It was a beautiful morning on Toffit. There had yet to be a morning on the planet that wasn't beautiful, actually. She expected no less from the home world of the Celestials. From what Agatha had learned, Toffit once was a terribly toxic place that barely sustained life, and even then only for the hardiest of species that could endure the extremes. Now, however, the planet flourished with organic life. It was absolutely stunning!

Agatha had quite some time before she had any obligations to see to. The day was young yet, and she figured she should use the spare time to get some training in. Though the young woman was a bit of a pacifist, she still thought it important to be able to take care of herself. Just because she didn't want to fight didn't mean that she couldn't. It was simply a last resort for her, after all words had failed.

Opening up her travel trunk, she shifted things around until she found a pouch that she used to carry some smaller items. From it, she withdrew a small crimson gem. Turning it in her palm, the light from her window reflected brightly off its many facets. Agatha gave a small smile. The gem was one of the most unique and useful things she'd ever encountered. It worked almost like a social networking system, allowing the owner to locate another individual that was also seeking a training partner and bring them together -- no matter where each of them were in the universe. It had the added perk of joining them in an almost pseudo-realm where they could fight to their hearts' content and not actually die. It was perfect, really.

Closing her eyes, she breathed in deep and let it out slowly. When she opened them again, she was in a forest that she did not recognize. She was also alone for the time being. It seemed she would have to wait for an opponent. Pulling her mohawked dreadlocks back into a secure ponytail, she wandered the woods for a sturdy stick to use as a makeshift staff, passing the time until someone arrived.

  • ~Oh the antics of Roshi just never seemed to stop. Hell Nine even questioned why he was in public with the guy in the first place. He just had to beg him to come stand in line with him at the Miss World pageant didn’t he? Nine finally just had to give in and say yes to the old man to get him to shut-up and now here they were. Standing in a long line and yet Roshi seemed to beg and half beat himself to the front of it. Reluctantly Nine followed suit quietly as the old man started to look for any hot lady that passed by.

Boobs and asses all over as women somehow accompanied their husbands to this event, though also some women worked on the set, and even others were lesbians. People from all around the world just seemed to enjoy such an event, either for the view or the artistic nature of it. Regardless of the reason Roshi was here for one thing only and Nine just knew it’d get the guy into trouble. It wasn’t long before Roshi was gone as Nine finally pulled from his thoughts and looked for the guy. Where he found him was even more of a shock as he seemed to find an umbrella pole and shimmied his way to the top of it.

From there equipped with binoculars the old man zoomed in on any lady he could and seemed to literally drool all over himself. God damn, this guy held no tact and Nine noticed he was holding the place in line. He gave a soft chuckle as he made his own exit away from the crazy old man, and headed off for the roof to be alone. Sure Nine to a point was interested in the pageant but he wasn’t about to be seen with Roshi there. Plus they had a few hours to kill so he simply got himself settled into a meditative state and held his gem within his pocket.

Once his eyes close boom, the world seemed to disappear and there he was within a forest and he tilted his head with a smirk. Nice area he thought to himself as he turned around to find a woman seemingly playing with a stick. She wasn’t facing him quite yet so he couldn’t help himself. “So…Interesting spot here…Names Nine by the way…” he stated calmly, as he stood about twenty feet away and waited to see this woman and exactly how she’d react with his sudden presence.~

She sensed the arrival of her companion before he spoke. In her hands was a thick branch roughly six feet long that she was currently testing the weight of. "Nine?" she asked with genuine curiosity, without turning to look at him. Her voice was soft and melodic, but carried quite well. "That's an interesting name." Shifting, the young woman looked at him with a smile.

And then that smile faltered, and was replaced with a curious expression. Agatha stared only for a moment before she realized what she was doing and gave him a sheepish look. "I apologize. My name is Agatha." Casually, she tossed the stick to the side and left it laying in the grass, forgotten. The distance between them was closed with a few steps and she offered him a friendly handshake. "I didn't mean to stare, it's just that you look very familiar. Have we met before?"

Agatha was usually very good with faces and names, so the fact that she recognized him but couldn't quite place his identity meant that their encounter before had not involved formal greetings. One thing she was certain of, however, was that she had met him at some point. It would come to her eventually, and perhaps if he remembered her he could help jog her memory.

He would see a very young woman, no older than eighteen years of age if she was even that old. She was dressed very casually in clothes that would be comfortable to exercise in, and around her neck was a small metal pan flute with a white heart shaped locket dangling next to it on the cord. She was short, not much taller than five and a half feet, and pretty in an exotic way. Her hair was dyed a fiery red-orange color at the top and faded into a very dark brunette, and was stylized in a mixture of dreadlocks and braids with the sides of her head shaved save for a lock in front of each ear. Her left ear had a cuff ring on it that attached to the top of her ear flap and dangled down until it reattached at the ear lobe.

She could sense his power level was significantly higher than hers, which was both intimidating and exciting. The spar would likely prove to be a painful experience for her, but on the plus side she'd probably learn a few things.

  • ~The words came across and yet she remained faced away from him. This was rather impressive to Nine honestly, since they both knew part of the reason they were here. It was to simply fight, spar better their skills which normally involved facing and knowing your opponent. Of course the second reason for Nine at least was to meet new people, for one he enjoys having friends if they’re worthy, and also it helps him find possible leads to his past, who he was as a person. Both of which are huge in the eyes of Nine frankly. Even so, his mind digressed as he let her have the moment like an honorable fighter.

“Well, it’s more a designation I guess…It’s what was on my pod when I came back to this universe per-se.” Nine couldn’t help his little retort as she mentioned a bit about his name. Sure it was an oddity, but simply put he didn’t remember his name from before the experiment. As she turned around his eyes where already scanning her form looking for possible weak points and other aspects just to get familiar with her. Sadly they weren’t fully finished with top of the line android qualities but his blue eyes definitely held some upgrades. Hell if she looked close enough she could see various words and pictures flashing within them for his memory.

His mind was mostly still his own, so the flashes and words both help to keep them stored, and well he had a bit of a great memory now. Regardless, he also noticed her first reactions as she turned to face him. That smile seemed to slightly disappear, and she had a face as if she was familiar with him. Of course this was only an assumption, but Nine would give it a bit longer before immediately questioning her. He wanted more clues after all, before just diving right in. “Everything alright?” he allowed himself to ask casually instead, partially fishing.

Now she finally pushed forward with a bit more words. So, maybe she did have some sort of idea on him? He would know soon enough. Her question though proved problematic as he let his head drift off towards the side as if in thought. “Heh, I honestly couldn’t tell ya…I had a little issue I guess you could say and my memory is rather gone save for a month ago or so.” Nine finally stated as his gaze slowly drifted back towards her. As for her, he definitely never took anything at face value anymore. So as to her abilities, he wouldn’t go on sensing alone, they’d be tested and he knew others were able to hide potential. “I can talk while we have a go at this?” he stated politely as if giving her the first move, and yet curious all at the same time.~

Pod? Back to this universe? She wracked her brain trying to put the pieces together. Was he an android? He must be. Almost every android she encountered referred to themselves with numbers rather than what organics would consider conventional names. One thing Agatha was very good at was eye contact, and when her amber colored eyes locked on his she could have sworn she saw flashes of light in Nine's gaze that had not been generated by the sun.

Her smile had returned in full, soft and small but completely genuine as she reassured him. "Yes, everything is fine. I'm simply very good with names and faces, so it is rare that I don't remember someone."

She listened with rapt attention to his words and nodded when he suggested that they continue chatting while they trained. "I haven't been doing this very long. Try not to break me too hard," Agatha told him with a slight smirk and a glint of humor in her eyes. The stance she took was practiced, but not expert. A trained eye would easily be able to tell that she was still somewhat of a beginner to the fighting scene. Nevertheless, she stood her ground and when he was ready she moved.

Keeping herself balanced and ready on the balls of her feet, Agatha stepped forward and gave a few testing jabs. She started with her forward fist aiming at his chest, and followed it immediately with a more powerful one from her back hand. Lastly, she aimed the elbow from her first hand across his face. Though he would know by this point that she was not as strong as him, she did appear to at least be vastly above the average for a typical non-fighting human.

"I'm sorry to hear about your memory," Agatha told him as she set herself to react against his retaliation. "That's a terrible thing. I hope it's not rude of me to ask this: Are you an android?" She seemed genuinely curious. There was no hint of judgment in her voice, despite the fact that many androids were treated poorly -- particularly by humans. But for her, it seemed she would be more fascinated than put off. She was still trying to place his face. It was nagging at her heavily, as though she should know him; like he was someone of at least semi-significance. It was right on the edge of her memory, she just needed something to tip her mind over the precipice of uncertainty.

  • ~Nine watched as she pushed herself into a fighting stance and allowed his gaze to measure her stance up a bit. With this he easily pushed back his right leg, the more dominant one. This was for a more stable plane for his form. Then he brought up his fists, both balled up one low extended down next to his left leg and the other high right next to his face. This was so he could block low or higher attacks. That 6’1” ripped like frame of his was even closer to the ground making him look more like 5’10”. After all the taller they were the longer the fall, this helped him keep his footing slightly better.

Sure she mentioned being fine, but in Nine’s mind he just couldn’t shake that look she first gave him. He found himself slightly dwelling upon it as she spoke once again. “Heh, don’t worry…I’ll make you sweat a bit, but I’ll play somewhat nice. I don’t underestimate my opponents…A Saiyan taught me that much, so potential can always be hidden.” This allowed a brief silence before Nine tacked on, “Besides…In the words of an old man and myself mixed…Be a shame to mess up a beautiful face.” Ok, it was more so Nine on that one since he knew Roshi would just want to face plant her boobs.

Now it started as she threw the first few punches. Nine let his forearm deflect the punches she threw at his chest. His arm set to protect his face glided quickly down to do this. Unfortunately this also left him open as that elbow of hers to impact his chin. His face moved with the momentum of the blow, which helped with the pain as he was still partially nerve system. She’d feel the hardness of his face, and yet that was only casing under his skin, which his skin was thankfully was still natural. Now it was his turn though, as he composed himself quickly enough.

He started out with his own two punch combo, his left then right aimed for her gut. After that he’d pull back ever so slightly with his body to duck it low in a crouch. His right foot pushed forward attempting to connect with her ankle to knock her body down or off balance. He made sure it was a bit quicker so that he could pull back in transition to stand once again a few paces away from her form. Her question though made him chuckle lightly while doing so. “No worries…An yes…I am half android you could say…I look human, but not from earth originally, that much I know. I was experimented on after I crashed I guess…Which is why I have no memory before then.”~

"Saiyans are quite adept at fighting lessons," she stated dryly, acknowledging his subtle comment at some kind of past altercation he'd had. Nine's remark about her looks was met with a wry smirk, and perhaps a slight blush. "Yes, well.. if this face leaves itself open to a hit, you make sure I remember to keep it protected, you hear?" The hint was clear: she didn't want him to hold punches. She wasn't going to learn anything if he went too easy on her.

Agatha was mildly surprised to actually land a hit on him, but she didn't let herself linger on the small victory. Getting distracted would be unwise, particularly since he did not hesitate to respond to her attack in kind. Still, she'd never fought an android before, not even a partial one. It was one thing to hear him say that he was a cyborg and another entirely to feel the metal casing beneath his flesh. Her elbow was throbbing a bit.

A quick step back helped her evade his first punch, while a practiced swipe from one of her arms allowed her to deflect the second. Then pain flared in her ankle as his foot connected solidly with it. Falling backward, she completely lost her balance. However, she recovered quickly. Her time with the gypsies had done more than hone her voice and stage performance. Much of her tutelage involved the art of tumbling, which she displayed with graceful expertise as she use the momentum of her fall to roll right back onto her feet and propel herself forward.

Almost instantly, she was upon him once more. With almost perfect balance Agatha raised one leg in a round house kick toward his face. Continuing to turn her body, she effortlessly switched feet and used her movement to follow up her first kick with spinning back hook kicked aimed in the same spot. By the time she'd finished, she'd turned completely around to face him again with both feet planted firmly on the ground. The attacks themselves were not necessarily strong, but the fluidity of her movements and the agility of her balance betrayed that she was an individual who was accustomed to being on her feet.

It would be impossible to miss the slight furrowing of her brows as he mentioned that he'd been experimented on. She disapproved of that, and greatly so, but couldn't think of a way to say anything that wouldn't come across as piteous; an emotion most people who had rough pasts loathed receiving from others. So, to avoid any awkward tension on that particular subject, she moved on. "And you haven't met anyone who knows who you are? No family or friends at all that could help you piece together your identity?" Idly, Agatha began to think on if she had any connections to people who worked with or around androids, anyone who might be able to give him some leads.

  • ~A grin pressed itself upon his features as Agatha was more than ready to defend herself. She was a decent fighter Nine had to give her that one for sure. His little sweep worked, but she was a very graceful woman while in the action. She easily flipped herself back up to her feet and now she was the one on the offence this time around. Nine had expected this however and gave her a slight nod. He simply choose not to speak right away about her first comment since he knew he’d give her a run at least.

She was on her feet once again and now moved towards him with a good spin. Her foot rose but unfortunately he allowed his upper body to arch backwards to avoid the foot all together. His body then shot forward in time for the other foot to come around. This time his arm shot up and he deflected that blow as well. His smile stayed upon his features through this as he gave her a wink. “No worries…I plan to give you a workout.” He finally retorted with in a friendly tone of voice.

Though it was her last question that slightly threw him off guard a bit. He was about to make a counter attack but the words alone seemed to stop him in his tracks as he eyed her a moment. It was as if he made a realization. “No…” he stated softly as he glanced downwards a moment. “No, hadn’t really thought about that, but no not that I know of or remember…No one I’ve met yet has been able to give me much of anything…Kinda…Sucks.” He added on as he took that moment to truly dwell a small bit. His eyes then slowly rose to meet hers once again.

“Are you sure…You don’t remember me from anywhere?” He couldn’t help but recap that thought from earlier. “You gave an odd look when you first looked at me that I just can’t shake for some reason…” He finally let that much out as if it’d jog her mind a bit.~

She stood there with perfect balance; he had a hand up blocking her final kick, and she held her one legged stance without so much as a teeter. When he made a comment that was very suspiciously close to flirting, Agatha narrowed her gaze at him with the slightest of smirks. "Oh? Is that a threat or a promise?" she asked quietly. There was just a hint of mischief in her eyes.

And then her question hit him, and she knew deep within her core that she had just been the cause of a disphoric revelation. Very slowly, Agatha lowered her foot to the ground. She felt terrible. "I'm sorry," she told him, her voice barely more than a whisper.

He voiced his grief to her and she gave him her full attention. She could see the pain in his expression, feel the desperation in his voice when he looked at her and almost seemed to beg for her to remember him. Her own face had contorted with deep sorrow as she empathized with him.

Unless he stopped her, she would close what little distance there was between them to give him a hug. Agatha knew all too well the healing power of touch. Sometimes, all a person really needed was just to feel like they weren't alone, that someone had their back and supported them. And sometimes, words simply weren't enough. It would be slightly awkward with the height difference between them. She couldn't exactly wrap her arms around his shoulders, given that his shoulders were taller than her head -- but a hug was a hug nonetheless.

Looking him in the eyes without wavering her gaze, she frantically poured through her memories. Agatha wanted nothing more than to give him an answer, to help him. "I'm sorry, I know we've met. I'm absolutely positive, but I think it was only briefly. I don't think I ever even learned your name..." She bit her lower lip in frustration and searched his face. It was always the faces she remembered, she just needed to place his. Something, anything!

And just like that, there it was.

Upon his brow was a distinct scar. Agatha tilted her head, her brows furrowing together in thought. Almost on impulse she reached up one of her hands to touch it, managing to stop herself before she actually did. Instead, her hand hovered over it, her painted fingers tracing the length of it a mere inch above his flesh. That scar... she thought to herself.

The memory slammed into her like a sack of cold bricks. When she remembered who he was, the young woman quickly retracted her hand and took a step back. Flashes replayed in her mind: the splattering of hot blood, the screams of children and the wailing of innocents. "I remember you," Agatha breathed. Her expression had changed ever so slightly, but if he paid close attention he would see a measure of fear in her eyes. Perhaps even horror.

"You... you were..." Everything was flooding back to her now with vivid clarity, and it was overwhelming her ability to think straight. She was so dumbstruck by the revelation that she could barely speak. And then, the daunting realization of the news she would have to break to him. The look on her face changed once more, this time to an astoundingly deep mixture of sorrow and regret. He seemed so pleasant, so friendly and kind, and it would fall to her to have to tell him that he was a thief and a killer.

It broke her heart.

"Nine, I'm... I'm so sorry. I mean, yes you were..." Her voice trailed off as she recalled the terrible things she'd witnessed him and his companions do. How could she possibly tell him? Where did she even begin? "Oh, but you didn't deserve this..."

She stepped forward again, her compassion compelling her. Very lightly, Agatha's hand rose. This time she touched the scar with the pads of her fingertips and looked him in the eyes. "This scar. You got it in a fight... and I was the one who gave it to you."

  • ~Now this really put Nine in a rather odd spot to say the least. He held no memories and yet with the words from Agatha, she definitely figured a few things out herself. At first she was awestruck herself about the issue Nine held in his head. One he actually didn’t think about himself until she mentioned it. He had no family to think off because he simply didn’t remember them. They could be around sure, looking for him, or they could be dead and long gone. Nine just had no clue and yes, for once he felt truly alone in this world.

Then of course he felt another body against his own. Agatha had made her way over and hugged him which was really quite the surprise. He blinked as his mind returned to the present and he couldn’t help but hug her back slightly. It was as if it were a natural reaction at the moment. He could have answered that first remark of hers any way he choose but it really didn’t need it. Hell the truth was he didn’t know how he felt about it. He’d let that one go as she looked up at him and he stared back in the silence. He could tell she was sifting through her mind now.

He didn’t wish to interrupt that at all since his question still stood. Her hand rose and Nine didn’t even flinch as he watched her movements with curiosity. Just what was she doing? Did she know this scar along his face herself? He let her have the time she needed to paint that mental picture it seemed. Then she spoke once more and his eyes widened some. “You do?!” was all he could say in retort. Though, soon her features changed once more and she backed away. This made him grunt a bit as he wanted more answers.

He tilted his head as his eyebrows rose a bit at her actions. With her words being all chopped up he just held a more confused look. “I was what? What’s going on, where is it you know me from Agatha?” he found himself asking again softly as he watched her closely. As she started to gather her thoughts seemingly he was glad to finally get somewhere with his memories. She got out a few more broken words and even spoke about giving him this scar that she traced her hand over. Again Nine never flinched as he still held that questioned look.

It was then however, his form faded and he instinctively reached out for Agatha as if he wasn’t ready to leave. Before he knew it he was gone from that plain of existence and he saw Roshi before him as the gem’s light faded. Roshi was hollering about the line and the women once again with his cane tapping on Nine’s head just to pull him back. He narrowed his eyes at this and growled. Finally he was about to get more answers and Roshi had to go and ruin it all! He grabbed the cane from the old man, and for once gave him a taste of his own medicine. Roshi was now the one on the run as Nine chased him with the beating stick swinging it. Nine now knew he had to find Agatha again.~

Agatha steeled herself to drop the bomb on him. She wasn't going to have nearly all of the answers he needed. In fact, she was going to have so very few. Their encounter had been remarkable, but it had been brief. Her lips parted to speak...

...and he faded from her view.

She didn't even have time to call his name in confusion before he was gone. Someone must have drawn him back to the real world, wherever he was. Shoot, she didn't even know where he was... With a deep sigh, Agatha dropped slowly to her knees and sat down in the cool grass. Her head hung low, she closed her eyes and rubbed her face a little.

"I'm going to have to find him," she told herself. He deserved to know about the things he'd done and who he was, even if it was bad news. As to how she would even begin looking for him... When she opened her eyes again, she was back in her room at the inn. Since her opponent had left her own gem had registered that their match was completed and sent her back. The chances of her running into him again with the gem were slim to none.

Agatha stood and shook the web of emotion from her. "Nothing I can do about it now." There was no point worrying about it. She had some leads on him, at least. She knew who he used to be, knew that he as an android and what his designation was. When she had time, she would set herself to doing a little research to try and hunt him down.
