Tien had seen many fights with other martial artists; however he had never been in a fight to the death with anyone. The thought of both fighters putting their lives on the line to win made tien absolutely enlightened. He had longed for a good match as he had not seen one in some time, but he feared his power was only good for those on this planet, there must be more beyond the borders of its atmosphere. Tien opened his eyes and peered out from the perch of his mountain. Tien looked around as the wind had picked up and strong storms were rolling in, he knew this made his training that much more efficient, he jumped into the air and started his day off as he normally did with a small warm up of punches and kicks to the midair as his power had grown significantly over the past few months, he was still not satisfied. He wanted to be the strongest fighter in the galaxy. Tien leapt off the mountain he was standing on and landing on the ground at the base where his rucksack with what few possessions he had lay on the ground. “I wonder what this day has in store for me.” Tien grabbed the sack full of provisions and peered inside, he noticed he only had a few apples and fruits left. “Well it appears I must run to the store.” Tien flew into the air and off towards the mainland where the marketplace was, he only bought fresh fruits and vegetables from the local farmers, nothing processed from the governments of the city’s political holdings. Tien flew over the wide blue ocean, peering down at the waves where sea life was swimming around as if not a care in the world went through their mind; this brought a smile to his face. “That is peace, I wish the rest of the world could live like this, however in order for this I would have to be the pinnacle of the earth’s defenses, I am not there yet but one day I shall rise above any that stands in my way.” Tien flew for several minutes before he spotted the main lands, he flew straight to the city and landed just on the outskirts of the town, he dropped in just next to the small store where he always bought his fruit from. “Hello Larry, how are you today?” The shopkeeper just peered at him and then back at the television set. Tien walked next to him, “What is wrong is something going on?” The man nodded and pointed at the set with a fearful look in his eyes. Tien watched the news cast as it came over the television set; the reported was standing outside one of the dojos. “I am ken Cartwright bringing you channel five news just outside the wolf dojo in West City, it appears an unknown fighter has come through and challenged the dojos, however most fighters challenge them and if they defeat the dojos they are granted certain privileges through the masters of the dojos, this fighter has chosen to kill anyone he defeats, as if they are not worthy of living. Tien dropped a bag of coins onto the counter and walked towards the door, “Fill a bag up with all the fruits and provisions I can get for that amount Larry, I shall return for them once I defeat this individual making his way through the town and destroying innocent people, he will pay for this crime with the ultimate price should it come to that.” Tien was red with rage, he was proud to be a martial artist, it took certain discipline that most men did not possess, however this mane disgusted him, he was no fighter, he was just a murderer. Tien nodded as Larry grabbed the bag of coins. Tien flew out of the shop and into the air outside, “Let’s see where he is.” Tien focused his energy and looked around for the signs of his ki as they must have been easy to find if he could defeat the masters of all the dojos. Suddenly he felt a power on the other side of the city; it was strong but not invincible. Tien flew off towards the southern portion of the city where he knew of a dojo. Tien could hardly wait to bring justice to this man, he deserved death however tien was not the one to bring the final judgement to him unless fate wanted it. Tien flew around until he found the dojo; he then dropped to the ground. He peered around wanting any signs of struggle, but he did not see any. He slowly walked towards the doorway of the gym, “Hello is anyone there?” Tien did not see anyone; he could feel the man’s energy as he was close but in sight yet. Tien rushed inside as fast as he could, he saw a few dead bodies of students lying around. “Ah, you monster where are you come out and fight me.” Tien looked around, he felt a slight power in the next room but it was fading fast, he walked into the training area. He looked around and saw several more students lying dead on the ground, he bent down and felt one’s heart, the blood was still wet and warm so it was only a few minutes since this happened he could not have left yet. Tien walked around some more until he heard a scream, “Help, somebody help me!” Tien busted through the doors into the next room, he saw a child student backing against the wall. Tien watched as a dark man stood in front of him, it appeared his body had been mangled, he was half cybernetics. He wore a mask with oxygen coursing through it, he peered around at tien. His metal was a black tinted color, he turned to see tien, a smile came across what little bit of a face he had left. “So this explains why I could not sense you properly.” The man nodded, “Yes I am not mere human, you must be a fighter you are stronger than most I have challenged today.” “You have challenged nobody, you have just killed today and I am going to end this little game of yours.” The man nodded, “Right as so many more have done this far,” he jumped at the child and grabbed him by the throat; tien quickly flew in and slammed his foot into the side of the man’s head sending him into the wall. “Kid get out of here now, go get medical help for the rest of these men that might still be alive.” The child nodded and rushed out the door. “Now it is just you and me, let’s see you defeat me.” Tien walked around sizing the fighter up. The man stood to his feet and brushed off the debris from the wall he went through, “Very well if it is your wish to die today then I shall not deny you that wish.” Tien smiled, “Very confident for a dead man, well whatever you are.” The fighter rushed at tien, he threw a fist towards tien’s head, but he quickly sprang backwards and dodged the attack, as he landed the fighter was on top of him once again, he slammed an elbow into tien’s chest driving him backwards. Tien flew into the wall and landed outside the dojo, the attack hit hard he now knew the fighter was stronger than he thought. This could very well be the day tien met the match he wanted. Tien stood slowly to his feet as he prepared himself for the next attack. “You are not as weak as you look for a robot,” said tien with a cocky smile on his face. The fighter slowly walked out of the hole in the wall, then stood next to tien, “You have seen nothing yet tien.” Tien was shocked as he knew his name, while incapacitated with curiosity the fighter drove a fist into tien’s gut knocking the air from his body, then he threw a roundhouse kick sending tien through the air and into a wall. “Pathetic tien I was told you were one of the best the planet has to offer, and yet I cannot be pleased with such meager power.” Tien sit on the ground, hope was slipping away, then he realized if he lost this fight the entire city and possible the planet would soon be destroyed of all the people, all those innocent people. Tien stood to his feet and clinched his fists together, “Well then it seems I have to treat this as the fight of my life, I will defeat you heathen under any means necessary.” Tien began powering up, his aura rose around him, electricity formed around his body. “I will destroy you monster, and I will not think twice of killing you.” Tien exploded with one final push of energy, the ground around the two turned into a crater. Tien flew back in too fast for the fighter and he slammed a fist into his face, sending him instantly to the ground, his body slid several yards before going into the dojo walls once more. Tien flew into the air and formed a ball of ki into his hands, “Let’s see you get back up from this little surprise.” Tien charged his energy wave and fired the beam; it flew from his palms beaming with energy on a course for the fighter. The fighter looked up in time to see it crash into his body, it exploded the surrounding area, and debris flew all over. Tien could hear sirens coming, “Those fools, they will get killed if they come here.” Tien turned and fired a beam at a small shack down the road and forced it across the highway to block traffic. “Now you are mine fighter, I will show you true pain.” Tien formed a dodonpa into his right hand, after a few seconds of charging it, tien awaited for the fighter to emerge from the smoke, as he stood there, tien fired the beam. Soon the man fired a large beam back at tien, the two energy beams collided midair, they struggled back and forth. Tien had never felt such power from anyone, the energy from this warrior was huge, the energy slowly began coming towards tien as he was losing the fight. “I cannot lose this fight; I will not let you destroy this planet.” Tien forced all his energy into his body out through the beam, it exploded with energy as it sailed towards the fighter for one final attack. Tien watched as the beam crashed through the other fighter’s attack and slammed into him exploding around him and forcing energy to consume the area. Tien felt his low power level fade away into nothing, tien released the energy and allowed the beam to dissipate as he slowly hovered there exhausted from the massive energy loss he had consumed in that attack. He saw only a few remaining parts of the man as they lay on the ground, tien fell to the ground and slammed into the dirt. He heard people coming to him, he looked up to see the child and a few medics running over, and they gave him drinks and food. They took him to the hospital, a few hours passed before tien flew out, he landed at the market and walked in to grab his bag. Everyone clapped, Larry handed him the bag and the pack of coins, this is on the house for what you did tien. We are truly grateful for you, anything you need you please come back.” Tien nodded and then flew off towards his mountain training grounds once again. TWC- 1979 |
