Theme : Sunn O))) - Death Becomes You Coal black eyes blinked to waking with only their whites to engage the abstinent darkness. Daikon gasped and snapped up into a seated position. Nightmares of a white-haired monster claiming the leftovers of his body after the horrible super saiyan experiment had his mind begging to disprove them. His inability to see his hair in his peripheral against the background of void comforted him that his features remained as they should be. He felt the freeze of the rejuvenation tank clinging freshly to his skin and making him feel wet. Coming to his senses of reality, Daikon realized that his empty settings made no sense. Was this death? That idea actually seemed a comfort compared to his sleeping visions of abominations. The dead man closed his eyes and reached for his temples, just in case this darkness was a side effect of waking from the healing chamber, but the gesture was interrupted by a surprise blue scouter that had found its way onto his face. Dead or dreaming, then, he thought flatly, though in this place his thoughts seemed audible. They echoed throughout the dreamscape like otherworldly warnings. Whatever facet of his subconscious this might have been, he thanked it for the sking tight suit now warming his body. It was simple, black and sleeveless. Saiyan boots hugged his calves and fresh white linen wrapped his fists. Raising his eyes from his attire, he noted that the environment was now dressed as well. Now he sat in the ruins of his crypt. The small recovery room where the procedure had happened sat in crumpled metal and over-killed corpses. A hole in the ceiling opened the roof to the telltale red tint of Vegeta’s night. Just like the dream… Before his thoughts could string into any suitable theories regarding this place, his scouter registered another presence there with him. Forgetting that there was no silent thought, he wondered aloud at his intruder, “Who could that be?” WC 325 |

Lethargy was his arch nemesis. The lack of action on the ever so peaceful Yaidrat became too much for the machine, or better worded, too less! Taking matters in his own hands was always promising to be a spectacle for sure, but how often had it ended well for Rilldo? The two previous occasions turned into lessons not learned. But then again, there was the temptation . . . Rilldo slowly made his exit out the dojo that he was situated in the past couple of weeks, having an experienced guide monitoring his progress. Now, it was becoming a habit for him to leave abruptly, but the bot had only returned recently and it raised question marks amongst his peers for going against Elder's guideline. His rulings were absolute, so he needed to make a small promise to prevent distrust. "Hehe, don't worry about me guys," Rilldo said, eyes closed, a fake smile completed with a friendly wave, "I'll make it quick, I swear!" He concluded, got out before it got too tumultuous. The android's itching fingers had found their way into his pockets where the magical tool was stored. It was a nice jewel Rilldo had worked on himself, granted, he had never tested it prior. It wasn't even clear it would work, but it sure as hell would be a nice excuse to escape reality. And so, he grasped it and concentrated, feeling his mind disconnect from his body that would still remain on the planet. *POOF* Cat-like reflexes made him barely land on his feet. Uncontrollably. However, considering it was his debut in this astral realm, and the fact he even made it out here, Rilldo passed with flying colors. But, that was only the arrival. A humanoid looking fighter was close, and possibly facing this person was the next challenge in line. The reading he got from his systems indicated that Zakuro was slightly less inexperienced than Rilldo, but that was never an insurance these days. The thing that felt off the most, was that the hybrid was almost anticipating Rilldo. And, as paranoid as the robot got, it worried him. "Hey, hey you!" The blue skinned being said, dying to know who his newest sparring partner was, "identify yourself, right now!" He demanded. Word Count: 389 |

Theme : Massive Attack - Angel Ghosts had been haunting the memory-painted setting when Rilldo arrived as masterfully clumsily as one could forgive. Daikon double checked the hole in the ceiling, wondering if it were a product of the saiyan-saiyan changeling’s birth or if in his confusion he had missed a meteoric arrival by the android. Had his new acquaintance been there to begin with? Perhaps he was another denizen of this afterlife. Then again, why would he dwell in the half-breed’s hell, unless perhaps he were the keeper of this ethereal limbo. The strange blue man opened his mouth to introduce himself as another confused bystander, demanding identification from the newly departed. “Oh, well I’m dead,” he said vaguely, still literally staring into space through the hole in the ceiling, “I think.” He suddenly realized that, real or not, he was in the middle of a conversation and commanded his focus back to the stranger, “Daikon, I mean. I’m Daikon. A saiyan.” He spaced again, mulling over the pieces of his current puzzle. His voice echoed audibly again, though he obviously wasn’t addressing anyone in particular, “Who does that make you?” The scouter indicated that this azure anomaly was more like a battery than a power source. Hypotheses continued to bounce the room despite his closed mouth, ”You’re dead too, I suppose.” The scouter couldn’t be relied upon, though, it occurred to him, and he tossed it aside. The lens shattered, jerking his attention suddenly, and in it he saw that white-headed, spectrum-eyed monster looking back. Shrieking laughter pierced the eardrums of all linked for barely a second before silence fell again. Daikon was petrified for a moment and audibly gasped before continuing his address. ”Do you know where we are?” If only for their shared befuddlement he believed he could trust whatever story Rilldo might conceive. Hopefully it would be at least as good as anything Daikon himself might come up with. WC 318 / 643 |

The environment was looking as grim as death itself, hinting towards a bad outcome. Nevertheless, the hybrid opponent was more in search of answers to his questions than to get into melee. Very well, Rilldo thought. He would play along for the time being, cause despite his unsuccesful landing, he was still able to get his share of information that he requested. It's only fair and complimentary to be returning the favour. "Dead?" Rilldo questioned, unable to make out what Daikon meant with that. Did he mean actual death or was that simply his label to the astral realm brought by the gem? "Oh, you mean the special dimension we got sent to via the gem," he began his explanation, trying to make it short and simple for his saiyan-changeling counterpart to comprehend, "this is where warriors link up to fight and learn from eachother. Like for example, I got some moves that'll blow your mind!" Rilldo finished, the first to brag. Knowing he wasn't the underdog in this situation, it wouldn't stay at bluffing either. An unpleasant screech echoed from above the pair of fighters, going further up and further away, a tone lower each time. It also set in a pause for Daikon to process all the answers he got presented. And, there was more, "speaking of fighting," the blue android began, pausing, "how about it," he offered, a crooked smile only wrinkling one side of his face. The educative side of battling was what he came for, but he was also keen to continue a dialogue should Diakon have more questions. "Unless of course you have more questions." WC: 271 TWC: 660 |

Theme : Morphine - The Saddest Song Pity washed over Daikon’s face as he heard Rilldo’s explanation of their realm. If the saiyan was correct and they were both dead then the truth of their situation was that they were in the saiyan afterlife, Fairfield. The idea of bending space to facilitate battles across the universe sounded more like wishful thinking. He took a large, preparatory sigh. By his standard, leaving a being in ignorance was a cruel fate and given their condition, a fate worse than death. Daikon would give his condolences with a battle, but not without imparting what he now believed to be the true state of things. “I’m sorry, friend, but the facts being what they are, one, that I am dead, two, that this world exists for battle… I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you’ve fallen in battle. This place has many names, but sparing cultural vernacular many simply call it ‘the Fighting Grid.’” Daikon watched his opponent’s reaction carefully. Luckily for the blue battler the saiyan believed it likely that his companion in death would not believe a word of it. Perhaps that was for the best. Cleverness and level-headedness made Daikon the least desirable saiyan soldier ever born on his bloodied planet. Quite honestly he had no heart or mind to give to battle at this moment. He’d almost grown numb to the internalized social shame that spat from his superego when these un-saiyan sentiments arose. Almost. Nevertheless, Daikon shifted into a forward stance, his guard framing his face and torso in a very basic battle stance. “I’m not the sort to deny a being’s last wish. Let’s see these moves of yours.” WC 279 / 922 |

Rilldo scrunched his nose and forehead, raising one eyebrow slightly above the other. Pursing his lips together and tilting his shiny head, he completed his confused look. He just stared at Daikon. The saiyan continued to give a vague explanation of his definition of the sparring dimension. It was very different from what the blue robot was used to, so he wasn't the one to be judging his rival. Besides, there's a very good chance they're actually dead! They're not in the living world! Perhaps that's what was being meant? However, being as stubborn as ever, Rilldo opposed to that theory and stuck to his own guns, "Listen here pal, I don't know what your point is with that dead mumbo jumbo. I sure as hell am NOT dead!" He said, shaking his index finger, his head following it in a rhythm. The android wasn't satisfied with the saiyans' words and he was going to make that clear. Unsatisfaction had transitioned into temporary resentment when Daikon had maneuvered into a fighting position. "Last wish huh?" Rilldo commented, tasting a hint a cynicism, "well then, since you seem eager on being dead... Let's arrange that." The blue colored robot unattached his hands from his arms and sprouted a little cannon from within. A moment later and Daikon was under siege, gunfire forming a huge circle and surrounding the hybrid, attacks coming from both sides. Before the end Rilldo ejected himself from the ground and flew along with the last bit of cannon-fire headed at Daikon. Getting a little closer, Rilldo gathered energy from his stomach and would bring it out orally to fire at the saiyan hybrid, giving him two nice attacks to deal with simultaneously. Rilldo was eager to see the defences of a saiyan and how they would react to an attack head on. WC: 305 TWC: 965 |

Theme : Boris - Pink The rubble of the remembered rejuvenation chamber was cramped and hardly ideal for a battle, but it was perfect for finding cover quickly. It seemed by Rilldo’s sassing and fussing that Daikon’s suggestion of mortality had caused him upset. The android’s hands fell away to reveal some sort of cannon, and the saiyan ghost didn’t wait around to see what they did. He dashed behind a pile of stone, metal and medical supplies as the machine gun began carving circles around its target and chipping away at the weak lump of cover. An android? That doesn’t make sense. Do androids get an afterlife? Daikon had to pull himself from the scientific method to figure some response. He leaned out just far enough for a peripheral lock on Rilldo’s position and, hoping he had measured correctly, moved his eyes to the ceiling above. Daikon summoned a handful of energy blasts aimed for weak spots in the ceiling above in the hopes of interrupting the wall of bullets currently trapping him. The saiyan threw an arm above his head to shield it from falling debris and checked in on Rilldo. The android had begun moving forward, propelled by the momentum of his weapon behind. Hopefully the poor handling of that decision-making would make it difficult to bridge the distance forcefully. Just in case, Daikon took a deep breath which warmed the air in his stomach until it burned him from the inside. The realness of pain in this otherworld was really quite incredible. He would wait for his target to arrive one meter’s distance from him before unleashing a fiery shout. WC 269 / 1,191 |

The ceiling and parts of the midsection took the majority of the damage that was meant for Daikon to take. That was not calculated in the plans, for his adversary to take cover. Until now, Rilldo only had the underdog position and he was the one taking cover. Now, the roles were switched off. There was no other choice for him but to change up his game. Closing in on his targets only meant that the blue android was more vulnerable for counter attacks, and so it proceded. A technique he had previously learned was used against him so easily, and effectively at that. Although it was only mental, the fire he felt on the metal was real, and hurtful at that. However, the fire move being a simple one and coming from someone lesser in brute force, it wasn't going to stop Rilldo. "You little runt, I'll get for you that!" Said Rilldo, enraged at the fact his opponent one-upped him. Making use of the short distance between the two, the android attempted to grab the saiyan by it's neck with one hand, pull him closer and subsequently fire off two thin beams from his eyes that would go vertically down, starting from his forehead to his chin, to cover Daikon's entire face. Still having the hybrid child in his grasp, he would embed energy in his forehead right before trying to headbutt Daikon away and send him flying. Theme : Suggested by Rem OOC: I liked your post. I apologize for this one. IC: Rilldo’s silhouette was just becoming visible as the fire died down. The coherency of his angry threat was just as shocking as the blue hand that suddenly clenched the saiyan experiment’s throat. It became perfectly clear who was the stronger of the pair as Daikon tried to wrestle away from the android’s vice grip to no avail. The young ghost couldn’t even shout when the eye beam painfully groped his face. Daikon’s eyes, now burned and blind, felt as if they’d been replaced by pools of mercury. The following headbutt was almost a relief from the hell of perpetual darkness he had been held in. Daikon’s failure as a soldier was showing as he held his fresh Picasso face and cried out in pain. He finally remembered his opponent and loosed some stray energy blasts out in sloppy defense, but at that point it was mostly for show. It seemed for now that he was down for the count. He wondered if his opponent would continue the assault, then decided that he didn’t seem the type to kick a dead man that was down, and finally remembered he had spent the last minute strangling Daikon while taking a laser to the young man’s face. With nowhere else to go, Daikon sat and waited for whatever Rilldo would decide. WC 218 WC 1409 |

His last barrage of attacks seemed to kick in and the little training he had prior seemed to bear its fruit. Utterly pleased with the end result, Rilldo went over to the hybrid. He smiled even though Daikon was probably still unable to notice it. Maybe by sound he would? "Hehe, hey buddy," Rilldo began, helping the young warrior up to his feet, "you won't take damage you sustain here back to the living world. So you have absolutely nothing to worry about!" It would be interesting to see how Daikon would develop over the days. They were both in the early stages of their fighting career and Rilldo knew how much fun it was to compare, every now and then. So, he would invite the hybrid to possibly redo the little meeting they had. Plus, that gave him an extra rival. Which meant extra motivation to get a fire lit under his blue ass. "How about we get to know eachother better soon?" Rilldo offered as he looked at the hand he still had around Daikon. It was slowly fading, along with the rest of his image. Which could only mean one thing; the meeting was over. "Don't be late!" WC: 201 TWC: 1405/1200 OOC: Now it's over you can put (Complete) in the title. |
