His eyes opened large. A wicked smile had spread across his face. Right in the middle of the auditorium, there was a malicious happiness bleeding from the hooded changeling. ”Kelsius is on Avalon. He has also escaped custody. Things are going just as planned. Phase 2 can commence. As Kelsius continues on we must now start our part in this grand scheme.” Just as he said that all of the lights came on to show just how many people were present. It had to be thousands. It could have reached millions if the building allowed it, but it supposedly only had a capacity of 200,000. Each person stood up and ripped their hoods and cloaks off. This was the family that was forgotten and banished by Lord Frost. Standing in the middle was, of course, the head of that family. He was much taller than the rest of them. His spikes were sharper and his skin seemed healthier; he was the pack leader of course. ”Time for the Blackheart Clan to ascend. Avalon will be ours. Everyone move to your ships. The fleet will be on the move. By the time we get there Kelsius would have wiped out the strongest. This will be easy.” As he said that groupings of changeling disappeared one group at a time. They were preparing for their moments of glory which soon awaited them. Now if only Kelsius can hold everything together while they advanced to that planet. The leader grinned even more, if that were even possible. ”I, Tempera Blackheart, will finally be able to start an empire that will rival Frost. When that happens, we will clash and I will take everything from that damned family.” Coming from the shadows was a nearly familiar presence. She was tiny, about 3 feet if that, and her green hair had antennae peeking out of them. Her bug-like wings fluttered about. ”Lord Tempera, what if your plan fails? Are we going to move on to the next path?” He turned to the woman. He frowned seeing her but he did nod at what she said. “Princess Nightbug. I did not know you were a part of the audience. But anyway, yes. I do take your advice. Plan for failure and move on when needed. Do you feel this plan will fail?” She shrugged and yawned a little. “Its Avalon. Paladins are not easy prey. To make matters worse? That girl, the one that is with Kelsius, has a certain soul inside of her. I can sense Wriggle still in this plane and my senses take me right to the champion girl. I don’t know the story behind it, but she has some of Wriggle in her. Many people don’t know this about Wriggle, but when she summoned Dragonfly, she became consumed by its rage. That rage is very dangerous. Mix it with her ability to transform like a Saiyan and see what destruction she can cause.” Tempera’s eyes displayed his interest in what the alien had to say. He did not even know who Wriggle was, but the name sounded nearly identical to hers, Niggle. Maybe they were related? Well anyway… “So you are saying that Anna Rondown can defeat Kelsius at full power?” “ I am saying that if you push her too far she can defeat every single last one of you. Watch out. If you see the rage in her eyes building I advise that you retreat. The sin of wrath is something not to be taken lightly…” Tiny nighbugs fluttered around her and she disappeared before his eyes. Tempera grabbed his chin and thought on it. He had to be weary then. “I have to watch her. If she can best my best fighter… I will have to find a way to make her useful…” Finding that needle… He was pretty old, but that didn’t mean he had a curfew or something like that. Deep in the Cougon Plains something had landed and its intent was so murderous. Being the last of the heroes, and the owner of the Hero’s Sword, Ury was more sensitive to the intent than the rest. He was the only one to grasp an understanding of it. He stroke his beard a few times while standing at the edge of the plains. “This power is intense. I have yet to feel such power in years. I wonder what the creature wants.” He stepped right into the plains and began his journey to find the source before it could make it to the main city. As he feet crushed the ground with its weight and might he looked around to make sure that he did not have any bandits on his flank. The last thing he wanted to do was be bothered by them. He was sure that he had passed the days of fighting against those pest. Everything was fine though. The plains were empty… that was pretty unusual though. He felt the emptiness of the plains. Normally at-least the life of animals was about his senses. ”That is odd. I wonder what has happened to the animals.” There was an answer. It came in the form of a bolt of lightning that came horizontal instead of vertical. It crashed right into Ury’s sword and he swung the bolt away with a howl. That was an attack. It was focused right onto him. Staring feet away was cold eyes. The being was large and the spikes were various along his shoulders and his head. This was one ugly changeling. ”This is the source of the intent. You. What is your purpose here? Why have you made your trip here to Avalon?” A yell came from the ugly being and he nearly slid across the air in his run toward Ury. ”Does it matter? I drew out one of the last heroes of Avalon. If I kill you, then who would step up to me?” After all of that being said, a spiked punch came toward Ury. Ury could only laugh as he said those words; did the creature not know he was aged and there were many Paladins stronger than him? Maybe it was because of the sword he wields? That could be it and if that was so he needed to get rid of this thing quicker than he thought. But to protect his people he had to play along. He pointed the tip of the sword at him. “You won’t be able to kill me.” He swung his sword and sliced right into the knuckle of the Changeling and used his foot to kick the sword free. It was almost immediate; the creature healed the wound and chuckled. “I guess I can’t hold back on you. That would be foolish. I will go straight to the second form then.” In a flash his body had become even uglier. His head grew longer and he looked more monstrous. ”I am Kelsius Blackheart. You….what should I call you?” “Ury. And I am one of the remaining seven heroes of Avalon. The one who wields Gan, the Hero’s Sword.” His aura flashed from his armor and his sword in a blue tint. “And just because you have transformed does not mean you have the upper hand. I will show you what true skill is.” They both ran toward each other and crashed to create an explosion of power and might. Slashes were swung all over. Punches were thrown in different directions. Their high speed combat was pushing the atmosphere apart. A final lash from the Gan split part of the plains down the middle and nearly cut Kelsius in half; he moved to the side just in time and gave the old man a grin. ”Slow and old. That is how I like my heroes. So much easier to kill and killing them brings them to reality as well? It’s a blessing really. Heroes should only prosper at their young ages. Everything goes downhill over the hill.” Kelsius grabbed Ury by the throat and the old man tensed up at the young Changelings strength. It made him drop the sword and he immediately went to grab at Kelsius’ arm. “The moment I kill you will be the moment I understand that you Paladins are jokes. This is nothing but pure symbolism for my people; your head will rest upon a stake and be our emblem for battle.” Ury saw no hope in the situation. Did he become careless? Was this the end for the old hero? Maybe he should have told someone where he was going. Wait. He did tell Maris. Maybe Maris would come save the day? This made him laugh. Ury wouldn’t even had wanted that. Relying on nothing but the sword was his downfall. I want my student to know how…to use the sword and be able to go without it. Without Gan I am useless. And then a punch separated both Kelsius and Ury. It was a hard right hook that literally came out of what looked like a space and time portal or…was that just pure speed? Were they punching out of a jump drive movement? Nonetheless a punch came out and it was what saved Ury’s life. 1,536 / 1,536 |

It all started with both girls popping out of Jump Space right into the spaceport; they kept things legal. It was pretty annoying for Anna because they had to stay in that space until they were cleared completely. Then there was the tax and the fees. Thank god they didn’t have bags. As they appeared, both Misaki and Anna had time to turn and see the explosion right above the atmosphere. It looked more like a cloud though and no one would notice it. Anna frowned. “My stuff… Oh my god Kelsius is going to pay for that!” Anna slammed her fist onto the platform and the entire port shook. She looked around and blushed with embarrassment. She needed to hold in her wrath a little better. ”He had to play dirty didn’t he? He just knew he couldn’t beat us. I don’t think the transformation was going to boost him enough for us to have gotten even more serious.” Misaki dusted herself off of the space dust or whatever is in that space portal thing. She was the first to begin walking and Anna followed. ”But we need to track him down. I don’t have to stress how bad this looks on us for losing him.” Anna sighed and grabbed onto her head. Misaki didn’t have to stress it again. She bit her body lip and more huffs of air came out her mouth. Man, they messed up pretty bad by trying to fight him. What if he wanted that to happen? Or maybe she was just thinking too much. Her azure colored eyes moved around and she saw the many people walking around peacefully. What if Kelsius was here to jeopardize that? Of course he would. He was a criminal. Anna clenched her fist. ”We really need to grow up.” Misaki giggled as she heard that and she closed her eyes while feeling that Anna was looking at her a little baffled. ”Nope not ready for that. I am only seventeen. You are barely a year old bio girl. We have the excuse of ignorance. Let’s hold on to it a little longer. Oh! That guy you spoke to me about over the phone. Don’t ask how I even switch to this subject. Uhm…Raven? Rae? Revan! There we go! Revan. How come he isn’t with you?” Anna didn’t have to think hard on that one. They didn’t speak after the tournament, but there was this feeling that their paths had to split. Both had to know it, or at-least Anna did. They had separate questions to get answered. Anna had to find who she was, a year wasn’t exactly enough time to find out what her morals were. She was so twisted by her father of old and his ways. Then her mother, who she felt that she had trusted the most, was very mysterious. The way her biological father acted toward her mother made her really think on what her mom may stand for. Matters that have gotten worse? Her mother had disappeared after they were separated during that trial. She didn’t even show up to cheer her daughter on during the tournament. She wasn’t there to stop her from making that decision. There were many things her mother wasn’t there for. ”We had things we needed to do away from each other. I miss him though. I..I just can’t keep relying on him. I have to find my own strength.” The girls stopped right outside the space port and they were able to see Avalon City for what it was, a beautiful and large city. It was so advanced with its technology. It was a wonder to Anna every time she came here, even if her main campus was here on Avalon. Beep. Beep. Beep. Anna was given a transmission directly to her mind. ”Hold on Misaki.” She grumbled as she saw who it was. It was the Headmaster of her school and she had a feeling what he was talking about. ”Anna. I see you are here. Did you bring the criminal with you?” ”Uhm, a-about that…” ”….what did you do?” ”Well see, Misaki and I-“ ”Misaki is with you!? By Ganr’s Hand, you lost him didn’t you?” That told a lot about Misaki and Anna’s relationship right there. Whenever those two were together mischief and mistakes were very common. Anna chuckled nervously outside of the call and Misaki looked over to her and grinned. ”It must be the headmaster.” She took out her fan and placed it against her lips. ”We are going to get him back. Don’t worry, we just have to figure out where he is.” ”No that isn’t hard at all,” Anna said while a few nanobots ripped from her body. Misaki winced as she saw that again, but Anna continued. ”They are going to scope out for him. I can sense his intent too. It is just so great that I can only get a general direction of it.” As if what she said was a key word of the day a young man stopped and looked at her. The girls didn’t notice him, even though he was dressed up in armor and had a sword against his back. Well, that was a basic Paladin view anyway so he sort of blended into the environment. He looked Anna up and down and his eyes widened. ”Is that…yes that is Angelica’s armor! How did you get it? That isn’t even a copy either. Though…those gauntlets seem a little modified. Nonetheless that is the real deal. And you can also sense intent like Ury sensei.” Misaki and Anna gave their attention to him as he spoke about one of the Heroes of Old. ”Yes, that is Angelica’s armor and her katana as well. Anna requested it after she—“ Before she could continue the young man took out his sword and pointed it at Anna. ”I remember you. The one that killed all of those people to win the tournament.” His face had twisted from wonder to hatred on an instance. “What are you doing here? Did you come to turn yourself in?” Anna’s eyes widened. She was… she didn’t know how she felt as he did that. She was hurt no doubt, but why was she? She didn’t want to be considered a murderer but she murdered. Misaki had to come to the rescue as Anna sat back in a daze. ”She was in a lawless zone. So whatever she did there doesn’t count as illegal, even murder.” She tapped her fan on his shoulder and her eyes snapped into a purple color. His did the same and suddenly everyone around her began to have flashes of her purple eyes. She was searching their memories and what they had seen in order to make a link around her area to find out exactly what happened about half an hour ago. She saw from multiple views where Kelsius landed. She also saw why the Paladin was so interested in Anna. ”Oh, you are looking for Ury? He just ran off into the Cougan Plains chasing an intent you couldn’t feel… Maris is it?” He took few steps back and grunted at her. He wasn’t surprised at what she did, but it still caught him off guard. ”So you are a psychic huh? I wish I knew that before I confronted you two. And I guess you are right, but that won’t even sit right with me. A Murderer is still a murderer in my mind.” That was true. She read that and looked to Anna with a frown. ”But your opinion doesn’t matter. Anna. Ury went after Kelsius. Having two signatures makes it easy right?” As if to make it even easier for Anna to track, there was an increase in power right at the Eastern Cougan Plains and it snapped Anna right out of her little daze. ”That is some power… Kelsius was still playing around with us. At this rate, I might have to transform to deal with him. She pushed what was on her mind completely away. Maris’ judgmental words were temporarily forgotten as her sense of duty over took her thoughts. Blue lights outlined her entire body and Anna turned to Misaki. ”It will be faster if I go ahead alone. You can catch up right? Bring that guy with you I guess.” Anna looked over to Maris with an indifferent stare and it caused him to jump a little at how calm she was after his accusations. Misaki nodded. ”Yes, yes. Go ahead Anna we will be on our way. Just do not try and suck all of the fun out of it.” Anna showed off a grin before her body zapped away, leaving behind the sounds of a TV being turned off. Misaki sighed. ”Maris, before you judge her… you should really get to know her. There are decisions that we make that we instantly regret. Then there are some we don’t know to regret until someone gives us a reason to. People like me and her? We are just kids who see a goal and get to it no matter the cost. Will we regret it every time? No. Does it really mean that we feel it is right when we don’t regret….? Nope. It doesn’t. 1,551 / 3,087 |

It was a punch right out of instant travel and there was questions to how powerful it really could be until it touched the Changelings face and distorted the ugly thing. Kelsius’ body moved through the air and was distanced from Ury instantly and the Old Paladin saw what he thought to be Angelica, but only younger and with brown hair. “What?” That was the only word to leave his mouth before he had to cough and gather his own breath. It didn’t matter at the moment who it was; they saved his life just now and he hoped they were here to stay. Anna stared down Kelsius’ trailing body for a moment and sucked on her teeth. ”I didn’t meant to knock him so far away. Darn it.” She looked back to see Ury and she gasped. ”Oh! Sorry, I almost forgot to check up on you. You must be Ury! Yes I know all about you and the original group of heroes! I have Angelica’s things. I hope you don’t find it too disrespectful….” She moved over to help him sit down and catch his breath and she noticed the sword he had that was next to him. ”Gan. We learned about him last semester. So it is true that you wield him.” Semester. So she was in school. That was amazing. He could sense great power in the child. The power didn’t seem enough to defeat the beast before them, but it was still great. Then there came that more troubling feeling he felt. Finally he was able to talk. ”Thank you. A second sooner and I would have been dead.” He stroked his white beard as he thought. ”I do not know if you feel it like I do but he isn’t going to be alone any time soon. I believe he was just a scout.” ”Wait what? A scout? Aren’t they supposed to be naturally weaker?” Before the conversation could continue Kelsius came rushing back into combat distance and landed with a heavy thud. His grin was… just pure ugly and Anna’s face showed its disgust. ”I never asked why you killed that man. He probably could have made it to the tournament finals. I don’t think anyone in your clan made it to through the qualifications. So, it all starts to smell a little fishy. What is your goal Kelsius?” Her voice was a little stronger than normal. Maybe that was a testament to how serious she was becoming at the situation. Her eyes lowered down and her cocky smirking had died down. Kelsius chuckled. ”So what if everything seems to smell fishy. My goal is to come here and cause a ruckus. I am doing quite a good job right now, or at-least I wanted to think so. Not enough attention has been grabbed and that is because you are in my way kid. Just move to the side now, or I will have to get serious on you. I don’t think you are ready for that yet. You might die.” ”Why should you care if I live or die? It looks to me that your transformations must be straining or something. You are trying so hard to prevent using them.” She placed her hand onto the katana and her foot slid forward. If he was going to be this conservative then she should take advantage of it! She rushed toward him and the sword slung out at caught the spikes against his forearm. She swung at him again and Kelsius continued to block them with a bit of ease. ” Did I not tell you? You are going to have to come at me with all your might!” It was a flash of power that gave Anna a headache, Kelsius had transformed again and for his final time. During the transformation a hand went right through Anna’s chest and she felt pain she could not describe go through her entire body. She could not breathe as the sun started to drop at of the sky. She could not hear as Kelsius spoke. He was smaller now. His form was slender. She could not sense his new power. Everything was fading away. She was fading into darkness… Was she dying?
