The players had gathered, and the scene was set. Rem, or Majin Rem if you'd prefer, has been forcibly removed from the furnace and thrown neck deep into.... The Cauldron. For the last five months, after misplaying his hand and misjudging his nemesis, Rem has served as an enforcer and general thug for the Lord of Suicide Station, Siberius. Over those months with his mind and conscience unable to rationalize his actions, he was forced to withdraw more and more from the world around him- sinking into drink and depression. He had lost the Quixote, the last great warship of the Justice League, as well as the funds that still drew interest in the old JL accounts. Worst of all, the woman he loved and the men he had spent his lifetime training and adventuring with had been kidnapped and secreted away to an unknown location. They served as Hostages, forcing Rem to do the will of the evil son of a #++%# who ran this place under threat of their deaths. Rem had searched for people. Unable to sense them anywhere within the system, he was forced to admit that they must have been taken out of system where he could not find them. No one he talked to could tell him anything, and his searched turned up no clues or evidence as to their location. He had no options but to serve Siberius and hope. The situation had changed when an old friend, long thought dead with the rest of Rem's old JL compatriots, arrived in Cauldron's System and began demanding from everyone 'Where is Rem?' The Namekian avoided him for days, knowing that while Vash might mean well, he was bringing more danger to the Namekians cause than he could know. If certain people found out that 'Rem' might be anywhere NEAR cauldron, they would slash and burn until nothing remained but ghosts and ruin. Rem was forced to act, and followed Vash to a private location. There, he cut the head off of Siberius number one henchman, Barnak, and told Vash that he would be a hunted man as the blame would lie with him. Vash attacked, unable to contain his rage at finding Rem and yet being brushed off so casually and cruelly. They fought. The battle that followed nearly ended with the complete and final extinction of the Justice League. Rem had regained consciousness first, and after regenerating multiple limbs, had prepared to kill the fallen Vash- as it was the only way to ensure he shut up and stayed away from Rem, from endangering those Rem wanted to save. It was at that exact moment that the most unlikely of things happened. Paryl, Rems strongest student suddenly appeared within the ruined wreck of a warehouse that had served for the two fighters battle. Rem, extremely weak and unable to both heal Paryl AND instant transmit out of the dying asteroid broke down. In the end, he had given up. He couldn't bring himself to kill Vash and let Paryl die just to save himself, and continue a course of action that might be futile anyway. Rem had healed both fighters instead, giving everything he had to them. He knew that they would all die together in a fiery explosion as the asteroid drifted closer and closer to the sun, but had been unable or unwilling to do anything else. Vash had done the unexpected then, and had placed his hand on Rems forehead and burned an ancient symbol into it. Strange, unknown, and glorious power suddenly filled Rem. He used this power to save both of his friends, deciding that they would all stick together; come what may. Paryl revealed what he had known. The Namekians, including Jen, were being kept in an asteroid dungeon near the core of the planet. The core was giving off weird and powerful energy spikes that had caused Rem to be unable to sense his friends so very close. Paryl revealed that they had been forced to mine the core for its rare earth and other elements until it had been discovered that the core was becoming more and more unstable, and might soon explode if not stopped. Siberius, lord of Cauldron, had brought in scientists to work on the problem. However, a Saiyan Warlord who hated Siberius seems to have discovered the problem and is even now on his way with a fleet of warships, determined to cause the Core to explode, which would set off a chain of supernova that could potentially destroy half of the inhabited planets in Keliouxan controlled space. Rem and Vash had only been reunited for a short time, and already they were being thrust into a situation so like the ones they had faced in the past, together, as part of the Justice League. Was this fate? Or just a grand cosmic joke on the two former heroes who have fallen so low. 823//823//823 (out of 10,500) |

"How... did all of this happen?" Vash spoke aloud, although it was to no one. He sat on his bed, legs strewn dangling over the side back in his Siberius' funded apartment back on Suicide Station. It probably wasn't the brightest idea he had, returning to a place where he could easily be found, but Rem's dingy little hole wasn't big enough for everyone. But still, Vash had to return there in order to collect his belongings. Even if it meant running into Siberius or one of his goons along the way. His mind fluttered back to the heated battle he shared with Rem. The Namekian wasn't himself, Vash had proven that by gaining the upper hand early. Vash had no reason even being in that fight, Rem's power should have been much to great for him to overcome, even if he was distracted. But, there Vash was, landing blow after blow, his confidence building like a river rushing steadily down its path, uninhibited by anything that stood in its way. Just when he thought he had Rem on the ropes, Vash got too cocky. In one furious display of brute strength, speed, and cunning, Rem quickly turned the tide and put Vash in his place. Vash grit his teeth and clenched his fist in anger. How could he have allowed his hubris to blind him so? He should have seen it coming. He should have been able to stop it... "Weakness..." Vash whispered into the empty room. "I'm... I'm weak..." Vash's eyes shut as tight as they possibly could, fighting back the tears of desperation that were welling up inside. But, the curse mark... The majin ritual... He had planted it on Rem's forehead. Vash had never performed the ritual before, knowing all too well what it could mean. Rem and Vash, now bound by flesh towards the same destiny. It was like some kind of telepathic link between the two of them. A bond forged in flesh, and demonic magic. Sure, in this case, Vash was the master, but still... The power that Rem possessed... "I HAVE TO HAVE IT FOR MYSELF!!!" Vash screamed out into the still empty apartment. Or, at least he thought it was empty. Blinded by his own thoughts and the constant rage that was pounding in his heart, he didn't even sense the strong power levels that were approaching his door. Suddenly alerted to their presences, Vash's eyes darted towards the door, which had been locked with several devices. The locks provided barely any resistance at all as the door was smashed, ripping it from its hinges and sent flying across the room. Three shadowy figures appeared in the room, their faces hidden with black cloaks. "Vash! You are coming with us!" One of them had demanded. A sly smile stretched across the demon's face. "Sorry boys," he said with a confident chuckle. "I don't have time to play right now." Two fingers rose to Vash's forehead. He concentrated on Rem, it wasn't that hard since they shared the Majin bond now, and Vash disappeared from his own apartment for the last time, at least with his belongings in tact. Vash materialized in Rem's shitty little hole. Alcohol bottles clanged and sounded off one another as they scatted about the dingy apartment. "Jeez, Rem," Vash scoffed. "For as much as Siberius had to have been paying you, you couldn't afford some better digs?" He laughed at his joke, but the look on Rem's face quickly sucked the light mood from the room. Vash's face straightened out, and he looked the Namekian over. The Majin mark was still unfamiliar on his visage, the fresh obsidian M looking wet even, like a brand new tattoo still healing. The look on Rem's face said it all. There was still work to be done. Vash knew it as well. Eliminating Barnak was only the beginning, the first link in the chain of events had been broken. They had set things in motion that could not be stopped now. With the bond of the Majin curse mark in place, Vash could feel what Rem felt, know what Rem knew. It was strange. It wasn't like learning new memories, they were just already there, like he had experienced everything that Rem had experienced himself. It was overwhelming. Too much for him to try to seperate and organize in his own mind. But, the important things, the things that meant the most to Rem, but more importantly, the things that bothered Rem the most stood out prominently. Vash could see what had made Rem into what he is now. He felt the burden of the Namekian survivors on his shoulders. And, this Jen woman, Rem cared for her too. But, what does all of that have to do with me, Vash thought with a scowl. Absolutely nothing, other then the fact that even though Vash had unleashed the inner strength that had been hiding within Rem, these people, these memories were still going to be a hinderance until they were dealt with. But, the most troubling thing, was the demon's own life was now in danger. As long as they remained on Cauldron, and Rem certainly wouldn't leave until the Namekian problem had been dealt with, it was like standing on top of a time bomb. All of the careless mining and excavation at Cauldron's core had started a chain reaction, the minerals and energy that dwealt within was set to explode at almost any given time. Even though Siberius was aware of the problem, and even had begun to take certain measures to deal with it, the excavations continued. And, even worse, on top of all of that bullshit, a Saiyan warlord was on his way to speed up the process with a fleet of ships at his disposal. It really was amazing, this Majin information sharing bit. The two said nothing, but understood each other completely. The bond between the two warriors, although separated for so long, was now stronger than ever, even if one anothers motives were at opposite ends of the spectrum. This mess had to be dealt with, and sooner, rather than later. ------------------------- Deep within the darkest reaches of space, traveling along a hyperspace route, a Saiyan warship cruised along at insane speeds, hellbent on destruction. "Lord Kimor, sir," a soldier straightened up and saluted his superior as he entered the ships' bridge. "We are approaching the Ruins of Cauldron ahead of schedule, sir!" "Very good," a darkened, evil voice returned. The voice belonged to an incredibly muscular man, fit head to toe in Saiyan armor and accesories. A decorated badge of war medals clung to his chest, displaying his rank as well as his accomplishments. "Prepare to execute phase 1 of the attack," he went one, raising one hand casually to dismiss his underling, who promptly nodded and rushed back to his own command post in order to carry out his recently issued orders. ----------------------------- Back in Rem's apartment, Rem's eyes raised up and met with Vash's. "Do you feel that?" Rem asked. Images flashed through Vash's mind simultaneously. The Saiyan warship and its fleet had just entered the star system Cauldron was a part of. It was only a matter of time before the evil armada would be in range and begin their assault on Suicide Station, as well as what remained of the Ruins. "You know what we have to do, don't you?" The Namekian asked with an eager smile stretching across his face. Vash nodded in return, the same smile growing on his own visage. "I know you have something else to take care of first, so I'll go out to meet them first," the demon responded, eager to begin his fight. Paryl sat in a chair, looking incredibly confused. Rightfully so, Rem and Vash pretty much had an entire conversation without words, leaving the third wheel out of the equation. "What the hell are you two talking about? Meet them? Know what you have to do?" Paryl lashed out. Vash simply pointed to the M on Rem's forehead and shrugged his shoulders. It probably bothered Paryl that Vash had essential vaulted him in Rem's heirarchy of allies, but Vash didn't care. He was used to seeing jealousy in the face of others. Strength, fighting, these things had came easy to him for some time now. Although, that easiness seemed to result in over confidence, but that was besides the point. "Well, Paryl," Vash said with a bit of a condescending tone in his voice. Paryl was now what Vash used to be, Rem's apprentice. Been there, done that was the majority of how Vash felt about the situation. "I have to go out in to space," Vash informed the Namekian underling, still with the same sarcastic and condescending tone, talking down to him. It was sure to piss him off, but Vash didn't care. "Space is what is outside? With the stars? Get it? I have to go out into space and fight the bad guys before they kill all of us? Am I getting through to you?" The anger that Paryl was feeling was becoming visible, and it just made Vash chuckle. "Come to think of it, a little help might be nice. You are Rem's disciple, after all. I'm sure he must have taught you something you can do to defend yourself?" Vash pointed at him, furthering the condescending tone of his instructions. Paryl rose from the chair, fists clenched, ears steaming. "OF COURSE I CAN DEFEND MYSELF! REM DO I REALLY HAVE TO TAKE THIS BULLSHIT?!?!" Paryl lashed out, yelling at his master. Rem stood up from his sitting position and began to laugh as well. He and Vash met eyes. "Yeah, go ahead , Paryl. Go with Vash. I can see you two are going to get along quite nicely!" Rem began to laugh. "But, we're going out into space, how are we going to be able to breathe?" Paryl asked, bringing his finger up under his chin. "I'm waaaaay ahead of you on that one Parry," Vash poked fun, giving Paryl a new moniker, a teasing name. He produced three capsules from within his jacket, he tossed one to Paryl, and one to Rem. "For as soon as you are ready to come join us," Vash instructed to Majin Rem. Vash pressed the release button on the capsule, which in turn released a space suit. It was lightweight, and even lightly reinforced, doubling as armor. "Siberius had me oversee that mining operation at the warehouse that we... well... you know how that went," Vash informed the both of them. "I had a few of these lying around my apartment. I grabbed the #%%+ I needed before I left." Vash and Paryl each put on their space suits, and looked at Rem, not saying anything, but sharing a goodbye none the less. "Take your time dealing with your #%%+, Rem," Vash gave a thumbs up to his friend. "Me and Parry are going to have us a little fun!" With that, Vash reached his hand over and placed it on Paryl's shoulder, concentrated on the dark energy that was approaching quickly, and disappeared. ------------------------------ "Attention," Lord Kimor instructed over the loud speaker of his warship. "Prepare the pods for immediate departure! Our attack begins ---" "Sir!" A man breathing heavy appeared on the command deck, he had obviously come running as fast as he could. "What is the meaning of this intrusion?!" Lord Kimor asked, incredibly pissed off at being cut off from giving his orders. "Why have we stopped moving?" "Well, sir, something interesting has happened. Our scanners have picked up two life signals at the end of our hyperspace route, the exact location where we are supposed to come out!" The Saiyan underling informed his master. Lord Kimor appeared unimpressed, and annoyed at the same time. "So? Eliminate them, and carry out the mission." Kimor walked back over to the intercom and pressed the button. The speakers beeped, indiciating the transmission that was about to come through. "As I was saying, release the attack pods, our attack begins now!" ---------------------------- Moments before Lord Kimor's arrival with the Saiyan fleet: Vash and Paryl materialized out in space, seemingly out in the middle of nowhere. Paryl pushed Vash away almost as instantly as they had appeared in their current location, each one of them slowly drifting away from one another with the lack of gravity to hold them in place. Vash's body was the first to stop moving. "It's a little more difficult out here, Parry," Vash instructed, laughing a little bit at Paryl's relative inexperience to hanging out in the middle of space. Not that that was an uncommon thing, who the hell liked to hang out in zero gravity? Vash had just gotten used to the feeling from working under Siberius and the strange requests he often gave to Vash. He called them requests, but Vash knew they were more like demands. "You see, you have to use your own Ki to balance out your movements. Kind of like tiny little pulses that fire out at different angles from your body. They have to be subtle, otherwise..." Vash's instructional speech was cut off by Paryl whizzing by him at a quick speed, right in front of his eyes. A laugh escaped Vash's throat, and he pointed at the Namekian ward. "Well, yeah, that will happen. A little less power..." Vash instructed. It took a few moments, but it seemed Paryl got the hang of it. He wasn't carelessly flailing around any longer, and had maneuvered himself to come right next to Vash. The demon could tell by the look on Paryl's face that he wasn't exactly enthused with Vash's mocking, but he was helping him out after all, and the advice was appreciated. "Now, I don't know if you have ever tangled with Saiyans before..." Vash began. "But, knowing Rem, I'm sure you and him have gotten into a few hairy situations. Saiyans are a breed all their own, though. They are ruthless to the core, and will not stop until you are dead. You must be just as ruthless, you understand?" Paryl gulped, but nodded. Rem had been a good teacher to Paryl, that much was evident. Anyone who proved themselves worthy enough of Rem's tutelage had to be able to handle themselves, with the #%%+ that guy was capable of getting into. Quickly, images of past exploits that Vash and Rem had gotten themselves into flooded through his mind. There was a reason why Vash had been so drawn to him, why finding Rem had become a sort of obsession. The two made quite the formiddable pair together. He recounted a fight that had gotten way too far out of hand. Eight warriors that were fighting to the death. By some kind of miracle, they had escaped with their lives, but that outcome was not always a certainty. There were moments during that bout that Vash had doubted his own abilities, but, with the help and careful watch of his mentor, the pair had managed to escape with their lives intact. He could only assume that Paryl knew the feeling all too well. Rem had a habit of getting himself and the others around them in situations that were far too over their heads for comfort, but they always found a way to emerge victorious, at least on some levels. Suddenly, Vash moved into a defensive stance, his eyes narrowed on the blank, empty space before the two warriors. The ruins were barely visible behind them, a mere speck on the radar. The plan was to cut the Saiyans off before they had a chance to arrive. Vash just had to buy Rem enough time for him to finish whatever it was he was doing before he could join the demon and Paryl in the fight. His eyes quickly darted over to his new companion, who had settled into a similar stance. The nearby moon of Cauldron reflected a bit of light, and illuminated Paryl's face through his space helmet. Paryl, for whatever reason Vash couldn't exactly explain, looked unafraid. If he was afraid, he certainly wasn't showing it. He was ready for the battle to commence. Then, in a blink of an eye, the massive Saiyan warship appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Of course, Vash knew it hadn't just blipped into existence, rather just exitted the hyperspace route it had been traveling in. The sheer size of the warship was breath taking. To go from traveling at a speed faster than light itself, to a stand still... It was almost too much to handle. It hung in the middle of space like a massive whale taking a nap in the ocean. The blood red marking on the side of the hull indicated the Saiyan army. The ship itself was a monstrosity in the sea of space of which it swam. The stars in the background like holes punched out of a black blanket and held up to the light. The faint light of suns reflected off of far away planets, and bounced off of the ships hull, illuminating it in the darkness. "They are here," Vash grunted, his head turned away from Paryl to focus on the dangers ahead. A fleet of this size would have no problem running the pair of them over, but, Vash had a plan. He wasn't foolishly going to attack an entire armada with just himself and Paryl, that would have been a definite death sentence. No, he chuckled to himself, there was a plan. Vash lifted up a small pocket flap on the arm of his space suit, and a capsule slowly rose out of it in the zero gravity. Vash reached out with his other hand and snatched it out of its zero gravity levitation. He pressed the button and a strange looking box exploded into existence. "What... what is that?" Paryl asked, not taking his eyes off of the ship ahead of them. A smirk crossed Vash's face. "This is going to help buy us some time," Vash said as he grabbed a hold of the box. He pressed a few buttons on the side of it, and some numbers that meant absolutely nothing to Paryl showed up on the LCD display. The Namekian looked at the strange device, puzzled. Once Vash was set with his customization, he pressed a giant red button on the top of it, and launched it at the Saiyan warship. "So, we have a little welcome party, do we?" Lord Kimor asked rhetorically to his officers. No one dared respond to their overlord, for fear of a disciplinary repercussion for providing something that may offend him. "It's kind of insulting, only two of them... Let's show them a warm welcome!" "Sir, the warship's cannon's aren't built to nail targets that small, there's no chance we can hit them!" One of the officer's manning a radar screen informed Lord Kimor. The Saiyan overlord let out a sigh of discouragement. He shook his head. "Then send out an attack party! Siberius will pay for his insolence!" Kimor demanded of his crew, slamming an angry fist down on the arm rest of his command chair. ------------------------------- Vash and Paryl watched intently as the box that Vash had pushed towards the Saiyan warship moved towards its target. But, Vash knew, that the warship itself wasn't the target at all. The device began to glow, and then shot out a massive field of energy that enveloped the massive warship, along with Paryl and Vash themselves. "A Stasis... Field generator?" Paryl asked, eyes wide. "That's right," Vash nodded in return. "You and I alone aren't enough to halt their progress. Even if they decide to engage us, which, by the looks of things, is definitely going to happen, we need to buy more time. At least until Rem gets here. Then, things will really get interesting." Paryl nodded understandingly, and turned his attention back to the warship. Five Saiyan space pods shot out towards the pair of warriors, stopping a several dozen meters away. The doors opened, and five Saiyan warrior's equipped for space combat popped out of the crafts. "This is it, Parry," Vash said, beginning to channel energy, prepared to engage. "Ready yourself, show me what you are made of." Time seemed to stand still as the seven Saiyan warriors got themselves into an attack formation. "Well, boys," Vash called out to the attackers. "Five on two hardly seems fair. I should have expected nothing less from a group of monkeys!" "Those are some strong words from a couple of wimps that are out numbered!" The voice of the Saiyan had hacked into the comm system Vash had been using to communicate with Paryl. It wasn't all that difficult, since the comm system ran off of radio waves, but it was a nuisance none the less. It would make strategizing and coordinating an attack with Paryl that much more difficult. Vash's eyes darted over to Paryl for only the briefest of moments, before returning to the Saiyan attack squad before them. Rem had faith in this one, and even if deep down Paryl and Vash detested one another's existence and what each one stood for, they would have to work together for the time being. Their budding rivalry would have to be put on hold for now. Before anyone could make the first move, Vash took the honor upon himself. His figure moved so quickly, even in the zero gravity environment they were fighting in, he seemed to disappear from sight. He used his ki as a jetpack, propelling himself at an insane speed, and with a reverse karate chop, he sent the first Saiyan spiraling head over toe, bowling into the second. It would be a moment before they would get control of themselves and rejoin the fight, evening the odds a bit to three against two. "Perry!" Vash barked over the intercom. "You take the one on your left, and I'll take the other two until the others catch up. What are you waiting for? MOVE!" Paryl sprung into action, and Vash did the same. The space suit wearing demon didn't have time to keep an eye on his Namekian counterpart. He needed to concentrate on the two Saiyan before him, who had gotten enraged with Vash's quick momentary dismissal of their comrades. They charged forward, blasting energy bolts out of a pair of energy rifles. It was hard to maneuver with no gravity to tether him down, but Vash did his best, and managed to dodge the first barage. The pair quickly reloaded their weapons, took aim, and fired off another set of rounds. Vash could tell right away that dodging wasn't going to be enough. They were learning to adjust to the new environment, their shots were more tuned. A ki barrier popped up around Vash and absorbed the blasts, they ran into his shield like bugs to a bug zapper, causing tiny ripples to expand from their points of inpact. Lucky for Vash, he knew how to count. Remembering how many shots they had in their first magazine, the time to reload, and how many shots they fired in the second wave worked to his advantage. As soon as he counted the correct number of bullets, once again, the Saiyans began to reload their rifles. And it was over for them before they could even realize it. Vash channeled energy into each of his palms, and went in for the kill. Crack! A punch to the glass of the helmet of one of the Saiyans shattered his protective shield. His face instantly turned blue and began to swell. There was no air, and therefore, he couldn't breathe. His head continued to expand, until it popped like a water balloon. Bits of flesh and brain matter slowly drifted away from the empty helmet into the unhabitable space arena. His concentration on one of the Saiyans left him open for a counterattack from the other, and a kick to his backside pushed him away from the battle. Vash caught himself with a push of energy, and spun around, just in time to catch a secondary physical assault from his adversary. The demon raised his arm up, and brought his elbow down hard onto the Saiyan's forearm, shattering the bone within. The Saiyan screamed out in pain, but no sound could be heard because he wasn't using his comm. Vash could just see his mouth opening inside his helmet, and tears beginning to stream down his face. It was actually kind of a funny thing to witness. With the Saiyan incapacitated, Vash spun and delivered a kick to his opponent's midsection which sent him flying backwards, his arms and legs flailed out in front of him. Vash shook his head. Almost too easy, he thought to himself, as his arms instinctively went to one side of his body, and began charging energy. The ki wave he produced caught up to the Saiyan target and propelled him even faster against the restraints of the Stasis Field Generator. He was pinned. The demon continued to pour ki into the wave, pulverizing the helpless Saiyan until he disintegrated into nothingness. Vash turned to check on Paryl, who was more than holding his own against his own Saiyan opponent. But that was to be short lived, as the two Saiyan's Vash had pushed out of range of the fight were returning, and in a hurry, too. "Paryl! Look out!" Vash barked into the comm, but it was no use. There wasn't enough time to get there. Paryl was owning the Saiyan he had one on one, but there was no way he would have been able to handle three fully trained Saiyan warriors at one time! I have to hurry, Vash ordered himself, flying into the fray. He just, couldn't get there in time. Paryl had knocked the one he was fighting a way in order to give himself some room, but by the time he could turn around, it was too late. One of the incoming Saiyans got there first, and landed a blow to Paryl's midsection. The other maneuvered around to Paryl's backside and grabbed him by the arms, leaving him wide open for the barrage of physical attacks that was soon to follow. Vash was flying with all of his might. He even bypassed the tumbling Saiyan, ignoring him completely. If he let Rem's pupil get himself killed... Wait a second, Vash thought. Rem can't do %@++ to me right now, not with that curse mark allowing me to stop him at will. Still though, it wouldn't be wise to do anything to upset him. Or allow him to get upset. I have to save Paryl. Vash's body became engulfed in aura as he raced to Paryl's aid. He skull bashed the brute that way laying into Paryl's midsection, sending him flying out of the picture of the moment. The one holding Paryl still had released his hold, throwing Paryl to one side and staring Vash down. "Do you really think you can win?" The Saiyan spoke into Vash's ear through the comm system. "You have no idea just who it is you are dealing with, do you? Lord Kimor will wipe you off the face of existence like the %@++ stain that you are, and then continue on to blow what remains of Cauldron from the inside out! There's nothing you can do to-- ughhh!" While the Saiyan had gone on his little speech, Paryl had recovered his balance and went on the offensive, slamming a knee into the Saiyan's chest. Vash continued to watch as Paryl obviously got the hint from earlier, the Namekian reached out and grabbed a bit as much of the Saiyan's space suit as he could clutch, and tore it clean off. The Saiyan, try as he might to cover up the hole, couldn't do enough, and in turn, suffocated as the vaccuum of space sucked out what oxygen remained. Vash and Paryl turned in time to see the last two remaining Saiyan's reach each other. Two on one side, two on the other. The odd's were finally starting to even out. WC 4,718//4,718//5,541 |

The Super Namek
|
Minutes later Vash and Paryl left the Namekian alone in his apartment once more. They were heading directly to confront the Saiyans that were heading to destabilize the Cauldron core even further. That left Rem, on his own, to take on the forces that Siberius had within the core itself that would oppose him in his efforts to free a bunch of Namekians. Feeling quite randy with the new power had had available, Rem almost hoped a LOT of them got in his way. Rems Demon Friend and Namekian pupil didn’t seem to be getting along so well. Ah well. Let ‘em get it out of their system in a massive end of the world battle against overwhelming odds. That should do the trick. Deciding it was time to start focusing on what he himself had to do, Rem drew the rapier at his belt, then held a couple fingers to his head, and teleported into the distance. There was way too much electromagnetic such and such for him to be able to get an accurate lock on his people near the core, so he teleported into black space near the core itself. He needed to visually get his bearings on where to go. Trying to teleport inside a structure attached to the core straight away could leave him reappearing within a solid structure. That could be rather painful, he figured. Hanging out in the cold, dark, airless void of space for a half second while he took a look around would probably be less so. Soon enough, the Namekian caught sight of a closed airlock in the distance, and reappeared before it. With his powerful strength, he was able to spin the door lock completely into the open position in less than another second. Being careful not to rip it off its hinges, he took another second to step inside, and then slam it shut behind him, quickly spinning it until the red lights within the airlock chamber turned green, revealing that the sealing all around it were air tight. Shivering, and breathing deeply as air began to fill the chamber to pressurize it to balance it with the other side of the door Rem couldn’t help but grin and give a coughing laugh. “That didn’t suck at all.” Rem closed his eyes during the pressurization and began to concentrate. He played over the last few moments before he got inside, concentrating on details that he hadn’t been unable to, fighting to ensure his survival as he had been. The structure he was in seemed to be a sort of half circle, stretching part way around the core. It had spokes at various places that served as docks for vessels. There had been two ships docked, one of them a rather impressive looking yacht. He had no way of telling how many people were here, not with the electromagnetism blocking his abilities to sense and teleport. He had to assume that it would be clear of all the workers, leaving only scientists and soldiers here. “Alright,” Rem said, opening his eyes and speaking to himself. “Kill the guys in body armor, leave the ones in white coats. Not a problem at all.” It was just then that the pressurization stabilization finished, and the light in front of him also switched from red to green, like the one behind him had. “Time to play.” Rem announced, and kicked the door open with all his strength. Metal squealed as it tore against itself. The door shot out of its hinges and slammed into a wall across from it. Sure, he could have spent the few seconds needed to spin it open and leave it in place, but that seemed so anticlimactic. Rem waited another half heartbeat, then strode from the small chamber, into a cylindrical hall that stretched to both directions, slightly curving as it followed the curve of the core. Looking left, Rem saw two rather bookish fellows with wide eyes starring at him, then seeming to realize they didn’t want to be there, and scurry into a room together. The Namekian turned right. “Well, well…” Rem mused. “Now this is an unexpected reunion, Lord Siberius.” The Master of Suicide Station stood a hundred feet away. There were a dozen guards shuffling to put themselves between Rem and Siberius. Apparently, they didn’t think the Namekian was here to play nice. To be fair, he wasn’t. “Bang.” Rem said, causing a few of the soldiers who had heard the stories about what Sorreh had done to a bunch of Siberius’ henchman on his first day flinched. Twin beams of energy shot out of the Namekians eyes even as he said it. One beam sliced into the lower belly of a trooper who shuffled the wrong direction, and got in its path. The other passed him by, and as it was on a downward trajectory, ended up striking Siberius in his right leg. The alien grunted in pain, and started to fall backwards from sudden loss of balance. His tail caught him however, acting as a sort of tripod to keep him up. “Get Lord Siberius out of here!” One of the guards near the front yelled out. The warriors all began to shuffle then, moving either closer to Rem, or backing away with Siberius. “Oh, yes. Run. Run little piggy, run.” Rem laughed, and then leapt forward with a terrible speed. He was actually surprised when one of the guards managed to slam his hand into a release for a barrier that dropped down instantly. Rem stopped himself with a flash of counter balanced energy blast from his aura. That blast served to send the nearest troops flying back. Most of them managed to get blown free of the falling barrier in the instant before it fell. Most of them. Two ended up slamming directly into it with their backs, and one poor, unlucky son of a bitch ended up getting sliced cleanly into two gory pieces, one of which Rem could see from this side of the barrier. The Namekian strode forward, an annoyed expression on his face. He really hadn’t expected that. He knew there were sealing bulkheads on ships and space stations for emergency air pressure loss, he just hadn’t expected one to be implemented to slow him down. One of the two men who had survived being on this side of the wall stirred. Rem stopped before him, reached out, and twisted his head by its crown until the neck and brain stem snapped farther down. Looking to his right, Rem did the same to the unconscious man as well. “Fuckers.” He said simply, and then thrust both of them far down the corridor with a simple backward flick of either wrist. Next, he reached out with a toe, pressed it against the lower half of the man who had been bisected, and sent him sliding backwards when he thrust his leg back. “There, trash has been cleared.” Rem stepped away from the barrier then and raised one hand. There was no way he was going to let Siberius get away, not after everything. First, he was going to kill all of his guards, then he was going to start dismembering the icer, one body part at a time, until he expired. From his experience, he knew that Icers were pretty hard to kill. It was going to be a grand experiment. His raised hand began to glow with power, then shuttered out a powerful blast of energy. It slammed into the barrier just a few feet ahead of him… and BOUNCED BACK! Rem was forced to turn sideways and step against the wall as his own energy bounced off the wall, hit the ceiling above him, then the floor just beside him before continuing down the hall. “That’s…. actually impressive.” Rem said. Listening, he could hear the magnetic field that kept the door sealed. Magnetic power would be able to resist even the greatest depressurization acting against it. Apparently, it had been built with a mind to quality. 1342//2170//6883 |

Silence blew between the two sets of warriors, clad in their space suits. The vacuum of their astral arena provided most of that, but the fact that with team work, Vash and Paryl were able to dispatch of the Saiyan's comrades with relative easy had kept the two remaining speechless. "Do you smell that, Parry?" Vash asked his Namekian counterpart in heavy breaths over the comm link. The question was rhetorical, but was answered with a curious glance from Paryl. "It's fear. They thought they were going to swat us away like a couple of flies. Mere speed bumps in their path. But..." Vash's eyes wandered around to the still bodies of the fallen that hung in mid space like a couple of forgotten pool toys in stagnant water. "Look at what we've done!" The demons smile must have been visible from Suicide Station itself. Not only did they manage to wipe out a few elite class Saiyan warriors, but they managed to halt all progress of Lord Kimors flagship vessel. It hung in stasis behind them like the titanic itself beginning to sink, unable to make any sort of movement. Then, a chuckle began to sound over the comm link. Vash raised an eyebrow at his foes in curiosity. "Now, just what in the hell do you two think is so damn funny?" Vash demanded, beginning to grow a little irritated with their mockery. "Even if we can't kill you," one of the Saiyans had begun to explain. "Our real goal was to take out that stasis field generator. Which, while you've been too busy dealing with us, a few of our comrades are on their way to dispose of!" Vash's head turned back towards his force field device, only to confirm what he had just been informed of. Two Saiyan pods were already parked next to the device, with a couple of technicians working on disabling it. Shit! Vash cursed. He had to act quickly. He needed more time, rem needed more time... What do I do... Vash grit his teeth in frustration. Without so much as a warning to his partner, Vash grabbed a hold of paryl's arm and began to spin. Two complete rotations later, he had built up just enough momentum to launch Paryl at the stasis field generator. Vash would have gone himself, but feared he wouldn't make it in time. This way, they at least had a fighting chance. Rather than leave Paryl to fend for himself, Vash chased after him. The Namekian would at least but Vash some time to catch up. Time. It seemed like it was in short supply at the moment. Vash raced after Pary who, thanks to the extra boost, had caught up to the pair of Saiyans working on shutting down the stasis field generator. "Not so fast!" A raspy voice warned into Vash's ear piece. His eyes turned back to see a couple of glowing dots in his rear view. A barrage of energy blasts were rapidly approaching. Guess it's time for some evasive maneuvers, vash thought to himself with a grin that stretched from ear to eat. Just like getting into a dog fight in the valiant. That was the idea anyway. A hard barrel roll to his right at the last moment allowed the first wave to whiz by. The Saiyan pair were in hot pursuit and, without the necessity of having to dodge and dip around life threatening attacks, were actually starting to gain on Vash. Dammit... I'm not going to make it in time! He swore as he turned around sharply to face the oncoming threats. Hold them off, just a little longer Paryl! He thought as he began to charge up a retaliation. Energy blasts rained down upon the opposition like a hail storm. But, they weren't falling for it. They split apart like the pair of well trained fighters they were, forcing Vash to concentrate on one or the other. He had to hand it to the Saiyan species, they weren't exactly known for their smarts, but when it came to battle tactics, they were tough to beat. Just when Vash didn't think it could get any worse, Paryl's voice crackled in over the comm link. "Uhh... Vash?" The demon could hear the worried tone in his voice. "I think we are in trouble..." "What now?" He couldn't afford to take much time checking out whatever the hell it was Paryl was yapping about, the two Saiyans that we're chasing him were approaching rather quickly. Still though, if he let Paryl get himself killed, he wasn't even sure the majin curse mark would be enough to stop Rems wrath. He turned his head quickly, and his jaw nearly popped out of his helmet. While he had been concentrating on wiping out the remaining Saiyans, a whole nother wave of the ruthless brutes had been dispatched to their location. And they were coming in hot. "Goddamnit," Vash cursed out loud. "We just can't catch a break can we? I guess it can't be helped. Nobody said this was going to be easy. Dammit Rem, where the hell are you?" The four on two battle was about to become ten to two in a matter of seconds. I guess I don't have a choice here... Vash thought, reluctant for what was about to happen, however necessary it may be. "Well, well, well... What do we have here?" Aku's rusty chains rattled as he stirred from his sleep. It had been awhile since Vash had heard him speak. The telepathic bondage Vash had placed the Minotaur under had been working quite well. "What kind of a mess have you gotten yourself into now?" Aku's grin made Vash sick to his stomach. He hated himself for what he was about to do, but had little choice at this stage in the game. Wc 978/5696/7866 |

The Super Namek

The Namekian pursed his lips as he considered the barrier before him. Finally, he simply shrugged and strode forward. With a powerful thrust, he punched the middle of the extremely thick magnetized metal pressure locked door as hard as he could. It didn’t budge, but he did succeed in slamming a deep furrow where he connected. A few thousand more of those and he might start to get some where. Great. Even as he was considering his options, there was a sudden thrum that vibrated through the station. A light to the side caught his eye, and he moved to a viewport. There, he could see that the blasting rockets of the Yacht had been initiated. Apparently Siberius had made it back to his ship and he was leaving. Rem couldn’t hold back a feral growl, teeth fully bared. He really wanted to kill that son of a bitch. He calmed down with the promise that he would do it later. It wasn’t like Siberius was going anywhere for a while. The Saiyans were currently blocking the exit for the hyperspace route anyways, and Rem seriously doubted someone like Siberius would flee from his source of conceived protection and money. Later. He would deal with the man later. Now, however, he had to focus on what he had actually come here to do before getting sidetracked and distracted by the sight and knowledge of Siberius on the station. Rem turned away from the Magnetic Barrier. He wasn’t going to be able to get through it very fast anyway, and he had the entire other half of the station to check for his friends. He moved away, hurriedly speeding down the hall. The first door he came to was the one the two scientists he had seen earlier had disappeared into. Rem poked his head in, and saw them siting as far from the door as possible, obviously in fear of what he was going to do. “Get back to work, Cauldron is in danger;” he said simply, then moved on- obviously his people weren’t in that room. A dozen chambers later, Rem realized that his people were not being held on this structure. There were academics and scientists scattered all over it, working at various solutions to the problem at hand. He overheard two of the guys talking as he walked past; “The fact of the matter is that the damage has already been done. The power that took out Cauldron had nearly the same level of output as a Nova. The subsequent damage almost mirrored the effects of a Supernova. That level of energy in a destructive manner, combined with the mining effort of removing all but the hardest iron and nickle composite core has produced essentially a brute force equivalent of what happens when a star at the end of its life approaches novae status.” Rem moved on at that point. He grimaced at what he’d heard. While not a scientist by any means, he had more than the average level of intelligence. He could understand what the general effect of what was going to happen. Cauldron was going to explode, and in a vicious manner. What Rem didn’t know was how to stop it. With the science guys and such all around, Rem figured that the systems best chance at doing so was already here and at the task at hand. His number one goal was save his own people. The only problem being, they definitely weren’t on the station. The Namekian thought about everything he knew, everything that he had heard Paryl said. He recalled that Payrl had actually said that he didn’t know where the Namekians were being held. That they were being in something that almost resembled a dungeon. This place was too nice for something like that… Rem sighed, realizing what he had to do once again. This time, though, he was going to prepare. He threw his arms out to the side, instantly creating a barrier. It was full of oxygen. It would protect him for a while from the dangers of the space. A moment later, he disappeared from sight. He reappeared a hundred thousand miles away floating in nothing. Rem looked around, slowly rotating in a full circle, trying to spot what he might be looking for. Seconds passed. He saw quite a few asteroids, but the majority were just way too small to house over a hundred Namekians and Vagrils. There were others that were large enough, but they were spinning too rapidly. The internal gravity would be too high to support life. Finally, Rem grinned. There was a slow spinning asteroid not too far away from the station he had just left. It was large enough to house a large populace, and looked like a perfect candidate. Rem couldn’t pinpoint teleport this close to the core, so he started off. He fired himself off at the asteroid, eventually finding another air lock like the one on the ship. There was another a little distance away, much larger. It looked big enough for a ship, actually. A small one; perhaps a shuttle. Rems grin returned then. This was definitely the place. 862//3032//8724 |

The Super Namek

Rem moved over to the smaller of the two airlocks and began to spin the wheel for it to open. He stepped inside, relocked it, and waited for the air to cycle once more to balance the pressure on both sides. Soon enough the light turned green and he went on inside. It was dark, like, really dark. He found that curious. A moment later he had things to deal with other than his curiousity as something came whistling through the air. Rem ducked, not sure what it was. An instant later he was rolling along the ground. He honed in on wherever his attacker was coming from, spun, and lashed out with a powerful sweeping leg kick. A moment later there was an expulsion of air and the person dropped. Rem heard the sound of a weapon, metal, clanging against the ground. In the next instant he was on top of them, hand wrapping around their throat and lifting them off the ground. Rem was about to grip tight, to snap the fuckers neck when light returned. His eyes blinded for a moment, Rem heard a female voice screaming “ATTACK!” Rem could hear the sounds of feet moving all around him, dozens of them or more. All moving closer. Then…. “W..Wait…” Some of the feet stopped immediately, some continued on for a second or so longer. In the intervening time Rems eyes adjusted to the light change and he blinked them. He looked first at the person he was holding in the air, and a look of confusion crossed his face. He knew that face. Then, he looked around. All around him were green skinned people in burlap. Many of them had pipes, or shivs made out of pieces of metal. Others were unarmed, but had their fists extended with claws out. Then, Rem looked over a shoulder to the voice of the one who had been yelling at the others. Immediately, he dropped the Namekian in his arms, turned, and was slammed full force by the extremely thin, small female Namekian barreling into him. “Oh Kami’s, Jen…” Rem muttered, hands running along her head, gingerly caressing her antenna and the tops of her ears. “I found you.” “I knew you would.” She whispered back, holding onto him. Almost a minute passed, and for those who were gathered around the two it probably started to get awkward. At the end of that minute, he felt a small hand jab him in the gut. “Took you long enough, though. Where the hell have you been.” The two of them pushed away from one another then. She looked at her Namekian lover with a smile that slowly turned into a concerned frown. “What… is that?” She asked. Rem didn’t have to ask what she was talking about, her eyes were locked on his forehead. “We’ll talk about it later. I have to get you guys out of here.” Rem looked around at everyone. “I’m sorry it took so long, I’ll explain later. Is there a ship docked here? Anyway to get the hell out of here quick?” He asked. He had to hide a look of dismay. Everyone looked malnourished and thin. They had obviously been starving to death for quite a while. “No, they took the last ship out of here days ago. Theres nothing here.” Jen responded. “What about the Quixote, can’t you just bring it over and we can get on it?” Rem grimaced. “No. Siberius took it at the same time he was grabbing you guys. I had no idea what was going on until it was too late. Alright, look… I’m going to try something. It’s not gonna solve the problem, but it’ll be a quick fix until we can do something else.” Rem began to slowly power up then. He brought the barrier back to life around him, capturing a bit more oxygen. He hoped he wasn’t going to be outside so long on this trip. He went back over to the airlock and kissed Jen once before stepping through, promising he would be back soon. Once back outside, he powered up in full. His energy signal spiked higher than he had needed to allow it to go in months. Then, he kept powering up. He knew his own strength, and knew that even at maximum this was going to be a hell of a task. He was surprised by how fast his energy was rising, but then realized it must have something to do with the demon power up vash had given him. He grinned yet again, and brought himself up to hover right beside the asteroid. Then, he began to push. At first there was no change, so he doubled down and pushed even harder. Soon enough, the Namekian could feel himself advancing forward a bit. He pushed even harder, then harder. He put all of his strength into the effort, and soon the asteroid was actually moving at a speed of a few meters per second. With a bit more time and effort, it was moving at a slow jog pace for him. Figuring that was fast enough, he stopped. He caught back up to the asteroid after a few seconds, and reentered the air lock. It was time to talk to his people… 882//3914//9606 |

"I'm really not in the mood, Aku," Vash barked at his telepathic prisoner. And he wasn't lying. Vash hadn't felt this outnumbered, this overwhelmed for as long as he could remember, save for the battle with Rem when that bastard finally snapped. "I don't want to do this anymore than I have to, but..." Vash, despite the plea he was about to give, still displayed arrogance and annoyance with the entire situation. For once, Aku actually straightened up. He could tell by the tone in Vash's voice, the stern look in his face... They were actually in trouble. For as much as Aku enjoyed tormenting, torturing his captor, the two were sharing the same vessel. What happened to Vash had a direct effect on the restrained Minotaur. His chains rattled once more as the beast moved about, trying his best to look strong. "So then, it's really serious this time, isn't it?" Aku was actually, for the first time ever, somewhat sensible. Empathetic even. It was a feature that was so foreign Vash was quite unsure if he could trust the beast or not. The demon let out a heavy sigh as he looked once again at his captor. "I'm afraid so. Obviously I... Have exhausted all my other options," Vash admitted. It certainly wasn't easy, but this had to be done, for both of their own goods. "Very well then, prepare yourself. I will give you more than I ever have before... Lord Vash..." The beast bellowed as he closed his cold, lifeless eyes and began to glow brightly. Lord Vash? The title echoed through Vash's mind. Not once, in the entirety of their symbiotic relationship had Aku ever shown that kind of respect towards the demon. Perhaps maybe... Just maybe Vash had finally tamed the wild beast... No fucking way! He quickly dismissed that bullshit idea from his mind. Aku was hate incarnate. He was only doing this to save his own skin, always plotting his inevitable plan for escaping. It was almost laughable that Vash had even considered it. Still though, he would use Aku's power to save his own life as well as Paryl's. There was just no other option. The Saiyans were closing in. Not only on Vash, but on Paryl and the stasis field generator. Vash didn't care about the lives that could be lost if the Saiyans were able to escape and destroy cauldron. Those pieces of shit could burn in hell for all he cared. No, his only concern was for his material belongings and Rem. He finally found Rem and the two were starting something he couldn't quite explain. Something he felt was part of his destiny. His body erupted into a glowing red aura. His muscle mass began to expand. Thankfully, the space suit he was wearing was made from the same material and technology that Saiyan armor was crafted from, and expanded along with his body, otherwise this heroic burst was going to be short lived. He reached inside his arm pouch and produced two capsules. He released them, and both of his mighty demons banes popped into existing, floating in the zero gravity environment. The demons fangs bared in excitement, knowing full well about the blood he was about to shed. With his transformation complete, Vash began his assault. He swooped seemingly in the blink of an eye and slashed at the two original Saiyans, blood began to float around them, pouring from their open wounds. He turned his attention back to Paryl, who had apparently been knocked out in his own struggle. The sight of a downed comrade only fueled his blood lust further. Instantly, he was upon the newly arrived Saiyans in a fury that could not be quenched. Vash moved from one body to the next, faster than a bolt of lightning. One after another after another, the Saiyan casualties were racking up. Nothing could stop him from achieving his goal. Blinded with rage and stained head to toe with the blood of his enemies, Vash did not stop until he and Paryl were the only souls left alive. Or so he had thought. Suddenly, the shield the stasis field generator had put up disappeared. In all of the chaos, one of the Saiyans had slipped through the cracks and managed to disable the force field. Vash hurled his sword across the area, apinning end over end until it sliced the last remaining Saiyans head from its torso, and recalled it using sheer will of ki. Vash turned to see the massive Saiyan ship start its engines. They were glowing bright blue with energy. Fuck! He cursed. What do I do... There just was no time to come up with a plan. He had to act now, for in mere seconds, the ship would rocket off towards suicide station with the intent of blowin it up from the inside. Vash grabbed ahold of the unconscious Paryl, turned, and like a baseball Vash threw his seemingly lifeless body towards the space station. With him now safely out of the way, he turned his attention back towards the ship, which was about to take off. With no time left to spare, he began to dump all of the energy Aku had let him borrow into one of his ultimate techniques. He had been growing quite fond of this one, simply for the destructive power it posses. A black ball of energy formed in front of the demon until he ran out of energy from the Minotaur. Here goes nothing... He thought as he launched his electro eclipse bomb right for the ship dead center. Trickles of red electricity shot out behind it as it made its way to the hull. A direct hit! The ship began to explode a thousand times over, he must have hit the main reactor. A chain reaction of explosions left the ship in nothing but a floating pile of rubble. Exhausted, Vash reverted back to his normal form, and flew over to collect Paryl before he flew off into space, Lost forever. Wc 1010/6706/10616 |
