. "I remember who I was, and I remember how I failed." He let go of his link to the astral plane, fleeing the place and returning to the world of the living a changed man. ----- Wc: 410 Twc:1000+ |
